The Man From Earth.
(TLDR Version): rock solid, well worth the watch, great acting and story telling. Had me begging for more. 9.5/10.
Review. I absolutely loved The Man From Earth. The comments that call it a “Masterpiece” are not far off. Given it is a low budget movie taking place in largely the same room, it just goes to show how far solid acting and superb story telling can go. The main character portrays John Oldman superbly. The convorsation seems authentic, though there are moments where you can tell it is a low budget film. The questions and explanations that are asked and given by the characters seem so convincing, you almost believe John Oldman may really exist.
The cast is predominantly middle aged men and a few women, and older adults. Making the setting mature and thoughtful as the adults are all scholars and professors from various fields attempting to comprehend the fact that John Oldman claims to be 14,000 years old.
A great example of the authentic feel of the film is this when one character asks John where he was during a specific date in the 1200s, he responds by asking if she remembers what exactly she was doing at any specific date decades prior. The obvious answer is she doesn’t remember and neither does he. No one would remember something like that offhand which is a very human response. The off and on reaction from the group as they accept or reject Johns story, I feel mimics how any other rational person may react if they were in the same situation. That is true art in my opinion. Crafting a wonderful sci story that captures people minds because it just seems so real, yet mystical at the same time.
The critique that I do have is largely that you can tell it is a low budget film. There are moments where the acting is forced. There is another scene when one of the characters pulls a gun on John, being rather upset that John would go to such lengths to claim immortality while so many in the world have died. It is soon revealed that the character who pulled the gun had lost is wife the day before. I didn’t care for the scene. Though it does portray the skepticism and possible anger that close friends might feel when their trusted, charismatic, and reliable friend suddenly sounds like a mad man and sticks to it. The ending is solid. Leaving room to expand, though wrapping things up enough to where it could’ve easily stood on its own.
At about an hour and a half long, I highly recommend The Man From Earth to anyone. 9.5/10.
The Man From Earth: Holocene.
(TLDR Version) Stands well as a sequel. Didn’t quite capture all the magic of the original. Targets a younger audience. Worth a watch if you saw the first one. 7.5/10.
Full Review. In my opinion if enjoyed the concept and the main actor in the original, you will still find those things done well in the second. While the first stood out phenomenally as an original standalone movie. The second, acts well as a sequel though you wouldn’t watch it on its own and find the same enjoyment. The 2nd movie takes place 10 years later where John Oldman now calls himself John Young and teaches at a different university under a new identity. John also comes to the realization that for the first time in 14,000 years, he has begun to age. Rather then the movie focusing on a room of adults asking tough intellectual questions, the movie follows four college students who are students of John.
The students discover Johns secret after reading a book published by someone who was with John in the previous movie and wrote a book about John’s life and story. The students start to connect the dots, and come to believe Johns fantastical story.
The acting isn’t quite as good and feels a little more like a teen drama. According to my research, the hope was that the sequel would turn in to a TV spin-off. Something which if they kept it to one, MAYBE 2 seasons I think it could do well with.
The last third of the sequel is where it gets a little forced, rushed, and weird. The characters start acting erratic, like the movie is trying to take you somewhere it’s not meant to. While I’m not as critical as some, I certainly see why this is an issue. I’m not saying they shouldn’t have made a sequal, though the last third of it makes me wish they hadn’t bothered.
Again, if you enjoyed the first then please enjoy the second. Just recognize it for what it is.

Hi, Years ago we moved to Connectwise Automate & Manage....... now automate was probably one of the worst mistakes we made, it was really badly implemented and not setup correctly and just gave us so much unhandled noise, it became a full time job just to stay on top of it, and hours at the weekends to save my sanity on a Monday morning......
Last year I migrated us over from Automate to NinjaOne (but we still kept CW Manage as PSA), and this was an amazing move, everything just works so well, everything is automated/named correctly and just ultra reliable, the integration provided by NinjaOne into Manage is rock solid & super customizable.
Now this led onto better things, my time wasnt wasted chasing my tail on the mess that automate just spat out (one time i went on holiday for a week and came back to 800+ tickets (mostly noise) but still it gave me a whole lot of anxiety even having a day off... Ninja now its so well configured mostly takes care of itself, amazing monitoring/correctly named/to right teams etc
This then gave me a lot of extra time that I have over the past year become an absolute powershell/scripting whizz, using API's etc to automate documentation and gather info/reports, add amazing data into custom fields that the team wants, so my time is being better spent (than dealing with noise and crap) and I fear this is where we are heading again (while not as bad as automate) I can already see the mess that Halo is going to cause and extra time to deal with stuff. (ive made my points very clear to our CEO) but as the rest of the staff are all happy with Halo, Im the minority here
Now im not comparing PSA's here as they do a whole lot more, but specifically I am the one that deals with the RMM/PSA integration ticketing/alerts/monitoring etc
So our MSP decided to trial HALO, and everyone (except me) is happy, I voted that its a huge NO,
Things that are causing me issues

• No activities from ninja to halo (gravityzone alerts/patching etc) - so basically the NinjaOne/Gravityzone Integration cannot send any alerts for failed installs/virus's to Halo
• Inconsistent alert resets (50/50 chance of a ninja reset actually closing the halo ticket) - examples Service stopped, ninja triggers the alert, the service back on, Ninja resets the alert..... we get left with some tickets in Halo that dont reset..... (so i now need to cross check everything!) back to my weekend or time off anxiety!
• Unable to add a asset/device name to a ticket template... Supposedly $AFName should work but it doesn't (we use custom template names for tickets to keep things standardised)
• No stacking or bundling of duplicate events, so certain tickets that techs just sit on for days and days and weeks etc ill be having to manually merge each day.
• Adding a new device or org in ninja is immediately available in cw manage... With halo I need to do a full sync manually which then takes 3hours.... (Or wait the once daily sync)
• In ninja I have alerts that send me SMS for webhook failures... Now I've never had a single one for our Ninja to MS teams webhooks But each day I get 2-3 failed to send to halo failures....
• Halo is Slow! im not sure if its just that we are in trial, but halo compared to Manage is really slow to load tickets.
• No Desktop App (now usually im not a fan of desktop app's) - I actually prefer NinjaOne is Pure web app! But I do like CW Manage's Desktop app, and its tabbed layout, add to that how slow Halo is to load tickets.... Extra lost time here

Are any of these the kind of issues you are seeing with ninja/halo (especially if you came from CW Manage?)
Although I'm not a fan of CW manage... The ninja integration is amazing and works as expected 100% reliable
Halo / ninja to me is going to cause me major headaches, a LOT of wasted time, Weekend Anxiety AGAIN! and that I have made my points clear to our org... But fear a lot! of wasted time ahead for me!
again im not here comparing Manage/Halo as a PSA on the whole, my Gripes are mostly (i think) aimed around the what appears to me be a very flakey webhook integration? (is it possible that the webhook in the trial version is just not as reliable/prioritized?)
Halo for me and Ninja/rmm alerts its a huge step backwards imho.... (holding out hope that one day things get implemented or fixed) now I do understand the needs of the business are not just around my needs, but it is counter intuitive to me to take this step backwards right now.

I bought a new Samsung 870 EVO 2.5" form factor SSD. I bought this to be able to upgrade a laptop to run a node validator. Have had it for more than 1 year and in all other manners it operates perfectly fine (OS install and normal operations etc), BUT, this thing cannot reliably synchronize and validate a blockchain. It spits out a fatal error either during the initial download/sync (blockchain is currently about 650GB and takes around 2 days to DL), or if it manages to pull the initial sync down, it will then run the node validating software in a stable way for anywhere from a few days to a week, and then it will randomly give me the same fatal error.
The debug log pasted below shows the failure and hints at a hardware failure. This problem occurs regardless of which version of node validating software I'm running. It also happens regardless of which OS I run. I get the same problem when I run it on Linux or windows. I've also tried it with node software packages like Umbrel and Start9, and it's the same problem - the OS (windows, linux, umbrel, Start9) will install just fine, but the failure happens during the sync of the initial blockchain download, or at some point after the full blockchain has completed its initial DL/sync and while syncing and validating blocks during normal operations. Each time, I've taken out the SSD and run all disktools and done full formats of the drive to try to find any corrupt blocks - but it never has any issues.
I'm pretty sure this is isolated to a bad drive, but how can I tell?

First up is Titans
Mask of the Quiet One - Dreaded Visage: Being critically wounded creates an improved Overshield(50 hp in PvP/150 hp in PvE). Defeating combatants feeds into your Overshield and regenerates it. While Bastion is equipped, defeating enemies with Void damage refunds your Class ability(10% per kill).
Khepri's Horn - Solar Rampart: Grants two Melee Charges. Ignition kills grant additional Super energy(5% more), and kills with your Consecration refund full melee energy.
Helm of Saint-14 - Starless Night: You and your allies can shoot through your Ward of Dawn.
Cadmus Ridge Lancecap - Lancer's Vigil: While using a Stasis subclass and behind your rally barricade, rapid precision hits and combatant final blows with a Stasis weapon creates a Diamond Lance near you. Diamond Lance does significantly increased damage against majors and bosses(200% damage increase).
No Backup Plans - Force Multiplier: Shotguns deal increased damage(5% PvP/20% PvE) while this exotic is equipped. Kills with shotguns grant stacking damage resistance(10%/20% per kill in PvE), stacking up to 3 times for 15 seconds. While at max stacks, combatants will be less accurate when targeting you(similar to the Always on Time Sparrow). Finishers while you have Armor Charge grant ammo to your Shotgun(5% reserves per charge).
Actium War Rig Auto-Loading Sink: Steadily reloads a portion of your equipped Auto Rifle's or Machine Gun's magazine from reserves. Rapid combatant kills(3) refund Machine Gun ammunition(10% of magazine) and grant Auto Rifles increased damage(20%) for 10 seconds. Auto Rifles and Machine Guns stun Overload Champions.
Mk. 44 Stand Asides Seriously, Watch Out: Increases Sprint Speed. Sprinting regenerates health(equivalent to the speed of 70 Recovery). Sprinting while Amplified rapidly regenerates health(equivalent to Restoration 2x) and creates an aura of Arc static around you(around 10 meters). Enemies within this static are Blinded for 8 seconds.
Next is Hunters
Wormhusk Crown Burning Souls: Dodging grants Restoration 1x for 5 seconds. Kills against Scorched, Jolted or Blinded, Weakened, Slowed or Frozen, or Unraveled targets grant significantly increased Class Ability regeneration(200% PvP / 400% PvE) for 3 seconds.
Blight Ranger Voltaic Flow: Amplified grants damage resistance(10% PvP / 20% PvE). Speedbooster lingers for the remaining duration of Amplified. Additionally while Amplified, periodically restores a small amount of health and shields.
Sealed Ahamkara's Grasps Nightmare Fuel: Your Melee becomes a release of raw energy which inflicts a debuff according to your equipped subclass(Scorch/Blind/Weaken/Unravel/Slow) and overpenetrates targets. Gain a second melee charge. Kills with this melee ability refund melee energy. (Think of this like the Hunter's version of Flechette Storm)
Khepri's Sting Touch of Venom: Gain increased sprint speed and jump height while Invisible. Additionally while invisible, enemies become finishable for you at 50% health. Finisher final blows spawn a smoke bomb at your feet, which grants Invisibility to you and nearby allies.
Gwisin Vest Roving Assassin: Finisher Final blows decrease the cooldown of your Super(grants 10% Super energy per finisher). Spectral Blades Light Attack damage against Champions, Bosses, Mini-Bosses, and Tormentors increased drastically(500% increase), kills with Spectral Blades extends the duration of Spectral Blades, and entering Stealth does not consume additional Super Energy.
Raiju's Harness Mobius Conduit: Hold your Super button to activate a Super Amplified. While Amplified in this way you deal significantly increased Arc Damage(75% increase damage from all sources) and gain increased damage resistance(75%), for the duration instead of using your Arc Staff.
Bombardiers Parting Gift: Activating your Dodge ability grants a specific effect depending on your equipped subclass. Arc spawns a Web Mine(see the Arach-No modifier) which blinds enemies after it detonates. Solar spawns an improved Swarm Grenade(spawns ~30 seekers). Void spawns an improved Smoke Bomb(spreads Suppression cloud across 10 meters). Stasis spawns an improved Duskfield(think Renewal Grasps radius). Strand spawns 4 Threadlings, which unravel targets.
Last but certainly not least is Warlocks
Skull of Dire Ahamkara Actual Granduer: Void Grenade kills decrease the cooldown of your Super(2.5%-5% on kill). Nova Bomb kills grant Super energy(10% per kill up to 50%). Vortex Nova Bomb has increased duration(+7 seconds) and deals increased damage against Bosses(25%). Cataclysmic Nova Bomb spawns additional seekers on detonation, and deals increased damage to Champions, Mini-Bosses and Tormentors(40%).
Apotheosis Veil Insatiable: Casting your Super grants nearby allies 500% Melee and Grenade ability energy for 10 seconds. When nearby allies cast their Supers, you gain this benefit. Casting your super automatically generates 3 large Orbs of Light at your feet.
Getaway Artist Dynamic Duo: Convert your Arc Grenade into a Sentient Arc Soul and become Amplified. Your Arc Soul duration is tied to Amplified. Additionally, while Amplified the number of Arc Souls you can have active increases to 3. Additionally, your Arc Souls Blind combatants.
Nothing Manacles Scatter Charge: Gain an additional Scatter Grenade charge. Your Scatter Grenades deal significantly increased damage to Champions, Bosses, Mini-Bosses, and Tormentors(400%), and have more seekers.
Vesper of Radius Planetary Torrent: Your rift blinds enemies in a large radius surrounding it(14 meters PvE / 7 meters in PvP). While standing in your rift, successive arc damage Jolts targets. While your Super is full, Rifts you create last for 1 minute.
Sanguine Alchemy Blood Magic: Hold to drain some of your own health over time in order to overcharge your grenade, melee, rift or super(Drains 20% health per 1 seconds). The damage or duration of the ability increases depending on how much health of yours is drained(20% health drain = 25% more damage, up to 100% increased damage - or double damage). Kills with overcharged abilities restores you to full health.

Just because the older versions had some fundamental issues and still sell at affordable prices, it doesn't mean the whole line is still budget to this day.
I paid over $1000 on my full-power 4060 TUF and it runs everything so well with little to no physical issues on the laptop. Except the hinge protector pieces of plastic, this thing is built like a tank. The lid is like a freaking shield and the bottom plate has steel underneath it.
Sure, it still has some design issues, and has a lower hand in some areas compared to ROG laptops, but compared to its other competitors like Omen and Nitro, these seem way more reliable.
Stop calling them budget, stop giving ASUS a reason to justify their products' flaws because these are "budget" laptops.

Both of them have publicly struggled for years, and around 2020, were both homeless and started doing YouTube interviews with obscure content creators where they were paid next to nothing to share their traumas with their viewers and creators who use these traumas to form false narratives and clickbait video titles that either are completely false or that are buried in an 8 hour live stream containing a thirty second audio clip that was stolen and reposted from another exploitative content creator's interview. Not only is it taking money out of their pockets, but also monetizing off their trauma, stealing their content and viewers, and harming their credibility even further due to them being blatantly false or misleading the viewers into thinking their all day live stream talking about the aforementioned video and accompanied by a slideshow is the primary source. One thing I've learned is most people will believe or immediately dismiss most information without even trying to read it. If you choose to go down this rabbit hole you should definitely start with their Insta pages and check out the last couple months. Without people majorly censoring and heavily editing their content, you can tell that they are doing this intentionally to hide the fact they are exploiting trauma survivors for petty cash. If you're still not wary, start with their latest interviews they're both total shit shows. Recently with the (Di +ddy stuff and Ka;tt William ,s) interview going viral, the channel "real life street stars" has blown up. Even more so in the last couple weeks with all the K- Anon stuff attracting people to their channels. If you choose to go down the rabbit hole I just beg you to please research ANY claims from ANY content creator and find a source before sharing. A lot of the time they are spitting celebrity fan fiction juxtaposed with occasional pieces of truth and (Jagua /r Wri /ght) was pretty damn convincing until about a year ago.
A lot of people get sucked in with ( Jag !uar W !right's ) first two interviews because she clearly had them prepared for a long time and was reading from a script. Now she's just exploiting the algorithm and spamming clickbait interviews with the craziest titles possible, thus contributing to the same exploitation she claims to be fighting against. This is not to say all her claims are bullshit, both most are recycled 90s and early 2000's gossip that is new to Gen z mixed with any breaking celebrity news or gossip that is big in the media. To make her stories sound more legit she'll Forrest Gump her way into every story and leading people into believing she was a big time celebrity, but these interviews and her instragram scamming are what she's most known for. The last interview she claims to have taken a boat to Epstein Island where she rescued two young girls who were trafficked and then talks about the Dark Web, "Red Rooms," that are pretty well known to be internet myths because if they were real they'd be invite only and require blackmail to access so no one is gonna talk about it even if they do exist. It amazed how many videos popped up overnight repeating her claims as facts and spreading the virus of media manipulation. If you're still thinking, "Hey, you never know!" She also claims these snuf. f videos and videos of celebrity orgies sell for 500 million dollars, which would be enough to build a whole chain of your own red rooms or throw your own Hollywood sex parties and join the fun. I know some people will probably still be curious, but just watch her 2020 interview the rest are trash, also anything with (O r.lando B,rown) is recycled lies mixed with more lies, with a couple buzzwords he's probably required to say so they can add trending topics to their video tags and get a lascivious title.
Another recent example of blatant manipulation is all the shit with (D j A ^kademics) the past couple days. His court records have been public for months with a vivid description of him and two friends drugging and raping a girl that was obviously premeditated and not his first rodeo. He is also now being sued for defamation because he pretty much told his fans she was drunk and asking for it then regretted it later and went on to say he didn't even know she was at the house until the next morning and blamed it on his friends. Meanwhile the court documents clearly show a rap with an e kit being administered and them finding his spermicide which was the same type found in the r word kit. They also describe video evidence of his two friends doing the same thing while she was unconscious, but he screenshotted a section and posted it in his defense saying clearly she was down. There are also identical allegations to the ones made against (D-rake) stating he has a history of hitting up sixteen year olds and grooming them until they turn eighteen and repeated history of similar drug related s. crimes. It took one post on his twitter and his fans started harassing the poor girl for months. The same thing happened to the lady who was a victim of (N$icki Min _aj's) husband who was doxxed by her fans for not dropping the charges. The next day AK was acting like it was all gravy and if anything gained even more followers. This is a brilliant example of why (Dra! ke's) line about being too famous to be a predator is so stupid. Almost as stupid as blatantly defaming the woman who appears to have more the enough evidence to beat him in a civil suit. Which is almost as stupid as he pretended to be during the (e- bony kin g) livestream where he was obviously ignoring the thousands of comments mentioning anything related to sexual crimes, while talking shit on the guy who successfully blackmailed his handler even after possibly being blackmailed himself on the same stream. This stupidity can only be surpassed by the millions of fans who are still watching his content instead of the news and continue regurgitating the lies of someone so fucking stupid who is most likely a s offender. These are the same ones who automatically dismissed the rumors and instantly believed the dog in the kennel story, the same who believed his alibi, and the same people who are the reason most survivors don't come forward and choose not to accept inconvenient truths right in front of their eyes.
Interestingly enough the portal.njcourts.gov site containing A.k's full court documents were offline for hours last night and a certain sight has banned reposting it for fear of doxxing, another great way to quell any dissent amongst the the ranks. Server's crashing often happens when there is a huge influx of web traffic or a site has been a victim of a DDOS attack, which is just an artificial version of the former that uses bots instead of people. I could talk forever about how fucked things are, but this is simply the world we live in. I really want to drive home the point that in order for any movement to retain credibility, everyone needs to stop sharing any type of info unless they're from a verified, reputable source and define the difference between facts and your opinions as clearly as possible. A couple million hits on youtube, twitter memes and tiktoks, and gossip blogs with broad information being deciphered by mostly idiots don't count as credible. Most of these influencers and blogs have been bought and paid for years ago and usually are biased toward certain celebrities based on the perception of whoever's sharing or whoever pays them the most. For a while now rumors have been circulating of influencers doing shady shit in Dubai for the ultra wealthy. Lot's of ties were made to Dra .ke, but have very little supporting evidence. The blind items containing the rumors also made it so anyone could decode the clues, and as soon as these posts made it on to the Kendric kl amar the moderator crew began the "conspiracy," crackdown. It took one mention of q-anon and the majority of the community jumped ship out of fear of association because "Q-anon bad, they're all scizophrenic." Overnight theories that once had been consensus were completely dismissed after being deemed conspiratorial. A couple of days later, the were forced to place a blanket ban on anything them deem, "conspiracies," regardless of it's validity due to their inability to moderate the amount of incoming posts which are almost always spammed at least ten times a day for the next week. This is the exact thing that was done with q, anon and pizzagat, e stuff back in the day. They'd find the nuttiest people to use as an example so they could paint the whole movement in the same light, then dismissed all related information, and completely censored any discussion on most major platforms. I don't subscribe to either, but they were undeniably on to something. The problem was the disinformation campaigns and general stupidity. One was quashed almost overnight because a crazy guy shot into the front window of a pizza shop and it somehow hit their computer and obliterate their hard drive containing possible evidence. The lessons is truth in every lie and it's not hard to find if you know where to look, it's what you do with it that defines who you are as a person. Some people can't handle the truth because it conflict's with their world view and those who do usually suffer because of it. If everyone does their part though, no one would have to die a martyr in its pursuit.
I've noticed a recent pattern of influencers proliferating the spread of false information especially in relation to any sa allegations. This trend really took off when (Kat -t Will/iams's) interview went viral and helped to revitalize his career and reputation. Since then many copycats have come out of the woodworks, hoping to cash in on the trend. Some other common media suppression trends and manipulation tactics to watch out for are synthetic smear campaigns dedicated to destroying the credibility of anyone with alternative beliefs, and it's gotten exponentially worse throughout the years. A great example is all the shit (Y,e). had to deal with through the years, even prior to his antisemitic remarks and all the other famous people who spoke up about their industries and were silenced. (D av+e Chapp? elle) used to talk a lot about the tactics used to humiliate and destroy many influential black men who dared to challenge the system. Another case that's similar to Ak's is the (T/or y La^ne z and M ,egan T (hee Stallio, n) trial. If you look at the court records, it's obvious the shooting was part of a larger altercation. He still might have shot her, but she at the least totally lied her ass off about the actual story to avoid incriminating friends while ensuring they could hit him with a ten year sentence. Not long after (Me ..gan THE" E S !tallion) won three Grammy's and was voted woman of the year, then disappeared off the face of the earth until her manager sued her a couple weeks ago for having sex in front of him and threatening his job over it. There are countless other celebrities and influencers who are clearly wiling to say anything for money, and those who aren't usually have some blackmail on them. There is such an abundance of glaringly obvious disinformation campaigns in the media and most are accepted as gospel without question or are suppressed if they reveal too much, raise too many questions, or start to sway public opinion. Another very common example of this phenomena is the mass release of information that paints a positive image of the celebrity while containing the same buzzwords related to controversies they don't want popping up on anywhere near the top of Google. This keeps any relevant information limited to the most recent AI generated bullshit that plays the algorithm game the best. While doing my investigation, it was unbelievably difficult finding any relevant information from before 2020, and often had to use Duckduckgo to filter out any articles written after 2023. Even then every search engine required extremely specific search terms, which would often still provide me with the exact same results. It got so bad I considered switching to Yandex.
Recently all the things I've discussed have seemingly been kicked into overdrive, especially over the last few weeks. This leads me to believe that a lot more is going down behind the scenes than most realize. I believe the day will come soon when everyone who actively fought to dismiss peoples opinions out of ignorance will be forced to accept these truths whether they like it or not I was a victim myself last week when I shared a detailed, neutral commentary on a rap feud and was shadow banned from a popular subreddit and ignored by it's moderators. This same subreddit is currently deleting any and all information related to the subject I covered. This is why I wanted to raise awareness if this doesn't get suppressed as well. Karma requirements and shadow bans that can sometimes circumvent the use of Vpn's on all connect devices, lead me to believe Reddit as a whole may also be at least partially compromised.
Chances are the same people who promote biased garbage and obvious lies are the same ones who will scroll right past any post containing more then three sentences and the ones who spread any lie they are told without question and accept everything at face value. My personal favorites are the ones who don't read past the title and clog up the comments while obscuring valuable information because they want the spark note version. This is all by design. They are the sheep the government count on to help them consolidate their wealth and power. More and more people are waking every day though. I encourage anyone new to conspiracies to really keep all this in mind going forward, especially with the proliferation of AI powered disinformation bots that dominate your front pages and control the majority of content. If you want to fight against this and keep your freedom of speech, this is a call to arms. Tactic: Initial Access (TA0001):
Technique: Drive-by Compromise (T1189):

• Multiple WebRTC threads could have claimed a newly connected audio input leading to use-after-free. (CVE-2024-4764)
• A type check was missing when handling fonts in PDF.js, which would allow arbitrary JavaScript execution in the PDF.js context. (CVE-2024-4367)
• Web application manifests were stored by using an insecure MD5 hash which allowed for a hash collision to overwrite another application's manifest. This could have been exploited to run arbitrary code in another application's context. This issue only affects Firefox for Android. Other versions of Firefox are unaffected. (CVE-2024-4765)
• Different techniques existed to obscure the fullscreen notification in Firefox for Android. These could have lead to potential user confusion and spoofing attacks. This bug only affects Firefox for Android. Other versions of Firefox are unaffected. (CVE-2024-4766)
• If the browser.privatebrowsing.autostart preference is enabled, IndexedDB files were not properly deleted when the window was closed. This preference is disabled by default in Firefox and Thunderbird. (CVE-2024-4767)
• A bug in popup notifications' interaction with WebAuthn made it easier for an attacker to trick a user into granting permissions. (CVE-2024-4768)
• When importing resources using Web Workers, error messages would distinguish the difference between application/javascript responses and non-script responses. This could have been abused to learn information cross-origin. (CVE-2024-4769)
• When saving a page to PDF, certain font styles could have led to a potential use-after-free crash. (CVE-2024-4770)
• A memory allocation check was missing which would lead to a use-after-free if the allocation failed. This could have triggered a crash or potentially be leveraged to achieve code execution. (CVE-2024-4771)
• Memory safety bugs present in Firefox 125, Firefox ESR 115.10, and Thunderbird 115.10. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. (CVE-2024-4777)

Additional lower severity vulnerabilities include:

• An HTTP digest authentication nonce value was generated using rand() which could lead to predictable values. (CVE-2024-4772)
• When a network error occurred during page load, the prior content could have remained in view with a blank URL bar. This could have been used to obfuscate a spoofed web site. (CVE-2024-4773)
• The ShmemCharMapHashEntry() code was susceptible to potentially undefined behavior by bypassing the move semantics for one of its data members. (CVE-2024-4774)
• An iterator stop condition was missing when handling WASM code in the built-in profiler, potentially leading to invalid memory access and undefined behavior. Note: This issue only affects the application when the profiler is running. (CVE-2024-4775)
• A file dialog shown while in full-screen mode could have resulted in the window remaining disabled. (CVE-2024-4776)

RECOMMENDATIONS: We recommend the following actions be taken:

• Apply the stable channel update provided by Adobe to vulnerable systems immediately after appropriate testing. (M1051: Update Software)
  • Safeguard 7.1 : Establish and Maintain a Vulnerability Management Process: Establish and maintain a documented vulnerability management process for enterprise assets. Review and update documentation annually, or when significant enterprise changes occur that could impact this Safeguard.
  • Safeguard 7.2 : Establish and Maintain a Remediation Process: Establish and maintain a risk-based remediation strategy documented in a remediation process, with monthly, or more frequent, reviews.
  • Safeguard 7.6 : Perform Automated Vulnerability Scans of Externally-Exposed Enterprise Assets: Perform automated vulnerability scans of externally-exposed enterprise assets using a SCAP-compliant vulnerability scanning tool. Perform scans on a monthly, or more frequent, basis.
  • Safeguard 7.7 : Remediate Detected Vulnerabilities: Remediate detected vulnerabilities in software through processes and tooling on a monthly, or more frequent, basis, based on the remediation process.
  • Safeguard 16.13 Conduct Application Penetration Testing: Conduct application penetration testing. For critical applications, authenticated penetration testing is better suited to finding business logic vulnerabilities than code scanning and automated security testing. Penetration testing relies on the skill of the tester to manually manipulate an application as an authenticated and unauthenticated user.
  • Safeguard 18.1 : Establish and Maintain a Penetration Testing Program: Establish and maintain a penetration testing program appropriate to the size, complexity, and maturity of the enterprise. Penetration testing program characteristics include scope, such as network, web application, Application Programming Interface (API), hosted services, and physical premise controls; frequency; limitations, such as acceptable hours, and excluded attack types; point of contact information; remediation, such as how findings will be routed internally; and retrospective requirements.
  • Safeguard 18.2 : Perform Periodic External Penetration Tests: Perform periodic external penetration tests based on program requirements, no less than annually. External penetration testing must include enterprise and environmental reconnaissance to detect exploitable information. Penetration testing requires specialized skills and experience and must be conducted through a qualified party. The testing may be clear box or opaque box.
  • Safeguard 18.3 : Remediate Penetration Test Findings: Remediate penetration test findings based on the enterprise’s policy for remediation scope and prioritization.
• Apply the Principle of Least Privilege to all systems and services. Run all software as a non-privileged user (one without administrative privileges) to diminish the effects of a successful attack. (M1026: Privileged Account Management)
  • Safeguard 4.7: Manage Default Accounts on Enterprise Assets and Software: Manage default accounts on enterprise assets and software, such as root, administrator, and other pre-configured vendor accounts. Example implementations can include: disabling default accounts or making them unusable.
  • Safeguard 5.4: Restrict Administrator Privileges to Dedicated Administrator Accounts: Restrict administrator privileges to dedicated administrator accounts on enterprise assets. Conduct general computing activities, such as internet browsing, email, and productivity suite use, from the user’s primary, non-privileged account.
• Restrict use of certain websites, block downloads/attachments, block Javascript, restrict browser extensions, etc. (M1021: Restrict Web-Based Content)
  • Safeguard 2.3: Address Unauthorized Software: Ensure that unauthorized software is either removed from use on enterprise assets or receives a documented exception. Review monthly, or more frequently.
  • Safeguard 2.7: Allowlist Authorized Scripts: Use technical controls, such as digital signatures and version control, to ensure that only authorized scripts, such as specific .ps1, .py, etc., files, are allowed to execute. Block unauthorized scripts from executing. Reassess bi-annually, or more frequently.
  • Safeguard 9.3: Maintain and Enforce Network-Based URL Filters: Enforce and update network-based URL filters to limit an enterprise asset from connecting to potentially malicious or unapproved websites. Example implementations include category-based filtering, reputation-based filtering, or through the use of block lists. Enforce filters for all enterprise assets.
