I have an iMac M3, and I'm playing Shogun 2 Morning Sun mod, but it crashes. Before I bought it, I tried playing Shogun 2 on my Windows 11 on the Parallels software trial to get the Morning Sun Mod to work. However, the graphics are limited from low to medium. So, if I buy the standard or the pro edition, would it allow me to play Shogun 2 on the iMac M3 with ultra-quality graphics?

I can adjust the colour temperature on my Raleno LED video light steplessly. Unfortunately, with a neutral white balance on the Logitech Brio 4k webcam, the skin colour of my face always appears too red in video conferences. The fact that I haven't completely darkened the side window so that some daylight is still coming in may play a role here. However, I don't want this during the day either, as I don't want to sit in a completely dark room during the day.
I am now looking for an LED light panel that allows me to reduce the red cast by controlling the individual RGB channels, for example by reducing the green colour. Does anyone know of a manufacturer of a flat LED light where you can not only control the colour temperature with a controller, but also intervene more precisely in the mixture of colours? Alternatively, I would look for an app for MacOS that allows me to control the colour control of the Logitech Brio 4k more precisely than with Logitech's Logitune software.

• Il y avait plusieurs mini-jeux (dont je n'ai aucun souvenirs) et à la fin de chaque mini-jeu, on collectait un pot de peinture d'une couleur et ensuite l'arrière-plan s'assombrissait et la petite fille se mettait à chanter une très courte chanson (à peine 5 secondes de souvenir)
• Je me souviens de 2 phrases précises que dit la petite fille : "C'est pile-poil dans l'ordre !" et "Hé, on a trouvé la couleur jaune"
• J'ai le vague souvenir que sur la jaquette de la boîte du jeu, il y avait la fille dans une montgolfière

RealVNC Viewer not passing keyboard character data but will pass space, CR and arrows (up, down, left, right) - but no letters or numbers; mouse clicks working fine. Version 7.11.0 (r18) running on Windows 11, client is a Raspberry Pi 5 running Raspberry Pi OS 64 bit (Linux, Debian flavor). It was running fine up until shutdown yesterday, hasn't worked today since startup. No software changes were made. Have been using VNC Viewer since 2017 with no issues... until now. Help greatly appreciated

I started learning electronics as a hobby and building DIY kits just before the serious version of chat-gpt hit the internet. And when chat gpt was released, I thought to myself that in a few months it will be so much easier for me as a beginner to search components on mouser using chat-gpt. Now, more than one year after, no one seems to have done this very obvious beneficial implementation.
I just wish that I could open a chat window and ask it to find for example "that typical eurorack power connector" or "a 100k ohms tht resistor, but the one that has a slightly smaller footprint than the usual tht resistor, I don't care about tolerance"... Yes yes, I know about the filters on mouser and while they are quite good, there is also an ocean of foreign terms and words I have to navigate as a beginner to effectively use the filters, and it doesn't help that English isn't my mother tongue.
I also had a look at farnell, where I also don't see any chat-bot integration, and the chat-gpt store also does not seem to have anything specific for assisting with sourcing electronics components.
Surely I can't be the only one who is dreaming about having my own virtual components sourcing engineer.

I built a new pc with a new motherboard and cpu but the rest of the components are the same, its a H610M-E Pro motherboard but im having a problem where no matter what i do in the bios or windows the ssd is just invisable in windows and bios says the m.2 slot is not present. Is this because my ssd is not compatible or what? I have tried everything software sided so it must be something with hardware, checked the conflicting sata ports and everything so its not that. Any help would be appreciated

I love the idea of Kosmik but the execution isnt quite there yet. I plan on trying it out further but theres a couple of things that get in the way. This is my first impressions review and what i intend as constructive feedback
Usability (testing on windows 10)
Smaller stuff easy to improve (but are creating attrition for me constantly)

• (BUG) For me right-click -> create if i dont navigate correctly to the desired option the sub-menu with the options disapear while the main right-click menu still shows. I need to close the menu and re-open it to try again
• Lack of basic keyboard functionality like shift+arrows for selecting text
• Wich is very weird- on one hand things like text editing are telling me 'this is mouse first', meanwhile i cant drag the canvas with the mouse, only by pressing space...?
• Im constantly confused by the delete key not working, instead only the backspace deletes cards
• Cards can only be resized on their corners
• I expected dragging urls would add then to the canvas and bookmarking being some sort of traditional bookmarks. Took me awhile to figure it out
• Theres a Tag button on the browser, but applying tags to the open browser and later closing the browser dont make that url appear anywhere searching for that tag
• 'Bookmarks'(urls on canvas) for me are failing to show any image or preview beyond the default space station illustration (except for kosmik own website)...
• ...and then the app prevents me from resizing the cards RATIO- i can make the card smaller but i cant make it more of a rectangle or very small, im forced to have a big square repeated ilustration for each, and with no alternative like folding then
• Absent settings for the overall app and smaller features or options- like ui size, custom keyboard shortcuts, dark mode

At least on windows feels a bit undercooked. I dont know wether some of those are design choices or features still missing but i feel the design a bit at odds- in some parts it conveys 'use mouse only/first' in others it demands keyboard, and in the mean time some of the common design patterns both for mouse and keyboard arent used or use some non-tradional choice- making it harder to learn, creating some confusion or wrong expectations.
For example the bookmark icon is a vey tradional and ubiqutuous skeumorphic symbol for a very common feature that saves urls or files in a list, tradionally urls. Some apps get away using then for favorite files, photos or other things given their context so the user can imagine the equivalent in a given context... but here it shows alongside the in-app browser, next to an url... Maybe a different icon, like a card with a Plus sign and a tip 'add to canvas'?
I dont understand why tags are in the browser if apparently they only work with cards added on the canvas. If the intent was treating the open browser as a canvas element then said browser should be like a card (for example being able to open multiple browser windows in different universes) as if they were cards. Right now the browser is like a temporary tool...
If the intention (im trying to deduce here) was to apply tags before bookmarking so the bookmark already apply said tags then both operations would work better together- 1 button, the add-site to canvas, and that button opening up a prompt to add tags before confirming if desired.
Overall- Service, app, marketing
I was a bit misled regarding expectations because of a video/moto 'best browser for research' - so i installed it expecting more of a Browser with a canvas then a canvas with a very limited in-app browser. So i came expecting multiple tabs or adding extensions...
I dont mean to say the app should be like a browser BUT it is a interesting area to improve and turn into its differential, given some of the competition and how most people would be using it alongside a browser anyway
In a general sense my impressions:
From the 'best browser for research' perspective:

• Some missing browser features creates attrition, like quickly switching between 2 sites (tabs or some alternative) or having common used urls quickly acessible (like favorites/bookmarks in a traditional sense)
• For example if i have a site i commonly use or search and wanted to quickly open the app requires we add then to a universe. If i make a universe of 'favorites' they will only open those sites on that particular universe... if i want those common shortcuts elsewhere id have to add then to each and every universe...?
• Given the research goal, existing features like tags and search i was expecting things like bookmarks could have descriptions. I can add a bookmark to a universe then create a text/note explaining it on 1 universe...
• ...but then i cant add that same bookmark and that text and its tags in another universe, unless i made a new repeated bookmark and written the same thing again
• Therefore 2 feature suggestions: (1)some bookmark list or browser, where the bookmarks can also have tags even if they exist globally (2)optional description for bookmarks, that would be acessible if/when theyre added from bookmarks to a canvas
• Some useful features from some browsers or famous extensions are great for research, like saving and reopening sessions...
• ...or searching through your history
• Theres complete obscurity how the app handles logins, cookies... or options for different profiles. We can make different universes, but i see no way of having different profiles/spaces (with different universes each) where one im logged in with my work mail and the other my personal one.

I wonder if the app allowed for pages inside cards (not previews, rendered pages) would be a good alternative for things like tabs
From a general canvas-notation perspective

• Universes even tough created/saved locally are always in sync with the cloud - im one of those people that dont like having sensitive data on clouds because leaks and data theft by hackers exist (and do hit even huge companies). I wouldnt create some of the universes/notes i naturally would take in Kosmik, only more general browsing links and quick notes- unless it had an option for optional local-only universes
• A lot isnt covered in the FAQ and i couldnt find the answers, such as:
• I see no options for exporting universes or its notes in any way
• I could have no sense if images copy-pasted/dragged from the browser are like urls the canvas render (so no file size) or copy-pasted files that hit the cloud space quota- im under the impression theyre all copy-pasted (and i feel like they shouldnt, the app should consider every url as that and render the url)
• I can see nowhere how much space been used, left, etc

I have used waaay too many notes and canvas apps in my search for the apps that filled that niche for me like id like, and heck for years a good app with canvas was my most wanted feature that almost no one was doing save for few clunky flowchart apps.
Im glad that now theres been a boom of options and ive been giving everyone a chance- but still not one have all the things id like (i could pinpoint a frankenstein of features from different apps id wish into one)... Kosmik is already ahead of half of the competition (imo) just by having both a native app and web view options, and by the apps having the files locally+sync instead of rendering from the cloud only all the time (much faster and snappiers wich is a big deal for me) - and the web/browsing+canvas angle is a very interesting proposition
But that is where i got disapointed- the web-browsing in app alongside canvas is still very limited to hit the potential of that proposition. As it is right now, for example, i feel more confortable having any browser in a smaller window and copy-pasting urls into Kosmik then relying fully on the internal browser, save for quick search queries
I focus so much on the browser aspect not only because it was how i first found about kosmik but also because without that angle it falls short on some alternatives. Not completely btw, drawing tools and pdf handling seem to be great and ahead of some alternatives (some are good at drawing but barely beyond that, others better as notes but with terrible or no drawing)...
But i still feel like the 'best app for research' (browser+canvas/notes+pdf), emphasis on the browsing is the best angle, best bet for Kosmik to grow above alternatives... but extra emphasis on potential- i dont feel like its hitting that note quite yet, at least not on windows.
I will try to stick with Kosmik for awhile despite the clunkiness and attriction i feel, but not as id like to use it and more like a buffer between traditional browsing/searching and taking my notes- im planing on inserting Kosmik in between as quick notes for links before later refering to then on notes elsewhere... but i confess im sort of forcing this workflow just to keep using kosmik and keep tabs on updates- im sticking around in the hopes of what may come and not for what it currently is.
I have high hopes for the app and in my case (i lean more towards power user then casual) even if i use other apps a good better version of Kosmik in this niche would fit for me even alongside other apps. Heck i currently use 2 similars in tandem (similar in notes/canvas) for their different strengths and niches- and neither have carved web browsing research as their niche

Microsoft allows you to download an ISO image of Windows 10 and Windows 11. Once the ISO is downloaded you can open the file and run the setup.exe. During the install just make sure at the end you have it selected to "keep files and settings", it will take 1-2 hours to install but if you are getting error messages or just Windows is running weird this should fix your computer.
NOTE: this won't speed up your computer or fix hardware issues

I've been grappling with a persistent issue for the past six days, spending many hours each day trying to resolve it, but to no avail. The problem involves the Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) settings getting disabled in response to various system events. I have G602 and G13.
I plan to install an older Windows version (1909) suspecting that this could be related to some lock-out features introduced by Microsoft, although I am not certain which version introduced these features.
Has anyone experienced something similar, or do you have insights into how display rendering and communication between drivers and services in Windows operate?

Here's a detailed breakdown of the issue:
Before installing an nvidia 2070, I was using an AMD APU where the problem rarely occurred, Triger - mostly just causing issues with the OCR integrated into PowerToys. Symptoms - included severe mouse lag, cursor stuttering, and sometimes a complete cursor freeze or a black screen. Fix- Restarting the graphic drivers using keyboard shortcuts would fix. Additionally, another issue with PotPlayer during fullscreen video playback; videos stuttered, but exiting fullscreen resolved the problem. Videos streamed from HBO/Netflix or YT did not encounter this issue.
After installing the 2070, the problem worsened and now additional triggers cause the bug.
Triger: - taking a screenshot causes a system hiccup after about 5 seconds; - launching Discord results in a bug about 10 seconds after the app runs smoothly.
Symptoms: If I move the cursor during this time, it temporarily freezes and makes several jumps before returning to normal function but now without LGS settings, appearing as if LGS is deactivated and the mouse reverts to the 'on-board memory' profile settings. LGS stops working altogether, including my G13 keyboard, which becomes inactive.
Fix To restore proper function, I no longer need to reset the graphic drivers. Now, in most cases, simply giving focus to LGS, like switching to it using Alt+Tab to the 'customize pointer settings' tab where you adjust the mouse speed and DPI, reactivates the correct profile. However, LGS must be open on this specific tab.
The error seems to be triggered by:

1. Severe stuttering, already present with the AMD APU, continues in applications taking control in fullscreen, such as the previously mentioned OCR tool and now also with partial screen captures using ShareX.
2. The error is also triggered by launching or shifting focus to various programs, such as starting Discord, activating a screensaver, or occasionally while watching YouTube in fullscreen or switching to Firefox. Some applications always trigger this bug, like Discord, while others like Firefox only sometimes do.

It seems like an error occurs that temporarily halts and restarts, possibly the drivers or a service, leading to a loss of communication with LGS. Although LGS is still running without internal issues, the pathway connecting the mouse with the cursor bypasses LGS until it is refocused, seemingly restoring the control path. The Windows event log does not show any errors or warnings related to this.
What has been tested:
these things have been enabled and disabled or changed to check if they affect the error:

1. Running as administrator
2. HDR
3. Display scaling in Nvidia panel
4. Refresh rate in Nvidia panel
5. In the video section: Telecine
6. Video content changed to use Nvidia settings
7. Refresh rate
8. Precise color mode
9. HDCP off, by modifying the registry and it is indeed disabled, as informed by the Nvidia panel
10. Scaling disabled, scaling mode set by games and programs turned off
11. G-sync
12. Nvidia overlay
13. Drivers for creators
14. In the system, disabling the display of protected content etc. DRM, despite the introduction of these three changes below, Windows still blocks protected content e.g., blocking screenshots in KeePass. Done: bcdedit /set nx AlwaysOff
15. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Kernel\ -DisableStackProtection
16. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System -EnableSecureContent
17. Uninstalling all drivers using DDU from Guru3D
18. Installing a new system and only installing drivers and LGS
19. Installing the oldest drivers for this card, version 456.71

Despite these adjustments, the issue, though less frequent, still persists.

I recently upgraded my PC and want to repurpose my old PC to be a NAS and I have the hardware part figured out but am trying to decide between if I just create the RAID in windows and share the drive or if I should install UNRAID or TrueNas.
The main purpose is to have a NAS that I can edit off of and get at least 600 MB/s read/write speeds. While it would be nice to have my NAS also set up as a second PC to do background rendering/transcoding in it isn't a necessity.

Reasons why I would go with just setting up a RAID in Windows:
-Pretty easy to setup
-Would be able to pass background rendering easily via watch folders to that PC
-Wouldn't need to buy a new software (as opposed to UNRAID)
Reasons why I would go with UNRAID/TrueNAS:
-The main purpose is setting it up as a NAS and instead of just doing a drive share on Windows it makes sense that I would set up my computer with an OS purpose built to do that.
-I could use the NVMEs as a cache
In the end I prefer the easy solution of just setting things up in Windows but if UNRAID or TrueNAS will provide better performance and stability then I would go with that route. Has anyone created their own NAS before and if so how did you set it up from a software side of things?

Hi Linux friends I'm turning to you as I'm out of resources. I recently installed Ubuntu Studio on my Mac Pro hoping to move all my audio recording to Linux for good. I usually work with Arch for software engineering but wanted to avoid all the Pipewire/Jack configuration so I went with Ubuntu Studio 24.04.
Problem is that I have audio crackling in pretty much all the DAW I tried. The computer shouldn't be the problem in terms of resources I think, it has:

• 2x 6 core Xeon CPU (hyperthreaded to 12 so total of 24 "cores");
• 64gb of RAM;
• GTX680; I'm running Nouveau instead of the Nvidia drivers, with Nvidia, the desktop environment simply not load at all, I tried a couple of things but the only thing that made it work was to move to Nouveau. I order an R9 280X hoping it'll be less a pain to have the OG drivers running;
• 500gb SSD;

For the DAWS:

• In Studio One; When the window is focus the crackling is insanely annoying, there's a lot of it even in track monitoring. Interesting thing is that once the window is not focus (on another desktop for instance), the crackling almost stops, it's still there but really less important. The UI is glitchy since it requires Vulkan and Nouveau doesn't have support for it but it's decent enough to just work. I don't think that should impact audio though
• In Bitwig Studio; Still crackling either in playback or recording, less than Studio One but I can still hear it.
• In Ardour; I have noticed it much to be honest but I just don't know it much, like I can't figure how to change the audio settings and I simply have no output.

I get the same either in 48k/64 samples or 44k/1024 samples
I'm thinking that there might be some OS configuration I need to do to tell these software to use as much CPU as they want but I never had to configure that before I can't find useful information.

While i have a decent windows 11 gamepc, i have installed windows xp on some older device (2007) i had still laying around as use for retro games. i got clamwin on it, and it seems decent enough to do the job on that windows xp pc. it has no realtime prot., but it can scan (memory/files/hdd/remove/desinfect) and it has a gui which is clean enough aswell as a tray. the only downside is that the scanning is ludicrously slow.
i mostly only plan to use legit software on that pc, and scan e.v.e.r.y single file/disc literally before installing or using it on the windows xp pc on my gamepc with kaspersky and defender. is clamwin sufficient enough for this ? i plan only to scan with it a couple of x per month. or should i dl another antivirus for this xp pc ?
btw. i plan to never hook that windows xp pc to the internet - i have read on the net and seen on yt that this would be a very bad idea to do.

Hello. I have had this laptop for what is 4 years now. I bough it for 600 euros and was branded as a failry good laptop. It definelly wasnt good but it was able to play most games at 60 fps medium graphics no problem. I runned a test on userbenchmarks and got 40% gaming a 99% desktop and a 68% workstation. But this isnt what i am talking about. 1 year ago things got bad. My laptops cpu and gpu started overheating massively reaching 110 degrees Celcious from the normal 70 degrees. My laptops fan also started to turn off and on all slow down massivelly. My Cpu, a AMD Ryzen 7 3700u, clock speed started crashing every 5 seconds from a 2.8GHZ to a 0.4 GHz. My Gpu, an AMD Radeon Vega 10, is an integrated graphics card and its clock speed fell to 200 MHz from my normal 700 MHz. My Ram, 8gb 2400 MHz DDR4 only has 6gb available and 3 of them are used in i dont know where, so only 3 gb. My Gpu Memory clock speed is going crazy some times and some times not.
In general my fps went from 60, medium graphics, in World of Warships to 30 in lowest graphics. My fps went from 60 maximum graphics in Roblox, to 20 in lowest. My fps went from 60 medium in trackmania to 30 in low. From 260 in TMNF to 70. My fps went from 60 in hearts of iron to 15 while the game speed slowed by 3 times at its minimum. After that happened i started to search for any solution, trying to figure out whats wrong but even 2 months of searching every single word related to laptops and issues i found nothing anywhere near represending my case. It was about 1 month after that that my laptop fan started making weird cranky noises from time to time and generally every time i opened my laptop. after that my laptop started to shut off many times because of my cpu getting way to overheated. One day my cpu reached 115 degree mark where it normally shut off but it was going 0.1 GHz that the emergency turn off didnt even work until it reached 148 degrees. I was using AMD Radeon Software by the way. I spend another hundet of hours searching for anything that could help me but there was nothing. I did everything suggested to me by alot of people. 5 months ago is the time now and my laptop has gotten even worse. Every time i press restart my laptop simply closes and doesnt open. The turn off button doesnt work most times because my laptop crashed on the turn off screen. I get the blue screen and i cant get out. I am forced to do repairs which dont work. In the words of the repair screen "Repair has failed, try again" (It didnt say that but thats the short version). So i had to do a factory reset again. Thankfully the restart and turn off button work fine. 4 months go by with my laptop overheating problem having cooled down. Some games dont load, Power point crashes every time which is very importand for my homework. Word doesnt work either so i cant do my homework. At that point i got frustrated beyond believe because now it isnt only my gaming life getting effected but my school grades. I scout for any answers.. Nothing again. 2 weeks ago i did a Userbenchmark and my scores were: 4% Gaming, 43% desktop, 27% workspace. 1 week ago my laptop started getting very big and sometimes long stutters when my laptop completly froze. I have QuickCpu for monetaring my cpu and the result of that stutter was a straight line with the same stats and time not moving. My laptop has crashed many times, ALT f4 hasnt worken many times because of how slow my laptop is moving but despite it QuickCpu has always kept working. For it to display a straight line were time apparently doesnt move.. something aint right. And now we reach today. Most games load now. Powerpoint, word and the rest dont work still. I did the Userbenchmark again and got the same results. Stutters are getting longer every time i get one. I got another blue screen. Everything is starting to lag and i am noticing a time delay between me pressing buttons in the keyboard and actually typing it. The same with my mouse. The weird cranky noise from my fan still goes on till this day. Fps has gotten worse. From my 60 fps in medium in War thunder i now get 20 in the old videocard setting with lowest. every other game has lost fps too but on this scale. I was getting 60 fps in medium settings when i had the issue not before. And before anyone points out drivers, all of them are the latest. And no getting a new laptop isnt an option, Neither is getting a pc. The only thing working fine at this moment of time is windows updates.
Hope anyones has any information, any tips, anything that can help me i am glad to hear it. Like just throw out random ideas for me to try.
