2024.05.15 01:21 simpngrits Importance of interfacing fabric?

I'm working on making my first bag which will be a small duffle to use for the gym. I'm very vaguely following a tutorial online (mainly to make sure I don't forget anything), and they mention using iron-on interfacing fabric on the canvas.
I get that this makes the canvas a bit more stiff and (I assume) this helps with the bag keeping it's shape when empty, but once everything is all stitched together, does it hold itself together reasonably?
I'm not necessarily looking for a perfect form, but I'd like for the bag to not melt into a puddle either. Thanks for any advice!

2024.05.14 21:26 ev93 How to make a sphere/ball with double crochet stitches (US DC)? Plan is to use as a cover for a small spherical cushion, which already has fabric cover to hold in stuffing so I don’t need super tight stitches. All the tutorials I’ve found when so far are either single crochet or half double crochet.

If so, what would be the increase pattern? I just prefer using double crochet for lots of reasons, so hoping I can make this work! Thanks for any advice you have!

2024.05.14 20:43 Tosca22 Is this possible? Latex dress designs

Dear everyone, I'm an experienced sewist and I'm thinking about making myself a nice latex dress for dance performance and other adventures. I have never used a latex before but after seeing lots of tutorials and using my experience from other crafts (leather, wood, clay, painting, design, tailoring etc) I'm pretty confident I could pull it off. It would be my first latex project, but again, it's not the first time I pull off a super ambitious random project on the first try (ADHD helps). My question is about the designs, as I'm not super familiar with the material (I only use sheets for insulation in my art restoration job). Since I requiere mobility on my legs to dance, I have two options: making variations of a circle or half circle skirt, or going into the pencil skirt direction but adding a slit. I prefer the body hugging figure as it makes me feel more confident about myself, specially with heels. Now the question comes into the construction. Does anyone have experience adding high slits to latex skirts? I'm talking groin height, either right over my thigh in the front, or back up to the butt. Now, if I was to make this on fabric, I would make different panels and use the seam for the slit. Do I need to do the same on latex or can I just cut up to wherever I want the slit to go and add a reinforcement so it doesn't rip? Another option to have mobility but still have my butt tight and looking amazing would be to make a pencil skirt and add a fishtail (either as an insert in the back slit, or I could make a mermaid cut with different panels) When I do this designs in fabric I like to use lycra, stretch Velvet or other stretchy fabrics I find (almost Always theta are a 4 way Stretch). With this fabrics I've done all kinds of designs, including ruching (all variations, one side, two sides, butt, shoulder etc etc) so im curious about what the design possibilities are. The thinner the material, the stretchier but I wonder if it will have enough weight. Has anyone here done something like this before? I did have a look at some shops with already made clothes but I didn't find anything I liked.
Looking forward for any information/pictures/ideas/tips!!

Yeezy Ankle Socks Pods Tutorial Custom Pods with Pictures
Step 1: Make sure your pods are fully pulled up and on how you like to wear them.
Step 2: Chalk outline under your ankle all the way around
Step 3: Cut above the chalk outline you created. Thicker chalk works best for this. I think mine was about half inch in diameter. I used medical scissors to cut mine out. The sharper the scissors the better
Step 4: burn the fabric around where you cut. The material is pretty flame resistant so you don’t have to worry about your pods going up in smoke.
Step 5: ENJOY! They still wear like normal but I feel like they are more comfortable like this. They don’t fall off or anything.

Why Should We Bleach Knots on Wig: OhMyPretty Wig

https://preview.redd.it/f9x0aoro1d0d1.jpg?width=540&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0166201498c054276deb68ce06665ab251eb0d22
Bleaching knots on a wig is a method typically used to create a extra herbal-searching hairline while sporting a lace wig. Here are some motives why a person would possibly pick to bleach knots on a wig:
Realistic Scalp Appearance: The cause of bleaching knots is to imitate the advent of hair developing at once from the scalp. When a wig is built with a lace or silk base, the person strands of hair are connected to the lace or silk fabric the usage of knots. These knots are normally darker in colour and may be sizeable in opposition to the wearer`s scalp. By bleaching the knots, they come to be lighter, mixing extra seamlessly with the scalp and growing a extra sensible scalp appearance.
Reduced Visibility: Bleaching knots enables to lessen the visibility of the wig's hairline and parting. When the knots are dark, they are able to create a seen grid-like pattern, making it apparent that the hair is a wig. By lightening the knots, they come to be much less sizeable, making the wig seem extra herbal and undetectable.
Customization: Bleaching knots lets in for personalisation of the wig's hairline and parting to suit the wearer's pores and skin tone. Different people have various pores and skin tones, and the colour of the knots won't obviously suit everyone's scalp colour. By bleaching the knots, you may alter their colour to higher mixture together along with your precise pores and skin tone, improving the general realism of the wig.
It's really well worth noting that bleaching knots is a sensitive procedure that calls for talent and warning to keep away from adverse the wig. It's encouraged to are searching for expert help or observe unique tutorials and hints if you are now no longer skilled with the bleaching technique. Additionally, right aftercare and renovation are crucial to make sure the toughness and first-rate of the wig after bleaching.

A Fresh Start: The Significance of Graduation Bouquets
Graduation is a milestone worth celebrating, and one of the most enduring traditions associated with this achievement is the graduation bouquet. These floral arrangements hold deep symbolic meaning and play a significant role in the graduation ceremony and festivities. Let's delve into the world of graduation bouquets, exploring their history, symbolism, types, and how to choose the perfect one for your graduate.

History of Graduation Bouquets

https://preview.redd.it/vk6q5kp7ib0d1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=1f950d07247657129196798532e07f45ea6ce1bf
The tradition of giving flowers to graduates dates back centuries, with origins in ancient civilizations. In medieval Europe, graduates were awarded floral wreaths as a symbol of their academic achievements. Over time, this practice evolved into the modern-day graduation bouquet, consisting of a variety of flowers and greenery.

Types of Graduation Bouquets

Today, there are various types of graduation bouquets to choose from. Traditional floral bouquets are a classic choice, featuring a mix of flowers like roses, lilies, and carnations. However, non-traditional options such as edible bouquets made from fruits or candy, as well as balloon bouquets, have also gained popularity.

Symbolism of Graduation Bouquets

Flowers have long been used as symbols of new beginnings and achievement. In the context of graduation, they represent the graduate's growth, resilience, and future possibilities. Different flowers carry different meanings; for example, roses symbolize love and admiration, making them a popular choice for graduation bouquets.

Importance of Graduation Bouquets in Celebrations

Graduation bouquets hold great emotional significance for both graduates and their families. They are often presented to graduates during the ceremony, serving as a visual representation of the support and pride felt by their loved ones. Additionally, they add a touch of elegance and beauty to the occasion.

How to Choose the Perfect Graduation Bouquet

When selecting a graduation bouquet, it's important to consider the graduate's preferences. Take into account their favorite flowers, colors, and overall style. If you're unsure, opt for a timeless and elegant arrangement that will complement their graduation attire.
Floral Garage Singapore helps you by giving you the option to choose your favorite flowers, as they have different types of flowers and also have free same day delivery.

DIY Graduation Bouquets

For those who prefer a more personal touch, creating a DIY graduation bouquet can be a rewarding experience. You'll need flowers, greenery, floral tape, and ribbon. Follow online tutorials or let your creativity guide you to craft a one-of-a-kind bouquet for your graduate.

Top Trends in Graduation Bouquets

Modern trends in graduation bouquets include minimalist designs, monochromatic color schemes, and unconventional floral choices. Additionally, incorporating personalized elements, such as photos or meaningful trinkets, into the bouquet has become increasingly popular.

Eco-Friendly Options for Graduation Bouquets

For environmentally-conscious individuals, there are eco-friendly alternatives to traditional bouquets. These include bouquets made from sustainable materials like recycled paper or fabric, as well as potted plants that can be replanted after the graduation festivities.

The Future of Graduation Bouquets

As society continues to evolve, so too will the traditions surrounding graduation bouquets. Future trends may include technological advancements such as LED lights integrated into bouquets or cultural influences shaping the choice of flowers and designs.

Conclusion

In conclusion, graduation bouquets are more than just beautiful floral arrangements; they are symbols of achievement, hope, and new beginnings. Whether you opt for a traditional bouquet or a creative alternative, the gesture of giving a graduation bouquet is a meaningful way to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of a graduate.

I want to learn how to use autocad and revit, but I’m not a student anymore and I can’t afford to pay a lot to get said software programs. I’ve been kind of going through tutorials online, but I want to know what free open source alternatives for either of these programs you’d recommend. Manipulating a static image for movement and light
Hi, I have been tasked with coming up with a American flag mural design for the wall pictured below. I was looking at the patterns of natural light on the wall and was thinking those patterns would help create the wave movement in the flag. I've never been able to master shading for curled/rolled fabric without having a reference photo in front of me and I have zero idea how to go about creating this using a American flag stock photo. I'm wondering what would be the best way to do this? Is there another CC program that I should be using instead of photoshop, like illustrator or AE? What search terms should I be using when looking for tutorials? Your help is much appreciated...Thanks!!

...and how do I deal with it when taking in a shirt?
Over the last few months I've been learning to make my clothes fit better, and I'm now pretty comfortable slimming down shirts by unpicking the hem, flattening it out, taking the shirt in, cutting off the excess fabric, then stitching the hem back.
But I can't get my head around what I should be doing with this type of hem:

Sewed an easy pair of wrap pants
I'm very much a beginner at sewing, but I've not been able to find wrap pants, so I decided to make my own. I loosely followed this tutorial https://www.upstyledaily.com/diy/pants/sew/wrap-pants-44338787# I had some issues with the sewing machine, so I've decided to postpone hemming and add a waistband at a later point. Luckily, the jersey fabric is stretchy enough that I can wear them already though. If anyone has any tips or critiques, I'd be grateful

We're an in-development/beta server dedicated to 3 main points:
We try to provide a variety of content, however given how small the development team is (at the moment, only 3 builders and 1 plugin developer), updates and changes will take a long time. Basically every mode is being re-imagined (Our first of these will be Tower Defense coming out this month!). Given this nature, features, playerdata, and basically everything else isn't perfectly stable, and may change in a flash. Now is the perfect time to come playtest and not only help grow our community, but to help find issues and propose new ideas.
BudderCraft is extremely strict on preventing cheating of any kind. Due to this, no mods (except those listed towards the end) are allowed, and this will never change (except potentially for Fabric, Forge and Lunar in the far future when we can limit their functionality). No bedrock modding will ever be allowed mostly due to console users having no legal way of obtaining them. Any intentional ways to get around this will result in a permanent, unpardonable ban. However mods aren't the only way to cheat. Any other forms, weather with ways of automation (hacks, mods, resource packs, we don't allow them atm, but a whitelist feature will be added someday) or not (game exploits, alt accounts, "win-trading" - where people in competitive modes play for a specific result rather than trying to win individually, and many more), all cheating rule breaks will almost certainly result in an unpardonable ban. Any form of piracy will also be given the same treatment. Since Minecraft isn't considered abandonware (meaning its no longer sold anymore), you cannot pirate/steal it, and there is no excuse that can be made to justify it.
A central point to a fun online game is to only allow fun and friendly people to play it. Anyone being rude for no reason, whether in a competitive environment or not, will not be tolerated whatsoever, especially if it involves personal attacks against specific traits of the person (race, sexuality, gender, etc.). While there is a way to breach this unpunished, not only does everyone who can see the content have to have explicitly said they're ok with it, but mods and admins can disallow it for any reason (mostly to prevent people from harassing others behind their back). Further info about this exception can be found under Non-ruling terms in /warp Rules
Other small points:
If you're ready to check us out, join with the IP below. We always run on the latest version (as every server should), however it may take a week or two to update versions once a new one releases.
IP(Java and Bedrock): play.buddercraft.net

2024.05.13 17:23 IfgiU How to create a GUI that opens from an item?

Hi! I'm trying to follow this tutorial, but it's pretty outdated I believe.
First of all, I see that there's a Screen class already in fabric, so is LibGui even supposed to be used? Or is using it some old outdated practice?
Now, in the tutorial, an item is created, and the use() function is overridden to open the GUI:
u/Override public TypedActionResult use(World world, PlayerEntity user, Hand hand) { MinecraftClient.getInstance().openScreen(new GuilooScreen(new GuilooGUI())); return super.use(world, user, hand); }
Note: In the tutorial, the item is named ExampleItem or something like that. I wanted to be cool and edgy and called mine Guiloo.
The problem is that the openScreen() function doesn't exist anymore, or at lest IntelliJ can't find it.
Also, here's my GuilooGUI file:
public class GuilooGUI extends LightweightGuiDescription { public GuilooGUI() { WGridPanel root = new WGridPanel(); setRootPanel(root); root.setSize(300, 200); } }
and my GuilooScreen:
public class GuilooScreen extends CottonClientScreen { public GuilooScreen(GuiDescription description) { super(description); } }
I tried ditching the tutorial and just looking it up on the documentation of LibGui (which isn't as helpful as I had hoped). I modified GuilooGUI to extend SyncedGuiDescription and added a root.validate() at the end, according to this site. However, I got stuck following the "Register the GUI" part of the site. What's a ScreenHandler? I don't have a block, I have an item, what am I supposed to write instead of ExampleBlock.ID? What's a syncId?
In short, I am very lost. Should I even continue trying to follow that website? The video tutorial doesn't work, this doesn't work, what now?

I'm trying to recreate the pants from this character's outfit (Gado from Bloody Roar) and so far I've gotten a few reference images and ripped the models and flat texture from the game as a reference. As for methods to make them, I'm pretty lost. Research so far showed that I should probably go with either cotton or a cotton-nylon blend material for that military vibe, and for the markings I was thinking stencils and fabric paint might do the trick?
In any case, though I've been looking up plenty of tutorials on my own, if you've got any tips on the process please share those too!
TLDR: This guy has cool pants and I want them. Would I be better off making them from scratch or getting an existing pair and modifying them? And in either case, what methods would you recommend?
