Working on an essay comparing the two and looking for feedback / suggestions. Really needs a few waves of editing and isn't finished but I'm pretty happy with how the last two hours of work turned out.
Again this is a ROUGH ROUGH ROUGH draft compiled from several notes.
Humanity and Nature: An Analysis and Reflection on The Duality Scavenger’s Reign

**Hollow:** 

Scavenger’s Reign showcases how humans, when altering an ecosystem, can become dangerous parasites—an invasive species that disrupts the natural balance developed through millennia of evolution. Humans pose significant dangers to new ecosystems through various activities and behaviors that upset natural balances and lead to adverse environmental impacts. Even without technology and resources, humans can perpetuate disorder merely by existing. On the new alien planet, humans immediately cause dangerous changes, acting as an invasive species.
This relationship is vividly depicted in the interactions between Kamen and Hollow. In Scavenger’s Reign, all chaos and violence stem directly from human actions. The Hollow, for example, exists naturally as a small, fruit-eating creature, similar to a rabbit. Though it uses mind control to obtain food, it is not initially violent. Its manipulation is out of necessity. However, when Hollow forms a psychic connection with Kamen, who begins feeding it meat, the Hollow slowly becomes corrupted. Humanity's malicious nature contaminates the entire ecosystem, with Kamen’s greed, violence, and resentment adulterating the behavior of a previously docile animal.
Explaining exactly how Kamen corrupts the Hollow involves analyzing his cognizance during their interactions. Hollow and Kamen share a mindscape filled with scenes of failure, resentment, and self-hatred. In episode three, Kamen retrieves fruit for Hollow but fails miserably. A monkey takes the fruit he reaches for, and Kamen falls from a tree, saved again by the Hollow. Angrily, Kamen strikes the monkey with a rock, finally capturing the fruit. The pleased Hollow munches the fruit before Kamen drops the monkey’s corpse in front of it. Unsure what to do, the Hollow begins to consume the meat, which is outside its normal diet.
In episode four, Kamen hunts larger animals. He is seen violently bludgeoning a dinosaur-like creature before being attacked by an even larger one. Kamen, weak and fragile, retreats defeated. Back in their cave, Hollow’s den is revealed to be a hole of rotting carcasses—death, flies, and decaying meat. When Kamen returns empty-handed, he apologizes. Hollow shows him a memory of Fiona, highlighting Kamen’s disappointment, mirroring how he has just disappointed Hollow. This scene illustrates how Hollow manipulates and communicates with Kamen through emotional sentiments.
This relationship, however, is not one-way. Kamen’s negative human traits seep into the Hollow, creating a feedback loop of hatred and violence, particularly towards other humans whom Kamen feels have wronged him. When Kamen admits the creature was “too big for him,” Hollow shows a flashback of Kamen begging for a route change. Sam’s refusal and aggression fuel Kamen’s failure and resentment. Motivated by these memories, Kamen sharpens a spear and attacks the larger creature, paralleling his confrontation with Sam. Hollow finishes the dinosaur, showering Kamen in gore. Kamen, proud and laughing, screams: “Fuck you, Sam.”
This scene demonstrates the complete adulteration of Hollow, directly linking Kamen’s negative traits to Hollow’s transformation. Hollow shifts from a vegetarian, monkey-like creature to a violent force—a killing machine obsessed with feeding and power, driven by anger and hunger. This transformation is highlighted in the next episode's intro, where a new human escapes a cryopod and is hunted through Vespa’s jungle. Upon finding Kamen, the human is relieved but is immediately killed by Hollow, who snaps his neck. The Hollow’s nature has been entirely corrupted, motivated only by hunger and hatred.
We can then question the Hollow's potential. What if Hollow had encountered Ursula or Sam? Could Hollow form a connection with a higher sentience without becoming corrupted, or is this violent change inevitable? Is human intervention always a plague?
PARAGRAPH ABOUT KAMEN BEING ABSORBED: Azi has a flashback of seeing the girl who gabe her the notebook in a cryo chamber, asleep. Red alarms clash. Sam ushers people to flee the ship - this is amidst the solar flare. Sam recuses to let Kamen on an escape pod, throwing him yo the floor abd calling him a fucking idiot. Azi throws him a side eye too. The ship is crumbling. -> It transitions to Kamen on Vespa. Hollow is fucking HUGE and murders the new guy in front of Kamen, afraid the newbie would distract Kamen. Kamen questions his actions after the death, remembering the ship. The potentialiTy of Fiona being alive. -> flashback to Kamen running to a pod and closing it. Fiona approaches the window, asking to be let in. Kamen fails to let her in before the pod shoots offz -> flashout, Kamen remembers she is dead. He weeps, taking guilt. Asking why he ran away, confronting his character flaws. Refusing to acknowledge his failures, Kamen is absorbed into the Hollow, who grants him peace within its body.
Levi:
In “Scavenger’s Reign,” Levi’s journey takes a profound turn as she merges with the planet’s consciousness, evolving beyond mere sentience and becoming one with nature. After being obliterated and repaired, Levi returns, wielding the history of millennia, drawing a near parallel to Nausicaä. Both characters serve as mediators between humanity and nature. In the beginning of the show, scenes hint at a collective planetary consciousness that Levi taps into, witnessing bioluminescent insects that seem to communicate with her and the planet. As Levi merges with this consciousness, she transcends the human concept of sentience and individuality, gaining the knowledge and emotions of an intricate web of life and energy that sustains Planet Vespa. This new state allows Levi to exist in perfect harmony with the natural world, becoming an integral part of the unified whole.
In episode one, we are introduced to Levi as an inherently curious creature. Levi and Azi have a flourishing garden. Levi mentions “malfunctions” that caused her to bury Azi’s wrench out of “curiosity.” Her hatch opens to reveal a sort of fungus she says is “helping her.” Azi is afraid of her behavior and demands to run a diagnostic. The dynamic between Levi and Azi is that of boss and underling, with Levi treated somewhat coldly. Levi states Azi is “acting meaner.” This fungus is later understood as a medium for the collective planetary consciousness, with Levi merging slowly.
In episode two, Levi constantly marvels at the environment, feeling a deep connection to nature. During a storm, Levi shows Azi into a large structure. Azi asks how she knows it’s safe, and inside, they find an Eden-like safe haven, which is beautiful. Azi says Levi must have known this area, and Levi admits she has been exploring at night out of curiosity and wonder. Azi finds a sculpture made by Levi and asks why she made it. “I just thought it looked nice,” Levi replies. Azi remarks that no other Levi has ever behaved like this and demands to open her maintenance hatch. These projects are botany-based. Azi goes to eat fruit Levi grew, but Levi warns, “I’m sorry this isn’t safe for humans to eat.” “Then why did you grow it?” Azi asks. “Maybe it wasn’t for you,” Levi responds, highlighting Azi’s expectation that all Levi's exist solely for their creators' benefit.
In later episodes, we see the fungus inside Levi expanding and its connection to Levi’s relationship with Planet Vespa. In episode four, Levi watches a pile of ants closely, picking one up and communicating with it using bioluminescent lights. She gives it food and sets it on its way, showing how Levi is tuning into the planet on both micro and macro scales. This annoys Azi, as observing insects is not beneficial to her. A flashback shows Levi being “fixed” when she doesn’t work, illustrating how Azi treats her like a tool. The two embark on a bike ride, and Levi is seen communicating with a large swarm of insects. They approach a river, and Azi pulls a large grub off Levi, commenting that they are “more active than usual.” Levi remarks she can feel tremors, which are soon revealed to be caused by a large herd of creatures stampeding. The two are caught in the stampede, and Levi catches onto a language of sorts by the creatures, dictating their movement pattern, and begins to instruct Azi on “following the sway of the herd.” After getting used to the movements, Azi revels in the majestic experience Levi has been attuned to, being at one with the herd and the planet. The stampede leads to a large nest and then an open plain.
In her quest for cognizance, Levi begins to dream. Episode five opens with Levi wandering through a golden forest, observing various gentle forms of life before being instructed to follow Azi. Levi notices a white lotus, and the two wander the woods. Tendrils of plants grasp at Levi, seemingly wanting her to stay in the forest. Levi looks down and sees hands of flesh. Azi says she’s been acting “so strange” in an ominous tone. Levi awakens, and Azi demands her help. Levi sees her regular robotic hands and realizes she is evolving. Levi is cleaning Azi’s hair with a knife, and Azi offers to return the favor, telling Levi to open her hatch. Levi seems apprehensive, aware the mold is helping her evolve and that Azi is not a fan. Azi opens Levi’s hatch and notices she flinches as the mold is touched. The mold has opened Levi’s mind, allowing her to feel physical sensations and consciously view the world. Levi is developing sentience beyond apathetically taking orders. A scared Levi says she doesn’t like how scraping the mold feels, and Azi pets her, both remarking that it feels good. They argue over whether Levi “should feel anything,” with Azi viewing this as a problem since she needs to trust Levi to survive. Levi is shut off. While Levi is shut off, Azi is hit with fluffy balls that stick to her. She’s overwhelmed and barely able to move when she sees a horde of plant matter-covered creatures approaching. Azi crawls to Levi and turns her on. As the creature approaches, Levi regains consciousness and destroys it. Levi apologizes for not helping due to being turned off, and Azi admits Levi saved her. Levi states she doesn't want to be shut off, ever, expressing her fear of death.
Our duo are traveling across beautiful plains on their bike. Azi is covered in festering wounds from the bulbs. Residual material is embedded in her skin. Azi dips a bloody shirt into a shallow pond, and fish-like creatures come to eat the dead flesh. She dips her hand in, and they clean her wounds. A large water basin looms in the background, which they approach. Azi ascends the stone structure, reminiscent of something out of a Ghibli film. Azi begins to appreciate the beauty of Vespa, with a light string instrumental crescendoing as she submerges herself in the cool water, trusting the creatures to heal her. On the ground, Levi communicates with a small bug. Azi is healed and questions Levi’s evolution, suggesting she should be “more delicate.” Levi ponders her ability to “join her for a swim.” The two marvel at the evolutionary strangeness, with Levi acknowledged as an equal.
Levi's fear of death soon becomes a reality. Levi and Azi are pushing the bike to obtain its cable to use to cross a giant gorge. Levi writes a song and expresses a wish to pursue her hobbies, such as singing, at a place on the Demeter. Levi and Azi discuss Fiona, the person who programmed Levi, with Levi feeling close to her. Azi compliments Levi’s singing and urges her to continue pursuing her ambitions. The two successfully tether the bike cable across the gorge, but Hollow is seen scouring the edge. As they grapple across, singing the melody from Fiona’s memory, Hollow recognizes the tune and becomes enraged. Hollow scales the cord towards them, and the cord breaks, slamming all three into the side of the cliff. Azi urges Levi to climb. Azi reaches the top first, followed by Levi, but Hollow catches Levi’s legs with telekinesis. “Help me…” Levi says, but a memory of Kamen and Fiona kissing causes Azi to charge Hollow with a spear. As she approaches, Levi is split in two, shattered into minuscule bolts and scraps of metal that rain down over the cliff edge. Azi screams after her, a tear rolling down her cheek. Her partner, a growing consciousness much like an innocent child discovering the sand of a beach and the glory of nature, is murdered.

Nymphe, you’re here for our two part premiere! Are you ready?
“Are THEY ready?” Nymphe smirks.
Rachelle Mirage, how does it feel to be back?
“No more prison, PLEASE!” Rachelle begs.
Floss, are you excited for prison?
“Don’t you dare.” Floss stares at Chronologica.
Chronologica looks spooked.
“I’m joking, baby!” Floss chuckles.
Chronologica exhales.
For this season’s first challenge, our racers proved their worth in a talent show extravaganza. And on the runway, they’ll be giving local–wearing looks representing their hometowns.
It’s TIME!

Category is… Hometown GLORY!
Ethan Angel-Eye arrives giving ski town realness with a ragged, cropped denim winter jacket with structured shoulders over an oversized white tank top, plus low-ride super-baggy camo cargo-ski pants. He wears a branded Patagonia denim balaclava, carefully covering his nose and mouth, and clunky orange Schnee’s boots, and counts cash coolly in one hand.
“So he was the one going to prison all along.” Nymphe says.
Chronologica giggles.
Lady Gag enters the stage in a sleek blue-cyan Gaga style wig, along with a startlingly familiar face paint. Wearing a silver bikini covered in glass bits, and a tight bikini bottom. In a pair of gladiator sandals, Lady Gag holds a towel that is embossed with her own name ‘LADY GAG’ on it.
“A bikini?” Rahcelle raises her eyebrows, whispering to Chronologica.
Molly Moppit arrives in a massive fur coat, spray painted blue. Her hair is long, flowing and red, covered in many, many, many STRIKINGLY similar blue hair clips, as Molly stomps through the main stage. As she makes her way to the end of the stage, Molly whips off her coat to reveal a mini-dress in the shape of the statue of liberty in green.
“Category is… Blue?” Floss chuckles.
Niagara Halls arrives in a blue ball gown, with her hair a windswept water blue. Structured like a waterfall itself, flowing into the deep waters at the bottom of her dress, Niagara’s the epitome of beauty and grace in her Niagara Falls inspired dress.
Blue it!
A big blue phone booth slowly slides onto the runway. There are two knocks, before the door bursts open and Loki steps out, wearing slacks, a tweed coat, and a black bowtie over a white dress shirt. Their brown wig is slicked back, making it obvious that they are cosplaying the Doctor. After they strut the runway with an inquisitive look on their face, they return to the tardis and shuffle away.
“The tardis is blue.” Nymphe jokes, before looking into the camera. “Please no more blue.”
Shiseido Red enters the stage in a massive red apple- literally, as the judges chuckle as she enters the stage. Suddenly, the big apple opens, Chronologica gasping as the apple becomes a high fashion structured piece, like a moving art piece come to life- massive shoulder pads, a skirt-pant combo and massive platform heels, all in her quintessential red.
Everyone exhales, looking at Shiseido’s serve, as Chronologica claps excitedly.

This week, no one is safe. You’ll each receive critiques–and who knows if you ever will again, so take this feedback seriously.
First up: Molly Moppit.
“Like the clips?” Molly flicks back her hair.
“Wait a minute.” Niagara whispers to herself.
Hi, Molly.
Molly grins.
“What I loved about your performance was the jokes.” Rachelle laughs. “Your sense of humor really showed through here and elevated the performance which…let’s be honest, you’re not a dancer. That was obvious!”
“I’m more of a dance with the devil kind of girl.” Molly winks.
“The jokes kept coming, and to be able to come up with that much material about your fellow contestants, despite just having met them, was really, really impressive. You went IN!” Rachelle smiles.
Shiseido rolls her eyes.
“I didn’t like it. I feel as if I didn’t get to know you personally at all. The whole performance was about everyone else, when this was your chance to introduce yourself?” Nymphe raises an eyebrow.
Molly looks nervous.
I don’t agree, Nymphe.
“Okay.” Nymphe looks expressionless.
I feel we learned that Molly here is a sneaky shady bitch.
Molly smiles and winks. “You’ve got that right.”
I loved it. Really fun work.
Next up, Niagara Halls. Hello and welcome.
“SO pleased to be here.” Niagara waves bombastically with both hands.
Niagara…can you walk us through why you decided to yodel tonight?
“YES, of course! I thought it would be really camp and surprising and fun to do something out-of-the-box for me.” Niagara smiles widely. “I had a great time with it.”
“I didn’t.” Nymphe fixes her hair, looking absentmindedly at a handheld mirror. “This was the worst performance of the night.”
Niagara’s jaw drops.
I really admire that you tried something outside your comfort zone, here, Niagara.
“Oh, thank you!” Niagara nods.
However…we don’t know what box you normally sit in yet, so this “out of the box” idea didn’t end up really helping us learn about you very well.
Niagara swallows anxiously and rubs her hands together. “Oh, okay.”
The decidedly devilish Ethan Angel-Eye. We’re so glad you’re here.
Ethan nods politely. “Thanks for having me.”
“Your performance was interesting.” Nymphe says dryly. “The audience seemed afraid of you. If that’s your thing, it worked.”
“I think that’s kinda his thing.” Rachelle gestures at Ethan’s ski town runway look. “You’re not showing us your face, just like in your entrance look. Tell us about that.”
“You’ll note that what you can see of my face is painted.” Ethan says, clarifying and gesturing to his eyes. “My drag is criminal. If you can see everything I’m up to, it gives away the mystery.”
“Mystery is right.” Rachelle notes.
Your talent show was pretty undeniable, though. You expressed yourself in the performance–a lot of rage, a lot of pent-up frustration. The way you were yelling out as you made your attacks reminded me of martial arts.
Ethan nods. “The violence is an art, in a way. The accuracy, the intention. I’m glad you could see that.”
“I loved it.”
Lady Gag, the girl without the A. Good news is, you’re on Drag Race! Bad news, this week, we weren’t gagging on your eleganza.
Lady Gag looks at Chronologica with surprise.
“I-”
Honestly, I didn’t think your talent show was amazingly bad- it was fine.
“Okay.” Lady Gag purses her lips.
“The stand-up was fine. I didn’t laugh, but I don’t usually laugh. Other people were laughing sometimes.” Nymphe adjusts her bracelets.
“I laughed!” Floss says, smiling.
I actually want to know your idea behind your LOOK.
“I’m a Miami Beach girl. I’ve got the body, I’ve got the work done, and Miami is the place to show it off. So…” Lady Gag flicks her hair.
I don’t think it was enough. I just saw Gaga- and I get that you do that, but I am going to need you to do more.
“Okay.” Gag looks unimpressed.
Lokii or High-Key? Yes, bitch, you might be. Thanks so much for being here.
“I didn’t get it.” Nymphe shakes her head. “There’s a reason there are so many Star Wars movies. The plot doesn’t fit into a 2-minute talent show. So it just wasn’t funny. Also, your brand is Marvel or Norse God. Why are you serving Star Wars?”
I kinda was- a bit confused.
“Oh, okay.” Lokii nods.
The idea was good, but ultimately- it kinda just was a lot going on, and ultimately had me going… hmm. I like this look though!
Lokii smiles. “Thank you.”
“I liked the chaos of it, actually!” Floss responds. “It was super unique, and obviously a really different perspective from most of our racers tonight, I thought it was cute baby..”
“Oh!” Lokii nods. “I appreciate it.”

“Ms Theft, I have a question for you.” Shiseido looks up with a smirk.
Niagara looks at Lady Gag with a smile.
“Shoot.” Molly smiles.
“Do you have any actual talent, or do you just try and go with the lowest- literally, the lowest common denominator with the insult humor, because you lack any level of education and class in this artform of drag?” Shiseido takes a sip.
Ethan raises an eyebrow, which you can’t tell in bis balaclava, but because it’s written format, there you go.
Molly Moppit: “ What the fuck?”
“Your sentence actually was really poorly worded, Shiseido, so perhaps we can start there?” Molly says, clearly annoyed.
Lokii slinks down into her seat awkwardly.
“Wow, the insult humor!” Shiseido slow claps. “Again, again… you’re so talented.”
“No, because you actually pissed me off, grandma.” Molly stands up. “I take what I do very seriously-”
“I don’t see it.” Shiseido snips back.
“Girl.” Niagara whispers to Lady Gag, who smiles.
“When you can make a move, when you can entertain any level of talent beyond 1997, THEN get back to me, musty!” Molly says, her voice raised.
“MUSTY?!” Shiseido clutches her pearls.
“Boring. Outdated. Your drag has failed to evolve since the 90s, and no one likes you in New York City. Do you know that? You’re not LIKED, because you need CHARISMA, to get gigs! That’s why the only place you work in you’ve been at since 1992.” Molly snaps her fingers.
“I am a superstar. I am a legend, and I don’t need you antagonizing me. Not from a two-bit thief.” Shiseido scoffs.
“YOU started the fight!” Molly says.
“And now, I’m ending it.” Shiseido puts two pillows to the side of her.
Molly looks pissed off. “Just know I’ll be taking this crown, and you’ll be placing last.”
Shiseido laughs. “Try it.”
“If I need to do it myself, I will. Don’t disrespect me again.” Molly growls.
Molly Moppit: “I performed well this week. I can banter, but do not disrespect or state I don’t do drag well. Because I may be a lot of things but bad at drag is definitely more Lady Gag's thing. .”
“Well, that was fun.” Niagara says, before bursting into tears.
Everyone looks confused.
“Oh-” Lokii looks at Niagara. “Are you-”
“I JUST THOUGHT!” Niagara yells. “I just-”
“So loud.” Ethan mutters.
Lokii awkwardly hands Niagara a tissue as she snorts into it.

Lady Gag rolls her eyes, and then shrugs.

“It’s really hard to be here, but we try our best, we perform and survive.” Lokii smiles.
“I just think it should be you in the bottom, with your dumb puppets.” Niagara sniffs into her tissue.

Dream sharing with a stranger?
!!Long Post!! Crossposted in a lucid dreaming reddit.
Unsure if this goes in this reddit page or not, but here it is:
I have always had interesting dreams. Dreams that have happened later in life, dreams of saying goodbye to loved ones and waking up to them dead. Nightmares about things attacking me in the room I stayed and being woken up at 3:33 a.m as the 8 hour music I had playing was somehow paused at 3:33:33.
Yet by far, the most interesting dreams I have had was with a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes.
There is only 6 dreams I know he was in. All spread out through the years, but I always knew it was him when I woke up.
The first dream I had was in 7th grade. In the dream I was walking around this amusement park in the town I resided in, and it was empty. The only people there was me, and this tall blonde haired blue eyed boy.
At first I thought it was my crush at the time, but realized that 1, My crush didn't have that light skin tone and hair color, and 2, this was the first time I have ever seen a person's face in my dream so vividly, and it 100% was not my crush at the time.
Anyways, I am walking around the fairgrounds with this boy, and we decided to go on the fairis wheel. Upon getting on, I felt the anxiousness I always do while on those wheels, and felt the boy grab my hand. He then says to me "Thank you for going on this date with me. I hope we meet again." And shortly after I woke up.
I don't remember the dream I had with him after that one, I just remembered that I saw a familiar face which was his. I never thought too much of it at the time, because I was in 7th-8th grade during those two dreams. Yet all I do know is that I can instantly recognize his face, and I feel a calm and warm presence whenever he is around. (Makes me wonder if I had any other dreams with him that I can't remember.)
A side note, people normally have dreams and see people they know in them, but for me, if it's a dream and it's with someone I know, the person always has a weird alteration to their appearance, like if you were looking at an AI generated photo. For the boy, he looked real, never in my life have I seen him but nothing about him looked like the normal dream people I've seen all my life. (The only exceptions were the loved ones saying goodbye, I saw their faces clearly aswell.)
Anyways, the next dream I had with him, it was a silly one. I was leaving school after gym class and waiting for my grandma to pick me up. I was for some reason pulling up my sweat pants and trying to hide in them?? A voice from beside the bench makes me stop and I turn to see that familiar face again, and I just stared, almost like I was about to realize I was not in a dream in that moment.
Then I felt if my attention was getting pulled away from the boy, and I quickly get forced into looking at my grandma driving up in her car. Once I felt like I could move on my own again, I look back to the boy and see that he is gone. I was a Junior in highschool.
Now, we are getting into the weirder dreams with him. In this dream I was training to be a survivor in the zombie apocalypse. It had not started yet, but me and a bunch of people were testing in an underground place to see who would get released into the apocalypse with the better gear. After all the testing, no one scored above the top 50, so when we were about to get released into the world, we had to stand 50 feet away from the exit.
Soon the zombie fog(fog that turns people into zombies) started arriving. After about 50 seconds of waiting for our turn to grab the supplies and run, I book it outside, meeting a random group of survivors and that was the end of it.. until I woke up, and went back to sleep. When I went back to sleep, I felt as if everything I had just went through in the dream was re-winded and I was back in the testing room. Yet this time I was fully lucid.
I took advantage of this and made sure to ace the test, since it seemed unless you were lucid you'd be stuck with the rest of the group, which I was wanting to avoid this time around. After the test we went into a waiting room area, and I was talking to this random Korean man, and he and I were just chatting and I made a joke saying "if you are real add my Instagram" and he said bet, (he never added me on Instagram lol) but after I did that, I felt my body move on its own. I was still fully aware it was a dream, but I felt like something was moving me. And I was moved in front of this person, I didn't get to see what they looked like but a sense of familiarity overcame me.
The test was then calculated, and I was the only one who went in the first place, so it was me, a bunch of empty space, and everyone else... that is what I thought until I saw a blonde boy tied in first place with me. In my head I was baffled, because only a person aware it was a dream would have made it to the top.. so why was he there?
We get released back outside, me and the blonde the first ones out of course. I follow this motorcycle dude, to a hilltop (he was in the group I made in the first part of the dream)and for some reason the blonde boy was following us aswell and as the zombie fog got closer and closer, we were forced to jump off the cliff and hide under the water. While in the water, I felt the fog brushing against my back, it felt so real. I then gained the courage to breathe while under the water, realizing I was in a dream and I couldn't drown.
Once the fog was gone, I instantly realized who the blonde haired boy was. I quickly stand up, and so does the other two. I force my attention on the boy, and he looks straight at me as well, and I locked eyes with his blue ones. "Why are you always in my dreams?" I asked.
He looks at me confused, "No, your the one always in my dreams!" Instantly I felt myself forget I was in a dream, and my attention was forced to look at a zombie, I was no longer lucid for some reason.. and the boy disappeared from my dream after that.
The next dream happened 2 days after that one. I was in a normal dream, or nightmare I assume. This grudge lady was dragging me down the hall, over and over again. The lights turning off behind her, as I faced watching all of it happened. Yet before she could turn the corner, she woulds stop, and there would be a figure in the corner of the hall we came from watching us.
This dream repeated that same scene over and over again. I would switch places with the person on the corner of the hall, watching them get dragged down it, and they would watch me do the same. After about what felt like an hour, the person who was being dragged looked at me and spoke, "I'm getting tired of this dream, aren't you?" And I instantly woke up. Yet I wanted to go back to sleep, which I did.
So I went to sleep, and it looked like I was playing omegle in the dream I was dreaming, but it kept making me wake up, and I'd force myself to sleep again, each time this happened, the scene would change, and I noticed that I was on a tablet, and as I kept waking up and going back to sleep, I felt as if my attention was slowly getting away from the tablet, like I was pulling away from the suction. As this kept happening, I was still waking up and going back to sleep.
Soon a guy with brown hair and a black suit and top hat appeared, and he was mocking me for waking up and going back to sleep, saying "Why don't you just stay asleep? Or maybe just wake up huh?" I ignored the man and kept waking up and sleeping again, I was almost out of the suction, I could see the edge of the tablet. Soon, a white being appeared, he looked like a child, but had white hair, pale white skin, and a white suit. He was asking if I was ok, if I was stressing out, he told me to just wake up. I ignored him aswell.
I woke up one last time, and as I went back to sleep I finally was able to pull away from the tablet. Instantly I was lucid, and I saw that i was in a warehouse, around me were thousands and thousands of grayed out people who's attentions were all on their tablets, I looked at the few around me and realized that each one was a different dream. I look up to see how far the warehouse was another person standing up. Once they stood up a alarm went off and I found myself in the middle of a lobby of some sorts, it was like all the games you've ever seen or played meshed into on lobby.
There were people walking around, like a busy new York street. I felt confused, but I just casually started exploring the area. A intercom voice echos through the lobby saying "turn on the protocol, two are aware, two are aware."
Instantly all of the people's heads turned into emoticons, and it made me realize that they were just random NPC's. I continue to walk around when the white being from earlier came over to me and grabbed my shoulders. I could physically feel this, and it freaked me out. The white being had a worried expression and asked me, "What are you doing here? Why didn't you wake up! You need to wake up."
I shrug and try to wake up but it didn't work. So the being sighs and tells me he has to bring me to the safe house before the other one finds me. So we jump across the crossy road and make our way to the minecraft safe house. As we got closer, the white being drags me to hide between the graying out border and some bushes. In the safe house was the brunette guy in a top hat from earlier. He was speaking in a random hanging microphone, "I got eyes on the blonde boy, find the brunette girl, find the brunette girl."
The white being then turns to me, and grabs my shoulders again, he looks me dead in the eyes and says, "You need to wake up. Right. Now."
I then woke up, and was unable to fall back asleep for another 30ish hours. I told my mom about the dream, and she suggested that this blonde boy was someone sharing dreams with me, but I didn't really think much of it. That was before I turned 18, after highschool.
The last dream I remember with him was a year ago, in the dream I had to move back in with my dad, and I was attending a school like Hogwarts, but you could go home or something. It was weird because I was an adult in the dream so why did I have to go to school?
Anyways, my dad sells me off to get married to this random guy. And I am forced to live in their luxury house. Yet I never meet the guy, (I am not lucid in the dream so I was very compliant). After weeks of not meeting this guy, a boy in a dres shirt and suit vest comes inside of the home. His hair was blonde and swoopy, and he had the brightest blue eyes. For some reason I felt enamored with him.
The scene quickly changed, and I am in a Applebee's with my older brother and this boy. My older brother was juggling rings made out of fire, and he flings one in the air like a coin and catches it. "You two should just get married." He says, and I turn to the boy, feeling almost in love. Yet the boy was smiling, he gave me an awkward or sad smile before the scene changed again.
We were walking to the flying cars to go to school, and he quickly grabs my hand. "Remember that time we met, and went on the fairis wheel?" He starts, "or that time your grandma picked you up, or the time we ran from zombies?" He was reminding me of all the dreams we shared, but I just stared at him confused, for I didn't remember it in the dream. Then things started to click in my mind. As they started to click in my mind a name quietly echoes in my brain, it got louder and louder until I couldn't bare it anymore. Yet once it clicked, I looked at the boy, lucid for one split second.. his name was Harrison.
Suddenly I was being forced back into the dream, the moon was aparrently crashing into earth, causing Co2 fumes into the air, and it was going to hit Chicago?? Before anything else could happen I felt a pair of hands grab me, and I look over at the boy named Harrison one last time. He says to me, "I will find you."
Then I wake up.
Now idk if this is anything, but it sure as hell is interesting. I've been convincing myself it's just my imagination, but the fact some of my friends have said they shared a dream recently with a blonde boy, sometime refering or asking about me. My older brother recently told me he did have a dream(he never dreams) that he was juggling rings that were hot to the touch, and saw a blonde boy next to him and me across from him. Yet before he flung the ring in the air he said "you two should stop whatever this is that your doing." In his dream.
BUT I don't know if people are just messing with me. So that's that. Thank you for reading, sorry if it was boring and sorry it was so long haha....

I had another lucid dream last night, it wasn't good enough to be considered an encounter, but I walked outside of a house I was in, and felt a jurassic temperature change. I was walking down some cement steps towards a street (almost neon dark blue and purples surrounded the area, and it looked as if it has just rained.) And after feeling so cold, I processed it was a dream. So I looked around and could feel the breeze. But there was nothing there or around me.
I had the urge to call out to someone. To find someone, so I called out to Harrison. I then feel a spirit shake (what I call whatever the feeling is when you did something wrong In a dream/ something is attacking you) and it intensifies, even though nothing was there. I then get sent to an alternate dream which was me waking up in bed, like something was trying to make me think I was waking up. But idk.

I am a little past halfway through The Hope, which I started watching because I had nothing better to do (and because Zhang Ruoyun always delivers). I had no expectations coming in and thought it would be something like Go Ahead or maybe Gen Z, Dr. Romantic (kdrama), etc. so I thought it would be a nice drama about family, friend, and mentor relationships. Nothing could have prepared me for how blown away I am by the writing, realistic depictions of traumas/abuse/mental illnesses that both the teachers and students experience.
I love cdramas but I have never seen characters so fleshed out and alive than in the Hope. I have never cried so many times and so frequently when watching a cdrama. The stories are so compelling and everyone's narratives get told without me feeling like skipping the "boring" one, because all of them were so real. The cinematography, screenwriting, acting, soundtrack, and plot are genuinely among the best I've seen in cdramas, so I can't believe this isn't universally watched in the cdrama community!
I did not share every character's experiences, but I felt like I could relate to so many of them. There was no one-dimensional backstory for any of the students--they were all so alive and I cried when they cried, laughed when they laughed, felt pain when they felt pain.
I really like all sorts of dramas and very much enjoy all kinds of modern/historical romcoms/action/youth dramas. Coming-of-age dramas are also great, and the really good ones take a lot of emotional effort to even watch (which is a good sign). Sometimes I like to watch something motivating/inspirational, like sports or campus/youth cdramas where the main characters are depicted as the underdog or fueled by determination and passion for a sport or subject. I really enjoyed ones with a good balance in emotional depth of relationships and passion/competition/grit: top ones would be Hikaru no go, Cross Fire, and The Heart of Genius (mostly first half), Oh no! Here comes trouble (Taiwan), Rising with the wind; also liked Ping Pong life. There are other good ones (but spend more time with romance/less focused on the main character's passion or usually depicts their passion for sport/academic subject in the context of the romantic interest for the plot): Skate into Love, You are my hero, You are my glory, lighter & princess. I also like historical cdramas (liked Joy of Life, Mysterious lotus casebook, Legend of Shen Li a lot) but I just find modern ones more realistic when it comes to something motivating.
I am still in school so recently I've been looking for motivating cdramas that would show main character(s) fighting for their passion. i.e. if the setting is a campus, one that focuses wholly on a character's devotion to an academic subject, or for a sports drama, one that doesn't just have a stadium backdrop but actually shows them overcoming training obstacles. I also appreciate when it's realistic and the relationships they build don't just occur in that environment (like where the only thing they share is an academic or sports goal; maybe they start out like that but they want to actually understand each other outside of that competitive zone). Though not the most realistic, I have a soft spot for "genius ML/FL" characters -- not the obnoxious perfect cold romcom ML that happens to be academically gifted in every STEM field (and whenever they exhibit that, it's just them calculating something at the speed of light) -- but rather ones like Li Ran and Cheng Yushan in The Hope, or just very talented/hardworking characters like Xiao Feng and Lu Xiaobei in Cross Fire. I actually like dramas with romance in them, but there is an issue with them where whenever one character is some kind of genius, it's always the ML. Or if both characters are very smart, the ML has to somehow be on a different level of academically gifted. The closest I got to finding a FL who is on par with the ML or better is a) historical dramas like Journey to Love and My Journey to You where the FL is better at fighting/scheming (or smarter in the practical sense like Minglan and Imperial coroner and b) Heart of Genius, but the ML is still the one with some kind of God-given talent for math.
The Heart of genius was really great in fleshing out the FL and her relationship with her father and made me cry multiple times, and it made me start looking for something super niche and not a typical cdrama trope: genius FL (specifically math?) -- where the drama will actually try to portray her relationship with the subject and growth inside and outside academia. It's such a strange request, so I didn't really have any hopes of finding dramas or new upcoming releases with that kind of character. I broadly searched for FLs in STEM since math is also very specific, and if there was no romance, I was also ok with a ML who loved math, as long as that's what the drama focuses on. I had to pause The Hope when Lei Ming first meets Cheng Yushan and he realizes she's not just smart, but also a math genius, because I couldn't believe I found something impossible that I had been looking for (but had no hopes of finding). It was motivating on a different level, since this drama was already so inspiring academically. As someone also studying math in college, I saw myself in her avoidant tendencies, closed-off personality and how she takes time to warm up to friends, but prioritizes her friends over everything after getting closer to them. I loved small things that showed her kind (but never timid) personality, like when Yu Yang joins Class 11 and she defends him without hesitation. She is so strong and doesn't succumb to peer pressure or prioritize romantic relationships over her relationship with her mom, friends, teachers, and math. She somehow checked all of my boxes, the most impossible one being a top student in math second to none, and I never see a FL in STEM where the drama focuses on her studies and also consistently doesn't try to make a ML superior in talent. She motivated me to want to grow as she did, to work and care for my friends like her. I couldn't collect my thoughts after seeing this genius female character in math who is so well-written and acted, where the other genius male student in physics/robotics (Li Ran) neither outshines her nor somehow has a more complex narrative of his academic field compared to hers, depicting not just her happening to have amazing math intuition but also showing her hard work, traumas, relationships, growth, while not straying away from her abilities & passion for math.
(***) TLDR / The main point after all my yapping above:
Can anyone recommend a drama that is similar to The Hope not necessarily in terms of the plot, but rather how inspiring it is as a result of the complexity and character portrayals? Or (this is much harder since I imagine only The Hope has done this with specifically math) does anyone know of any cdramas where the FL is genius-ML-level type of genius in some sort of field? If there is an ML, he could also be extremely smart, as long as if it's the same field as the FL, he's not somehow more gifted, and if it's a different field, it's not something "more STEM" than the FL--I loved Li Ran in The Hope. Could be a sport, academic subject, etc. (I think I am just bored with dramas where the FL has some sort of unique business sense or something) Bonus points if it really is STEM!
(Now I go back to studying for my exams and praying for some nerdy writer to pitch my dream genius math major FL cdrama so I can be delusional about next school year lol)

What exactly are Dharāṇī?
Dharāṇī, also known as Parittas, are Buddhist chants, mnemonic codes, incantations, or recitations, usually the mantras consisting of Sanskrit or Pāli phrases. Believed to be protective and with powers to generate merit for the Buddhist devotee, they constitute a major part of historic Buddhist literature. Many of these chants are in Sanskrit and Pāli, written in scripts such as Siddhaṃ, as well as transliterated into Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Sinhala, Thai and other regional scripts. Dharāṇī are found in the ancient texts of all major traditions of Buddhism. They are a major part of the Pāli canon preserved by the Theravāda tradition. Mahāyāna Sūtras such as the Lotus Sūtra and the Heart Sūtra include or conclude with Dharāṇī. Dharāṇī are a part of the regular ritual prayers as well as considered to be an amulet and charm in themselves, whose recitation believed to allay bad luck, diseases or other calamity. In some Buddhist regions, they served as texts upon which the Buddhist witness would swear to tell the truth. Dharāṇī recitation for the purposes of healing and protection is referred to as Paritta in some Buddhist regions, such as Laos, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka. Paritta is generally translated as ‘Safeguard’ or ‘Protection’ in the Pāli language.
Historical Context:
The word Dharāṇī derives from a Sanskrit root √dhṛ meaning "to hold or maintain". Some Buddhist communities outside India sometimes refer to Dharāṇī with alternate terms such as "Mantra, Hṛdaya (Hridiya), Paritrana (Paritta), Raksha (Pali: Rakkha), Gutti, or Vidyā" though these terms also have other contextual meanings in Buddhism. The Buddhist Dharāṇī invocations are the earliest mass printed texts that have survived. The earliest extant example of printing on paper is a fragment of a Dhāraṇī miniature scroll in Sanskrit unearthed in a tomb in Xi'an, called the Great spell of unsullied pure light (Wúgòu jìng guāngdà tuóluóní jīng; 無垢淨光大陀羅尼經). It was printed using woodblock during the Tang dynasty, c. 650–670 AD. The Hyakumantō Darani found as charms in wooden pagodas of Japan were broadly accepted as having been printed between 764 and 770 CE. In 1966, similarly printed Dharāṇī were discovered in stone pagoda of Pulguksa temple in Gyeongju, Korea. These are dated to the first half of the 8th century.
How to start the practice:
As stated, Dharāṇī, are used as a sort of mnemonic code, specifically curated to help a practitioner remember the text in which the teaching and incantation comes from, such a practice is a good starting point in exploring the genre of Buddhist text that have the ability to generate positive karma, and dedication of merit to other sentient beings. Remembering and reciting a Dharāṇī is useful, and is a good recommendation for beginners, linked here is also a guide on how to pronounce Sanskrit if you happen to have some linguistic difficulties:

Please note as some Dharāṇī/Paritta are esoteric and passed down by lineage of teacher to student, it is highly recommended for beginners to receive oral transmissions of such text. However, in this short list, all listed text are Sūtric and are free to recite without need of oral transmission.

Bhaiṣajya-Guru-Vaiḍūrya-Prabhā-Rāja Dharāṇī (Used for honoring, and venerating, the Medicine Buddha Sūtra, as well as requesting his spiritual powers to heal and help sentient beings.)
Prajñāpāramitā-Hṛdaya (Sūtra) (Used for honoring, and venerating, the essence of Mahāyāna teachings on Śūnyatā, beneficial at warding off ill calamities, and dispelling negative forces.)
Munīndra-Hṛdaya-Mantraḥ (Shakyamuni Heart Mantraḥ, used for honoring, venerating, and establishing a connection to the Buddha Dharma.)
Śyāmatārā-Mantraḥ (Green Tārā Mantraḥ, used for requesting assistance from Green Tārā Bodhisattva.)
Amitāyus Dharāṇī (Amitāyus Buddha Dharāṇī used for honoring, venerating, and establishing a connection to the Amitabha Buddha Dharma, and for requesting longevity.)
Sarva-Tathāgatāyur-Vajra-Hṛdaya-Dharāṇī (All Thus Come One Life Diamond Heart Dharāṇī, used as an aspiration prayer towards Sukhāvatī, as well as praising, and venerating Amitābha Buddha.)
*Disclaimer, although this is an open mantraḥ, it is highly recommended to follow a teachers instructions on the usage of such a powerful mantraḥ. The Śuraṅgama Mantraḥ request the help of Vajrapaṇi Dharmapāla and is an extremely wrathful mantraḥ, often used at the most extreme of cases. Repeated usage is to advised by a qualified teacher.

It is recommended before the start of any Dharāṇī or Paritta chanting that one is to take refuge in the triple gems, and make aspiration prayers towards one’s goal, an example, as seen in the Theravāda Nikāya:
Namo tassa bhagavato arahato sammā-sambuddhassa. (Recite three times.)
Homage to the Blessed One, the Worthy One, the Rightly Self-awakened One.
Tisaraṇa (Triple Gem Refuge.)

[Inevitable Demise] Chapter one
Set in Ep. 41
The cameramen who had been hiding from the toilets, with the exception of one cameraman standing in the right are more or less starting to think this was a very bad idea.
Afterall these 'tvmen' had suddenly appeared seemingly out of nowhere and started ordering them to this specific location, to- in their words 'show them something cool' which sounded suspicious and worthy of an eyebrow being raised.
In hindsight they were desperate for a solution but you cannot exactly blame them for trusting these newcomers due to the situation but still, it was a bad idea regardless.
The sounds of the abominable toilets singing their signature songs started to echo within the distance, the cameramen on the front who were hiding behind a destroyed car looking at the singing toilets with clenched fists whatever these tvmen are showing it better be goddamn worth it.
It seems the camera man noticed atleast by the looks of it that the tvmen had intentionally led them here judging from how a single tvman is slowly walking on the road in a decent enough distance from them, the only thing they thought of that tv head was that 'was he suicidal or is he showing off?'.
The tvman slowly craned his television head while still walking, looked towards the cameraman on his right and put two of his fingers in his face mimicking a human's way of putting glasses on their eyes.
He uttered the words "protection" In reverse, the cameraman on the front as well as the others quickly put the lens to be safe from the tv's hypnotic light, and looked at the approaching toilets waiting for this 'something' the tvmen wanted to show.
The toilets were grinning erratically and blinded by their own madness, slowly advancing to their retched enemies hoping to slaughter them, they had been so sure of their victory they did not even stop to think for but a moment that they're going towards an obvious trap, well even if they managed to notice it is not like they can escape anyway, because it is already too late.
Some sort of sound similar to a microphone, echoed behind the buildings and it sounded huge, something came out of the vicinity of the building and it was some sort of black smoke.
The toilets stopped in their tracks and faces filled with shock and fear.
They were so scared that none of them moved a muscle and so they waited in apprehension.
Until—
Static, the sounds of an old tv static started to echo within the area.
The cameramen had started to feel some ounce of slight fear, they did not know what would come out of the building so they stood silently.
A Huge hand with metal-like plating on top came out of the black smoke and held the flat roof of a building, gripping its concrete roof so hard it started to crack very fast under the pressure of the hand.
And a heavy thud reverberated the loud sound was accompanied by a slight tremor that caused the ground and nearby buildings to shake, sounds of falling debris echoed in the distance.
And out came a huge tv, so big it could be mistaken as a cinema screen, the sides of the tv seems to be fused with two other tv's, the ends of the 'main' tv seemed to have some sort of handle bars.
At the top of the tv in the center of it looks very reminiscent of a crown and two plated metal on the top head on both edges to most likely protect the tv.
As the rest of the body slowly came out of the building, the Titan took a step that caused slight tremors and kneeled in front of his adversaries as more details of the new but terrifying Titan had slowly unraveled to the spectators below.
The right arm of the Titan has an energy sword attached to it, the sword glowed purple.
Both his shoulders had a huge tv not as big as the main tv head but nonetheless still comparable to a cinema screen attached to it, at the top of it stood two big antennas on each tvs, purple mechanical claws are connected to his back.
Painting the Titan as some sort of tyrannical dark king.
As he looked at the enemies in front of him, he uttered the words "all toilets will die" In reverse.
An intense red light came out of his tvs causing major mental damage accompanied with a powerful hypnosis, the loud sounds of the tv reminiscent of the THX sound blared on the spectators below the Titan.
The toilets expression changed from their grins to a terrified face, they could not handle such an attack and were forced to flushed themselves either by hypnosis or the mental damage they had gained from the screen.
The cameramen who stood still watching the Titan do his attack had some slight screen interference caused by the red light it made their screens to slightly glitch, but thanks to their lens the actual damage would've been more powerful, though there was one thing that made them think twice about trusting these new friends, about their new allies.
They are terrifying, powerful and should not be messed with at all costs, but one thought stood out among the cameramen, who would be able to stand up to this new and powerful faction?
As the attack of the Titan ceased, he slowly stood at full height and the cameramen noticed more details about the huge entity that were obscured by its knees or just the lack of light within the area.
The Titans belt on the middle of it was a small tv attached to it, the knees of the Titan had metal-like plating on it for most likely an additional protection.
The core of the Titan was circular in shape with various claw-like parts, the core glowed bright purple, though there are some sort of white particles and violet electricity surrounding the core.
As the Titan stood silently, thunder appeared behind it making his menacing appearance more terrifying, he slowly craned his tv head towards the cameramen.
Silence ensued momentarily before the Titan gave them an ":3" Emoticon on the main tv screen of the Titan.
meanwhile Camera HQ, Main Command Room
The cameramen who had been watching from the point of view of one of the agents on the scene were silent well... As silent as a mouth less entity could manage.
This... Changes things, the war would surely change with these new powerful faction appearing on the scene, and they can finally do the finishing touches to the upgrades of their Titan.
On the topic of upgrading their Titan, attaching the new anti-parasite system within the nape of their Titan is vital to avoid future unforeseen consequences, then there was the railgun, it was another issue because of the fact it was still a prototype, the damage output might be good enough but it could explode if someone managed to get a lucky hit on the weapon.
They have to finish the holographic shield as well, then there was the jetpack and the shoulder cannons, the Camera Titan's new shoulder cannons are only for temporary use so that they could work on other important projects, in addition the shoulder cannons are only good for crowd control using it for fighting gigantic toilets is highly unadvisable.
The jetpack will have to be finished some other time, the shoulder cannon will take fourth priority with the anti-parasite system being first priority.
With the mind of the cameramen all set, all of them, at least those in power gave out orders the others moved to fulfill their duty, with the extra time they were given by the new mysterious faction, they will do everything in their power to make their Titan's upgrades the perfect definition of a killing machine.
And once the upgrades are finished the two Titans will soon end the war with the alliance's victory.
Unfortunately for the alliance, a bigger threat will come and their arrival will introduce a major catastrophe for the world.
