Platform: Pretty sure it was only on PC, Windows
Genre: 2D, Puzzles/Riddles
Estimated year of release: All school pcs had them iirc, mid 90's/early 00s.
Graphics/art style: The game was somewhat realistic, a lot of egyptian related items/themes, I don't remember any real life humans in the game, all cartoon scary humans/gods.
Notable characters: Egyptians (I think some of the gods but can't remember exact ones), You are a explorer (again memory is hazy)
Notable gameplay mechanics: I remember getting items which were used to progress, there were text boxes when characters were talking (IIRC), the choices you made mattered.
Other details:
Perhaps this game was a puzzle game with multiple eras, and I just never got past the first era which was Egyptian, I can't exactly remember. I do remember it being really confusing. I'm remembering perhaps you start off in a time machine or plane and crash land in Egypt and have to collect stuff to get out (could be waffle tho). The game was kind of creepy/spooky at times. There was a scene/setting with a blowdart, someone gets poisoned and u have to heal them or shoot them I can't remember.

This isn't for a game or anything I just had a random thought. Changelings in C:TL are made by the Gentry taking a person through the hedge into Arcadia and twisting them to their liking then the person escapes (often let go by True Fae, to allow them the story of pursuing an escapee, as that helps to define the True Fae's existence) and returns to the mortal world more glamour (dream-stuff I think is the easiest way to explain it) than flesh, and able to harness the Pacts and Oaths the True Fae made with different aspects of reality (as well as theoretically make their own, although there isn't any mechanic for that beyond pacts with other thinking beings).
A Mage in M:tA is a human who's soul has Awakened, letting them view the world through a supernal world (a frame of reference based on an underlying truth of the world, to my understanding) and use the power of their soul to warp reality (with the cavaet that the power of the majority of unawakened souls is greater than any one awakened one, so the more a magical feat differs from perceived reality the more likely "reality" is to strike back).
So would it be possible for a Changeling to Awaken as a Mage, or for a Mage to be taken and become a Changeling? Thoughts?

Important things to keep in mind!

1. Opting in means that the publisher is allowing their game to be on GFN. But, it is not a guarantee NVIDIA will actually add it. It takes a little bit of work to test and add a game. In the past, we've found that most reasonably popular games that opt-in do get added. But, for lesser known titles, it is more hit and miss.
2. These are NOT the only games that will arrive on GFN! Some of the biggest Steam titles to land on GFN did so without opting in beforehand (opting in only right as they arrived). Plus, games coming from other stores (Epic, Xbox, BattleNet etc.) are not included in this list for obvious reasons.

Hey, everyone. Just joined this page because I need serious help.
My husband has about $30,000 in debt on three credit cards. We are currently paying the interest only (about $560 per month) just to keep our heads above water. Our game plan right now is to sell this fixer upper he bought a couple years ago so we don’t bleed from paying the mortgage (his parents allowed us to move into their cabin for a year to save money), so we’re hoping we can put enough lipstick on this pig just to get it sold.
I heard that you can stop payment on credit cards, (which I understand will wreck your credit) and eventually, after a year or two and after receiving letters from the credit card companies asking to settle for a smaller amount, you can actually make a deal with them. I also heard, that in doing so, you can request that your bad credit be eliminated in the process. Can anyone confirm this? Or does anyone have a better way to get out of this? I’ve personally never had debt (besides a car loan payment and maybe $1000 I owed this dumb situation) so this is so scary for me. We just had a son and I’m having a hard time emotionally dealing with this.

I’ll try to keep this as short as I can. I’m due to start my PGCE in September. All being well, it’ll be everything I want/expect it to be and I’ll embark on a new teaching career in a year’s time. That said, I know that classroom teaching isn’t for everyone (as the drop out rates indicate) and whilst I’m confident it’s something I will enjoy, I want to ensure I make the most out of the experience whatever I decide to do afterwards.
A big factor in my decision to begin teacher training was how much I’ve enjoyed helping students with their uni applications/interview prep - something I’ve done on a freelance basis for the past 5/6 years - and my hope is that this is something I can get involved with during my upcoming placements (and future career). I’m aware that a lot of international schools actually have dedicated college counselling roles and I’d love to learn more about them.
As I understand it the application process is similathe same as teaching roles but is that where the similarities end? I saw it mentioned under one post that these roles typically follow the teacher pay scale, but another poster suggested the contrary.
In terms of experience, what would a typical candidate profile look like? With teaching roles it seems that their is a general set of expectations/hierarchy of desirable qualities (min. 2 years exp., subject specialism, CPD, Masters etc.), but this doesn’t seem to be the case for college counsellors.
How competitive are they? More/less/equal to teaching roles.
How prevalent are they? Do these dedicated positions only exist within the so-called top tier schools, or are they ubiquitous? Does this vary by country?
Are there any visa differences? For instance, China’s 2 year teaching experience post-certification requirement is pretty clear, but with no college counselling qualification standard, how does it work?
For some context, my background is: Undergrad at Cambridge > Founded a startup (unrelated field)/freelance uni guidance > PGCE Oxford (I cringed writing that, but it’s relevant to the post)
With this in mind, what steps could I take to best position myself for gaining a role as a CC down the road? - My experience is solely restricted to U.K. apps, how best to learn about US/EU/Canada etc? - If I find after my PGCE I’d rather go down this route, am I better getting a teaching role that allows for uni guidance responsibilities (I guess to kill two birds with one stone), OR to move into a full time role with a private education consultancy to build experience? - Is the above even necessary? Might I be eligible for CC roles straight after the PGCE? - Any advice on how I might leverage my time at Oxford with CC in mind? Obviously I’ll be very busy with placements, and the freelance stuff will have to take a back seat, but seeing as it’s where a lot of int. students like to apply, there’s probably some advantages to being in situ and having access to the people there.

TLDR; For those that are/work with college counsellors, what can you tell me about the role? How to get into it? What can I do as a prospective PGCE student to make myself an attractive candidate for such roles if I decide not to pursue classroom teaching? What makes a good/bad CC?

Having spent a few dozen hours in the game & menu loading a save file that had 230 gold bricks……. I realized how frustrating this game was and the potential it could’ve had. I just am at a loss for words on the game. This game had SO MUCH POTENTIAl but had too much focus on the toys, & bugs or game breaking engine problems.
I haven't touched dimensions in a hot minute but.. really wish lego added more PATCHES before they shut down the game & wish it got its own remastered lego game without the toys…. or some version with a % meter & better save system…. Feel like if TT worked longer on it, they could have been better fixes with the game & the other lego ip dlc’s.
I noticed a few times HOW ANNOYED I was when my many save files from 2019, 2023, & 2024 all were gone….. on ps4 I just gave up caring and was disappointed.
Starting with the dlc things felt like each dlc was the weakest entry of all the new story levels. all the other lego film games got it so why not lego batman movie.. ALSO THE PUZZLES THE COLOR PUZZLES THE KEYSTONES all annoying. DOING THEM EVERY DAM TIME I GOT SOOOOOO BORED… decent game, fun worlds, annoying locking content in it and no 100% to finish. Only letting the player use a character…. That was Dedicated TO THAT SPECIFIC world locking you out… is annoying also cant access mini-kits without said character… This is not fun TT….
The best level was probably fantastic beasts & that could’ve & should have been added in its own lego Hogwarts FB saga game.
I enjoyed the lego ninjago game more then I thought I would, & the first lego movie game was cool just felt weird they put Lego Batman movie in dimensions vs its own separate actual lego game.
The movie scene cutscenes for each dlc were recreated in the dimensions in-game engine. Very disappointing as the quality difference is very noticeable. On the contrary, The LEGO Movie Game used movie cutscenes beautifully and it worked out really well. Could be a licensing issue, but if not I have no idea why they didn’t just use movie cutscenes where they could. I understand not wanting to release 60% of the movie in the game, but they could always shape it around the scenes shown in the trailer. The batman story pack felt like devs rushed it…. Not bringing actors back for discount va’s. Robin sounds like a kid in this dlc not anything like Michael cera. I can understand if they didn't get every one back for the game for rights or contract issues but just was weird. & newt or the FB story were interesting using new keystone & magic abilties. The ghostbuster ones were weird since I never cared for the movie..
There are a few differences like In the dlc levels, Batman is picked up by Alfred outside the power plant and heads directly to Commissioner Gordon's retirement party. In the film, he heads home and the retirement party is the next evening.
Some of the voice work is off. Many characters don’t sound like they did in the movie (I know they’re different VA’s) Alfred sounds nothing like movie Alfred (Ralph Fiennes), Robin sounds nothing like movie Robin (Michael Cera), etc. Other LEGO projects have had fairly good voice replication.
The LEGO Batman Movie expansion is all and all a success. It’s given us the best portal base so far, as well as the first expansion to give us 2 mini-figures which are both great. The game is great and funny as well as a decent length. The game only suffers from occasional bugs and terrible voice acting.
Maybe I just really disliked the keystone puzzles but I was really disappointed in it overall. The scenes were funny bringing in joker & all the villains, I enjoyed seeing the gremlins & agent smith from matrix & sauron’s eye but wish they made a lego Batman game not within dimensions.
If you want to play around in the LEGO Batman Movie HUB world you can access to the HUB world for maximum fun. Id say just try the hub level if you are interested but I felt bored with the lego batman movie game dlc levels. Sadly its REPLAY-Ability was a 5… compared to fantastic beasts and others.
imagine what they could've done with a full roster of batman's villains & heroes in a full open linear game with gotham, & sure we've had tons of batman games but just loved will arnett's version of batman. I really love will arnett so felt like dimensions needed more of that batman.
Too much clutter & focus on building vehicles when they aren't all that interesting or useful…. Switching from the ecto car to the ghost trap each time felt stupid. Even tho they fixed it in 2016 with the characters instant traps. Flying characters freak out when you are next to the edge of the map & fall off repeatedly or just stand there hovering… did NO ONE THINK about patching that?
No percent on gold bricks collected, or the items…. Why couldn’t they added a save system where if you lose your file you can save & quit with the bricks you found why is it on ps4 ps5…. Somehow deleting the game doesn’t remember where you left off?? Was this a patch that they never fixed?
Also, anyone else find it weird that the courtroom from Ghostbusters 2 isn't in the world? They even have the whole Titanic, something that only appears for 30 seconds in the movie, but one of the most important scenes isn't in the world at all or hell adding more side characters or locations why not explore inside of a building?
Also X-PO talks too much, every line of him talking during hints. I've made the choice to leave the main campaign unfinished just so he can stay silent while I play other levels. In the actual campaign and cutscenes he's fine but they made a huge mistake making him react to puzzles.
The bugs and lack of polish ruin the game..massively this is a massively outdated engine and the more they keep adding to it the buggier the games get. I'd love to see a new one built from the ground up for next gen capable created of anything they can think of with some impressive graphics. When you look at the fidelity of ratchet and clank on PS Pro there's no reason this game can't look as good as the Lego movies or very close, it's just laziness and greed (lack of investment from WB wanting to just churn out content quickly on the old engine) even on ps4 its annoying losing your save file deleting the game then reinstalling It AND LOSING ALL YOUR PROGRESS!!!!
So many boring hubs, & races locking variety or enjoyment, too many hubs that had New York…ghostbusters 1980 New York, ghostbusters 2016 New York……. FB New York…..Lego Batman movie Gotham hub just looks like New York.
The vehicles are very boring, not very interesting too small. Why is chima here??? Random moments that just feel weird the battle arena was fun but after a while I got bored.
Also, I kinda wish there were in game unlockable characters: Like if you bought the Sonic dlc, beating quests would unlock the ability to buy Amy, Tails, Shadow etc. or The Simpsons allowing you to buy Marge, Lisa, maggie or each of the ghostbusters, etc. with studs.
Overall it was an interesting level but could’ve been cooler if we got a lego Batman movie game & just surprised at it not being its own game instead of within dimensions. I know sadly this likely wont happen tho.. it disappoints me that the game is mostly looking at build instructions, back & forth again and again….. I am very upset dimensions wont ever be remastered added with better patches because what I had played felt muddied & not crafted well. I don’t mean to be so negative but it was weird having these problems front & center.

I write this as a professional counselor who wants the best for Luka. I’m in my 40s; been a Mavericks fan since the 90s. I love Luka’s game and it’s been a pleasure watching him develop as a basketball player over these last years. Luka’s skill set is simply staggering.
That being said: the next necessary evolutionary step in Luka’s game is going to require a leap in his emotional intelligence and his self-awareness. Specifically, he’ll need to learn how to channel his anger and frustration rather than allowing it to push him into bad decisions and he needs to realize that the way he conducts himself on the court (body language, complaining to refs, chastising teammates, etc.) has the ability to negatively impact everything from team morale to the whistles he does or does not get from the refs.
Leaders are most needed during crisis: when the game gets chaotic or momentum seems to be swinging away from you. Having a confident, steady leader who is also a world class baller can stabilize the whole team. Jokic plays this role on the Nuggets. LeBron has been doing it for years. Shai did it tonight for the Thunder.
I’ve counseled young men for a large part of my career, and I understand how challenging growth in these areas can be. For Luka especially, his unbelievable talent has allowed him to play at the highest levels even while behind in immature and underdeveloped ways emotionally. But if he cares about winning, he needs to hire a therapist and work on this area of his life just like he would work on his dribbling or his trick shots.
I’ve seen a lot of comments about his conditioning. While that could certainly be better, it’s his on-court immaturity that’s holding him back from true greatness. He’s very young and it’s not unusual for this to take time. But I hope he has people in his life who he trusts that could suggest he work on this over the coming years.

I have an idea for a new kind of westmarch. Some of this will be hard to grasp. I am not trying to argue its points. If you are interested let me know.
Everyone is their own dm. This is the main point. You paid for the content, use it as you wish.
Since you are your own dm. You approve your own characters. This means you decide what content is allowed on dndbeyond.
You can solo or form a group. A dm will be decided upon by the group. Usually this is the person advertising. When forming a group players will just br upfront about what they want.
Homebrew. Go for it. When you post in LFG you will list what rule set is being used. 5e will be the most common. This also goes for optional rules. Homebrew will get tricky but I think its doable. Communication will be important. Their are some tricks to this. Like having your custom things be documented in a way that its explained upon use. Avrae custom attacks allow for this. Whatever the homebrew it should ideally be setup through custom commands.
I understand why servers set common rules and standards. Players should be allowed to decide this for themselves on an adhoc basis as they form groups.
There is no content to balance against. There will be narratives and example combat created. But players will be encouraged to add to it and run with it.
Primarily I need some staff to work put the details of our shared vision. Dms and players for sure. It feels like an exciting opportunity to really put d&d to good use.
At its core its to facilitate roleplaying. This is what I want to emphasize on the server. Not arbitrary rules dictacted by server staff. Not saying that wm servers are wrong. I am just burnt out on them. Having to start the grind to 20 again. It makes no sense. It is a game of imagination and creativity. I feel that arbitrary rules are prohibit that.
I very much do not want to involve any kind of gacha mechanics. The server should just be fun. This is all we need to encourage growth and activity. Mechanics designed to reward players for logging in, forcing them through grinds that have a cap with daily and weekly resets or limiting character respecs. I just don't understand why we do it to ourselves.
Since every player is their own dm. They can respec whenever they want outside combat. They can level up freely in town. Rest as often as they want. Award themselves anything. Even determining how a rule is to be applied when concerning their own characters.
Erp and nsfw. We just need to follow discord rules. I understand that allowing it prevents having a permalink. This will ultimately need to be discussed with other staff. Allowing it will quickly push away some players and draw in others.
Player owned channels for things like homes, shops, taverns. I'm in favor of it all. With something about no use in x days leading to removing them to make room for new ones. There is a channel limit after all.

I'm at my wit's end. The office politics in my workplace are OUT. OF. CONTROL. It's like high school all over again, but with way more expensive suits.
I've always tried to just focus on my work and be a good teammate, but it feels like that's not enough. I see people getting ahead by sucking up to the boss and throwing their colleagues under the bus, and it's making me sick.

Hi, I'm new! I was referred from the cptsd sub to the maladaptivedaydreaming one but their rules say you have to be suffering from it, and I don't think I'm suffering from daydreams so here I am. Their rules listed this sub.
I daydreamed a lot and made up my own world, with characters aka imaginary friends, starting at 11 as a trauma coping mechanism clear through high school and into college. It's how I got to sleep everynight and distracted myself during the day and coped with everything. TBH I still have them...just don't rely on them as much. Nobody knows cause I feel like they'd all think I'm crazy.
Where did all of your characters come from? Idk the term but that's what I call mine. They're all almost exclusively characters from animes, games, or tv shows. The very first character was Kururu from the PS1 video game Rhapsody: a Musical Adventure.

i go to school out of state, and i have been very homesick and do not enjoy it here. i am transferring next year. my girlfriend lives in my home town. The school I go to is on a quarter system so l do not get out of school until June 10. My friends will all have been home for an over a month by then. A few months ago, my girlfriend and I bought tickets to see an artist we both like at red rocks (we have both seen this artist before but not together), and for her to come visit me. both are refundable. BUT my friend here, just told me she will be going home that weekend so she will not be able to drive us to the concert like planned. I looked into flights and found Remo flights for me to come home. As it is memorial weekend, I will be able to go home for six days. In this time, I could see my family, my friends, and my girlfriend. However, my girlfriend is sad that we will not be able to have a five nights sleepover as originally planned (our parents are strict and will not allow this otherwise). at the same time, I feel anxious about that although my roommate approved of this, I do not want to make her feel uncomfortable by having my girlfriend sleepover for such a long period of time. My question is, how do I decide if if I should go home, or if I should just keep my original plans. My girlfriend said she will not be mad at me, but she will be very disappointed because our plans have changed and we will not be able to see the artist together. She has visited me twice before, so this will not have been her only opportunity to visit me at my school. pros: gf saves $150+ (flight, concertaticket), get to see friends family and gf, save money on uber and food, won't feel bad for roommate cons: no sleepover (her feelings more than mine), not "unlimited" one on one time with gf, can't see artist together at cool venue, gt will bedisappointed, miss a few classes ( can make up all)
tl;dr - I need to choose between my long-distance girlfriend coming to visit me as planned, or me coming home to see her, my friends and my family, where she also lives.

Can I ask for some advice about something? What would you do if you are in my place. my best friend let's call her Ruby. Ruby moved about two years ago now, she was going to come back and visit for graduation week and wanted the friend group to hang out like we used to, when i told her i didn't believe it would be possible she has continued to push for us to all hang out. I finally told her the reason that it would not work out she completely ignored me. Now the reason the friend group hanging like we used to won't work out is because this ex friend of mine who I'll call cici randomly after a school essay I wrote quite talking to me and started to spread rumors about me the essay was supposed to carry so sort of theme that means somthing to us so I wrote mine on how it can feel to be in the middle of a friend group that is arguing and not knowing what to do. I will copy and past the essay below the rest of the story. After I turn the essay in cici somehow gets a hold of it and spins it to sound like I'm attacking her and im bullying her and so for the month of February everyone ignores me which really hurt because I had no idea why as they just on day started to ignore me it also was my birthday that month and I had no one to share it with. After a while lila,Taylor and Sara realize what happened and apologized for what they did and I quite trying to communicate with cici. After I quite reaching out to her and trying to protect a dying fire my mental health improves to a point where not only I noticed but my teachers noticed also. Back to my earlier topic I told ruby that I refuse to hang out with cici because she has been treating me like shit and my parents won't even let me see/talk to her outside a school sanctioned event because at are very last sleep over before she she started to ignore me almost ended with me In the hospital because her brother threatened me with a knife and their dog attacked me because i used self defense to get the knife from her brother. During this sleepover cici's parents were awar of what happened and didn't tell my mom so after that I wasn't allowed back to their house. Even after all that I still tried to keep that friendship alive if not only because I cared for cici but also for ruby. Still despite all these reasons ruby refused to split her time between us and Is no longer coming. AITAH for refusing to hang out with someone who has betrayed my trust and put me in a dangerous situation just because my friend who moved away wants us to hang out together?
Here is the essay
Just because your friends are friends doesn’t mean they will always understand. A few days after spring break in 8th grade my friend Cici started hanging out with a girl that the rest of our friend group doesn’t like because she is mean and rude. So we told her what we thought of this girl and that she could hang out with her but we didn’t want to be near a person like that, however Cici did not listen and kept inviting her to hang out with us. My other friend Sara was starting to get really upset because this girl was calling her names and bullying her. This same girl had also left intentional bruises on my body because I told her I already had a partner in pe. Finally, after months and months of off and on fighting it was the last day of school. Sara had finally had enough of how the girl had treated us and snapped as she listed off all the hateful and violent things that this girl had done to me, Lila, Ruby some of our other friends. The girl then started to ball saying how all of us are liars and cici shouldn'tlisten to us about anything that we say. During this entire situation I stayed quiet and listened to what the others had to say, because I wanted to say something but didn't know what to say to fix the situation.For weeks after that cici and sara refused to talk to each other, until I finally managed to get them to both apologize. Then for a while after that everything seemed good. A new girl who I will call Tyler moved to town and we basically absorbed her into the friend group. Things were going well until about four weeks into our ninth grade year. Sara started to be exceedingly hostile the rude girl Cici had been hanging out with sense last year, Which caused fighting to break out. So then Sara started to distance herself from us to hang out with a guy who i also used to consider a friend i will call him jem. Despite that fact I will always respect others boundaries even if they don’t respect mine and I will always remind others of my boundaries or distance myself from them. Just because your friends are friends doesn’t mean they will always understand and just because you can/want to say or do something hurtful doesn’t mean that you should. Know where to darw the line.

When your 16-year-old son asks you to chaperone the music program trip to Disney, you do not say no. And that is how I find myself in this situation.
The itinerary, flights, hotel, etc. situation is of course out of my control – the travel agency the school uses (ETSI) has planned all that out. Important thing is we're going over Memorial Day weekend.
We'll be in Disneyland from approx. 10:30 a.m. (traffic from LAX depended) until midnight Friday, 8:00-midnight Saturday (with the option to park hop to California Adventure after 11:00) & CA first on Sunday, hopping to Disneyland at some point and not leaving until midnight again.
While the chaperones are technically allowed to go back to the hotel (Desert Palms) during the day, it's discouraged & the kids are absolutely prohibited from doing so.
The kids don't have to stay with their chaperone, we just have to make them check in 3-4 times a day, using a special app. My kid will probably want to stick close to me, but let's be real, they're all going to want to be as independent as possible. Which means I'll be mostly on my own from rope drop to park close for nearly three full days.
I haven't been to Disneyland since 1996, the summer I turned 14.
So. If you had the park to yourself for nearly three full days, and wouldn't have magic bands or genie+ because the travel agency did not get you those as part of the package, how would you arrange your days?
