Hello. I am currently working on implementing logging in functionality using django's built in session authentication system. I have managed to get it set up and working with a view like so: \@action(detail=False, methods=['POST']) def login(self,request): username = request.data['username'] password = request.data['password'] user = authenticate(request,username=username, password=password) if user is not None: login(request,user) sessionid = request.session.session_key return Response({'message': "Logged in!", 'sessionid': sessionid}) else: return Response({'message': "Invalid credentials provided",'username': username, 'password': password}, status=status.HTTP_400_BAD_REQUEST) When calling to this endpoint at 'http://127.0.0.1:8000/uselogin/' with the proper credentials, I get a 200 OK response on both the localhost and postman, with set-cookie headers in the response. On postman any further requests contain the cookie, however on the localhost, it does not. I made sure that the localhost is in CORS' allowed and whitelisted origins, cookie is in the allowed cors headers, CORS_ALLOW_CREDENTIALS is True, localhost is running on https, I have the credentials:include attribute on my requests, the sessionid cookie has samesite none and secure True. All of this and still the same results. I also tried doing it on a different browser than firefox like microsoft edge, still same results. Any advice on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated, feel free to ask any questions if I left out any important details.

I 26F gave my 32F sister "Bethy" some candies and a spa treatment for Mother's Day because I see her as the godmother of my children (1f twins). I did the same thing for my twin brother, 26M "Jace," and he was ecstatic and asked if we could do it together, for old time's sake.
Bethy got angry at me. As mentioned in previous posts, Bethy and I are both SAHMs, although my husband is a master plumber (Micheal 30M) and hers is an elementary school teacher (Jackson 35M). She yelled at me for gifting her something she couldn't afford on her own and how would she do it during the summer when her eldest is on summer break and she doesn't have daycare for her younger kids. When I told her I would happily watch them or take them to the park or a movie, she began to yell. Calling my gift tacky and telling me I could "Shove it up my crooked ass". This was hurtful as I have a spinal cord injury and am an ambulatory wheelchair user.
She slammed the door in my face, taking the gift with her, and I left in tears. After I got home and put my girls to bed, my husband and I watched a movie together, ordered my favorite takeout and he rubbed my back for a little, it helps with the pain. I told him what happened and he suggested that if she didn't want to go, that I should cancel it, especially after the insult.
I ended up canceling her spa treatments and bought one and scheduled the appointment on the same day as Jace's appointment for myself so I can spend time with him. My sister called me this morning and confronted me about canceling her spa treatment, she tried to book an appointment and her certificate was declined. I explained that I canceled it and booked one for myself because it seemed like she didn't want it. She freaked out and told me I was a spoiled little asshole and I should try living her life in her shoes and how she needed the spa treatment more than I did.
I'm a people pleaser and was always taught I had to respect her. I have a hard time not giving her what she wants. AITA?

I, F27 from India, am unemployed and never held a job. I have a master's in English. My academic score has been average throughout my degrees. I have beginners skills in writing. Ideally I would love to teach and wish to be a professor in college but it does not pay. I am slowly becoming the sole earner of my family of 5. The pressure, bad mental health with bouts of depression (have sought help, but I always regress) everything is making it difficult to see clearly.
What are some high paying but low stress career options I can go for at this stage? Ideally I wish it could be work from home since I have to take care of things at home.
I read about computational linguistics, web3 community moderators, etc. Should I prepare for Civil Services? Should I stick to making a career in teaching? Whatever careers I chose it has to be stable/job security since in upcoming years my family will rely on me.

A remnant of humanity lives on beneath the protection of an immense dome. Bereft of history and ignorant of anything beyond the dome's confines, they inhabit an encapsulated and automated City. A vast metropolis built atop the mechanisms which ensure their survival.
All is not bliss however. Residents increasingly hear of illegal actions by those whose curiosity draws them to off-limits areas beneath the City. Police lieutenant Lewis Clay has more than lawbreakers to deal with though. His relationship with a longtime girlfriend is on the rocks, and soon falls apart.
Catherine Westall spends most days working at an orphanage, but her ordinary exterior hides a well kept secret. She’s a delver; one of those who flaunt the City’s laws in their expeditions to restricted sublevels.
When Lewis attempts to arrest Catherine for delving crimes, she narrowly escapes, hoping never to encounter him—or get caught—again. Chance spoils that. Meeting once more in social circumstances, both decide perhaps it’s possible to look past those aspects they find distasteful in the other.
Beginning a more involved, and personal, relationship, they grow closer just as conditions in the City grow bleaker. Earthquakes of unknown cause frighten the citizens, just as everything from plumbing to appliances start to lose reliability. Slowly trusting one another more, Lewis agrees to join Catherine on an expedition below the City. A journey to hunt the disturbances’ cause, and one which will place both in more danger than they’ve ever encountered before.

For Catherine Westall and Lewis Clay, the dome-covered City is the only home either has ever known. They're both curious though, about why the lights on the dome's underside move from east to west over the course of each day.
That curiosity is one of the few things they have in common; considering Lewis works as a police officer, and Catherine involves herself in the practice of delving. An illegal activity which takes its practitioners to forbidden areas beneath the City. She risks her safety, in part, to secure money for the orphanage she manages. Lewis—bound by his duty—tries unsuccessfully to arrest Catherine after becoming stuck with her for a time in the off-limits underbelly. Escaping, she hopes never to see him again, but he, having learned of their shared curiosity, tries to hunt down leads regarding her identity.
Meeting again at a fundraiser for the orphanage, they come to realize that even with their conflicting legal views, they enjoy each other’s company. Planning to meet up again, both wonder if a friendship — or even something more — could be possible.
While his goal increasingly becomes to learn more about her — even to the point of beginning delving himself — he struggles to keep their relationship from damaging his career and other friendships. She finds herself growing fonder of him, while still uncertain what secrets may be safe to share with the charismatic police officer.
Both seek to deepen their relationship, but as more and more citizens blame delvers for an increase in mysterious failures around the City, they find themselves drawn into the dangerous business of trying to diagnose the problems. As inexplicable earthquakes begin to rock the City, both wonder what they’ll be able to accomplish, and whether their lives, or their home, can ever return to normal.

Lewis Clay joined the City police force in hopes of helping his fellow citizens; knowing the job would bring him into contact with criminals. Even encountering delvers—those who make illegal expeditions to the City’s underbelly—wasn’t out of the question. He never expected to actually meet one though.
Catherine Westall, frequent delver, never expected to meet a policeman during one of her expeditions, but there Lewis is, clearly not buying her story about getting lost.
He doesn’t get her name before she escapes his botched arrest attempt, but the two do learn more about one another, including the uncommon curiosity they share. Most residents have never wondered why the City was built, or what — if anything — exists outside the dome above their heads.
Catherine works at an orphanage; interested more in nurturing the children than her bank account. Indeed, the institution is chronically short of money, and her affection for the kids leads to risky profit-seeking delves.
They meet again by chance; neither really looking for a relationship, but finding unlikely companionship in the other. Trust doesn’t come easy, between a law enforcer and a law breaker, but Lewis gains his own interest in delving, just as she struggles to balance career, hobby, and romance.
It isn’t a simple love story however. Necessities more fundamental than law or love are always in demand, and systems providing food, water, and air all begin to falter one after another.
Lewis and Catherine wish they could just enjoy their burgeoning affections, but as quakes begin to rock the City, they realize the most dangerous parts of their lives — so far — are fast approaching.

Is there any specific benefits being either of expected or competitive employees? Does expected employees count technically talented than competitive or vice-versa? Does any of this has promotional and pay benefits better than the other one ?
I am trying to understand before I make any future decisions whether to remain as expected service employee or move to the competitive.
It has been two months since I started a new position as a Fed employee. All I am doing is training which is scheduled till end of the June. I have achieved so many certs that I stoped printing it. Now, I am preparing for CompTIA Security+. So basically, come to the office, study next 8 hours and go home. Lol 😆

I've been trying to figure this out but can't. Not sure if I'm paranoid or not but here we go.
I just installed fresh Ubuntu 24.04 on a Lenovo Thinkcentre (i5-9500) but no matter what I do, some of the hardware security checks fail (Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Device Security). The current security level is HSI:0! (v.1.9.16).
I understand all checks won't pass because of hardware limitations but my most concerning is Intel Management Engine Version which is the only fail in HSI-1 test. I've installed all updates I could find.
Still, the same fail.
So, I'm wondering, should I be worried about the fail or is the system reasonably secure for home-use? If not, is there still something I could do?

So a lots happened this past week. It's a new relationship but there's a lot of his past insecurities and work circumstances I'm coming into. I won't delve too much on the personal details but i know we are all fucked and have our own issues. I see a very bright future with this person. But I think I've reached my breaking point. I've loved, supported and done all I possibly could and more to make them feel secure, supported and loved. But when his upset or in his feelings. Nothing I did to help him matters or is even considered. My feelings and efforts are all out the window. It feels as if it's only him living in the world and his pain. I've expressed I needed space because I can't get through to him and there's no way to effectively communicate right now. So decided to go home. But then the narrative becomes I always leave like everyone else or that I invalidate his feelings. I don't feel like I can have a night to myself where I can just cool off. I've expressed how it's very difficult to communicate when he is in his feelings and that he will hear what he wants too. Right now I apparently don't care how he feels or what he's going through.
I'm a bit lost now and I don't know what to do.

I(33f) work night shift at a hotel in the downtown area of a fairly large city. We have a security guard at night since management is too cheap to fix the door so I can keep it locked overnight. Anyway the security guard is named Bob(61m) and we have always gotten along and he has never made me feel uncomfortable. He is supposed to keep people that are not guests from entering the hotel and loitering, and there are quite a few homeless individuals that come in since the door isn't locked. So the problem is he has started "trying to help" some of the homeless women that come in, and going as far as taking them home even though he barely knows them. They are obviously struggling with drug addiction and are quite vulnerable; the other day he let one of them borrow his car to drive across town! I have told him multiple times how dangerous this is, and there are better ways of helping people who are struggling. But he does not do this with men, only women. He swears up and down he is not sleeping with them, just giving them a ride, or a place to crash for a couple days, etc. I like Bob and don't want to think he is taking advantage of these women, and maybe I am projecting because I was once a drug addict and was taken advantage of by an older man. I don't know, maybe he is just helping out of the kindness of his heart and I am just pessimistic about people's intentions, but I wanted to know what you guys think.

Well, Clefable's votes were unsurprising. The vast majority of voters voted for Gen 6 OU, where Clefable first achieved Peak Clefable - although there were some people noting that it was arguably even more dominant in pre-home Gen 8 OU, where the limited metagame was incredibly kind to it. Clefable has joined Landorus-T in the Forever OU Gang...although, we thought Tyranitar and Garchomp belonged there too, and look how that went.

Moving along, though, we move to Ninetales, the elegant fire fox, which in most cases is a superior browser to Chrome. Aside its design, in most of its early history it was a fairly unremarkable Fire-type special attacker in a universe with many, many, many of those. In Generation 5, however, things began to change for it...
​
So let's get to it. The metagames in question:

Gen 1 UU: You'd think that Ninetales is solidly outclassed by Moltres in a tier that includes Moltres, with no abilities existing to help Ninetales along, and it seems that for a while, this was considered to be the case. However, the current VR tells a different story, with Moltres having fallen off an absolute cliff to the point where it's now tiered in NU, while Ninetales sits much more comfortably as a lead. The reason? Articuno. In Generation 1, Fire doesn't resist Ice, so Moltres (and Charizard)'s weakness to Ice makes their matchups with Articuno awful - and Moltres is the same speed as Articuno, too, making it even worse. Ninetales is faster than Articuno, threatens it with powerful Fire Blasts that have a solid chance to Burn and cripple physical attackers like Dragonite, and can use Body Slam to fish for paralysis on switch-ins. Dodrio moving up also helps, as it CANNOT switch into Ninetales at all. It's got a solid place in the lead metagame due to its truly bad matchup, Tentacruel, being a way too valuable mon to use as a lead (especially when Kadabra exists) and, even though it still has flaws, it really has enough going for it for the VR to place Ninetales in B- rank.

Gen 2 NU: I don't know why Game Freak decided to look at Ninetales and thought 'this thing needs to be nerfed', bringing its Special Attack down from 100 to 80, but they did, and Ninetales is forever cursing the day this happened, dropping it into GSC NU. However, it's a decent mon there. Its high special bulk lets it take on Xatu, Magmar, and Weezing very well while threatening Weezing especially back with Flamethrower (preferred over Fire Blast due to Ninetales's more defensive role), and access to Sunny Day allows it to gain some power back despite the nerf. It also gets Roar to take advantage of Pineco's Spikes, and its defensive profile with limited coverage gives it solid case as a RestTalker. There's just one problem - one of the best Pokemon in the tier is Water-type Octillery, and Dewgong is a solid threat too. Ninetales can't make any real progress against Octillery, and being so hard countered by one of NU's best mons is tough for it. Still, the VR places Ninetales in B+ rank, a very respectable showing.

Gen 3 UU: And due to the addition of the new great Status-inducing Will-o-Wisp, Ninetales got moved back up to UU in ADV!! Where it's...kind of terrible. Unfortunately for Ninetales, in the most recent tier shift, Arcanine entered the tier. Arcanine completely outclasses Ninetales in almost every way, and has the great ability Intimidate, AND higher Special Attack! There is, quite honestly, literally no reason to use Ninetales in the current Gen 3 UU, unless you REALLY want a Fire-type Will-o-Wisp user. The current VR places Ninetales in C- rank, barely above completely useless. Gen 3 UU will be excluded from the poll.

Gen 4 NU: They decided to throw Ninetales a bit of a bone this generation, giving it access to an actual coverage move in Energy Ball and a powerful setup move in Nasty Plot. What's more, its ability in Flash Fire allows it to switch into expected Fire-type attacks from mons like Charizard and threaten them back with boosted moves - and DPP NU is a tier with a number of strong Fire-types! It can also effectively run Choice Specs, or Hypnosis to nail pokemon on the switch. That said, it's stuck using the mediocre Hidden Power Rock to hit opposing Fire-types, and other Flash Fire mons like Houndoom can exploit it quite well. Bulky Waters that don't take too much from Energy Ball, too, can deal with it, especially Mantine. Overall, it's solid, if not amazing, with the VR placing Ninetales in B rank.

Gen 5 OU: It's time for Ninetales's big moment in the sun (ha ha.). As the only non-legendary in Generation 5 with the ability Drought, Ninetales is absolutely essential on Sun teams. That sounds great, yes, but...First off, Sun's big tools against Rain and Sand used to be its powerful Grass-type Chlorophyll mons, specifically Venusaur. That's banned, now, and while Rain and Sand were able to get along without their Swift Swim and Sand Rush, Sun was absolutely crippled. As Ninetales is useless on non-Sun teams, its ability to work is shaky at best, and its weakness to Stealth Rock makes it even harder to use. Unfortunately for Ninetales, its big moment of the sun was before the weather speed abilities ban, and it's just not good enough anymore. The VR places Ninetales in C rank. As unfortunate as it is, I have to exclude Ninetales's sole OU placement from the VR.

Gen 6 PU: And to add insult to injury, Ninetales no longer has exclusive access to Drought, with Torkoal being considered a better Sun setter in most cases, forcing it to lower tiers. These lower tiers have Drought banned, forcing it to the inferior Flash Fire. Gen 6 saw Ninetales fall all the way down to PU, where it's, as is often the case for Ninetales, okay if nothing flashy. Its Nasty Plot and Fire Blast are as strong as ever, which in the era of power creep and Mega Evolution, lands it in a solid niche in a low, low tier. It's still decent (although earlier on in the gen it was considered the premier fire type of ORAS PU), with its ability to force out some mons, however there are just faster mons in lower tiers now, meaning there is plenty that revenges it, like Floatzel, Ursaring, and Simipour. That said, however, Ninetales can absolutely demolish Quagsire with its interesting coverage option in Energy Ball, allowing it to setup break stall without getting walled by Quagsire - a very powerful niche! While Ninetales might struggle against fast frail Water-types, against slower bulkier mons, Ninetales is very much in its element! The VR currently places Ninetales in B rank.

Gen 7 RU: In a nice turn of events, Ninetales is able to end up in a tier where it doesn't have to compete with Torkoal, but Sun is legal. Nasty Plot and Choice Specs remain solid options with its high power, and having the ability to actually use Solar Beam means that Water-types are no longer a huge issue for it, especially slow bulky ones. The addition of Z-crystals is a major positive for a setup mon like Ninetales, as +2 Inferno Overdrive in Sun will obliterate most things that aren't Snorlax or enemy Flash Fire users. What's more, Virizion and Metagross are two of the best mons in the metagame, and Ninetales loves that - even if Salazzle gives it a bit of pause. While it still has its issues of being a bit frail, and being weak to Stealth Rocks, and letting in certain walls like Goodra and Snorlax pretty easily, it's still a very good mon for aggressive or balanced teams when it can come in. The VR places Ninetales in A rank.

Gen 8 ZU: Unfortunately, Ninetales is dropped from the the Drought-legal tiers again, and forced back into its inferior ability. It still has some solid play here, with its ability as a Nasty Plot sweeper being especially threatening in such a low power tier, but it has competition in fellow Gen 1 fire type Rapidash, whose physical ability and Play Rough access to threaten Dragon-types like Altaria gives it purchase. It's still decent enough, but it's a bit of a matchup fish (in part because people tend to prepare more for Rapidash, sometimes ending up with teams that are weak to Ninetales, as they are very different counterplay despite both being faster Fire Types.). The VR currently places Ninetales in B- rank.
