I have been playing keyboards for a while and I have learned basics of Ableton so far. Now I am interested in synth sounds. I have watched some videos about synthesis types and will continue to learn more, however I need some guidance what steps should I take if I wanted to recreate some synth sound from an old song. Let's say synth from "Just like heaven" by the Cure. I could google that used something specific, one post says, qoute: "The synth in the video is a DX7 but the sound on the record is the EMU Emulator 2 and OMI universe of sounds cd roms. Solina Strings. The D70 in the video above was most likely midi’d to an Oberheim DPX-1 sample playback device that can read Emu, Ensoniq sample disks."
Is there anything I can do with this info? Perhaps there are prepared patch packs for songs like that? We can take some truely classic song, let's say "rebel yell" by Billy Idol. How would you go about recreating that synth sound, let's say for a cover band?

I came across an advert about a used Meade DS2090MAK for sale. The seller provided no information about the scope or the tripod. The mirrors look clean in the photos, the scope is not scuffed.
It's on a computerized tripod with a "Meade Autostar" controller, and I can see that the cable is missing parts of insulation, so it might or might not work.
In the photos the whole setup looks very close (or identical) to what is shown here, here, or here.
I don't care much for GoTo mounts, but the price is 4.5+ lower then the asking price of my next contender, a used Celestron C5 on a "Heavy duty Celestron tripod" (this one). So the price is the main reason I'm posting this.

• Is it even worth trying to find out if the controller / GoTo stuff works, or is the scope not worth it anyway?
• Is 90 mm aperture going to be that much worse than C5's 127 mm? (I guess it is)
• Is is usable if the electronics of the tripod are dead?
• Does the controller use some kind of proprietary cable? The connectors look suspiciously close to RJ45 (Ethernet) or RJ11 (phone line) connectors, so could that be a simple Ethernet patch cable or variation thereof?
• Is it hard to collimate Meade DS2090MAK, compared to C5? (i remember reading bad things about most Maks in this regard)

Now, regarding the prices: a disclaimer. I live in a small country with minuscule scope market, basically only one online store sells them. The prices are high. Availability is low. Shipping (of heavy / large items) from abroad + customs duty cost an arm and a leg.
So, the price for this Meade DS2090MAK is 150 Euros, which looks very reasonable compared to the asking price for Celestron C5 + Celestron Heavy Duty Alt-Azimuth Tripod, which is 700 Euros (I know, I know..).

I'm playing on switch and the crashing is infuriating. On top of that since the update I have disappearing furniture and it's annoying for DS. I love this game it's the best hour of my day right now but man, they need to fix all this stuff. With the amount of money people spend between the game itself and the premium shop you'd think they'd have better patches out.

The Edirol SD-90 was ZUN's main choice of instruments to use when he composed the music for Touhou 6. It was a large rectangular MIDI hardware wich you could connect to a keyboard and play around with its instrument patches and effects. There are also other variants of it, such as the SD-20 and 80, but those are of inferior quality, especially the SD-20, wich missed over 100 instruments over its best version. Over the years, people discovered that they could use it to copy ZUN's music style and make their own music out of it, wich led to countless Touhou-styled remixes of popular songs. However, finding one of these nowadays is extremely difficult, even in digital form, such as a soundfont called "THFont" that is said to contain SD-90 instruments, but that's not true, because most of its patches comes from another Roland product known as "HyperCanvas". Also, there is a modification for the HyperCanvas on the website "Musical Artifacts" that replaces the instruments with their SD-20 counterparts, but, as you can imagine, the mixing sounds completely different and there are no advanced effects, just some really bad ones, such as the "MFX Multi Guitar B" used in the distorted guitar from "U.N Owen Was Her?". So, please, if you own an SD-90, try to do some research on how to extract the ROM and instrument files, put them into your computer and program a VST of it, optionally including a digital interface version of the front of the hardware with all the different options to choose from. Seriously, I looked everywhere, but I couldn't find it online, so, if you can dump the ROM into a VST and put the source code on Github (because it's been discontinued a long time ago and they aren't making money out of it nowadays), I would highly appreciate it.

That way even if the vendor stops updating the os you could still receive security updates by Google , I understand if they couldn't add all security patches due to different phones having slightly different custom layers but overall couldn't they just pass generic fixes?

Hello, I am emulating PC-98 games via Neko Project II Kai in Retroarch but they won't show Japanese nor English text despite I did all that people recommend. That is, I put the font.rom and the font bitmap in the system folder of Retroarch, under the subfolder np2kai. I have all other optional files and bios files in the right place, yet... the fonts and those files are not detected! If I load the core of Neko Project II Kai and go to the core information Retroarch tells me that the font files and other optional files are missing although they are right there in the folder! Actually, with some games the Japanese text will show anyway, but not with others I care for, not to mention English text of pre-patched games that will never show. Don't just tell me to use Neko Project II as a standalone emulator cause I did it and it works, but the reason why I want to use NP2Kai inside Retroarch is that I can activate the AI translation (I know it's not accurate but it helps a bit not to be completely clueless about menus at least). Did anyone experience this weird issue and find a solution? Thanks

Anybody have any success running a Pokemon Rom hack off of Pokemon stadium have tried patching Pokemon cross stadium and Pokemon arena to stadium and the game starts with a black screen. Anything I could be doing wrong?

I grew up with a DS, but when I was in high school one of my classmates pulled a gba sp out of his pocket and showed me golden sun. I recently downloaded delta and have been having a lot of fun playing zelda, but the controls are kind of a pain, so I was thinking about getting a designated system with actual physical buttons, but I’m not sure if I should get a pocket emulator or a used gba
requirements: able to be folded in half to protect the screen and fit in my pocket (or else I would have just gotten a miyoo mini and called it a day) a screen that’s easily visible in full sun and indoors both during the day and very late at night able to play roms preferably purple although blue is also acceptable budget: 150-200usd

Hey, does anybody know if you can download rom hacks like Zelda indigo, and if so how? I tired following instructions I found on the romhacks since it’s a romhack as a sequel to my favorite game ocarina of time. And I kept running into problems/ had no idea what I was doing mixing files around. I finally got a downloaded version but when I would try to open the new “game” it would always crash the app, even when I would try to delete it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to download romhacks in general for this emulator but especially Zelda indigo? Thank you

Hy Guys and Girls. This is my experience of bloodborne. It is my first souls game, that i will complete. I played Ds 3 on pc. I ended it before prince. So. First of all this game is a masterpiece. It is perfect long, it rewards you very well. It has it’s downsides, and bad things, but they are little in my eyes ( the poor descriptions of Hunter badges ( what you unlock with it ), or what you get after a boss kill ( blood and insight shop items ), i think the game should tell you: “ don’t save upgrade material. If you get almost everything, you can max 3 weapon at the end of the game, how chalices works, when you should start it not to be over levelled ). I think the bosses are all fine, and well paced. Feasts : Cleric 1st, Father 1st, Bloodstarved 1st, Witch 1st, Rom 1st, Amy 1st, Celestial 1st, Ebrietas 1st Ludwig 1st, Living 1st, Maria 1st. I have to face chalice dungeons, Gehram and Moon. As far as Martyr was the hardest boss. He wasted a whole afternoon of my time. Orphan was good. He punished me when i made a mistake. Laurence. Fucking Laurence. I hate him. Should i go chalices or end the game? What souls game should i go next?
