I'm looking to 3D print a somewhat complicated stl of a fossil. The STL was 3D scanned from photos, so it's fairly realistic. However, I obviously can't 3D print the texture as it's a 2D image.
What I'd like to do is somehow transfer the details on the 2D texture to the 3D model, so the 3D print has more of the details - the cracks, the bumps, the depth, that the model itself lacks.
Every time I try to look up a tutorial, I get the opposite: people using 3D models to make a 2D texture. There's likely a method to do what I want to do, but I don't know what it's called, because I am a n00b.

I use to work for McDonald's, got fired a month or two ago. I had a habit of coming in 5-10 minutes late because I lived downtown, I had lived near but moved. I didn't want to quit because I cared about who I worked with which was my 2 nightshift mangers, and a co-employee, and he bullied the f*ck out the co-worker and kinda one of the managers. But before I was fired half, if not most, employees hated the GM.
When he transferred to the location I worked he fired LOT of workers. A few understandable but others were just dumb. He fired and banned two workers that were taking food, understandable. But he fired one for eating a fry out the fry station. Everyone at the location even the managers and cooks, but for some reason he was the only one who got fired without any other reason or, to my knowledge, warnings.
The GM is so rude he told the MANGER, "You should work on your appearance." The manager was fully dressed to code and requirement. meaning he was most likely talking about her face or weight, it clearly wasn't here hair since she never changed it back to stopped coloring her hair.
With the people who worked there that he bullied daily. My co-worker, he noticed when he first came, that she constantly came to work 30 minutes late or not come in but would also stay 1 hour+ late to help and make up for her lost time. He said he was being "fair" and told her he wouldn't fire her if she doesn't miss a day again. FOR 7 WHOLE MONTHS on the schedule HE PUT for her. Keep in mind he NEVER works graveyard, but those who did work Graveyard didn't care or mind. Every week he constantly barraged her with threats to fire her. Motherf*cker even called her one dad and YELLED at her over the phone. It was at the point where she was afraid of him because like most people these days, she has anxiety. One night she worked perfectly, everyone got there food and drinks, and restocked half the whole store, but when he suddenly came in super early, her hands were shaking with fear and she handed out two wrong orders. He would just flat out change her schedule without her permission or knowledge without warning or heads-up.
With the manger he bullied, because we were short-staffed and graveyard just so happen to constantly get the slow and lazy workers. Our time was on average high, 200-700. He told her that she was just bad at her job. He never let her change her schedule even if he changed it on her, even though she had to take her kid(s) to the doctors. He never messed with any other employee or manager schedule without permission.
Me, well we had a lazy employee. So me caring about who I worked with, was asked every time to come in on my day off. Only having 1 day off despite working for a disability company as my main job. And I was the only night shift worker that volunteered to come in 2 hours early to help on X-mas eve and day. I was so incredible, the mangers that day can vouch for me, that I cleared all 3 screens within the 1st hour of working there. My manager during night shift saw our time at 600, left to do something for 10 or 15 minutes. Came back and saw my and the bullied co-worker, me bagging and running food while other was at window handing orders and drinks out, got time down to around 100 or less. One day the lazy employee who actually speaks Spanish got put to a speaker since one cook didn't call in. I ask the employee, if she wanted to switch spots. She said she was told by the night manager to be there and I told her that I know and asked if she wanted to switch to kitchen since the kitchen spoke Spanish only. after telling her she called the GM and told him I was HARASSING her, career ruining accusation. GM calls the manager and asked if I did. She told him I didn't and all he did was tell the manager to send her home. Never came to ask me what happened or anything.
A LOT MORE things happen, but I'll skip to the end. I clocked out, came on time that day, and while on a game on my phone which I'm being timed on. The night manager called me into the OFFICE as I'm waiting for my ride and playing game. As she speaks I'm playing the game and she ask if I'm listening, I say yes but she doesn't believe me so asked what she said. I repeat word for word what she said, and we continued as I'm responding. GM doesn't like it so he tells me to get off my phone, I tell him I can't since I use money on the battle pass so I'm not letting it go to waste. He tells me to put it away and I say no because I'm off the clock and he can't tell me to do so. So he gets angry and makes me sign the termination paper work or whatever he had me sign. But because I put the wrong I put the wrong date and asked the manager for the company number, he tells me it. And I guess he felt like being an a*s he said as I WALKED AWAY, "Make sure you spell my name right." I have dyslexia and anxiety. He felt the need to make the comment so that he can have the last word.
The mangers quit because one reason, the GM. He fired anyone who he didn't like or spoke back to him. And yes I have screen shots, and screen records on my phone of all this evidence and even the lazy worker would say I harassed her so, I can show all evidence. The GM mad ethe place SOO toxic and full of hate and fear. Last thing, he constantly took pictures of the cameras to tell the manager to tell us get off our phones (we went on our phone when we had no customers and nothing else to restocked or clean. However not one of the back window which is where the lazy worker was always on her phone and letting cars pass her window because she had attitude and such. But the kitchen, eventually got to the point where they didn't even care enough to even wear gloves. I was hired to be a Overnight Crew Member, but I had to and could counting inventory, had a thumb print to do refunds, promos and do other stuff, but I promised to only do it for codes and promos when it was busy. I kept that promise till I left. But I ALSO working lobby cashier, and KITCHEN. When I went to kitchen. I listen to my music, but when using my pinky, WITH GLOVES ON, my manger told me to not do that. I even turned off my music when morning staff arrived.
Short story: I worked 6 out of 7 days, as a part-time worker with the ability to do managers and kitchen jobs. But because I live 15 minute drive away, and came in 5-10 minutes late. But on my time off while tired from the work day since we had the lazy worker, as well as from the 6th day, I wanted to relax. But the GM had his feelings hurt, I got fired. Should I report? and How?

’ve never posted on here, but I really need advice because I’m so distraught and have no clue what I should do I’m only 17 and don’t know if there’s any legal action I can take. So for a little background I live with my bio mom and her husband since my dad and mom separated and were never married. I originally lived with my dad since I was 2 he won custody during the custody battle. However he later lost custody of me after having a bad work accident that made him paralysed and he wouldn’t be able to take care of me but I still see him every weekend and the whole summer. I moved in with my mom and her husband and their two sons ,1 stepbrother and 1 half brother, when I was 10. And ever since then my stepdad basically directly and indirectly says that I’ve disrupted their lives by coming back into my mother’s life, because I’m an extra person they have to take care of.
I’ve been working since I was in 10th grade and saving up for my senior yeacollege since last year with the money from my job since my mom and her husband let me know that only my mom would only help me with the basics such as my graduation cap and gown, senior dues, and senior class photo. Anything else I would have to pay for myself such as prom.
I get paid about $400 every two weeks from my job which Ive been saving in full, and then making extra money doing nails about $100 a week plus tip which I use as my spending money. Since it’s my senior and last year of high school I’ve been wanting to go all out for prom so I set a $800 budget for my prom dress. My prom is in April and I wanted to get my prom dress early since most of the actual cute ones sell out quick. So I went prom dress shopping in December and found a beautiful dress that’s costed $890. It’s dark green with a long train with rhinestone imbedded into it with glitter in the dress.
When I first showed my mom and stepdad the dress they asked how much it was, which I told them the amount and my mom said that she wouldn’t be paying for a dress that expensive which I replied it’s okay because I have more than enough money saved up to buy it, and I’ll still have a lot of money left over (23k to be exact but only my mom knows that) mom said I could get the dress and that it was very pretty, however my stepdad said that it’s irresponsible and a waste of money and I should use it for better things like helping out the family and paying some of the bills. And get a dress cheaper that’s max $300. Mind you both his son’s own PS5 and multiple $200+ shoes.
Long story short my mom disagreed with him and I ended up getting the dress in the end and she even put $150 toward it.
However ever since then he constantly brings up that I help pay for things around the house since I have so much money to throw away but my mom always shuts it down saying that I work hard for my money to save it and I already help about with paying the Netflix, Amazon prime, and Hulu bills while my step brother (18) don’t pay anything.
Anyway last Saturday we got into a really big disagreement because my stepdad suggested I should help my step brother pay for his prom to which I responded with no. He later called me selfish and said that it’s not fair that I get an expensive outfit while he doesn’t. And I guess I said with in a snarky way I responded with that’s not my child or my problem. He later tried to complain to my mom and she said that I was right and that if anything he should pay for his own prom.
Well today when I woke up from a nap I noticed my prom dress was missing from my closet since it’s in the very front of my closet and looked around for it. I then asked my stepdad if he has seen it since my mother was at work. And he said he had, and in fact he was washing it, while giving me a condescending smile. I immediately ran downstairs and saw my dress being washed on the heavy duty cycle I immediately cancel it and it was ruined. Majority of my rhinestones came out and the glitter was washed out the whole dress had been mangled.
I took one look at it and then threw it a trash bag and left for my friends house with the dress. I texted my mom and sent her pictures but I’m currently at my friends house and laying on her bed. My friends parent hanged it outside to allow it to air dry so my stepdad can’t put the blame on them if the dried it in the dryer. What makes me know he did to spite me because he never washes clothes, cooks or anything since “he’s the man of the house so he shouldn’t have to”, so there was no viable reason he could have for washing it, even if it needed washing.
Is there anything I can do? I know neither of them can replace being they are tough financial situation? I’ll update you guys when mom gets home. So far my stepdad has called 2x but I haven’t answered him. And my mom’s at work and can’t receive calls.

Edit 1:I don't know how to add updates so imma just add an edit but my mom and me just got off the phone and she's pissed and otw home. She's currently otw home so me and my friend and her dad are otw to my house and my mom said she was gonna call the cops as soon as she get off the phone so they may be there by the time I get there. We've taken pictures and the uncle (my mom brother) will be over there by 8 bc I contacted him while at work. I've listened to all your suggestions about withdrawing my money out of my account so I thinking and I talked to my dad about that as well and told me I can stay with him
Edit/Update 2:When I got home my friend stayed in the car while her dad walked me in, and my step dad was already gone. However police were at the house. As of now police said they can’t really arrest him because it’s not like he broke the law of stealing (I don’t know how to explain it basically this theft isn’t breaking the law bc he washed it and didn’t keep it) they suggested I can get a confession and get him to pay or take him to small claims court. Also the dress is non refundable if damaged so I can’t return it or anything. While explaining to my mom what happened I kinda fumbled my words and started crying and she hugged me as I cried. And she said that he’s gonna pay for this, this financial issue has actually been a on going disagreement and I think he just pulled the last straw bc she is PISSED. Also I talked to my uncle and he’s actually off work and over his way over here.
Him and my stepdad apparently have a rough history since my dad has had a smart mouth towards him in the past. While explaining to my uncle what happened he said that it would be alright and if anything he’ll buy back the dress before it sells out, so I’ll have my dress by prom but he does expect my step dad to pay me back one way or another so I’m basically probably gonna get my dress for free. She not a horrible “I’ll pick my husband over you” mother and she always defend me and he’s never pulled a stunt like this just tries to convince her to control my money and savings. And she’s never spent my saving either. I feel like thats why they always clash because he has a mindset of we have all these financial troubles and your daughter could solve them with her savings and you have access to them.
Edit/Update 4: Okay so my uncle came over and he and my mom had a little argument bc he blamed her for enabling my stepdads behaviour by not leaving him and thats why he felt comfortable to do what he did. And she argued back saying she always defended me against him and has never taken any of my money (which is true). We all talked about it a bit and she revealed that last night they had actually had a argument about paying off a car payment because she made a comment about how all these bills are taking a toll on her, and he made a comment about how it wouldn’t be that much of a toll if she used my savings and didn’t allow me to spend it on foolishness and she got mad and defensive bc he keeps bringing it up.
He also said that the $900 I spent could’ve payed off that car payment for the next 2 months. Btw he only know about my savings because he know how’s much I get paid and that I’ve been saving all of it. So we think that’s what triggered him to throw my dress in the washer.
My mom and stepdad has also been texting back and fourth and he admitted that he washed it to teach me a lesson that I shouldn’t spend that much money on a dress that can be destroyed that easily but he put the setting on heavy duty so he obviously intended to destroy it. My uncle has also offered to replace the dress so I don’t need to worry about not getting to wear my special dress. We called the boutique and explained it to them and they say they can order another dress although it won’t be there until Feb 23 which fine tbh.

Edit/Update 5: My uncle has transferred me $1000 for my prom dress and I’m actually planning on using the money for replace the dress and buy new shoes. He’s very well off, which was one reason I contacted him in the first place.
So I plan on just calling the boutique and seeing if they can reorder it and I’ll just pick it up from there sometime in February. However my step-dad still must pay in some form, or at least we are trying to get him to. My uncle has called my other uncles and aunts (with my permission) to basically vent about the situation.
So majority of my mom side who all live in GA knows about what happened. I woke up to a lot of text about the situation given sympathy, as well as money to have for prom which have totalled to about $300. So this is great. My mom has also contacted my step-in-laws who then spread the news with pictures and I guess most of them are shocked as well other than his mother his is buying his claim that it’s just a dress and it was a accident despite evidence. I got a call from my step-dad sister sympathising for me.
And through conversations with I learned that my step-dad has also been asking a lot of his family to help him with his finances. Because for some reason the dude has bought so many things to pay off he can’t keep up with them.
My mom called my step-dad for answers which we recorded. And he’s basically trying to blame her bc if she didn’t piss him off last night then he wouldn’t have done it. And that he was trying to show me why I shouldn’t be irresponsible with money bc I guess he planned to lecture afterwards.
Also my mom has broken up with him bc he blamed her for caring more about me than him, which is weird. Which ensured in a argument with her saying “you think i care about her more than you, your gonna see just how much I do”
Also they’ve been on a rocky relationship since he can’t manage money and this was her breaking point.

Just saw this update!! Now that you have the text, please show the police as confession as destruction of property and/or take him to court to pay for it. It’s not fair to your uncle. Once you get your step dad to pay up, you can pay your uncle back. Girl Good luck!

What your step-dad did is called malicious mischief and is a crime. With the confessions and proof, there probably is a case. Just know that because of the monetary value, it's most likely just a misdemeanor charge. Regardless, you definitely have a small claims case against him. Sadly, by the sounds of his financial affairs, you'll be lucky if he ever pays, but it's still worth pursuing. Good luck!

Okay so a lot of bs has transpired. Firstly we’ve place an order for my dress, and they are shipping it now and it should be at the boutique by Feb 23 so all that is taken care of. My SD and mom are officially broken up and my mom said she doesn’t now if she’ll move on with divorce proceedings yet bc everything is still fresh and lawyer are expensive and she can’t afford it rn.
Also they have a prenup so they don’t share assent and the house is my mother dad house she inherited (she had a different dad than all her siblings and all her siblings share a dad).
So my step father showed back up with his brother after a while and my step father decided to do and buy me a new dress from Macy that looks similar to dress in color and length but it’s very tacky and ugly. And look nothing like the original.
He then tried to apologise and said it wasn’t his intention to ruin the dress. he said that he was simply gonna wash it and say “see this is why you don’t buy things like this” and then he would’ve bought me another dress…. But that’s make absolutely no sense.
Also my uncle came back to my house after I texted him my step dad came back (he was at the store) and they got into a big argument where basically my uncle demanded to know why he destroyed the dress
And my step dad said he not gonna walk up in his house demanding shit, and my uncle called him a bitch. And then my SD said to call him a bitch again which he did and they ended up fighting. (My SD lost) he threatened to call the cops but we reminded him that he swung first
After that my step dad went on a tirade and cussed us out and left and took the dress with him.
We are actually planning on taking y’all advice and taking him to small claims court given the evidence and the damage. And hopefully we win. Also my SD is staying at his parents house currently.
Lastly for all curious about my brothers they are 15 (half) and 18 (step) .The 15 was at his girlfriend house since Friday so he wasn’t home for any of the commotion but did reach out to me today, I love him so much. And the 18 year basically sided with his dad so that all there is to say.

’ve never posted on here, but I really need advice because I’m so distraught and have no clue what I should do I’m only 17 and don’t know if there’s any legal action I can take. So for a little background I live with my bio mom and her husband since my dad and mom separated and were never married. I originally lived with my dad since I was 2 he won custody during the custody battle. However he later lost custody of me after having a bad work accident that made him paralysed and he wouldn’t be able to take care of me but I still see him every weekend and the whole summer. I moved in with my mom and her husband and their two sons ,1 stepbrother and 1 half brother, when I was 10. And ever since then my stepdad basically directly and indirectly says that I’ve disrupted their lives by coming back into my mother’s life, because I’m an extra person they have to take care of.
I’ve been working since I was in 10th grade and saving up for my senior yeacollege since last year with the money from my job since my mom and her husband let me know that only my mom would only help me with the basics such as my graduation cap and gown, senior dues, and senior class photo. Anything else I would have to pay for myself such as prom.

So today I had a woman let’s name her Jane come to pick up her child’s medication. And I told her kindly at the time that it was going to be about 45 minutes since we were short staffed. The woman replies “ugh see this is why I hate this pharmacy. I requested the refill at 11:30 today why isn’t it ready?!” Which I kindly say, “maam I apologize but we are extremely short staffed and we are doing everything we can to help get everyone their meds. I’ll see you in 45 minutes.” To which this evil cake face responses “no I’ll see you in 30 minutes and it better be ready.” And she proceeds to gas it out of drive through. (We have two full time and two part time people there at the time and truck plus 4 shots waiting and my pharmacist was in an interview for another part timer) one of the full times started profusely vomiting so she leaves (side note the full time that left has called out of work every single week at least two days so she not expected back). So now there are three techs in the pharmacy two on customer service and one girl counting. Time passes and I think oh that woman isn’t back yet maybe she’s just gonna wait for the text. It had been like 20 minutes and she’s a known problem. Truly she thinks we only have her family’s prescriptions to fill. I have to print the label pull the drugs verify the drug is the correct dose and ndc then count it out then it’s got to have a photo for proof of the quantity I counted then it gets its vial. Then I scan everything then it gets a label slapped on it then it gets bagged. Then I hand it off to the pharmacist to make sure I am giving the correct drug,quantity to blah blah. So no I do not slap labels on anything. Now you can either move out of my drive through and come inside or you can make a loop.” At this point I’m shaking bc that’s how I get pissed one of my part time coworkers asks to take over and I told her no because the front pick up also has a line. “ what are you gonna do move my car. Fill my scripts for blah blah now. I hate this pharmacy yall are so lazy. Every time I’m here it’s always so busy and yall are so hateful to me and my family.” “Maam would you prefer I transfer you else where bc there are people behind you who need their drugs to and you sitting here prevents me from helping them or you. Or I’m going to get the pharmacist involved.” Didn’t even have to bc one of my beautiful regulars happened to be inside and called my pharmacist and told her that I needed help My pharmacist proceeded to come up with her 5’2 self and tell her if she doesn’t move in the next ten seconds she’s calling the dr and telling them we will not longer be filling for them and they will have to go else where. When I was 19 I got a tattoo in honor of my mom. Long story short our relationship was rocky through the years and she has now passed away. It's been years since I've really looked at it and I was kind of astounded at how poorly it has aged.
Now at 35, I'm looking for ideas on how to breathe new life into this sad design to commemorate how far I've come. I don't know if I want a strict cover-up or an adaptation. I'd love for someone to run with it for ideas to sketch.
My thoughts: 1. I love well done greyscale with maybe a pop of color 2. Design wise I like pseudo realistic without needing to be photorealistic 3. I'd like something to wrap around to my arm(s). I do have KP (chicken skin) so I'm not sure how that would take tattoo ink. The Internet is split when I googled it. 4. I'm a nature lover. I have a farm, I spend my time gardening. I do raise chickens and sheep but I'm unsure if I want that included. 5. I have thought about getting my farm logo silhouette and my "heart" dogs paw print but it doesn't necessarily have to be in the same design. 6. I don't really have a favorite flower but prefer wildflower types in general.
Are there other questions I should be asking? I don't have any local friends with many tattoos so I know finding an artist is going to be the hurdle but going in I want a sketch in my head of what might work.

Up until today, I haven't had an issue getting my medication filled at my pharmacy. Apparently they're out of stock there and don't know when it will come in. I've called a ton of pharmacies trying to find who has BOTH formulations of it since I take an XR and IR... I've found a couple that have it. But, when I ask them if they can transfer it between the original pharmacy and their pharmacy, every single one of them has told me that it's ILLEGAL and that DEA has NOT and WILL NEVER change their regulations on that.
Except... they have. But none of them seem to be remotely aware of this. They're not telling me that they can't because they don't have the right tech to do it electronically. They keep telling me it's illegal on a federal level. How do they not know that it's changed? Why hasn't anyone been curious enough to, oh idk, google it?!?! Should I print it out and show them? This is maddening.

Then I jailbreak PS4 using Kar0 usual method and transferred the goldhen.bin to /data/GoldHen/payloads/ but again stuck at Stage4.
EchoStrech kindly suggested that it should work if you config the usb right. But Don’t know what it means? Any ideas???

My beloved 7yo cat died quickly during play of unsuspected severe HCM (27g heart on a small 8-9lb cat). We had a necropsy done and the histo+tox are being processed now due to a confusion in procedure more out of precaution for my 12yo OG cat with mild HCM. It was exactly 2 weeks ago so my brain has shifted to wanting to help the community and being upset that in 2024 this is still incredibly hard to detect without regular $700+ vet visits. (I do this for his brother and would have for him if we had any idea, but this is out of reach for most.) I also want research to reveal more about human/env factors that we may only currently have limited data on.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any active research/studies that needed data or tissue. The university handling his remains doesn’t know of any and UC Davis’ phone line is weirdly not connecting. Honestly, ashes are very weird to me and don’t do much to aide my healing process versus more lively things, like his paw prints which I have.
If anyone knows of any studies, research, or folks who are interested in more data, please let me know ASAP. His final report should be available in the next week, and he’s been preserved since within an hour of his death.
Also, I am very aware of the “medical research donation” problems in the US for at least humans that lead to people being put on display instead of going to real research. Any advice to avoid this in the animal realm would be appreciated as well. 🙏

Noobie here. I bought an Aquila X2 second-hand. The seller was kind enough to include an SD card he'd been using with this machine. I came home, leveled the plate, and could print anything I wanted off the SD card. I've been searching thinkiverse for cute animals that my kids want me to print. I have unzipped the files (if needed), put them in VoxelMaker (I've also tried Cura) after editing printer settings like many tutorials showed, sliced them, and saved them to the same SD Card. When I insert it in the machine I can see the .g file, and can select Print. The printer warms up and moves the printing head (my terminology is also novice), but doesn't spit out any filament. I can change NOTHING and still print the files the seller had preloaded. It's got to be my file type or transferring them to the SD Card, right?

We got him from Safe Haven for Cats in Raleigh July 3, 2021 at only 3 months old and he was definitely a crazy one. He loved life, eating, playing, cuddling, listening to Chrsitmas music, making biscuits, chirping at the squirrels & birds, and chatting back to us with his beautiful meows. He also enjoyed a few minutes outside running throughout the grass and exploring it all like he had never done before. Yesterday was as normal as any day. He ate, slept, watched the birds, and enjoyed his time but suddenly late afternoon he began to yell, crouch, and hide away. submitted by Odd_Worker_7647 to cats [link] [comments] We took him to UrgentVet where it was discovered that his urinary tract was blocked and had we waited an hour longer, he would have passed. They tried all they could but unfortunately could not unblock him and so we were transferred to Oak Heart Animal Hospital where they did the absolute most for him but unfortunately it was far too critical/complicated to where a catheter could not even pass. As beforehand, we were then transferred to NC State Vet Hospital where the best plan was surgery but unfortunately Cosmo had declined rapidly, discovered internal fluids, low temp, slow heartbeat, and ultimately began fading. No matter how much it pained us and how much we wish we wouldn’t have to, we decided it was best for Cosmo to go to heaven so he would no longer suffer from the pain and any future complications. We were able to hold him, tell him how much we loved him, and what he meant to us before he was put to sleep in my mother’s arms. Going home with an empty crate and his penguin is not what we imagined but we knew it was what was best for him. As of now we are numb… the house is quiet and empty. I miss holding him, kissing him, hearing his meows, talking to him, feeding him and we were given a ClayPaw Print which we will cherish forever. Soon we will receive his ashes and he will be back home to where he belongs and is loved. I want to thank all the Dr’s, nurses, and assistants that did everything they could for Cosmo and we will forever be grateful to them. Please love your babies and cherish them forever for in a span of 24 hours everything can change. If you feel as if your pet is having an issue, please that them to the vet before it’s too late. 🤍🐈⬛♾️ |
