Scott I was given most of the infantry in this army by a dear friend of mine who passed away a couple of years ago. I'm reminded of good times with him, wasting several hours on Saturdays pushing minis around and laughing, every time I play with this army. The over aching theme of my list is I tried as best as I could (with the limitations of the generic list) is to recreate a "Schnell" squadron of the 100th Jager Division from mid war in Russia. Where they would take the motorized infantry and vehicles from the recon companies and attach them to anti tank gun companies that would race forward ahead of the main group. These squadrons would then dismount and hold vital areas that the main force could pass thru. Then once everything was thru they would remount race ahead again and do it again. The 100th Jager Division ready to roll! submitted by gatorgamesandbooks to GatorGamesandBooks [link] [comments]
2024.05.21 22:55 MercuryMewMew [Request] [Steam] Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Hello GoG,
I would like to take this opportunity to request
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth! at -30% off.
If there are 3 things the Yakuza/Like a Dragon developers know how to do:
- 1) It's how to make a compelling narrative.
- 2) Make an astonishing amount of mini-games and silly side-content.
- 3) Somehow manage to refine their combat system even further.
Of course, I did have a fantastic time with Yakuza 0 a few years back. I grew to love the Kamurocho district. It's a densely packed and pleasantly detailed location. So, Hawaii will be an entirely new experience.
Having experience with Yakuza 0 and watching multiple playthroughs of Like a Dragon, you can easily tell there is a tremendous amount of heart and care put into these titles. It did take a little bit to adjust to Ichiban as the new protagonist going forward, but with the change in story direction, the new turn-based combat style and even the location, I found the Like a Dragon series to be heading in a very promising direction.
This time we're going to Hawaii! Expanding to a much larger map and having a plethora of new and old mini-games that we all love and adore. There's blackjack, card games, mahjong, uber eats delivery service (?), sujimon manager simulator, (Totally not Pokemon with real people, I swear.) dating adventures, photography, a whole island management game that is basically Animal Crossing. I haven't even scratched the surface, there is a tremendous amount of content and I don't think the human body can sustain that much sensory stimulation. That's a good thing. Like a Dragon is a marathon, not a sprint, and it is meant to be enjoyed.
Ichiban is a delightful new protagonist and serves as a great foil to Kiryu. They have their common ground, but their personalities create room for interesting interactions with other characters. I'm very fond of Ichiban's sincerity and passion. He is the heart of the party, I love him!
I know Kiryu is the face of the Yakuza series, but passing the torch to Ichiban in Like a Dragon opened up so much more room to experiment with different character archetypes. Like a Dragon took a different approach to the beat-em-up combat in favor of a surprisingly good turn-based combat system that still feels visceral and interesting. It's also a visual treat since everything is so well-animated while also being hilarious and brutal, depending on your actions.
I very much appreciate having an older cast of characters for the main party. It's a nice break to have characters who have a solid grasp on their own identity while grappling with deep-seated flaws from their sheer life experience.
The entire Ichiban crew is odd and interesting. Saeko is a particular favorite of mine. (Don't mess with the bartender.)
The "job" system is great for combat and comedy, and I'm really curious about the direction of the plot. The Yakuza/Like a Dragon series always managed to balance the line between serious, interpersonal crime drama and the absurd shenanigans in the side quests. It's a great palette cleanser if you're in the mood for drama, heartfelt side stories, or silly antics.
I really hope they kept the "summoning" system in the sequel because it equates to you phoning up a friend to call them into battle. It seems like they did! Because I miss that crawfish, Nancy, she's great.
The characters in the party really make up the heart of the story. I can't think of a single character that I didn't like in Like a Dragon. So, I'm really curious to see any new additions and how everyone interacts with one another.
I mean, the established crew is delightful:
- Ichiban is NUMBER ONE! No, seriously, it's in his name. Our delusional protagonist with the biggest heart is the most versatile character. Sure, everyone in the party can have their jobs changed, but it feels fitting that Ichiban can fulfill any role as he discovers more about himself in his personal journey. Or, at least, that's my interpretation.
- Nanba is your cynical homeless best friend who can wield the power of pigeons. He's basically the healer or wizard of the party.
- Adachi is the voice of reason. Your connection to reality and the gruff dad of the team. He fulfills the role of the tank by getting way too hands-on with his riot gear.
- Saeko (MY FAVORITE!) is the no-nonsense, sane person who happens to be a heavy-drinker. (Around this group, can you blame her?) She gets annoyed easily, but she's probably the most "normal" individual here. She's the debuffer by being an excellent barmaid in combat, or she makes a great healer with the power of...cheer and motivation...through the Idol job?
- Joongi Han. Well, I can't say too much about him. But he's cool and the assassin of the party.
- Zhao is a mysterious one. Principled, but a schemer. I'd say he would be the fighter of the party.
- Eri! Our special secret party member. She's an office lady who uses office supplies like a ninja. No, seriously, she'll strangle you with a lanyard, use thumbtacks as floor spikes, or she can cloak herself by stomping on a bag of flour to create a smokescreen. It's ridiculous, she's great!
Like a Dragon had a great soundtrack and a fantastic performance from the cast, both motion capture and vocal work. I was certainly invested, and I'm definitely curious to see where Infinite Wealth goes!
In terms of content, it's enormous, which is a delight in a single-player game. So, you certainly won't be wasting your time if you want to get invested in that world.
I'm really curious to see where it goes from here. So much happened in the prior game to establish the origins of the new cast and introduce their own development over the course of the game. So, I'm very interested to see how they develop and grow from this point forward.
As you can tell, I'm very much in it for the narrative. As serious, thrilling and silly as it can be.
It really is the complete package.

2024.05.21 22:48 Antradand How "The Plate" was built
After the blueprints for The Plate were created, they needed a way to build it, and the idea of a submarine came up. The submarine would scrape the ice off from beneath Antradand, and replace it with 4 feet of molten iron, which would be used to hold the six pontoons. the submarines would be named, Under Surface Plate Construction Vehicle, or USPCV for short.
The pontoons would have to be added quickly before the ice on the sides of Antradand melted too, causing Antradand to sink. the pontoons would have a temporary bridge on the bottom of them, and would have buoyancy control, and twenty 0.2 mile tall spikes on the top of the pontoon, with ten on each side. the pontoons would be nudged around by submarines until it reaches the designated spot, where then it'd ram itself upwards into the bottom of Antradand at the same time as another pontoon on the opposite side of Antradand, where then the bridge is detached, and pontoons secured in place by molten iron on each side.
After multiple different ideas were considered, Antradands government settled with this one, and the construction began. over 200 USPCVs were built, with each one being 510ft long, 50ft tall (80ft with scraper), and 65ft wide.
The USPCV would have 2 large tanks on each side to hold the molten iron, and 3 dispensers on the roof behind the scraper, which would extrude the molten iron. Due to the size of the USPCVs and how many would be built, they would be completely unpainted to save resources, and after the plate was finished, all USPCVs would be scrapped for their resources.
The entire construction took 15 years to finish with the help of Denmark, Germany, Canada, The United States, Mexico, England Ireland, Indonesia, France, Australia, Austria, China, Japan, Iran, Finland, Brazil, Argentina, Peru & South Korea.
After all the ice melted, the lost ice was replaced by rock, dirt, and sand by conventional means, which took another 5 years.
After the construction of The Plate was finished, all USPCVs were scrapped except for one, which was sold to the Arctic History & Preservation Museum in Antradands state of Bronid.

2024.05.21 22:09 toolshome Where to watch movie Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire for free
After years of waiting, the highly anticipated Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire finally hit streaming services last week. As a huge fan of the previous Monster-Verse movies like Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, I had sky-high expectations - and I'm thrilled to report that the film exceeded every one of them. If you're wondering where to watch Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire online or how to watch it for free, read on!
From the opening scene, it's clear this is a Monster-Verse movie like no other. We're thrown right into the action as Godzilla and Kong engage in a city-leveling battle royale that makes their previous clash in Godzilla vs Kong look like a schoolyard tussle. The visual effects team truly outdid themselves, bringing a visceral realism to the kaiju combat that makes you feel every thunderous blow.
But the movie is about far more than just monster mayhem. At its core is a richly developed plot that expands the Monster-Verse mythology in shocking and rewarding ways. We discover that Godzilla and Kong's rivalry is but a small part of an ages-old conflict between the Titans and a technologically-advanced human civilization bent on controlling them. Protagonists from past films return in critical roles, their actions having unpredictable and far-reaching consequences.
The human characters are also given much more depth and nuance here compared to previous Monster-Verse entries. Particular standouts are Dr. Serizawa's son (played by John Boyega in a star-making turn), who is trying to prevent an all-out war between humans and Titans, and Ilene Andrews' daughter (Tessa Thompson), now the head of Monarch and caught between the factions. Their personal journeys carry real emotional weight and provide the perfect counterbalance to the spectacular monster battles.
Speaking of which, every action set piece in The New Empire delivers in spades. From Kong using a tank as a baseball bat to Godzilla taking on multiple Titans in Rome, each feels like a mini-movie in itself, crammed with holy $%*# moments and jaw-dropping visual brilliance. The finale, which I won't spoil here, has to be seen to be believed - an audacious, face-melting climax that took my breath away.
Ultimately, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the total package - an effects extravaganza, action masterpiece, and deep dive into the Monster-Verse all rolled into one. It not only lives up to the groundwork laid by previous films but expands on it in thrilling, unpredictable ways, leaving me desperate to revisit this world again. If you haven't streamed it yet, do yourself a favor and watch it immediately with that ultra-crisp 4K upgrade - this is a cinematic experience meant to be seen on the biggest screen possible. Just be prepared to pick your jaw up off the floor when it's over. You can watch Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire online on streaming services like HBO Max, or try to find ways to watch it for free on certain websites.

2024.05.21 21:06 CampingWorld What Are The Best RV Trips for Beginners?
Thereβs a lot to learn when youβre new to RVing. After purchasing your RV and equipping it with the right gear, the last thing you want is to feel overwhelmed trying to select where to camp. So we asked the question: what are the best RV trips for beginners?
Of course, we have our own opinions, but we wanted to see what the RV community felt. We asked experienced RVers which destinations or campgrounds they would recommend for beginners. With over 150 replies, here are the top five answers:
- Somewhere close to home
- State parks
- Good Sam Campgrounds
- Your backyard
- National parks
(Runner-up: Wal-Mart parking lot).
Why Stay Close to Home on Your First RV Trip as a Beginner?
The overwhelming majority of experienced RVers recommended sticking to somewhere close to home as a beginner. Their reasons were practical:
- You know where to go (home or familiar stores) if you forget supplies.
- Youβre not far from your community if you need help.
- If something breaks down, towing your RV back to your house won't take long or cost too much.
- You do less driving and more time getting familiar with your RV.
- You wonβt hurt your wallet on gas expenses if you overpack (which most first-timers do!)
Boondocking in your backyard is a great way to
learn about your RV and its systems. Just remember: Depending on your RV, youβll need potable water, a way to empty your holding tanks, and a proper power supply β
30 or 50 amps.
Which Locations Make For The Best RV Trips for Beginners?

2024.05.21 19:50 BilliosSphere68 My mech buffs wishlist
Hello my fellow divers and mech enjoyers, I think we all know the mech is in a pretty bad state right now, however I have only seen people talk about the rockets being terrible when I feel it has a few other issues which would keep it weak, frustrating, and sometimes detrimental to your team. These changes and suggestions are mainly coming from my experience of almost exclusively playing against difficulty 9 Automatons but should also apply to the bug front.
Now the first big issue is of course the rockets I think that the rockets are actually pretty good damage wise being able to take a tank out in just 2-3 rockets to the turret but the problem of course comes from actually hitting the turret. It regularly takes up to 5 or 6 rockets because you really just have no control over where they land. I fire one rocket, it flies over the turret I adjust my aim down and now my next two shots hit the treads. Same thing with hulks except I have no clue how many rockets it "should" take, I have never actually managed to kill a hulk in less than 4 rockets because I just hit the arms and legs constantly. I could go on and on about the rockets performance but I think more talk about the rockets sucking is unnecessary.
The Verdict: Accuracy seems to be the only real issue making the rockets unusable, I feel like the damage is probably fine where is it but maybe it's different for bugs. One nice change along with the accuracy fix would be an increase to velocity to help at longer ranges and better precision against things like bike titan heads.
Now the second issue i have with my beloved mech is actually with the mini gun, similar to the rockets I think it hits hard, rightfully so, but it's accuracy really hurts against bots. When I'm stuck dueling 3 rocket devastators at 80m (scary) it sucks having to burn 150 rounds for each of them because the spread is so strong. When I'm aiming at the head half my shots miss and the other half just hit the front medium armor. Same with scout striders when trying to hit that part under the shield but it's less noticable because striders typically fight at closer ranges.
The verdict: A simple accuracy buff should make the mini gun feel much better against bots. But a penatration buff instead of accuracy to let it take hulks out through the eyes and let the mech not be helpless against gunships would also feel great.
Now for the last really big issue which I actually find to be more frustrating than the rockets. The aggro range, If I don't abandon my mech after after every encounter I called it in for I'm actually just trolling my team. This thing aggros EVERYTHING with in about 100m pulling patrols, random tanks, cannon turrets, this is especially bad against bots with the whole sniping with rockets thing but I bet it's annoying pulling hordes of hunters against the bugs. Now you might say the you are supposed to abandon the mech after every encounter, and I know it's not meant to take you through the whole mission but the aggro isnt only an issue when moving around the map out of combat. If I call it in to say, clear an outpost I pull the aggro of the patrol that would have just passed by, if I call it in to handle a bot drop that has us in a bad spot I alert the 3 rocket devastators guarding a tiny POI promptly delivering me a 12 rocket volley to the back. It is so painful how calling it in can actually make an encounter 10x harder if I don't notice the patrol or group of devastators 100m out.
The verdict: I don't think the mech should be able to stealth but it is excessively anti-stealth as it is. Drop the aggro radius to 50m or so and it might make it better giving me at least a chance to see and avoid patrols.
I could go on and on about suggestions, upgrades, and balancing with the mech but I'll save that for maybe another post. Please do also share your thoughts and ideas for my beloved mech.

2024.05.21 18:31 VastComplaint6894 Linamar LX790
I have a Linamar LX790 put into a 316 John Deere garden tractor and Iβm thinking of putting a diesel engine oil in it even though it has a gas engine. The diesel engine oil I wanna put into it is 10w-40 Shell Rotella but Iβm not sure if itβs gonna ruin my engine because the engine only has 433 hours on it. I have attached the engine oil recommendation for the motor and Iβm just not sure if I can put a diesel engine oil in it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

2024.05.21 18:10 PositiveParticular40 Just wanted to show off my sassy boys!
Before anyone comes for me about the size - these bowls are TEMPORARY. I frequent a PetSmart for supplies and bugs for my tarantula, and Iβve gotten to know one of the employees there. These two had been in cups for about 2-3 months, not in great shape when I got them, and she practically gave them to me. I think I paid $5 for both. I use these bowls as nurseries and to see their personalities. These I keep cycled, tannins, and heavily planted with filters/heaters. I also keep up with water maintenance and check parameters often. In the short amount of time Iβve had them they have both bounced back beautifully and their colors are getting much more vibrant and healthy! I got to see what their true personalities are before moving them. Iβm still thinking of their names, but my pink boy is very docile and social (he loves his snail friends) so he will go to a community tank. I think will get along well with my shrimp and bottom dwellers. As for my red crown tailβ¦. he flares if one so much as crosses his path, even at mini ramshorns. So I think he will be an only fish and hopefully less angry at snails with more space π Iβm currently rearranging my fish room, once Iβm done these two will move on to their bigger forever homes and Iβll post an update if anyone is interested submitted by PositiveParticular40 to bettafish [link] [comments]

2024.05.21 17:14 pen-h3ad How do we avoid becoming the 2024 hornets (or pistons) during this rebuild? On paper, the hornets did everything right since 2019 and had a good roster. Is it as simple as establishing a good culture?
The hornets traded Kemba for terry, drafted PJ Washington, jalen duren, tanked for lamelo and miller and signed some guys like bridges and hayward. Realistically, I donβt think you can expect to do much better than that.
You could say βeasy, just get a guy like Cooper Flaggβ or whatever, but they reality is that we are a lot more likely to end up with a core like PJ/duren/lamelo/miller than we are to end up with Flagg/wemby/banchero etc.
So, what can we do different to avoid being 21-61 after 5 years of rebuilding? I personally think culture is a big part of it. I think the hornets in particular have really shit culture and have trouble keeping guys like lamelo, boi knight, bridges etc in check. Teams like Orlando, Cleveland and OKC seem to have a much better culture. OKC is almost an outlier though because they stockpiled a record number of picks, but Orlando and Cleveland seem to be a more likely blueprint to success for us.
One other thing I can think of is roster construction. I always thought lamelo and terry were a terrible fit for example. You could say the same about Cade and Ivey without any real shooters. But you can also argue that both teams went best player available, so thatβs a tough one to argue about. Iβm not sure how we avoid that one. For example, if we draft Sarrisacher this year and then land Flagg/bailey next year with no real guards or centers then we would be in a similar position.
Obviously you have other things like asset building (revamping trade values, taking on bad contracts, etc) that Detroit and Charlotte did not do well, but I donβt think itβs quite that simple.
But what else can we do? Do you guys think itβs as simple as culture?

2024.05.21 16:37 berrythebarbarian More Critical Fixes
Some of them aren't even jokes.
Reaper ult now does more damage the closer you are to him. 800 across its duration if you're up next to him, 400 at the edges. Imagine killing people with Reaper ult. In this economy.
Alternate Comp modes. As in, you keep standard role que but replace the unlimited mode no one plays or takes seriously with more interesting things. Like a PtR for test ideas and goofy shit that will only be fun for a month or so. Overwatch but each role only has 5 heroes. 6v6 role que but it's GOATS. Blizz would love this, give them a bit of promotion and you have a mini-event whenever you want.
Tank Bastion. Just make him 10% bigger, wiggle his damage numbers a bit, up the boop on his grenade, old ult, and give him an aircraft carrier skin. This idea has gotten worse since the addition Mauga, who does a similar thing but I fucking hate him.
Support Torb loses Overload and gets armor pack back, but now it replaces HP instead of layering armor on top of it. You probably have to scrap the scrap mechanic and put it on a cooldown, but the vision is there.
Bap loses heal burst because what a fucking boring ability, and gains Full Auto. At the cost of slowing his grenade shots his gun shoots faster for a bit. Or you could just give him a boopless Coach Gun. He's an army type gunshoot guy, he should get a gun ability.
This isn't a fix but speedboost is such a good ability and it haunts me that I can't think of another way to do it that isn't just Lucio again.
Lifeweaver loses Petal. A support shouldn't have two abilities to move people around. I don't know why I feel this way but I strongly think it's the right call. My first idea to replace it is Bramble, he throws a little ball of vines that covers an area and slows enemies. But that's off the top of my head.
Iliari loses heal turret and gains a Genji dash. Is this balanced? Who fucking cares, gun-sword needs to do more than be a melee animation.
Old Orissa Old Orissa Old Orissa Old Orissa.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
EDIT: Moira Doomslayer. She charges at you and grabs you, imobilising you both for a second or so as she steals health. And also fix the rest of her somehow.

2024.05.21 09:35 MustrumRidcully0 The Cosmogenesis Space Shuttle Mini-Game
I played a Machine Gestalt with the PaperclipAI civic that went Nanites and then decided to also try became the Cosmogenesis Crisis. PaperclipAI and Cosmogeneiss are definitely at odds - towards the end, you are basically deliberately tanking your production capacity and can't possibly achieve your quotas anymore, Unless you really have a very small empire and it finishes quickly. Definitely don't recommend this particular combination, especially with the cnstant nanite swarms exceeding my naval capacity...
But it's mostly because of the final mini-game:
Flying your Horizon Needle to all your planets and embarking the population! Since I can't turn Sectors into vassals as regular Machine Mind, my only options were to easy click all my pops into the COsmogenesis Megastructure, or on some planet, or send the needle to fly to every planet.
Arguably, despite being annoying at the time, it's a lot more time efficient and less work-intensive and frustrating than constant wars and blowing up stars with your planet star eaters. But I really wish there was an auto-embark feature on the needle like the auto-explore for science vessels, I am a hive mind, not a bus driver!
Otherwise, Cosmogenesis is of course cool (hey, let's alter some universal constants, what could go wrong?) and no doubt powerful.

2024.05.21 08:38 External_Discussion8 Would this be a good reef tank stand?
I just purchased an aqua one mini reef 180, the stand has extensive water damage to one corner. I am currently leak testing the tank and sump to see if either are the culprit but and sourcing a new stand- what do you guys think about this? Tank is 900mmx45mmx45mm with a corner weir, this is 1200widex54deep. Many thanks in advance and happy reefing π πͺΈ submitted by External_Discussion8 to ReefTank [link] [comments]
2024.05.21 07:01 amo8s Finally successful
4.5 months. First CO2 setup. S repens not thriving tbh. Reinecki mini only 2 survived. Started with all tissue culture. Dark start for 3-4 weeks before planting. 40 gallon breeder. Using easy green one pump daily. Root tabs every few months. Have some hair algae but not anything compared to my non CO2 tanks. Any questions I'll answer! Not a pro but this is far better than previous tanks. Invested a lot, probably 700+ worth it for results. Only have a pleco in here. Lol submitted by amo8s to Aquascape [link] [comments]
