Hello, Just for background, I was pregnant 5 weeks and went to PP to confirm this with an ultrasound. They showed me the sac in the uterus and proceeded to explain the first pill I needed to take. I took the first pill mifepristone yesterday at 12:45 pm. I went back home and got a few things to prepare the next day. I usually have light regular periods and use tampons so I only got l the maxi pad (not diaper), heating pads, ibuprofen, Gatorade, water, wipes, vaginal soap. During the night, I experienced a little cramping, but nothing major. I woke up around 3 am to pee and noticed that I had started bleeding lightly. I put on a pad and went back to sleep. I woke up at around 9 am the next day to check my pad and there was some light bleeding, so I was not too worried since it was mentioned that this was normal. I set up all the medicine I need to take and set my alarms for when I need to take them. I ate breakfast at around 9:30pm-10pm. I had some bread, hard boiled egg, spam and rice. I was feeling a little hungry. But at this time, I was still feeling okay, no cramps, just light bleeding. Finally at 12:15pm I took 3 ibuprofen pills and 1 anti-nausea medicine that PP had given me. While waiting for the 30 mins, I went to the bathroom to poop and changed my pad, got into comfortable clothes. I had my water ready and gatorade, because I knew I needed to stay hydrated the whole time. When 12:45pm comes, I take the 4 pills and put 2 each on the side of my cheek, set my timer to 30 mins and waited. The pills were chalky and I swallowed whatever was being dissolved with my saliva. After the 30 mins, I just swished the leftover pills in my mouth and swallowed everything. I went back to my couch and sat there, put on a show, and anticipated the cramping and bleeding. Right away, about 20 mins after, I felt really strong cramping, all the way to my back, so I kept using the heat pad. My boyfriend was holding my hand and trying to massage my back the whole time, which helped a lot. I 100% recommend having someone there with you. It was really painful and I didn’t stop myself from letting out noises. It felt like my uterus was being shedded and twisted. It would stop for a bit and then start again. I tried to inhale and exhale deeply at the point to calm myself down. I assumed this is what some people felt during heavy period, but I wasn’t used to it so it was all new. I also noticed that I was rocking back and forth and just sitting down, not fully laying down. This for some reason helped with the pain. I was hydrating the whole time, going back and forth between water and Gatorade. At this point, the cramps increased and I felt the urge that something was going to come out. I went to the bathroom and sat down but nothing came out. The cramps increased and I had started crying due to the pain. I would go back and forth to the couch and then to the bathroom again everytime I felt like something was going to come out. At around 1:45 pm, I went back to the bathroom and sat again. There was a bit of bleeding and some clots coming out at this point. I was sitting there for a bit, having the need the push. I kept my heat pad with me the whole time and also kept drinking water and Gatorade when I can. The more I sat there, I finally pooped and I know this was normal since diarrhea is a side effect. I cleaned up and the cramps did not stop so I just sat in the bathroom with my boyfriend, so I can go to the toilet anytime. At this point, the cramps were horrible but I didn’t feel like I was gonna pass out or vomit. I kept the heat pad with me and my boyfriend was massaging me and holding me on the bathroom floor. It literally felt like it would never end. Finally around 2 pm, I felt the urge again to push something out. So I sat in the toilet and kept massaging. At this point I was bleeding out clots but not the tissue yet. I stayed for several minutes and kept hydrating myself. At 2:10 pm, I felt the urge to push and that’s when it came out. I knew that must be it since it was white and shaped like a sac and when I looked closer I could make out the shape of a small fetus. I immediately felt release and instantly felt better. I even felt like my vision got a bit better. The cramping immediately went down. I chugged down water and Gatorade and went back in the sofa. Now, I am just sitting and relaxing, I don’t have heavy cramping anymore or the urge to push. Does this sound like my MA was successful? I am wondering because it seemed like it happened so fast for me. I was reading that some people were cramping for 6 hrs and more. I am hoping that was the hard part. I have a follow up appointment in 2 weeks for an ultrasound

My doctor started me on 5 units and it was to my understanding this would not do much if anything but would just determine if I would have excessive adverse reactions. I had no reactions or crazy side effects but I did notice what I thought was food noise suppression. I was not longer going about my day thinking about food, having cravings, or just seeing food and thinking "oh that sounds good". I lost 3-5 pounds during 3 weeks on 5 units.
I was upped to 10 units for the next portion of my journey, I am only 1.5 weeks into 10 units (so 2 shots so far) and I feel like the food noise is back. I am still not hungry throughout the day so it is a nice little reminder that once I stop this medication I have to actively choose if I am eating for enjoyment or sustenance but I just find it weird. I am definitely loosing more on 10 units than on 5 units but the food noise coming back and I noticed the 2-3 days immediately following the shot I can barely get myself to eat and after that as the next shot gets closer I am fairly hungry. I have thought about instead of 10 units once a week I do 5 units twice a week to make sure that I am not going 2-3 days a week barely eating anything and maybe suppress the food noise again.
Wondering if anyone has any thoughts/advice

 | So far I have been on 45 MG Rinvoq for around 40 days my calpro when I started Rinvoq was at 563 now it's below 10. still experiencing some pain in my bladder but everything else is basically fixed . Im also on Mesalamine enemas to help with the Rectum part of the inflammation. It's truly an amazing drug and I hope it keeps me in remission for long term . Hi everyone. I am posting because I feel like I am on the brink of a completely breakdown over this condition and any help or advice that anyone can share would be so appreciated.
I am running out of foods, constantly developing new allergies and reactions, and went to the hospital a few weeks ago with a brand new type of reaction where my lips swelled up and I was covered in a rash. I haven’t been to a restaurant, visited a friend, or traveled absolutely anywhere in almost a year. My life feels like it is over, it cannot get any smaller. I am utterly defeated.
My body cannot seem to tolerate anything that actually helps me, and what it can tolerate doesn’t work. I am super sensitive to medications and get side effects from EVERYTHING, even if I don’t have a reaction to it. I take Zyrtec every day which has always helped a bit, but when my allergist suggested upping it I tried 1.5 a day and felt HORRIBLE. I felt like I had been drugged, I felt sick and miserable and my entire body hurt. I tried Pepcid for a few months and it also made me sick, my stomach hurt, my hair was falling out, and I believe it was actually making me MORE reactive. I have tried Quercitin and am still taking it, but it makes my heart race and gives me horrible anxiety and I don’t know if it’s doing anything at all. Increasing the dose of anything results in such awful side effects I can’t function it seems.
The one thing that has EVER worked and worked like magic was birth control. I was on Yaz for almost a decade, and it made a HUGE difference. Night and day. Some reactions started again a few years in, but for the most part I could live an almost normal life.
But then I developed some sort of stomach issue, it had all the symptoms of gastritis even though the endoscopy only found mild stomach lining irritation. But it was literally 9/10 agonizing pain. I couldn’t eat anything at all and I reacted to all the PPIs they gave me. The PPIs didn’t even work and the pain lasted for months, writhing on the floor in agony every single day. I tried other birth controls and they not only didn’t help my stomach, but my allergies got worse and worse every single month. I finally quit the BC altogether and my stomach slowly improved, but my allergies have gotten completely out of control and I have ended up where I am now.
Please, if anyone anywhere can suggest anything that I haven’t tried I would greatly appreciate it. I cannot cut out any more food, I am already malnourished and miserable. I also have an allergist/immunologist, but he admits he doesn’t know a ton about MCAS so he is really just suggesting more Pepcid and Zyrtec. I cannot find an MCAS specialist near me and have called a ton of immunologists and allergists and they all recommend the doctor I currently see. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Welcome to Season 3, Episode 2 of Let's Talk. Here I am doing the last thing I thought I would do a couple of years ago: Dissecting the greatest player of this franchise. I've been balding since I was in my early 20's and I'm now, the initial balding happened around 26 and did seem a bit rapid (but I had my hair long so it would have covered up any balding spots) I decided to just shave my head and have been doing that since so I haven't paid much attention to my hair but I did notice my bald spot getting bigger over time, I assumed it was just Male Pattern Baldness and that was it.
Recently I've been having stomach issues so I decided to go on a low inflammation diet, low acid, and mainly very healthy food. While on this diet I started to notice my hair seemed to be getting darker and seemed a bit fuller than it used to be so I decided to start trying to grow it back. I tried random stuff like rosemary oil daily with some melatonin topically, as well as Stemoxydine, and also tried ketoconazole shampoo because I heard it was effective and I did always notice my head had random redspots and generally seemed irritated. I also started taking Finnestride 3 weeks ago. Fast forward to recently I noticed an explosion in growth, my crown that was mostly bald seems to be filling up with white hairs that eventually turn dark, and the bald region started to shrink. This doesn't sound too crazy for Finnestride, but the same is happening in my hairline where I was completely bald for at least 10 years, my temple points are also regrowing as well. I do also have some redness and irriration all over so this could even be a fungal thing? I'm guessing I still have some MPB but it doesn't seem to be that bad given the level of regrowth.
I do have Eczema, and this could be some kind of sebderm or autoimmune thing, but it doesn't look like normal regrowth from MPB to me, but I could also be completely off the mark as I'm not an expert. Thanks!

Recently I've been having stomach issues so I decided to go on a low inflammation diet, low acid, and mainly very healthy food. While on this diet I started to notice my hair seemed to be getting darker and seemed a bit fuller than it used to be so I decided to start trying to grow it back. I tried random stuff like rosemary oil daily with some melatonin topically, as well as Stemoxydine, and also tried ketoconazole shampoo because I heard it was effective and I did always notice my head had random redspots and generally seemed irritated. I also started taking Finnestride 3 weeks ago. Fast forward to recently I noticed an explosion in growth, my crown that was mostly bald seems to be filling up with white hairs that eventually turn dark, and the bald region started to shrink. This doesn't sound too crazy for Finnestride, but the same is happening in my hairline where I was completely bald for at least 10 years, my temple points are also regrowing as well. I do also have some redness and irriration all over so this could even be a fungal thing? I'm guessing I still have some MPB but it doesn't seem to be that bad given the level of regrowth.
I do have Eczema, and this could be some kind of sebderm or autoimmune thing, but it doesn't look like normal regrowth from MPB to me, but I could also be completely off the mark as I'm not an expert. Thanks!

2024.05.15 19:56 SirWinter8407 Reviewing all of my controllers
in order of how much I liked them
1.Gamesir T4 Kaleid. My favorite controller I've ever had. I've had 3 of them by now and it's the one I most consistently go back to after trying others. I enjoy how it is wired-only so it is simple, and how there is no battery to degrade. No matter what better controllers I try even high end ones, the Kaleid doing what it does for $40 makes it impossible to ignore, it existing is like an elephant in the room to all other controllers I see. "Yeah but the Kaleid does that 4x better and is 1/3 the price." It doesn't have the most premium feeling build quality, but I don't think that's what it's going for, it feels more like an impossible performance prototype.Onto specifics...the speed of this controller will spoil you. Anything else I try after it, I need to readapt. I don't know anything about polling rates or latencys all I know is, this controller is so fast it feels like it inputs before I do. (There is only one other controller on this list that feels nearly as fast and believe it or not, it's the Dualsense with Bluetooth, but I'll get there.) There's not much else I can say about speed besides it has ruined 80% of other controllers for me. I'll get the worst part of this controller out the way, the dpad is just bad. It's too stiff and it gets stuck. It's not a dealbreaker but for multidirectional inputs like fighting games it registers terribly in my experience. The 3rd controller did come MUCH better than my first 2 so I suppose it depends on the unit, but my first 2 I got had dpads that were pretty much only useful for single-actuations. It's just a stiffness problem basically. The triggers don't have stops on them, but they still have decent tension and I like them well enough. Bumpers work great but nothing really notable about them. Every other button is clicky and amazing, the back buttons and face buttons are very satisfying and have great actuation distance. The face buttons have some side to side action but I've never got a bad or sticky button. The sticks themselves are flawless, they have a mix of solid snappy centering and lack of tension when moving that I've never seen in a controller. So yeah the Kaleid is not perfect, but it's the best I've tried yet.
2.8bitdo Ultimate. This controller has my favorite design of all on this list. It is probably the only that is closer to a Switch Pro Controller formfactor. I don't know if it's my small-medium hand size or just the way I use controllers but it feels like it was made for me. Its connectivity with the dock is very stable wirelessly. The reason I moved on from it is, the parts of the controller feel cheap in comparison to the competition. The triggers, bumpers, and face buttons leave much to be desired. The dpad began to loosen quickly. The sticks felt great though, even when they were the generic Gulikit modules before they switched to Ksilvers. It also feels kinda slow after using others with better polling rate. But I dont want to just dismiss it because of this because as a product I did love it and I think it is excellent. If an Ultimate 2 is ever released with improvements I will instantly be on board.
3.Vader 3 Pro. Probably the all-rounder in terms of features, value, performance, and recommendability. Everything about it is great, my reasons for not preferring it are purely subjective. I just don't think it feels great in my hands and it isn't comfortable, it feels too much like an Xbox controller and I didn't enjoy using it as much. It's the gamepad choice among my college buddies so I certainly respect and appreciate it, it just isn't for me. The Kaleid has a similar formfactor to Xbox too but it doesn't feel that way in the hands, and it has the added novelty of the transparent RBG look that I love.
4.Dualsense Edge. This is a sad case for me. The most accurate elite feeling control on this list. S tier build quality. Saved for 2 weeks to comfortably afford it. It's perfect, but I had bad luck with 2 of mine. The USB functionality of the controller broke after firmware update, on both controllers I tried, and I never found the solution. That along with it being a whopping $200 preventing me from keeping it. My other complaints were the trigger stops didn't cut out very much, it was very heavy, and the centering/stick movement was very twitchy and jittery on mine.
5.8bitdo Pro 2. Bought this when they got a hall effect update. I loved its unique design, seemed perfect for my taste of retro and newer games. Latency was instant dealbreaker, 2nd slowest feeling controller I've used whether wired or wireless.
6.Gulilit KK2 (Zen Pro). The 1st slowest controller I've used. Got this because hall effect was new at the time and I loved the design. The moment I got home and felt its latency I brought it back.
7.Switch Pro Controller. My only experience with stick drift was with this. I bought one that had it out the box, thought it was bad luck, but my replacement was the same. And it was not mild, my character on the main menu screen was spinning around. Even after calibration and updates. Swore on hall effect after that. What I liked about it was its comfort and unique design and large face buttons, and at the time I wasn't very much into "premium" controllers and just wanted something 1st party.
The rest is specific to fight pads. These things really need an overhaul because they are beyond dated but here's my thoughts on them.
0.Hori Fighting Commander PS4. Best gamepad ever made. Has everything listed below but with high latency to boot. I put it at 0 because mine broke and it can no longer be found new, it was discontinued, unless you catch it relisted at rare times or rare places etc.1.Hori Fighting Commander Octa. This is my choice purely because it has the highest polling rate of them which to for a fighting game is essential IMO. It's only 250hz but that's higher than the others, unless you count the Haute hitbox (which I won't because that's very different from these gamepads). I'm not a fan of the Octa's plasticy design or its protruding handles, but it is the fastest so I use it. The dpad works but is a little harsh on your thumb. The buttons are mechanical but the travel is far too short and they are too sensitive. I complain about it but it works and is reliable, perhaps the most reliable on the market for fighting games. Its stick is its best feature- if you can overcome the travel distance I'd say it is the only analog stick that can be viable for competitive play. Not just the gates but the height and resistance of it, it feels very natural.
2.8bitdo M30. I love the feel and nostalgic design of this pad. It is tiny and feels great in my hands and has great build quality. There is a design flaw for fighting games though, I need to press light kick and light punch to do grabs but those 2 buttons pressed together are obstructed by the divit/cutout of the face buttons. The 2 leftmost face buttons can't be pressed together unless you bend your thumb sideways. I can get used to it but it hurts my hand after a while.
3.Hori Fighting Commander Switch. This is my ideal design and formfactor choice, exact same as the PS4 one just gret. The reason I specify switch is because, it is the only one available now, on other consoles the Octa variant has replaced it. But this is an issue because the Switch version has insanely higher latency than the PS4 one. I didn't notice it until I tested it and looked it up but when I did I realized it could be why my scores went down.
4.Razer Raion. Garbage. Terrible dpad on both the original and the updated one with the axis. It loses tension within 10 minutes of use and seems like it isn't even bothering to register you diagonals. Terrible design with pointless empty space in the bottom left, cramming up your hand. Bad input latency. Stay away at all costs.

I think this is only true for a small number of us. I had no prior anxiety issues, no recent traumatic life event, or anything I can point to that caused this. Just happened one night, over a month ago, and haven't been able to sleep properly since.
Before that night, I slept 9-10 hours every single night with no issues. Never had sleep problems in my life. Does not sleeping cause some anxiety? Of course. But what makes insomnia prolonged? My anxiety died down weeks ago, so why hasn't my sleep returned to normal? I lie in bed calm, normal heart rate, no racing thoughts, relaxed. Still can't fall asleep no matter how many hours pass. That's not anxiety anymore, a switch has been flipped.
Something physiological changed that night, and it probably has to do with the sympathetic nervous system. This is completely out of one's control. Your body breathes, and your heart beats without your help. Sleep is the same, it's supposed to just happen. How can I be up for days straight and not feel tired at all? Something is broken! There are no youtube videos or techniques that can help you manage your subconscious nervous system.
Maybe I was exposed to a virus but didn't have symptoms, and that triggered it. In the Covid sub, a large percentage of the users seem to report insomnia as a lasting side effect. No matter the trigger, my point is that a physical change in the brain/body seems to have taken place, and whether it can be undone or fixes itself seems to be specific to the individual. Basically seems like luck whether you get through it or not.
Some claim cbt-i cured them, others meditation/yoga. Some said probiotics are the answer. Some want to sell you the cure. But how can you be sure it wasn't placebo/coincidence, and your body was just already on the path to fixing itself? Correlation does not mean causation.

I have no idea where this technology will lead or what it will solve, my goal is an investment, certainly not divine, I have no clue in the end who it will truly benefit but the medical thing does have potential.
Today I'm happy with thousands of modulators on a foundry produced wafer. And thousands of modulators from a few ounces of Perkinamine. These modulators Triple the speed, reduce the power and are 1/30 the size of today's modulators. Lebby will fill us in on what we need, he is far more intelligent than anyone on this board.

Now they have added a former Intel deal maker to the board of directors.
Soon this thing will in fact snowball because the industry's "go to" good old silicon photonics has hit the wall it simply cannot run faster. Lightwaves material when added applied to Silicon triples the speed and because it is so sensitive it is 30times smaller and uses 1/10 the power all at a time when AI is pushing the amount of data processed by the data centers through the roof.
~Some of us were wondering why the Lightwave employees were still in town (apparently held over) for an extra 2 days over after the OFC San Frisco meeting, now we see that there were no less than 20 companies that apparently requested an unscheduled impromptu demo on a holiday week (good Friday) after the convention was over. Not only did Lightwave employees not go home but it sounds like a bunch of Tier 1’s and such saw it as important enough to see ASAP. Lightwave is going partner with many and they will simply sell devices that are faster and require less energy, those companies are not going to tell the competition what they do to make that happen. Lightwave will quietly market to the tier1's and they will insist on it in their data centers and devices. The one exception that I see is that if the foundry runs were paid for by Lightwave Logic (vs. say an amazon or facebook etc) Lightwave would do joint public PR of where the industry can order chips with Lightwaves Perkinamine on it (It is called checking the box on the PDK).
The shorting situation will be solved by additional Partnerships and look out when those Partnerships are accompanied by a dividend in a new 3rd party company licensing say the ability to develop the Lidar device market or for the biotech crowd a medical sensing partner, wham short situation solved in short order. Hey guys, i will be quickly explaining my situation.
So iam 30 yo M , i dont suffer from any medical conditions , but since i was kid i felt iam different than the others in so many ways, still iam quite social man.
Before 4 months i was hanging out with my friends, and then we started explaining each one’s personalities ( good and bad things/habits we regularly do) since we were friends for 10 years and know each other well.
So they started telling my personality and saying that 1- i can hear any one’s else when iam concentrating on something 2- cant do any multitask 3- starting alot of new hobbies and going deeply learning , searching on that hobby, for just a period then quitting it 4- cant see a movie from beginning till the end 5- regularly forgetting my items , and getting lost 6- always late to appointments
And many other things ( i cant remember what they said)
So one of them told me maybe its adhd! , i laughed and said no i didnt suffer from this and i know this disorder.
then the next 3 days i literally was thinking 24 hours about what they said to me, and read alot of articles about add/adhd , then i cried alot because i made sure that i suffer from this disorder and no one told me in my entire life.
Because i was blaming my self during these years when i forget something Struggling starting most of my tasks was so intelligent but really hated the school and studying
And really hated that feeling when I remembered every time someone one just blame me if i forget something or lost my items.
Why do you always forget the things we tell you Why do you always losing your items Why and why and why, and i know my self and i know that i really fighting and struggling avoiding these things , and just couldn’t!
So i went to the doctor, and i was diagnosed with ADD, he prescribed Wellbutrin 150 xl for 2 months
And oh my god guys, It really felt like i took of my entire skin and change it with other, literally everything bad habit in the past is 80-90% gone! Without any side effects, so these the things changed - it became so easy starting my tasks - didn’t lost my items, i mean not any but once in awhile - enjoyed staying with my family, friends and just start listening to them and didn’t get bored from that - i can focus alot more and cant get distracted easily - helped getting rid of binge eating - i dont get mid day crashes any more - increased libido
And everything were perfect until my doctor raised the dosage to 300mg, and till now iam very sad because almost every thing changed
So my main issue, is recently suffered from emotional blunting, felt so flat nothing made me sad or happy, not enjoying sitting or talking with others, and i forget so so many things (names , words , recent past events)
So what do you think guys

- i had my first panic attack ever when i was in the mall with my family
- caffeine really made me anxious
- developed a Myoclonus ( sudden twitching or jerking)
- bad short memory

Just a review from an old gamer but noob to SC.
I'd heard this game was a total scam and avoided it for all these years. Maybe it was a bad-deal back then, but now: I'm happy to report that this IS a real game with a lot to offer and a lot to do. It has incredible potential! $45 gets you into SC and that is a great deal!
Where I come from: Halo CE-Reach. Wow/Wc3/Starcraft/HotS/OW. Mass Effect. Deus Ex. Subnautica. . Elite Dangerous. No Man's Sky. Dota2. Helldivers2. Escape from Tarkov (7 years). I love spaceships, FPS combat, hot-rodding stuff, buying/selling/stealing stuff, murdering, rescuing, etc. Love PVE and PVP.
WHAT’S GOOD ABOUT IT:
Visuals. Most beautiful game I've ever seen. Most talented art-team ever. Spaceships, environments, gear. Best ever. Constant state of amazement and it runs great on a PC I built for tarkov (5800X3D / 4070ti)
Sound: Very good! Each ship has audible-personality! Guns sound good, character sounds good. A+ sound design.
Movement: Character crawls, runs, walks, climbs, jumps as you'd expect. Climbing works! Great job here. Would love a slide, but that's being greedy.
Controls: Default controls are intuitive to new players and very configurable. Basically perfect.
Ships: The ships are the star of the show. They are unique, beautiful, ugly, serious, silly, etc. The ships are CHARMING and wonderful. I love my razor, cutlass black & blue, msr, herc, avenger, redeemer, retaliator, and the eclipse (3.22)!
Flight: More involved than No Man's Sky, but simpler than Elite Dangerous. Perfect! (3.22).
Vehicles: Incredible vehicles!
FPS Gear: Great looking suits! Fun weapons. Varied fighting styles. Gear can be dropped almost anywhere.
PvE:
1 - Bounties are fun and can result in cargo to sell!
2 - Mercenary stuff is fun, I hope for more variety in the future.
3 - Running cargo makes sense and works and most importantly: involves risk! Delivery makes sense but pays terrible.
4 - Salvage: Did a session on a reclaimer as a box-stuffer. Boring but lucrative, not a fan.
5 - Investigation: cool idea but forced me to EVA in a wreck and EVA just about made this 25 year gaming + vr veteran hurl.
6 - Pay for all jobs is a bit low given what you can make doing cargo or salvage.
PvP:
1 - Is rarely fair - as it should be in an mmo. Rock Paper Scissors, outnumbering, surprise, and gear all play a part as they should. I can't believe they made space-dayz!
2 - Ruthless - perfect! Winner takes all! Day-Z/Tarkov/Rust players, this is the space game for you!
3 - Piracy. Real actual piracy. You lie in wait, ambush someone, take their cargo, sell it to a fence. BRAVO. No game has ever got this right until SC.
Crime:
1 - Can buy your way out of minor stuff - awesome!
2 - People get bounty missions for you and will wait for you outside the hangar doors: cool!
3 - You can HACK THE POLICE DB AND CLEAR YOURSELF?!? Amazing. 10/10.
4 - Jail - which can be reduced with labor, or more crime, or via escape. Awesome!
The Community. SC wouldn't be here without devoted (and spendy) players who are willing to put up with bugs and problems. Most are helpful in general chat. Some are scary-good at ship to ship combat (3.22). We didn't expect to like SC players as much as we do.
WHAT'S BAD ABOUT IT:
Servers. Servers. Servers. Everything listed above in the good section fails on the regular. You fall through those beautiful environments and die. Your quest bugs and fails or can't be completed. NPCs stand still or hover in space doing nothing or shoot you through objects and you die. Massive desync between players. We have to regularly confirm "ARE YOU ON THE ELEVATOR?!" before we push the button it's so bad. Crashes. So many crashes. Everything good or bad about Star Citizen takes a backseat to the very very poor server performance. People regularly run with r_displayinfo 1 on to monitor the server health - that is NOT good for any phase of a game from Alpha to Beta to finished. THIS PROBLEM CLOUDS EVERYTHING.
Flight (3.23): Completely changed the flight model. Less of a pain for me & my crew since we just got here. We have less to un-learn and re-learn. At first glance though: it seems worse in every way. More complicated without reason in canon or out. More difficult without being more fun. All ships feel less capable than they did 2 weeks ago when we started playing SC. Good ships are now bad etc. I can see why many veteran players who love ship to ship combat are very upset and worried. For now, I avoid ship to ship combat because it seems very broken. Will try again in a few patches.
The Focus: This game has 20 unfinished gameplay loops. There's tons to do but any/all of it may break at any point. It's like every time they have a great idea (and they have TONS of great ideas!) they run off and get it barely-up-and-running, then dash off to the next thing. I've been amazed at all the REALLY BRILLIANT ideas that are 60% implemented in a 10+ year old game...
WHAT'S UGLY ABOUT IT:
The Developers: SC has had a lot of $ come in and many years and it's still very much an alpha. IMO that's a mistake on the devs parts. They could be beta by now, even in this era of 'beta forever' development we should expect more. Focus on fleshing out fewer features and basic functionality, spend more $$ on servers. Get the game to a stable beta - still with some bugs & crashes - but out of Alpha. You have to get out of Alpha. It's been years.
The Devs continue to get away with the weirdest project-management model on earth because of:
The Community: Whether it comes from SC Veterans to noobs like me, criticism is NOT well heard in the SC community. Whatever is in the patch notes is like marching orders from a cult-leader. Any discussion on spectrum or reddit that suggests maybe the game should be more functional by now is met with fervor. It's sad because you guys deserve better than this, and these devs can definitely do better!
Recent examples: Helldivers2 publisher almost forced a bad 'feature' in, the players stood up for themselves and said "NO!" and the devs/publisher reconsidered (and that fight continues). Tarkov was exposed for its absurd level of cheating last year, and subsequently tried to change the rules of purchase & up the price. Tarkov players logged off in droves and the company reversed course (and that fight continues). We did this BECAUSE WE LOVE THE GAME.
You are the customer! SC-Devs are creating this beautiful work of art, but it's a work of art they hope to sell you, therefore: you have a SAY. You can complain, you can criticize, you can dislike a new direction. It won't kill the Devs. It will make the game better!
As of right now, it's unplayable, but I want to defend that a little. 3.23 is a big patch for SC. A lot of back-end stuff seems to have changed, and some major front-end stuff is totally different. I've barely been able to complete a quest, run cargo, fight anything, go anywhere, look in my backpack, or drink a space-gatorade. I've seen this happen with many games from WoW on up to Tarkov.
With Tarkov throwing away thousands of players and untold SCU's of good will, I had this thought: if star-citizen was beta and not alpha, it might have just picked up tens of thousands of players this month. It didn't because it doesn't have enough servers. Cue the sc-beliebers devsplaining why future quantum server meshing technology will save the day and just spending some more of their smaug-horde on servers won't help. ;)
