2024.05.15 00:17 PyroIsSpai Are UFOs impacted by energies and gravitational anomalies generated by fault lines? A few new clues and questions from a claimed UFO Program leaker on a similar subreddit.

0. High level summary

I propose that fault lines may play a significant and under documented role in what is happening with UFOs and specifically the impact of fault lines on some number of UFO related crashes. I suspect energetic effects from fault lines and gravity effects from mass variances in fault lines (especially while active) impact UFO/NHI navigational systems. They may do things like routing around, or via, fault lines.

1. A new leaker: Dijkstra's algorithm and Diablo Canyon.

On May 13th, 2024, a claimed leaker on UFO/NHI related programs posted on /Aliens with details on their history with the "Program".
It's a huge volume of data but one very particular passage instantly stuck out to me:
"The craft use a system that originally befuddled generations of researchers, but it's essentially a 3D dijkstra algorithm. It finds points around the craft, and chooses the most efficient possible route through space time to get to that point. Some of the parameters it uses to gauge efficiency are totally unknown to us and are a serious point of contention. It's not autonomy, but rather obstacle avoidance not unlike what you would see in a self-driving car. But, the self driving car could go through air, space and water without worrying about what medium its in. Additionally, the algo accounts for the crafts place in time."
And then this surprising sentence shortly after:
"Although the algo is extremely effective, Nuclear explosions and experiments somehow interfere with this navigation. Craft particularly avoid Diablo Canyon, even if we put something they really want there."
So, this Dijkstra's algorithm and Diablo Canyon.
I can find not one single prior reference to this anywhere, ever, in all of Ufology prior to that Reddit post.
I think this is entirely new, or new to the Internet for UFO topics.
In a 3D version of Dijkstra's algorithm, the algorithm extends from two-dimensional plane navigation to three-dimensional environments, making it suitable for applications such as drone flight paths, underwater vehicle navigation, or spacecraft trajectory planning. The algorithm begins at a starting node, exploring all neighboring nodes and continuously updating the shortest known distances from the start to each node, considering all possible paths. By repeating this process until the destination node is reached, the algorithm ensures that the path with the minimal total distance or cost is selected, taking into account the complexities of moving through 3D space. So, we have the introduction of a known means of navigation, that does 4D (by inclusion of a temporal parameter) mapping in this model.
Then we have the inclusion of Diablo Canyon -- but there are six of these in North America. Three of these are very close to government sites.
Which could the leaker be talking about? And why is it interesting in the context of UFOs?
Why would a UFO avoid a canyon?

2. Energy fields, UFO navigation and "fault lines" in gravity.

There are numerous reports and stories of things like claimed lasers, directed energy weapons/fields, and even allegedly things like RADAR having some manner of detecable impact on navigational capabilities of UFOs/NHI craft. The lore is full of this topic over time, and it aligns substantially with the scientific backgrounds of people known to be involved, like Sean M. Kirkpatrick.
This caught my eye as I've been doing a lot of reading on certain much lesser-known effects of fault lines, after I learned that the home and neighborhood I lived in as a child, where a group of us saw a "saucer", was literally sat atop a small land mass completely encircled like an island by fault lines. This is not unique--there are others. But this was a wild surprise to me, and especially when the flight path of the ship we saw... once I saw the fault lines path/heading...
It was the same route. The thing we saw, once I saw the fault line maps... it was like looking at a snippet of a Google Maps route that the UFO took, for the duration of our experience seeing it. I did not know this for decades.
For the curious, the bread crumb that led down this path was not this whistleblower, fault lines, or my own experience. It was studying Lagrange Points.
What's a Lagrange point?
Positions in space where the gravitational forces of two large bodies, like Earth and the Moon, balance out the centripetal force felt by a smaller object, allowing it to remain in a stable position relative to the two larger bodies. Think of it like the mid-way point between any two bodies with mass that impact gravity. Earth/Jupiter. JupiteSun. Earth moon/Neptune. You/your cat. It's not a 50/50 thing; if you are and your cat are 10 feet away, it's not 5-foot between you. It's also impacted by gravity from other bodies within range (and range is infinite because gravity is, no matter how infinitesimal at long distances).
There is even conceptually such a place, even if it's trivial in variation, between galaxies.
Keep in mind: there are specifically named 3D mapped always-moving (as Earth/moon for example) always-in-motion Lagrange points for the Earth and Moon. Five total--but those are just the optimal ones. There would be a relative band of space where overall the gravity between bodies is more balanced.
Almost like a fault line in gravity, huh?
That, the fault line discovery related to my experience, and my (then) unrelated fault line research which was pure curiosity unrelated to UFOs... at first.

3. Piezoelectrics, Electrokinetics, and Gravitational anomalies.

So we have a new claimed 4D mapping/navigational tool by NHI UFOs, and that they go out of their way to avoid some "Diablo canyon" no matter what we do. We know definitively there are places where gravity can have relative weak spots, due to the balancing of gravitational waves/forces/mass between bodies. All bodies with mass produce gravity... including tectonic plates.
But that's not all they produce in terms of energy.
Fault lines can generate three different distinct effects beyond seismic (shaking/motion) impacts on the world.
They are:
Stress-induced Piezoelectric Effects
Stress-induced piezoelectric effects refer to the generation of electrical charges in certain crystalline materials, such as quartz, when mechanical stress is applied. These effects are caused by tectonic stress and strain in the Earth's crust, which deforms the crystalline structures, generating electric fields. At the surface, these effects can disrupt local power grids, cause voltage fluctuations, and affect sensitive electronic equipment. In the atmosphere, piezoelectric effects can lead to changes in the ionosphere, affecting radio signal propagation and GPS accuracy up to altitudes of around 600 km. In space, the impacts are typically observed as changes in ionospheric electron density, detected by satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO), such as those at altitudes up to 1,200 km.

  2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seismoelectrical_method
Electrokinetic Effects
Electrokinetic effects are electrical phenomena that occur when a fluid (such as groundwater) moves through a porous medium (like soil or rock) under the influence of a pressure gradient. These effects are caused by the movement of ionized fluids through the Earth's subsurface, which can be influenced by tectonic activity, fluid injection, or natural fluid migration. At the surface, electrokinetic effects can alter groundwater flow, impact water supply systems, and cause electrical disturbances in subsurface sensors. In the atmosphere, these effects are less direct but can influence humidity and ionization levels, which may affect weather radar and communication systems. In space, electrokinetic effects are typically not directly observed; however, related ionospheric disturbances from fluid movement in the Earth's crust can be detected by satellites at altitudes up to 1,200 km.

  2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrokinetic_phenomena
Gravity Anomalies
Gravity anomalies are variations in the Earth's gravitational field caused by differences in the distribution of mass within the Earth. These anomalies are caused by subsurface geological structures such as mountains, valleys, fault lines, and varying rock densities. On the surface, gravity anomalies can affect precise geodetic measurements, influence surveying accuracy, and impact construction projects that rely on gravitational data. In the atmosphere, gravity anomalies can slightly influence the flight paths of aircraft and atmospheric satellites, but these effects are generally minimal. In space, gravity anomalies are detected by satellites like the GRACE mission at altitudes of around 500 km, affecting satellite orbit calculations and providing data on Earth's subsurface structures and water distribution.

4. The impact of fault lines on UFOs.

Disturbances related to stress-induced piezoelectric effects, electrokinetic effects, and gravity anomalies have been observed and recorded at various altitudes. Here are some notable examples across different categories:
A) Stress-induced Piezoelectric Effects
  • High-altitude Observations: Piezoelectric effects typically influence ground-based systems such as power grids and sensors. There is limited data on their direct impact at high altitudes. However, atmospheric electrical phenomena, such as changes in the ionosphere related to seismic activity, have been noted up to several hundred kilometers above the Earth's surface. These are often detected by satellites in low Earth orbit.
B) Electrokinetic Effects
  • High-altitude Observations: Electrokinetic effects primarily affect subsurface and near-surface fluid dynamics. There is no significant evidence of direct electrokinetic phenomena being observed at high altitudes. However, related atmospheric effects, such as changes in humidity or ionization, can indirectly influence atmospheric layers.
C) Gravity Anomalies
  • High-altitude Observations: Gravity anomalies have been detected at high altitudes, including by aircraft and satellites. Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellites, for example, operate at altitudes of approximately 500 km and have provided detailed maps of gravity anomalies across the Earth.

Specific High-altitude Observations

  1. Ionospheric Disturbances Related to Seismic Activity:
    • Altitude: Up to 600 km.
    • Impact: Changes in electron density in the ionosphere, detected by satellites.
  2. Gravity Anomalies Detected by GRACE Satellites:
    • Altitude: Approximately 500 km.
    • Impact: Detailed mapping of Earth's gravity field, revealing variations due to tectonic and other geological processes.

Summary

  • Stress-induced Piezoelectric Effects: Up to ionospheric altitudes (~600 km) via indirect atmospheric electrical phenomena.
  • Electrokinetic Effects: Primarily near-surface, with no significant direct high-altitude observations.
  • Gravity Anomalies: Up to satellite altitudes (~500 km), with significant observations by GRACE and similar missions.
Reports say that the navigational apparatus of UFOs can be impacted by energy fields, implying this plays a role in their crashing. Similar claims revolved around electromagnetic fields.

5. Why would UFOs avoid "Diablo Canyon"?

We need to know which one it is. The most likely based on the intersection of fault lines; fault lines with impacts; and near proximity to notable UFO-related locations--Vandenburg and Los Alamos--leaves us with New Mexico and the nuclear power planet.
Here are all nearby relevant fault lines for each.
This section took a substantial amount of digging/cross referencing over weeks. I had begun this for a fiction/story idea that didn't pan out, and did not save the litany of sources I read. This is a summary.

A) Diablo Canyon Power Plant, California

  • Hosgri Fault Zone

    • Gravity Anomalies
      • Specific Locations: Near Los Alamos National Laboratory.
      • Relative Strength: Notable, with detailed mapping providing insights into fault mechanics.

6. Conclusion

Simply, some variables on the navigational systems of the UFO craft which rely on precise 4-dimensional mapping for their navigational system, with implied near real time adjustments across all parameters, are negatively impacted by unexpected or significant enough to not be able to compensate for impacts from native Earth effects generated by tectonic plate actions, in specific key locations.
I'd often suspected if there was something like this related to the handful of known crashes, and them seeming to be concentrated in certain areas. With this leaker, we see another few possible pieces of a puzzle filling.
Are they legitimate? We obviously can't tell, today. But this new data sure does align with:
  1. Reports of the USA trying to "bait" UFOs.
  2. Reports of the USA utilizing nuclear facilities to this end.
  3. UFO engagement with nuclear sites.
  4. UFOs reportedly avoiding certain areas, not limited to prior crash locations.
  5. UFOs reportedly being seen over time in similar or comparable routes/locations.
  6. The USA getting big into gravity research along these lines (gravity scanners for military).
  7. Elizondo references to LIGO.
  8. And more beyond, that I'm sure more of you can recite from memory than I could.
Maybe this has some part of the genesis of the mythology of ley lines, because ancient humans couldn't possibly on their own know all these things. Were they just energetically charged fault lines that had some manner of intersection over time with UFOs?
If anyone wants to run with this or research equivalent sites in other parts of the world and their intersection with UFOs/UAPs, this may be a worthwhile rabbit hole for pursuit.

2024.05.15 00:16 Nebuulaaa Enduring grief, 10 years on.

Just over 9 years ago, my father died. I am now 21, but I was 12 at the time.
More so now than ever, I'm trying to learn to grow into adulthood with a healthy relationship of the grief of my childhood. Really, I'm struggling.
I remember nothing between 8 and 12 other than suffering. I lost two grandparents (the other two had already passed long before), an auntie and uncle, and a cousin in law. Growing up, my life felt defined by death.
My father had a brain tumour, diagnosed around the time I was born. My parents divorced when I was 8, my father moved into his own flat, and things got progressively worse following it.
My father was a proud man, a refugee from Hungary who worked his way to a job in tech. He was extremely loving, and held strong moral principles. Seeing this made fade over time crushed me.
I watched my father die over a number of years, of which I hold countless, horrible, memories. I remember hugging him, feeling little but bone and saying; 'Dad, you need to eat!'. I remember him arguing with my mothrt when she used to buy him food and clean his flat, she cared deeply about him and did all she could. He just didn't want it, I think he had given up. I remember watching the news with him once, and he said 'the thing about the news is, it's only designed to be watched for 15 minutes at a time, that's why they repeat themselves'. Now, every time I watch the news I can't help but wreath in pain at the fact that sitting in that flat, dying, alone, watching the same thing over, and over again was his reality. I remember looking at care homes for him with mother and, when she was asked by the staff whether he was terminal, she simply stated 'yes, he will sadly die'. I remember the period leading up to his death. He had fallen in his flat, and, if it weren't for my Mum demanding that the staff let us in, he would have died there alone. I remember seeing him fallen. I remember the care home that treated him horribly, sometimes we'd visit and he'd be lying on the floor in only his t-shirt. Worst of all, I remember seeing him on the brink of death at the hospital in his final days. I remember the drive to hospital the night he died. I will never forget what seeing my father about to die felt like.
Part of me doesn't even know why I have just typed out my most traumatic memories of my father's life on Reddit. I know I have been wanting to post for awhile, I guess I just found it too difficult.
Honestly, I am simply in pain. It hurts so badly. I cannot shake the memories. They feel like they define me, like I will never be able to escape the feeling of death that follows me around.
For those who have gotten this far, thank you for taking the time to read this. If you have any advice, please let me know. I'm struggling.

2024.05.15 00:14 Double_Geologist_672 I feel pain since I broke up with my girlfriend

I'm a 20-year-old male. I had a relationship with a girl for 4 years, and I think she's the love of my life, and I'll never forget her.
Our relationship was perfectly good, and for the first time, I felt that I had a person who could accept me even though I'm an introvert and have inner weaknesses that I cover up by giving the impression that I am emotionally cold and strong.
We discovered our sexual preferences with each other, and it was just enjoyable. We planned to stay with each other forever, and I trusted her.
Two months ago, we separated because she wanted to go to France, and I was strongly opposed to this idea. I convinced her that I would not bear her absence while she was around other people. I was really fearful for her because she is not strong enough to go alone to another country. Every time I convinced her that studying in France would not add value to her CV, we returned to the same topic every week, month, or two, whenever I thought the topic was over.
The last time I told her to choose whether to stay with me forever or to leave from now on forever, she responded with silence. When she wanted to talk to me, I shut her up so that she would first answer my question and choose before saying any word to me. She ended the matter by disappearing, and when she returned, we argued, and I insulted her violently, so she blocked me from all applications. I thought it was normal, and that she would understand the stage of anger, and that I was not ready to lose her, and I was afraid of losing her, so what I feared happened.
I now live blaming myself, and that I was the reason for the loss of the best person who did good to me, and I was sacrificing for her just to make her happy, and now she sees nothing to take into consideration except the bad things that I did.
I don't think I will ever meet an innocent girl like her again, and I feel that she was the reason for my weakness in her presence and now in her absence.

2024.05.15 00:13 yvettebansal Understanding 221G Administrative Processing: How to Stay Clear of Common Pitfalls

The USA non-immigrant visa application has a hurdle known as 221G administrative processing. It's evident that every other applicant tries their level best not to get stuck in 221g administrative processing. However, to avoid it, an applicant must be aware of what that term means and what measures can be taken to dodge getting into it. Let's start the guide by understanding the meaning and having a look at specific strategies.

221G Administrative Processing in a Glance

221G falls under INA, which stands for the USA Immigration & Nationality Act. It grants the opportunity for visa officers to put an application on hold if they are not able to decide at the moment. Visa officers generally issue 221G in case of missing an essential document, insufficient answers in an interview, etc.
The good news for applicants is that the 221G is not the worst-case scenario and doesn't mean your visa application is rejected. It simply means that your application is on hold or pending, and no decision has been made on your case.

Here's what you can do to avoid falling under the 221G process.

How to Stay Clear of H1B Administrative Processing?
Here are specific tips that'll help you to stay clear of H1B administrative processing.
The Visa officer will be asking you about your job, area of work, duties, and responsibilities there. A clear understanding of your job description and what you'll be doing there is of utmost importance.
Above-average communication skills and a strong command of the English language will help you convey and express your thoughts, opinions, and answers better to the visa officer. Factors like the right tone and pitch are communication skills and are critical to showing confidence in answers.
In case of doubts or lack of confidence, you can select to go for a visa consultation and ask for an expert's advice. Getting a USA visa consultation from an ex-visa officer can help you work on your weaknesses and prepare you for the visa appointment.
A candidate is ready to enter a foreign country to work for a company. It's quite obvious that the visa officer expects the candidate to have complete knowledge of the company, such as what it deals with, the number of employees, the hiring and reporting manager, etc.
The visa officer might ask you questions about how you got the job, where you got to know about the hiring, etc. To stay clear of H1b processing, candidates must prepare for most-asked questions in the interview and prepare for the answers with their friends or practice in the mirror to gain confidence.
Some of these questions are mentioned below.

Bonus: List of Most-Asked Questions

Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions, for which you must prepare and perform research.
Preparing for these questions, performing advanced research, and being honest throughout the visa interview are the best ways to stay clear of 221G administrative processing.

Final Thoughts

Acting cleverly and trying to confuse the visa officer can lead to the candidate's rejection under 221G processing, which will only delay the process for the applicant. Make sure you've organized all the required verified documents and have proper interview practices.
These tips will help you understand H1B administrative processing and how to avoid it successfully during your visa process.

2024.05.15 00:12 eonbastian Is it THAT impossible landing a job when 50? 🤔 I literally passed by 1600 applications in LinkedIn and nothing …

Male, currently 49 ( but literally applying since 42), overly educated (2 bachelor degrees, 2 master degrees and one extra long term leadership program) with studies funded over time by both the European Commission and the ministry of education in Japan, with a 20+ civil servant career inclusing management roles heading teams from 5 to 300 people, EU citizen based in Eastern Europe. I also have some start up experience (but truth be yold those start ups are more of a couple of learning experiences rather than successfull businesses yet happened in two different countries, with various degrees of knowledge in multiple languages (for instance although I am not able to speak it, combining what I know with using translation software solutions I really am able to email in Dutch, French, Italian, Greek and Japanese).
Have the above profile in mind and feel free to share your input over one simple question: how on Earth is it thag no matter how important or not the job I applied was, in the end I never got anywhere. I am really fed up with recruiters’ ignorance as I literally got reject even for a job of merchendise handler in a supermarket in Belgium with the explanation: my profile is not fit as I am not trilingual and fluent (Dutch, French, English). I could not believe what I was reading. I mean, I managed 309 people for a year and a half in a governmental agency and that recruiter is replying my application telling me a bunch of crap like that .
Any recruiters out there? Any feedback? (Yes, Flanders in Belgium is my preferred destination)
Thank you for any feedback!

from PM Pashinyan's speech at Copenhagen Democracy Summit:

PASHINYAN: Democracy has indeed become a reality in Armenia. Before the 2018 Velvet Revolution, massive electoral frauds were the usual companion of elections in Armenia. There was no trust among the citizens that there was a real chance for them to elect the government.
Now the situation is totally different; citizens know that they are powerful enough to decide. The two general elections that were held in Armenia after the Velvet Revolution have been acknowledged as democratic, free, and competitive both by the Armenian society and the international community.
Armenia made huge progress in strengthening the democratic institutions, an achievement reflected in reputable democracy indexes:
(a) Now we are the 43rd in the Reporters Without Borders’ Freedom of Speech index, compared to 79th place in 2017.
(b) Categorized as having partially free internet in 2017 by Freedom House, now we enjoy the status of a country with free internet.
(c) In Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index, Armenia is now 62nd instead of 107th in 2017.
(d) In the Economist Intelligence Unit’s democracy index we are 84th compared to 111th in 2017.
In order to assess this progress, it's essential to note that alongside democratic reforms, Armenia has been contending with external security challenges: the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan's invasion of Armenia in 2021 and 2022 and the occupation of over 200 km2 amid inaction by [Russia's] CSTO, the forced displacement of over 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, have cast doubts among Armenian citizens weather democracy is the right choice. So, democracy needs to prove its efficiency while dealing with security, economic and humanitarian challenges.
We are pleased with the deployment of EU monitoring mission alongside the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and we welcome EU’s decision to expand its capacity. On the other hand, we hope for the inclusion of Armenia into the European Peace Facility and in this regard, we rely on the support of all EU member states [Hungary].
A new set of commitments aimed at strengthening Armenia’s economic resilience, state institutions, and addressing the humanitarian needs of refugees has been taken on by the European Union and United States during the high-level meeting on April 5 in Brussels. The rapid and effective implementation of those commitments is of utmost importance.
Despite all the challenges, we believe that the real and most aspiring companion for democracy is lasting and sustainable peace. My government took the share of its responsibility for this. Recently we reached an agreement with Azerbaijan to launch the delimitation of our interstate borders on the basis of the Almaty Declaration of 1991. That means that during the delimitation we should simply reproduce the Soviet-era administrative borders. This is the implementation of the agreement reached in Prague in 2022. Now it is time to incorporate and reflect those agreements in the peace treaty and have it signed.
Another key point for our regional stability is the «Crossroads of Peace», project, initiated by my government. This project implies that Armenia and Azerbaijan restore and open transport and other communications in accordance with the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries through which they pass, and comply with the principles of equality and reciprocity. These elements of the concept were agreed upon during the July 2023 meeting with Ilham Aliyev and Charles Michel. //

... Politico reporter's Q&A with Pashinyan

REPORTER: [Ex-NATO leader] Anders Fogh Rasmussen called your neighbor an autocracy. You are in a very difficult geopolitical and geographical position. How do you solve the security problem in that environment?
PASHINYAN: I would not like to comment on the internal situation of our neighboring countries. Democracy fully corresponds to the mentality of our people. It is a strategy for our government, it is our political belief, it is also our political identity. The members of our political team have spent most of their lives fighting for democracy, the rule of law, and freedom of speech. Now we have the opportunity to realize all these values in our country.
The security situation was complicated because of the regional and global situation; the world order is collapsing at the moment. My assessment is, and I have had occasion to say this publicly, that the 2020 war was a prelude to further developments. And now the main issue is security.
What is our strategic point of view, how are we going to guarantee the security of our country? Recently, I gave a speech in our parliament, where I said that the most important tool for ensuring security is a foreign policy based on legitimacy. This is the reason why we so often speak about the 1991 Almaty Declaration.
It is very important that during the 2022 Prague meeting, two very important agreements were reached. Armenia and Azerbaijan recognize each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty on the basis of the Almaty Declaration and will use it as the basis for the border demarcation. This is the reason why I said that we are not drawing a new border, we just need to reproduce the existing one on the ground. This process is happening right now, and I hope that we will continue it steadfastly.
REPORTER: The border conflict that has occurred in recent years has had a negative impact on relations with Russia and Russia's role for Armenia. What would you say about this?
PASHINYAN: Armenia is a member of CSTO. We are officially a CSTO member, but I have announced that we have frozen our participation.
REPORTER: So are you still a member or...?
PASHINYAN: It is a matter for further discussion, but it is very important to record the current situation. A crisis arose in our relations after Azerbaijani troops invaded Armenia, and according to CSTO procedures, the Organization and its member states had to support Armenia in this situation. But even after the formal application, the CSTO refused to take any concrete steps, and in fact, that is the main reason for freezing our participation in the CSTO at all levels.
REPORTER: Do you expect the West to occupy the current vacuum and ensure your security?
PASHINYAN: We are diversifying our foreign relations in all spheres. Now we are developing defense cooperation with India, France, and other countries. We have a certain cooperation with the European Union because as I mentioned, we are happy about the deployment of the EU Civilian Observation Mission on the border. It is a civilian mission but in a way, it is a new factor for the security of our region. This is the first time that the European Union participates in the security agenda of Armenia.
REPORTER: Would you like to become an EU member?
PASHINYAN: We are waiting for the EU's decision to include Armenia in the European Peace Facility. We also hope to start visa liberalization negotiations, and last year I announced in the European Parliament that Armenia is ready to be as close to the European Union as the European Union deems it possible. This is our position.
REPORTER: Can you elaborate on what initiatives Armenia is taking in the fight against corruption?
PASHINYAN: We have made huge progress but have not eradicated corruption from Armenia. We must continue to be persistent in the agenda of democratic reforms. This is the reason why cooperation with the European Union is of utmost importance for us because today the European Union is our main partner in the implementation of our democratic reform agenda. We hope that the European Union, as well as the USA, will increase their support to Armenia in the implementation of democratic reforms, because, as I said, democracy is a strategy for us.
By the way, in 2019 we started a Strategic Dialogue with the USA, and today we see the strengthening of our cooperation with the European Union. We recently had a tripartite meeting with the participation of the USA, EU, and Armenia. It was an unprecedented format, where we adopted a huge agenda of institutional and economic reforms. It is also very important that we receive more tangible support from the EU and the US to address the humanitarian needs of the Nagorno Karabakh refugees because it is a very sensitive and emotional issue for us.
REPORTER: In which year would you like Armenia to become a member of the EU?
PASHINYAN: This year [as soon as possible]. //

former regime continues to hold protests and briefly shut down roads in Yerevan with demands for PM Pashinyan's resignation

ԳԼՈՒԽ 1
Dozens of participants were detained and released the same day for blocking roads. The detentions decreased from 170 on Monday to ~63 on Tuesday. They want Pashinyan to resign or to be impeached. The protest organizers visited universities to gather student supporters, some of whom joined them with a dance. The organizers also stopped by at a bakery where they were given free food.
A felony investigation was launched after a police vehicle, "with the sirens on", struck a reporter on the street. In another instance, an investigation was launched against a protester who brought a long sword. One other case was launched over alleged threats made on Facebook by a Galstanyan fan who wants scores of people to be beaten in dalans and exiled from Armenia, "մենակ էտ դեպքում էս սրբազան հողը կմաքրվի էս տեսակ շան ծնունդներից, ուրիշ ձև չկա!!!!"
ԳԼՈՒԽ 2
A ruling faction member of Yerevan City Council complained about "harassment" by opposition figures who are attempting to convince ruling party members to join the protests and the impeachment.
RULING MEMBER: That is not how it works. No one will join you with that conduct. People will join if they see you have a legitimate agenda with trustworthy leaders. Instead, you are "ethnically cleansing" the citizens of Armenia [referring to one opposition speaker telling non-Armenians to leave] և հեռու չէ են օրը երբ դուք գուցե ասեք որ հայ լինելու համար պետք է Հայկ նահապետից տեղեկանք բերել: //

Yesterday the protest co-organizer Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan said he received a report suggesting that the Deputy Rector of Yerevan State University supposedly urged deans and others to retaliate against students who joined the protests. Galstanyan said he was unsure whether the report was true, but decided to read it out loud anyway. On Tuesday he rallied his supporters to the backyard of the University where he demanded to speak with the Deputy Rector for clarification.
The Deputy Rector went downstairs and greeted Galstanyan, who shook her hand but wouldn't let it go for an uncomfortably long period, prompting her to ask him to let go of her hand. The Deputy Rector declared that whatever Galstanyan read about her was a defamatory lie.
GALSTANYAN: I never believed it myself.
DEPUTY RECTOR: Then you should not have said out loud something you did not believe.
GALSTANYAN: Listen, there is a recorded fact...
DEPUTY RECTOR: Where is that "recorded fact"?
GALSTANYAN: It was on the media. As I said yesterday, I had no verification that it was true, which is why we came here to clarify it. If it's false, then I apologize.
DEPUTY RECTOR: Thank you. //
The Deputy Rector urged the protest organizers not to enter the building or disrupt the classes, and that "anyone who wants to follow you can follow you, anyone who wants to stay in classrooms should stay in classrooms".
The angry Deputy Rector left. Another university official criticized Galstanyan for not checking the information before reading it to his followers. Galstanyan said he stands behind his words, and that he was "just reading what was on the media", but reiterated that he had no intention to insult the Deputy Rector.
ԳԼՈՒԽ 4
Galstanyan and his supporters visited the monument dedicated to Operation Nemesis. He praised the figures behind Nemesis for "assuming personal responsibility". In front of the crowd, Galstanyan introduced Hambig Sassounian who recently joined his movement. He pointed to the Nemesis monument and said Sassounian is "one of the successors, one of the brightest people." In related news, on Sunday a ruling faction MP complained about receiving death threats with reference to Operation Nemesis.
ԳԼՈՒԽ 5
DANIEL IOANNESIAN (NGO chief): When this protest dies down, we need to discuss the following: (1) The transparency of political and media funding. There are some regulations in place, but they are incomplete and easily bypassed. For example, I'd like to know who paid for Archbishop Galstanyan's giant stage in Republic Square. In 2018 Pashinyan organized a fundraising for it and disclosed a detailed report. (2) Should the media organizations that do not respect the rules of financial transparency enjoy all the mechanisms for the protection of journalists? (3) Are the customs authorities confident that the church is not facilitating the business activities of certain figures disguised as donations? (4) Is it fair for the church and clergy members not to pay taxes? Should they be able to have a Bently and LX570 without paying taxes? [The "Bentley" is based on a true story.]

2024.05.15 00:09 haterxhaterr [ALL] Do you think it's possible for an open world Zelda game to have a good story?

It's pretty clear that the Zelda team really want to move away from linear 3D zelda's format of the main story campaign, which is understandable because it's really hard to tell a story in the same vein as Ocarina or Windwaker in the open world format without having to compromise the player's freedom (I think Nakey Jakey does a great job at explaining this dilemma on his video on Rockstar's game design).
Everyone agrees that botw/totk's main story is mid, totk's main story is especially disappointing for me because it tries to be as epic as past Zelda games but it's still committed to the way botw told it's story through flashbacks, I understand why they're still using memories as a format to tell the game's story (refer to the first paragraph) but it's so frustrating to watch the story unfold through a flashback insead of actually experiencing it, It holds the story back from being as awesome as it should be and I really wish they got rid of the memories format altogether.
I personally think it's possible for the next Zelda game to tell an epic story without having to rely on flashbacks, and it doesn't have to sacrifice player freedom either, I haven't played it but everyone talks about how Spider-Man (2018) has a great story and those same people talk about how fun the open world is, I think the Zelda team are just too scared to take that risk which is understandable but every day I see another Zelda fan complain about how lame botw/totk's story campain is so they have to address this problem at some point, they can't keep using the same flashback format to tell their stories forever, what do you guys think?

2024.05.15 00:03 VitallyRaccoon Removing embossed letters from sheet metal

I'm working on an ammo can prop. I managed to pick up a handful of ammo cans that are ideal for my application, but they have the Cabela's brand label embossed into the sheet metal. I'm thinking of hammering these out with a mallet if some kind, but I'm not sure what tool would do the best job with the least amount of paint touchup required.
The embossing is about a 1/32" deep and about 2 inches tall at its tallest. Sanding is likely not an option because the embossing seems about as deep as the metal is thick

2024.05.15 00:01 DisplaySalt8451 Application successful! 🎉 and a checklist for those in need

Hello all,
We’ve just received our visa decision letter and it was a yes! It has been a long road and I thank everyone here for the great support you’ve offered, the posts that helped our application with both timelines and checklists, and lastly the super helpful people who answers questions and calm worries. We could not have done this without this subreddit.
As usual, a timeline from us:
We had a long wait for this one even with priority, but received no questions or asks for additional documents / proof.
I used some of the checklists folks provided here, and will give my own below:
Relationship: - Marriage certificate. - individual cover letter from both applicant and sponsor. - Pictures with each other and flight details. All dated. - Passports: All pictures of applicant’s passport pages, ID page of sponsor.
Employment of Sponsor: - 6 months payslips. - 6 months bank statements. - letter from employer confirming job. - Employment contract.
Accommodation: - Letter from landlord. - Tenancy agreement. - Evidence of payments already shown in bank statements. - Council tax form.
Additional requirements: - IELTS certificate. - We did not need a TB test due to country of origin.
I will still continue to battle for the changes made to the Visa requirements as I know some will not have been able to make the deadline. Do let me know if I can help in anyway, with questions or with support to calm nerves.

2024.05.15 00:00 HPThrowawayRP (M4F) Long term Wizarding World RP (Harry Potter)

Hi!
I'm a 21-year-old, semi literate male roleplayer with several years of experience under my belt.
I'm looking for someone who might be interested in a long term Wizarding World based RP. I don't have a particular plot in mind, but generally I like to stick to a mix of slice of life, romance, a little smut, and action (i.e. wizarding war). Ideally, I'd like to see our OCs or CCs grow up in Hogwarts. I'm happy to work in the Marauders era, cannon era. I'm, as aforementioned, happy to roleplay with an OC or CC
My OC it's somewhat unusual, I'll be playing Otso, a young Swedish Part-Giant (1/4) who had to transfer to Hogwarts from his home as his muggle community became suspicious of his and his father's sizes. I have an info sheet to send over if anyone is interested (DM me for details).
More about me;
I'm a 21 year old man,
I'm located in the GMT timezone,
I roleplay on Discord
I'm fairly active, as I have just finished university and work a remote job.
I'd prefer for my partner to be;
19-30 (18+ mandatory),
Semi Literate, as I usually write one consolidated paragraph, but can do more or less depending on what the situation calls for,
Interested in Romance, slice of life and action (smut depending on how comfortable you are with it), and happy to do a long term thing.
As I've said above, my DMs are open - feel free to contact me to see if we mesh. Happy to provide a character bio, a sample of my writing and anything you might want.

She recently hired a second assistant so my schedule went from monday-friday to friday-monday (so I basically just worked the weekend) I was thinking about maybe getting a second job to fill my time and I saw someone post in a local facebook group that they were looking for a personal assistant. I messaged F (31,f) and ended doing a facetime call for a first interview. Everything went great. I turns out that she is a DIY influencer with 4 kids. She wanted help around the house, running errands, occasionally helping out with the kids and some back end stuff for instagram. I thought it would be a perfect fit. I signed a contract in March saying I would work tuesday-thursday from 12-3pm. The first couple of weeks were great. I felt like we were really getting to know each other and we had a lot of similar interests. Gradually it has turned out to be the worst job ever. I have basically become her full time nanny (I don’t like kids) her 4 kids are actually awful. the oldest M (4, f) spent 6 hours last week screaming at me for absolutely everything. When I started for F she told me she hadn’t set up payroll yet but she would be soon. I told her that was completely fine, it has been 2 months and she is still paying me through venmo. As I am writing this I have been at her house for 9 hours. she is only paying me $15 an hour (she tracks my hours so i’m not even sure she’s paying me the right amount every two weeks) I am completely at my end with this job. The only thing is, her husband travels for work a lot so she has basically been a single parent this last month. I feel terrible for her 4 kids (who almost never see their mom/dad) and their dog who she doesn’t take care of (I am the only one who walks and feeds them) Would I be an asshole if I quit even though she’s taking advantage of my kindness?

2024.05.14 23:59 cyhmie my late bloomer brother

So I need some advice for my older brother ( he is 24 and I am 21).
He makes me angry because he has no ambition in life, I can understand that people don't all have big dreams and just want a comfortable life but even for that he does no effort. It's not right if at his age he never really had a job, even a student job and just live free in our parents house where they paid for everything. He spends all his days and nights on videos games and I have nothing against this passion but come on go find a job and bring some money at home instead of doing nothing. I got angry with my parents on this subject because they offers him a iphone 14 for no special occasion, I told them that if he wants a new phone he can just go work and pay for it himself.
For this past four years after finishing high school he did not accomplish nothing. Yes because finished hight school at 20 since he repeat 2 years (one in primary school and one in high school). After highschool he said he wanted to take care of people and so began nurse school but drop out. After that he did nothing and now he's doing a caregiver formation and have like 2 years before his certificate and does nothing more.
I just want him to be independant and doing something in his life. Humanly he is such a good man, I educated him this way, yes because even if he is older he is not mature on some points and so I take often the place of the big sister. He is really kind and everything but he makes me angry being a jobless man in the family and doing nothing of his days.
I personally think that our parents didn't educated us like this. My parents are such hard-working people who migrated from Asia for Europe for a better life and give us everything we needed. I took this hard-working attitude from them and have so much ambition like them, but not him. I'm not here to brag but I am in my fourth year of medicine school and want to be someone so useful in the future too (and also win a lot of money for other projects). He too said that he wanted to work in the health field but does not give himself the means to succeed like I do. I study so hard every day until very late to accomplish my goals and make our parents proud.
I don't know what to do to help him. I want for the minimum to help him being financially independant because independancy begin here and help him become a real adult become for the moment he still is a child.
Do you have some advices to me and him ?

2024.05.14 23:59 sandpaper_skies The internet has been ruined by red tape and constant authentication, as well as generally horrible website reliability, and nothing is convenient on it anymore.

I remember when the internet used to be seen as a convenience. This is no longer the case, and doing literally anything on it at this point is like pulling teeth. The entire internet has been redesigned to protect the absolute lowest common denominator, people who probably shouldn't even be able to use the internet in the first place. Types who will give blatant scammers typing in broken english all of their passwords, download random phishing files, etc. and instead of shaming them into learning, tech people have decided to destroy the internet.
Every single website has 2 factor, sometimes 3 or 4 factor authentication, you have to download individual apps for so many accounts, you constantly have to change passwords and make them increasingly "Unique", so it's genuinely impossible to keep track of them unless you keep a list, which just ends you back up at square one for security. I have four authentication apps on my phone, I've had to change my passwords on multiple student accounts sometimes 6 times a year, and since most websites do this password tracking becomes a clusterfuck and one solitary mistake is enough to send you down a tech support rabbithole nightmare.
Not only that but websites in general just do not function on a basic level, very frequently. I have been incredibly busy with job applications, scholarships, student loans, and registering for classes, and using every single website has been absolute torture. College board had a bug that blocked progress on sending SAT scores for 2 months, because it required me to click an option that didn't exist. Why did it take that long!? The PHEEA grant website (Which is extremely important) was literally "Under maintenance" for around a month, and I checked the website 3 times a day for that length. My student portal is littered with broken links, as was the last one I transferred from, and there are constant awful design decisions that clutter the website and make it incredibly difficult to navigate. There are 3 different passwords and 2 different authentication apps I've had to download to use it, and I forgot to write down my "alternative pin" which is, for a reason god himself only knows, the only way to register for classes, so now I have to call the IT department and recover it, because there isn't an option to do that. Why does this site need multiple passwords?? Why do I even need an "alternative pin"???
I just don't understand why this amazing miracle of technology has to be completely ruined to protect people who are probably going to accidentally walk into traffic or fall out of a window anyway. I don't want or need to have 3 different apps to authenticate student websites that a hacker might get into - what are they gonna do, pay my loans?? Register me for classes??? What is the point? Why do I have to spend several minutes going through apps and emails and my text messages to get into everything? Why are websites consistently broken or poorly designed and they take over a month to get fixed in almost every case?
I've adapted to this by exclusively calling places to place appointments, or figure out questions, just because the internet is so awful now. It doesn't feel even remotely reliable or convenient and the constant airtight security and 2 factor authentication on the website for something innocuous like the goddamned fucking Walmart site or my Student Loan account just makes me not want to log in in the first place. Honestly I feel like a boomer but it makes life so much easier. Has anyone else noticed this?

2024.05.14 23:58 Human-Iron9265 It’s starting to get to me.

Hey everyone.
I am a 21 year old patient. I have stage 4 soft tissue sarcoma in my pelvic area/peritoneum.
I was diagnosed at age 20 in September 2023, so about 8 months ago. This was AFTER two biopsies because we struggled to figure out what I had, thankfully it got sorted out.
Since then, I have had 12 rounds of harsh chemo. 6 round inpatient even, which was absolutely the worst experiences of my life.
After 6 rounds, I was told i’m still inoperable. Sucks honestly, that’s the only real chance of cure for me as it is for many. 6 horrible rounds of the most toxic chemo didn’t do good enough and I was beyond upset and felt extremely defeated. I did have a good response, but unfortunately not enough. So, I started a new regimen, which so far has held it mostly stable with a slight reduction.
I go to MD Anderson every 6 weeks for scans, bloodwork, and meetings with my sarcoma specialist (I live in Missouri), so it’s a long drive. If i’m being honest, I’m starting to get tired of going there. All that happens is I get scanned and basically get told it’s inoperable still and they say “see you in 6 weeks!”. It is getting extremely exhausting doing this now. I’m going back tomorrow and I’m seriously not looking forward to it. Luckily, I am able to receive treatment in Missouri for now.
This past cycle, I felt the worst I ever have. I could barely walk, super weak, chest pain, nausea, and felt like I was legitimately dying. It was a surreal and indescribable feeling. I could even stand for more than two minutes.
After a few days, I kinda felt better. I decided to try and do some yard work. I have lost so much weight that I barely weigh enough to sit on the lawn mower and it dies due to safety reasons. Also, when I used the weed wacker, I was not even strong enough to get it running like I used to. By the time I finally got everything done, I was absolutely shot. Tired for the rest of the day. I slept like 15 hours after that.
I miss my old life, like every single person dealing with cancer does. I get slightly envious of my friends and kids my age having fun/not having the struggles I do. I feel I can no longer relate to anyone who isn’t a cancer patient anymore. I have even just distanced myself from everyone because of the way I look. I really just don’t want to scare anyone.
I seriously wish I could cancel my MD Anderson trip. I just need a break, something, but I know the cancer will spread, but honestly I really don’t care anymore. I have already pretty much been told i’ll be treating this chronically, which is NOT happening. I’m not doing that chemo for life b.s.
I’m getting weaker and I can feel it. People are wondering why I don’t visit or come around anymore. It’s simply because I don’t feel up to it and I really just want to be alone. I’m not going to pretend everything is fine when it’s not. Everyone keeps saying “keep fighting” and the dreaded “be positive”, but honestly I’m close to being done. This is NOT a life, for anyone. People really don’t get it at all. Why do I want to only have about one week where I feel descent?
I also had just graduated flight school and started a great job and was then diagnosed and all of it was ripped away.
I guess I’ll suck it up for this trip, but Idk how much more I can take. Some people may call me a selfish person for giving up, but sometimes the battle is over before it even starts.
Sorry for the rant, but i’m getting close to some type of breaking point. The treatment is starting to get to me physically and honestly, my heart is no longer in this like it was even a month ago.
I am probably going to have a frank talk with my oncologist about all of this.
