Personality: Rango is a Duplicitous man. To the people of 5-star Island, he is both an idiot and a prankster, always wearing a goofy smile and making light of himself. However, to his enemies, he is known as a cruel man. He is known to "prank", however these gags far more violent.
Skills: An engineer, Rango tends to invent and modify whatever he finds an interest in. He is also a skilled interrogator, and uses his engineering know-how as a means to gather information.
Occupation: Rango is in charge of the Security of an island called 5-star Island, largely serving as the sheriff and prison warden of this island.
Abilities
Fishman Karate: Rango is rather proficient at Fishman Karate, however he is in no way considered an expert.Weapons/Equipment: Rango's favorite weapon is a harpoon spear, which he uses in lieu of a trident. He keeps this stored in a small satchel which has infinite storage space (More on this in the Devil Fruit sections)
He also possesses a revolver that he himself developed. Rather than firing bullets, however, it can fire any fluid with the force and power greater than that of a cannon. It possesses an improved iron sight for accuracy, as well as a longer barrel. Rango is known to have deadly accuracy with this weapon
Inherent Traits: As a clownfish fishman, Rango is naturally immune to the poisons of Anemone. He is also passively resistant to most other types of poisons, primarily those found in sea life. This resistance has allowed him to develop a symbiotic relationship with an Anemone he named "Noodle" (because it kinda looks like a bowl of ramen)
"Noodle": Noodle is a sentient anemone that sticks to Rango. While it cannot speak, it evidently communicates to Rango in some way. The Anemone seems to have a serious personality, being the voice of reason to Rango's erratic behavior, and actively chastising him when he "Misbehaves".
Interestingly, however, Noodles connection to Rango grants it a level of control over Rango's body. At times, especially when he is unconscious, Noodle will take over and take Rango to safety. This symbiosis has proved especially useful when fleeing under water, as noodle will Drag Rango away through a seabed in a pinch.
Otherwise, Noodle almost exists as an extension of Rango, its tendrils being used as extra arms most of the time. Noodle emits an "Electrotoxin", which is to say that contact with the tendrils will both electrocute and Paralyze a living target
Haki: Observation and limited armament.
Devil Fruit: The Up Up fruit
Rango has eaten the Up Up fruit, a devil fruit that allows him to enhance anything he wants. This is done by creating cyan Arrow-shaped beams. When an object is struck, an arrow pointing upward will be embedded on their body. The "Strength" of the upgrade is directly related to the length of the arrow.
Rango uses this fruit to enhance weaponry, as well as turn normally harmless items into weaponry. For example, he may Upgrade the sharpness and hardness of a toy sword, making it comparable to a high-grade blade. Or he may upgrade an innocuous object like a playing card or Billiard Ball to turn them into deadly projectiles
A weakness of this ability is that an individual can only be upgraded once at a time. Further upgrades will require removing the original and replacing it. However, the scope and scale of an upgrade can encompass multiple aspects, so long as they have some relation. Further, Rango must choose what he upgrades. If he is not aware of something, he cannot upgrade it. This requires him to have a passing knowledge of whatever he is enhancing.
Releasing an upgrade will return the target to their original state
Techniques
All applications of upgrade involve Rango targeting and enhancing a certain aspect of a person, it Even the person as a whole.Monster-Grade - A technique that is largely used on animals, although it can also be utilized on Zoan-type or humanoid beings. This enhancement amplifies the animalistic properties of a target, turning them into "Yuuma" (jp) or "Cryptids" (en)
Servant-Grade - This is technically not a separate upgrade, but instead an Inherent property of the technique. Any target upgraded by Rango can have their body or mind hijacked by him, forcing them into fulfilling his commands.
Rango has utilized this ability to enslave criminals on his island, forcing them into becoming servants as part of a luxury resort.
As a side effect of this control, individuals will have glowing purple eyes.
Devil-Grade - Rango enhances the devil fruit of a target. This will either enhance the element of a user in the case of element-type fruits or provide an additional property for other such fruits. (Zoan upgrades will apply the Monster-Grade effect)
Health-Grade - An ability that is technically split into two. The first is Recovery Enhancement. This ability will grant an individual a passive ability to heal and mend wounds and injuries. This is rather slow, however, and will generally take a few hours to a day to complete depending on the injury. The second is Full Recovery, In which Rango will "Upgrade" a target to full health, regardless of injury or cause. However, because this change is a result of the upgrade, and not a side bonus as the other, once this upgrade is released, a target will return to their injured state. Generally speaking, this is only best in an emergency.
Stolen-Grade - An offshoot of "Servant-Grade", Rango uses his upgrade ability to hijack an object or weapon that traditionally cannot be used by individuals other than the original user.
Presently, Rango has used this ability to "Steal" a mirror owned by Brulee, granting him free access to her mirror dimension without her knowledge.
Castle-Grade - An upgrade that enhances the natural defense of a target
Hyper-Grade - An Upgrade that enhances the natural speed of a target
Ballistic-Grade - By upgrading a projectile attack, Rango can enhance its power and force of impact. Largely speaking, he uses this mostly on bullets to grant the power of a cannon
Split-Grade - A technique that allows Rango to bypass the original limitation of his fruit. He will split the upgrade into two branches of a whole, allowing him to upgrade multiple related aspects, but at half the original efficacy. This results in the arrow on a target branching into two separate arrows.
Downgrade - an inversion of his ability done by upgrading his own fruit. This allows Rango to instead reduce or weaken aspects of a target, such as their durability or speed.
Equipment
Rango has a series of equipment that he has enhanced to have useful propertiesMirror Portal: A mirror stolen from Brulee. This allows Rango to access his own section of the Mirror dimension. However, he can only enter an exit this section through this mirror, and does not have access to any other nearby mirrors.
Infinite Sachel: A satchel enhanced to have storage space equivalent to that of a large crate. Rango uses this satchel to store his armory of weapons.
Trace-A-Rang: A boomerang that is enhanced to lock onto a target and strike them, and then afterward always return to the user. This makes for the perfect projectile weapon, although it isn't very strong damage-wise.
Boost Rations: Small packages of rations that are enhanced to provide increased vitality and health when eaten.
Perfect Gauntlet: A pair of gauntlets enhanced with the strongest defense enhancements possible. This makes these gauntlets nearly unbreakable.

When she wasn't even in kindergarten and I was, we were first assaulted by an older boy who lived in the apartments with us. I didn't know what was happening and I didn't help her enough and it haunts me. I didn't know what it was when it was me, but being forced to stay in that room and watch it happen to here I knew it was wrong and I was frozen and I regret it everyday. We moved right before i was in second grade and her kindergarten, and not even a year later the same things happened by a different older boy for almost a year and a half. I helped her this time and I tried to shield it from her as much as I could and take the worst of it, but it didn't stop it completely and I feel awful for it everyday. Im 16 now but it scares me so bad, I couldn't stop it then and I'm scared if something happens again I won't be able to. I wonder if it's my fault at all????? I currently go to a public high school but am planning to move 40 mins away somewhere around the second semester of next year. The next school year I am planning to go to a private school but my point is I don't want to transfer half way through the year and I feel like online school isn't good. I did online school in 8th grade and I felt low motivation and felt like I wasn't learning what I should've been and the learning was watered down. Can anyone change my mind?

hi everyone,
ive been experiencing this weird dream like stage for quite some time now, i think it started when i was in grade 9 and im in grade 12 now. ive researched this like a quadrillion times over the years and my best guess is derealization, but i dont know what to do.
Ive just been feeling like everything is hazy and dream like every day and for now ive just been living through it. In the earlier stages and also time to time i start to panic and think about it too much but recently ive just been trying to live with it. Everything feels like its just going by so fast and i just cant stay in the moment. I feel like my joy in that moment lasts for like a millisecond and it zooms past. Sometimes it scares me because i feel like my life is moving waaay too fast and i just watch it go. I cant remember what it feels like to not be derealizing.
something that i feel that is also feeding into this is my obsession with time. ive only realized this now but i am so hyperfixated on time to the point where every moment i just think about how im never going to experience this moment again, and i wonder if thats a factor to this? particularly in gym class i would be having fun and then i snap into my thoughts thinking like "this is going to be over in 2 seconds" or things like "u will never get that second back its already in the past" or "i cant go back the time is already over" and i would always ask how much time we have left in class to try and pace myself? to how much i can enjoy my time? but then i would be sad because its almost over. Im always thinking things like "that thing i just did, i will never get a chance to do that again ever in my life"
and its just constant and i feel like my mind is just always foggy. whenever i have a chance to even think, my mind would resort to "ur never going to be doing this at this exact time at this exact place with this person at this age" blablabla it can go on and on and on. ive just learned to live with it and it freaks me out sometimes, but what can i do. i try to ground myself and just try to get in the moment but i just cant. ive been experiencing this weird dream like stage for quite some time now, i think it started when i was in grade 9 and im in grade 12 now. ive researched this like a quadrillion times over the years and my best guess is derealization, but i dont know what to do.
Ive just been feeling like everything is hazy and dream like every day and for now ive just been living through it. In the earlier stages and also time to time i start to panic and think about it too much but recently ive just been trying to live with it. Everything feels like its just going by so fast and i just cant stay in the moment. I feel like my joy in that moment lasts for like a millisecond and it zooms past. Sometimes it scares me because i feel like my life is moving waaay too fast and i just watch it go. I cant remember what it feels like to not be derealizing.
something that i feel that is also feeding into this is my obsession with time. ive only realized this now but i am so hyperfixated on time to the point where every moment i just think about how im never going to experience this moment again, and i wonder if thats a factor to this? particularly in gym class i would be having fun and then i snap into my thoughts thinking like "this is going to be over in 2 seconds" or things like "u will never get that second back its already in the past" or "i cant go back the time is already over" and i would always ask how much time we have left in class to try and pace myself? to how much i can enjoy my time? but then i would be sad because its almost over. Im always thinking things like "that thing i just did, i will never get a chance to do that again ever in my life"
and its just constant and i feel like my mind is just always foggy. whenever i have a chance to even think, my mind would resort to "ur never going to be doing this at this exact time at this exact place with this person at this age" blablabla it can go on and on and on. ive just learned to live with it and it freaks me out sometimes, but what can i do. i try to ground myself and just try to get in the moment but i just cant. People often ask about the legitimacy and/or safety of a number of websites which sell large resin statues. The more commonly-asked of those deal primarily in resins from studios which do not have a license from the Japanese IP holders to produce merchandise. Therefore links to those sites are not permitted here. Another sign is if MyFigureCollection doesn't list the either the statue, its manufacturer, or the shop it's being sold on.

My Figure Collection is like MyAnimeList... but for figures! Their database includes thousands of items which been produced during the last couple of decades, along with reviews of shops and other helpful articles. One can also list their own collection and post gallery photos.

That’s going to depend a lot on what works for you, but most people around here buy them from Amiami, Big in Japan, Hobby Search, HobbyLink Japan, or Tokyo Otaku Mode. If none of those work for you for whatever reason, there’s a list of reputable retailers in the sidebar that you can check out at any time. Be extra careful when ordering figures from websites like Amazon or ebay, as there are a lot of bootlegs on those sites. Don’t be afraid to ask in our Bootleg Megathread if you’re unsure.
2. What differences are there between the shipping options I get from most Japanese shops?
Below is a rundown of the main shipping choices you’ll get at most retailers. Keep in mind that if an order is large enough you will be forced to use one of the more expensive options, as SAL shipments have lower size and weight restrictions.

Most Japanese shops charge you once the item is in stock and ready for shipment. When that happens, they will send you an email asking for payment. Some shops (mostly overseas ones), will allow you to pay for the item up front though, if you’d like. A few with that option are:

B. Forwarding Services: A forwarder is someone who you ship an exclusive item to so that they can forward the package on to you, usually for a flat fee + shipping. When using a forwarder you still make the purchase yourself, and enter their address into the shipping field. When the box arrives at the forwarder they will then stick your address onto the package and send it on its way.

C. Proxy Services: With a proxy, you tell them what the item you’re looking for is and they will purchase it in your stead. This is handy for when a company doesn’t accept foreign credit cards, or you’re having trouble navigating a Japanese website.

7. I see a bunch of really cheap figures that ship from China on ebay. Are those okay to buy?
Generally, no. They’re most likely bootlegs. If you want a second opinion on that, feel free to ask in the Bootleg Megathread that’s always stickied at the top of the sub.
8. What’s a bootleg, and how can I avoid buying them?
A bootleg is a counterfeit figure often made using rejected molds of the official product. They are usually priced significantly lower than the genuine article, and in order to make their profit, bootleggers use lower quality materials and have less attention to detail- resulting in a substandard figure.
The Bootleg Megathread that I mentioned in question 7 is a great tool to avoid buying any bootlegs. It has a few tips and tricks to avoiding them to begin with, and a few more on how to spot them if you’re worried you might already own one.
9. Does anyone know when figure X is going to be released? How do I know if it was delayed?
My Figure Collection (sometimes referred to as MFC) does an excellent job of staying on top of information like release dates and delays. If you’re curious about an upcoming figures release date, check there first. This information can be found directly under the “Releases” section on a figure’s entry. If you only see a month and a year in that section, it means the release date has not yet been announced by the manufacturer, and there is still a chance the figure could be delayed.
If you make an account on MFC you can also subscribe to comments, changes, and pictures via a checkbox on the right hand side of a figure’s listing. Subscribing to any of these things will allow MFC to send you an email anytime the subscription in question updates. Subscribing to “changes” is a great way to keep up with release dates and delays, among other things.
10. The figure I want is long sold out at normal retailers! What’s the best place to pick it up in the aftermarket?
A list of reputable retailers can be found under the “Shops” section of the /AnimeFigures sidebar. They all sell legitimate products, and many of them also sell figures second hand. However, the most frequently suggested second hand sites are Mandarake and Amiami- who has a preowned section that they update every night save Sundays and Japanese holidays around 1PM JST and again around 6PM JST.
AmiAmi grades their pre-owned items on a letter scale. The general consensus from buyers is that their ratings are conservative, so unless the item and/or packaging is specifically indicated as having significant flaws, pre-owned items from them are usually in at least as good a condition as their rating suggests.
Note: When you search Mandarake, you’ll get the best results by using the Japanese characters for whatever you are searching. If you don’t know them, you can find them on MFC by clicking on any of the “details” in that figure’s listing.
11. Amiami has a figure I’m interested in labeled as “For sale in Japan only”. Does this mean I can’t order it without a proxy or forwarder?
No, you can still order it. Amiami’s English site has that warning on many items, and it’s mostly meant to inform you that this product was made for a Japanese market, and as such, will have Japanese speaking/writing in it- so don’t expect any instructions to be in English. If Amiami doesn’t want foreigners buying a certain product, they won’t even list it on their English site.

If you don’t live near an Ikea, Amazon has a few display options, though they are more expensive. Also keep an eye on your local Craigslist (or your country’s equivalent) and stores near you that are closing up.
13. What lighting do you guys recommend?
Ikea’s Dioder LED strips were discontinued after a long run. A current version is the Vattensten, if you're inclined to buy your case and lights at the same time.
LED strips have become very commonly available in recent years; most hardware and home furnishing stores carry a selection now. Just make sure that the lights don’t get too hot!
14. What are those clear plastic boxes that I see under everyone’s figures in their collection posts, and where can I get them?

None of the major figure companies (Alter, Kotobukiya, Good Smile Company, etc.) will take a commission for a single figure. This thread has a few websites in it that you can check out, or you can look into garage kits. Some kit painters would be willing to resculpt, frankenstein together, or otherwise modify kits for the right price.

21. Everyone’s excited about something called Wonfes….. what the heck is that?!
WonFes (short for Wonder Festival) is a biannual figure expo where many figure producers (both large and small) show off new sculpts and updates to figures already under way. Most companies save their most exciting announcements for WonFes, so we all look forward to the expo whenever it rolls around! Winter Wonder Festival is usually held in February, while Summer Wonder Festival is usually in July. The event has also spread to Shanghai, in the late spring.
22. One or two (or 15) figures were announced at WonFes that I’m really excited about! How can I keep track of their progress once the event is over?
MFC is always really quick about getting new WonFes announcements (or any others throughout the year, for that matter) listed in their database, so we suggest using that. To find a figure from the event you can search any number of things, including the name of the character or the name of the show. You can also use the tag search to search “WonderFestival 20xx_[season]” to see all items announced at that event.

What’s the best place to buy my anime figures from?That’s going to depend a lot on what works for you, but most people around here buy them from Amiami, Big in Japan, Hobby Search, HobbyLink Japan, or Tokyo Otaku Mode. Below is a rundown of the main shipping choices you’ll get at most retailers. Keep in mind that if an order is large enough you will be forced to use one of the more expensive options, as SAL shipments have lower size and weight restrictions.
- Unregistered SAL: Sometimes referred to as uSAL, is usually the cheapest method. It does not come with any tracking or insurance. Usually takes up 2-4 weeks for delivery.
- Registered SAL: Sometimes referred to as rSAL, is insured for the declared value up to 6,000 yen. It comes with a tracking number and usually takes 2-4 weeks for delivery.
- EMS: This method of shipping is much faster than either SAL options, usually arriving within a week of shipment. EMS shipments are insured for the declared value up to 2,000,000 yen.
- Airmail
- E-packet
- Surface: Shops don't offer this very often. It's an actual cargo ship and slow as a result.
- DHL: Becoming more available as an alternative to EMS on AmiAmi and other sites. Can be less expensive than EMS and of comparable speed, but may be more reliant on the specific geographical area being shipped to. The price is also determined by the size of the box. Offers their own tracking.
Most shops will ask you to pay shipping on a per-order basis, but here are some that will allow combined shipping:
- Amiami: You can combine orders here, as long as the orders ship in the same month. It doesn’t matter if the item is new or preowned. Any preorders that are set for that month can also be combined with other orders for that month. However, be aware that if the preorder gets delayed, Amiami will remove that item from that month’s shipment and place it on a new order. To combine orders on Amiami, use the “Combine Orders” feature under “My Account”.
- Hobby Search: Hobby Search will let you combine orders that release in the same month, but you cannot combine in stock items with preorders. If you want to combine multiple preorders, or multiple in stock items, you can do so using the “Order Recombination” feature on your account page.
- HobbyLink Japan: At HLJ, you have the option to send paid orders to their “Private Warehouse”, where you can store them for up to 2 months. When you’re ready to ship the items, you simply select which items to ship and HLJ will combine them into one shipment for you. To use this, just select the “Private Warehouse” option as shipping when you order.
4. When will I get charged for my preorder?

When using Amiami, try their Small Air Packet option. It comes with tracking, gets there in about the same time as EMS, and is better at avoiding customs.
- European Union: As of 1st July 2021, VAT has to be paid on all goods imported from outside of the EU. Retailers are supposed charge VAT for purchases under €150, however many Japanese retailers currently do not, so VAT will be charged when your order arrives in the EU. Orders that are >€150, VAT and duty will be charged by your local customs.
- UK: As of 1st January 2021, VAT is to be charged by retailers for orders <£135. However, customs isn't currently charging VAT on parcels valued at <£135, even if the VAT hasn't been paid. Goods >£135 will have their VAT and duty calculated and charged by customs.
- Mexico: Minimum declared value for customs fees is USD$300 for shipments by post, and USD$50 for shipments by courier.
- United States: A shipment has to have a declared value of USD$2,000 before customs starts hitting you with fees, so you most likely won’t have to worry about them at all.

- Detolf: Formerly the go-to choice for inexpensive display cabinetry, the Detolf was first made flimsier around 2020 and then essentially phased out of the name, to become the BLÅLIDEN. Knockoff versions of widely-varying quality are commonly found on other shopping sites these days, though.
If you don’t live near an Ikea, Amazon has a few display options, though they are more expensive. Also keep an eye on your local Craigslist (or your country’s equivalent) and stores near you that are closing up.

- Keeping it sealed can actually damage your figure. PVC figures usually have something called plasticizer in them, and that plasticizer needs to be able to breath. If a PVC figure isn’t exposed to oxygen, after a period of time the plasticizer starts to break down and form a sticky substance on the surface of the figure. Simply opening your figures and taking them out of the box prevents this from happening. If you happen to find plasticizer goo on one of your figures, Kahotan has a handy guide for dealing with it.
- Unlike some other figure markets, keeping an anime figure sealed won’t raise its value by a whole lot. In fact, because of the plasticizer problem mentioned above, your figure could actually be in better condition if you open it versus keeping it sealed.
Finding the Right Figure(s) for You
16. What are "scales" and "prizes"? What is the difference between them?Those are classifications for figures based on a few factors.
- "Prizes" are generally more simply produced figures which are intended to be given as prizes for playing arcade games. They are inexpensive and lack the detail of scale figures, though some prize figure lines have standouts which may approach lower-end scales in quality. That is uncommon and often depends on the individual figure.
- "Scales" are called such because they are nominally designed to be proportional to the dimensions of the character which they are based on. They are generally of much better manufacture and materials than prize figures, allowing for more detail in painting, accessories, or complex poses.
- "Trading" figures appear in gashapon machines or as blind boxes on shop counters, often as sets which include multiple characters. As suggested by the class name, the randomness encourages trading. They are usually very inexpensively-produced, though as with prizes, some series are better than others.
- "Non-scale" encompasses a variety of other categories. It is often used to describe poseable figure lines such as figma and Nendoroids.

WonFes (short for Wonder Festival) is a biannual figure expo where many figure producers (both large and small) show off new sculpts and updates to figures already under way. Most companies save their most exciting announcements for WonFes, so we all look forward to the expo whenever it rolls around! Winter Wonder Festival is usually held in February, while Summer Wonder Festival is usually in July. The event has also spread to Shanghai, in the late spring.
22. One or two (or 15) figures were announced at WonFes that I’m really excited about! How can I keep track of their progress once the event is over?
MFC is always really quick about getting new WonFes announcements (or any others throughout the year, for that matter) listed in their database, so we suggest using that. To find a figure from the event you can search any number of things, including the name of the character or the name of the show. You can also use the tag search to search “WonderFestival 20xx_[season]” to see all items announced at that event.

I just learned that I passed my civil FE on my first try! I am 5 months out of university so I will say a lot of the information was still fresh on my mind. However, I wanted to make sure I was as confident as I could be going into the exam. I wanted to come on here and post how I studied in the hopes it may help someone. Overall I studied for a little over a month (studying for a couple hours a day after work and some on weekends).
First, I watched all of the Mark Mattson fe review YouTube videos. I watched one a day starting with the topics I was least confident in. Instead of trying the problems before watching the videos, I simply worked along with him, pausing as needed. I also used other random YouTube videos on topics I needed a little more help understanding.
Next, I looked through all of the relevant sections of the handbook and did my best to get very familiar with it.
Next, I got a month subscription to Prep Fe, I took practice exams (not timed) for each category at least twice and then focused on the categories I did worse in. I did this for about a week and a half.
Next, I took the NCEES fe civil practice exam. I tried to do this timed but ended up getting interrupted a couple of times. Once I finished, I graded it and made sure I understood the ones I got wrong.
Next, on my last week of studying, I took advantage of the Prep FE timed practice exams, I did a good bit of those just to get used to the pace.
Lastly, I went back over the NCEES practice exam and just looked briefly over any of the subjects I was still iffy in (did this the day before the exam).
Another side note I wanted to add, I have always been a very slow test taker (I like to double check my work). I ended up finishing the exam with only two min. left. My biggest advice for timing would be to immediately skip/flag any question you don't automatically know how to do after reading it once. You will have time to go back at the end and that is where you can take your time on questions you at least somewhat know how to do. In total I would say that I flagged about 30 questions and managed to get most of them after taking a second look once I got the easy ones out of the way. Also, know how to use your calculator effectively!! (you'd be amazed how many questions you can get from just typing it in your calculator). Lastly, educated guessing is useful! If you are completely lost on a question try to think about it logically before clicking a random choice, I noticed this while doing practice problems and applied it to questions I was completely lost on the exam.

Officers reading their newspapers would shoot a look at their comrades before receiving a knowing and acknowledging look back. Pre-briefing meetings often took an off-topic turn as someone would bring up current events and the whispers and hushed voices began. Perhaps someone would bring up the actions of the Black Shirts and reminisce about their actions during the Revolution and how the revolutionary militias and extremist fascists seemed awfully similar. Sometimes the room would go silent when an Administration appointee or outwardly supportive serviceman would walk in and the huddled soldiers would quickly and quietly disperse. Still, it was business as usual in the Pentagon and on all the bases that Gavin would visit on tours. Then the chaos of the 1948 Farmer-Labor Convention happened, followed by the streetfighting, followed by the reelection of the President, the arrests of political opponents, and the revelations preceding the impeachment attempt. Slowly but surely the number of disaffected servicemen rose with each incident and some commanders were beginning to give uncomfortable, but necessary, reminders to their men on the apolitical nature of the military and its members, even if they were beginning to lose faith in that too. The Pentagon was abuzz with quiet discontent. Even if it was unconfirmed it was clear to most servicemen that Lindbergh and La Follette had murdered General Smedley Butler or were at the very least deeply involved in the cover-up. Once again paramilitary forces were roaming the streets of America. Once again opponents of a political philosophy were in real, mortal danger. Once again American democracy was under threat from the inside. Gavin’s generation of servicemen had marched off to war to fight for something that the La Follette administration did not care about. The current Officer Corps of the United States Military idolized Smedley Butler and John Lejeune and every affront against their names and legacies was duly, but as of yet silently, noted. The Lower Enlisted and especially Non-Commissioned Officer Corps also looked on at the proceedings with great interest as it seemed that their sacrifices in the Revolution and Pacific War were being forgotten and their authority handed over to a bunch of undisciplined and hyper-partisan Black Shirts. The uneasy glances abounded in the War Department. Outspoken fascists and La Follette supporters who seemed to have forgotten their oaths were increasingly shunned and effectively exiled by their comrades and superior officers. James M. Looking out at the skyline of the home of sacred American democracy, it very suddenly became very clear that the union was approaching a precipice. It was quite possible that the Administration might call upon the military to enforce its will should they take a step to alter the very fabric of the United States. If and when that time comes… what would the military’s response be? Not the reaction from the higher-ups, the ones appointed by the politicians, but the reaction from the men? The Officers and Enlisted who had watched their buddies die overseas as they fought for some vague notion of advancing the cause of freedom? The Officers and Enlisted who had set out to defend America during the Revolution? Personally, Gavin knew what he would do, and he had a general feeling about what the rest of the men of the military might do. But the revelation had forced the thought into his mind and he knew he would never be able to shake it again. He sat down at his desk once again and began to outline a list of names. Once he had finished, he looked it over again, committed it to memory, took out his lighter, and burned the paper. He would set about doing what he did best. Organizing and planning. He wasn’t sure just how paranoid the Administration was, but he would leave no paper trail, only speak to those he was absolutely sure he knew the sentiments of, and take every precaution as he made feelers. Everything was going good in life. I had a good grade in my school, I had recently just gotten myself a new car, it was all amazing. One day as I was cruising down the road towards my home, some butthole cut in front of me, causing me to miss my turn. Oh well, it’s fine, I’ll just take a little detour. Next thing I know, I was on an unfamiliar road near the coast. I was low on gas and getting hungry, so I was looking for places to stop. I passed by a place called “Yumenosaki Private Academy” a little while back, but the security there told me to screw off, so I kept driving. I eventually found a place to stop and got out of my car and read a sign called “Ensemble Square”. “God dammit” I say to myself as I realize I’m at some weird idol kid place and about to run out of gas and starving. Frustrated, I start walking around until it happened.
I laid my sorrowful eyes upon the most absolutely beautiful young man EVER! His beautiful flowing red hair with completely white streaks, his gleaming golden eyes shot right into my heart, the beautiful pentagram necklace hanging from his neck, the light blue uniform with the grey plaid pants…god he was so beautiful. My ugly ass immediately fell in love with him on first sight. Panicked, I tripped over the curb and fell to the ground, scraping my knee up. The pain however was drowned out by the burning love for that beautiful young man. I looked right into his eyes for a second and the pain evaporated. HE THEN APPROACHED ME AS IF IT WAS DIVINE INTERVENTION! His voice was like the sound of an angel, descending from heaven to save my sorry ass and my heap of junk car. “Ohhhhh! That loOKS like a nasty mess of a woUND, let me heal that for yOU~” he said. I was in awe. He twisted his fingers in a magical way and before I knew it, my wound was healed and my car had been refueled. I wanted to smooch him on the cheek right then and there but by the time I looked back up at his truly angelic face he was gone. I quickly yelled thanks and got back into my car.
The drive home was very euphoric as I had just seen a gift from heaven. The most beautiful man on the whole wide world. I had final exams the next day but I couldn’t sleep at all. I could not stop thinking about him. I went onto the school’s website and found his name. Natsume Sakasaki. I had to find him again. I had to date him. I had to be his.
The next day I failed my final exams because of sleep deprivation. However that did not matter to me anymore. My parents had called me a disappointment since day one so what did it matter? After school that day I got back in my car and parked outside Yumenosaki Private Academy. I waited for him to come out and when he did, my heart shattered into ten-thousand pieces. There was my love from heaven KISSING ANOTHER GUY! He was passionately kissing some dark blue haired glasses wearing motherfudger. My eyes turned red with rage. How could he claim MY gift from heaven?
I went home that night with a plan.
The next day, I set out again, however I didn’t go to school. I immediately drove all the way to the Suou residence. I threw some C4 at the doors and blew them clean off. Once they were gone, I moved in and went to hunt down the leader. After using a tranquilizer dart to make sure he couldn’t defeat me, I immediately stole all the money I could find and left, immediately dashing for the airport. After buying a ticket to Russia, I immediately got on a plane and set off. I came back 3 days later with 80 grams of enriched Uranium-235. Once I secured my funny glowing green ore, I built as many missiles as I could and started looking on the dark web for anyone with the name Tsumugi. Once I had located everyone with the name, I pressed the big red button and launched all my missiles. Explosions were heard all across Japan and the military came after me. I sped back to Yumenosaki Private Academy and saw him. However, instead of kissing me and giving me head pats, he fricking stabbed me. I woke up a few days later in prison where I am writing this from.

First Quarter 2024 Highlights:
Odyssey Mine (3.0% NSR over the northern portion of the mine): Agnico Eagle Mines Limited ("Agnico Eagle") owns and operates the Canadian Malartic Complex that is one of the world’s largest gold mining operations and is comprised of the open-pit Canadian Malartic mine and the underground Odyssey mine. The Canadian Malartic complex will progressively transition from open pit to underground mining between 2023 and 2028. On April 25, 2024, Agnico Eagle announced its first quarter 2024 results, including an update that construction at the Odyssey mine is progressing well. Ramp development continued to exceed Agnico Eagle’s target and shaft sinking improved during the quarter. The shaft is expected to provide hoisting capacity by mid-2025, six months earlier than previously planned and will provide added development and production flexibility. As at March 31, 2024 the shaft has reached a depth of approximately 452 meters and Agnico Eagle expects to complete excavation of the shaft in 2027. Agnico Eagle further outlined a summary of its first quarter operating results at the Odyssey mine. At the Barnat pit, good equipment availability and productivity, drove solid operational performance despite challenging weather conditions. The step-out surface drilling program intercepted the targeted Corona dike at a depth of approximately 900 meters downhole and returned 4.7 meters at 24.90 g/t Au, which it stated confirmed the continuity of high-grade mineralization and paving the way for underground platform development in the future to convert more material to the west. In its management's discussion and analysis for the three months ended March 31, 2024, Barrick included an update on growth and exploration projects. At Carlin, underground conversion drilling commenced across all sites in the first quarter, with step-out growth drilling expected to commence early in the second quarter at a few key project areas. How I Hope This'll Work:
I currently have materials to make 3 plushies, and there were a lot more than 3 people interested the last time I posted this, so I put together an interest form. This sub moves pretty quickly, so after 4 days, if there are more than 3 people interested, I'll draw 3 by lottery and the rest will go into the pool for a potential second batch. If you want in on this round, fill out the form before 11:59 on Sunday, Central European Summer Time. The form itself will stay open for 2 weeks or until I finally remember to close it, whichever takes longer, in case anyone else wants in on that second batch.
The normal price would be 90€ + shipping (from Germany), just based on how long they take to make, but I made some minor boo-boos in the hoof embroidery for 2 of them. So! Depending on how nice of hooves you want, the two "B-grades" will be 80€ ea + shipping. Shipping to the US/worldwide is usually 25€, in-EU shipping is of course cheaper.
Once the names are drawn and the customization options picked out, I'll do my best to get them done and sent out that week - but a more pessimistic/realistic turnaround time would be "all 3 done and sent out by June 8th".

The base pattern is a free owl pattern by Choly Knight. So, for the craftily inclined, I'm also publishing the Owlk Pattern modifications I made (with their blessing!). Choly Knight's patterns are extremely thorough and beginner friendly; mine is just a straightforward pattern, but you should be able to swap the pieces out one to one with the originals and have it work. And I'll be checking this thread for questions :)

The colour I used for the body... might have been discontinued 🫠 Really hoping I can source some, but if not, I may have to change colour schemes, or something even more drastic. Which leads me to...

We've had our dog since we got married and she's seen me through two miscarriages, infertility, and a flood. She's 10 now and we were just told that she has congestive heart failure with a grade 4 murmur. She was having trouble breathing two weeks ago and we had to leave her at the emergency vet over night. She got better and is now of several medications (2 for her heart and 1 for fluid in her lungs). Her breathing has been great since. She's playful, alert, and eating very well. We also have a 1 year old pup and they're have a ball.
This morning I don't know what happened she's a small dog (she's a mutt from the shelter but she looks like a jack russell) but she fell/jumped off the bed and we heard her cry like a loud piercing kind of cry and then she stopped crying and stayed in that fallen position (on her side). She was breathing heavy but couldn't move for at least 2 minutes. We picked her and started saying some of her favorite words like treat and outside and weren't getting a reaction like usual. Of course we started panicking, I called work and said I wouldn't be in, we're trying to figure out if it's time to drive the hour to the emergency vet and just like that we started to feed our other dog before we left and she was fine. She got up wagging her tail, excited and ready to eat. I stayed home with her and she's been fine and playful all day. We'll still take her to the vet. But I'm wondering if this is part of her CHF? Is this her getting closer to the end? How do you know if your dog is in pain?
She did something similar years ago where she was standing and didn't move or respond and tipped over, but that lasted seconds and there was no yelping.

Of course we started panicking, I called work and said I wouldn't be in, we're trying to figure out if it's time to drive the hour to the emergency vet and just like that we started to feed our other dog before we left and she was fine. She got up wagging her tail, excited and ready to eat. I stayed home with her and she's been fine and playful all day. We'll still take her to the vet. But I'm wondering if this is part of her CHF? Is this her getting closer to the end? How do you know if your dog is in pain?
She did something similar years ago where she was standing and didn't move or respond and tipped over, but that lasted seconds and there was no yelping.

I’m from california and recently got into Vanderbilt as a transfer. I’ve researched and will be visiting, but won’t have the opportunity to see the school while class is in session and will have to make my ultimate decision without much more information than what I have now. Genuinely not sure how I will make that call.
Purely based on my online research, I’m having a really hard time determining what the vibe of the student body really is.
Talking to people, seems everyone here thinks either thinks 1) it’s purely a frat/tailgate party school or 2) it’s basically the academic equivalent to harvard, just with a happier student body. I’m assuming the truth is somewhere in between, but I have no idea where along that spectrum.
I like having fun, but I’m more serious and academic and am very much a west-coaster, so I’m hoping for it to be closer to the second option (or at least that there would be enough more nerdy-types that I would “find my people”), but please warn me away if this isn’t the case.
I’d be content at a “work hard, play hard” school, but need to make sure the “work hard” element is culturally there also, vs this translating to “party school where people happen to get good grades”. There’s nothing inherently wrong with pure party schools, but that’s not what I’m personally looking for.
Would love to hear your take! Or any other advice/input!

Okay so the title is a teeny bit dramatic seeing as how I didn't fail anything, but I am just really upset at the fact that in my first and second semesters, I have studied super duper hard but have never gotten the best grades, obviously its my study technique but what can I do about it seeing as I desperately wanna improve. Right now I am achieving much better grades using quizlet instead of making physical notes, but surely there has to be other ways to do better.
Any advice to help me improve would be greatly appreciated <3

- If so, then can I transfer in courses from Upper Iowa university for some of the lowe upper level accounting courses and does it appear with a grade on my official transcript? I know Upper Iowa uni has no equivalencies for the accounting courses on Maine street.

- 36 Male, 5'11, 250 lbs. Located in California, USA.
- Types of providers seen/tried: Chiropractor, Physical Therapist, Massage Therapist, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pain Management, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Rheumatologist.
- Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Disk Disease, PTSD (In therapy and medicated 8 years), sleep apnea (on CPAP 5 years), and high cholesterol (On a statin for 5 years).
- Exercise: Stretching and core exercises 3+ times a week. Recently able to walk daily with a cane and a slow/moderate pace for 30+ minutes. Have gone to the gym for years, typically 3x a week for weightlifting and cardio.
- Recent non-drinker, smoked in my 20's but quit. Occasional THC gummy for pain.
- X-Ray and MRI findings below. They are both from this month.

Alignment: Straightening of the normal lumbar curvature
Bone marrow: No marrow edema
Vertebral bodies: Multilevel degenerative changes of the lumbar spine characterized by scattered disc desiccation, osteophyte formation, disc bulges. Level by level discussion of the spinal canal and neural foramina as follows:
L1-L2: No significant neural foraminal or spinal canal stenosis.
L2-L3: No significant neural foraminal or spinal canal stenosis.
L3-L4: Disc bulge. No significant neural foraminal stenosis
L4-L5: Disc bulge with superimposed central disc protrusion. Facet arthrosis. Severe spinal canal stenosis, increased from prior.
L5-S1: Disc bulge and facet arthrosis. Mass effect on traversing nerve roots.
Spinal Canal: Congenitally narrowing of the spinal canal. Conus terminates at the L1 level
Paraspinal Soft Tissues: Atrophy of the paraspinous musculature
XRAY FINDINGS:
There is some persistent very mild levorotatory curvature of the lumbar spine noted on the AP view. On the lateral views, there is some persistent very mild grade 1 retrolisthesis of L4 on L5, which increases slightly with extension and reduces completely with flexion. Lumbar spinal alignment otherwise remains intact, with no fractures or other subluxations evident. There are relatively stable mild degenerative spondylitic type changes noted, again most pronounced at the L4 level. Vertebral body heights and intervertebral disc spaces appear well-maintained. There are no pars defects identified.

I have not been in any accidents. My back has always been sensitive. Starting at age 19, I've had bouts of intense lower back pain that have become almost constant. I was pretty active at the time and about 60 pounds lighter than I am now. About 5 ago (age 31) I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and have received multiple epidural injections. They stopped working, so I was sent to a new Neurosurgeon for a second opinion. He recommended facet joint injections. If needed, he recommended the path forward to potentially be back flexion x-rays for a stability check, nerve ablation, and then back surgery to either decompress or stabilize the spine.
I did the facet joint injections almost a month ago. The facet joint injections worked wonderfully for about a week but the following week, pain built to the point that I was sent to the ED by my Neurosurgeon's nurse. I had severe pain in my lower back and outer-facing portion of the left leg and I'm not sure how I was even walking. I also had some tingling and numbness in my left leg, plus some possible incontinence (#1 and #2. It was just a little bit each time, so I didn't know for sure). I was in the ED for 10 hours for an MRI and a Norco, and was sent home because the spine specialist wouldn't answer his/her pages.
Another nurse from the neurosurgeon called a few days later and recommended I use a cane until I can see the MD or PA for a follow-up. They also ordered spine/back flexion xrays, which only showed minor abnormal movement of the vertebrae. The cane does really help! But unfortunately, if I go without it for even 15 minutes, the pain flares back up again. I don't always need to put my weight on it either. It seems to help me balance.
I just saw the PA yesterday and she did a lengthy physical exam to find out what hurts, check strength, et cetera. She was miffed at my use of a cane and didn't believe the stenosis had anything to do with the pain because "the pain *should* be near my tailbone". The worst pain is in fact from bellybutton-down on my back, then my left buttcheek down to my knee. She prescribed gabapentin and physical therapy even though I've done both before. A lot of us with chronic pain recognize the gabapentin/PT combo late down the line as the professional's kiss-off. She didn't mention any plan of honoring the MD's course of action. I left her office in tears because I didn't feel heard or seen, and hobbled back to my car.

I'm at a loss with how to move forward. I would like some reasonable relief from the pain so that I can go on outings with my family comfortably, get back in the gym (I was going regularly before this most recent incident)or go for a walk without a cane. I would also like to keep up with the spinal stenosis so I don't become paralyzed or incontinent. These are the paths forward I am considering, and would really appreciate some input:
- Stop going to the doctor. Try to manage with the cane and OTC pain relief and THC gummies. Either there's nothing more they can do for me, my symptoms aren't "severe" enough because I can still walk, I'm going to the wrong kind of doctor, or they think I'm a loon.
- Go to PT and take the gabapentin. Whether it works or not, I'll have something to report back to the PA.
- Schedule an appointment with the Neurosurgeon to straighten things out, possibly without seeing the PA again.
- Return to my PCP and get another referral, possibly to a different specialty at his suggestion.

It's a long story but to make it short my son just was added to the school from a different setting so this is the first time that he's actually got into interact with children He's a very intelligent little boy He is autistic high functioning
So I know that the bullying is caused by jealousy. It was little things at first it's not only directed at my child but it's gotten worse since my son scored higher on a math test in this boy did And this boy is a liar but now they might have caught his bullying on camera because he was confronted about the situation and my son didn't help by not giving him a snack when they were handing snacks out so like I told my child that's only going to add fuel to the fire please don't do this you're better than this
Is there anything I can do for this child to not only stop bullying my child but other children as well because this is horrible....
