2024.05.14 01:56 Lanky-Lie-696 Can you suggest some “You’re gonna want me back” music

I’m looking for songs like
“Sorry Not Sorry” by Demi Lovato
“You Broke My Heart” by Drake
“Feather” by Sabrina Carpenter
“Hate 2 See It” by Danileigh
“U Don’t Have to Call” by Usher
Clearly these aren’t the same genre but they’re the same vibe: “You might’ve had me down bad but ima have you down worse”
Sometimes music can be so triggering that you need a good move on playlist 🤣

2024.05.12 13:57 Truecrimegeek333 Gyps victim complex.

I wanna start off by saying, the more each day passes the more I cannot stand this girl. “That’s hot” “that’s so fetch” excuse me? 🤮 She’s even got Demi Lovato commenting on her bullshit posts now. Watching her behavior, the way she treats people, and her lies how can anyone still support this girl? She’s making actual victims on TikTok and other social media platforms feel like shit, because she has her stans coming for them when they say something about her exaggerating the abuse (or even faking it if you’ve gone down the rabbit hole enough to see that it was Dee afraid of Gyp.) (It happened to me too, someone came at me with the ‘have you ever been abused’) And now, every single time Fancy goes live, she either does something outrageous or gets her banned, or both. Specifically every time fancy starts talking about the chromosome disorder 🤔 odd right? I think little miss Gyp shit is afraid of people finding out about that. Why? Because it throws her whole case out the damn door and proves she played us all for fools AGAIN. So I think we need to help the truth and be more loud about the disorder. She can’t get all of us 😇 one day all of this is going to come crashing down and we’ll see her fake tears that only come when she’s in trouble or undeniably caught, and we’ll all laugh. Shoot maybe she’ll do us a favor and get in trouble again by then. Sorry to ramble on and on like this, but with each attack her fans do on anyone that doesn’t agree with her, every celebrity comment of support, each ban for someone telling the truth, her confidence and ignorance skyrockets and she thinks she’s unbeatable. It’s disgusting.

2024.05.12 09:55 tomato-not-tomayto Genre:pop Year:2010's I remember the music video in great detail, i cant remember the artist or song!

i used to be obsessed with watching music videos as a kid, i didn't care about the music itself, i just liked watching music videos on VEVO. I particularly loved music videos with a storyline.
I have such a vivid memory of being obsessed with this one video, i would have watched it around 2017ish? so it would have been released before that. It was a female singer, relatively young, and the music video went like this:
set in a lab, everything is black and white except for a little girl who is playing at a table. watching through a window, there are old men in lab coats observing her, and amongst them, there is the singer who is also in black and white. the singer is dressed like a scientist/researcher too. then it cuts to a scene where the little girl is a cell/room, and the female scientist/singer comes in, and wipes her face to reveal she is also colourful, just like the little girl. the pair run away, getting chased by the scientists, and they drive away in a red car. there is a scene where they come out of a tunnel and they arrive in a land that is colourful, and there is a crowd of people that are waiting for them.
i tried finding it, i initially looked through Demi lovato and Katy perry, but i cant see any of their music videos that are like this!
Can someone let me know if they recognise this?? thanks!

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Poses in 'Blondes Have More Fun' Cropped Tank Top as She Shares Motivational Messages
( copied directly from article )
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is sharing some positivity.
Blanchard, 32, revealed her bright outlook on life on TikTok following her release from prison four months ago and separation from her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson, in March — and she's encouraging her fans to look at life in the same way.
In the May 10 video clip, which was set to Demi Lovato’s song “Sorry Not Sorry,” she shared a selfie of herself posing in a white cropped vest that read, “Blondes have more fun,” with a heart replacing the letter "o" on the top. She teamed the cute top with pink and black checkered pajama bottoms.
“Did anyone get to their destination by driving with eyes only in the rearview mirror? I am NOT,” the text over the video, which has so far been viewed over 1.5 million times, continued.
“That’s why I’m going places 😉," the final line over her clip read.
Blanchard then encouraged her 9.7 million followers to “have a good day,” and to “stay positive” in the comments.
Meanwhile, Lovato herself made an appearance in the comment section under the TikTok video, writing, "Yes girl!!!! Sending love 🖤🖤🖤," to which Blanchard responded, "Omg girl I love you! 💗 You are literally one of my favs. Sending love your way."
The Munchausen by proxy victim has been active on social media since being released from prison in December 2023 after serving eight years for conspiring to murder her mother, 48-year-old Dee Dee Blanchard, with her then-boyfriend, Nicholas “Nick” Godejohn.
Following her release, she has documented her numerous life changes, revealing in March that she had dyed her hair blonde. A month later, she shared that she had undergone cosmetic surgery to change the shape and appearance of her nose.
After separating from Anderson in March, it was reported in late April that the 32-year-old was back together with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker.
However, Blanchard admitted during the An Evening with Lifetime: Conversations On Controversies FYC event panel on May 1 that she ended up taking "a step back" from the internet because the comments were beginning to take a toll on her mental health.
"I'm very much an introvert. And so coming out and this media storm hit me, and I was... At first, I really, really was touched by the positivity that people were showing me," Blanchard said at the panel. "And then as social media began and how it always does, it turned negative. It started to have a negative effect on my mental health."
Since then, she said she’s been easing back into it slowly. "I just recently got back into it with having learned don't read comments," she said. "So I mean, I'm just trying to live my life in the best way that I can."
"And like I said, that's going to include missteps, but I learned from them," she added.
( THIS IS AGAIN NOT MY WORDS, NOT OPS WORDS !! )

2024.05.08 22:46 AssistantsVsAgents Today I learned that SOS was never written for Rihanna

Awesome interview with Evan Bogart who wrote Rihanna's hit song "SOS" while he was an assistant at a talent agency.
He originally wrote the song for a girl band that got turned down by every record label, but was eventually able to sell it to Christina Milian's team.
Christina Milian passed on the song & Rihanna agreed to record it. 3 months later it went #1 worldwide.
Since then, he's written songs for Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Jesse McCartney and just about every pop star out there.
His story is inspiring

2024.05.07 08:30 TheWelshRevolution Found the music video I have vaguely remembered for years!

So I'm 17, which meant that I grew up during the Golden Age of music known as the 2010s, with such amazing artists like Justin Bieber and Maroon 5, of course a lot of songs would be very nostalgic for me, even when I don't listen to much popular music from that era anymore.
But for a long long time I have remembered 1 music video, no clue what the song was but all i could remember was a guy and a girl singing about eachother with a brick wall on between them. For some reason I always thought it was Justin Timberlake and that's who I kept searching for, to be honest I wasn't doing a deep search, everyone once in a while I would just casually look through music videos from 2010-2015 but no luck, I knew it definitely wasn't Timberlake which didn't feel right with me
And that brings me to today where I found it. As I was being lazy and not getting out of bed (still not out of bed) I scrolled through YT Shorts and came across one with a very recognisable song in the background, I searched up the lyrics and found the name, went on YouTube and found the music video, the song is Up! By Olly Murs and Demi Lovato, it's a decent song, not really my style but it is absolutely the song I was thinking of and I am just happy I found it

2024.05.05 23:19 JesulyGR17 Songs that remind me of Chainsawman characters

Songs that remind me of Chainsawman characters
Updated version of previous post. /Ordered by song's title/
All Night Radio (Ado) - Cosmo: I know it has nothing to do with Halloween, but I feel it's the kind of music she would dance to.
Bad Voodo (Kreeps) - Tsugihagi: The zombie-like girl from Quanxi's harem; Red Dead's Undead Nightmare; pretty self explained.
Baka Mitai (Mitsuharu Fukuyama) - Arai: He looks like he was made for a Yakuza Game.
The Ballad of Sharknado (Quint) - Beam: Self explained.
Bang Bang You're Dead (Dirty Pretty Things) - Reze: No big reason, I just think that the song and it's title fit well.
Bleeding Out (Imagine Dragons) - Himeno: Reminds me of Himeno sacrificing herself for Aki.
Chainsaw (Ramones) - Pochita: The title fits, the song starts with a lot of "wofs" and talks about chainsaws in a "cute" way.
Villain (Bella Poarch) - Fumiko: A bad b*tch who tricks and plays with you just for fun, and literally psychotic.
/For Aki I couldn't decide between two so I'll leave both here/
Deadman's Gun (Ashtar Command) - Aki /1/: The lyrics convey a message of refusing to be defeated by external forces and standing up for oneself, making justice againts those who tormented you. Also, the name "Deadman's Gun" fits so much it hurts.
Dragon Soul (Takayoshi Tanimoto) - Lóng: Quanxi's dragon girl; Dragon Ball song; easy.
Eat Me (Demi Lovato) - Kiga: The song itself doesn't fit much, but the title does and I like it.
Free Kitten (Dover) - Power: This one talks about a cat wanting to break free from a woman. Reminds me of Power because she likes cats and wants to escape from Makima.
Get Jinxed (LoL) - Nayuta: I think the crazy but childish behaviour of Jinx fits Nayuta well.
Gungnir (Bump of Chicken) - Spear Hybrid: Gungnir is the name of Odin's spear. The song talks about an awful guy, and he seems pretty psychopathic. Also, there's this line "Become a devil!", and he's a hybrid.
Ignorance is Bliss (Living Colour) - Quanxi: She lives by that motto.
Lavender Town (Pokemon) - Darkness Devil: Gloomy and chilling, I can imagine this playing while Darkness appears.
La Vie en Rose (Louis Armstrong) - Fall Devil: Classy and romantic, sounds like the type of music she'd hear.
The Masochism Tango (Tom Lehrer) - Whip Devil: Whip Devil, it was obviously gonna be about Masochism. The vibe fits aswell.
Master of Puppets (Metallica) - Santa Claus: Self explained.
Old Devils (William Elliott Whitmore) - Kishibe: Just listen to the song and you'll know. The lyrics match up pretty well and the vibe seems correct.
The Only Thing They Fear is You (The Last Bear Ender) - Hero of Hell: Pochita in his true form spends his life cutting demons in half with chainsaws, it was obviously going to be Doom related.
Red Right Hand (Nick Cave) - Makima: Just change the pronouns to female and the song literally talks about her.
Shy Little Frog (Sushisingz) - Kobeni: The song talks about a very talented guy who's very shy, obvious relation. You can count Nobana here aswell.
Something in the Way (Nirvana) - Angel Devil: The song makes me sad and tired, just like Angel.
Study Me (Futakuchi Mana) - Pingtsi: She's another of Quanxi's girls, the one with a second head in the form of a ponytail. Furakuchi, the artist's name, is a term used by Quanxi towards her, meaning something like "Two Mouths". Her ability is to use that second head as a magnifying glass and "read" other people's contracts, that's why I chose this particular song, because of it's name.
Subhuman (Cody Matthew Johnson) - Denji: Devil May Cry V's Battle theme song for Dante. I think the lyrics match up and I love imagining Denji going crazy with this sounding on the background.
Super Sonic Samurai (Victorius) - Katana Man: Katana Man's only canon name currently is Samurai Sword, and the song sings about a samurai faster than light. It fits well if you ignore the samurai in the song is a cyborg, but hey, a cyborg is the mix of human and robot, hybrids are the mix of human and devil.
Sympathy for the Devil (Rolling Stones) - Yoshida: He seems to always be involve in everything without having an apparent mayor roll in it. I think he hides a lot, maybe he's guilty of things we don't know.
Teenagers (My Chemical Romance) - Miri: It has the vibe, rebellious and confused teenagers. He's againts the system and part of a movement form by students. I tried to find something sword related, but this will do.
This FFFire (Franz Ferdinand) - Barem: The title and lyrics are self explained. Also the vibe seems to fit for me.
This Fire (Killswitch Engage) - Fire Devil: Like Barem's but heavy.
Walking Disaster (Sum 41) - Asa: It basically talks about a guy who hates his life and everyone in it, blaming everything wrong in his life to others. But with time and experience, he learns to appreciate life and the people he cares for. Obviously, the title reminds me of her aswell.
War Pigs (Black Sabbath) - Yoru: Self explained.
Watch Over You (Alter Bridge) - Aki /2/: The lines "Who'll watch over you when I'm gone?" and "Snow is on the ground, winter's come. You long to hear my voice, but I'm long gone". Just sounds like Aki talking to Denji and Power.
//Here I leave the link for a Spotify playlist with these songs if you'd like to listen to them//

2024.05.04 00:32 emmothedilemmo A Rant About Exposingsmg

So Exposingsmg is essentially a blog that would post gossip about celebrities that... wouldn't be submitted to the Daily Mail, but they completely break the ethical rules of journalism by saying "my source said " blah blah blah (insert complete dangerous lie that can easily be disproven)
They started their blog out targeting Selena Gomez and accused her of abusing Justin Bieber, cheating on Justin Bieber, manipulating Justin Biebers mother, bullying people like Demi Lovato, and weirdly enough, sending Niall Horan and unsolicited nude pic when he supposedly had a "secret" girlfriend (That esmg didn't mind exposing despite the probably NDA breaches and lack of respect for Niall's privacy). They also allege that Selena is FAKING her lupus. No proof of any of this whatsoever, which is disgusting.
Then after about two years of making these baseless accusations, they started to widen their market and "expose" EVERYBODY. This included celebrities like Meghan Markle, Olivia Wilde, Emma Roberts, Emma Watson, Taylor Swift, Camilla Cabello (who ngl, isn't that nice of a person but you can gather that information by just a google search), Demi Lovato, and Amber Heard.
I would write an ESSAY about all the things ESMG have done but I want to mainly focus on Amber.
I'm not going to share their blog but they made an accumulation of statements that can be proven false by reading a court document. They also discussed Ambers sexuality in a disgusting way by claiming she would only sleep with men for a "career advancement" and that she was only with Johnny "for his money" (even though she took way less than she was entitled to at the divorce and pledged to give it all to charity)
They said that Amber was the aggressor of abuse and Johnny NEVER hit her (even though there's proof he did). They used Ambers "I was not punching you, I was hitting you" audio as their "credibility" while ignoring the transcript that have her apologising and admitting that she did it because she was so used to getting physically assaulted by him and not fighting back (Johnny is radio silent throughout all of this)
They claimed that Amber cheated on him during the relationship (even though they claimed Johnny did too, but didn't care about that enough)
They used ADAM WALDMAN as backup for their claims, along with articles from the Mirror and TMZ (which was hilarious and... based on other blog posts, kinds typical of them)
Alleged Elon Musk donated anonymously on behalf of Amber Heard for the children's hospital. They also complained that Amber didn't donalte the money for 3 years (when as far as I know, they story behind that was not disclosed, Johnny kept suing her and the ACLU and CHLA never complained publically). Even though this could be true, I dont care, it doesn't make her a liar
Right this is a ridiculous one, they claimed that the UK trial was rigged bc everyone was in cahoots of Amber when Amber... according to that chart they released only met 3 people who were... kinda higher up in the UK law, then who knew people who knew people who knew Dan Wooton and Andrew Nicol.
Now I'm from Ireland and I know A LOT about the Sun. Ever since the tragic Hillsbourgh disaster in 1989 (where they victim blamed the fans who died and suffered loss that horrible day), The Sun LOST most cases where people had sued them. It was RARE that they won this particular case. That's why this whole thing is ridiculous to me. And... just because the Sun accused Johnny of DV. Never meant they cared about Amber.
Also, its laughable how they ignored all of Johnny's connections and the way he sued her for the op ed (that had no indication of "Amber accusing Johnny")
They alleged that Johnn'y s family hated Amber, yet ignored Lily Rose's message to her father admitting how Amber being in the relationship brought her closer to him. And ignored how Loly Rose Depp never speaks about Johnny and changes the topic whenever he is brought up. They also use the title of an article of his sister supporting him as "proof" even though she is claimed to have used his money as her own.
Apparently, according to these two credible sources that would never be biased. Amber kept Johnny on drugs and did drugs herself. In the real world, everybody kept Johnny on drugs but her. She was held accountable by her therapist for enabling him and she did everything in her power to help him (cause... yk... she was a 25 year old with a man near his 50s).
The "source" (who was definitely impartial and totally not probably on Johnny's payroll. Oh wait, it is indicated they were actually friends) said he "Cared a lot about her". Yet he showed that by trashing her dressing room, butting her in the forehead, kicking her on a plane, pulling hair out of her scalp, calling her an "over the hill stripper" and a "c*nt", vandalising her ex girlfriends painting and controlling her healthcare by sending her to one of his therpises who would victim blame her for everything (This is just everything that's been proven). It's sad.
The rest of what she said was the same bullshit rhetoric that is on the internet, or that Depp fans try to claim. Despite the fact Johnny was clearly filled with yes men who should have helped him years ago rather than fueling his addictions, it NEVER excuses how he treated Amber. The abuse through the court system and controlling her healthcare Proved to me that this isn't quick incidents that he immediately regrets. He planned all of this. he intended to humiliate her and emotionally ruin her.
Other things ESMG have done:
This is a blog who intends to blame women for what has happened to them, OUT women as queer when these women never admitted to it themselves (but they don't out men and blame the mainly female fans for their theories/beliefs on certain relationships, so... typical misogyny) they OUTED certain alleged survivors of SA when those certain survivors never claimed to have endured that, or even worse, may not have been ready to admit it (so... ESMG may have been taking away THEIR story to tell). They talk about Dark Hollywood but never went into detail about certain individuals who were the abusers (but had no problem, in one post, victim blaming a certain celebrity for "cozying up" to their abusive director).
They are not a nice blog, most, if not, all of the sources (if they had any) are probably biased. If you call them out on any of this, they'll most likely call you stupid, an idiot or a moron and waffle about their credibility. So yeah...
To end, I admire Amber for her resistance while going through the worst things anyone can go through. She didn't make it difficult for DV survivors, Johnny did, the American Justice System did, the world supporting Johnny did (intentional or not) and blogs like ESMG do.

2024.05.02 18:07 Ghost-Quartet Songs that play with ideas of gender?

I was working on the Main Pop Girls Gone Bad Rate so I was listening to "If I Were A Boy" by Beyonce (as one does) and it reminded me that, around the same time, Ciara dropped a song called "Like A Boy" with a similar lyrical concept and it got me wondering... was there something in the water? Why did they both do that?
But it got me thinking about representations of gender in popular music and how female artists will sometimes play around with presenting themselves as male to explore a different power dynamic. "The Man" by Taylor Swift is a really on-the-nose example of this, but songs like "Kings And Queens" by Ava Max or "Tomboy" by (G)I-DLE play around with the concept in their own (not-so) subtle ways. Not to mention the countless female rappers who have long alluded to their metaphorical penises.
Special mention goes to "If You Were A Woman (And I Was A Man)" by Bonnie Tyler (sampled by Ava on "Kings and Queens") which takes the concept a step further by gender bending the man as well- and for bonus points, RuPaul recorded a cover for one of his albums so it's a man dressed as a woman singing about what it would be like to be a man, just to confuse the binary even more.
But in my observation, this form of gender-play has somewhat fallen out of favor in recent years because people have become more interested in exploring a more empowered vision of what the feminine can be rather than alluding to the masculine; "Pynk" by the famously androgynous Janelle Monae is a great example of what I mean with this but the general rise of the hyper-femme bubblegum aesthetic in pop circles can be linked to it too.
(Sidebar: I think the underrated "My Girlfriends Are My Boyfriends" by Demi Lovato strikes a really middle ground of these two approaches, celebrating the femininity of her girlfriends by putting them into a more masculine role.)
But very rarely do I see this going in the other direction with men singing about being women- partially due to the fact that I don't listen to as much music by male artists, but I think mostly because there are fewer situations where a man would want to willingly compare himself to a woman. In fact, we often see artists going in the opposite directions and trying to "emasculate" other men by comparing them to women.
Songs about gender from men are often centered around an exploration of what it is to be a man ("Man I Am" by the non-binary Sam Smith is basically a parody of this but the infamous "I'm Just Ken" plays it pretty straight) and most of the songs I found where men opine about what it would be like to be a woman were from queer men.
Actually I noticed a very specific subsection of songs from queer artists comparing themselves to the "opposite sex" for, ostensibly, the attention of a straight person who would not be into them otherwise. Some examples include:
So yeah. A lot going on with this whole gender thing.
I'd love to hear what other people think about gender in pop music. What are some other songs that are overtly concerned with gender in interesting ways? Either by subverting them, or by exaggerating them? Do we find any of these songs tacky, or are they necessary expressions?

2024.05.01 02:56 thebombflower BPD Song PSA

I know this was talked about before on here, but if you guys get a chance, listen to I Hate You, Don’t Leave Me by Demi Lovato and just read the lyrics while she sings it. Demi isn’t someone I would normally listen to (I like her, just not my genre of preference) but this song is crazy. I’m honestly not sure I’ve ever connected to a song on this level before, at least not for a long time.

2024.05.01 00:13 princesspen8 Possible Song in S3?🐝

So crazy that we get to see this relationship flourish on our screens in 16 days🐝 I know we know of a few songs featured in this season…so I wanted to share a possible song that we could hear. Jess Brownell mentioned writing with a specific Demi Lovato song in her head and I recently came across one of Demi’s song that I haven’t heard in a while. It’s called Only Forever and I truly think it would be a beautiful song to include this season. I think the song could describe that love Penelope had and always will have for Colin. When you listen to Demi’s lyrics, it can make you pretty emotional and relatable for people. I absolutely adore the song so hearing it would be amazing, fingers crossed! Wondering what everyone else thinks it could be???

2024.04.30 04:58 fashionscooptydiwoop How important is attractiveness and sex appeal in pop music

We often talk about how attractiveness and sex sells but just how important is it. We often see new artist who are take off but fizzle out after a year or two despite them being conventionally attractive. On top of that their are countless of conventionally attractive people who never truly make it. Does the type of attractiveness matter. Madison beer, Sabrina carpenter, Tate McRae, Demi Lovato, Nessa Barrett are all conventionally attractive but they still aren’t big stars, why is that. Also what do you think is just as if not more important as attractiveness? Is it uniqueness? Authenticity?
Is it the vibe someone gives off. Like IG pretty or non intimidating pretty or beautiful but bland? I hear people say that Christina milian and Teairra Mari were supposed to have a career similar to Rihanna. They are all gorgeous women so it count have been their beauty that was holding them back! What do you guys think?

2024.04.29 02:28 acerejected 2 songs that sound alike to YOU.

Is there anyone who thinks two songs that sound so much alike but no one else agrees they sound alike? Mine is Made in the USA by Demi Lovato sounds soooo much like Torn by Natalie Inbruglia. At least to me. People tend to say Where is the Love by The Black Eyed Peas sounds like Torn but it's been like ten years since I first started Demi's song and I remember that from go I though "Oooh this is a more upbeat version of Torn. I was listening to pop stuff on shuffle tonight and Demi's song came out of nowhere and I had the same feeling. It had been quite a while since I last heard it.
Do you have the feeling with two songs that ONLY YOU think they sound alike?
