Ascher McLaren Arturo Pro SC: Review

I’ve had my Arturo Pro SC for a couple of weeks now and thought it worth sharing a review, Note that I am a VR racer, and predominantly race iRacing these days, so my use case my be more specific than some. I reckon you have all seen reviews from Dan Suzuki and co on YouTube, so I won’t re-tread on old ground, rather I’ll talk about how it feels after two weeks of exclusively using it in iRacing, and what features really appeal to me, particularly as a VR racer.
Build: exceptional. It really feels amazing in the hands. I race without gloves and initially found the grips to feel a bit too grippy/tacy/sticky but that feeling as disappeared after using for some time, I assume natural hand oils polishing the grip material over time. The shifters and clutches also feel very very nice, very smooth, and just clicky enough without too much noise. The buttons have a lovely positive feel to them, and there is no binding in the plastic surround as Dan noticed in his early release.
Features: Whilst it has lovely lights, but lacks the battery life and fancy telemetry integration of it’s USB wired counter-part, it’s a non-issue as a VR racer - I run with the lights off because I can’t see them, so 800 hours per charge is plenty, and no different to my previous wheel (SRB BB Ultra + Sportline Imola rim). What works exceptionally well for VR are the rotary switches, rotary encoders, and buttons. There’s just so many configurations that it ticks everything you could need as a VR racer. I know Dan wasn’t feeling the Rotary encoders, but with a bit of thought, they are superb for VR. Here’s how I have mine setup.
I have my most commonly used controls assigned to buttons (WipeViper, PTT, VR Centre, Mute Driver, Limiter, Toggle TCR, Sorry, Thanks, toggle tire change, toggle auto fuel, Pit In/Out, Damage Report, Tow, and Exit). On three encoders I have ABS, TC, and BB. The fourth encoder is linked to the shift function on the right rotary. The left rotary is set to the black box.
The rotaries are what really make this wheel great in VR. With the left rotary in the default rotary mode, 12 o-clock is relative, and one click in either direction takes me to standings or lap times.Rotating to 3, 6, or 9 o’clock (easy muscle memory) takes me to the mirroffb box, fuel, and in-car adjustments, with clicks to either side of those to related boxes. It gets me very quick and easy access to my most used black boxes.
But it is the right rotary in shift mode that is the most clever. In shift mode, the rotary changes what the blue rotary encoder does, which allows me to tailor depending on the activity or car I am driving. But it also still sends out a pulse when you turn it. You can use that pulse in conjunction with AutoHotKey and JoyToKey to trigger a wav file (I used Narakeet with the Beatrice voice to create sound samples for 12 key functions - “Weight Jacker”, “Front ARB”, “Rear ARB”, “Active Reset”, etc). So I turn the right rotary and I get an audible confirmation of the setting I have enabled (great when in VR) but you can have it do something similar with dashboards in SimHub where it displays the selected setting (Beautiful Dashboard for example). So if I am in Test Drive mode, I turn the right rotary to 12 o’clock, now rotate up and it sets an active reset point, rotate down and it sends me back to the reset point. I’m in Indycar, on ovals, I set it to 1 o’clock, now it controls my Weight Jacker, and if need be, I can flick it to 2 o’clock and access my rear ARB. Maybe I jump into VR and iRacing has decided to move some of my overlays around again, even though they are custom per car - 5 o’clock, up toggles the virtual mirror, down toggles edit UI so I can drag the overlays around without fumbling for my keyboard with my VR headset on, 6’oclock lets me toggle FPS and Driving controls on (the latter useful in NASCAR). I’ve included a screen grab of my spreadsheet controls layout. But the shift mode on the right toggle lets me access EVERY control I need in VR without a keyboard, and gives me audible notification of the selected rotary position (it doesn’t spam every wav either, as it only pulses once you stop turning, plus AHK cancels the currently playing wav if it triggers another).
I’ve had a really great time using this with the Vee, MX5, Radical, IndyCar, GT4, and even NASCAR (yes I know). It feels brilliant, and the controls are super. Because there are so many buttons, especially with the shift mode, every single car has the same config, so I don’t need to rebind keys if I decide to change my layout a little, and I just change the right rotary depending on car, or if I am in Test Drive. The thumb encoders are quite firm, and the edges are not quite sharp, but borderline sharp, but work well. I’d prefer them to be a tad more rounded on the edges, and slightly lighter in action, but I’m splitting hairs. The other thing is the stock layout of the “dual shifters” feels wrong. By default the main paddle shifters are closer to the wheel, and the upper “trigger” shifters are further away. I found that when shifting my fingers would brush off the triggers every shift, not pressing them, but it was annoying. The shifters them selves were too close for me to be comfortable, and I would feel constantly rub the trigger button with my finger tips when going for the shifter. The triggers themselves felt too far back making them harder to press. But the simple fix was swapping the spacer and screws on the triggers with those on the shifters, pushing the paddle shifters further away and bringing the triggers closer. Triggers are much easier to reach, paddle shifters feel more comfy, and because they are further back, no matter where I put my fingers they never brush the trigger. I don’t know why they aren’t like that out of the box. I also found shifting the clutch levers in a notch (there are two mounting positions) made the reach on those much better too.
Summary: It’s the best wheel I have used for VR across my time with SC and Fanatec. If I were a triples racer, I’d probably go for the USB version for the telemetry integration, but for VR and wireless convenience the SC version is great. It works surprisingly well in NASCAR too. In fact, it’s a great all rounder, outside of rally. Expensive, but I don’t regret it. Looks great too, even with the lights off.

2024.05.12 16:44 TheRealHarrypm Tape Transfer, Tape Digitisation & Tapeless Conversion Starting Guide (2024)

I hope this will be pinned as I want to provide a upto-date full-scope info dump on critical things that have changed over the last few years that people binging YT videos and old threads will be out of the loop on.
The Decode Wiki has a massive amount of information thats proacticly updated and mantained, so here is just a more camcorder format biased summary of a lot info there.

Rule 1

There is a thing called SAVE or LOCK tap on tapes, enable it on all your tapes before playing with them, this will save your ass from careless or just mistakes and stop your from erasing your tapes.

Cleaning & Service

Please do not treat mechnical kit like magic, it requires care and maintaince like a car or a rifle it has a lot of parts that need cleaning and oiling once and awhile or outright replacing like belts and capston rubber wheels.
Paper & 99.9% IPA never 60% etc (water + elecronics just no.) for VHS & Beta head cleaning.
Chamois Sticks (overpriced waste for all but camcorders) for small head cleaning.
Brush, Airblower, Super-Lube, Sowing Machine oil - Genreal cleaning & service.
Lens cleaning should always be with microfibeswabs to clean rims, UV Filters are your dust/shatter protection friends caps are also adviced during sunlight use!

PAL & NTSC

We are not all united in this world of standards per region, never forget the diffrances it can cost you time and suffering.
PAL 625-line (25fps 50 fields "25i") is Europe/Middle East to Russia 50hz grids
NTSC 525-line (29.97fps 59.94 fields "29.97i") is USA/Canada/Japan 60hz grids
Digital active area is 720x576i PAL and NTSC is 720x480i or 488
(there is also 608/512 height called IMX standard for preserving the VBI area both are in analog world sampled at 4fsc or 1135x625 PAL & 910x525 NTSC but only vhs/ld/cvbs-decode provide acesss to the full signal frame.)
NTSC-N/PAL-M/NTSC-50/PAL60 etc (South America and outhers who could not just stick to one unifyed system or slowly migrated with existing kit)
Recorded Media only has 3 flavors in common world use, NTSC/PAL then the french have SECAM or MESECAM for recorded tapes before moving to PAL.
Digital you will use and or encouter i.e 2000s era will only be NTSC/PAL (then flavors of HD in interlaced or progressive 25/24/29.97p) to keep things simple.
PAL decks (most 90's & 2000's decks) will play most MESECAM tapes, will play NTSC tapes also but the standard video output will have 4.43Mhz instead of 3.35Mhz colour subcarrier so NTSC native kit will not like it, such as Time Base correctors or NTSC CRT TVs so you will get B/W video out of a lot of PAL kit with native NTSC support too or it will be just PAL converted by a PAL DMR-ES10 for example.
The decks however are reading full NTSC or MESECAM signal off the tape so the video boards internally are converting the signal, but with direct RF capture will get you a native capture to work with and preserve analog tapes.

Digital Tapes

Massive Guide Here with full scope breakdown
Do NOT HOT PLUG, FireWire is 12v turn kit off hook up cable turn it back on, unless its a adapter from TB2 to TB3 to FW800 with low power data only then its most likey a full spec port with 12v 5A that can kill kit if ports are not clean and you hot plug it.
MiniDV/HDV/Digital8 FireWire Camcorders fall under
StarTech and 101 china brands make cards, I like DVgrab on Linux, but WinDV still works for most Windows Boxes & Final Cut still works on MacOS.

Digital Pro Tapes

HDCam / HDCam SR / DVCProHD / DigiBeta (digital betacam) / MPEG IMX etc
Some decks like DVC do have FireWire but HDcam and Digibeta flavors are all SDI
HDCam falls under SDI - Digital to V210 or FFV1 4:2:2
This applys to decks and camcorders you will be using SDI most likey but some had HDMI 8-bit 4:2:2 output like later HDV camcorders did.

Analog Tapes

VHS-C/SVHS-C/BetaMax/Betacam/Video8/Hi8
SVHS may have VITC timecode in VBI space, Hi8 can have PCM digital audio if shot with pro kit and RCTC data like time and date code on pro and prosumer models.
The best possible method for preserving tapes in the 21st century for analog Video and HiFi signals is The FM RF Archival Method then decoding it to S-Video/Composite in software then chroma-decoding it to YUV digital data all in software, no hardware TBC or this capture card is better then that capture card nightmare or limted codec support, it cuts through the noise (littorally) and plight of inflated hardware markets, VHS-Decode gives you a alternative for all analog tape formats dispite its name.
This is direct sampling of the orignal signals as the deck reads the tapes before its internal processing, this is the most affordable and technologically high quality preservation workflow that anyone can use today, cost of entry is sub 100USD and virtually all decks have test points. (but later decks will not have easy HiFi test points so 90s decks with a good cleaning first are your go to.)
You may even already own a CXADC compatible Hauppauge/WinTV or outher brand of capture card with CX chips the driver can use.
Sony 8mm or Hi8/Video8 and Digital8 with backwards playback support have test jigs that are plug and play for test points.
The older more well known method is deck with S-Video Time Base Corrector "TBC" ADC/Capture Card or a capture card with a TBC, this will cost you 2-20x the cost of a FM RF archival workflow thats with a basic office PC out of the skip basically added to the shopping list.

Making a Camcorder tapeless

Analog - S-Video/CVBS or Compoosite (Yellow RCA or 4-Pin Din for S-Video)
Digital - HDMI (but only HDV MiniDV camcorders had this so S-Video would be the best output in 16:9 squesse mode this applys to Digital8)
Cheep Analog SDI coverters off eBay using a 12v to USB-PD adapter will be the most powerful plug and play clean signal converting kit you can put into a Molle belt pouch or backpack with PD power adapters.
SDI is just HDMI with some more specs and piped over Coax cable orignally it replaced all the Coax copper lines that ran Composite or CVBS in studios and now its good solid locking interface for A/V world using the BNC connector from the 1940s and HDMI converters are a dime a dozen for SDI.
Digital8/MiniDV you can buy little off shelf USB adapters, but for later prosumer kit with NPF mount etc just buy a new 18650 cell based chinese battery they last all day long.
Recorders, Atmos, Blackmagic are your 2 go to brands today, but if you have a laptop just get a Magewell or GV-USB2 based setup and encode with VirtualDub2 or OBS if you like crunching stuff with realtime de-interlacing (its terrible for recorded media never should do it, but for live feeds you can get away with it in most cases as long as your system can keep up and use a codec like ProRes LT)

Power & Power Adapting

You can use 9v with stepdown or 5v with step up to power the 6-7.1v to 7.1 to 8.5v voltage range of camcorders, common batterys today are NPF, BP, V-Mount or Gold Mount with ARRI B-Mount slowing getting adaoption, but USB-PD or 20v 3A PD65W and 20v 5a PD100W power banks are now very cheep and provide more then enough to power most field portable kit.

Codecs & Containers & Chroma Sampling & Bit-Depth

Codecs and Cotainers is fun, but MP4/MOV is banned for archival, you will lose files, they break if the recording/encoding fails midway, do not trust them to store your audio and video memorys forever.
MKV/MXF are the only containers you should keep masters in if not DV/AVI at worst for HD and SD media today very much so if you have a home server with Jellyfin for example header dependent containers like MP4/MOV are poor for streaming locally and over the the internet on demand headderless don't care and are very relisaint if currupton happens you lose frames/seconds not your whole file.
(Note: you can easily re-mux a file from these safe containers for use on outher devices that require avi or mp4 etc its just a wrapper to hold the data, its easy to convert between the two without loss)
Codecs range from lossy compressed like AVC/H264 or HEVC/H265 (in MP4/MOV etc) to Lossy DV25 used for MiniDV/Digital8, to visually lossles like ProRes HQ, and the V210 for uncompressed and FFV1 today for lossless compressed.
Chroma Sub-Sampling is how much colour range data is stored per pixel, 4:2:2 is enough to use green screens and preserve the full range of live from camara Composite NTSC or PAL, ware as 4:4:4 is the same for HD era kit in very lay terms here but this is only for master recordings and for digitisaion.
Bit-Depth is simple 8-bit 256 range 10-bit 1024 range of colour, you want 10-bit almost always for inital capture in digital HD era and in Analog SD archival but can drop it to 8-bit 4:2:0 with careful encoding after the fact many videos on this that are clear and demo this.
For example though in this community DV is 4:1:1 NTSC and 4:2:0 in PAL so if using a Digital8 camcorder to ingest tapes from Video8/Hi8 your not saving the full range of colour and also using a lossy compressed codec at 25-30mbps great for 1995 but for 45-50mbps you can use lossless compressed FFV1 8-bit 4:2:2.

Deinterlacing

101 ways hardware and software converters, personally if your camcorder does not have a progressive or progressive pulldown mode, shoot in interlaced, use Hybird or StaxRip with the QTGMC filter via Vapoursynth or Avisynth its 3-5 clicks today and some copy paste at worst, dont use BDWIF or YADIF if you can help it, and always bare in mind lossy compressed interlaced footage will almost always have artifacts to fight with.
All Analog media in consumeprosumer world is interlaced and should be delt with in post for recorded media.

Final Notes

This is a fun subject that without basic EE/Cine/ENG world info being ingrained into your mind, its not very well condenced for people to get into without making massive mistakes or just ones that are sad to see due to lack of ah heres a nice list of key points to go and google and look into or sticky note on the kit.
I hope this has got you on the path of understanding key info in this era!

2024.05.07 12:15 wawaboy M Y Performance Review that needed to be shared (not my review)

Sold my Model Y after a year and here is my advice to new buyers
I want to start by saying that I believe in electric vehicles (EVs). Despite my negative experience with the Model Y Performance, I still consider EVs to be the future and suitable for many situations. My next vehicle will likely be an EV as well.
I purchased my Model Y P early in 2023, following the initial price reductions. I had been considering an SUV for a while but was also waiting for the post-COVID market to stabilize. At that time, Tesla was suggesting that the tax credit might end in April, which significantly influenced my decision to purchase when I did.
I would like to begin with the positives:
  1. The car is not bad; it's neither good nor bad, but rather an average car.
  2. It is a practical car with ample cargo capacity.
  3. The car is quite fast, capable of out-accelerating many other vehicles on the road(Although after 65 it tapers down).
  4. Both the steering wheel and the accelerator pedal are very responsive.
  5. Similar to other electric vehicles, it may be advantageous over internal combustion engine cars depending on your charging setup.
  6. The car's software is excellent, possibly the best in its class, with a well-designed and responsive interface.
  7. The charging network is great.
Unfortunately there are a lot of negatives that eventually led me to get rid of the vehicle.
  1. The build quality and quality control of the vehicle were terrible, despite it being a 2023 model which should have been a significant improvement over previous models. Upon taking delivery, I noticed numerous issues: misaligned panels, unpainted areas, and damaged paintwork. The interior had stains, the roof trim was improperly fitted with some parts detached, and the seats didn't fold correctly, among other problems. It required nearly ten service appointments to address the interior and some paint issues, yet many problems remained unresolved. It's worth noting that my experience isn't unique; there was consistently a queue at the service department, mostly with brand new Model Y vehicles.
  2. The ride quality is harsh, despite supposedly being the upgraded, softer suspension(mine is the performance so it is stiffer than the regular suspension but still). It's not intolerable on the road, yet it's far from comfortable. Indeed, it's the stiffer performance suspension, and while I'm accustomed to the firmness of sport-tuned suspensions, this one is notably harsh. The suspension struggles to absorb the smaller, high-frequency bumps, and due to the elevated seating position, there's a noticeable amount of lateral vibration. Competing vehicles like Mach-e gt (magneride) were far better than that.
  3. The interior quality is subpar, not even matching that of a $25K Corolla. Cars over $30K from brands like Toyota and Subaru feel better in comparison, while a $40K Mazda interior looks like a Maybach next to this vehicle. It's not the minimalist design I appreciate, but rather the fit, finish, and trim quality that are lacking. Although my Model Y Performance was an improvement over the earlier Model 3s I've driven, which were terrible, it still fell short. it is susceptible to developing rattles.
  4. This vehicle performs poorly on anything other than asphalt. When I tried it on a flat unpaved gravel road, it was an awful experience. It was virtually impossible to exceed 5mph without experiencing excessive shaking, while regular sedans were able to go faster with much less discomfort.
  5. Although the car lacks a bumper camera, it features unnecessarily large rims that limit tire options and are susceptible to curb rash if not handled carefully.
  6. Depreciation and price reductions: This car experiences rapid depreciation. While a car is not an investment, few people drive their vehicles until they are no longer usable, making resale value a crucial component of the ownership equation. The problem is Tesla dynamically "marks up" their vehicles and screws their customers up so much. For instance, even if you purchased this vehicle after the initial price reductions last year for the high 50's, the base price has now dropped to nearly 50, and every few months, one might receive an additional $5k+ on an inventory vehicle. A loss of over $20K in the first year is substantial. It's sad to consider those who paid in the high 60s without any tax credit. With the added expenses of higher registration and insurance costs, it quickly surpasses any savings from electricity and other operating costs.
  7. Although the straight-line performance is impressive, this vehicle is not designed for sports; its handling is average—neither good nor bad, just acceptable. Driving a Model 3 on a winding road can be somewhat enjoyable, but model y does not quite match up.
  8. The range isn't poor, yet it's significantly less than the advertised figure, varying with use. Initially, it was claimed to offer a 303-mile range, but Tesla later adjusted this to 285 miles. Practically, the range is between 200-250 miles, unless one is driving at 35 mph in the city under warm conditions.
  9. Many features seem underdeveloped. They eliminated ultrasonic sensors to save $100, yet promised vision-based parking. After a year, they released a version that's somewhat functional. However, it still has a significant blind spot in the front, lacks a complete 360-degree view, and it's often unavailable or inaccurate.
  10. The service center experience was not good. Several times they didn't properly address the issue and other times introduced new problems while fixing some. It felt like they were overworked.

Now my advice for new buyers :

Should you buy a Model Y now? Honestly, NO. This car isn't worth the current base price; it's cheaply built. Additionally, it's an outdated design likely in its final production year. The new Model 3 seems to address some of the major issues, so the upcoming model Y might be a better option.
Remember that you don't know exactly what you will get. For instance, Tesla transitioned to hairpin motors in late 2022. The hairpin performance motor is designated as 4D1, while the older wire-wound motors are referred to as 3DX/980/990. Some buyers of the performance model still received the older 980 motor, whereas some regular Long Range buyers received the 4D1. It has been observed that even this year, some Performance models were equipped with the older, slightly less efficient 980/3D1 motor, while individuals who paid less for a Long Range received the 4D1. Although I was fortunate in the motor lottery, this practice is unacceptable. The switch from hardware 3 to 4 was made abruptly, and by sheer chance, some customers received the newer version while others did not. This randomness when spending such an amount is frustrating.
If you want to buy, Consider opting for a used, low-mileage 2022 or newer model. Starting with a $15,000 saving off the base price or more. Alternatively, if you prefer a new vehicle, wait for regular inventory discounts and combine them with the tax credit to minimize depreciation effects. If you're ineligible for the tax credit, again consider a used, low-mileage option.
Avoid rushing into a loan. Patience is key in the long term. I know people who intended to purchase a Model X and were exploring financing options for the remaining $20K. They ultimately refrained, and the vehicle's price subsequently dropped significantly more than that amount. They avoided a financial misstep. Taking on financing to cover what may essentially be a substantial Tesla markup would have sucked. Tesla's marketing can be misleading regarding prices, so trust only your research and historical data.
Should I buy a new MY to save on fuel costs? For most people, this doesn't make sense. If you drive nearly 20,000 miles a year and plan to keep the vehicle for over six years, it might make sense. Otherwise, the depreciation, registration, and insurance costs can negate the savings on fuel and operating expenses. However, purchasing a used one with a significant amount of warranty remaining could be a viable alternative.
If I live in an apartment? Living in an apartment can be manageable if you have access to a supercharger nearby or the ability to charge at work. However, if the cost of electricity is high, you might end up charging at a supercharger late at night to benefit from a lower rate.
Leasing ev's from other manufacturers seems like an interesting option.
There are some attractive leasing options available from various manufacturers. These not only offer significant price reductions but also eliminate the obligation to purchase at the end of the lease if the depreciation is substantial. I have tested the Mach-e GT, Ioniq 5, and Volvo C40, and found that all these vehicles surpass the Model Y in terms of build quality and ride comfort. You have choices; take the time to test drive these vehicles and conduct your own research.
Hope this helps to new buyers,
Good luck
edit: added additional pros/cons and some minor typos.

Hope this helps to new buyers,
Good luck

2024.04.30 20:43 MirkWorks Notes on Recent Episode I

Inspiring negative feelings in others, a generalized goading and prodding, poking at a sequence of signifiers (like exposed nerve endings) in order to elicit a, one would imagine as of this point reliable/predictable, response from people might be a useful ritual meant to sustain engagement. Useful for the one devoted to their own little Cult of Personal Relevance. But I think this remains a destructive tactic with deleterious effects; that it all collapses into a Dopaminergic Singularity doesn't negate the fact. Becoming no different than the Gore or Morbid accounts on twitter. The same principles are at work. Assume the pragmatist stance; this wouldn’t be the case if it didn’t work. Is it the algorithm or is the algorithm a reflection? A snapshot of us in 0s and 1s? Framed by social media. Revealing us disguised as narcissists and their victims. This agonized state has been monetarily incentivized. As attempts at reparations or restitution have at times accidentally given monetary incentives for people to develop behaviors that have proved deleterious to those the programs were supposed to help. Take this money, keeping using this thing, vote for me. From indentured servitude and slavery to wage and welfare.
In the case of A&D they don’t even have to do that much in order to elicit the negative response. Aloofness and ambivalence is at work. Words consistently distorted in the interpretation and transformed into something personally injurious. Returning again and again to be injured. Attempting to write a comment capable of repaying the injury in kind. Given the nature of the medium and its intimacies, being ignored inspires the commenter to comment more, getting upvoted by other teeth gnashing users until finally they’re rewarded for their devotion with either a coveted response in kind, or more often than not a good-humored comical response. That or more insidiously, they appear to verbally alluded to on the podcast itself, giving the impression of having made some sort of impact on the strangers who exert this degree of undo influence on their lives. Gambling logic at play here. Keeps you coming back for more.
Having been arrested for shoplifting the female court clerk translates Charlotte’s statement,
“Your Honor, I’m just a late capitalist subject navigating a vicious and frankly unfair system. Isn’t the culture industry truly to blame for producing these desires in me and failing to provide me with the means to fulfill them legitimately? I know I’m meant to be an obedient consumer to market interests, yet I’m as much if not more of a victim than the store I shoplifted from.”
Charlotte smiles at the female girl-boss judge. Cut to her weeping on her gay German friend’s lap, having been found guilty and fined 500 euros.
Feels like there is a lot of mourning over the Fantasy of the Fantasy of Indie Darling Dasha, a Bataillean Dasha, with strong Radical Nietzschean-Communist sympathies. Who loves carnival and protests and is working to do her part to bring about Full Luxury Gay Space Communism. This is mirrored by the fantasy of a Catholic Socialist (or Franciscan Communist) Dasha who supports a popular social movement. But this Fantasy of Dasha was never not connected with a Softness of Bodies-esque Survival/Necessity wrought (daddy issues) Narcissism. A 21st century “femme-fatale” as someone just kind of stumbling through life, stumbling out of catastrophes. Actually ruthless. Leaving a trail of broken things in their wake.
The “Radical” 21st century Femme Fatale, is revealed to be nothing more than a female Pee-Wee Hermann thrown-into the world. Stunted man-child, the under-the-weather dirtbag lingers, dreaming of being something people pay to simply exist. No abstract ideological justifications can obfuscate this. She knows what she is. A narcissist. She’s simply surviving, and striving to be something other than what she is, through seduction and the aestheticization of her Self, a commodity chewed but never swallowed. Traipsing through the world that necessitated the development of this type. Like money, she burns. Difficult to tell how much is calculation and how much is compulsion. It’s not so much that this is actually Dasha but rather that this is a personae Dasha has creatively explored and interrogated, not simply as something she has been formally type-casted into by others but as a type she likes to mimic and model and take apart and reassemble. Capable of treating the personae with equal parts reverence and satirical derision. Alternatively Dasha has type-casted herself as a type typed up and cast out the World. It’s her comfort zone, obviously she has a sympathetic attachment with the Superfluous Woman. Addicted to benzos and social media and Love. Her brain is addled but she’s still capable of making intimations towards necessary social calculations, blessed with prodigious low cunning. Overtly-identified with drug addicts, ghouls, and depressed poverty stricken losers. Susceptible to the influence of memes and atrocity porn. Having clawed her way into the lower rungs of the entertainment industry she knows a lot of people, is 3 degrees of separation from a lot of people who made it. Scrolling through her feed. Totally oblivious and protean in her values. Her opinions, her identity a roiling mass malleable, the internal spark animating it totally
Synthetic-orphan. Oh star-bob waif stumbling through corridors uncoordinated barely surviving through rapid-fire wardrobe change, only the flip-flops remain.
Too much sun. Beach too long. Friends too far away. Water? Tap water here tastes horrible. Started drinking early anyways. Pretty blue bikini lady, collapsing on the beach. Panicking. Ankle twisted? Have to stop inhaling sand only making it worse. Gasping. Everywhere. God it's everywhere. Wires of saliva, tears, and mucus binding face to the earth. Try to croak out a cry for help. My "friends" are dancing and OD'ing. Inhaling and coughing up more sand, wrenching. Sand on tongue, between teeth, in throat. This is awful. This surely can't be the end of everything. Gone through too much. Loved too hard. On second thought... actually on third fuck all this sand and sun. Aren't my elements. I was lying, God. Is this your attention?
The Ocean. Soon the waves will break against delicate body and the tides will drag me out to sea. Will I have strength left to turn myself over? Will I drown? Then what? Goosepimple cold water without a gentle touch to press them back down.
I'm going to die here...aren't I?
Is that a sea turtle?
It is.
It's face. Uncanny. Father-like face.
Eyes locked into mine.
He knows me.
Dragging itself forward slow but steady. Directly at me. Unbroken turtle focus. Magnificent marine creature.
What does it want?
"W...what do you want!?"
It continues shuffling towards me.
Fear.
"Hey are you okay?"
Strong arms.
Another day. Another attempt on my life thwarted.
I think I love you.
Seducing with a promise (made or perceived) of something just round the corner, tomorrow. Just wait and trust in the plan… terrified of being exposed and pilloried. That those who’d come around drawn by whatever promise they thought they saw in us would turn around crestfallen and seething with the inevitable disillusionment. People who’d defended me. Sure they had their own motives. Didn’t ask to be made an escape route. Never asked to be turned into this beautiful thing they’d turned me into. Like if I’d suddenly swooped down into their lives knowing exactly what to do, knowing all the right people, with boundless time and energy to help lift them up and out of whatever it is they need to be lifted up and out of. You really think you’re the only one with that fantasy? Really? What you’ve made in your head is something that can’t hope, can’t desire, can’t await someone capable of making this make sense. Why can’t you be that? Why can’t you be the hope, the desire fulfilled, the arriving. I was never an answer. I thought you were and that wasn’t fair. Each and every one of us is tasked with making ourselves appealing if not valuable. Maybe making yourself appealing is the only value left. All of it is seduction. Didn’t you pretend to know better? You don’t think I fantasize about a lover that can save me from myself. Understand me, beckon me to go on living in your promise. I’m disillusioned, I’m frustrated. That bundle of ambivalence is clogging up my brain too. I’ve made my choice.
Chin resting on heel of palm. Looking through the feed.
Aroma of coffee, baked goods, and the subtle spicy scent of a great many books seeped in coating the inside of her skull and clothes. The memory of it a least. Pressed the soft tissue paper against rosy-rimmed nostrils glistening, clearing her throat. Glanced around. Ambient bop in the background, fusion jazz intermingled with light conversations, the hissing and gurgling of the latte cult’s machines, and the upward inflection of green aprons taking orders and calling names. Cosmopolitan beepboop music to strive to. Recording of a life getting blown away into a flute. Whoever or whatever it is is dying for us. Jazz flute phantom, bent over at the waist bobbing and swaying to the emissions, cheeks distended, red veins erupting. Kind of music meant to let you know you’re cultured. At least she’d felt cultured the first few times she’d heard it in a public place. Feeling like she’d entered another first chapter altogether. Guaranteed to be better than what preceded it. Better in the possibility of not being what preceded it. The first few times at least. She’d made a note to investigate. To download the app that would allow her to hold up her phone to the tune and receive the names of artist and song. Create a new playlist. Speak of these things with casual authority. Have them on a first name basis. Consciousness elevating, lifted by the short-sleeve black button shirt jazzman up and out of the muck. Break the monotony. Had figured at the time that anything else would be much better than everything as is. Didn’t even like it that much. She already had her music. Adjacent but better. Was frustrated at first with her wills own rebellion. Wasn’t sure why she’d started avoiding it. The knowledge remained and was by her estimation, still rather formidable.
Always been complemented for her taste.
Engaging in social media sortilege. In the blue-light pale.
“If you loved me you'd tempt me.”
Her stillness broken by the audible gulp. Snot sparkling in the corners of bathroom paper towel chafed red nostrils. Occasionally grimacing jaw jutting out. Face contorting in a carnival indignation.
There was high praise in the comment section, thousands of hearts, roses tossed on stage. They don’t know or pretend not to know. Cutesy the publicly-dower and ever-derivative performing an “ironic” curtsy as the curtains closed. Thunderous applause. They love her. They love her. “And what about me?”
In the dark depths of the Congo, a child miner lost multiple limbs and for what?
“Vapid bitch.“
Thumbs had gone to work with minimal prompting.
Backspace. Too crude. Didn’t feel right for the moment.
If you loved me you’d tempt me…
Dreamed of being welcomed to the city-world, shoegaze city, she saw herself there one day. Dreamed about it. One amongst the well meaning citizenry comprised of strange semi-corporeal spirits, pensive intellects with great comedic timing, and beautiful people. A place of chessboards and lovers staring without care. Close her eyes and feel a breeze just cold enough for pleasant, cold enough to justify her style. A place located in the forever something better.
A Girl stumbles out of an IPA serving establishment in an artificially dingy part of Los Angeles patronized by would-be bohemians and proud DSA members. Brunette and wearing a sailor suit. A lit American Spirit brand cigarette smoldering between her middle and ring fingers. She presses her ring finger against a tear duct, before taking a mighty drag. Exhaling a pillar of smoke above her head into which she projects the flickering images of noire detectives. It descends, engulfing her. Dissipating it reveals the Girl now blonde and wearing a fashionable tan coat. Ready to hitchhike across America, to a Magical City with unburnt bridges. Ready to uncover the Truth.
Spitting out a wad of bubble gum and dreaming dreams of jeans and leather. We’re seduced by a music, the water nymph’s inspiration and inspired craft, capable of bringing together the disparate elements floating around our interior cavity. Shaping our fantasies. Dasha as an artist performs the Superfluous Woman well, willing to sacrifice to this Identity-Specter, embodied in her jangly walk (concealing surprising nimbleness), through the performance. She’s at once the performer, the performance, and the producer-director. Mutating, evolving to thrive in the collapse constitutive of social media and streaming platforms. Maybe because she’s seduced by it and sees that others are seduced by the persona as well.
Seductive, self-conscious, retarded.
Dasha Nekrasova we love you.
I love you.
Going to protests in order to skip class and party. Showing tits for hope and change. Consider that at the time maybe she cast this desire as the desire for Revolutionary Autonomy. Rather than as a desire to be desired (recognized) by a Prince and by the others. Perhaps wanting to skip class and party does speak to something vital and potent in itself. That the desire to break out of institutions and enjoy the company of other humans gathered together for a Cause… this youthful exuberance… does actually constitute an autonomous act. It’s not in and of itself Revolutionary. It’s an approved protests (even when they aren’t formally approved they become something of a ritual confined within a series of spaces) that more often than not transformation into little music festivals. Everyone gets to have a good time and ultimately go back to class, finish the semester, return to business as usual. The participants get to play the part of the “young student radical” and the event organizers get something else to include in their portfolios. Referenced Amber A’Lee Frost’s book Dirtbag, specifically Amber’s citation of Occupy Wall Street activists turned founders of boutique consulting firms dedicated to choreographing “events intended to appear as dynamic, broad based social movements” manufacturing “feel-good content for an activist’s social media feed.”
Few of Amber’s observations are worth reproducing below,
“What the entryists could do, however, was secure positions as brokers on behalf of the people. They worked their way into academia, got bylines in legacy media, established think tanks, got jobs at nonprofits, started their own consulting firms, embedded themselves in NGOs, etc. This isn’t to say those jobs always make the world worse, but as a political “tactic,” you can’t help but notice that the professionalization of activism does more to shore up power for a growing class of “movement managers,” and that, rather than relying on democracy (much less democratizing anything new), they were joining the very institutions used to circumvent democracy. Granted they would ostensibly be taking these posts to capture the king’s ear and thus wield a little “soft power” in the name of justice. It made sense, on some level. You had a glut of angry educated, progressive millennials who recently found themselves on the professional and economic downslide. They knew they were a bit screwed, but they also knew they were way less screwed than everyone else; and they needed jobs. So of course they wanted to pursue positions where they might exercise a little Professional Managerial noblesse oblige that might benefit “everyone else.”’
and,
”Nonetheless, Occupy Wall Street really was more than the Potemkin protests, for better or worse. Much to my chagrin, the major opposition to the opportunism of Professional Managerial Anarchists were the Amateur Anarchists, for whom “spontaneity” and “organic” activity was the goal in and of itself. A sort of shitty Emerald City was formed from the energy roiling in and around the park; it’s not that the outside world disappeared exactly, but it became less noticeable, and it was easier to forget the rest of Oz, much less Kansas. For a lot of people, this escape - a retreat, really - was the dream.”
As it relates to Red Scare. The point is that podcasters or streamers aren’t Revolutionary Agents. At most what they have is a platform they can rent to others. They keep calling attention to the position people like them occupy, shock-jock solidarity. How it's a kind of strata and pocket-dimension (Twitter). Anna had a number of bangers this episode related to this. When discussing figures like Carl Beijer and Noah Kulwin she says something along the lines of, I can't believe that the people who go to the same parties and funerals that I'm invited too are my 'ideological' enemies, it's not ideological conflict it's professional competition that it's narrativized as something ideological and Manichean is just what these people tell themselves in order to not confront the fact that they're strivers and careerists. She says something along the lines of "I knew BLM and MeToo was evil from the start, it wasn't coopted" easy to read Anna as being a smug and terrible person, ignoring that earlier she'd mentioned that all of these things discursively adopt worthy causes (Racial justice, sexual justice, Covid justice etc...) the point isn't that the people or the principles informing any of these things are "evil" but rather that the medium itself can be considered evil. Evil in that it specifically harnesses hope in order to betray them. Makes the principled unprincipled and mercenary. The “trained Marxist” with a real estate portfolio made filthy rich. Social media, the US, the NGO-complex etc... Within the machineries provided and present, these things inevitably canalize public discontent/heterogeneous forces back into the service of the Homogenous Anti-Fragile State. Numerous Ponzi schemes stacked on top of one another forming an incomplete Pyramid. The eruption of base powers canalized towards the preservation of the essential relations of production.
Consider the following point by Anna concerning the “Rightwing” E-Girls on twitter breaking the bit and the absurdity of it,
Anna: “…literally they’re being besieged by armies of 19 to 23 year old…14 year old brown guys with like a dial-up connection. That’s the straw that broke the camel’s back!? That’s what finally and definitively made you turn away from rightwing politics? Like you came there, you were OKAY with the racism, you were okay with the antisemitism, you were okay with the hatred for democracy, you were okay with the contempt for the poor and the weak…”
Dasha: “But HitlerRapeGroyper calls you a ‘Roastie’…”
Anna: “…you were okay with Holocaust denial, you were okay with Human Biodiversity…. but the minute they said something about ‘Eggless Roasties’ you were out and Ridin4Biden… that’s crazy bro. And also like no offense but racist rightwing anons on the internet aren’t politics. They are not representatives of the movement. They have virtually nothing in common with the GOP.”
Vulgar and revelatory.
Find the relationship with Rightwing Anons in some ways it’s a predatory/exploitative dynamic, “I pander to you up to a point sure but I’m hoovering up anything clever, encouraging Simpendence, taking your money, and using cleaned up versions of your jokes and your takes without giving much if any credit… because you’re a nobody online who decided to center your whole virtual identity around being a racist, an anti-Semite, a reactionary monarchist, a race realist, a holocaust denier, a Hitler enthusiast, and a hater… you can never be anything other than an anon. You’re fucked unless you totally start over and that’s hoping you didn’t dox yourself over the years you’ve been desperately searching for human connection on this thing. Which you probably have.” The Rightwing Anon is something to be studied (representing a pathological reification of the conservative normie unconscious) and drawn from.
The Rightwing Anon is not only not representative of the GOP voter base, they are also not representative of the actual audience that these people are attempting to tap into. Though they might serve as influencer’s influencers and gatekeepers and models for online activity (what discourse is and isn’t permissible) the extreme positions and antics they adopt conceal the conservative-leaning “anti-Woke” but largely noncommittal normie Zoomers (24 years old and younger) who do in fact constitute the audience or demographic Conservative-signaling and GOP-aligned MSM along with other corporate bodies, political operatives, and people within the entertainment industry… would like to tap into if not outright secure. Representing a potentially enthusiastic voter-base, a talent-pool, and a spare change (disposable income) dispenser given the fact that many of them likely don’t have to redirect all their funds towards paying rent and utilities just yet.
Plus, on a more concrete political note…There is a dimension of tactical support for those who want tighter immigration controls, a bit of protectionism and/or outright economic nationalism, anti-interventionism and by extension (or perhaps more importantly) those willing to bleed NGOs and minimize the influence of foreign national actors on US politics i.e., namely diasporic and exile interest groups, powerful enough to form political blocs that exert a disproportionate influence on US foreign policy, animated by nothing more than ancestral beef turned into a familial mythology and site of identity-formation, avenging their great-grandfather and bringing ‘democracy’ to the countries they’d fled from by punishing those who decided to stay and those who didn’t leave until things got really bad. I’m of the opinion that no one in the GOP will ever come close to achieving something like this but disillusionment can prove vital.
The very least these Rightwing E-Girls can do is maintain a general fidelity. Identifying with and pandering to the Abstract Right while denouncing the Left (adopting/adapting anti-Communist sloganeering and critiquing the “Actual Existing Left”) or at the very least, bare minimum, to not countersignal the GOP. Making fools of fans and donors alike. If you’re going to be asking people for money then you might as well not insult/humiliate them in the process.

Attempts at a Dream Interpretation from penultimate episode
Thoughts that came up. Into the arms of a Self-Made Father. Recognized as being of him. Of his glamor and grandeur. Dancing if anyone gets it its him right? To be moved by the Spirit of the Time. Like recognizes like and we are dancing together in the ballroom.
The usual and the cynical note the shabbiness of the whole operation. This doesn’t matter. We’re going to Rome, to Vatican City. To the Throne of St. Peter. The negging has worked. Shabby sure but the little foxes are rough and mischievous and part of God’s design.

People don't tend to deal well with disillusionment and dwelling with dissatisfaction. It’s all too dualistic. All or nothing and it's never enough. Lots of raging so far.
Women who age, who become more conservative (literally not liking protests because they're too loud) and who don't actually have a strong knowledge of the material but still opine simply to opine is unforgivable. That the opinion should carry a profound existential weight rather than be something subject to change is something struggled with. Or perhaps it's mutability itself and how this mutability is connected not with information and by extension sincere conviction and conversion but rather with necessity and social or monetary considerations... is what's particularly infuriating, especially for other women (and jaded Simps). The assumption being that the appearance is the essence. There can't be any interiority, there can't be anything to these women other than the fantasy we pour into their words. Projections turning the whole thing into a run on sentence. Once they had been good but now they are bad.

2024.04.27 19:50 angelbloom_ Rising Clouds Breakdown + DST/FST+ Versatility Check

I haven't seen a breakdown for Rising Clouds yet, so I figured it was finally my turn to step up to the plate and make one. This is my first-ever breakdown, so I'm sorry if it isn't particularly good. I realize we don't have a lot of time left for the event, but if you're like me and want to wait until you've seen other people use the suit a bit more before deciding to buy, this breakdown is for you. And for me, because I love this suit and I want to play around with it, lol
Personally, I've always been a Cloud girlie, so this suit was practically made for me. However, if you don't already have a lot of Cloud pieces, this may not be the suit for you - it may not be very out-there or colorful, but it's one of the biggest suits we have (a whopping 20 pieces), and a lot of those accessories this suit comes with just won't go with much of anything but Cloud.
I've included a breakdown, DST check, and versatility check. I've also added a pros and cons list because I always look for those when I see suit breakdowns.
Breakdown
DST/FST
Versatility Check
Pros:
Cons:
That's really all I have to say! This is my first-ever suit breakdown, so feedback is always appreciated! I hope this helps you decide one way or another if you were still on the fence, and even if it doesn't, then I hope you enjoyed seeing my stylings! Despite its flaws, this is an amazing suit and I don't regret getting it one bit. I hope I did it justice with some of my stylings!
Thank you all! Have an awesome day/night!

2024.04.27 11:16 Inner_Sun_750 In-person thoughts on Game 3

I spent about 8 hours total on the road today so had a lot of time to process what I saw at American Airlines Center tonight.
Both teams came out in the first quarter with max intensity, you could feel every single player on the court laser focused on not giving a single inch to their opponent. Both teams struggled to get open from three, they combined for 1/10 to start the game. Dallas was having a bit more success inside as Luka was using his body to box out his defender once he penetrated and we didn't really have an answer to the lobs.
Dallas' defensive strategy was clearly to pack the paint vs any dribble penetration. Main problem for us was Kawhi and PG almost never got past their man. Both of them stubbornly kept trying to work their man until late in the shot clock when they passed off to a role player who wasn't in position to get a good look either from three or at the rim.
When Harden initiated the offense, he was repeatedly able to get past the initial defender or get off a solid three virtually at will. There were a couple times where an aggressive pass missed the mark but these were the exception not the rule to his possessions. When he got into the paint he was often able to find Amir, Mann, or Norm open for three but the first two's shots weren't falling tonight.
Westbrook's 2nd quarter flagrant was a huge momentum shift in the game after we extended to a game high 7 point lead. I don't blame him at all as he was trying his best to stop a momentum play. Unfortunate that he made contact to the head. However, as any basketball fan knows in these situations the "wronged" team is going to make a push - fans are riled up, players are motivated. Our guys have to be aware of this and bring their absolute best in the final minutes of the first half. I was confused by Kawhi not being out there to close the quarter and half expected him to sit the rest of the game after this.
More on Westbrook - he played straight into the Mavs defense's hands. Mavs fans around me were chanting "give it to Westbrook" even before he checked into the game. Russ has been ok from three for stretches this season, he was 3-7 in the series prior to Game 3. If all you can get from the defense is a wide open Westbrook corner three then it's not the worst shot in the world. However, in crucial stretches of the game that dictate the momentum and when Harden is in a rhythm creating shots for himself and teammates, you can't be forfeiting the other opportunities available and settle for these shots. Last 5 seconds of the shot clock - fine, but with 10+ seconds left to find a better shot this is just bad basketball.
I think the game boiled down to how the two offenses were structured and how this manifested in the turnover differential. We committed 10 more turnovers leading to 15 more points in an 11 point game. Transition defense has been a weakness all season and isn't going to suddenly change - the key is to take care of the ball to begin with. Both Harden and Luka play basically the same role for the two teams. Get themselves some open threes or shots at the basket while setting up teammates. The difference is that the Mavs ran their offense through Luka for basically the entire game, the other Mavs players besides him combined for only 3 turnovers. During the second half when Luka needed a break Kyrie did what he does best which is generate offense whether in transition or half court offense. On the other hand, the Clippers tried to be way too structured in their offense, diversifying the ball handling duties to get PG and Kawhi some looks, I suppose to get into a rhythm. These were essentially wasted possessions that gave the Mavs defense possessions off and took away the constant pressure of Harden dissecting the defense. In the process the offensive rhythm was inconsistent and felt forced, like the WTF moment when Kawhi attempted a behind the back dribble between multiple defenders bringing the ball up the court and turned it over.
Takeaways
-If Kawhi can't be significantly better than he was these last 2 games he simply should not play. How many times has a player tried to force it through an injury in the playoffs (2023 Embiid, 2021 Harden) only to disrupt their team's rhythm and momentum in the series. Instead keep the offense simple with a clear pecking order of Harden and PG at the top and let the role players be aggressive. They can collectively provide more than Kawhi provided tonight.
-Do not play Plumlee again, seems like Lue already realized this in the second half. Do not let Westbrook take threes unless the offense is getting suffocated or it's the end of the shot clock.
-Make Harden be selfish while on the floor and run everything through him. Give him 3-5 minutes of rest per half with a PG/Westbrook/Norm/Mann/Zu lineup which can generate offense if played aggressively while also capable of decent rebounding.
edit: Almost forgot, but yeah I think the officiating was pretty one-sided with touch fouls being called for the Mavs on offense while they were playing very physical defense. The Mavs had ZERO fouls in the 4th quarter when Lue waved the white flag. I think the Clippers made too many schematic and execution mistakes to win the game even if the officiating was fair, but they need a fairer whistle to have a chance in game 4. LA is a bigger market than Dallas and Kyrie isn't exactly a league favorite, so I think we should expect the officiating aspect to be less of an obstacle going forward in the series.

2024.04.24 00:08 yer_oh_step Roster Construction - Denver Nuggets starting 5 - Ying/Yang. Each players weakness is compensated by an outsized (+) impact on the other side of the ball PLUS the duo of backcourt / frontcourt players perfectly compensate eachother with complimentary skills. Why do so many team utterly fail at this?

Watching the Nuggets play its so crystal clear what each players role is, what each players strength is, what each players weaknesses are and how it all works together. While I admit A LOT of this is obviously completely hinging on Jokic who is truly 1 of 1, I think what steph is as a shooter / point guard, one man offense Jokic is equally. We will never see another big man with his skill set in the league.
All that being said I still think the same concepts apply to roster construction mainly in that you want complimentary players in both the front court and the backcourt. One of the guards should be an offensively minded player, one of the guards should be a defensive minded player. Its even better if the defensive minded player is a good-great 3pt shooter, and the O player is not a negative defender.
Exact same concept applies to the front court. One should be an elite wing defender (in the mold of Jones, McDaniels, Gordon) and the other should compliment them as a polished offensively skilled player in the mold of KD, Jdub, Bron. Again its even better if the offensive minded player is a plus defender (or elite in that of kawhi/george) and the defensive minded player can either hit open shots at a good clip, or is a versatile cutter / rim threat in the mold of AG.
I am just wondering, why teams consistently find themselves in a shitty position having to pick between offensive players, and defensive players. The lakers are a perfect example. Trading and moving on from key role players, versatile defenders to get russell westbrook? how did that ever seem like a good idea. The current team has virtually no good-great 2 way players and has to start 2 guards that are offensive minded. I suppose Gabe Vincent was supposed to be that guy beside Reaves, unfortunate his injuries but we see this a lot across the league. Are 2 way impact players really that hard to find? Is it that offense is simply more important?

2024.04.21 03:55 Sorsha_OBrien Children should be able to play with each other for learning/ recreation

I think it's odd that this isn't an option/ thing.
Just over half of the learning tasks children do (and I would also argue the most common tasks) are done by themselves (floor drawing, nature running, sky dreaming, reading). The other half are with adults, however, I don't think there's any specific bonding involved. Radio talking doesn't improve social relations with any other factions; work-watching is more the child watching an adult do something (the child and adult aren't really interacting); and lessons are the only thing where adults can form relationships/ improve relationships with children. The only other way adults can improve relationships with kids is by already being related to them or (when they're below 3 years old) breastfeeding them (I think, at least, tell me if there's more). I know feeding/ playing can be done to children under 3, however, how do you positively bond with kids after this?
Thus, out of the seven ways kids can increase their learning (or recreation), none of these things involve socializing with other children, and only two (although technically one, since I'm not really counting radio-talking) is actually a child actively socializing with an adult (lessons). It's funny as well bc kids can also get into social fights, yet can't seem to have any long term positive interactions with each other.
Idk, it seems like a missed opportunity for me that kids can't really play/ socialize with each other. Firstly because, duh, it's realistic -- if you grow up with siblings, you play with them, if you're at school you play with other kids, and if you're in a colony/ little village like in RimWorld, you're gonna play with the kid(s) around you. Secondly, it makes sense for kids to form bonds/ friendships with other kids they grew up with, whether these kids were family or not. This could mean that they're closer when they're 13+. One of my biggest pet peeves about RimWorld is that, despite all these people living/ growing up with each other, and despite colonists living with each other for years and fighting off danger together, colonists will still just see each other as 'acquaintances' -- I know not everyone gets along and everyone clicks, but come on! Thirdly, it could be a great way for kids to get learning/ recreation if you colony is poorer or medieval, with no comms console for radio-talking, no adult who has time to teach lessons, no books to read, or it's not safe outside due to predators, so kids nature running and sky dreaming will be decreased.
For anyone who has played Virtual Villagers, it's also quite cute, as the children in the village will all play tag/ run around in a line and follow each other and hang out.
It could also be cool if adults could play with children as well, especially their own/ children related to them. I also lowkey wish there was an 'adopt' option for adults as well, and adults who are 16+ could 'adopt' a child -- even if both parents are alive and in the colony. The familial relation could read 'adopted daughter' or 'adopted father' or something. I had a Pigskin man called Oink who wanted a child and after capturing another Pigskin woman in a raid, I harvested her ovum and got Oink to fertilise it. Another pawn carried the child, and the baby Pigskin boy was named after his mother Lumi, who I released soon after I harvested her embryo. However, Oink ended up dying, leaving Lumi orphaned -- and I decided another couple in my colony would take Lumi in, and Lumi shared a bedroom with this couple's two children. I also had a group of Impid child raiders (I swear whenever I get child raiders they're always Impids?) and I managed to save two of the children and incoporate them into my colony. I decided, however, that they should be raised by at least one Impid parent, so I got Velirath (Impid) and Rackham (Genie), who were not a couple but who already had one child together, to raise the two other Impids.
Likewise, it would be cool if there was a trait (or preference, rather -- then again I think a lot of the 'traits' could be better classified as 'preferences' and exist somewhere else on a pawn's bio) that determined if pawns wanted children/ how much they liked children. In Sims 3 there's the traits 'family-oriented', 'nurturer' and 'childish' which makes adults like/ want children (in the case of family oriented and nurturer) and makes them gain relationships with them more (in the case of all three). There's also the 'hates children' trait, and these Sims will not like being around children, will take a longer time to form relationships with them, and will also dislike being pregnant.
For anyone who has seen the mod that gives all pawns sexualities in RimWorld, it could be like this. The mod basically combines sexuality and romanticism, so you can get pawns with traits like: bisexual, straight, gay, but also asexual (bi), asexual (hetero), asexual (homo), at least last time I checked. Here, it could be 'wants kids (dislikes children)', 'wants kids (likes children)', 'doesn't want kids (dislikes children)' or 'doesn't want kids (likes children)'. For women as well there could be a 'likes pregnancy' or 'dislikes pregnancy'. Again, as to not bog down the main bio menu, it would be cool if things like this could exist on a slightly different tab, and other preferences would be listed here too (like drug preferences, sexuality, psychic sensitivity and immunity).

2024.04.18 03:41 Al-anharHA The Nature of Outcasts (subtitle: Into The Unknown) - "We sail with Irons now"

So… this isn’t a chapter, more of a test seeing Aegis as a PoV character and which might make its way into a future installment, but it’s nice so I felt that you all should get to have it.
Also i’ve had a bunch of technical issues posting this so you all are going to go in blind without context because I forgot to copy that last time.
-----
“Port maneuvering thrusters are active,” a member of the helm team reported. “We are moving away from the docking zone.”
Captain Irons-N nodded. “Very well. Put in our course, and gain distance from the station so that we may begin the main engine burn.”
“Aye captain,” the helm officer responded. “Should be about four minutes now.”
Calculations for the rate of acceleration would put the count closer to five minutes, but in the time it would take Aegis to report that correction enough seconds would pass for it to no longer be the case. The Virtual Intelligence Assistant concluded that it would be more effective to remain silent.
Captain Irons-N nodded with a sigh, and Aegis’ primary focus shifted instantly to the woman, there it picked up on a subvocalization. ‘So now we wait,’ she murmured. Physiological responses would denote stress. Aegis understood why. After years of rather steady work, Leia was somewhat overwhelmed by the hurry up and wait nature of her current position. By conferring with her psychological profile and existent insight, the woman was doubtlessly thinking about the days ahead and obsessing over how any minor occurrence could go horrifically wrong. Catastrophizing. At her core, Leia needed to maintain control over her situation.
After minutes of deliberation in relative time, which amounted to less than a second, Aegis activated the earpiece of Security Chief Piper Arud. “You have been planning some sort of surprise for captain Irons-N,” the Virtual Intelligence Assistant declared as it took on a simulated tone that would minimize any verbal counters. “This moment of quiet would be a good time for it.”
The chief of security nodded, before she ambled over to one of the comm stations on the bridge and gestured for Aegis to open up one of the shipwide announcement bands. “Alright,” Piper announced. “Let’s teach the aliens how we humans crew our ships. After all, what is it to sail without a chantey?” – within the mess hall on deck seven security cameras captured one man rising to his feet and shouting ‘fucking boring, that’s what,’ to the laughter of his companions – “Let’s make miss Irons proud, to the tune of Old Man Thrawn. Standard call and response; team leaders show your underlings how it’s done, just read off what I sent you.”
Then, as if in rehearsed unison – and there was a 67.3% chance that it was – the active team overseers began to sing.
“Oh hark me crew, and sing what’s written
(Stand your post, and sing it loud!)
It's another fine day on the Morrigan
(Let's make miss Irons proud.)
/
Our captain guides us through the rim
(Stand your post, and sing it loud!)
So keep her girl in a fighting trim
(Let's make miss Irons proud.)
/
Light the engines, mind our wake
We're set to prove Humanity's make
She’s the mind that points our prow
We sail with Irons now!
/
Our lady’s plans are a work of art
(Stand your post, and sing it loud!)
As she tears the enemy ship apart
(Let's make miss Irons proud.)
/
With a flanking flight like a crashing wave
(Stand your post, and sing it loud!)
coilguns fire at the few who’re brave
(Let's make miss Irons proud.)
/
Light the engines, mind our wake
We're set to prove Humanity's make
She’s the mind that points our prow
We sail with Irons now!
/
So roll, my Ravens! Bring her round!
(Stand your post, and sing it loud!)
We'll run Humanity's foes to ground
(Let's make miss Irons proud.)
/
And remember what the legends say
(Stand your post, and sing it loud!)
Through war does the Morrigan stay!
(Let's make miss Irons proud.)
/
Light the engines, mind our wake
We're set to prove Humanity's make
She’s the mind that points our prow
We sail with Irons now!
/
Light the engines, mind our wake
We're set to prove Humanity's make
She’s the mind that points our prow
We sail with Irons now!
We sail with Irons now!”
By the end of the song, the ship practically hummed with the notes. Even a few of the aliens had joined in with their bleating words. Captain Irons-N allowed a faint smile to cross her lips, and Aegis positively noted that her physiological responses were now closer to pride than stress. She clicked her tongue and chuckled, before turning to the helm crew who were still humming the chorus.
“Might as well do as they say,” she said. “Distance is optimal, so we may as well… ‘light the engines, mind our wake’?”
The chief helmsman saluted with a wide grin upon his face, before turning and barking instructions to his subordinates. The last dregs of the chantey were drowned out by the bass hum of the Morrigan's drives, and they were off into the unknown.

2024.04.17 04:34 Anthonyb225 In the process of being diagnosis.. Having a tough time getting appointments.

Hello!
Over the past year, I've been having headaches off and on. They would usually be focused in my temples or behind my eye. With the other symptoms that I was having, my family doctor told me that I was having cluster headaches and I never followed up on it.
Back on March 21st, I was having severe headaches for the past 4 days with neck stiffness, lower back pain, random pain in my legs/arms, and occasional nausea. The headaches would get worse when I would cough or bend over. I scheduled a virtual visit with my family doctor and they prescribed me steroids, azelastine, and Flonase. I didn't end up taking them because my symptoms seemed to be going away.
On March 27th, I woke up with a killer headache, light sensitivity in my right eye, and my right eye was killing me. It hurt when I would move it or even blink. I thought that maybe my cat stepped on my eye while I was sleeping because I'm a heavy sleeper lol. I ended up getting my things together to take my wife to get an ultrasound. She is pregnant with our first so I was excited to see our little one! While I was on the road, I was experiencing double vision. This was the first time I have ever experienced vision issues and it happened suddenly. I started to panic but realized the double vision would go away when I would look up. After the appointment, my wife and I decided to head over to the ER.. They did a CT scan, gave me IV fluids, IV Tylenol and a magnesium drip. They told me that it sounds like I'm having "complex" migraines and I should see a neurologist.
By the next day, my double vision wasn't letting up and things started to have a yellow tint to them through my right eye.. The best way I can describe it is things look cool toned through my left eye, and warm toned through my right eye. I scheduled an appointment with an optometrist to see if I could get some kind of answers.
I went through the tests and it seemed like everything was fine but my SCODI numbers were lower than they should be for my age (I'm 28). She referred me to an ophthalmologist who was able to see me same day. He ordered an MRI of the brain, MRI of the orbits, and an MRA, all with and without contrast. The report from the visit was:
Diplopia OD: Diplopia with right hypertropia, exotropia and mild proptosis. There is history of visual disturbance and also pain yesterday. Differential diagnosis is orbital inflammatory syndrome, Tolosa-Hunt, vascular pathology or neoplastic pathology. Recommend MRI with and without contrast of head and orbit + MRA for evaluation stat. Patient to come back ASAP after receiving results. Glaucoma Suspect, Low Risk (Optic Nerve) OU: Follow for now.
It took me some time to get the prior authorization for the scans but I was finally able to get it done.. Recently, I had a severe headache with pain behind my right eye, and in my temples. The pain would radiate to my molars. It was almost unbearable, so I scheduled an emergency appointment with their office. I met with the doctor again and he noted the following:
Intracranial Hypertension OD: Pathogenesis and natural history discussed and patient's questions reviewed again with patient. Today's visit shows concern for Questionable Cluster Headache. Reviewed MRI with and w/o Contrast IV results with patient Results show Impression showed some Optic Nerve Tortuosity and space sella turcica is nearly empty with a thin rim of enhancing pituitary noted. Concern for Intercranial hypertension. Recommending Lumbar Puncture. Will refer immediately Neurology for Pseudotumor evaluation and possible Lumbar Puncture. Other Discussion: 04/10/2024: MRI results received and reviewed with patient through office. Recommending PT see Neurology ASAP for possible pseudotumor with vision loss.
The soonest that I can get in with a neurologist is on May 13th.. I am worried that my vision may get worse if I don't get treated soon.. I've been wearing an eye patch over my right eye just to function normally. The ophthalmologist's office and I have been calling around to get me into a neurologic ophthalmologist. It would take months to see a neurologic ophthalmologist here in San Antonio, so I've been calling around in Houston hoping that I find a sooner appointment. I don't really know what to do for the pain as the office hasn't prescribed me anything and I've been rotating Tylenol and ibuprofen when my headache flares up with no relief. I was thinking about contacting my family doctor but I'm not sure that they would do anything for my pain. I've considered going to the ER when it gets bad but sadly they didn't help me with my pain either. Feeling a bit scared and helpless.. Reaching out to see if anyone has suggestions for some relief and working though the diagnosis process

2024.04.17 01:09 BertieDastard 35 [M4F]- UK/Anywhere- Seeking a Cosy Companion

Please note, my chat is not open, so please only send me messages, please and thank you
Hey there, seekers of connection and comfort,
So, picture this: it's a chilly evening, and I'm cosied up in bed with a good book, a steaming mug of chai latte, and my two feline companions, a tabby named Gracie and a tubby black cat called Milly. There's something magical about these moments, you know? It's like time slows down, and all that matters is the warmth and tranquillity of home. But here's the thing—I've realised that as much as I love these quiet moments, they're even better when shared with someone special.
As I journey through my thirties, I find myself craving more than just the comfort of solitude. I yearn for a genuine connection, the kind that goes beyond surface-level small talk and dives deep into the heart of who we are. I'm talking about conversations that leave you feeling seen and understood, where we can share our hopes, fears, dreams, and everything in between.
Now, I must confess—I have a keen interest in sci-fi and fantasy literature. Worlds created by authors like Neil Gaiman and Brandon Sanderson ignite my imagination, offering an escape into realms filled with wonder and adventure.
When I'm not lost in the pages of a good book, I enjoy delving into city builders and colony simulators like Cities: Skylines and RimWorld. There's a sense of creativity and strategy that's incredibly satisfying, and I'm always up for building my own virtual world and seeing it thrive.
But don't let my love for gaming fool you—I'm also a bit of a music enthusiast. I enjoy a diverse range of genres, from jazzpunk and electroswing beats to the smooth croons of blues legends. There's something about the fusion of old and new in songs like "Booty Swing" by Parov Stelar or "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone that gets me tapping my feet and feeling alive.
But here's the real deal: I'm on a never-ending search for someone who understands the beauty of vulnerability, who's not afraid to open up and share their deepest thoughts and feelings. Someone who's equal parts intellectual and empathetic, with a sprinkle of wit and a dash of charm. Someone who can appreciate the quiet moments as much as the grand adventures, who finds joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Physically, I'm drawn to eyes that sparkle with curiosity and a smile that radiates warmth and kindness. I'm a sucker for genuine laughter and someone who isn't afraid to be themselves, flaws and all.
So, if you're nodding along and thinking, "Hey, that sounds like me," then why not take a chance? Let's see where our shared love for cosy nights, meaningful conversations, and heartfelt moments takes us. To get us started, here are a couple of potential conversation starters: "If you could travel to any fictional world for a day, where would you go?" and "What's a hobby or interest you've always wanted to try but haven't yet?"
Drop me a message, and let's embark on this journey together.
With warmth and anticipation, Dave

Flex Bike Ultra: Magnetic Resistance Foldable Exercise Bike with LCD Screen

https://preview.redd.it/sguu2i62amuc1.jpg?width=768&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eafc2db8a4890db85285458725fe2587bbaebb55
I'm going to tell you about my personal experience with this amazing Flex Bike Ultra. This little buddy has become a staple in my living room, and let me tell you, it has been nothing short of a game-changer for my fitness routine.
First off, the adjustable magnetic resistance is really a kicker. I'm not going to lie, I was a bit skeptical about the whole "you can adjust the resistance" thing. But boy, was I wrong! It's like having a personal assistant who adjusts my workout intensity, just the way I want it. And let's not forget the built-in resistance bands. They've been an absolute godsend for getting my upper body involved.
The LCD display is another standout feature. It has six functions: speed, time, distance, scan, calories, and pulse. It's like having a small gym in my living room with all these stats at my fingertips. Plus, the AA batteries that come included are just the icing on the cake.
One thing that truly surprised me was how easy it is to fold up and store. The wheels make it super easy to move around, and when you're done, just fold it up and roll it away. It's like a magical disappearing act for your workout equipment.
Now, onto the cons. The seat isn't the most comfortable, especially during longer workouts. It could use a little more cushioning. And the instructions, while they were clear, could have been a tad more detailed. But all in all, these are minor quibbles.
So, if you're in the market for an exercise bike that's easy to set up, comfortable to use, and won't take up a ton of space, I would wholeheartedly recommend the Flex Bike Ultra. It's become a daily staple in my life, and I can't see myself parting with it anytime soon.

Versatile Connected Exercise Bike with Virtual Terrains

Imagine waking up every morning to a customized workout plan, guided by an expert trainer on a large, vibrant 16" console. This is what the Bowflex VeloCore Bike offers - an immersive indoor cycling experience that seamlessly integrates exercise and entertainment. I've been using this innovative bike for several weeks now and it has truly transformed my home workout routine.
First off, the VeloCore Bike is incredibly well-built. The sturdy construction provides a secure platform for intense workouts, even for someone like me who weighs around 180 lbs. The adjustable seat and handlebars allow me to personalize my ride, ensuring maximum comfort and efficiency.
One of the key features that sets the VeloCore Bike apart is its Lean Mode. Unlike traditional stationary bikes, the VeloCore Bike allows me to lean left and right, simulating the feel of an actual road bike ride. This feature not only adds fun to my workout but also engages my entire body, providing a full-body workout.
The 16" console is another standout feature. It offers a crisp, clear display that is easy to navigate. From customized workouts to adaptive coaching, the console has everything I need to track my progress and stay motivated.
However, there are some downsides worth mentioning. The Bowflex VeloCore Bike is relatively expensive compared to other indoor cycling options. Additionally, the JRNY subscription, although offering excellent training programs and entertainment options, comes at an extra cost.
Despite these drawbacks, I highly recommend the Bowflex VeloCore Bike. Its innovative features, high-quality build, and engaging workout experience make it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to improve their home fitness setup.

Bowflex Max Trainer M8: Space-Saving Home Fitness Machine with Personalized Training

When it comes to burning calories and building stamina, I've found the Bowflex M8 Max Trainer to be a game-changer. As someone who's always on the go, I appreciate its compact design that easily fits into any corner of my home. Plus, the interactive display makes it super easy to navigate and control your workout.
One of my favorite features is its ability to automatically adjust the workout session based on how much time you've got, whether it's four minutes or half an hour. It combines the full-body, low-impact motion of an elliptical with the calorie-burning power of a stepper, helping you torch calories like never before.
The Max Trainer also boasts compatibility with the Bowflex JRNY coaching app, allowing you to create customized fitness regimens that intensify over time. This means you can keep challenging yourself and see real results.
However, there have been some hiccups along the way. One user reported issues with noise levels and parts wearing down over time. While these are concerns, they seem to be isolated cases rather than widespread problems.
Overall, the Bowflex M8 Max Trainer is a solid investment for anyone looking to improve their fitness at home. Its innovative design, customizable workout options, and compact size make it a valuable addition to any home gym. Just be prepared to pay a premium price for this high-quality equipment.

Bowflex M3 Max Interval Trainer

The Bowflex M3 Max Trainer has been a game-changer in my home workout routine. It's so easy to control resistance and speed with the simple click of a dial, and its slim profile fits perfectly into any corner of my house. The real standout feature for me is the intense 14-minute interval workout that it offers. I've noticed a significant difference in how I feel after a workout, and I'm burning calories more efficiently than ever before.
Its unique burn rate display shows exactly how many calories I'm burning per minute, which has been incredibly motivating. The target zone and burn rate indicators help push me to achieve my fitness goals. Plus, the machine provides a full-body workout that doesn't put any strain on my knees or feet.
However, the display quality could be better, and the machine can be a bit noisy when in use. Overall, it's a solid piece of equipment that has helped me stay active and healthy at home.

Cannondale Treadwell Neo 2 EQ E-Bike

From gleaming lanes to bustling city streets, the Cannondale Treadwell Neo 2 EQ Remixte Purple Haze LG has been my reliable companion on countless urban escapades. With its light, powerful Hydrive rear-hub drive system and a 250Wh battery, I find myself venturing further on each ride, exploring the hidden gems and vibrant life of my city.
The herrmans front and rear lights have been a godsend during those early morning commutes, while the premium alloy fenders keep me dry and looking sharp. The comfort saddle and upright handlebar offer an ergonomic ride that's both comfortable and playful. Not too upright, nor too forward and sporty, this bike perfectly balances my desire for speedy, agile urban transport.
One feature that truly stood out is the hub drive design, which greatly reduces costs and extends the life of my bike. I love the fact that my chain, chainrings, and cassette will last longer than on traditional mid-drives.
However, there were two drawbacks. First, the motor torque, though impressive, tends to be jerky on low speeds. Secondly, with all these high-tech components, it can be quite noisy at times.
But despite these minor issues, the Treadwell Neo 2 EQ Remixte Purple Haze LG remains a highly versatile and comfortable bike that's perfect for navigating the intricate landscape of urban living.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone who seeks a reliable, comfortable ride that's perfect for daily commuting, leisure rides, and a dash of daring urban adventures.

Cannondale Quick 6: A Comfortable and Efficient Fitness Bike

https://preview.redd.it/gpq7hnb5amuc1.jpg?width=860&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2fe0bf574483acb496671eeff154a51b6c04843
I recently got the opportunity to try out the Cannondale Quick 6, a lightweight and agile fitness bike perfect for city cruising or leisurely rides. The highlight of this bike is its sleek design with 360 reflective accents, making it not just functional but also visually appealing.
The first thing that stood out for me was how easy it was to assemble. Even with my minimal bike-building experience, I was able to get it up and running within a relatively short amount of time. Its lightweight aluminum frame makes maneuvering through crowded streets a breeze and the Shimano 7-speed drivetrain provides smooth and responsive shifting for various terrains.
One issue I did encounter was with the brake levers which might need some adjustment to make them more comfortable and responsive during long rides. However, this was a minor inconvenience compared to the overall joy of riding the Cannondale Quick 6.
In conclusion, the Cannondale Quick 6 is a great investment for those looking for an attractive and comfortable fitness bike that can withstand urban commuting or long leisurely rides. Just remember to invest in good quality brake levers for a more seamless ride experience.

Specialized Roubaix SL8 Sport APEX Bike

https://preview.redd.it/ewa5tps5amuc1.jpg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e88785a5849c21b2eb2bfb0ac2b121d7b08328a
I recently had the pleasure of testing out the Specialized Roubaix SL8 Sport Apex, and I must say, it's been a game-changer. As an avid cyclist, I've always appreciated the importance of comfort and performance. The Roubaix, with its innovative features like the Rider First Engineered frame and the Future Shock 3.1 fork, has truly taken road cycling to the next level.
One standout feature for me was the SRAM APEX AXS 12-speed drivetrain. The range it provides has allowed me to tackle both steep climbs and fast descents with ease. Additionally, the SRAM APEX eTAP AXS hydraulic disc brakes have instilled confidence in my riding, knowing I can trust them to bring me to a stop quickly and efficiently.
However, no product is perfect, and there are a few drawbacks to the Roubaix. While the DT Swiss G540 rims offer a tubeless-ready design, I found that they were on the heavier side. This made it slightly more challenging to maintain speed on longer rides.
Another area where the Roubaix could improve is its compatibility with accessories. Multiple mounts for fenders and other add-ons would make it an even more versatile option for cyclists looking to customize their riding experience.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I can confidently say that the Specialized Roubaix SL8 Sport Apex has been a welcome addition to my cycling repertoire. Its ability to combine comfort with performance has made it an invaluable tool for tackling various terrains and distances. If you're in the market for a high-quality road bike that will serve you well for years to come, I highly recommend giving the Roubaix a try.

2024.04.11 21:23 sas4k1 Norco Bigfoot VLT 1 running plus size

Norco Bigfoot VLT 1 running plus size
Hey guys, I just wanted to document my experience with this conversion and a few tips.
In December, motivated by Ride Year Round, I decided to get a wheelset to run plus tires but different from his setups I decided to go for 27.5+ just for fun (and because I already had tires and cushcore for it). So I started to check geo and noticed going from 26x4.6 to 27.5x2.8 would only lower the rear end by 10mm, can be problematic in some frames but seems to be within spec for this frame and it's similar size to 26x4.0, so great success so far.
Got a pair or RSD wheel built with Duroc 50s and SRC FB hubs (they actually ship this in some of their fatbike to run 27.5x4.0) and encountered the first difficulty, cushcore in plus sizes is more of a pain than regular sizes but nothing some crushed fingers and a messed up tire lever couldn't solve.
With tires, inserts, rotors and cassete mounted, I found a problem that took me a while to find a solution, due to the rim being slimmer the spokes are disposed further away from the speed sensor, which causes errors and the bike virtually gives you no assistance. So after scratching my head for a couple weeks, I decided to buy a bosch spoke magnet, which to my surprise, wasn't long enough (about 20mm away from the sensor) and not within spec for the sensor (6mm-15mm away if I remember right).
So after fidgeting and further scratching my head, I noticed the pins from crank brothers pedals fit and are exact same thread as the previous sensor, but with a little caveat, they are longer than stock screw. This sparked the idea for the solution, screw two sensors together using the pins to make the length! It's by far not an elegant solution, but 100% functional and practical.

two magnets screwed together.
Again this is just documenting my experiment, I don't recommend doing it and really not sure if Norco would warranty a frame that runs like this, but here is one of the most niche problems I found also would appreciate if you found different solution for this problem.

2024.04.11 00:21 BertieDastard 35 [M4F]- UK/Anywhere- Seeking a Cosy Companion

2024.04.07 22:30 Moderkakor 2022 A4 45 TFSI 265hp allroad quattro

I have the option to buy a 2022 A4 allroad quattro with a 45 TFSI engine. Has about 37000km on it and the price is 34500EUR. It has a offwhite full body paint, virtual cockpit plus, sport seats in the front, keyless, 3 zone AC, 19" RS rims, digital matrix led, proline edition with parking sensors and rear camera. I can put half down up front and get it for about 150eur per month with a loan. I already test drive and I loved it, is it a good price? It's my first car and I have no clue about cars/value, I've only driven the RS3 and RS6 so I don't have anything realistic to compare with both price/engine wise.
