The number one greatest show of all time, though, without any contest, is The Leftovers. The whole show is a masterpiece, but the second season in particular is one of the greatest works of art I've seen.

I haven’t found a show that matches the same level of snarky, smart, zany, and topical jokes. There’s tons of real easy political dig jokes on tv now, but 30 rock was truly something else and something very special, it wasn’t ever heavy handed without letting you know they knew they were being heavy handed and that was part of the joke.

I’ve seen lots of different answers/advice all over the web, so I figured I should ask for my specific situation to get a clear answer.
First off, I have legally changed my name from my birth name for personal reasons. My pseudonym is both based on and influenced my current legal name. Everything changed legally except my last name.
Essentially my pseudonym is my first two initials (first name and first middle name) followed by my second middle name. I intentionally designed it that way so it’s unique on its own but still completely tied to my legal name.
So question being- could I sign a contract under this semi-pseudonym? I ask because I recently got a contract that listed my artist name under the signature line. Some answers I’ve seen online have said it MUST be your legal first and last name on all contracts. Others say you can sign completely under a pen name as long as you’re prepared to jump through extra hoops to prove it’s you if a situation arises. Others also say getting a legal DBA, but I’m not sure that’s even an option in my state (I’m in the USA) because the closest option I see when I look it up is a sole proprietorship, and honestly I use the name primarily for branding purposes in my industry.
Also wondering in the event of being issued a physical check under this artist name, would I still be able to cash/deposit it to my regular account? Or is that something that’d be up to the bank?
Essentially, if the question ever came up, I could easily pull out my license to compare to my artist name and my legal name and anyone with half a brain would go “oh that makes sense.” But I know there are lots of technicalities when it comes to legal documents and stuff.

Hi all - I’m trying to determine if I am eligible for citizenship by descent going back four generations (all male relatives). I have pretty good information / records about my family (if perhaps not in the correct official formats), but am not totally clear about how a period of absence from Germany and potential lack of consular registration may have affected my case.
Great-great grandfather • born in 1861 in Germany (near Baden-Baden) • emigrated in 1881 to USA • married in 1884 (incidentally to another German emigrant if at all relevant) • naturalized as US citizen in 1886
Great-grandfather • born in 1885 in USA (one year prior to his father’s naturalization) • married around 1907
Grandfather • born in 1914 in USA • enlisted in US Army in 1942 (my understanding is this is irrelevant since before 2000) • married in 1943
Father • born in 1950 in USA • married in 1978
Me • born in 1984 in USA
*Not sure if it’s relevant in terms of potential loss of citizenship if residing outside Germany for +10 years since my great-grandfather was born within 5 years of my great-great grandfather leaving Germany, but the entire family (great-great grandfather, great-great grandmother, and great-grandfather) traveled back to Germany in 1887 and my great-great grandfather is listed in local church records as the witness / best man at his brother’s wedding in August 1887.
I know anecdotally that they traveled back at least one or two additional times, but I don’t know the specific timing except for the 1887 trip and a 1922 trip so not sure if it was every 10 years.
I’m not clear if my great-grandfather (born in US to a father who was not yet naturalized / still a German citizen) was also subject to a requirement to register with the consulate or visit Germany every 10 years, or if that requirement only applies to the ORIGINAL emigrant (great-great grandfather) and once he passed on citizenship to his son, it’s no longer relevant for the second generation.
Any advice about whether I am eligible would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Title says it all. There questions are going to sound extremely stupid to people who have been doing this for a decade or better (which is probably all of you).
I've used LinuxFS and I can install Arch in 15 minutes (with luks) and for some reason the Gentoo documentation both confounds and annoys me. And there's a whole mess of stuff it doesn't answer (or I can't find the answers anyway).

1. What's the difference between 17.X and 20.x profiles?
   
2. What's the difference between Desktop and Desktop/Plasma profiles?
   
3. How come mirrorselect only has like 4 mirrors in the USA but my local mirror for Arch also has Gentoo (is a hell of a lot faster) but not on that list? Also ...is the George Tech mirror ever gonna come back? Using it produces a buttload of 403 errors (I gave up on that one).
   
4. What's the difference between jobs and load? Jobs is threads/memory and load is CPU? (my guess?)
   
5. Why LLVM? Why?
   
6. I used the desktop/plasma profile but it keeps complaining about USE flags being missing. But I can't tell what the flag is or where it goes? It just says sys-blah>something ? Does this go in a package.use/file named after the app asking for it?
   
7. If Gentoo relies solely on OpenRC as its preferred Init System. Why is there so much systemd stuff in here?
   
8. if I am using LUKS - what is the actual correct order of operations? I created /etc/dracut.conf to plug in UKI and CryptSEtup prior to emerging the kernel binary and dracut and got a metric ton of errors for doing that. I don't know why, but deleting it till after emerging dracut/kernel-bin seemed to not cause complaints
   

Hey everyone - recently a competitor has been list bombing our newsletter hard. 99.9% of the bots that are signing up for our newsletter are from foreign countries (Not the USA). Is there any way I can set up a segment to capture EVERY profile/email from a country thats NOT the USA? Please let me know your thoughts!

I live in Colorado, USA. My wife and I listed our condo for sale in early March and accepted an offer of 325k. While under contract a major wind storm removed roof shingles and we reported it to the HOA the day it happened. Nothing done for 3 weeks and during that period a major thunderstorm came and dumped water into our condo. Whole ceiling has water damage and since the roof is slanted the water ran between the ceiling and roof into our walls. While the roof was still missing shingles we contacted multiple roofers to see if we could pay for a patch but they stated the roof is completed failed from a major hail storm a year ago and the roof was also installed incorrectly. Roofers also said they would not work on the roof for legal reasons since they were not approved by the HOA.
We then had a lawyer write a letter requesting action and got nothing from the HOA. It’s been 2 months since that letter was sent and still the HOA won’t talk to us. Their lawyers have also not responded at all. HOA sent out unqualified people to patch roof and have since found out water is still slowly leaking in.
Since the roof was patched our buyer requested water remediation and drywall repair and since our HOA went silent and we are trying to close the sale we contacted our homeowners insurance. Insurance said sure we will cover it and we didn’t want to file a claim but we just wanted to be done with the condo. Water remediation comes in and starts demolition work this week and once they open the ceiling it’s mold through the roof and ceiling. Telling us they cannot keep working unless the roof is completely replaced, mold remediated, and then dry wall can be installed.
Also the roof was patched and the whole ceiling was replaced a year ago and the HOA contractors lied and said it could just be dry wall repair and just covered up the mold. It took us over 8 months to get the HOA to fix the ceiling the first time while water continued to pour in and damage our condo. So this is the second time this has happened in 2-3 years.
Condo is valued at 325k and our buyer just walked away. We cannot list for sale again until roof is completely replaced and water remediation and dry wall repair is completed. We disclosed everything to our buyer and they stayed with us as long as possible but finally decided to walk away today. All wrong doing was do by the HOA board and management company for negligence and unqualified contractors completing poor work.
New roof was quoted at 50k Water remediation and drywall repair quoted at 20k
What legal action can my wife and I take against the HOA board and management company for clear negligence, damages, and because of that negligence the resulting sale of our condo falling through?

Hey all, I'm just getting started with grafana/telegraf and I'm most familiar with mysql as a db so I decided to use that. I've had mostly success getting telegraf setup on multiple PCs in my home and writing to a sql db. But I see occasionally on different PCs the data stops flowing in and when I view the telegraf.log I see errors such as:

If you or a loved one are 💯% disabled? You should consider applying for SSA disability benefits.
All SSA disability programs have the same criteria in regards to eligibility. If unable to work because of a medical / psychological condition, you are eligible for SSA disability benefits.
■ You have to be 💯% disabled (SSA does not award benefits for partial disabilities).
■ Unable to work.
■ Have a disability that will last for at least a year or end in your death.

We pay disability benefits to people who can't work because they have a medical condition that's expected to last at least one year or result in death. Federal law requires this very strict definition of disability. While some programs give money to people with partial disability or short-term disability, we do not.

Education

Continuing your education is a great way to learn.
You can go to school online and not even leave your home. Take a class here and there. Go to school at 3:00 am on a Wednesday or 4:00 pm on a Saturday.
There are no worries about parking, transportation, or rushing to make it to a class from your job.
Some states offer free college tuition for the first two years. There are other charges like room and board, textbooks and transportation (which will need to be paid for out of pocket).
Apply for Pell Grants or other types of assistance. Ask the school for whatever other programs may be avaliable to you.

We decided we needed to move when we noticed that the community we lived in did not provide the support we needed to have a better life.
We wanted to move to a location that offered exposure to better healthcare, health insurance, housing and paratransit services.
So?
Make a list of items that are important to you and your family. Rank them in order of importance.
Remember? Each community is different and offers different services.
Each jurisdiction has a Chamber of Commerce page or other similar resource that lists issues you might be interested in.
I searched the internet, made lists, and came up with the following resources (presented in alphabetical order) that were important to our family. You and your family might have other criteria.

(1) Helping Hands

Helping Hands Action Group monitors the benefits landscape for updates and changes to policies and programs. Depending on the jurisdiction? They offer transportation and other services. You should check 12345 Helping Hands in your area.

(2) Medicaid Expansion

The Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) Medicaid expansion expanded Medicaid coverage to nearly all adults with incomes up to 138% of the Federal Poverty Level ($20,783 for an individual in 2024) and provided states with an enhanced federal matching rate (FMAP) for their expansion populations.

To date, 41 states (including DC) have adopted the Medicaid expansion and 10 states have not adopted the expansion. Current status for each state is based on KFF tracking and analysis of state expansion activity.

(3) Paratransit / Transportation

Another thing you should consider adding to the list? Check to see what type of transportation services are offered.
You never have to worry about parking, blizzards, running out of fuel or parking meter money, taffic or anything else that would be a hindrance.
If your community has bus routes? You might have paratransit services available to you.
The fair is reasonable (much better than ubers, taxis or something else).
You do not need to be in a wheelchair for paratransit services.
The driver will walk you to and from the door of the building (your home and the appointment and vice versa).
You can use the services for anything you want to, such as vists to:

beauty parlors	parks
community events	physical therapy
library visits	school events
medical appts	shopping excursions
movies	veterinarian appts
museums	volunteer work

Anything you can think of - it is such a blessing.
I have lived in areas that had paratransit and areas that did not offer paratransit. It makes a huge difference in your sense of independence to be able to attend appointments and go places you need to. Without the interference of worrying about reliable transportation.

(4) Social Security Taxes
