2024.05.21 16:54 Jhawkjedi13 Help with my new sound bar

New Sound bar help (earc)
Ok so I have a LG B2. For the last year it was hooked up to an old vizio soundbar with optical cable. Never had any issues.
I got a samsung q800b yesterday and hooked it up through the eARC port. It worked great! Today I went to watch something on Disney+ and the sound wasn’t playing. Then I paused and unpaused the video and it started working. Then I tried watching something on prime and had to do the pause trick again. Audio started after I unpaused it but it’s delayed by a good 1-2seconds in prime and looks aweful.
I only watch things through the onboard webOS apps. Updated the firmware on the sound bar, checked all my connections were accurate, HDMI 2.1 cable. Made sure eARC is enabled on my TV and audio is set to passthrough TV. Other devices connect to HDMI ports are Nintendo Switch, Firestick, and xbox series x.
What can I do to fix the audio pause/unpause problems and delayed audio in prime?
I could prob go back to using an optical cable but I didn’t buy a new sound bar with atmos support to use a lesser cable. I’ve also read that disabling quick start and turning off CEC on other devices might help. I guess I’ll try those tonight after work

2024.05.21 16:50 Rippa-Splitta [REQUEST] [Xbox] Xbox Gamepass core (gold) or ultimate

Hello, making this thread and giving it a shot in the hope someone would help me out
i got an xbox few months ago and been enjoying new and old games and specially the games that i missed out on xbox last gen like halo and gears of war, a lot of great games on gamepass which is a great sub service and i've been enjoying it so far
i'm asking for gamepass core to extend my sub which will run out soon and can't really afford to buy it again, i would really appreciate the help here as i currently can't afford buying games with the current economy where i live everything is expensive, so for me gamepass is a great none expensive service that would help me enjoy the thing i love that helps me forget about reality for a few hours everyday
i even have some money on my steam account that i tried to trade a few times but couldn't, had it when i was doing good, but i currently can't use it as my pc is old and can't run new games, and i've been trying to trade this money with a gamepass sub but had no luck trading it so it's just sitting there and can't use it for anything, so i would really appreciate the help here, 3 months or even 1 month anything would be great
thanks for taking the time to read this

2024.05.21 16:46 Mafrost26 Using a modern controller on the original XBOX - my setup

Hello!
I would like to share my new controller setup for the original XBOX. The reason I would like to share it is that I couldn't find anyone mentioning this type of setup. I use the Brook Wingman XB Converter (XB1 not XB2) that I bought refurbished on AliExpress (it was half price but worked perfectly). I connected it to the XBOX console using the female USB to Xbox port adapter cable (which can also be found really cheap on AliExpress). As the controller I use the 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4Ghz controller - with Hall Effect joysticks.
Note: This setup will only work if you update the Brook Wingman XB to the newest firmware from May 2024 which provides compatibility for 8BitDo controllers.
The great part about this setup is that the 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4Ghz controller has the right placement of buttons (X,Y,A,B are in the same place as they were on the original XBOX controller). If you buy the Bluetooth version it will also work but be warned that the buttons are not in the right places (it uses the Switch layout).
There is also a version with both Bluetooth and 2,4Ghz - that one uses the XBOX button placement - so it is also a valid choice.
I hope this helps someone.

2024.05.21 16:38 Trinikon_151962 Microsoft locked my account and I dont know why

I tried logging in to my Xbox when it said my account had a problem and to head to account.live.com to get it fixed. When I went to the site to fill the form it asked for the disabled account email address so I entered it, turns out I needed a members Id and a skype username but I don't have both of those so what to use to recover my locked Microsoft account if I don't have a member Id or skype username?

2024.05.21 16:25 302express Original Rocksmith Game DLC and Xbox Live Question

So a niche question. I still run an Xbox 360 for the original Rocksmith game and I have some downloaded songs that you can no longer get anywhere else. I can't see or play those songs in Rocksmith unless I am connected to Xbox live. I can see the songs in my storage management and the songs all say they are saved to the HDD. But again I can't see or play those songs in the actual game. I'm worried that when Xbox 360 starts shutting down I wont be able to play those songs again. Does anyone have any ideas?

2024.05.21 15:57 Holiday_Contest2929 Error code 0x8B050084 0x00000000 0x00000201

Hi, my name is Juan, I'm from Colombia and I been having a very huge problem with my xbox series s since a couple of days. There was a storm with lightnings in the place where I live and for a few seconds there was a black out, so I disconnected my TV and the console and after the storm ended I turned on the console again but it took a very long time to start and when the homepage finally appeared it said that it was not connected to the xbox network and It seemed pretty weird to me, beacause the console was already wired connected so I thought it was a problem with my wi-fi router so I disconnected the router for about 5 minutes and also I restarted the console, but the problem remained the same, and I just realized that it couldn't be a wi-fi problem beacuse my laptop was working perfectly with the same LAN cable that I was using in the xbox, the funny thing is that I also tried a wireless connection but it kept saying that the console was NAT connected and that I had to disconnect the wire, even when it was ALREADY DISCONNECTED, so basically I was not having any internet connection at all, so I decided to reset the console to factory settings (and went just worse) first I tried to reset and keep my games and apps, then mid process the screen displayed a message saying checking for updates but after that a message saying error code 0x8B050084 0x00000000 0x00000201, and I really tried it all to solve this but none of my efforts worked, at that point I only had three options to try, "try again", "check network" and "turn off console", if I press on "try again" the same error code displays again, if I press on "check network" it ask me to check wired or wireless connection and when I press wired it says it's all good and the console it's wired connected even when the LAN Cable it's unplugged, which is a big problem, so I tried to check the wireless connection and it didn't show me my wireless network not even wireless networks nearby, the only thing displaying it's "Add wireless network" so when I press it, it says Specify SSID and at this point it's not even a surprise that when I put my SSID it didn't work at all, saying that my security protocol won't work, I even tried typing the SSID's from my neighbors and also none of them worked, so I'm stuck in the factory settings mode and the only possible solution that I found in the internet was doing an offline update through a flash drive, so I reset my pendrive to NTFS format and I downloaded the OSU1 file from the xbox webpage and I just copied the "$Systemupdate" file to the USB, then I get to the xbox troubleshooting menu and I inserted the pendrive to perform an "offline system update". I really thought that this method was going to be effective but when the update process was at about 80% the console just stopped the update and started to display "checking for updates" again just to end up showing the same error code 0x8B050084 0x00000000 0x00000201 AGAIN. I was so confused beacuse what is the point of doing an offline system update if it is going to check out the network connectivity anyway, I've tried to perform the offline system update three times but the result was same, so at this point my series s won't start at all and I really don't know what to do.

Need help 😂
Hi all , I have very little pc knowledge and need help building a pc . I have no idea what to get, where to buy from and what brands to buy 😂. This is basically like a foreign language to me :(
My laptop has given up that I use to play sims and thought I’d get into pc gaming more . Which is something I’ve always wanted to do and come away from console.
The pc will be mainly used for sims (including cc and mods ) and indie games .
For now whilst I get used to pc , I will be playing all big games - like gta & COD on Xbox .
Budget is £1000 but willing to go over :)
I live in the UK if that helps !

2024.05.21 15:34 swipeth A few suggestions for those who enjoy games with deep meaning, and a request for more!

Severed A dungeon crawler about overcoming loss and tragedy. Thought it isn’t graphically impressive, it is beautiful through-and-through. A metaphorical battle of demons that had me gripped til the end. Gameplay can be quite challenging at times, but the touch controls are very well done and make for a great mobile game.
Journey This is a port of a 2012 PS3 game, but it has just as much meaning now as it did a decade ago. Journey is exactly what its name suggests, the Journey through life. Traverse great barren deserts, climb the pillars left by those who lived before you, and plunge into the ruins of those whose journeys were stopped short by challenges. The graphics are a little low-res for a PS3 game, but this was likely to accommodate weaker mobile devices of the time. Regardless, this is a beautifully crafted game that was expertly ported to iOS.
The Mosaic If you have Apple Arcade, this is definitely one worth trying before it is too late. In this game about a life in a technologically dystopian world, you witness a grind that isn’t unfamiliar to the reality many of us face. The point of the game seems to be to reconnect the player with reality by turning repetitious meaninglessness on blast so we can all recognize it. See the butterflies and hear the music.
Meaning is interpreted at a personal level, so I don’t typically search for the developer’s intended meaning. Forgive me if I have misunderstood the developer’s messages, and please let me know if your experience differed from mine.
I have found that enjoy these games more than grindy RPGs lately and would love to hear more suggestions from others who have found meaningful experiences in iOS games.

2024.05.21 15:28 papared122 SFF PC in Entertainment Center (1080p 60fps min., efficiency)

>**What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.\\
I would like to build a SFF PC (due to space constraints) in the Lian Li A4-H2O or similar case. The height clearance should be no more than 13 inches MAX. The PC will be hooked up to an OLED TV for playing games and movies, etc. I play almost all types of games and I'm fine with 1080p 60fps at Medium to High settings for demanding titles. Basically if I can build this to that games will look pretty much the same as they would on PS5 I will be more than content. This is more for couch gaming (console ports, indies) - I have a powerful gaming laptop that I travel with (frequently) that I use for mouse/keyboard titles.
This PC would replace a PS5, essentially. My motivation there is to keep all my games in the Steam/PC ecosystem so that I can play them from the couch, or laptop when traveling, or the Steam Deck (either streaming or natively if they run on it). I am tired of buying games for PS5 and want to consolidate my efforts within Steam/Windows.
I have a ton of experience building PCs so I am comfortable with complex builds and cable routing etc - I just have 2 small kids and no time to research the best value proposition for parts. I would be open to custom cables as well - that just sounds cool and I've never gotten them for a build before.
>**What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?*\*
Rather than a maximum budget, I would prefer to not buy more PC than I will really need to take full advantage of an OLED TV at 120mhz maximum refresh rate. The TV is 4k but I am OK with 1080p and 60fps minimum for demanding titles. I also would like to err on the side of efficiency and modest heat generation as I live in a warm climate and this SFF PC will live in the entertainment center.
In terms of budget ethos - I prefer cost benefit over future proofing. If it's built on a platform that can be easily upgraded later that's cool, but I will focus on 1080p and efficiency for this build due to the above factors.

>**When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.*\*
No real urgency. If there is some compelling reason to wait (an approaching generational leap), I'd be open to that.

>**What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc\)*\*
Only PC hardware with OS needed in budget. All peripherals are covered already. If you have handy suggestions for a PC located under the TV that would be welcome (extensions of some sort, lap keyboard, I dunno).

>**Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?*\*
I will be purchasing all parts in the US. I live in Brazil but travel there frequently for work. I would focus on e-retailers rather than proximity to a Microcenter, for instance.

>**If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.*\*
N/A

>**Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?*\*
No overclocking. Perhaps undervolting as needed.

>**Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)*\*
2TB M.2 should be sufficient. It will be wired for internet but nice to include wi-fi on the MB just in case. Integrated GPU can be nice for troubleshooting if the GPU fails too.

>**Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?*\*
SFF case - details outlined previously (Lian Li A4-H2O or similar case. The height clearance should be no more than 13 inches MAX).

>**Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?*\*
Yes include Windows please.

**Extra info or particulars:**

2024.05.21 15:26 b_lucas_06 Xbox 360 keeps disconnecting from Xbox Live

I have an Xbox 360 S that will randomly disconnect from Xbox Live. It's always unpredictable when it will disconnect, but it will never stay connected for more than 10 minutes. It's really annoying because I'm trying to download some games.
The Xbox seems to stay connected to WiFi. I also don't have another Xbox 360 that connects to WiFi, so I can't test that.
I'm using an Xbox 360 S on WiFi (2.4GHz). And our provider is StarLink if that matters.
Any help would be appreciated.

WHITE HAT SOURCES SAID THAT THE 100,000-TON DALI, a SINGAPORE-FLAGGED CARGO SHIP, MAY HAVE BEEN UNMANNED when it COLLIDED with THE FRANCIS SCOTT KEY BRIDGE in MARYLAND early morning, CAUSING A TOTAL STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE OF THE 1.2-MILE BRIDGE. March 27, 2024.
White Hat sources told Real Raw News that the 100,000-ton Dali, a Singapore-flagged cargo ship, may have been unmanned when it collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Maryland early Tuesday morning, causing a total structural collapse of the 1.2-mile bridge.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., the Dali was departing Baltimore Harbor when it smashed into a support pylon; the span crumbled like a Tinkertoy, sending mangled metal and overnight construction workers 150′ below into icy waters. Two were rescued, with the other six presumed dead.
Officials claim the Dali issued a distress/mayday call, saying the vessel had lost propulsion moments before the disastrous collision. They attributed the distress call to giving authorities enough time to close the bridge and prevent additional vehicles and people from plunging into the frigid Patapsco River.
Shortly after the ‘accident’ Synergy Marine Pte Ltd., the Dali’s management company, reported that the ship’s 22 crewmembers, ostensibly persons specialized in piloting enormous boats in and out of port, were safe and accounted for.
RRN’s sources, however, suggest that Synergy and public officials have misrepresented facts surrounding the incident.
At 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER), which routinely monitors Deep State chatter, overheard a telephone conversation fragment between a National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) official and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. On it, an anxious Buttigieg shrieks at the NTSB investigator: “Unmanned? No bridge crew? That’s not a possibility, so don’t spread it around. In fact, forget you mentioned it.”
“It’s not only possible but probable. No crew was taken off the Dali,” the NTSB guy replied.
“Heed what I said,” Buttigieg said. “Rumors get people in trouble, and by people, I mean you.”
Unfortunately, ARCYBER captured only that snippet of the five-minute call.
The NTSB is the country’s principal investigative agency for matters involving civil airline, rail, and maritime accidents. Although federally funded, NTSB leadership has clashed with agencies like the FBI over jurisdictional authority in the past; unless terrorism is suspected, the NTSB has dominion over accidents that claim U.S. lives or damage U.S. property.
The Biden regime yesterday swiftly ruled out terrorism as the internet became awash with conspiracy theories from cyber-attacks to a drunk crew swerving the ship into the bridge.
“Right now all we know is one NTSB official telling butthole Buttigieg Dali was a ghostship when it hit the bridge, and a very angry Buttigieg refuting him. The NTSB man was right in that it’s possible given today’s technology; almost every vehicle, airplane, and ship imaginable can be remote controlled. We’d need to board the Dali to confirm, and maybe talk with the NTSB about where they got their information. This’ll cause logistical nightmares for imports and exports in the northeast.”

2024.05.21 15:03 HANDY-ANDY333 Recording Xbox S Gameplay to edit/upload HELP

This is my first post, and I was hoping the community could help me out. I recently got injured and can't go to the gym or train for a few months and in the meantime I want to record me playing and talking via my Xbox series S. I'd like to make you tube videos that record the gameplay, the games audio, and my commentary via my Xbox microphone. I don't have space on my desk for multiple monitors, so I just have the one. Also my laptop wouldn't keep up with live streaming gameplay. Any Idea on what I would need to buy in order to record my gameplay, audio, and pickup my commentary via microphone? My idea was to just get an Elgato game capturer and go from there, but id rather just get all i would need in one go as to not waste much time.
Also, I have a 2 TB Seagate card that I believe can hold my gameplay if needed, I should also preface that I know little to nothing about tech so replying in layman's terms would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
