Demko AD20S Clip Point 20CV - Second owner. Previous owner disassembled to swap scales with a different model. Other than that, basically LNIB. I have not carried it or cut with it. Never sharpened. Comes with box. SV: 400
Demko AD20.5 Smooth Ti Sharkfoot 20CV - First owner. I disassembled it to install Skiff bearings, but just enjoy the textured ti more. Has one small snail near the clip-side pivot that's really hard to see, and some slight scratches near the slot on the same side. Carried a couple times, but never cut anything. Never sharpened. Comes with plastic tube/box, lefty clip, and original bearings. SV: 225
Grimsmo Norseman #6654 - Third owner. Was originally anodized turquoise, but a previous owner had custom anodizing done by Valley Bladeworks. Was only ever disassembled to anodize. Chaves 229 Liberation Blackout - This was a Thanh V Nguyen exclusive. I'm the first owner. Has seen a bit of pocket time, but never cut anything. I disassembled to install skiff bearings. We have a solar lease @ $0.14/KWh. Every KWh generated, we must pay this rate even if we do not use it.
We are supposed to have rights to this electricity. An excerpt from the agreement with our Solar provider:

3(a) Sale of Electricity. Starting on the In-Service Date, we will sell to you all electricity produced by the System, as measured in kilowatt-hours (the “Energy”), at the Energy Price (shown to the right Æ), plus applicable taxes. [...] (c) Other than the Energy, you have no rights to the System or the System Interests [...]

My understanding from the agreement is that the electricity is sold to ME and I own/have rights to the electricity generated by the solar system.
The electric utility, Central Hudson (CenHud), accumulates this is as credit on our bill via NET metering. So every period, we receive a bill which has their utility service charge of ~$40, and 0 KWh consumed. The NET metering section shows the change in our KWh balance and our current KWh balance: like so. This is ballpark ~$2000 for two years of service. This means I net generate ~$1000 worth of electricity for CenHud yearly that I pay for out of pocket.
I spoke with them over the phone on two occasions and they confirmed that I will never be reimbursed for the existing/remain NET metering balance in any way (even if I close my account!) EXCEPT as a credit to zero-out my usage for that period with them. So if in the winter I use 900Kwh of electricity in a period, it will deduct that from my NET metering balance before charging me utility electric rates.
Here is an excerpt from their FAQ: (which links to a document "163.5.13" in New York State)

[...] If at the time of anniversary, your account has excess generation from the preceding 12 month period, you will receive a payment. [...] For systems installed after March 9, 2017, credits are applied to the next billing period. Do I have any legal grounds to demand I be reimbursed for excess solar generation?
EDIT: If you search for "163.5.18" in google with the quotes, the third link will be a "ORDER APPROVING TARIFF AMENDMENTS" , the bottom of the third page reads:

The proposed tariff amendments do not eliminate the annual payments due to customer-generators that have produced excess electricity at the end of the year or annualized period with a value of less than $100.00; it would simply replace a physical check with a bill credit.

Sounds to me like if the value of excess electricity is >$100 they still should give me a check for it.

I have recently started cleaning the floors of a publicly traded company. My manager told me I need to start using less water in my bucket to save the company costs. Something to do with "adding value to our shareholders" and "making my mop water last longer". As a CPA turned janitor, I can't understand their premise.
They tell me shareholders are funding our operations, but isn't that what sales is for? They tell me for us to remain competitive in the market, we need to cut costs, and yet, I don't see any price cuts.
How does that work? I also don't believe our CEO is trying to line his pockets because he once said hi to me in the hallway, so I know he's a nice dude.
Any ideas on how this "funding" thing works?

My father is a beneficiary of his father's estate and I think the executor (my dad's brother, also a beneficiary) may have breached his fiduciary duty and stolen at least $70,000 out of the estate. Here's the situation:
My grandpa died back in 2015. My dad, whose relationship with his other two siblings isn't close, stayed someone distanced from the disposition of the estate for the sake of not causing friction in what little relationships were still there. From what I understand, he's never even actually seen a copy of the will for himself. Some things I've heard in conversation over the past few years have bubbled back up for me as I've been working on the estate planning portion of my CFP education and I want to make sure things are being done justly to my dad and his sister (the other non-executor beneficiary). My biggest concern is around my grandpa's house. Here's a rundown:
-Grandpa dies in January 2015.
-Uncle (executor), for some reason, waits until February 2018 just to open probate.
-Uncle, as executor, sits on Grandpa's house until February 2020 (5 years post-death!) when he sells it to HIMSELF. This is where things start to really seem wrong to me. From what I've gathered, the other siblings were verbally notified of this transaction, but were largely not involved.
Here's the situation on the real estate transaction.
When my grandpa died, his house was worth about $127,500. When the executor finally sold the house to himself 5 years later in Feb 2020, it was worth around $200k, BUT he sold it to himself for "2015 FAIR MKT VALUE $127,500," as recorded on the deed that he drafted himself. My dad and my sister each received 1/3 of $127,500 for their share. The way I see it, my uncle instantly stole ~$70k out of the estate when this transaction occurred. Shouldn't it have been sold at a fair market value for 2020 at the time of the sale? Had it been sold to a third party, he clearly would have listed it for ~$200k. What makes me angrier, is that after buying the house for himself at a $70k discount, he then proceeds to rent it out as a landlord at current market rent, all of which he pockets for himself.
Considering the will designated a 1/3 split between the children, I believe my uncle (executor of the estate) has disproportionately, or even illegally, benefited from the estate. I wish I had caught it sooner, but only now am I starting to become formally educated on this stuff. It makes me wonder how else he may skimmed off the estate for himself that I'm not aware of yet. I've requested the full list of records associated with the probate case to review for myself.
The biggest question I have out of al of this: Was the $70k discounted self-dealing home purchase legal at all? I know there's a step up in basis to the date of death for beneficiaries and I think that's the logic my uncle tried to use. However, when he FINALLY sold it for the estate 5 years later, it had appreciated by about $70k. Had he sold it on the market instead of to himself at a discount, a full $200k sale price would have resulted in ~$23.3k more inheritance each for my dad and my aunt. Is there any recourse here? It seems like felony-level fraud to me and I want to make sure everything is done right by my dad and my aunt.
Edit: Probate was closed in 2022, but I'm hoping there is still some recourse.

A while back, we were all in agreement, apart from one or two shills or "compromised" accounts that defended the game regardless. Most posts were pretty honest and down the line about how the game has fared during EA and how the game currently plays.
However, since the dev roundtable things have taken a turn. The game is still a steaming pile of garbage in its current state, but it seems that everything even remotely negative is downvoted immediately. It's always the same score too. So one of three things is happening:
Mods are in the pockets of the Devs and having been made aware of the impact this subreddit likely has on new sales, have agreed to employ some bots or shills to change the narrative of the subreddit for a while. This is against Reddit TOS and if I can find the evidence, I'll be reporting it.
Everyone did a full 180 on the game and now are in some sort of deluded state that it's good. It isn't. It's 6 months off release and we have had a dev roundtable. That's it. So I don't believe this for a second.

I’ve had my pocket 4k since day one of launch. The hesitation to upgrade has always been due to the fact that these camera body’s are too wide! Love my camera but HATE trying to fit a pocket camera 4k/6k on a gimbal designed for small cameras. Box design is a must and we need your mod! The 6k just went on sale. Hello all,
I am currently looking to replace my Apple Watch(Series 7). I’m not a huge fan of the square shape (I also don’t really use the apps or texting via watch either)and with Garmin currently on sale I figured this was as good a time as any to move on.
I’ve done some looking and I am still not sure what way to go. I have some spending money for the watch but the fenix would just about be the limit of my budget.
I primarily walk, hike and jog. I do not go to the gym often but occasionally I will bike outdoor and stationary when I house sit for a relative. Most of my use with the Apple Watch has been my fitness and tracking.
I think right now I’m between the fenix 7 pro, Venu 3, and maybe a Forerunner. I will be wearing the watch everyday and maybe for sleep as well. A concern is the durability of the watch. My Apple Watch got scratched decently by my keys when I was pocket searching and would like to avoid a similar situation though I am not planning on slamming my wrist into any hard objects.
Notifications from my phone would be nice but are not a big loss if they don’t go through as 99% of the time my phone is within a close distance of me. I don’t care about responding to texts via the watch or answering calls.
I’d appreciate any insights that could be shared. Thank you.

I stared, mouth dry, heart pounding, at the message from my boss – That awful combination of words that my coworkers and I pray we never see:
“You’re in the running for Employee of the Year.”
For him to send something so callous via email – that was just rubbing salt in the wound.
My eyes glazed over the wall of text that followed. I didn’t need to read the details – I’d cleaned enough of the prior winners off the walls and ceiling of the soundproofed breakroom to know exactly what the award entailed.
After that initial, deep pang of fear faded, denial flooded in to take its place.
I wasn’t just hitting my sales quota, I was blowing it out of the damn water – selling big ticket items daily. I never forgot to place the stickers with my barcode on the products, either, so when my customers checked out and it was scanned at the register, the sales should’ve automatically been linked to my employee ID.
We don’t receive commission – there are other ‘incentives’ to keep our sales up. I hadn’t been watching the numbers because I knew I was making sales left and right – I would've never even dreamt that I was at risk.
It was just a glitch with our computer system, I decided with a nervous laugh. It had to be – something IT could probably sort out in no time.
When I finally regained control of my legs, I wobbled to my manager’s office.
There was no miscalculation, he assured me. It was my employee ID that ranked at the bottom.
“The barcodes never lie, Graham.” He didn’t even bother making eye contact.
I was circling the drain figuratively, and if I didn’t get my shit together – literally – soon enough.
I begged him to review the camera footage – I knew he'd be able to see me making all those sales. “Don’t worry,” he added, with a smile vacant of anything remotely resembling happiness, “One way or another, we all contribute to the success of our company.”
I suppose that by then, he was long desensitized to the pleas of the desperate.
As I left his office, I assured myself that this wasn’t a death sentence.
Not yet.
I had another month until they recalculated our final standings, before shit would get real. Before I’d be given a limp handshake and an empty ‘Thank you for your devotion to the company’ as I was led down the hallway. Before I’d meet what lives behind the usually padlocked door in the shadowy corner of the breakroom.
Before I’d learn what it truly meant to sacrifice myself for the good of the company.
Word spread fast around the office.
Kevin gave me his smug, shit eating grin – maybe he thought that with me out of the picture, he’d finally have a shot with Elise.
Elise… I just desperately hoped that hers wouldn’t be the name drawn afterwards – the one selected to hose what’s left of me off the breakroom floor and down the stained, rusty drain.
As required, I began parking in my new designated space at the far end of the employee lot – the faded sign indicating ‘Reserved for Employee of the Year’ nearly swallowed up by the encroaching tree line. It added an extra ten minutes to my walk to our store, and I dreaded that added time in the oppressive Texas heat. The rational part of me knew that was soon to be a moot point, though.
One way or another, in another month, I wouldn’t have that parking spot. If I were lucky, I’d live to see another summer – live to see some other poor bastard’s car parked there.
If they hadn’t already heard the news, when the rest of my coworkers saw my car in that space, they knew what it meant. Don’t get too attached.
They started avoiding me like the plague. I didn’t blame them.
We all knew what would be coming next if my sales didn’t improve – it's the same thing that happens every time:
We’d gather for the mandatory meeting on the closing night of the fiscal year, all eyes on the sorry son of a bitch that had ‘won’ – the room so quiet that you could hear their muffled sobs. They’d receive what barely constituted a handshake from my manager while he muttered – dead-eyed – his appreciation for their devotion to the company.
Next, they’d be ushered off to the breakroom to meet ‘corporate’. No one tried to run – not after what happened in '19. Instead, the winner would always turn back, shooting us a desperate, final look – eyes pleading for someone, anyone, to intervene. And, of course, no one ever did.
Once the door closed behind them and that sound-proofed room swallowed up the last of their sobbing, begging – it was over. The rest of us would be sent home and I'd try to shower away that disgusting feeling – that sick sense of relief that someone else was sent to their death, and not me.
Cal – the nicest guy I’d ever met – he was the bottom performer two years ago.
He’d fallen so ill that he’d nearly wasted away and eventually, couldn’t work anymore. He must've thought that freed him from his contract – if he left, if he never came back into work, he’d be okay.
He must not have read the fine print in our hiring paperwork.
Although, to be fair, if any of us had read it, we'd never have signed it in the first place.
Cal was a warning to the rest of us, that there is no quitting in our line of work. If they have to track you down and find you (and I promise you that they will find you) – well, wouldn’t you prefer to go with your dignity, with the company compensating your loved ones – rather than be pulled from your home, kicking and screaming into the night?
Gina was employee of the year in 2023. Gina, with the kind smile, whom Kevin had set his sights on before Elise – and, just like Elise, she wanted nothing to do with him.
I still remember that day, the day they released the final numbers. The way Gina’s mouth hung open in confusion, shock.
When she finally managed to form words again, she too insisted that there must be some mistake. We all vouched for her to management – I’d personally seen her make so many sales.
Our manager simply reminded us that the barcodes never lie.
My name was the one drawn for breakroom duty that next morning, to pick up what remained of her smile and her simple gold wedding band, to be returned to her family. In one business week, they received a box containing a check, and everything left of her that wouldn’t fit down the drain.
Once the numbers are finalized, once your employee barcode has been slapped on that innocuous looking pink slip, well, your fate is sealed.
Kevin, in all his years at the company, has never parked on the far side of the lot. He has never even come close to becoming Employee of the Year, even though he couldn’t sell a bottle of water to a man dying of dehydration. He is sleaze incarnate and doesn’t even have the charisma to mask it.
I never understood how he did so well, but I couldn’t afford to think about him.
I had myself to worry about, and the glitch in the system. Any time I found myself in the breakroom, that ancient wooden door was an unwelcome reminder of the impending one-way trip it held for me.
I took special care to keep an eye on my sales, working my ass off, pulling double shifts. I pulled up the numbers as the end of month drew near, and couldn't believe it.
I was still dead last.
Somehow, there were days where less than half of my sales had been recorded to my employee number.
I didn’t understand.
I waited for the opportunity to sneak into the manager's office, and pull the footage myself.
I’d show the boss that something had gone wrong with the calculations, that the system was broken.
I finally got my chance. At first, I triumphantly watched myself make sale after sale – far more than had been credited to my account. For the first time in a month, I felt a sense of relief. I had evidence, and that had to count for something.
I switched feeds, to the camera nearer to the registers so I could confirm that the codes were being scanned. I'd seen several scanned successfully, and reached to turn off the recording. That's when I saw it.
Saw him.
Kevin.
It was subtle. I didn't realize what he was doing at first, until I recognized the pattern. Even then, I had to rewind and watch again for it to click.
It happened for nearly half of my sales that day. I saw him Intercepting the customers before they could check out – before I could get credit for my sales. And while he chatted them up, he discretely slapped his employee barcode over my own.
I confronted him that night – I was furious. He just smiled, smugly gave me that line about how the barcodes never lie.
He didn’t give a shit that he was sentencing someone else to death.
Hell, maybe he even enjoyed it.
Kevin had stolen credit for Gina’s sales – and god knows who else's.
Fucking. Kevin.
The day our numbers were to be finalized, he had the audacity to place his barcode over mine on a huge sale I’d made – he made no attempt at hiding it – right in front of me. He flashed me a grin as he did.
I caught up with the customers before they checked out and they kindly allowed me to peel the sticker off. I stuck it in my pocket to show my manager.
I pulled the video, too, and I stormed into his office, refused to leave until he watched it. I studied him as his eyes moved across the screen and if he was upset or shocked, he certainly didn't show it.
Finally, he met my eyes, and at the sight of the pain in his – well, for the first time, I felt a sense of relief.
Until I realized why he looked so miserable. Until he whispered, “I'm sorry, Graham. Someone has to receive that award tomorrow. It's out of my hands.”
I wordlessly handed him that damn barcode sticker of Kevin’s that I’d peeled off. He studied it for a long moment before he handed it back to me with a mere, “Why don't you hold onto this.”
I told Elise what had happened over lunch, and as much as I appreciated her outrage on my behalf, I was already resigned to it. I'd mainly wanted to warn her because I had a sick feeling she'd be the one Kevin went after next.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't devastated when, that night, my boss called me into his office and informed me of the final standings. Yeah, I knew it was coming, but I guess it's just human nature to hold onto denial – hope – until the bitter end.
For what felt like an eternity, we stared at each other in silence. The presence of the pink slip of paper lying on the desk between us, said more than enough.
Finally, my eyes drifted down to the form.
He’d already signed, but the space where my barcode – the series of vertical lines spelling out my death sentence – should’ve been placed, was empty.
I never knew how this part went, since it always took place behind closed doors. No one that ever filled out that form lived to tell the rest of us about it.
“I need you to place a barcode here before I send the form to corporate.” he said, eventually.
I opened my mouth for one final, impassioned plea for my life, but he interrupted me. He spoke each word slowly, softly.
“I’m leaving the room now. I need you to place a barcode here, before I send the form to corporate.”
He stared at me for a long moment, waiting for my barely perceptible nod of acknowledgement before leaving me alone in the office.
They processed the paperwork, and announced the Employee of the Year that next day.
Yes, I did feel a pang of guilt as I watched the smug grin fade, the blood drain from Kevin’s face as he stared in shock at the outstretched hand of our manager – as he was thanked for his devotion to our company.
I felt it again as I watched him plead all the way to the breakroom, as our manager spoke to him the same mantra we’d all heard before.
The barcodes never lie.
But I thought of Gina, of the countless others, and by the time I heard the door slam behind him – the guilt was already gone. In its place, the relief of knowing the rest of us were safe.
Well, at least until next year.

Just curious how SS is profitable despite claiming to purchase in bulk at low-cost.
With the vast amount of SKUs in each floor it's quite difficult to sell them all. That too with other expenses like trade schemes, salaries etc. burning their pockets it's not easy feat.
I understand during festive seasons sales will eventually pick-up. But let's assume with the likes new age brands, legacy competitors and platforms attracting customers for fashion, apparels, electronics etc. The footfall of customers drastically reduces and the amount of window shoppers is ~80% (assumption) & your actual customers is around ~20% and even lower in a non-season period that too for customers who like to purchase in very affordable prices. So your AOV (Average Order Value) is quite less unless they purchase in bulk.
Keeping in mind they have produced bogus bills and underreported sales in the past that lead to IT problems.
What are you guys thoughts?

The movement from the nightclub to Stitch’s clinic was grueling. Typically lugging a passed-out HVI or some other sod halfway across the city's district would not be a challenge. With his cybernetics, Conor was in decent enough shape and could sprint ten kilometers in full battle rattle without breaking a sweat, but Conor had pushed himself and didn’t need to wax a few Voodal in his way.
Conor had heard that Kurlatra were dense, but his assumptions about how heavy they were came nowhere close to the reality of picking one up.
Whatever this woman's name was, she likely weighed north of eighty kilograms. It was a shock because she was a meter and a half tall at most. For Urka’s sake, Conor only weighed one hundred and fifty kilograms despite being two meters tall and filled to the brim with wires.
He thought a bit about the woman's build and realized why she must weigh so much. She had hips and legs that could crush a man's skull. Along with a pair of tits just big enough that they would overflow from your hands.
Conner was made all the more well aware of those traits as he adjusted her to ensure he would not drop the little lass. Her fatty chest and plump thighs would try to swallow his hip each time he did. No sentient this small had any right being heavier than his entire breacher kit, explosives, anti-rifle armor, and all.
If not for Brakul expecting this rosey scag to be delivered to Stitch’s place, Conor would have lugged her to his safe house, which was far closer. But no, he had another job and order to follow.
The only shining light on this impromptu extraction was that the Voodal did not follow him. He had been worried about that last ganger he had shot; they had only eaten one round through the midchest. At the time, it looked like it might not have been a heart shot, and since he was picking this bimbo up at the time, he did not have a chance to ensure they were put down permanently.
Conor took a deep breath as he rounded the corner into a dirty alleyway, leaving the bustling thoroughfare behind. Thankfully, the residents of Heavalun knew better than to mess with him or anyone else who regularly did mercenary work, especially when they were carrying a body—alive or not.
Those who stopped his type tended not to live long, so he was ignored other than a few passing glances.
After traveling a few meters into the alleyway, Conor stopped and tucked behind a dumpster. His feet squelched in a puddle of rank trash water leaking from the impromptu cover. While Conor was reasonably sure no one had followed him, a quick double-check was always good for his skin.
Conor did not want to bring trouble to Stitch’s place. He did not have the slightest idea where he would find another techy who could synthesize the cocktail of stimulants Stitch made to keep his broken body held together. Pissing the tech head off was not high on his priority list.
Over the next ten minutes, the only thing his thermal vision picked up between him and the main road was a few Zlit rats scurrying atop discarded food. Their fleshy tendrils groped the garbage and pulled it into maws of razor-sharp teeth.
The sight of them sent a shiver down his spine. Those foul little mammals were high on his list of hated creatures, having been bitten by them more than once since he was a kid slinking around the gutters of Heavalun.
Pushing those memories away, Conor traveled deeper and rounded a blind corner. The sounds of the crowd's chatter entirely vanished as he entered the backstreet where Stitch’s clinic was nestled.
The rest of the journey was only a few hundred meters and only required Conor to sidestep some used needles and shit; He also had to kick one homeless bum who tried to grab the girl out of the cover of his jacket. Usually, he would have just shot the piece of hreck shit, but with his hands full, a swift boot to the jaw got the message across.
With the bum limping away, broken jaw clutched in pain, Conor hammered on the metal door; its frame and the neon sign to its side quivered under his brute strength. Then began the worst part of dealing with Stitch, waiting for the asshole to open the door.
Conor waited until ten minutes had passed and received no answer. Then he punched the door harder, his metal hand denting the surface. Several seconds later, a heavily synthesized voice echoed out of the speakers hidden around the area—speakers that Conor had never been able to locate, no matter how fervently he tried.
“What do you want, Conor?” Stitch questioned. “Did you break more of your wiring?”
Conor sighed heavily, knowing Stitch had this entire block wired with multispectrum cameras and could see him a kilometer out. If this were a visit for his wiring, Stitch would know. The man was just being paranoid and wanted Conor to state his business.
“I got a girl I need you to check up on,” Conor said, pushing his jacket slightly open and letting the girl's ref scales shine.
“What another hooker pass out on a bad trip?” Stitch chuckled cruelly. “This is the fourth this month; you are getting soft merc.”
Rolling his eyes, Conor could admit he was softer than most of the other mercenaries and gangsters in the city's neutral sections. Having seen his fair share of how bad this city can be, Conor did his best not to fuck over those who were just down on bad times and were not trying to cause him issues.
Life was arduous enough for them. So he gave back by lugging hookers and junkies to the nearest tech head and paying for their treatment or the closest Zential clinic. The Zentials were more than willing to treat the downtrodden for free, unlike the other medical services in Heavalun—stitch included.
He considered it his way of giving back and maybe finding Urka's good grace. Perhaps the god might forgive him for being a general piece of hreck shit if he continued to until he did. But he would not know until he finally kicked the bucket.
His intervention was a drop of clean water in the ocean of venom in this city. The other locals were more than willing to pick those he aided clean in minutes. They might as well be a swarm of bealit beatles eating carrion with how ravenous they were.
“It ain’t that. Just open the damn door,” Conor growled, punching the door again.
“Hold on, you greased-up cyborg,” Stitch frantically complained, worried that Conor would break his door again.
Conor smirked, glad the strange form of tolerance he and Stitch had built over the years was still strong. At this point, it was their modus operandi. Neither hated the other; no, they respected one another's role in this shithole.
Both toles put them in harm's way and brought them respect and infamy.
However, Conor found the way the denizens of Heavalun treated them funny. If you asked the average COS or GU citizen, who was more brutal: a mercenary with a pension for hyper-violence and little regard for collateral damage—-or a skeletal Itelv doctor who regularly performs life-saving surgery? They would choose Conor ten out of ten times. They did not know Stitch like Conor, Brakul, or most of the people in this city section.
They would tell you the truth of the good doctor.
They would weave you a tale of a greedy, crit-pinching asshole and that Stitch was the type of man who would stitch up for pay but would just as quickly harvest your organs for sale, or Urka forbid he would stick some experimental tech inside you and wait for your inevitable death to retrieve his property.
The door at long last opened with a vile hiss, and a gangly grey-skinned hand forced it open.
Stitch was just about as tall as Conor. But his thin grey limbs made him look one stiff breeze away from taking flight, with only his heavy artificial spider-like legs keeping him firmly on the planet.
Draped over his pencil-thin neck was a once-white apron. After years of use, it was stained with blood, oil, and hydraulic fluid.
“If she ain't one of your precious hookers, put her on the table. I will get my tool ready,” Stitch hissed, jamming his thumb over a shoulder.
“I ain’t selling this one to you either. Girlie got tagged by visage, and I need yah to treat her,” Conor replied, pushing past and laying the blonde on the recovery bed.
“You said she ain’t some hooker,” Stitch complained following, having gotten tired of Conor no longer bringing him fresh meat to sell.
Once Conor turned around and was about to explain the situation, Stitch pressed a bony finger into Conor's chest. “I told you, I'm selling the next one. She is it,”
“Can it doc. She is a client,” Conor replied. “Or are you going to explain to Brakul why you cut her up?”
Stitch clicked his tongue but did not try to move closer. His glassy, verdant eyes pulled Conor and the girl apart as he weighed the pros and cons of allying with Conor and Brakul another time.
“What is in it for me?” Stitch questioned, tapping a finger on a scalpel attached to his tool belt.
Conor sighed, realizing he should have expected this question, but he was not the broker of deals. That was Brakul’s schtick, and he was running late.
“You can take her jewelry and any credsticks you find on her. Alright?” Conor replied, knowing Brakul likely would have made a similar deal.
Stitch nodded and slinked closer to the woman. He lifted the necklace from her chest and carefully examined the jewels with a prudish eye any good businessman should have. After Stitch activated his magnified eyes, his cornea glowed gold, letting him see the atoms of the shiny trinket.
The doctor grinned cruelly, letting his crystalline teeth show proudly. The sight was unsettling and made Conor grip his pistol, fearing the doctor would flip his shit and decide it was not enough payment and try to cut the girl up.
But he did not start to slice her skin open. Instead, he sniggered nearly uncontrollably for a few moments, then spoke. “Yes, yes, yes. This will do just fine,” He sneered.
Conor was unsure what the jewels were, but they must be worth far more than he initially thought. For Urka's sake, Stitch was drooling on the necklace and the passed-out girl's chest.
“Good. So you will take care of her?” Conor questioned, needing to hear an assured answer.
Quickly slipping the jewelry into his pocket, Stitch looked back at Conor, his demeanor having done a complete one-eighty. “Of course, I always have room for paying customers.”
“Oh sweet, Conor, you handled the deal,” Brakul said, having just stepped in through the doors.
Why Brakul was allowed unfettered access to Stitch’s clinic and Conor was not something Conor had wondered for years but had accepted it as something to do with their role in the duo.
“Yeah, and he will watch the client. But we had yet to lay out the finer details,” Conor explained.
“Ah, no issue, I can take it from here,” Brakul replied.

Short sellers are usually organized institutional investors with enough assets to move a stock in a preferred direction, and they sometimes use dark pools to make their bets. They do so by borrowing and selling shares of a stock that they believe will decline in value. Then, when the stock price falls, a short seller buys the stock at the reduced price, returns the shares, and pockets the profit. If the short seller makes the right call, meaning the price does fall, they earn the difference between the price when they entered the short position and the lower stock price at which they bought to cover. If the short seller makes the wrong call, and the price goes up, the investor must buy the stock at a price higher than when they entered the short position, thereby losing money – and negating any potential for a profit. As short sellers wind up leaving their short positions when they execute a buy order on the stock, those short-squeeze buy positions get noticed by other investors, who also jump in to purchase the stock. That, in turn, drives the stock’s price even higher, since there are fewer shares of the stocks available to purchase. Short-sellers, highly alarmed by the rising share price, also issue buy orders on the stock to exit the short sale strategy and reduce their investment risk, which completes the cycle and puts the short squeeze in full effect. This can result in the short sales losing money and the MOASS trader making a profit on the rising stock price.

I dont know how to phrase this so I'm just gonna do my best. Some backstory is probably needed. I've been working for a retail store for 3 years now as the GM, I also worked there for 2 years in college which is why I landed the job when I left corporate office life. Relevant parties are my previous bosses Alison and Dirk* (names will be changed), who hired me at the suggestion of my predecessor (who worked there 25 years and also had the ol adhd), sold the business but not the building in late '21 so are effectively the LL's, Aaron, the current owner and my boss, who bought the store in mid 2023 after a secondary owner flipped it, and my bf David who works at the store pt for extra cash with the blessing of all owners past and present bc we keep our relationship outside of work and he's a damn hard worker.
So, Alison and dirk were like...not really around? And they didn't know how the backend software worked so they just kinda left me to my own devices so I fell into some pretty awful habits, mainly that I'm super territorial and if something isn't done I just do it myself or that since I wasn't given direction or goals my days just kinda became "idk clean the shelves and take the trash out" which had led to my staff liking me but not necessarily respecting me. And I spent so much time with sales reps bc I had to work alone all day, so much so that my best friends are all industry cohorts, bc I had NO oversight outside of A&D coming in, chastising me about new products I'd ordered, and fucking off. I could go weeks wo seeing them. Let me be clear, the store had money coming in, it looked great, the books mostly balanced (a&d notwithstanding) and I have always taken immense pride in my little pocket of locally sourced product. Every product was handchosen by me, I sell the shit out of it on the floor, I'd post us on socials, I'd regularly run spreadsheets to make sure our margins were competitive and made sense, I wasnt fucking around all day but I had no sense of direction, I was treading water with no shore in sight. My staff will be the first to tell u I don't ask them to do anything I'm not willing to do so I would scrub the toilet or empty the mousetraps or organize the stock area.
So all that to say, Aaron bought a failing business that I didn't even know was failing (and not due to anything I'd done, it was failing from the top) bc they never told me anything, I submitted my reports every month and checked the sales but I was never given metrics or told what metrics needed to be met just "keep the place operational". I'd ask for access to Moneris to make sure we were charged correctly and got shot down. Id ask what our overhead was so i could figure out how much we could afford for payroll and id be told "thats confidential", just keep it barebones. And understandably Aaron wants to turn that around, but he needs me to get on board and I want to so badly I know he can see that so hes working so hard to shift my mindset and help me grow into the leader he thinks im capable of and I know he gets so frustrated with me bc he has adhd too and he knows I'm like SO GOOD AT MY JOB if I'm given clear goals and deadlines but ive had a routine ya know? And then we've been sold twice in 2 years and all the chaos that comes with structural changes and different expectations. He's throwing every tool in the book at me right now bc he can see I'm struggling.
And that's where david becomes relevant bc he actually went to him over the weekend and asked him what HE thought would help me bc he obviously knows me better than anyone and my dumb ass bf done gone and said "we need to come up w a plan for best operating practice and maybe shed benefit from leadership coaching" so now that's been put in my plate on top of everything else which is like FINE but I'm not baking him any bread or sharing my pulled pork w him anytime soon. When i told David that aaron mentioned their convo he said "ummm that was not the outcome i was expecting" and he knows i fully expect him to help sort out the mess he just threw on my desk. So now my boss has asked me to find an executive function coach and he will pay for 4 consultations so I can implement some systems for time management.
Yall we thrive on routine I know this and he's working w me to meet me where I am so I wanna make the best of it so all that rambling to say - have any of u ever done this? Did u benefit from it? What types of questions should I ask in the consultation before I decide on one? Have u tried it? Did it work? Please bless me w ur wisdom ladies adorned w the crown of adhd I'm actually overthinking this and really stressed but I need to have an Appt set up by Friday (bc he knows how much I love deadlines lmao I told on myself) please help thank u. Also if anyone knows of any checklist software for retail that they use that is inexpensive or free that I can implement for my staff to do daily checklists, like maybe there's one ur company uses for u that's helpful plz let me know ok love u all
Tldr my boss wants to get me a coach to help structure my day and need advice

Hi. Looking for some advice. I have an eye condition which affects my night vision so flashlights become pretty important for navigation even just walking home down the pavement. I've been using an old Lezyne bike light which goes to 1600 lumens I think but it's usb micro, bulky and not designed to be held. I'm looking to level up. My requirements are: - as small as possible -usb c charging - as discreet as possible, needs to go in a pocket and not shout flashlight when I'm holding it - more of a flood beam I guess as I'm looking <50ft - ideally able to sustain 1-3k lumens - ideally has adjustable levels so I can set it up - don't need, UV, strobe, to break glass etc
I have a Nitecore TUP as an emergency backup on my keyring which is awesome for it's size.
I just brought a baton 4 premium in the sale as it's small and with the charging case I can leave it in my bag and have confidence it's charged. Also use the case as a backup battery for my phone. Hasn't arrived yet.
I was looking for a second, brighter light which could be bigger. I was looking at the EDC25 but then saw the TM12k which looked better as it had side switches and had customised levels up to 2k. I saw people said the wuben X1 was better but I think it starts to get too big and the style is not as discreet.
Any advice much appreciated.

As you know REI is having their big sale currently. Been buying a lot of 30% off gear for hiking (Sahara shirts) and running (Swiftland 5” shorts), but I haven’t quite nailed down a good pair of shorts for hiking with decent pockets. I really like the Swiftland shorts for running, but I need something with more pocket space for hikes. I also don’t want something that is bulky and has that stereotypical hiker look. Hopefully I can hike 2-3 days in Zion and not smell like deathly taint as well.
I don’t need 8 pockets, just something to accommodate an iPhone and some other small objects while keeping me cool with plenty of ROM. The Vuori Kore 5” shorts seem to have great reviews and adequate pocket space. I’m getting better about packing smaller and more efficiently.
Any thoughts on these as a hiking/multi-purpose short?
