this is more of a blog where i can post my experiences with sleep deprivation. WARNING: sleep deprivation is incredibly dangerous to mental and physical health. It can cause mental decline even after you've regained a healthy sleeping pattern and the physical side effects are well documented, they include; liver damage, seizures, hypertension, low blood pressure, low red and white blood cell count and a bunch of other problems.

2024.05.14 00:37 Tasty-Watercress-747 URQ discomfort-labs and ultrasound done…. WAITING is the hardest part. Help!

I am a 38yo female and I have done blood work and an ultrasound to check out what is going on in my URQ. The hard part is I work out of state so often I cannot seem to get into the dr office for results for a while. The blood work was done a month ago, I tried to obtain the report from the lab but they told me twice to get results from the doctors office. The ultrasound was done last week and I have photos but a radiologist has not transcribed them yet. So I have no news and it is making me anxious especially to travel for work. Is there anything I can do to get results earlier since I will be out of state for weeks? If I have a problem that needs to be addressed I would like to know. Patience is not my strong point apparently! Also I am a little concerned by the size of my liver at 16.32cm and they measured “something” on my kidney.
Thank you in advance.

2024.05.14 00:30 WalterWaifu Anyone else struggling with less tangible symptoms?

I don’t want to give more information than necessary, I’m just looking to find anyone else who currently is, or has been stuck like me.
Last year I had a pretty severe medical emergency(not celiac related) that resulted in a lengthy stay in the hospital. During my time in the hospital they were checking my liver levels constantly. It eventually came up that they believed I had celiac, and they were surprised to hear that that hadn’t come up in my life hitherto.
After I got out of the hospital I started seeing a GI They ran the usual blood tests, endoscopy, even a colonoscopy. Each test confirmed it more than the last, I have celiac.
My problem is I can’t pinpoint my symptoms, and it makes it hard to stick to a somewhat(to me) life altering diet. I’ve never been one to get sick after eating bread or pasta, I don’t have much of a reaction to any food at all really(or so I think). I’ve only just started piecing it together that my myalgia and mental issues could be related. Even then, I can never really pin point if it’s due to my eating, or just life. My GI said something to the effect of “Maybe you only think you don’t have any symptoms. Maybe you’re so used to feeling like shit all the time that you don’t even realize it anymore.”
The longest I’ve been able to go without even a taste of gluten was 2-3 weeks, and then I fall off the wagon. I’m assuming I didn’t notice much of a difference because I didn’t stick to it long enough. I’ve been changing almost everything in my life this past year and this has been one of the hardest things to nail down..
So I guess my question is: Has anyone else been in the same boat? Could you tell me about your non-physical/less apparent symptoms? What would you say to your past (potentially delusional) self?

My pointer finger is constantly flared up and its always triple the size of my other fingers cuz its so swollen and so sore. Im just wondering if anyone has had this problem too? Because its never NOT flared up. Just curious tbh and like is there a way of easing the pain/getting rid of it or do i just deal w it ? lol

2024.05.13 21:51 jspete64 Struggling Post CHL

I went through a long, and tortuous journey with Stage 3B CHL..My main symptom that made me realize I had a problem was itching..I don’t know how many people experienced this, but I developed a crazy itching all over my body.it was the worst itch you can imagine, but all over and 24/7..it was like laying in a bed of fire ants..That’s the most nightmarish, frustrating experience I have ever endured…I had to deal with it for 6 LONG months before I found a Doctor that took it seriously…I had also dropped about 50lbs in 5 months, and had a lump under my arm..Finally a CT was done, and I had countless “tumors”around my liver,Pancreas, heart and back…The stress of not knowing exactly what it was for months, and enduring the itching and severe pain almost broke me…I has surgery to remove the swollen lymph node under my arm,it was 4.3 cm long..the biopsy confirmed CHL…I then went through a flurry of tests and procedures,Heart echo,PFT,Port a cath surgery, and a horrific bone marrow biopsy in a weeks time….I started ABVD in February of 2023..6 Rounds..I was actually chomping at the bit..I could not wait to start chemo..Anything to stop the itching!!…Chemo was rough, but I responded quickly..My first post treatment scan was clear..complete remission..I have my 2nd scan tomorrow…I have developed some irrational thoughts and fears..I haven’t slept in my bed in 2 years..I got it in my head,if I got too comfortable in my bed,I might not wake up,so I sleep in my recliner..I wake up every couple of hours,so it’s like I catnap..I also feel like I am waiting for the other shoe to drop..is it gonna come back?..will it be worse?…I just don’t feel like myself anymore..I know I should be happy that it’s gone, but mostly I am just scared all the time..I had to go to the chemo room last month for a port flush, and as soon as I walked in,I started sweating, and got that pit in my stomach and a feeling of dread…Everyone tells me it will take time, and I know I am only 7 months out from my last treatment,I just thought I would be happier having beat cancer..I just feel like I will never be what I was before..the physical part was absolutely terrible…I had the worst side effects from the chemo, but I guess I wasn’t expecting the psychological effects at all…Just wondering if anyone else has gone thru this and how long it took to recover completely?..

2024.05.13 21:26 atouchoflime83 Your advice is needed

Hey guys. I live in a country that has about 3 breeders in total of Sibs. My sib, who was the closest to loving a child I'll ever get, died on Valentine's day earlier this year. At 4v years old.
Initially she had health problems and had a liver shunt operation. The vet said it wasn't because of the breeder or that she was a pedigree but just really bad luck and rare in cats. Then 2 years later, at 4, she died of a burst ulcer that the vet didn't pick up it was hidden from view from an x-ray and scan.
The question: I want to get a new baby. I want to move forward and be happy again. But my friends say I must be careful and not use the same breeder. I do think she's legit though. I'm just so scared It'll happen again.

2024.05.13 20:36 AtlasTheKittyChugs Finally took a concrete step towards sobriety

Finally some good news to share! I (24F) have been struggling with my drinking for about 3 years. Things escalated to binge drinking around last November and I was pretty much unable/unwilling to do anything about it aside from admitting to myself that I have a problem.
Two weeks ago, I took things too far. I pretty much gave myself borderline alcohol poisoning. While I was recovering, I began to self reflect. I think most alcoholics have had hangovers bad enough to make fake promises of quitting, only to return to the bottle again. This time was different. It became apparent to me that I am going to die if I keep drinking. Not instantly, but at this rate, I think it would have been max 5 years before I fucked my liver beyond repair. I also began to look into the timeline and symptoms of withdrawal that approximately matched my rate of drinking if I were to quit, and it terrified me.
Long story short: once I was back on my feet, I went to the doctor and admitted I had a problem and needed help. This was the kindest thing I could have done for myself and I wish I had cared enough about myself to do it sooner. I was prescribed some naltrexone for cravings and some other stuff to prevent potential seizures.
I will admit that in the week since then I had one slip up: i had 3 beers. With that in mind I would like to share some great news:
I broke my sobriety record of 3 years for the first time - 96 hours sober! I know some people say you shouldn’t become too hung up on the days and hours of sobriety, and I promise that isn’t my focus, but if you had asked me to envision a 96hour sober me two weeks ago, I likely would have cried out of frustration. For me this is a huge step
I haven’t been dealing with any physical withdrawal symptoms so far, but it has been emotionally taxing. Still, in the last 3 years, i can honestly say that I have never felt as hopeful, clear headed, happy and determined to work towards a life i can love.
I don’t want to drink anymore, and now I finally realize I don’t have to. Still a long way to go, but I have regained hope and some control over my will.

2024.05.13 20:34 East-Letter9478 Help me relive my anxiety

So basically i had a concussion in November last year, and sadly i had another, milder one around 4 weeks ago,
I went to check up with my doctor cause i had very bad symptoms the next day, she said I looked good, to drink paracentamol for my headaches when needed and go to a check-up in a few weeks
Well this may sound funny but it's serious, I actually healed? Idk why was that but my symptoms disappeared on day 9, but then i was touching the back ofmmy head, pinched the skin close to my ear, the symptoms immediately came back. And on the 14th day my little cousin who didn't know i had a head injury hit me in the back of my head, since then a lot of my symptoms have comeback.
I want someone, anyone, to explain to me are thesw symptoms bad signs, cause I've been to many doctor's just not a neurologist yet since my appointment is far away
So basically i have headaches (i feel like they happen mostly when i eat sugary stuff or whilst sitting), dizziness, balance issues (much better now then when my cousin hit me), fatigue, hotness around my neck area or back of the head, weakness in hands or legs, neck hurting after waking up, sudden sensations of movement when touching head and tingling in the face. Most of these go away when drinking paracentamol, but i don't want to drink it until my 70s, it'll hurt my liver also.
I never vomited, had a seizure, lost consciousness etc, but i am still scared of some things, i am 18 and i feel like these concussions will affect me more than i think
I am scared of subdural hematoma because I've read it can happen up to two months, so someone tell me will i be alright?
Should i do a CT scan knowing it's radiation? Or an MRI? Or should i wait for my neurologist in a few weeks (yes waiting lists are that bad here)? Or will i be okay? I generally feel good whilst walking around, standing (not for too long) or laying down, but sitting is my huge problem
Thank you for reading, I've posted before so i am hoping for some answers from good people and for y'all to tell me your experiences with it...

Terry’s nails? 26M
I’ve done a lot of binge drinking and mixing pills in the last 7 years. Idk if this is the result of something minor such as a vitamin deficiency of some sort. I just had an endoscopy done last summer they diagnosed me with GERD and stomach inflammation and my biomarkers for liver function were higher when drinking but went down into the normal range when I quit drinking. I’ve also had a CT and ultrasound done on my liver and they said everything looked good. They also did a kidney stress test on me because they thought I had hydronephrosis in my left kidney. Turns out my left kidney is just way bigger compared to my right. I’m just here trying to my to figure out anyone has had this problem and if it is something minor if its something I should bring to my doctor’s attention. I just can’t afford to be missing something because I’m a single full time dad (sober).

2024.05.13 20:16 momcode96 WIBTA for staging an Intervention for my mom?

WIBTA for staging an intervention for my mom?
I (23F) am becoming increasingly worried about my mom (54F). I’ve always known my mom to be a drinker, but over the past 3-5 years it’s become a lot more constant, and a lot more in volume. My mom does come from 2 parents who have struggled with alcohol abuse so have always thought it’s just part of who she is. But I, my brother, my dad, and her closest friend have recently opened up to eachother on how worried we truly are about her. She drinks everyday.. not just a beer at the end of the day… She drinks all day long. She is even drinking at work. She’s been caught drinking at work, and has a bag under her desk and in her car of all her empty cans. Her job performance has gone down but she blames her company. She will drink and drives, she’s hiding alcohol in ‘tumbler cups’ that you can’t see through and says it’s “just water”, and she will mix drinks in an area of our kitchen where nobody can see how much alcohol she’s adding into her drinks. It’s becoming something she truly can’t go without.
Her closest friend has mentioned her concern and that she’s lost friends to alcohol abuse and worried she will be next. My mom has complained about pain (where her liver is), and has even had to get an ultrasound done on that area, which her doctor called her back about (assuming there was something of concern) but got mad when any of us would try to ask what the problem was.
I have recently had a baby, and I’m concerned if my mom doesn’t change the path she’s on the won’t be in my child’s life. So, WIBTA if my family and her closest friend staged an intervention for my mom to voice our concerns? Thank you in advance.

2024.05.13 18:38 mischiefkar28 Is this RA, Lupus or IBD

My biggest complaint was crippling fatigue with the inability to walk 10min without having to stop n take a break. Additionally Ive been consistently losing weight. My doctor started me on prednisolone & it was like a light bulb went on in my head. I was energetic & bright from day 3 & bursting with energy. I havean issues with itchy scaly dry skin on my wrist, scalp & jaw.. this got worse on pred. She also put me on methotrexate(on weekends)& HCQ every day. 2hrs after the methotrexate my anxiety would go through the roof with palpitations. With bad hair fall. So she changed it to leflunomide. This got my fatigue to come back, my breathing issues got worse & I lost appetite, lost 1.5kgs in 1week (I was unable to touch 500calories a day). I stopped the leflunomide and a week later I’m feeling slightly better, more appetite & less struggle to breathe. The prefnisolone has been tapered off & my brain fog & muscle aches n pains are back. I don’t feel as energetic any more. Symptoms- Food allergies (gluten stopped eating in 2010-11, dairy stopped eating in 2019, nightshades, soy, pineapple since dec 2023). Dry eyes after I eat gluten(continuously dry after starting medication). Fatigue (slight since 2011-12, crippling since 2022). Breathlessness (very bad in 2018-19, completely cleared up after i went dairy free, came back with a bang in 2022). Muscle aches n pains (since 2022). Neck pain at the back where my head connects my neck. Clinical notes from my doctor- ANA: 1:100, Cytoplasmic pattern. ANA immunoblot:neg. IgE levels increased: borderline. Multiple food allergies. Globulins, ESR: raised. ASCA IgA: Positive. GI Endoscopy (done 20 years back): showed villi loss. 14/03/2024 biopsy: moderate duodenitis, mild colitis.
Also my liver & thyroid panels are normal. Asking here because my doc is on vacation n I was wondering if I should suffer through leflunomide (if it does look like RA)

2024.05.13 18:28 nolliebear Vegapunk, Greek Mythology, and...Neo Mads? (1114+)

"The Wings of Icarus" got me thinking about Greek mythology (not to mention the recent release of Hades 2), and I remembered Prometheus. You know, the one who stole fire from the gods and gave it to humanity, allowing them access to knowledge and technological progression. I think the Mother Flame is going to be stolen from the Gorosei and given to Luffy somehow. The Mother Flame resembles Luffy's hair in G5, and may be somewhat of a solution to the stamina problem Luffy has with maintaining it. BUT I think it will go further than that.
Vegapunk is not someone who thinks of the consequences of his actions, he merely wants to advance science. This has been brought up multiple times, like his idea for the collective database of knowledge, and even in him making this weapon for the World Government. In him stealing the Mother Flame, and presumably telling the world about it as part of his message, I think other people are going to have access to it. Specifically, Judge and Caesar in their Neo Mads group. I'm wondering what Oda is cooking with them, and I think it may be this. In real life, it was Albert Einstein's discoveries that led to nuclear weapons simultaneously being developed by the US and Germany during WWII. I think Vegapunk mentioning this technology to the world will lead to Neo Mads getting some sort of breakthrough on it, mirroring all of humanity getting access to the stolen flame of Prometheus. Caesar and Judge were shown listening to this message and are probably the only people in the world capable of continuing Vegapunk 's work after his death. In fact, all of their scientific feats in the series so far have been either directly a result of Vegapunk's contributions or due to them replicating one of Vegapunk's experiments.
So, where does that leave us for the future of the series? Assuming this myth of Prometheus is used as inspiration, it was the stolen flame from the gods that allowed humanity to progress. Due to his crimes, Prometheus was tied to a rock for eternity to have his liver eaten by birds every day, only to have it grow back and repeat. Prometheus is also sometimes presented as the father of Deucalion, the hero of the flood story in Greek mythology. We have already seen Vegapunk be killed for his crime, just like Prometheus was punished eternally, and he is warning the world about the impending flood. But he is also preparing to tell us the story of Joy Boy. I believe he will tell the world about Joy Boy's return, and Luffy will be the one to save the world from this flood. In a way, Vegapunk will be the way our crew finds out about this danger, and will mirror Prometheus being the father of Deucalion. While we're on this...how did Deucalion become the hero of a flood myth? He built an arc, which floated atop the water until it landed on higher ground at the top of a mountain. Maybe Luffy will take the Noah from Fishman Island and help the residents of FMI settle directly on land. Maybe he helps everyone build arca around the world and everyone lands atop the Red Line until the flood is dealt with. Lastly, it's the divulging of the information of the Mother Flame that will give Caesar and Judge a breakthrough and be able to replicate it, either for the World Government, for themselves, or maybe for a third party (Cross Guild??). Franky may be able to work it into his existing knowledge of what Pluton is. But in any of these cases, once this information is leaked by Vegapunk all of humanity will know about it.
I know this is a long one, and I'm sure you all are better experts on Greek mythology and nuclear science than my degree at Wikipedia Community College grants me so feel free to dissect further.
Tl;Dr: Oda has taken inspiration from the myth of Prometheus and real life scientists like Einstein, Newton, and the race for nuclear weapons to inspire this part of the story.

2024.05.13 16:57 SaltyVinChip Can someone help me understand my blood results and is there anything I can do to improve the things that were flagged?

First time posting here. I am freaking out a bit over my blood results. My family doctor has scheduled me for an ultrasound in 2 weeks because he isn't sure what's going on - his only guess is diverticulitis but he can't confirm of course.
My white blood count is a little high (11.7), neutrophils was high (9.1), eGFR was low (84), alkaline phosphate was high (147). These were the flagged issues on my blood work last week.
Blood work was done because I've been experiencing stomach pain and nausea for a couple of weeks.
I'm a 29 year old female, 7 months postpartum. I don't drink much, never smoked, exercise almost daily (though no vigorous exercise, usually just walking, chores and chasing around my baby), believe I eat a pretty balanced diet. My mother has osteoarthritis, my understanding is this is hereditary and could explain some of my flagged levels.
I know my doctor needs to see ultrasound results to be able to come up with some answers and plans. But in the meantime I'd love to understand what these flags mean, and if I should do anything differently regarding diet/exercise/lifestyle to avoid health issues? I'm most concerned about the eGFR being low and the alkaline phosphate being High, as these things may indicate kidney issues or liver problems.
Appreciate any insight or tips, I plan to see a dietician soon as well if anything is recommended to prevent worsening health problems.

2024.05.13 16:54 petittoni1102 What is Detox?

What is Detox?
For many, the word "detox" conjures up images of cleanses, fasting, and purging the body of toxins. But what exactly is detox, and is it really necessary?
The truth is, our bodies are naturally equipped with a sophisticated detoxification system. This system, comprised of the liver, kidneys, digestive system, skin, and lungs, works tirelessly to eliminate toxins and waste products from the body on a daily basis.
So, the concept of needing a separate "detox" program is often a misconception. In fact, many popular detox diets and cleanses can be more harmful than helpful. Let's delve deeper into the world of detox and explore what science tells us about these practices.
What is detox?
The Myth of Toxins and Buildup
A core tenet of detox programs is the idea that our bodies accumulate toxins over time, leading to a variety of health problems. However, there is little scientific evidence to support this claim. The liver, our body's natural detoxifying champion, is remarkably efficient at filtering out harmful substances.
The kidneys, another vital organ in the detoxification process, work diligently to eliminate waste products through urine. The digestive system also plays a crucial role, eliminating toxins through feces. Additionally, the skin and lungs play their part in eliminating toxins through sweat and exhalation, respectively.
While exposure to environmental toxins is a reality, our bodies are remarkably adept at handling them. So, unless you've been exposed to a significant amount of toxins (through environmental hazards or occupations), the idea of your body being overloaded with toxins is likely a myth.
The Risks of Detox Diets and Cleanses
While detox diets and cleanses may be tempting with their promises of quick weight loss and improved health, they often come with a host of potential risks. These programs can be restrictive, eliminating essential nutrients from your diet. This can lead to deficiencies, fatigue, and muscle loss.
Detox cleanses, which often involve fasting or consuming only liquids for a short period, can also be dehydrating and disrupt your body's electrolyte balance. This can lead to headaches, dizziness, and even heart problems in severe cases.
Furthermore, some detox products contain herbs or other ingredients that can interact with medications or have harmful side effects. It's important to consult with a doctor before embarking on any detox program, especially if you have any underlying health conditions.
Supporting Your Body's Natural Detoxification System
Instead of relying on fad detox diets, the best way to support your body's natural detoxification system is to focus on healthy lifestyle habits. Here are some key strategies to consider:
  • Limit Alcohol Consumption: Alcohol is a toxin that the liver needs to work hard to process. Excessive alcohol consumption can impair liver function and hinder its ability to detoxify the body. Moderating your alcohol intake or abstaining altogether can significantly benefit your body's natural detoxification process.
  • Prioritize Sleep: During sleep, the body enters a state of repair and regeneration. This includes detoxification processes. Aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night to allow your body to function optimally and eliminate waste products effectively.
  • Drink Plenty of Water: Water is essential for many bodily functions, including detoxification. Adequate hydration helps the kidneys filter waste products and flushes toxins out of the body through urine. Strive to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your body hydrated and support its natural detoxification system.
  • Eat a Healthy Diet: A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains provides your body with the essential nutrients it needs to function properly, including detoxification. These foods are packed with antioxidants and fiber, which can help neutralize harmful free radicals and promote healthy digestion, both of which contribute to detoxification.
  • Exercise Regularly: Exercise is a fantastic way to promote detoxification. Physical activity increases blood flow, which helps the body deliver nutrients to cells and remove waste products. Sweating during exercise also helps eliminate toxins through the skin. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise most days of the week to support your body's natural detoxification processes.
By incorporating these healthy habits into your lifestyle, you can support your body's natural detoxification system and promote overall health and well-being. Remember, there's no magic bullet or quick fix when it comes to detox. The best approach is to focus on sustainable lifestyle changes that promote long-term health.

2024.05.13 14:38 recycle37216 Friendly Pharmacist Insight here 👩🏽‍⚕️😄: Pain meds

You’ve all likely taken a pain medication at some point, so I thought I might offer a little more info about some of the different types.
Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is great for pain and fever, but it is not an anti-inflammatory medicine. Acetaminophen is known to cause liver damage when taken in large quantities, and this medication is included in many different OTC formulations such as cough and cold medicines. Patients should always check ingredients to ensure they are not double dosing unintentionally, and limit use when possible.
The term Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) encompasses a wide range of medications that help with pain, fever, gout, blood clots, and inflammation. Because these medications work differently from acetaminophen, it is generally safe to use both if your primary issue is pain and/or fever; however, you should never use two types of NSAIDs together due to their adverse drug effect (ADE) risks.
All NSAIDs are known to cause kidney damage, but liver damage is possible in high doses. In addition, some NSAIDs can increase the risk of bleeding, cause heartburn and stomach ulcers, increase blood pressure, cause heart problems or stroke, and may cause allergic reactions. Frequent/long term use is not recommended without oversight by a physician. NSAIDs are best taken with food and possibly a H2RA/PPI (see previous reflux post for more info on these meds) to help prevent GI bleeding.
Some common NSAIDs include: Aspirin (Bufferin, Ecotrin-low dose used often for blood clot prevention) Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) Naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn-12h dosing) Diclofenac (Voltaren-topical options available; higher risk for liver and heart ADEs) Indomethacin (Indocin) Meloxicam (Mobic-24h dosing) Ketorolac (Toradol-high risk for ADEs; use should be limited to 40mg max daily and 5 days use) Celecoxib (Celebrex-less risk of GI ulcers but increases risk of heart problems)
Also note that children with viral infections should NOT take aspirin due to the risk of Reye’s Syndrome
Corticosteroids (different from anabolic steroids) are synthetic versions of cortisol that are also used for inflammation by affecting the body’s immune response. They are commonly used for allergies, asthma, arthritis, and autoimmune diseases, yet they can have a wider variety of ADEs especially when used systemically, such as weight gain/water retention, mood changes, increased body hair growth, increased risk of infection/difficulty fighting infections, easy bruising, GI bleed risk, increased blood pressure and sugar, etc. Some examples are cortisone, hydrocortisone, methylprednisolone, prednisolone, prednisone, triamcinolone, betamethasone, dexamethasone, and fludricortisone. (NSAIDs and steroids should not be taken together.)
Lidocaine and/or menthol is also a great option for pain that is available in many different dosage forms. Some antidepressants like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), or tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) and some anticonvulsants can be used for certain chronic pain conditions. Muscle relaxers are useful for muscle tension and spasms.
When necessary opioid pain medications may be prescribed. These should only be used as directed because they carry high risks for ADEs, such as respiratory depression and dependence. Opioids cause intestinal movement to slow resulting in constipation so it’s important to also take senna, which directly stimulates the intestines to move, otherwise you get “all mush, no push” if you only use other constipation meds! 🤪
P.S. Physical therapy and dry needling can also be a great way to relieve pain!! I get needling regularly for my myofascial pain syndrome so I can attest that it helps tremendously!🤩

2024.05.13 13:22 Tiberiusthemad Proven natural hacks to boost your mood (Serotonin) and lower anxiety. I hope it helps.

A lot of people from this subreddit have been asking this question and i got this article together to answer that question. I hope it helps. Cheers.

I honestly have found great help when i started taking Omega 3 in a daily basis, Vitamin B1 B6 B12, enough zinc, magnesium and Vitamin D.
PS : for those who also want to increase their testosterone, improving your mood and lowering Cortisol greatly helps.

Stress Reduction

Our bodies release cortisol when stressed. Cortisol decreases serotonin levels in the body, by increasing serotonin reuptake. Too much cortisol can increase your risk of developing mental health disorders. That is why reducing mental stress can help balance cortisol levels and increase serotonin
Many of the lifestyle changes below can be used to decrease stress.

Mood Improvement

Serotonin impacts our mood, but mood also affects serotonin production. Studies using brain imaging (PET), showed that brains of people who are happy produce more serotonin than brains of people who are sad
Therefore, engaging in activities and doing things that make you happier can help boost serotonin production.
In addition, studies show that social interactions also influence serotonin levels. Spend more time with people who make you feel good in general

Exercise

Fatigue, as a result of exercise, increases the amount of tryptophan that can cross the blood-brain barrier (by decreasing BCAA levels) and thereby boosts serotonin production. Psychological benefits of physical exercise can be more readily achieved with consistent aerobic exercise training
Mice that ran on treadmills had higher levels of serotonin compared to mice that remained inactive. Brain tryptophan remained high even after exercise

Getting More Sun

It has been long known that bright light helps treat seasonal depression. But several studies suggest that light is also an effective treatment for other forms of depression
People have higher serotonin levels in the summer compared to winter
In fact, our modern way of life, in which we spend a lot of time indoors, may be depleting our serotonin levels, thereby making us more vulnerable to mood disorders
Pioneer studies suggest that our skin may produce serotonin when exposed to sunlight
In addition, you need vitamin D to produce serotonin, and sun to produce vitamin D
Therefore, going outside and spending more time in the sun on a regular basis is a great way to boost your serotonin levels.

Yoga and Meditation

A review of over 200 peer-reviewed RCTs, clinical trials, and meta-analyses studying complementary and alternative medicine suggest that yoga and meditation may help uplift mood and improve symptoms of mild, moderate, and treatment-resistant depression
In fact, meditation activates many parts of the brain important for understanding the self, emotions, problem-solving, adaptability, and increasing awareness. Serotonin plays a role in wakefulness, along with other neurotransmitters, which are all raised in meditators
Thirty minutes of yoga and breathing exercises improved mood in a study of 71 healthy adults

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy or counseling may change brain chemistry and even increase serotonin activity (by increasing serotonin receptors). In a (DB-RCT) study of 23 patients with depression who participated in psychotherapy for 4 months, therapy significantly increased serotonin activity and improved symptoms of depression

Eat to Increase Serotonin

Tryptophan is the amino acid building block for serotonin. Tryptophan is not produced by the body, so it must be taken in through diet.
Current research shows that unlike purified tryptophan, consuming tryptophan-rich foods does not necessarily increase brain serotonin. That’s because tryptophan-rich foods, such as meat, dairy, fruits, and vegetables, also contain many other amino acids. Tryptophan has to compete with these other amino acids for transport across the blood-brain barrier
On the other hand, lack of dietary tryptophan (compared to other amino acids) may lead to lower blood and brain tryptophan levels, decreasing serotonin production. Increased BCAAs also lower tryptophan and serotonin, as well as dopamine in the brain. This may be especially problematic for people who take protein powders to enhance exercise performance

Carbs

Consuming carbs increases serotonin levels by increasing the transport of tryptophan into the brain
However, you should use other methods to boost your serotonin, as increasing carbs in your diet can have a plethora of negative effects.

which Supplements can Increase Serotonin?

L-Tryptophan and 5-HTP

In the body, L-tryptophan is used to make 5-HTP from which serotonin is made. Taking L-tryptophan may raise plasma serotonin, improving cognitive, motor, or gut issues in those who are deficient
A protein called alpha-Lactalbumin from milk contains more tryptophan than many other proteins. In a (DB-RCT) study of 18 inpiduals, 12 grams of alpha-Lactalbumin increased the amount of tryptophan in blood plasma by 16% after 90 minutes
In another (DB-RCT) study, 12.32 grams of tryptophan increased blood tryptophan by 43% after 1.5 hours and improved memory in 23 subjects vulnerable to high stress
In a pilot study of 13 female patients experiencing premenstrual syndrome (PMS), 6 grams of L-tryptophan taken daily for 14 days improved mood, irritability, difficulty sleeping, and carbohydrate craving
Tryptophan can be purchased in the form of L-tryptophan supplements. 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) supplements are also available. It is important to note that 5-HTP is not the same as 5-HT, which is the chemical name for serotonin. 5-HTP freely crosses the blood-brain barrier (serotonin itself does not) to be converted into serotonin

Probiotics

In the digestive tract, probiotics restore the gut microbiome and influence the gut-brain axis. Gut bacteria are important because they can produce tryptophan, from which serotonin is made. Many mental health disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease, are linked to less perse or fewer gut bacteria
In a study (DB-RTC), an 8-week probiotic regimen (2.0 x 109 CFU/g of Lactobacillus helveticus and 2.0 x 109 CFU/g of Bifidobacterium longum) increased tryptophan levels in 110 inpiduals with depression. Increased tryptophan can increase serotonin production
A probiotic (Bifidobacteria infantis) given to rats for 14 days raised levels of blood tryptophan

Vitamin D

Vitamin D helps the body make, release, and use serotonin in the brain. Vitamin D activates an enzyme that converts tryptophan into serotonin. If vitamin D levels are low, our brains make less serotonin. Thus, increasing vitamin D intake increases serotonin levels, reducing the risk of mental health disorders
A cohort study of over 9K subjects demonstrated that taking vitamin D supplements during the first year of life was correlated with a 77% reduced risk of schizophrenia. In other words, preventing low vitamin D levels early in life may reduce the chance of having schizophrenia later in life

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

While vitamin D helps neurons make serotonin, the omega-3 fatty acids, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), help neurons release serotonin and improve its activity (increasing serotonin receptor sensitivity). Fish, such as salmon or trout, are high in omega-3 fatty acids. The omega 3 fatty acid supplements are also sold as fish oil capsules
Inadequate omega-3 fatty acids intake may increase susceptibility to psychiatric illnesses, including depression
In a (DB-RCT) study of 49 patients that repeatedly self-harm themselves, 1.2 grams of EPA and 0.9 grams of DHA capsules daily for 12 weeks reduced suicidal thinking by 45% and depression by 30%
An observational study of 256,118 Japanese participants, discovered that people who ate fish daily had lower rates of suicidal thoughts compared to people who did not eat fish daily. In another observational study of 1,767 Finnish subjects, consuming fish less than twice a week was associated with a higher risk of depression and suicidal thinking
In rats, low levels of omega-3 fatty acids (specifically alpha linoleic acid) are associated with lower serotonin activity, while DHA deficiency reduces brain serotonin in piglets
Reduced intake of both EPA and DHA by pregnant rats resulted in less production, storage, release, and activity (receptor function) of serotonin in the brains of their offspring. Serotonin was not only reduced in the mothers’ brains but also its availability and production were reduced by (65% and 29%, respectively) in the brains of newborn rats

St. John’s Wort

St. John’s Wort is a popular medicinal plant (Hypericum perforatum) used as an antidepressant for mild depression.
The plant increases serotonin in animals, similar to typical antidepressants, but with fewer side effects
In a review (of 35 studies) of 6,993 patients with depression, St. John’s Wort standalone therapy improved mild to moderate symptoms as well as antidepressants and better than placebo. The typical dose is 300 mg of the extract 3 times per day for at least 4 weeks

S-Adenosyl Methionine (SAMe)

SAMe is needed to produce serotonin
It is a naturally occurring compound that plays a role in methylation, energy breakdown and may help patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) who are not responding to conventional, synthetic antidepressants
In a (DB-RCT) study involving 73 MDD inpiduals unresponsive to drug therapy, 800 mg twice a day improved symptoms of depression compared to the placebo
In a (DB-RCT) study of 144 inpiduals with MDD, 1,600 – 3,200 mg of SAMe daily for 12 weeks significantly improved mood
A review of 132 studies (115 CT and 17 preclinical) concluded that SAMe can be useful not just for depression, but for an array of mental health disorders, such as substance abuse and psychosis

Vitamin B

Lack of vitamin B may be associated with the onset of mental health disorders. The body needs Vitamin B6 to make neurotransmitters like serotonin from 5-HTP (Vitamin B acts as enzyme cofactor)
Vitamin B12 and folate (vitamin B9) are necessary for the folate cycle, which helps convert tryptophan into serotonin (by producing and recycling essential co-factors)
In a cohort study of 549 community-dwelling seniors, those with low vitamin B12 and B9 blood levels were more likely to have irreversible problems with cognition (memory, attention, and thought)
In Rhesus monkeys, a single dose of vitamin B6 increased serotonin production in the brain
In addition, treatment of healthy adult rats with a vitamin B mixture raised serotonin levels in the brain

Vitamin C

Vitamin C supplements over a period of 6 weeks increased brain serotonin levels in rats with drug-induced dementia

Vitamin E

Vitamin E supplementation for 8 weeks increased serotonin in rats suffering from spinal cord injury

Zinc

Zinc can target and activate serotonin receptors
In a meta-analysis of 17 observational studies, blood zinc levels were lower in depressed inpiduals compared to non-depressed inpiduals
In a study (DB-RCT), 25 mg of elemental zinc supplements daily for 12 weeks reduced depressive symptoms in a study of 37 patients with major depressive disorder
Zinc can be increased through diet in foods such as red meat, oysters, and whole grains

Magnesium

Magnesium supplements increase serotonin levels by increasing its availability (reducing reuptake) in the brain. In a (DB-RCT) study, 500 mg of magnesium per day for 8 weeks significantly improved symptoms in 60 patients diagnosed with mild to moderate depression
Magnesium is found in green leafy vegetables, nuts, and legumes

Inositol

Inositol increases the sensitivity of serotonin receptors
In one study of 30 women with a PMS mood disorder, myo-inositol reduced symptoms and improved mood given over 6 menstrual cycles
Inositol decreases depression in rats by binding serotonin receptors

Turmeric

Curcumin is the active component of turmeric. In stressed rats, curcumin extended the length of time serotonin stays active in the brain (by blocking the reuptake of serotonin). It also improved cognition and reduced serum corticosterone, a cortisol equivalent, in rats
In mice, a single dose of curcumin (10 – 80 mg/kg) increased serotonin levels

Velvet Bean

Mucuna pruriens, known as the velvet bean, combats Parkinson’s disease better than the standard treatment (levodopa) in rats. In addition to being a source of dopamine, the long-term use of the powder form of Mucuna pruriens also restored serotonin levels in rat brains

L-Theanine

L-theanine, an amino acid found in tea leaves (e.g. green, black, or oolong tea) and Bay Bolete mushrooms, has relaxing effects on the mind. Green tea has the highest concentration of L-theanine
In a cohort study of over 42K Japanese inpiduals, those who consumed at least 5 cups of green tea a day experiences less psychological distress that is often associated with reduced serotonin
In rat studies, L-theanine raised serotonin levels in the brain

Rhodiola

Rhodiola rosea is a flowering plant that may help improve anxiety and depression. In a (DB-RCT) clinical trial of 89 patients with mild to moderate depression and low serotonin, Rhodiola rosea extracts (340 mg/day and 680 mg/day) for 42 days improved overall depression, including insomnia and emotional instability
In 70 depressive rats suffering from chronic mild stress and serotonin deficiency, Rhodiola extract (1.5, 3, or 6g/kg) for 3 weeks restored normal levels of serotonin

Saffron

Safranal, one of the main active components of saffron (Crocus sativus), increases serotonin availability in the brain (by blocking reuptake)
A meta-analysis (5 RCTs) of 177 participants concluded that 30 mg per day of saffron capsules can improve symptoms of depression in adults with major depressive disorder within 6 to 8 weeks

Psychedelics

Psychedelics are hallucinogenic drugs such as lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and psilocybin mushrooms. Psychedelics can stimulate serotonin activity (by directly binding to serotonergic receptors and also increasing their number), raise serotonin levels, and reduce its breakdown
In a recent pilot study (DB-RCT) of 12 patients with anxiety, 200 μg of LSD significantly reduced self-reported anxiety. LSD was given in a safe psychotherapeutic environment with medical supervision to avoid side effects
In a (DB-RCT) study of 17 healthy inpiduals, psilocybin (215 micrograms/kg) enhanced mood, increased goal-directed behavior and decreased recognition of negative facial expressions
Though psychedelics can activate serotonin signaling, unsupervised use may lead to serious psychological consequences. Certain plant hallucinogens, as well as synthetic hallucinogens, can be especially toxic. Using this substance should be under professional supervision.

Magnolia Tree

The bark and seed cones of the Magnolia tree (Magnolia officinalis) appear to have anti-stress, anti-anxiety, and antidepressant effects
20 and 40 mg/kg of honokiol and magnolol, the main components of Magnolia officinalis, restored low levels of serotonin in rats with chronic mild stress
Magnolia bark and ginger rhizome are commonly used to treat mental disorders in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). 30 mg/kg of a magnolia bark and ginger rhizome mixture increased serotonin in the brains of depressed mice

Essential Oils

Essential oils are commonly used to reduce anxiety, stress, low mood, and other mental health disorders. Smelling the essential oils (inhalation) can activate pathways in the brain to boost serotonin and dopamine production
In a study of aromatherapy in 60 elderly patients with depression (RCT), 5 ml of essential oil mixture (containing lavender, sweet orange, bergamot, and almond oil) increased serotonin levels after application two times a week for 8 weeks
Ylang-ylang essential oils increased serotonin levels in mice brains (hippocampus)
Bitter orange is an essential oil that reduced anxiety and improved mood by boosting serotonin activity in mice after 14 days of use
Lavender oil blocked the breakdown/reuptake of serotonin in cell studies

Valerian

The root of the Valerian plant increases serotonin levels and activity (by decreasing its turnover)
Valerian may help with irritable bowel syndrome. In a rat study, components of the Valeriani root balanced overactive serotonin in the gut (colon) and serum
Valeriana officinalis root extract prevented the breakdown of serotonin in mice exposed to stress

Apigenin

Apigenin is a nutrient in citrus fruits that may improve cognition and behavior as well as symptoms of depression and stress
In mouse models, 20-day treatment with apigenin (10 and 20 mg/kg) increased serotonin levels, and decreased anxious behavior
Apigenin was able to reduce the impact of chronic mild stress in rats by increasing serotonin availability and reducing its breakdown

Berberine

Berberine is a salt derived from plants in the Berberis family (the roots, rhizomes, stems, and barks), including barberry, tree turmeric, Oregon-grape, and others. It blocks the enzyme MAO-A, which breaks down serotonin, thereby raising serotonin levels
A single berberine dose increased levels of serotonin by 47% in the brains of depressed mice. Long-term treatment with berberine (5 mg/kg for 15 days) increased serotonin by 19%
Mice given berberine in a different study had increased serotonin levels in regions of the brain (hippocampus and frontal cortex) important for memory and mood

Acetyl-L-Carnitine

Carnitine may increase serotonin in the cerebral cortex, a region of the brain involved in cognition and memory
Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) is a modified form of carnitine, a common dietary supplement sold in health food stores. ALCAR protects the brain and may help with depression. In mice, it increased levels of serotonin in the brain when given daily for 25 days

Lithium

Lithium has long been used in the treatment of mental disorders such as bipolar disorder. It works by increasing serotonin activity in the brain

Physical Treatments that Increase Serotonin

Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback allows inpiduals to consciously change their brain activity (EEG waves) and therefore modify their behavior and cognition. Some of its clinical uses are for migraines, ADHD, and PTSD
In a study (RCT), neurofeedback (30 minutes, 5 sessions weekly, 4 weeks) was applied to 40 patients with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS). FMS patients have lower serotonin and widespread pain in their muscles and bones. After 2 weeks, patients experienced less pain, fatigue, anxiety, and depression

Massage

Massage therapy decreased cortisol and raised serotonin and dopamine in a broad population with stress-related health problems in 3 studies
In one (RCT) study, 24 adults with low back pain were either given two 30 minute massages per week or subjected to standard relaxation procedures over the span of 5 weeks. Urine serotonin levels were higher in inpiduals who received massage therapy

Acupuncture

In a randomized clinical trial, 75 women with fibromyalgia, acupuncture increased levels of serotonin in the serum, compared to placebo
In rats, acupuncture-like stimulation increased serotonin activity in certain regions of the brain

Light Therapy

When sun exposure is not possible, bright light therapy can help increase serotonin levels
Bright light therapy (photobiomodulation) shows promising results for depression based on clinical trials
In a study of 10 women with chronic headaches (observational), 34 seconds daily use of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) significantly increased serotonin levels after just 3 days
In a study of 25 drug-free hospitalized veterans with depression or bipolar disorder, bright white light improved depressive symptoms. However, further testing needs to be done on the negative consequences of long-term light treatment

Vagus Nerve Stimulation

Long-term vagus nerve stimulation (14 days) increased serotonin levels in rat brains
In rats, sustained vagus nerve stimulation for 14 days also increased the action of serotonin

Testing Serotonin

Serotonin that gets released into the blood gets rapidly broken down in the liver and lungs, to inactive metabolites (such as 5-HIAA) that are excreted in urine . That is why normally, blood and urine contain very small amounts of serotonin. Larger quantities of serotonin in the blood/urine can be found in people with serotonin-producing tumors (carcinoid tumors).
Beware of the use of urine serotonin levels to check for “neurotransmitter imbalances”. While the companies providing these tests state that the levels in urine correspond to brain neurotransmitter levels, science has repeatedly shown that this is not the case
Serotonin doesn’t cross the blood-brain barrier. Even if it did, it is released intermittently and influenced by many different stimuli. Furthermore, levels differ within different parts of the brain. And finally, values differ for the same person from one day to another
In addition, companies have been known to intentionally use extremely narrow ranges, without any scientific support whatsoever, in order to sell supplements to their clients
If you do have neurotransmitter imbalances in the brain, more reliable tests of serotonin levels are cerebrospinal fluid tests or measurements of serotonin in blood platelets
A PET scan is the only direct way to detect changes of serotonin production in specific areas of the brain
Serotonin Risks and Safety
Excess serotonin may result in serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal. Usually, though, serotonin syndrome is a result of drug interactions. No cases have been observed just from safe, natural approaches
MDMA, LSD, and other synthetic drugs may cause serotonin syndrome, and should not be taken without medical supervision or outside a psychotherapeutic environment
Most of the studies mentioned above were performed on adults. More research involving children is needed in order to determine safety.
Abnormally heightened levels of serotonin (hyperserotonemia) is a consistent finding in inpiduals with autism. Pregnant women with hyperserotonemia are more likely to give birth to children with autism

Drug Interactions

The use of St. John’s Wort, SAMe, or lithium simultaneously with serotonergic drugs like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO-I), and triptans, can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome, a life-threatening and potentially fatal condition

Limitations and Caveats

Some of these studies have fairly small sample sizes. Additionally, many of these natural methods of increasing serotonin in the body have only been tested in animals and need further research in humans through clinical trials.
In addition to the concentration of serotonin, both the number of serotonin receptors and their sensitivity may also play an integral role in determining serotonin activity.
Though serotonin is mostly made, stored, and released in the gut, serotonin acts as an important neurotransmitter in the brain. Some of these natural remedies and supplements need further testing to determine if they are able to cross the blood-brain barrier. Long-term application of these remedies should also be further studied.

2024.05.13 13:13 CPC_Alice [Thoughts] I don't exactly have a lot of time to write this...

Why does Nijisanji always have to do this... I've been so busy lately that even the time to write this has been cut down...
You only budgeted less than an hour to write this, you big dumbass
I-
Not only that, you also have to wake up early.
Yes, I kn-
IT IS 3:41 AM LOCAL TIME YOU SHITTY MOD
I-I know... please...
THESE THINGS TAKE HOURS TO DO PROPERLY! YOU ARE SHIT AT SCHEDULING!
\MikaCry.png*)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is 3:44AM local time when I decided to start writing this. I try to keep a week window to do these so it is really a "weekly" wrap up. Consistency is very important after all. Then I look at how far down I have to go to reach the previous weekly wrap up and I'm just like... "There has to be a better way...."
If I try to write every day on what happen tho and save a draft, it won't flow well and the writing tone will change and stuff. So... I'll just have to do this I guess?... Wait.. I'm already over time... WHAT THE FU-
.... *cough* Anyways.
Do you remember when Fuwa Minato (from Niji JP) suggested to a teen during a radio-callin to "buy followers"? Quite a sh-tty thing to suggest that you artificially inflate your social media followers so you get a fake number to show off. Especially on how much teens take stock on such metrics socially? There is also the question raised on how accurate their own sub counts are now (considering their talent just outright said to buy such things). What bad optics yo.
Nijisanji opens their mouth and "interesting" stuff comes out... Wait.. THAT is the first topic after the last write up? WHAT?!
There was also that picture of the Niji Retirees without Sayu. Link is a direct XTwitter one lol. Tracked down the artist lol.
Also a meme
There is also this post... "If Hell is Forever, then Heaven must be a Lie". Does Vtubing attract those with a different slant mentally or does it cause it? \looks at the mirror* ...* Hmn... At least in this context, a certain company certainly doesn't help at all.
Oh right! Sayu also had her first Honkai Star Rail sponsored stream lol (oh here is also the stream link). Considering things, it is nice that she got a sponsored stream from MiHoYo again. Personally I don't currently play any of their games (I did tho :P) so I have no strong feelings about it one way or another. I just know the lore and... its nice.
Then there is KamiiGOO tweeting on how happy she is. I mean I know that it is being magnified by the context but holy heck is the unsaid parts being echoed out so hard in the background lol
Then there was that post about Black Vtubing companies. I mean, there is certainly to be said about the one that doxxed their own talents. At the same time tho, they are not as big as Nijisanji/AnyColor and how many more people are affected by what they do. Either way, I do wonder how many Vtubing companies have been outed as "Black"... I don't have enough energy to seriously pursue it lol
Then there is that post about Sayu surpassing Zaion. The new surpases the old. Nice
NijiSisters are hypocrites.... HA
The Sky is Blue
The Sun Rises from the East
NijiSisters are hypocrites.
Fact of life folks. This ain't gonna change. They're a bunch of crazies if one is being honest.
\Sees Suisei-sama, have to talk about it**
I... I actually can't talk too much about the thing with Suisei-sama \feels the time pressure right now*. Basically, she turned off SuperChats because she already has a lot of merch that any Hoshiyomis worth their salt would be devouring (\wallet-kun dies a violent death*) so she'd rather save her fans SOME money and go with a merch instead. At least that way, they'll get something for supporting her too!
Iroha-dono must also be suffering quite a bit. As the Hoshiyomi representative, any support for her will no doubt also flow towards partly supporting Suisei-sama too... UGH... The amount of Merch... *hyperventilates* h-help...
Oh to be clear, I'm actually not that big of a Hoshiyomi...
That's a f-cking lie you shitty mod.
N-No Comment... but I swear! I'm more of a Tako!
What time is it again...?
\screams*)
Then there is the Meme that makes Niji Sith.... Heheh... Seeth, Sith... you know?... no? not funny? I-I'm sorry...
Remember the time when (presumably) Niji Management blocked Niji talents from participating from that certain Tekken event because Doki was in it? I believe Vox also expressed interest but it never materialized? I mean... its petty but it still tracks with what Niji Management does y'know? Late addition: One more post?
Oh god, I am still at a VERY small portion... I am already past my allocated schedule for this.. I'm cutting into sleep X\X)
Dokibird hit 700K subscribers! Yay!
There is also that time when Marine-sencho talked about how "Suffocating" it is to be under Holo Management. Here is even a clip of it. To clarify it, she said on how there ARE restrictions and her manager and staff-san are on her case at times. She internally rages about it at the moment (as is normal). However, she also knows that it is because they are also protecting her too. It is not a case of "being restrictive to bully" but "being restrictive because if we don't, there is a real chance of your channel being deleted/sponsors pulling out". To be clear, there is also the fact that viewers have a nice cache of trust on Holo vs Niji that they believe it when a talent says it like this.
Considering who Senchou is and the stuff that DOES get through (for example...), one could only wonder what kind of yabai it is that DOES GET RESTRICTED. Makes one wonder y'know?
Then out of nowhere, a couple of demon guard dogs said "Hold our Bone" then showcased a small spread of their hand-signed postcards for their birthday merch. Looking closely, you can see that they ARE hand-signed. In the context of Niji, this absolutely MAULS and MOGS on a certain someone who got outed that their signature isn't even signed by themselves LOL. Did they even offer hand-signed postcards? Or are they all just stamped? No idea, I never even looked at their merch lol.
Now, to be clear, I did wish Hex Haywire a happy birthday and a very long tenure with Nijisanji (hehe), but damn did Niji Management did him dirty on his stream. Not that I really care nor watch him, but still sucks when they do this.
Oh, and remember, he's the one who f-cked around with the ashes of a friend's dead Grandfather and someone's pet fish. He's not a nice person.
Then there is that Meme about how you avoid Nijisanji without actively avoiding them. Heh.
Oh, this is what I'd like to call "Foreshadowing"?
Apparently Dokibird/Selen is unmarketable? One tweet of many that says otherwise :P Late addition: Marvel Alpha. Really unmarketable huh?
This is also Round 2 of the Transparency post btw. Just a little thing...
There is also this post about Parrot. Damn, it's only May... wait... it's only May... Oh fu-
Oh right, shihomii created the sticky post in regards to making a master timeline of things. Nice.
Remember that Foreshadowing? Well, there has been some posts that popped up on it. To be clear, for a majority of healthy sane adults who knows their stuff, responsible consumption of these mixed drinks wouldn't cause a major problem for them. The Math has been done by various people on it. It SHOULDN'T be that big of a problem. However, it was done while marketing to an obvious younger demographic that might not exactly know when to stop. There is also the fact that NO SANE COMPANY would outright say or even want the messaging NEAR THEM to mix energy drinks + alcohol. Especially on a 1:1 ratio. This is just absolute MADNESS that they said "Oh, yeah, this is fine." and gave the approval. it got even the Japanese government involved. Also, links to posts about this being randomly placed cuz reasons :P late addition: Lamy talking about Mixing Alcohol and Energy drinks. There is even a clip of it! Wild Yagoo appears
There is also a question posted. Why even be in Nijisanji?
Then there is the Comparison meme.
Gotta say that I can't understand Claude Logic. I think I'm better off that way.
Apparently, there has been some Nijisisters who are trying to weaponize the NijiJP fanbase to attack Khyo. Huh...
There is also a post about Polka-sama... Ever Blue huh...
There is also another dokibird W going to AVCon as a guest.
Coco-kaichou mentioned.
So apparently Anime Impulse's M&G tickets are still not sold out. So they increased the limit to 5. Y'know, target the whales :P. It allowed them to sell out on some more talents. Really milking those whales eh?
Artist tries to hide from Vtuber. Wasn't that successful.
So Armchair Expert did a follow-up video. This time analyzing the Zaion situation and how it reflects on what AnyColoNijisanji did to Selen. Obviously people have thoughts on it. To me, it just said the quiet, unsaid parts out loud while also throwing terms that the average person doesn't know about. Things like "Folk Devil". I remember talking on how I personally know about it already and what Armchair Expert's video did is to deliver it in a way that the regular people would understand and digest it. I wonder where I said that... I forgor lol
There has been an update for Kotoka Torahime. For those concerned, here you go!
Grim
Halp, I'm losing steam X\X... my sleep time....)
Crazy Nijisister implies that they and Nijisanji will try to get 4chan shutdown. I remember cackling like mad when i saw this. I was laughing so much that I had to get water. Onee-sama was concerned for me when she saw me barely standing up trying to get water because I was laughing too much. Hmmm~
Remember folks that false flagging is always a thing. Keep an eye out.
Idol Sponsored Dokibird to watch their new gen
So Sayu did a watchalong of Armchair Expert. That was even watched by the mod staff. Thoughts and points were talked about. From both the user base and the mod team. Wild really.
So, Hololive Meet Taipei 2024. Why is this relevant? Well, they also had a Karaoke event (not concert) that can be compared to VR-SG. Pointed out in a reply by OP, it sure looks like Hololive keeps on winning even on a "Karaoke" vs VR-SG. Here is Bae posting some pics (tweet here). FuwaMoco also did one. Here is Gura's own tweet. Here is also some thoughts about it (with pics) and more replies too. This absolutely is just.... I mean.... the Down Under Concert is... a Concert. This is Hololive on a Karaoke!!! VR-SG is a Karaoke (it ain't a concert) so this is the most comparable comparisons. SO THIS JUST PROVES THAT NIJI IS MOGGED HARD BY MOST OBJECTIVE METRICS. Heck, I was recently watching an old hwikky video about AGF and I was struck on how a free DJ event in that convention must have comparable attendance while having A LOT MORE ENERGY to VR-SG. It is just wild really. Late addition: More Screenshots (along with official tweet). Btw, did VR-SG release any "official photos" of their event?
There was also a M&G comparison between Holo and Niji's VR-SG.
Dokibird is also hosting a WrestleTuber event that has HoloStars, Idol EN, and Phase Connect members in it.
Oh, here is a good reminder.
More NijisisteNDF madness. Daymn they crazy.
Dokibird W with AnimeThon bringing her in as a Guest of Honor (that's the tweet). This girl is BUSY. wtf.
Wait, NijiEN is having a *Full 3D concert* at AnimeExpo? Considering how the last one went.. \Are they Sure**?
Bonnivier Pranaja was announced to be graduating Nijisanji. I don't know who this is personally so I can't really say much. However, I don't think his name came up on any predictions at all.
*looks at the time* oh god...
My sleep...
.... *sigh*
Well... I'm all caught up... you are all too... I spent... *checks* ... too long on this... most likely because I wanted to make sure I linked things properly + watched things so its accurate.
I want to sleep.
Ugh.
Thank you very much for reading! I'll see you guys at the next post!
Yours,

2024.05.13 10:52 tiredwreck Chronic fatigue, nausea, low sodium, celiac and endo. Help me understand what could be going on or who to see please!

I need some help. I am a 40 year old female weighing 115 pounds with celiac and endometriosis. I dont drink or smoke and before the past few years I have never had any health problems. I have two daughters, 15 and 9, and a had my son pass away from a placental abruption a few years ago, but my two daughters are healthy. I take 5mg of lexapro and iron supplements and eat well. My thrypid and liver panels always come back great! I have been getting really sick for years. I get beyond exhausted to the point I can't move for weeks. Last year I had some iron infusions for my anemia and that helped. In February I couldn't poop at all and looked 9 months pregnant and was sleeping 16 hours a day. Gi did endoscopy and bw and diagnosed me with celiac. I also have endometriosis and had a lap done on 4/12 to remove a bunch of endo from multiple areas and remove my tubes. I could finally poop...for a few days. My sodium has been consistently low over the past two years and I feel worse than ever. I ended up in the er with a burst cyst last week. My doctors just keep bouncing me back and forth. I was seeing a hematologist, but I switched insurances and she is no longer covered so I'm searching for a new one. Can someone please help me understand my labs. Also, my d-dimer is elevated like 5 times a year, my ferritin is low despite eating iron rich foods, taking blood builder and supplements, I have a high kappa light chain, my ct scans all show congested pelvic syndrome, and typical degenerative disc. I eat well no gluten, take liquid iv packs, don't drink, my thyroid is fine. Help me guess what this could be or who to ask to see please! 402 Immunoglobulin M- high 23.2 Kappa light chain -high 938 d-dimer-high Ferritin- 12 - low Calculated Osmolality-256-low U:C 5- low Bun 3- low Creatinine 0.55mg/dl-low Sodium 129- low Carbon dioxide- 21-low Wbc- 3.7 -low Rbc-3.53 low Hct 32.4 low Mean platelet volume 3.2- low Hemoglobin 10.6-low

2024.05.13 10:37 yea-thats-the-spirit Pitting edema, weird breathing issue. Maybe you know what I'm talking about?

Hey, 34F, 5'9 1/2, 172 pounds, Caucasian, take Synthroid (100mcg mon-sat, 88mcg sun) figured I'd put this out there and see if someone has any idea what the possible issue could be, they have exp the same thing etc. To be clear, I understand this is not 100% professional advice. I had whole thyroid removed when I was younger due to thyroid cancer. Considered pretty healthy, don't drink, smoke weed, do drugs or smoke. Had hypothyroidism that progressively got worse from my 20s till now b/c my last dr. was a gaslighting a-hole. Apparently my thyroid levels are good now and where they should be, even though I have some shitty symptoms on and off, but guess that comes with having no thyroid and I'm stuck with that, is what it is. Anyway, I found a new family dr. and have had some MRI's, CT scans, EKG and am going to have a stress test and bed side echo just to rule out heart problems. My EKG results showed my heart beat slightly drags out a little bit/lags. I forget the medical term but he said it's not necessarily abnormal, it's common in people. The cardiologist also told me if he finds anything odd, he'd send me to the hospital to get their more detailed echo.
Moving on, ever since I was a teen if I yelled, most of the time my chest felt tight and I had to catch my breath and then in early 20s sometimes my chest felt like if you go outside in the winter and breathe in the cold air and your chest feels tight and hurts. Asthma was ruled out by last dr. I failed 2 breath tests, chest x-rays came back fine. Over the yrs, edema began. I used to be 125, 130 pounds toned, fit and at the perfect weight for my body, now I'm 172 water weight. I eat well and used to do light exercise. My ankles/feet swell on n off worse in the heat, my face is a little swollen/puffy, the front of my neck where my thyroid used to be swells/gets puffy on and off, my upper arms have a lot of water retention near the top around the arm and under especially, thighs as well, but my stomach is the worst it looks like I'm pregnant (*deff not pregnant). My fingers swell on and off, hands puffy on palms, wrists, all over my body basically.
My MRI and CT scan showed a few tiny benign nodules in 1 lung and a small benign nodule in my liver. My current dr. was rude and didn't explain what it meant to me. As the typical standard, I'm having another MRI and CT to make sure I'm okay since my last tests and I'm going to ask the dr.'s there what my results really mean. But this edema is getting worse and so far, seems there's no explanation for it. Also, sometimes if I breathe in it sounds like a rubber chicken toy in my chest and I get clear phlegm sometimes, sounds wheezy. And the other weird, scary symptom- if I take ANY medications EXCEPT FOR my Synthroid pill, my breathing is affected. For example, I can take vitamins, an allergy pill even, cold meds, w/e my breathing becomes labored, I'm air hungry and struggle getting full deep breaths, chest feels heavy. The severity varies from mild to maybe I have to go to the hospital. And the duration of this symptom is random- it can last a few hours then my breathing improves, it can NOT affect me right away but the next day it affects my breathing, it can last a week just from taking 2 vitamins etc.
I asked to see a lung dr. (not sure of their correct title) but my dr. hasn't done anything about that, I asked for my hormone levels to be checked (estrogen and that) and was told no need, asked to be tested for pcos, fibroids, womanly issues like that to rule out the weight gain told no need- even though I have some symptoms and they run in my family. IT'S MY BODY but w/e right. My dr. clearly wrote me off, ignored the fact I was diagnosed with pitting edema (not severe- and my circulation could be better but it's not severe issue). Anyway, my dr. called me fat cause that's easier than helping someone with an odd medical problem. I eat healthy, still go for walks, some days barely eat anything cause I'm not hungry or I'm stressed and am not a stress/depressed eater, thankfully. The only other thing is, I know the body keeps score and I've been through a lot in my life and endured trauma and ab***. I've read/heard that people who are survivors have had weird, mystery illnesses. Some cleared up when they were free of the trauma, some not. Also if you're stressed all the time, high levels of cortisol isn't good for you. Thank you for reading, any suggestions on what could be the issue? Any advice?
