30M,173cm,64kg,W. In may 2021 I had a 10 day period of fever 39.5 degrees with other symptoms such as severe headache(more than usual when I have high temp), particles in urine and itchiness in urethra after urination, added weird odor to both gases from colon and from mouth(took 2 years to disappear). After the illness I had a period of muscle weakness for about a month. Also I had issues with severe decrease in bowel movement which took more than 2 years to heal(things become much better after I've started eating white rice). Although it was not confirmed but it's likely that I had a covid19.
After a month and a half I felt like I've almost recovered but some symptoms remained which I expected to just disappear over a longer period of time but they did not. At first I just stopped feeling well rested after waking up and I couldn't get energized from anything like music or sports. I've started quickly getting mentally exhausted from any activity. Right now after 3 years I can't even look straight when walking because processing that amount of visual information is already too exhausting for me. I have to look at the ground to not waste my mental energy when walking outside. Before the easiest and the most enjoyable things for me were reading and playing games which I could do for days or weeks almost ignoring sleep and eating but now even 30 minutes of playing video games could feel like previous 9 hours of office work.
Before this issue I was very healthy and still don't feel physically anything wrong. Did some sports, eat only healthy boiled food, mostly grains and eggs/meat. Never consumed any harmful substances like alcohol or drugs. Don't have any phycological issues. I have a decent family, no reason being stressed, accept myself for who I am and even if I'm not doing my best - I'm having fun with my life and it is all I care about.
I did brain MRI, encephalogram, neck vessels ultrasound which showed venous insufficiency which does not explain the symptoms, blood(general, hepatitis, ferritin, thyroid functions), urine tests.
In December 2023 neurologist assumed I have a depression and prescribed escitalopram. I took 5mg for 24 days with no positive results. But it helped me realize that I at least don't have the kind of depression that this drug induced. It completely cut off my concept of having fun reading a book. I stopped being able to understand this. And it made everything else felt much more bland till I've stopped taking the drug. I feel everything the same way I felt before the illness and I can enjoy everything I could before but I'm just constantly very tired with nothing being able to alleviate this.
In February 2024 I visited a psychiatrist as previous neurologist advised and after some talk no mental disorders or other issues were discovered. Got advised to check in with neurologist and received a prescription for emoxypine 250mg/day, idebenone 60mg/day and sulpiride 100mg 2 times/day. After 24 days of taking this stuff also got zero improvement.
Other drugs and vitamins I've taken over the period of 3 years with no short of long term improvement for the main symptoms: B1+3+6+9+12, D, Iron, Mg, Zinc, Ca, potassium iodide Ginkgo biloba, choline alfoscerate, vinpocetine, detralex, cinnarizine, pentoxifylline, inosine, piracetam, phenibut, levocarnitine, meldonium
Would be important to mention that I had 3 remissions since then: 1st for about 2-3 weeks starting at 1st of July 2022. It took 1 or 2 days to get from pretty bad condition to somewhat alright 2nd was for about 1.5 - 2 weeks at around 12 sep 2022. Took around 12h including sleep to get from bad into a decent condition(but worse then in previous remission) 3rd was for 4 days from around 11 of july 2023. My condition was gradually improving for 2 weeks before that stating from when I began taking ginkgo biloba and choline alfoscerate. I'm not sure if those drugs actually did anything or if it was a placebo effect.

2024.06.02 08:30 Alice_On_Chems Everything that can go wrong, will go wrong when I try and use my Scarlett 2i2 and Ableton Live 11 Lite, and I am beyond frustrated.
First off, every time I want to use my audio interface and record with Ableton, I need to reinstall the Scarlett drivers. It will straight up not function if I don't reinstall the drivers.
When in Ableton, audio when being monitored or recorded sounds normal, but during playback is extremely distorted and muddy.
Occasionally (meaning 1/3 times), a loud buzzing/droning sound will takeover until I completely shut down my laptop.
Occasionally, recorded audio during playback will not playback with sound, despite sound waves present and decibel meter being active during playback. Yes, my audio input/output devices are set correctly.
If I am lucky, my Scarlett 2i2 and Ableton will work briefly for about 10-15 minutes, then one or more of the problems above will kick in.
I got my Scarlett 2i2 back in December, and have been dealing with this every time thinking it was a user problem, and that I would get better at using my audio interface over time. It is so frustrating when I can't even record simple vocals and guitar playing with the gear that I bought specifically to do that.

I’ve been back and forth with this so many times but I just can’t tell what I am. I’ve done a lot of research over the years but it only has me more confused. Basically, I would like someone else’s view and opinion.
I’m female and I like feminine things. I learned about being gay in 5th grade when I moved to a different town. Before that, I had a crush on a boy. In 5th grade, I thought I was bi, but ended up dating this one boy for a couple days. Then I had another crush on a boy in 6-7th grade. In 8th grade, I online dated a genderfluid person who presented feminine for a month or two. I’m a sophomore now, but ever since freshman year, I would fantasize about dating this one girl. I did have a “hallway crush” on this one guy, but honestly I think it was more of me wanting to look like him.
I know with the amount of boys I have in my history I would most likely be bi, but I’m not sure if i actually liked them or wanted their attention. I don’t know how to explain it, but I find myself wanting attention from boys I would never date. I shudder at the thought of kissing a masculine man. Even a feminine man I’m not very attracted to. It’s hard for me to find some men attractive, but I find all women attractive.
When I think I’m lesbian, I think of my future and feel bad that I won’t be able to give birth and give my mom a blood related grandkid. My grandma would often say “husband.. or wife” when talking about my future, and I feel bad when she says wife. When I first thought I was probably lesbian, I remember commenting about how I didn’t like the word “lesbian”. I’m still not sure why exactly I felt that way, but I no longer do. I had someone tell me it’s internalized homophobia, which I can kind of see.
Typing everything out makes me think I am lesbian and just worried about the future, but I’m worried if I label myself gay then I’ll miss out on dating a nice man or something.

I don't have specific knowledge of my past lives, but I have always felt like a very old soul. I was writing about nostalgia in my diary when I was 12, which is wild to me now. I wrote this poem when I was 14 called "Don't You Remember?" about longing for a specific, beautiful place I've been imagining since I was very young. And of all the content in the Narnia books, I was most obsessed with "the wood between the worlds" as described in The Magician's Nephew, the liminal in-between place from which you can leap into other dimensions. I've always loved the liminal.
I also have a few first-person memories that I was technically too young to have, including a memory of being in my crib and biting the wooden rails of the crib--I remember what they taste like! I remember saying my first word (light!) and seeing myself from a top-down perspective. I always thought this memory came from a video recording, but I digitized all of my family's old home movies a few years back and this memory wasn't on any of the tapes.
I do have the sense that I tend to choose lives that are extra challenging in various ways and possibly bite off more than I can really chew. It does give me a sense of agency to conceptualize having chosen to deal with the particular struggles of this body, this brain, this family, this era of history. I chose all of it for a reason, and I'm determined to learn the lessons that I came here to learn.

First one was my brothers best friend. It started in 7th grade, lasted probably through 9th or 10th grade. He was a drummer. So so good looking, irritatingly so. Quiet, sweet voice. Skinny. These are recurring themes.
Second one was in college. Outgoing, not necessarily “attractive” but funny as hell. I heard he was attracted to me and somehow that made me interested in him. I hooked up with him a few times, but he didn’t want a relationship, and looking back, his disorganized/avoidant/whatever attachment was an absolute drug for me. This one was bad because I really thought I was In Love. Spoiler alert… I wasn’t.
Third one… later in undergrad. My accompanist (I’m a classical singer). He was a doctoral student. Great pianist and smart musician, and I desperately wanted his approval (another recurring theme). This one wasn’t so bad. This was also the first one I had WHILE I was in a relationship with my SO (now fiance). This one may have been just a crush. It wasn’t so bad.
Fourth one… my professor in grad school. So not even my type physically, first one who was married with kids. Outgoing, great musician, blah blah blah. I was his grad assistant and he confided in me and treated me as a special student. It was both of our first years at the school so it we joke that it was blind leading the blind. This one actually lasted for a while… I finished grad school in 2018, but I have memories of having fantasies about him during the pandemic. Hm. Looking back I’m like yo that guys was Flirting with me and he is 20 years my senior. Not a great look, that being said, I probably flirted back. Not my best look either.

2) VRBO Slightly higher end, a little bit more demanding, usually great guests, have slightly higher expectations, mostly north America. VRBO support is way worse than air BNB.

Over the years we have encountered many different types of guests. In the past year things have become more .. decisive. Interested to know if other multiple platform hosts notice anything recently.
1) Air BNB guests Polite, usually responsible and respectful - as they know and appreciate they are graded or reviewed for their stay. Airbnb has extensive coverage and kicks off guests.
2) VRBO Slightly higher end, a little bit more demanding, usually great guests, have slightly higher expectations, mostly north America. VRBO support is way worse than air BNB.

We went out from December 2021-March 2022. I remember I had largely wanted a boyfriend because I had felt so unattractive that year.
The only black men I’m attracted to are typically average or above. In regards to mixed race men, I think I have a very specific look I tend to like - I think I’ve only typically liked ones who were above average. I’m in an area that has a low black population and always have been, which is why in elementary and middle school I tended toward liking white and white presenting boys (I think most people like what they grew up around. In high school, it was common to see the black boys dating the white girls, or really seeking out/desiring the white girls.)
I’ve been on a break from work this week, and my college courses are over (finished off the semester with A’s.) I’ve been pretty depressed and stressed out, though, I think mostly because my environment is so unhealthy. My parents tend to scream at each other all the time, today they were yelling at my older brother on the phone because he walked too far from his group after completing a fundraiser for his program in rehab, and they had to call an Uber for him. They are both the kind of people who would hit a child. I don’t really like either one of them, but the cost of living is high and I wanted to save money by going to community college. I have $12000 in my savings account and won’t touch it, even though I’m dying to buy vintage clothing and do something new with my hair (probably box braids.) I have sleeping issues and tend to look and feel very tired.
My longest, strongest crush from 9th-10th grade was on a mixed (1/2 black 1/2 white) boy who’d called me a 5 and then a 4. I remember dealing with very bad body dysmorphia over quarantine because of it. What’s interesting is that he is no longer “important” like he was even a year ago when I was reflecting on my crushes (I guess what I mean by that is that in high school, I always thought that because I’d liked him for a year, because that was the first time I’d ever really liked a black boy - he did look mixed - I’d remember him forever, that I’d perhaps even desire guys who reminded me of him. I was mostly wrong, I think. Looking for some advice/guidance on the best way to challenge being designated as an underperformer at work. Some background:
Been at the company for nearly 6 years, never had any performance issues. Original role was back office/support. I changed roles into a hardefront office job (this was a return to work I was previously doing elsewhere- so had experience in it) just about 2 years ago and the first year was great- led a great team, good results, good appraisal in May 2023.
Then I hit a string of bad luck. Was staffed on a project with people who were chasing promotions, so lots of sharp elbows, talking over me, and not inviting me to meetings etc. They were also marginally more senior than me so treated me as a mid-level and assigned me junior tasks. The culture is very toxic so this is common.
December I was given a mid-year appraisal and told I had some development points to address, but specifically told I wasn’t being put on a performance plan or that anyone in the organization thought I was a problem. Basically, my takeaway was all was still good, just some refining of approach.
New project assigned in January. Threw myself in wholeheartedly knowing I had these points to address. Not given a leadership role in the matter so still very much doing what was told. Even worse instances of not being invited to key meetings, not being briefed. I took every initiative- sifted through the team folders to make sure I was up to speed, had convos to brief myself, but I couldn’t help not being invited or told about key meetings. I played a fairly big role on this project producing key work product and driving the matter forward, but just wasn’t the “face” of the project. We had manic deadlines and we worked around the clock. I felt I did well, or at least well enough despite being excluded from participating.
Annual appraisal was just after this project ended (April) and I was told I was underperforming. Senior people had to spend too much time reviewing my work. I wouldn’t get a pay rise or my bonus. It was made clear to me that to them, I was being watched on this last project which was my last chance to impress them that I could do the job, and I apparently failed. And now it’s clear they want me to leave (though I’m not being outright fired).
So how can I challenge this? There wasn’t any communication of this “last chance”, or that I was essentially on probation. The points raised in the December meeting were very different from the points they raised in my annual appraisal. Nobody said anything to me about my work product this whole time.
I’m job hunting anyway, place is so toxic and they clearly don’t want me, but I’d like to get the underperformer status removed so I can have my bonus.

I have complex trauma from being abused at home in a number of ways and being horribly bullied and tormented at school all of growing up. It really, really messed me up in ways that I cannot even put words to. But I had zero normal social experienecs and a horrorshow at home. I was always bullied/ humiliated/ berated for being ugly, both at home and at school.
My mother used to tease me until I would have a breakdown and be sobbing with shame and humiliation and then call my dad and my brothers out to all laugh at me and then she would do a crazy little jig and laugh hysterically while singing a song she made up about me breaking down after she got me to cry, and they would all laugh while I felt completely dehumanized, I never felt like a person growing up and I still don't, I never have. My dad was always screaming at me and beat me. My mother hit me a lot too and when I would cry instead of laugh with them while they made fun of me I would get screamed at and hit and sent to my room sometimes for days.
At school was pretty much the same and boys always did the worst of the bullying again for me being ugly. It would have been such a blessing to just have been ignored. But I was tormented and humiliated and bullied and singled out every day all day for years. The teachers either looked on, ignored it or bullied me as well. And it really never let up not at any point until I left highschool and then even my first year of college I still got made fun of.
I developed clear signs of mental illness that nobody noticed or cared about, I became extremely depressed and forgetful and 110 percent dissociated although I did not know that word back then. I regressed for awhile and began talking like a baby yet did not realize I had until a boy in class yelled at me to stop, I also quit eating and had severe anxiety. My grades tanked (although they had years before began to do so) and I could not think at all or concentrate or focus ( I still cannot and am dissociated much of the time and have severe anxiety)
I never tutned into a swan or anything. But all my life people have only countered these experiences with "You're not ugly". Well that's a lie because my entire life shows for it. I won't go into how.
My current therapist is a man and around my age and I showed him a picture of myself from when I was in jr high and the bullying was absolutely terrible at school and the abuse at home was very bad as well, and he laughed at it. He then said I looked "rough".
It annihilated me. He has told me in the past that I am "not ugly" but that doesn't matter to me because it isn't that simple after experiences like I had for so long as I had. And it isn't true anyway.
It just really made me feel like a lesser than piece of shit, and hideous and inferior and is if he definitely would have bullied me too and that even an adult would still laugh at jr high me. I feel terrible about it still even though he apologized but only after trying to pretend that he meant something else by what he said and after denying that he said that at all to begin with.
The whole situation is terrible and just confirmed everything that has ever been said to me about my appearance which I have always hated my entire life. I have suffered because of all of it.
I just don't get it. I would never, could never laugh at a picure of a child. No matter what. I was a baby sitter and have seen how absolutely shitty adults can be even about children for shallow appearance based matters.
My therapist just validated every terrible thing that was ever said to me about my looks and I have been decimated since and my SI has gotten worse. I am so ugly that even my therapist laughed. Jr high me needed acceptance and he was just shitty about it. He has no idea how horrible it is to have suffered how I have for something that I did not choose, my appearance and also knows all about what I went through with it as I have described here- yet even as an adult, even as a therapist, he laughed and called me "rough looking". I was still just a 13 year old girl with absolutely nobody looking out for or protecting me. At all.
I want to die.
It is not as simple as "get another therapist".
He absolutely hates to be called out on anything and he finally apologized but it really has not changed anything for me because he denied it, then tried to pass it off as something else before apologizing and onnly finally apologized when I said that I had no choice but to quit.

I do not know what to do yet I cannot leave so please do not just tell me "get another therapist".

My mother used to tease me until I would have a breakdown and be sobbing with shame and humiliation and then call my dad and my brothers out to all laugh at me and then she would do a crazy little jig and laugh hysterically while singing a song she made up about me breaking down after she got me to cry, and they would all laugh while I felt completely dehumanized, I never felt like a person growing up and I still don't, I never have. My dad was always screaming at me and beat me. My mother hit me a lot too and when I would cry instead of laugh with them while they made fun of me I would get screamed at and hit and sent to my room sometimes for days.
At school was pretty much the same and boys always did the worst of the bullying again for me being ugly. It would have been such a blessing to just have been ignored. But I was tormented and humiliated and bullied and singled out every day all day for years. The teachers either looked on, ignored it or bullied me as well. And it really never let up not at any point until I left highschool and then even my first year of college I still got made fun of.
I developed clear signs of mental illness that nobody noticed or cared about, I became extremely depressed and forgetful and 110 percent dissociated although I did not know that word back then. I regressed for awhile and began talking like a baby yet did not realize I had until a boy in class yelled at me to stop, I also quit eating and had severe anxiety. My grades tanked (although they had years before began to do so) and I could not think at all or concentrate or focus ( I still cannot and am dissociated much of the time and have severe anxiety)
I never tutned into a swan or anything. But all my life people have only countered these experiences with "You're not ugly". Well that's a lie because my entire life shows for it. I won't go into how.
My current therapist is a man and around my age and I showed him a picture of myself from when I was in jr high and the bullying was absolutely terrible at school and the abuse at home was very bad as well, and he laughed at it. He then said I looked "rough".
It annihilated me. He has told me in the past that I am "not ugly" but that doesn't matter to me because it isn't that simple after experiences like I had for so long as I had. And it isn't true anyway.
It just really made me feel like a lesser than piece of shit, and hideous and inferior and is if he definitely would have bullied me too and that even an adult would still laugh at jr high me. I feel terrible about it still even though he apologized but only after trying to pretend that he meant something else by what he said and after denying that he said that at all to begin with.
The whole situation is terrible and just confirmed everything that has ever been said to me about my appearance which I have always hated my entire life. I have suffered because of all of it.
I just don't get it. I would never, could never laugh at a picure of a child. No matter what. I was a baby sitter and have seen how absolutely shitty adults can be even about children for shallow appearance based matters.
My therapist just validated every terrible thing that was ever said to me about my looks and I have been decimated since and my SI has gotten worse. I am so ugly that even my therapist laughed. Jr high me needed acceptance and he was just shitty about it. He has no idea how horrible it is to have suffered how I have for something that I did not choose, my appearance and also knows all about what I went through with it as I have described here- yet even as an adult, even as a therapist, he laughed and called me "rough looking". I was still just a 13 year old girl with absolutely nobody looking out for or protecting me. At all.
I want to die.
It is not as simple as "get another therapist".

so i failed or was reinfected with ureaplasma parvum after several antibiotics for the last few motnths (1. moxi but wasn't told to abstain but that wiped out the mycoplasma). i assume this would have cured urea if i was abstaining. dr told me to retest day i finished which was too soon but then cipro after another positive (for some reason my urgent care dr prescribed this because he didn't understand urea which obviously did not cure it and caused horrible side effects)...
i then did 14 day doxy and azithro combo immediately after cipro and my partner did 7 day doxy and azithro. i was negative before taking this after cipro but pcp told me to go ahead and continue this because it was likely false and i had bad symptoms. then i assume reinfected shortly after finishing (like within 2 weeks judging by the symptoms returning which i assumed were lingering after it being cured). me and my partner were not abstaining from oral sex (only a few times), but i was under the impression it was near impossible to spread it this way. i am not completely certain but i don't believe we had pentration during this period, but we might of, my memory is not the best. i do believe that if i was dealing with this alone and not having to also worry about treating a partner this whole process would be easier and possibly over.
my partner is also under the impression that he does not have it, even though we have unprotected sex. just because he doesn't have symptoms, i guess. it was difficult to convince him to do the doxy azithro combo the first time, but he did and promised he did it in full. it just adds stress having to retreat us together for a second time. i thought it would be over. i also have to worry about getting him the medications because he doesn't want to go to the ddoesnt have insurance or something.
now 2 doctors (urgent care and a urologist) recommended just a zpack (one gave me 250 mg pack and the other 500 mg pack) my pcp wants me to do doxy 10 day followed up by azithro. I just fear this will not be enough given my past with this. i am going to go ahead and start doxy and i have another appt with my other urologist this week to see if he wants to change the treatment or extend it or whatever. my pcp said my next step would be an infectious disease dr if this doesn't wipe it out this time. I have been battling this since December where i got my initial positive result.
the good news is i now have a boat load of azithro me and my partner can take following the doxy. we will definitely abstain. should we avoid kissing? any sort of physical contact/dry humping? get new toothbrushes? anything else for precautions?
