2024.05.29 00:56 Worldly_Trip5864 Top 10 highest DPS heroes

I got bored, so I decided to find 10 heroes in the game who have an overall dps that's above 100 ON PAPER. This is by just adding up all of their skills/base attack/hero spell dps' (skill dps is damage/cooldown), so obviously this dps in practice is gonna be much lower, and it doesn't account for AoE skills/instakills, so again take that into account. I also may be missing a hero or two, but I doubt it. Another thing is that this won't account for things that could decrease a heroes dps like a skill's animation time, but that's pretty rare.
10 - Dante
With a total DPS of 103.6, Dante barely manages to make it into the top 10, by having a total dps that is 1.2 higher than the runner up, King Denas. He gets this dps by having a 57 dps base attack, 21.6 dps Silver Bullet, and 25.3 dps Akimbo Style. But, he misses out on 9th place by an even closer margin somehow.
9 - Faustus
With a total DPS of 103.8, he also narrowly makes it to this placement. He gets his dps from 78.8 dps base attack, 14.5 dps Dragon Lance, 5.25 dps Liquid Fire, and 5.25 dps Dragon Rage. Liquid Fire and Dragon Rage are both AoE skills, so this dps in practice could be larger, but we ain't counting that for this.
8 - Margosa
With a total dps of 113.8, Margosa only gets this dps when she is in her beast form, where her base attack changes to 73-109, and has an attack speed of 0.8 seconds.
7 - Bruce
Barely making it into this spot with a dps of 114 we have Bruce. Bruce gets this spot with 49.5 from basic attack, 11.7 AND 22.5 from Sharp Claws, 14.25 from Greivous Bites, and 16 dps from Guardian Lions. The calcultion for sharp claws is quite simple, as it adds 45 to Bruce's base attacks for 5 seconds, which adds up to 225 damage, and due to sharp claws having a 10% chance to activate, it'll activate roughly every 10 seconds.
6 - Durax
Now I'm not completely confident with this one, but Durax gets into this spot with a DPS of 129.6. He gets this with a 21 from base attack, 8.2 from Armblade, 10.2 from Lethal Prism, 6.9 from Shard Lance, and 56.7 from Crystallites. Again, I'm not 100% sure about this calc, but I remember doing this with a friend a while back so I'm sure it's accurate somewhat.
5 - Murglun
Again, barely making it into this spot with a dps of 130.3 we have Murglun. This comes from 42.2 with base attack, 51 from Magma Blood, 30 from Lava Pool, and 7.1 from Infernal Heat. The Magma Blood was kinda tricky, as it has a random attack speed every time you boot up the level that dictates it's DPS, but eventually just decided to find the avg attack speed of that instead to simplify things. Again for Lava Pool, it has a higher dps on paper but it very rarely achieves this dps due to the pools having such a small Aoe, so I gave it a generous 30 dps instead. Still, super high dps while also having 2 instakills and a passive tower buff. Again, Lava Pool, Magma Blood, and Infernal Heat are all AoE skills, so in practice it can have a higher dps.
4 - Bruxa
Another kinda big jump in DPS here we have Bruxa with a dps of 141.5. She gets this with 23 from basic attack, 50 from her skulls (assuming Bone Dance and Laughing Skulls are both maxed out), 38.5 with Skull Sacrifice, and 30 from Voodoo Doll. So again, we're assuming that Bruxa always has maximum skulls, which can be a bit unreasonable when you take into account Skull Sacrifice, but its still pretty accurate for the most part.
3 - Doomtank
Now for the big 3, first we have Doomtank with an impressive dps of 145. He gets this with 48.2 with basic attack, 16 from Heat Missiles, 3 from Ground Slam, 30 from Expendables, 4 from Scorching Cannon, and 43.8 from Call of the Valkyrie. For Expendables, we are assuming they're always alive, but that's possible due to them not going into melee combat unless you move Doomtank. And you know the drill, Ground Slam, Scorching Cannon, Call of the Valkyrie, and even his base attack have an AoE (a small one however for base attack).
2 - Wilbur
I am super surprised Wilbur didn't get the number 1 spot with his impressive 153.2 dps. He gets 101.3 with basic attack, 8.2 with M.A.D. Missiles, 18.1 from Boom Box, and 25.6 from Pewpew Drones. Super high and super easy DPS, but still isn't quite able to make it to number 1.
1 - Dianyun
Kind of a surprise to me lowkey, but he boasts an impressive dps of 157. He gets this with 70 from base attack, 16.7 from Lightning Strike, and 70.3 from Son of the Storm. No nonsense hero, and I used to think he was a support hero.
So yeah that's the list, again there are always in game ways that'll reduce this on paper dps, but it still can accurately represent how much damage a hero will deal. LMK if I missed a hero or did a calculation wrong.

2024.05.28 21:34 sandman730 CBA Basics

This is based on the CBA, MOU, and various CapFriendly FAQs.
If you have any questions, feel free to comment or message me.
Note: Various games played thresholds may be pro-rated due to the shortened 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. Consult CapFriendly or message me if you have any questions.
All dates below are tentative. Check the schedule for more up-to-date information.

Salary Cap

The upper limit is $87.7M (projected), and the lower limit is $64.7M (projected). Though you are allowed to exceed the upper limit by 10% in the offseason, we will require you to have a plan for how to get back under the cap by the end of the sim.
Resources:

Contracts

For the sake of simplifying contracts, all contract negotiations and signings will be done using average annual value (AAV). Salary structure and signing bonuses will not be considered, with the exceptions of complying with minimum salaries ($775k for the 2023-24 season and beyond) and maximum salaries (an AAV equal to 20% of the current salary cap upper limit).

Basic Definitions

Contract & Roster Limits

During the regular season (before the day of the Trade Deadline) each team may have a maximum of 23 players on their Active Roster and a minimum of 18 skaters and 2 goalies.
Each club may have a maximum of 50 SPCs and must have a minimum of 24 players and 3 goalkeepers. In this sim, we will also require each team to have at least 40 SPCs by the end. Players who meet the following conditions do not count towards this contract limit:
  1. Are 18 or 19 years old
  2. Are in a junior league
  3. Have not played 11 NHL games in one season
Note: the roster sheets currently assume every player eligible for this exemption is assigned to Juniors. If you wish to have that player(s) on your opening day roster, please ask me to correct this (as it will affect the number of contract slots you have available).
A club's reserve list (signed players, unsigned draft picks, and defected players) may not exceed 90 players.
Resources:

Buried Contracts

For one-way NHL contracts of players reassigned to the AHL, the player's salary cap hit, minus the sum of the minimum NHL salary (for the respective season) and $375k, still counts towards the team’s salary cap total. This implies up to $1.15M can be buried this season per contract.
If a player signs a multi-year contract at 35 years or older (as of June 30 before the effective contract), the player's cap hit counts against the team's cap hit regardless of whether, or where, the player is active. However, a team will receive a $100k relief off of the team's salary cap hit, if a 35+ contract player is playing in the minor leagues after the first year of their contract.

Entry-Level Contracts

Players younger than 25 as of September 15 of the year of their first NHL contract must sign an ELC, all of which are two-way contracts with a maximum AAV of $950k (players drafted in 2022) or $925k (players drafted before 2022). The length of an ELC depends on the player's age:
European players (players drafted from a team outside North America or undrafted players) ages 25-27 must sign a one-year ELC.
If a player signed to an ELC is 18 or 19 years old and does not play in a minimum of 10 NHL games (including both regular season and playoffs), their contract is considered to "slide", or extend, by one year. Signing bonuses do not slide, which can change the AAV of the player's contract.
Resources:

Contract Length

Clubs may sign a player to an SPC with a term of up to 8 years only if that player was on such club's Reserve List as of and since the most recent Trade Deadline. For UFAs, this right expires when the player hits free agency (i.e., on Sun. June 23rd, 11:59pm ET). Otherwise, the term limit for SPCs is 7 years.

No-Trade Clauses

A No-Move Clause (NMC), No-Trade Clause (NTC), or Modified No-Trade Clause (M-NTC) can be added to a player's contract in the years after they are eligible as a Group 3 player (7 accrued seasons or 27 years old). These clauses restrict the player from being traded without his consent. An NMC also restricts a player from being placed on waivers and assigned to minors without consent. These clauses do not exempt a player from a buyout or contract termination.

Performance Bonuses

Clubs may pay players who meet one of the following criteria a performance bonus:
  1. The player is on an ELC.
  2. The player has signed a one-year contract and is over 35 years old.
  3. The player has signed a one-year contract after returning from a long-term injury (has played 400 or more games, and spent 100 or more days on the Injured Reserve in the last year of their most recent contract).
Performance bonuses count against the cap, however, a team can only exceed the upper limit by a maximum of 7.5% (the overage of which counts towards the next season's cap hit).
Resources:

Group 6 Unrestricted Free Agents

A player whose contract is expiring and meets all of the following conditions shall become a Group 6 UFA:
  1. The player is 25 years or older (as of June 30th).
  2. The player has completed 3 or more professional seasons - qualified by 11 or more professional games (for an 18/19 year old player), or 1 or more professional games (for a player 20 or older) while under an SPC.
  3. The player has played fewer than 80 NHL games for a skater, or 28 NHL games of 30 minutes or greater for a goaltender.

Restricted Free Agents

Qualifying Offers

A qualifying offer (QO) is an official one-year SPC offer. Clubs have until Sun. June 23rd, 5pm ET to submit their QOs. Submitting a QO gives the club the right of first refusal to match any offer sheet submitted, or receive draft pick compensation. If the player rejects the qualifying offer, he will remain an RFA with their rights retained by the club. If a player does not receive a qualifying offer, he becomes a UFA.
A minimum QO is calculated from the player's base salary (excluding all bonuses) as follows:
The QO must be a one-way offer if the following three requirements are met (a goaltender is considered to have played a game if they are on the bench as a backup):
  1. The player played in 180 NHL games in the previous three seasons.
  2. The player played in 60 NHL games in the previous season.
  3. The player did not clear waivers in the previous season.
Qualifying offers expire on Wed. July 10th, 5pm ET.
Note: If an RFA has signed a contract in another league, the NHL club may extend a QO to retain that player's rights. These players are marked on the roster sheets as signed in another league.
Resources:

Offer Sheet Compensation

Only Group 2 and 4 RFAs may be signed to an offer sheet. However, clubs only receive draft pick compensation for Group 2 RFAs.
Compensation must be entirely in the next draft (for this sim: 2025) unless multiple of the same round of pick is required (e.g. two first-rounders). In that case, you may skip one year (e.g. two 1sts could be 2025 and 2026 OR 2025 and 2027 OR 2026 and 2027).
Compensation is determined by the AAV outlined in the offer made by the submitting club. The AAV for an offer sheet, which determines the compensation required, is derived by dividing the total contract value by the lesser of the contract length or 5 years. The AAV thresholds are readjusted each season and are based on the average league salary for that season.
Compensation for the 2024 offseason is as follows:
AAV (1-5 years) AAV (6 years) AAV (7 years) Compensation
$1,415,740 or less $1,179,783 or less $1,011,243 or less No compensation
$1,415,741 - $2,145,061 $1,179,784 - $1,787,551 $1,011,244 - $1,532,186 One 3rd Round Pick
$2,145,062 - $4,290,125 $1,787,552 - $3,575,104 $1,532,187 - $3,064,375 One 2nd Round Pick
$4,290,126 - $6,435,186 $3,575,105 - $5,362,655 $3,064,376 - $4,596,561 One 1st Round Pick, One 3rd Round Pick
$6,435,187 - $8,580,250 $5,362,656 - $7,150,208 $4,596,562 - $6,128,750 One 1st Round Pick, One 2nd Round Pick, One 3rd Round Pick
$8,580,251 - $10,725,314 $7,150,209 - $8,937,762 $6,128,751 - $7,660,939 Two 1st Round Picks, One 2nd Round Pick, One 3rd Round Pick
$10,725,315 or more $8,937,763 or more $7,660,940 or more Four 1st Round Picks
The club that receives an Offer Sheet has 7 days to match the offer or accept the draft pick compensation. If the receiving club matches the Offer Sheet, they are bound to the contract details outlined in the offer, must respect all aspects of the contract (such as any NTCs), and cannot trade that player for 1 year from the date of the contract signing.
Resources:

Buyouts

Teams are permitted to buy out a player's contract to obtain a reduced salary cap hit for twice the remaining length of the contract. The buyout amount is a function of the player's age at the time of the buyout, and is as follows:
The team still takes a cap hit, and the cap hit by year is calculated as follows:
  1. Multiply the remaining salary (excluding signing bonuses) by the buyout amount (as determined by age) to obtain the total buyout cost
  2. Spread the total buyout cost evenly over twice the remaining contract years
  3. Determine the savings by subtracting the annual buyout cost from Step 2. by the player's salary (excluding signing bonuses)
  4. Determine the remaining cap hit by subtracting the savings from Step 3. by the player's AAV (including signing bonuses)
A player can only be bought out after clearing unconditional waivers. A waiver claim by another team pre-empts the buyout process. If a player has a no-movement clause, the player can reject the option of waivers and proceed directly to the buyout process.
A 35+ contract that is bought out receives no salary cap relief. An injured player (who was injured as a result of his job) is entitled to his remaining salary, so long as such injury continues, and therefore cannot be bought out.
Resources:

Waivers

When a player is reassigned from the NHL to another league, they must pass through waivers (unless they are exempt).
Waiver requests are processed each day at 2pm ET, and are subject to a 24-hour claim period, expiring at 2pm ET the following day.
The sim will have two waiver windows: unconditional waivers (for buyouts) run from Mon. June 17th until Sun. June 23rd and the normal waiver window will run from Thu. July 25th until Sat. August 3rd.
Waiver priority is determined by the lowest percentage of possible standings points at the time of the waiver request (or, when outside the regular season or through October 31st, by the previous season's standings). Tiebreakers: lowest ROW percentage, the fewest number of points in head-to-head games (excluding "odd games"), lowest goal differential per game. Therefore, waiver priority throughout the sim is as follows:
Order Team Order Team Order Team
1 SJS 12 PHI 22 NSH
2 CHI 13 MIN 23 TOR
3 ANA 14 PIT 24 EDM
4 CBJ 15 DET 25 COL
5 MTL 16 WSH 26 BOS
6 UT 17 STL 27 VAN
7 OTT 18 NYI 28 FLA
8 SEA 19 VGK 29 WPG
9 CGY 20 TBL 30 CAR
10 NJD 21 LAK 31 DAL
11 BUF 32 NYR
Resources:

Waiver Exemptions

Age is defined as follows:
For players 20 years or older, the year in which they play their first professional game under an NHL contract is their first year toward the waiver exemption.
Whichever comes first in this table indicates when a player is no longer exempt:
Age Years from Signing (Skaters) NHL Games Played (Skaters) Years from Signing (Goalies) NHL Games Played (Goalies)
18 5 160 6 80
19 4 160 5 80
20 3 160 4 80
21 3 80 4 60
22 3 70 4 60
23 3 60 3 60
24 2 60 2 60
25+ 1 1
There is an exception (to the above) for 18- and 19-year-olds: if a skater plays 11 NHL games or more, the year exemption reduces to 3, and the following two seasons will count against this regardless of games played. For goalies, the year exemption reduces to 4, and the following three seasons will count against this regardless of games played.
Otherwise:
  1. A player does not need to pass through waivers if he has not been on the NHL active roster for a cumulative 30 days since last clearing waivers, and has not played in 10 or more NHL games.
  2. Any player who consented to a Conditioning Loan can be loaned to a minor league club for a maximum of 14 days without passing through waivers.
  3. A player who was previously on long-term injured reserve (LTIR), may be loaned to a minor league club for a maximum of 6 days or 3 games to determine if the player is fit to play. This player does not need to pass through waivers
Examples of players that do or do not require waivers.
Resources:

Long-Term Injured Reserve

There are two approaches to using LTIR for cap relief:
  1. Put the player on LTIR before the season starts. You can be over at the start of the season, but only get relief for how much the contract is over at the time he is placed on LTIR. Note: offseason cap accounting applies.
  2. Put the player on LTIR after the start of the season. You need to be under the cap at the beginning of the season but get full relief.
The LTIR salary relief cannot be used to pay bonuses. Any excess relief does not accumulate.
At this point, the following players are eligible for LTIR: Nicklas Bäckström (WSH), Ryan Ellis (PHI), Ryan Johansen (PHI), Robin Lehner (VGK), Tucker Poolman (VAN), Carey Price (MTL), and Shea Weber (UT). GMs can petition the commissioners to add players to this list, including relevant information such as the player, injury, and timeline for return.
Resources:

Retained Salary Transactions

When a team trades a player, they can retain a part of his salary (and cap hit). The team that retains the salary pays the retained percentage of the salary and retains the percentage of the cap hit (until the contract expires). The following requirements must be met:
  1. The percentage retained cannot exceed 50% of the player’s salary (including all bonuses) and cap hit.
  2. The same percentage must be retained for both the player’s salary and cap hit, and cannot be modified year-to-year. As a result, the same amount must be retained through the remainder of the contract.
  3. All teams are limited to a maximum of 3 retained salary contracts per season.
  4. Teams cannot retain an aggregate amount of more than 15% of the Salary Cap Upper Limit.
  5. Players’ contracts are limited to 2 retained salary transactions per contract.
Once a retained salary transaction occurs, there are various limitations:
Such transactions will require a compelling explanation.

Salary Arbitration

We are not doing salary arbitration as part of this sim. If you feel that a GM and/or agent is negotiating for an RFA in bad faith, contact a commissioner.

Miscellaneous

Performance bonuses count against the cap, however, a team can only exceed the upper limit by a maximum of 7.5% (the overage of which counts towards the next season's cap hit).
Teams may not commit more salary to next season than 110% of the current salary cap (i.e. exceed their tagging space).
Players claimed off waivers cannot be traded to another club (until the termination of the Playoffs of the season in which he was acquired) unless he is first offered on the same terms to the club(s) that previously issued a claim (and the offer has been refused).
If you have any questions, feel free to comment below or DM sandman730. If we need to clarify some things, we will do so.

Hello, can someone please help me solve the following question:
The displayed circuit shows a DC circuit with two voltage sources, Uq1 = 400V and Uq2 = 550V, and five resistors, R1 = 7.5 ohms, R2 = 5.5 ohms, Rv1 = 42 ohms, Rv2 = 13 ohms, and Rv3 = 7 ohms.
In the following task, use Rv = 55 ohms. Rv is the total resistance of the resistors Rv1, Rv2, and Rv3.
Calculate the currents I1, I2, and I3.
My approach so far was to distinguish between 2 cases. The first one where I turn off Uq1 and the second where I turn off Uq2. In both cases I simplify the circuit and then calculate I1. However, I am not able to solve for I2 or I3.
Can anyone please help me with this?

2024.05.28 20:29 MirkWorks The Age of the World Picture by Martin Heidegger (Appendix)

From The Question Concerning Technology
APPENDIX
  1. Such reflection is not necessary for all, nor is it to be accomplished or even found bearable by everyone. On the other hand, absence of reflection belongs to a very great extent to certain definite stages of achieving and moving forward. And yet the questioning belonging to reflection never becomes either groundless or beyond all question, because, in anticipation, it question concerning Being. Being is for it that which is most worthy of questioning. Reflection finds in Being its most extreme resistance, which constrains it to deal seriously with whatever is as the latter is brought into the light of its Being. Reflection on the essence of the modern age puts thinking and decision into the sphere of effective working that belongs to the genuinely essential forces of this age. These forces work as they will, beyond the reach of all everyday valuation. In the face of these forces, there is only a readiness for their decisive issue, or, instead, an evasive turning away into the ahistorical. In this connection, however, it is not sufficient to affirm technology, for example, or, out of an attitude incomparably more essential, to set up “total mobilization” as an absolute once it is recognized as being at hand(*21). It is a matter of constantly grasping in advance the essence of the age from out of the truth of Being holding sway within it; for only thus, simultaneously, is that which is most worthy of questioning experienced, i.e., that which radically carries forward and constrains a creating into the future, out beyond what is at hand, and lets the transformation of man become a necessity springing forth from Being itself. No age lets itself be done away with by a negating decree. Negation only throws the negator off the path. The modern age requires, however, in order to be withstood in the future, in its essence and on the very strength of its essence, an originality and range of reflection for which we of today are perhaps preparing somewhat, but over which we certainly can never gain mastery.
[*21. Heidegger refers here to the central theme of Ernst Jünger’s “Die Totale Mobilmachung,” first published in 1931 as the preliminary sketch for his monumental book Der Arbeiter [The worker] (Hamburg: Hanseatische Verlaganstalt, 1932). Originally, on the basis of his experience of World War I, Jünger sees “total mobilization” as the fundamental characteristic of modern warfare. Primarily a confrontation between man and technology, war shows itself to be a “gigantic labor process” (gigantischer Arbeitsporzess). (See “Die Totale Mobilmachung” in Blatter und Steine [Hamburg: Hanseatische Verlaganstalt, 1934], p. 130.) In the evolution of Junger’s thinking, the meaning of the term “total mobilization” extends itself to denote the phenomenon which for him is the essence modern times: man’s dominating of the earth by means of his technological will. “The war front and the labor front are identical” (Der Arbeiter, p. 109). Viewing Jünger’s thinking in the light of Nietzsche’s, Heidegger understands “total mobilization” as the final realization of the metaphysics of the will to power, or as the final phase of “active nihilism.” See The Question of Being [Zur Seinsfrage], trans. William Kluback and Jean T. Wilde (New York: Twayne, 1958), pp. 41 ff.]
  1. The phrase “ongoing activity” [Betrieb] is not intended here in a pejorative sense. But because research is, in essence, ongoing activity, the industrious activity of mere “busyness” [des blossen Betriebs], which is always possible, gives the impression of a higher reality behind which the burrowing activity proper to research work is accomplished. Ongoing activity becomes mere busyness whenever, in the pursuing of its methodology, it no longer keeps itself open on the basis of an ever-new accomplishing of its projection-plan, but only leaves that plan behind itself as a given; never again confirms and verifies its own self-accumulating results and the calculation of them, but simply chases after such results and calculations. Mere busyness must at all times be combated precisely because research is, in its essence, ongoing activity. If we seek what is scientific in science solely in serene erudition, then of course it seems as though the disowning of practical activity also means the denying of the fact that research becomes ongoing activity, and in that way mounts to its proper level of performance, the more constantly does the danger of mere industriousness grow within it. Finally a situation arises in which the distinction between ongoing activity and busyness not only has become unrecognizable, but has become unreal as well. Precisely this balancing out of the essential and the aberrant into the average that is the self-evident makes research as the embodiment of science, and thus makes the modern age itself, capable of enduring. But whence does search receive the counterpoise to the mere busyness within its ongoing activity?
  2. The growing importance of the publishing business is not based merely on the fact that publishers (perhaps through the process of marketing their books) comes to have the best ear for the needs of the public or that they are better businessmen than are authors. Rather their peculiar work takes the form of a procedure that plans and that establishes itself with a view to the way in which, through the prearranged and limited publication of books and periodicals, they are to bring the world into the picture for the public and confirm it publicly. The preponderance of collections, of sets of books, of series and pocket editions, is already a consequence of this work on the part of publishers, which in turn coincides with the aims of researchers, since the latter not only are acknowledged and given consideration more easily and more rapidly through collections and sets, but, reaching a wider public, they immediately achieve their intended effect.
  3. The fundamental metaphysical position of Descartes is taken over historically from the Platonic-Aristotelian metaphysics and moves, despite its new beginning, within the same question: What is it to be? That this question, formulated in this way, does not come to the fore in Descartes’s Meditations only proves how essentially the change in the answer to it already determines the fundamental position. Descartes’s interpretation of what it is to be and of truth first creates the presupposition underlying the possibility of a theory of knowledge or a metaphysics of knowledge. Through Descartes, realism is first put in the position of having to prove the reality of the outer world, of having to save that which is as such.
The essential modifications of the fundamental position of Descartes that have been attained in German thinking since Leibniz does not in any way overcome that fundamental position itself. They simply expand its metaphysical scope and create the presuppositions of the nineteenth century, still the most obscure of all the centuries of the modern age up to now. Indirectly those modifications confirm the fundamental position of Descartes in a form in which they themselves are almost unrecognizable, though they are not for that reason the less real. In contrast, mere Cartesian Scholasticism, with its rationalism, has lost all power further to shape modern times. With Descartes begins the completion and consummation of Western metaphysics. And yet, because such a consummation is only possible once again as metaphysics, modern thinking has its own greatness.
With the interpretation of man as subiectum, Descartes creates the metaphysical presupposition for future anthropology of every kind and tendency. In the rise of the anthropologies. Descartes celebrates his greatest triumph. Through anthropology the transition of metaphysics into the event of the simple stopping and setting aside of all philosophy is introduced. The fact that Dilthey disavowed metaphysics, that fundamentally he no longer even understood its question and stood helpless before metaphysical logic, is the inner consequence of his fundamental anthropological position. His “philosophy of philosophy” is an outstanding form of the anthropological abrogation - not the overcoming - of philosophy. This is why every anthropology in which previous philosophy is employed at will but is explained as superfluous qua philosophy has the advantage of seeing clearly what is required along with the affirmation of anthropology. Through this, the intellectual situation finds some clarification, while the laborious fabrications of such absurd offshoots as the national-socialist philosophies produce nothing but confusion. The world view does indeed need and use philosophical erudition, but it requires no philosophy, since, as world view, it has already taken over a particular interpretation and structuring of whatever is. But one thing, surely, anthropology cannot do. It cannot overcome Descartes, nor even rise up against him, for how shall the consequence ever attack the ground on which it stands?
Descartes can be overcome only through the overcoming of that which he himself founded, only through the overcoming of modern, and that means at the same time Western, metaphysics. Overcoming means here, however, the primal asking of the question concerning the meaning, i.e., concerning the realm of the projection or delineation, and thus concerning the truth, of Being - which question simultaneously unveils itself as the question concerning the Being of truth.
  1. The concept of world as it is developed in Being and Time is to be understood only from within the horizon of the question concerning “openness for Being” [Da-sein], a question that, for its part, remains closely conjoined with the fundamental question concerning the meaning of Being (not with the meaning of that which is).
  2. What belongs properly to the essence of the picture is standing-together, system. By this is not meant the artificial and external simplifying and putting together of what is given, but the unity of structure in that which is represented [im Vorgestellten] as such, a unity that develops out of the projection of the objectivity of whatever is. In the Middle Ages a system is impossible, for there a ranked order of correspondences is alone essential, and indeed as an ordering of whatever is in the sense of what has been created by God is watched over as his sense of what has been created by God and is watched over as his creature. The system is still more foreign to the Greeks, even if in modern times we speak, though quite wrongly, of the Platonic and Aristotelian “systems.” Ongoing activity in research is a specific bodying-forth and ordering of the systematic, in which, at the same time, the latter reciprocally determines the ordering. Where the world becomes picture, the system, and not only in thinking, comes to dominance. However, where the system is in the ascendancy, the possibility always exists also of its degenerating into the superficiality of a system that has merely been fabricated and pieced together. This takes place when the original power of the projecting is lacking. The uniqueness of the systematic in Leibniz, Kant, Fichte, Hegel, and Schelling - a uniqueness that is inherently diverse - is still not grasped. The greatness of the systematic in these thinkers lies in the fact that it unfolds not as in Descartes out of the subject as ego and substantia finita, but either as in Leibniz out of the monad, or as in Kant out of the transcendental essence of finite understanding rooted in the imagination, or as in Fichte out of the infinite I, or as in Hegel out of Spirit as absolute knowledge, or as in Schelling out of freedom as the necessity of every particular being which, as such a being, remains determined through the distinction between ground and existence.
The representation of value is just as essential to the modern interpretation of that which is, as is the system. Where anything that is has become the object of representing, it first incurs in a certain manner a loss of Being. This loss is adequately perceived, if but vaguely and unclearly, and is compensated for with corresponding swiftness through the fact that we impart value to the object and to that which is, interpreted as object, and that we take the measure of whatever is, solely in keeping with the criterion of value, and make of values themselves the goal of all activity. Since the latter is understood as culture, values become cultural values, and these, in turn, become the very expression of the highest purposes of creativity, in the service of man’s making himself secure as subiectum. From here it is only a step to making values into objects in themselves. Value is the objectification of needs as goals, wrought by a representing self-establishing within the world as picture. Value appears to be the expression of the fact that we, in our position of relationship to it, act to advance just that which is itself most valuable; and yet that very value is the impotent and threadbare disguise of the objectivity of whatever is, an objectivity that has become flat and devoid of background. No one dies for mere values. We should note, for the sake of shedding light on the nineteenth century, the peculiar in-between position of Harmann Lotze, who at the same time that he was reinterpreting Plato’s Ideas as values undertook, under the title Microcosmos, that Attempt at an Anthropology (1856) which still drew sustenance for the nobility and straightforwardness of its mode of thinking from the spirit of German idealism, yet also opened that thinking to positivism. Because Nietzsche’s thinking remains imprisoned in value representation, he has to articulate what is essential for him in the form of a reversal, as the revaluation of all values. Only when we succeed in grasping Nietzsche’s thinking independently of value representation do we come to a standing-ground from which the work of the last thinker of metaphysics becomes a task assigned to questioning, and Nietzsche’s antagonism to Wagner becomes comprehensible as the necessity of our history.
  1. Correspondence [Die Entspechung], thought as the fundamental characteristic of the Being of whatever is, furnishes the pattern for very specific possibilities and modes of setting the truth of this Being, in whatever has being, into the work. The art work of the Middle Ages and the absence of a world picture in that age belong together.
  2. But did not a sophist at about the time of Socrates dare to day, “Man is the measure of all things, of those that are [der seienden], that they are, of those that are not, that they are not?” Does this statement of Protagoras not sound as though Descartes were speaking? Most importantly, is it not true that the Being of whatever is, is grasped by Plato as that which is beheld, as of whatever is, is grasped by Plato as that which is beheld, as idea? Is the relation to what is as such not for Aristotle theoria, pure beholding? And yet it is no more the case that this sophistic statement of Protagoras is subjectivism than it is that Descartes could carry into execution nothing but the overturning of Greek thought. Certainly, through Plato’s thinking and through Aristotle’s questioning, a decisive change takes place in the interpretation of what is and of men, but it is a change that always remains on the foundation of the Greek fundamental experience of what is. Precisely as a struggle against sophism and therefore in dependency upon it, this changed interpretation is so decisive that it proves to be the end of Greek thought, an end that at the same time indirectly prepare the possibility of the modern age. This is why Platonic and Aristotelian thinking has been able to pass for Greek thinking per se, not only in the Middle Ages but throughout the modern age up to now, and why all pre-Platonic thinking could be considered merely a preparation for Plato. It is because from long habituation we see Greek thinking through a modern humanistic interpretation that it remains denied to us to ponder the Being that opened itself to Greek antiquity in such a way as to leave to it its uniqueness and its strangeness. Protagoras’ statement runs: Panton chrematon metron estin athropos, to men onton hos estin, ton de me onton hos ouk estin (cf. Plato, Theaetus, 152). *23
“Of all things (those, namely, that man has about him in customary use, and therefore constantly, chremata chresthai) the (particular) man is the measure, of those that presence, that they presence as they presence, but also of those to which it remains denied to presence, that they do not presence.” That which is whose Being stands ready for decision is here understood as that which presence of itself within this sphere, within the horizon of man. But who is man? Plato gives details concerning this in the same place, when he has Socrates say: Oukoun houtos pos legei, hos hoia men hekasta emoi phainetai, toiauta men estin emoi, hoia de soi toiauta de au soi’ anthropos de su te kai ego: *24 “Does he (Protagoras) not understand this somewhat as follows? Whatever at a given time anything shows itself to me as, of such aspect is it (also) for me; but whatever it shows itself to you as, such is it in turn for you. You are a man as much as I.”*25
Man is here, accordingly, a particular man (I and you and he and she). And this ego is not supposed to coincide with the ego cogito of Descartes? Never. For everything essential, i.e., that which determines with equal necessity the two fundamental metaphysical positions in Protagoras and Descartes, is different in the two. What is essential in a fundamental metaphysical position embraces:
  1. The manner and mode in which man is man, i.e., is himself; the manner of the coming to presence [Wesensart] of selfhood, which is not at all synonymous with I-ness, but rather is determined out of the relation to Being as such
  2. The interpretation of the coming to presence [Wesensauslegung] of the Being of whatever is
  3. The delineation of the coming to presence [Wesensentwurf] of truth
  4. The sense in which, in any given instance, man is measure
None of these essential moments in a fundamental metaphysical position may be understood apart from the others. Each one always betokens, from the outset, the whole of a fundamental metaphysical position. Precisely why and in what respect these four moments sustain and structure in advance a fundamental metaphysical position as such is a question that can no longer be asked or answered from out of metaphysics and by means of metaphysics. It is a question that is already being uttered from out of the overcoming of metaphysics.
To be sure, for Protagoras, that which is does remain related to man as ego. What kind of relation to the I is this? The ego tarries within the horizon of the unconcealment that is meted out to it always as this particular unconcealment. Accordingly, it apprehends everything that presences within this horizon as something that is. The apprehending of what presences is grounded in this tarrying within the horizon of unconcealment. Through its tarrying [das Verweilen] in company with what presences, the belongingness of the I into the midst of what presences is. This belonging to what presences in the open fixes the boundaries between that which presences and that which absents itself. From out of these boundaries man receives and keeps safe the measure of that which presences and that which absents. Through man’s being limited to that which, at any particular time, is unconcealed, there is given to him the measure that always confines a self to this or that. Man does not, from out of some detached I-ness, set forth the measure to which everything that is, in its Being, must accommodate itself. Man who possesses the Greeks’ fundamental relationship to that which is and to its unconcealment is metron (measure [Mass]) In that he accepts restriction [Massigung] to the horizon of unconcealment that is limited after the manner of the I; and he consequently acknowledges the concealedness of what is and the insusceptibility of the latter’s presencing or absenting to any decision, and to a like degree acknowledges the insuspectibility to decision of the visible aspect of that which endures as present. Hence Protagoras says (Diels, Fragmente der Vorsokratiker: Protagoras B, 4): *Peri men theon ouk echo eidenai, outh hos eisin, outh hous ouk eisin, outh hopoioi tines idean. **27 “I am surely not in a position to know anything (for the Greek, to have anything in ‘sight’) regarding the gods, neither that they are nor that they are not, nor how they are in their visible aspect (idea).”
Polla gar ta koluonta eidenai, he t’ adelotes kai brachus on ho bios tou anthropou.*28 “For manifold is that which prevents the apprehending of whatever is as what it is, i.e., both the nondisclosedness (concealment) of what is and the brevity of man’s historical course.”
Need we wonder that Socrates, considering Protagoras’ circumspection, says of him, Eikos mentoi sophon andra me lerein: “We may suppose that he (Protagoras), a sensible man, (in his statement about man as metron) is not simply babbling on.”
The fundamental metaphysical position of Protagoras is only a narrowing down, but that means nonetheless a preserving, of the fundamental position of Heraclitus and Parmenides. Sophism is possible only on the foundation of sophia, i.e., on the foundation of the Greek interpretation of Being as presencing and of truth as unconcealment - an unconcealment that itself remains an essential determination of Being, so that what presences is determined from out of unconcealment and presencing is determined from out of unconcealedness in its particularity. But just how far removed is Descartes from the beginning of Greek thinking, just how different is the interpretation of man that represents him as subject? Precisely because in the concept of the subiectum the coming to presence of Being as experienced by the Greeks - the hypokeisthai of the hypokeimenon - still resounds in the form of a presencing that has become unrecognizable and unquestioned (namely, the presencing of that which lies fixedly before), therefore the essence of the change in fundamental metaphysical position is to be seen from out of that coming to presence of Being.
It is one thing to preserve the horizon of unconcealment that is limited at any given time through the apprehending of what presence (man as metron). It is another to proceed into the unlimited sphere of possible objectification, through the reckoning up of the representable that is accessible to every man and binding for all.
All subjectivism is impossible in Greek sophism, for here man can never be subiectum; he cannot become subiectum because here Being is presencing and truth is unconcealment.
In unconcealment fantasia comes to pass: the coming-into-appearance, as a particular something, of that which presences - for man, who himself presences toward what appears. 2024.05.28 18:18 Great_Sleep_802 Looking for a VERY simple and free budget/spending app

I'm looking for the most simple of simple money apps to do something most folks would do on paper, in their heads, or just using a note in their phone.
I do not need this app to link to banks or credit cards. The only function I require is a basic balance sheet for someone that cannot do simple math in their heads or with a calculator.
To explain further, let's say the person has $200 spending money after all expenses each month.
I'm trying to find them an app that will let them plug in the amount $200, then plug in the total from any spending showing them the balance of what they have left at the bottom.
Really, I'm looking for an excel page that doesn't have all the tool bars, and you can't accidentally erase numbers you've already added. Unless there is a way for me to simplify a spread sheet for them? I'm game to set that up for them if someone can point me towards a blog or youtube tutorial I can watch.
Any free apps I've found for them online have been far more complex than what's needed. As this type of basic budgeting is something I personally would just do in my head or sribble a note down for it, I'm at a loss to find the type of simplicity I'm looking for online.
I would very much appriciate any suggestions or ideas, thank you!

2024.05.28 15:53 ronc4u Insights on the Google Panda Update [Two Patents Explored]

Just came across some fascinating insights about the Google Panda update. It got me hooked, and I couldn't resist diving deeper into the two patents related to it.
Why the Panda update? Because that's where the story sort of started if I'm not wrong.
Starting with the first one:
"The system generates a modification factor for the group of resources from the count of independent links and the count of reference queries (step 306). For example, the modification factor can be a ratio of the number of independent links for the group to the number of reference queries for the group. That is, the modification factor (M) can be expressed as:
M=IL/RQ,
where IL is the number of independent links counted for the group of resources and RQ is the number of reference queries counted for the group of resources."
A few definitions first:
Independent links = number of unique referring AND unrelated domains (or a calculated score from the same)
Reference queries = queries like "what is SEO reddit" or "what is SEO site:reddit(dot)com" or where the query has been categorized as a navigational one when the user selection crosses the threshold for a particular site.
Associated queries = queries where the user selected the particular site served as a search result.
Resources = web pages on a particular domain, a subdomain, or any other relation based on which the grouping is done.
Initial Score (of a resource) = based on the relevance and/or the quality of the document. Let's call it 'is-score'.
So when you search for something and the results are retrieved from the index database, a modification score is attached to their initial score.
But how is that modification score derived for that particular resource (or web page)? From the Group Modification Factor (let's call it the 'gm-score') mentioned above.
There are some tricky mathematical calculations that happen in the background.
To simplify it:
The gm-score is applied to the is-score in phases depending on the threshold level it currently falls in. That is, the higher the is-score already determined in the last calculation, the lower the gm-score applied to it.
What does this mean?
If you have lots of unique referring domains—based on the quality tier they fall in, you will see a boost in the SERPs and thus, help maximize brand exposure. (Or at least a chance to prove your worth to the Google users.)
Now, we come to the second stage.
Here is where the NavBoost system, which helps re-rank results on click logs of user behavior, will come into play. This is often said to be one of the strongest ranking signals of all.
That leads us to another patent that discusses a system for determining the number of user selections of search results presented in response to queries categorized as "referring to a particular site."
"The system determines a site quality Score for the particular site (206). The site quality score can be determined by computing a ratio of a numerator and a denominator, where the numerator is based on the count of unique queries that are categorized as referring to the particular site, and where the denominator is based on the count of unique queries that are associated with the particular site."
The site quality score can be roughly determined as a function involving the number of queries referring to the site as the numerator and the number of queries associated with the site as the denominator.
In other words, if Google users, after being exposed to your brand, steadily select it and become loyal fans, then your site quality will improve.
That is, your site is worth keeping high up in the SERPs.
TAKEAWAYS:
⤿ Build high-quality backlinks from diverse domains to rank higher in the SERPs (if you are the new kid in the block).
⤿ Create high-quality content that makes your users loyal fans once they come across your site in the SERPs.
Frankly speaking, it looks like SEO fundamentals to me.
(For the curious, you can check the patents "Ranking search results" and "Site quality score" in the comments.)

2024.05.28 13:32 ProxySeller Creating and setting your own 4G/5G mobile proxies

Creating and setting your own 4G/5G mobile proxies
To begin with, it's worth finding out what a mobile proxy is. It is a type of proxy that you get from the regular SIM card of a mobile operator, and the type of connection here can also be different - 3G/4G/5G. Just like regular server proxies, mobile proxies act as an intermediary between the user and the endpoint of the connection, and the feature is that you use the network of the mobile operator and the SIM card itself to connect. And the key difference from server proxies here is that you get not static proxies, but a separate pool of rotating IP addresses. Mobile IP proxies are designed in such a way that IP addresses from mobile providers will be in continuous rotation, therefore, IP addresses will be constantly changed to new ones, which opens up unique opportunities if such proxies are used correctly.
Now, with this information in hand, we can deal with more detailed questions, specifically what is a mobile proxy farm and how to create your own mobile proxy.

Why should you create your own mobile proxy?

Creating your own mobile proxy can be a valuable venture, particularly for those looking to resell IP addresses. These farms are often demanded by medium to large companies that require a significant number of IP addresses. Quite often medium or even large businesses consider creating mobile 4G proxy farms in case they need a large number of IP addresses, as mobile proxy farms are not only cost-effective but also have a very high trust factor and are comparable only to residential proxies. While residential proxies are tied to traffic, mobile proxies have unlimited bandwidth, and this becomes a key factor in calculating costs. The rotation capabilities of a single mobile proxy allow for obtaining a thousand IP addresses per day without traffic limits, making them highly efficient in the market. The larger the business size, the more tangible the economic benefit of mobile proxies becomes for the company since the pay-per-traffic model of residential proxies will be less cost-effective for their high-volume IP address needs.
Therefore, 4G/5G proxy with rotation not only helps in the data collection process but also gives access to content that is geo-restricted and thus helps mask user activity. A own mobile proxy farm will be useful for such tasks:
  • Cost-Effectiveness: Mobile proxies, with their unlimited bandwidth and rotation capabilities, offer a cost-effective solution, especially for businesses with high-volume IP address needs.
  • Geo-Targeting: Mobile proxy farm gives you the ability to customize more precise display of ads based on specific countries and regions, according to the location of the key audience.
  • Product Data Scraping: Mobile proxies enable point-by-point collection of product information, such as availability and price in specific regions, aiding in market discovery and trend analysis.
  • Testing Applications: 4G/5G mobile proxies provide opportunities to test applications and websites in specific regions, ensuring functionality and performance.
  • Network Activity Management: Within a company, mobile proxies can monitor traffic among employees, enhancing security and increasing productivity.
So if you're considering building your own 4G mobile proxy farm, this is an issue that deserves your attention, because you get personalized access to an entire farm with impressive features and no traffic limits. Mobile proxies continue to grow daily, opening up many new opportunities in a wide variety of industries. And for business solutions, mobile proxies are an integral tool that enables a variety of strategies.

What do you need to create a mobile proxy?

In answering the question of how to create your own mobile proxy, we need to consider all the components and equipment that will be required for such a purpose. To create a 4G/LTE mobile proxy you will need:
  • SIM card: You need to choose the right operator, with the tariff plans you need.
  • Modem/smartphone: The SIM card requires an activation and connection device. Each SIM card requires one modem, but you can also use a regular smartphone with 5G capabilities as a modem, and this feature will also be available on our service soon.
  • Hub: You will also need a USB hub, ideally with 10 to 20 ports. You will need this connect hub to accommodate your modems with SIM cards.
  • PC/Server: Any personal computer is required but with a Linux operating system installed on it. A TV tuner is also a good cost-effective option. Usually, modern models are built on hardware that can support multiple modems. In terms of cost, they will also cost less than PCs or servers.
  • Mobile Proxy Control Panel: A special panel will also be required for modem management, which makes it easier to manage traffic and optimize the performance of proxy servers.

Mobile Proxy Control Panel Overview and Features

2024.05.28 13:09 Nearby_Log_2642 What Documents are Needed to Pay BDA Property Tax?

As a property owner in Bangalore, it is essential to familiarize yourself with the process of paying your BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) property tax. The Bangalore Development Authority is responsible for the urban planning and development of Bangalore city and collects property tax from property owners as a source of revenue to fund these projects. To simplify the process and promote transparency, the BDA has introduced an online system for Bengaluru's residents to pay their property taxes. In this article, we will cover the crucial documents you will need for paying your BDA property tax.
Property Identification Documents
The most fundamental set of documents necessary for paying BDA property tax are the property identification documents. These documents must have critical details about your property, such as the location, area, block, and street number. These include:
1. Property title deed:
This legal document is essential proof that you own the property and have the right to pay the taxes for it.
2. Khata Certificate:
The Khata certificate is issued by the BDA and indicates that the property owner has an account for paying property tax. It contains essential information like the size, location, and built-up area of the property.
Previous Payment Receipts
Having a record of your previous BDA property tax payments is necessary since it is used as a reference for calculating your present tax. These receipts will contain relevant details such as the tax paid, the property's assessed value, and the tax rate applied.
Property’s Built-up Area and Property Usage Documents
The built-up area and property usage documents are additional documentation needed to calculate your BDA property tax accurately. Taxes may differ based on whether the property is used for residential, commercial, or industrial purposes.
Building Plan Approval
If you own a building, you will need to provide the building plan approved by the BDA or any other competent authority. The approved plan acts as a baseline document indicating the building's authorized built area, usage, floor details, and age. Based on this, the BDA property tax calculation will differ.
Encumbrance Certificate
An Encumbrance Certificate (EC) is another valuable document, especially if your property has changed hands. It provides evidence that your property is free from any financial or legal liabilities. The EC ensures the BDA that the property tax they receive is not under any dispute.
The Online Process
Property tax facilities provided by the BDA have gone digital, with a dedicated online portal named "BDAPay" to make things easier for taxpayers. The documents outlined above may need to be scanned and uploaded onto this portal for online property tax payments. It would be best to have digital copies of these documents for seamless payments.
Conclusion
Equipped with all the necessary documents listed above, the process of paying your BDA property tax should be a manageable task, be it online or offline. The transparency provided by the BDA allows taxpayers to have clarity and ease while fulfilling their tax obligations. Even though it might initially seem cumbersome, managing the documents properly will simplify the whole process and will keep you up to date with your property tax payments.
Nevertheless, it is your responsibility as a citizen to ensure timely payment of your BDA property tax. The funds collected through property tax are crucial for the continued development and maintenance of the city’s infrastructure. When paying your taxes, remember that you are contributing towards making Bangalore a better place to live.

2024.05.28 13:01 GigaGleb Just 1 reason why Direct to Cell (from Starlink) will be not every smartphone!

Just 1 reason why Direct to Cell (from Starlink) will be not every smartphone!
Let's look at simplified picture from Starlink "Direct to cell" site:
https://www.starlink.com/business/direct-to-cell
According to that picture and other information from site, Starlink satellite will has dual role.
Satellite can transmit/receives signal from the current Starlink terminals (dish) and can transmit/receive signal from unmodified cell phone.
Pay an attention to the word "unmodified". What does it mean?
Unmodified cell phone – this is just regular smartphone, capable of working only with specific frequency bands. Usually range from 450MHz to 3500MHz.
Whereas nowadays Starlink service works in completely different frequencies about 10000 to 12000MHz. There is no support for such frequencies for any mobile smartphone and T-mobile (or any other partners) doesn’t have license to radiate in that range as well. What does it mean? It means that current Starlink service and future "Direct to cell" service are completely different systems. Yes, they both could use the same satellites/ground gateways but from technical point of view they are different.
LTE network is a fully terrestrial network, which means that everything was initially designed to serve mobile users within the cell range (max about 30 km) and with max user speed about 500km/s. All protocols, timings, radio equipment features, antennas, user terminals were specified and developed under those assumptions.
On the other hand, LEO satellites are moving with 15 km per second(!), distance from around 300 to 900km from the Earth surface, large cell size about 50-500km (as they have large beam footprint from satellite). Plus, other multiple challenges from weather conditions impact to extremely high attenuation of signal.
Not taking into account the fact that uplink direction is always a bottleneck even in mobile networks because smartphone (user equipment) usually has 0.2W maximum power to transmit signal to the direction of base station whereas base station usually has >20W maximum power to transmit signal in downlink direction to the smartphone. Not talking about batteries, size, antennas and so on…
So, user terminals are always a bottleneck. How exactly Starlink satellite are going to receive extremely weak signal from low power smartphone – it is hard to imagine. But according to what I could find in the Internet they managed to design super sensitive special antenna and put it on board of new generation satellites to be able to receive insanely weak signal from users.

Heads up that among these 3 films, i've only seen 2017 belle once and have only watched clips and songs from time to time since then.
Sure who am i to comment about the films if i have not seen it ?
But the truth is the clips ALONE are bad enough for me to lose the desire and interest to watch them.
So if you are a huge fan of these live action films, i suggest you leave now cause i'm pretty stubborn and upset by them.
Other than letting out my disappointment, I stupidly hope that somehow someone in the industry ends up reading this and maybe consider the opinions.
Terribly sorry for the next amateur and subjective words and think again if you're the live action fan.
Here goes nothing.
https://preview.redd.it/1wk5n30jx43d1.jpg?width=1554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=34df33f093a0eca4c3734377325e8f937cb4d3c6
Beauty and the beast
2 problems, the songs and the portray of belle.
First of all, the songs.
I was thrilled by how they kept the classical orchestra music when the trailer came out.
But boy was i glad that i did not go to the theaters after watching it on rent DVD.
Didn't know nor notice the auto tune back then but it sounded so off that I had to mute every song to keep watching after the'' ahhhh'' in ''little town''.
Emma's voice was dead and flat while you can actually hear her smiling in Paige's ver especially the line '' there goes the baker with his tray like always''
And don't even get me started on the long notes.
I thought about that it may be due to emma's natural voice is rustier and less feminine than Paige's, which makes an acceptable excuse for me.
But after looking up for the jp ver (since i speak jp and always have enjoyed them), case closed for me.
Emma just didn't take ENOUGH vocal lessons to pull off her role.
Here are the 3 vers of '' new~~'' in ''something there'' and BRAVO for the jp ver in spite of having similar voices to emma.
1991 ver 2017 ver eng 2017 ver jp
I suffered the other songs too.
The rapping-like syllable don't fit in the classical orchestra music►gaston''neck''line
The cheesy accent i dreaded in ''be our guest''►Lumiere
Voice slightly too thin (strained?) and motherly for a hollow pot singing many long notes in a hollow ballroom with heavy orchestra ►tale as old as time.
ps. i read a comment under the video saying they changed the counts of this song.
I mean yes it's nicely done but instead of telling Emma.T to sing more long notes in her gentle voice, they should have added more lyrics/words to fill the blanks or even simplified the music.
I personally like this version better when they are table reading. Matches her voice better :)
The dance could have taken place in somewhere less luxurious to make sense to the simple music, showing how belle cared nothing but beast.
https://preview.redd.it/xfe1hyp4y43d1.jpg?width=2677&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca52a6a84cf4f805098e336f30416aa87fd809ed
Solution?
Have a qualified someone to dub for belle of course!!
Don't be too proud to admit that you can't sing.
You're an actress, noone's gonna judge!
In fact, ppl may even praise you for knowing your limits and allowing others to shine (a ''sacrifice'' for art) like ''never enough'' in ''the greatest showman''
https://preview.redd.it/umigxt36y43d1.jpg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f212ab0d86ddd1093073ac304a5b366db70db751
But hands down for gaston's ''barge~~~''
THIS is the level i'm seeking in a musical movie!!
Secondly, how Emma portrays belle.
Looking back on some interviews, comments and ''belle'' clips, I understand that she intends to be a more ''boyish'' belle to promote ''female rights''?
But i think either disney casted wrongly or emma's execution was problematic.
Yes Emma does resemble the 1991 belle but she gives me a cold and icy vibe while belle is warm and elegant from the very beginning
https://preview.redd.it/jc35s9c8y43d1.jpg?width=2706&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=355701193d5d3828c8f4f776ec6c640a3f475f1a
Remember how 1991 belle bowed gracefully to villagers saying hi and how she talks to the busy chef who don't care?
She only shuts herself out when reading and enjoying a book.
https://preview.redd.it/2gyh2zk9y43d1.jpg?width=2466&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=afe478d5825e651c20db2a5afcc57855b4090d4b
On the other hand, emma's belle walks and dresses like a peasant, sings horribly and ''looks at '' a book.
Sorry to be so shallow about 2017 belle, commenting only her visual and audio performances, but i just don't see a born-to-be princess Belle there.
https://preview.redd.it/8zwf5ykay43d1.jpg?width=2234&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3aa2cadb89ab57469d2df3ef43b71237c3d49b06
And hey the nice straight princess posture SHOULD NOT be used when belle is reading a book.
Try to understand the role!
https://preview.redd.it/nkhdtbidy43d1.jpg?width=3303&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ceba4aa0ca7a035a3c14170db1194b0a91a4ec73
I think that she went too far on the ''boyish'' road on the basis of how the storyline almost remained unchanged from the animation.
Here's the UGH that bugs me the most from ''belle reprise''.
I mean why does belle have to be so un-lady like to ignore artistic beauty to become a power icon?
Disney had already switched ariel's and belle's voice actresses back then to make belle not a girl but a woman.
And she was already brave enough to speak for herself in the 1991 ver so she's pretty much an icon to me.
There are plenty of ways to express your anger without losing artistic grace.
You could simply ''ugh'' before singing or a more restrained one will do.
Here's a scene i came up with myself,
Belle screams into a pillow before flinging it around and tearing it.
Then, among the drifting feathers, she sits there, staring into space or staring hard at an object before running outside with a firm look and a gleam in her eyes.
COME ON even i could come up with this transition.
If you want to convey your new message by only changing one main character, find the perfect balance between ''boyish'' and ''belle''.
Otherwise, either stick to the original or change it from the root!!
Have the writer to make some big differences of the story line.
Even ''killing ppl'' can look so mental and cute with the flowers at the same time
( Harley Quinn from DC )
Not to mention how angelina jolie took ballet lessons to fight like a goddess in marvel '' the eternals''
https://preview.redd.it/2qdoj3hgy43d1.jpg?width=3483&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fbd82a31d512f3ecea96e0269c7fe5a9281b4552
Such a waste on the orchestra, the backgrounds and the costumes!!
ps. I know that there's something wrong with the dress
and although i agree it's not a wow like ella's, i think it's acceptable and love the clever way to pay respect to the ballroom ceilings (an animation industrial landmark back in the 1990s) by adding golden lining!!
https://preview.redd.it/adl8a25qy43d1.jpg?width=3178&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=622967bfcff28c62006a1a64dc5f2971d845b51e
Aladdin
My main problem with it is the computer music.
I've seen bits and pieces on tv and i have to say good job and what a cute couple:)
https://preview.redd.it/6asau526053d1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4ac8a7297224e3f0894b55a19970ec74444739a1
But the music of the song clips is just unappealing to me.
Take ''a whole new world '' my favorite love song for example.
The piano and the surrounding orchestra with Lea's crystal clear voice all make the song breezy, delightful, fairy-tale like and romantic.
But with the computer music and Naomi's strong voice in the 2019 ver,, it's too powerful to be starry and magical for me.
Don't get me wrong though.
There's nothing awfully wrong about Naomi's singing in this song, it's just her natural voice does not quite suit this song.
Here's the jp ver and it sounds better to me with the more feminine and sweet jasmine's voice.
Same goes to the other songs i heard on youtube, the computer music just lacks the magic to isolate me from reality and to drift me away to a faraway Arabian kingdom.
The kind of isolation i'm asking for has been used in disney parks if i remember correctly.
They calculate building heights and design the landscapes to prevent ppl seeing the ''outside world''. And how they deal with the background music gap between 2 different areas (the adequate space between 2 speakers or waterfalls to wash the music out)
Not to mention the staff in there has to act in character and know nothing about modern technology.
https://preview.redd.it/nicg1gf1353d1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09a7801ebc578e9977e6ae89f5b498b084e7491e
Call me grandma for not liking the rock music here but i think it's a pity that they are unable to overcome the different natures of classical orchestra and rock music like they did before.
Cinderella's lavender song, Tangled and frozen songs are all not 100 percent orchestra but i still love them.
Mandy's voice is warm , naive and young so it goes well with guitar.
Kristen's got a standard princess voice, clear and pleasant to the ears so it's ok for the non-100%-classical music in ''love is an open door ''
Idina's high notes are powerful so strong songs about freeing herself (but in fact tiring if heard for a long time in my opinion)
A non-disney love song example i can think of isEd Sherran's ''perfect''in which pop music can be extremely romantic.
But it HAS to be bocelli's version to serenade love in a disney fairy tale (maybe some adjustments to tone the majesticness down a bit but i hope you know what i mean xd)
I mean if it's unable to compete with the 1991 version, then just stick to to original music.
I was really bummed out by how the magic vanished in ''a whole new world''
https://preview.redd.it/svhcm4u7053d1.jpg?width=2674&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=02133864429ed5da974b4d050c15b36c8e1506d0
Thank you all for reaching this part xd
I just don't understand why the live actions have to be a degrade from the animation version i grew up with.
I don't deny that my age may be an issue
https://preview.redd.it/96q0raw8053d1.jpg?width=902&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da8812fcf986d5ec6b43886433e3b3f95780d720
but in fact even with my willingness to see big reasonable changes (example, a non-caucasian ariel) , so far only Cinderella 2015 meets my standards of a wonderful princess remake.
https://preview.redd.it/954g5byh053d1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33b077d62bcb6466c778d3b6cc1cf649b3416759
Don't turn classics into some kind of box office instant rush hit.
Make other classics

2024.05.28 11:50 pamelalewiswriter Unlock Easy Car Loans with EMI Tips

Introduction
Are you dreaming of driving your car but feeling overwhelmed by the financial commitment? Car loans can be a great way to finance your vehicle purchase, making your dream more accessible. One key aspect of managing a car loan is understanding EMIs or Equated Monthly Installments. Let's dive into how you can unlock easy car loans with practical EMI tips.
Understanding Car Loans
Before we get into the nitty-gritty of EMIs, we must grasp the basics of car loans. Car loans are financial products offered by banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) to help individuals purchase vehicles. They can be broadly categorized into two types:
● Secured Loans: These loans are backed by collateral, typically the car itself. If you default, the lender can seize the vehicle.
● Unsecured Loans: These loans do not require collateral but generally come with higher interest rates due to the increased risk for the lender.
What are EMIs?
Definition of EMI
EMI stands for Equated Monthly Installment. It's a fixed payment amount made by a borrower to a lender at a specified date each calendar month. EMIs pay off interest and principal monthly, ensuring the loan is paid in full over a set period.
Car Selling Service
How EMI Works
EMI is calculated using a formula that considers the loan amount, the interest rate, and tenure. The principal portion of the EMI rises over time, whereas the interest component is higher in the early months and progressively falls with each payment.
Factors Influencing Car Loan EMI
Several factors play a crucial role in determining your car loan EMI:
Loan Amount
The total amount borrowed directly impacts the EMI. Higher loan amounts result in higher EMIs.
Interest Rate
The interest rate is a significant determinant of the EMI. Lower interest rates lead to lower EMIs and vice versa.
Loan Tenure
The length of the loan term affects the EMI. Longer tenures reduce the EMI amount but increase the total interest paid over the loan's life.
Online EMI Calculators
Many lenders and financial websites offer online EMI calculators to simplify the process. These tools allow you to instantly input your loan amount, interest rate, and tenure to calculate your monthly EMI.
Benefits of EMI for Car Loans
EMIs make car loans manageable by breaking down the total repayment into smaller, fixed monthly payments. This method of repayment aids in financial planning and budgeting, ensuring you can afford your car without straining your finances.
Tips for Lowering Your Car Loan EMI
Improve Your Credit Score
A higher credit score can help you secure a lower interest rate, reducing your EMI. Reduce your obligations and pay your invoices on time to raise your credit score.
Opt for a Longer Tenure
Extending your loan tenure can lower your monthly EMI. However, this increases the total interest paid over the loan term.
Make a Larger Down Payment
You reduce the principal loan amount by making a larger down payment, leading to a lower EMI.
Compare Different Lenders
Shopping around for the best loan offers can help you find a lender with lower interest rates and better terms, ultimately reducing your EMI.
The Role of Credit Scores in Car Loans
How Credit Score Affects EMI
Your credit score is critical in determining your loan eligibility and interest rate. Higher scores usually mean lower interest rates, translating to lower EMIs.
Tips for Improving Credit Score
To boost your credit score, ensure timely payments of all your bills, keep your credit card balances low, and avoid applying for new credit frequently.
Choosing the Right Lender
Banks vs. NBFCs
While banks typically offer lower interest rates, NBFCs might have more flexible terms. It is imperative that you assess both possibilities in light of your needs and financial condition.
Factors to Consider
When choosing a lender, consider the interest rate, loan tenure, processing fees, and prepayment charges. Also, check customer reviews and the lender's reputation.
Negotiating Better Interest Rates
Importance of Negotiation
Negotiating the interest rate can significantly impact your EMI. Lenders might be willing to offer a better rate, especially if you have a good credit score or a long-standing relationship with the bank.
Strategies for Negotiation
To negotiate effectively, research current market rates, use competing offers as leverage, and be prepared to walk away if the terms are unfavorable.
Prepayment and Foreclosure of Car Loans
Benefits of Prepayment
Prepaying your car loan can save you a substantial amount on interest. It also helps in reducing your debt burden faster.
Charges and Considerations
Before prepaying, check if your lender charges prepayment penalties. Weigh these costs against the interest savings to make an informed decision.
Refinancing Car Loans
What is Refinancing?
Refinancing involves taking a new loan to pay off the existing one. It is usually done for lower interest rates or better terms.
When to Consider Refinancing
Consider refinancing if interest rates have dropped mostly since you took your original loan or if your credit score has improved, qualifying you for better terms.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Over-borrowing
Borrowing more than you can afford can lead to financial strain. Ensure your EMI is at most 10-15 % of your monthly income.
Ignoring Fine Print
Always read the fine print to understand the terms and conditions, fees, and charges associated with the loan.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Car Loans
Pros of Taking a Car Loan
● Enables you to buy a car without full upfront payment.
● Builds your credit score with timely payments.
● Flexible repayment options.
Cons to Consider
● Interest costs increase the total price of the car.
● Defaulting can lead to repossession of the vehicle.
● Additional fees.
Conclusion
Car loans can be a boon, making car ownership accessible and affordable. Understanding EMIs and leveraging tips to lower them can help you confidently navigate the car loan process. Whether improving your credit score, choosing the right lender, or negotiating better rates, these strategies can make your car loan experience smoother and more beneficial.
FAQs
How can I get a low-interest car loan?
To secure a low-interest car loan, maintain a good credit score, compare offers from multiple lenders, and consider making a larger down payment.
Is it better to finance through a bank or a dealer?
Bank financing typically offers lower interest rates, while dealer financing might provide more convenience and faster processing. Compare both options to see which best suits your needs.
Can I get a car loan with bad credit?
Yes, you can, but expect higher interest rates. Consider improving your credit score or finding a co-signer to get better terms.
What happens if I miss an EMI payment?
Missing an EMI payment can lead to late fees, a negative impact on your credit score, and potential repossession of your vehicle if defaults continue.

2024.05.28 07:33 Consistent_Gap_3608 Looking To Shoot My Very First Short Film - I Need Advice On Equipment Needed

Hello!
Complete newbie here in the film industry. I started off as a writer, now I'm looking to shoot my first film. I've done as much research as I can on different camera's, lenses, etc, but so much of this is over my head as a newbie that I am struggling to decide what to do, how to approach things, to get the results I want.
Certain websites like shotdeck.com have helped me understand shots, camera equipment, lighting etc that is used in the films that I am inspired from. Movies like Drive, Bladerunner 2049, etc.
My budget is 20k at the most and 10k at the least.
Looking at the movie Drive, I know that they used an Canon 5D, ARRI ALEXA Classic / plus Zeiss Master Primes, Cooke S4/ i, Angenieux Optimo Zooms.
So far this is my Ebay cart.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/276116321359
https://www.ebay.com/itm/285615758620
I'm not sure if I'm taking the right approach to all of this since I am so new to it all. I know what I want my film to look at, I know the kinds of shots I want and the angles I want to capture. I am just completely lost on the equipment side of things. I feel like an idiot going through ebay selecting ARRI camera's, I just know that the movies that I love the imagery in use the ARRI Camera's and I know that I can get one for $4,000.00 on Ebay.
I know that certain lenses have certain mount compatibility for certain cameras etc. I'm just looking for some guidance on how I can really simplify this entire process and make calculated, smart, well informed decisions instead of throwing money at things that I hope will work out.
I'm a very quick learner and I'm obsessed with getting this done right. If anyone would like to help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks for all of your time everyone! And if you would like to read my screenplay, I'm more than happy to share it with you if it means getting a better idea on the equipment I should use for the shots I'm going for.
THANKS!

2024.05.28 06:42 Thanh-Eboxman What are the steps in creating an e-commerce website?

Step 1. Choose Your Content Management System (CMS) The foundation of any website is its CMS. Your choice depends on your budget, experience, and e-commerce needs. Here are the most popular options:
For website builders like Shopify, Squarespace, Square Online, or Wix, simply register on their website. These platforms often allow direct domain registration, avoiding manual setup.
If your CMS doesn’t offer domain registration, use a domain registrar. For guidance, refer to articles on the best domain registrars. Step 3: Select an E-commerce Theme or Template
Choosing a theme for your website is essential. Themes are pre-made templates that provide a consistent look and feel. Most platforms, including WordPress, Shopify, and Wix, offer a variety of free and paid templates. Paid themes, ranging from $30 to over $200, often feature unique designs that can save customization time. Select a theme that suits your brand and meets your design needs. Step 4. Customize Your Site and Build Out Web Pages After you have found the perfect theme or template for your online store, the next step is to begin customizing it. This is where you will be updating your header and footer, configuring your site’s navigation, and building out pages from your homepage to your refunds and return policy page.
Step 5. Create Product Listings No online store is complete with product listings. So once you have built out your website, the next step is to create your product catalog, complete with all of your individual product listings. In this process be sure to organize and categorize your listings so they are easy for your future site visitors to find and for you to manage. Step 6: Set Up a Payment Gateway, Inventory, and Tax Tools
Choose a Payment Gateway Select a payment gateway like Stripe or PayPal for secure and easy transactions. Ensure it integrates well with your platform, is secure, PCI-compliant, and consider the fees involved.
Integrate Shipping If possible, integrate shipping tools to streamline operations. Define your shipping policies, such as free shipping, flat rates, or variable fees. Also, establish clear refund and return policies.
Add a Sales Tax Calculator (Optional) Consider adding a tax calculator to automatically compute sales tax, shipping, and other fees at checkout for a smoother customer experience. Step 7: Test and Launch Your E-Commerce Site
Thorough Testing Ensure all buttons, links, and 404 pages work. Test adding products to the cart and payment processing. Verify confirmation emails reach the correct inboxes. Check the site’s functionality on mobile devices and different browsers.
Final Checks Review product descriptions and content. Once everything is confirmed, you’re ready to launch.
Launch Announcement Promote your launch via social media, niche blogs, influencer marketing, email lists, and consider paid ads on platforms like Facebook and Google.
