Ill try and give as much context as i possibly can. I am on mobile so i apologize in advance.
I (M29) am a boiler operator in Minnesota. My wife (F29) is a stay at home mom who just recently started doing house cleaning for cash. Her income will have to mostly stop for the summer while the kids are out of school.
Income (monthly): $4800-$5200. My check(after Health insurance, 401k, dental, vision, tax ect) $600-$1200. Wifes cleaning for cash.
Bills (monthly minimum payments):
$50 wifes cc (balance unknown but card limit is $500)
$138 joint cc (balance $4,700, 18%)
$244 my cc (balance $12,250, 18%)
$288 wifes van (balance $10,000, 3.2%)
$158 my student loan (balance $7000, 4%)
$1600 rent
$20 home internet
$100 average nat gas
$150 average electric
$40 mint mobile mine and wife (taken out every 3 months)
$50 fuel for my car
$150 fuel for her van
$100 for both our therapy bills
$120 DnD sessions.
$250 prescriptions.
$100 wife allowance
$100 my allowance
$1200 for 4 people for groceries (Caleb Hammer recommendation)
Total going out: $4738.
Okay so let me explain some of these before people get all up in arms about some of these items. Me and my wife, as well as some of our friends do a almost weekly DnD session. All of us are new to the game (we've been playing for almost 2 years at this point) but we pay a DM to run the game for us. Its a little under $20 per person so our cost is $40 and then we have one sunday per month that we can't play due to work conflicts. Next thing i think people may get up in arms about. My wifes allowance. She's been a stay at home mom for roughly 6 years at this point. She knows she keeps our house running but she doesn't feel like shes contributing anything financially. So to help her feel less guilty about spending money on non essentials i set up an account where $50 per paycheck would be dropped so she can spend it however she wants.
With those things out of the way I'd like to list the options I've been ablto to come up with.
1) Use a personal loan to consolidate the three credit cards and close those accounts. Our credit union has personal loans for 10.75% at 36 months. Roughly $17k at 36 months is estimated to be $550 per month. This would be a big increase in how much our minimum monthly payment is for that debt but if we set it up next fall when she starts working again we should be able to pay it down relatively quickly and it wouldn't hurt as bad as long as shes able to keep making at least $600 per month.
2) Use a 401k loan withdrawal. I currently have access to almost $10k through a loan on my 401k. This could be used to pay off both the smaller cards and a good chunk of the larger card. A 401k loan is repaid back to yourself with interest at 9% but while the money is out on loan its not fluctuating with the market which could end up being more harmful. My employers current match is 3% at 100% and the following 3% at 50%. So they match 4.5% to my 6%. Which is what iv been doing for a while now.
3) Find a 0 interest credit card that i can roll most of the debt or preferably all of it, onto and hammer the shit out of paying it off in the 0 interest period. This again would probably have to wait until my wife starts back to working this fall so we have the best chance of successfully paying it off before the interest free period ends.
If there are other options that may be available please by all means let me know. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and how wonderful and less stressful life would be without that extra $400+ in credit card bills. Thank you in advance.

2024.05.15 18:11 TxCincy Who has had morning practices and afternoon practices? What is the difference?

Quick background. My HS team went from 5pm to 7pm practices to 4pm to 6pm to accommodate coaches' schedules. This created some serious issues (access to fields, overlap with any after-school meetings/tests/ etc.) but the primary issue we thought it would solve is attendance. In 2023, we struggled with consistent attendance, but the core group was there most of the time. In 2024, it became the 9000lb gorilla holding us back. We lost our first 5 games because we couldn't get 10 starters at practice or at games. We couldn't run man-up with the same group of 6 guys but maybe 3 or 4 times all season. We didn't have a single practice with 100% of the roster in attendance, and we probably averaged around 75% for most of the season.
We are trying to address this issue along with the other issues we ran into. So we're looking at practice before school. I've seen it work in some cases. However, I'm getting mixed messages about the impact it will have. Will we probably lose some of the less committed players? Sure, but that doesn't really bother me. Will we have kids sleep in and miss or show up late? Absolutely, but that's something we can address.
I'm more concerned about the day-to-day impact it has on the student-athlete.
If you've got experience with both, please let me know your opinions.

Difficulty modes are a topic that has divided the gaming community for a long time and is likely to be shared for many centuries to come. Arguments that we have the right to an easy mode are as common as those who consider anyone who wants to relax and spend time playing on something less than "difficult" to be a "casual."
Of course, none of these polar opinions are strictly true, and neither game mode is inherently better than the other — gamers should choose the level of ass-kicking, they and their controller face based solely on their life experience.
In general, have you ever wondered why some players prefer to play games at maximum difficulty? After all, it would seem, why torture yourself if you can just relax and enjoy the gameplay? However, as it turns out, there are a number of reasons why more complex game modes may be preferable.
Firstly, passing the game on high difficulty allows you to really immerse yourself in the game world and feel like a part of the events taking place. When each step requires maximum concentration and attention, the player becomes more involved in what is happening, and defeating difficult enemies or passing difficult sections brings much more satisfaction. In addition, this approach allows you to develop skills and strategic thinking, which makes the gameplay even more exciting. Instead of just pressing buttons and watching how the hero copes with enemies, the player becomes an active participant in events, making important decisions and influencing the course of the game.

The Devil May Cry series is widely known for its variety of difficulty levels in each game; since these are games in the genre of "hacking and extermination", their main concept is to play them over and over again. Devil May Cry 5 is no exception.
The highest difficulty of DMC5 "Hell and Underworld" requires some effort even to unlock it, because first you need to complete the game on the "Son of Sparda", which itself is unlocked only after passing on the "Demon Hunter". For those who are willing to make an effort, the next three difficulty levels after the Son of Sparda are different from each other and valuable in their own way.
"Dante must die" opens up new enemy attack patterns and significantly increases speed and aggression, while the most dangerous enemies appear earlier and more often, plus they all deal twice as much damage and have twice as much health. In Heaven and Hell, on the contrary, the mechanics of "one shot, one defeat" are presented — not only for the player, but for everything else.
Hell and the Underworld combine the best of both worlds. Of course, you still die from a single hit, but your opponents behave the same way as in the "Dante must die" mode, making them extremely dangerous, as if in Hell itself. Although Fallout 4 is definitely not the first game that comes to mind for most of us when it comes to grueling challenges, it has one special level of difficulty that radically changes the perception of gameplay. Added after the release, the Survival mode replaced its predecessor, now called "Very Difficult", and brought unique changes to the gameplay.
Survival, as expected, turns the game into an authentic survival simulator. Both manual and accelerated saving will be eliminated, as well as fast movement, and the only way to save progress is to allow the character to sleep in bed for at least an hour of the game.
All damage and status effects must also be eliminated manually by the player, including basic human needs such as food, drink and sleep — ignoring them will entail additional damage. Moreover, you deal less significant and more realistic damage to opponents, who, in turn, become more powerful and appear more often. Now your ammunition has a portable weight, and, yes, the familiar weight limit begins to harm your character if it is exceeded.
Many fans play modern Fallout games either because of their excellent storylines and role-playing elements, or in order to run and destroy enemies in a post—apocalyptic setting, but Survival actually allows you to live in the reality of the Fallout world - for better or for worse.

Traditionally, the average difficulty level represents the basic starting point that the developers have been working on. As for Alien: Isolation, the creators from Creative Assembly and Feral Interactive recommend starting your journey with an initially high level of complexity. In addition to the fact that this is their starting point, in simpler modes, players are less likely to encounter a xenomorph.

Good morning everyone, AcA here and I have a brief (haha) update for you this morning. I felt it was pressing to give everyone an idea of what I am seeing and feeling headed into the next epoch of space weather. What a ride AR3663/3664 were? Long before most of you showed up for the biggest storm in decades, AR3663 was trying to get there, only to be usurped by AR3664 stealing the show. Well AR3664 has now departed, and the sunspot situation is complex, but not as intense as before it left. There are certainly more spots and active regions, but we are missing one with significant complexity and size like AR3664. ~~As a result, we can probably expect a quieter stretch of space...~~
Something wild just happened. Something that has happened numerous times since I have started this. Call it stupid, tell me I am ate up, call it woo woo, I don't care. I don't call it anything, I juste note its occurence. As I am writing this brief little snippet, X-Ray spikes, and topped out at X2.99. For the last 10 days, when I have seen magnitudes like that, I automatically go to AR3664, or went to I should say, but AR3664 is gone...so what AR is responsible? I can barely see the leading edge of the plage, but it must be respectable.
That is the beauty. Nobody knows. It is not visible and as a result has not received a numeral yet and we have zero real idea of what it looks like. However, we can extract 3 key details from this information.

- The sun is still very active - X flaring continued overnight with an X3.3 overnight and this most recent X2.99~ from a new contender.
- Something imposing is hiding behind the limb, and will be rotating into view, and appears that it will be X capable off jump street.
- The flare topped out at X2.99, but based on the signature, I would not be surprised if the actual flare magnitude is north of that. THis often happens when flares occur so far on the limb they are occulted by the sun. It affects our probes ability to measure it.
- The radio emission from this flare was over 1000 km/s. Wowzers

Buckle up folks. Now hopefully you have got the drift. There is no certainty here. I think many people are forgetting one key fact about this game. Its comprised of two words. Space & Weather. Space suggests its distant, massive, and on scales far bigger than a human. Weather suggests its an interconnected and dynamic system of more variables than we can track or understand. Our brightest minds, best models, and best computers, cannot tell you with any high degree of certainty whether it will storm 5-7 days from now, maybe not even rain. If that is the bar for terrestrial weather, than what is it for space weather? I give you my take. I give you my analysis. I hope I am right, and alot of you are here because I have had a pretty good track record so far. Do not think for one second that I don't know that track record could fall apart tomorrow. I need you to understand that.
Internally though? That is a different story. My confidence is rising. My perception broadening and my understanding increasing. The beauty of space weather currently, is at some point you have to make a gut call. You read the same data as everyone else, and you make your prediction. The finer brush strokes don't always come out perfect, but the big picture is definitely coherent at this point.

I expect a brief lull in activity affecting earth. Flaring may remain slightly elevated but we cannot escape the fact that AR3664 is out of the mix. The other groups are growing, but they are not growing exceptionally fast. That could change and we will keep close eyes on active regions. Here is a link to all SDO imagery with a few pointers
AIA 131 Teal - best for capturing the flash of flares.
AIA 171 Gold - best for capturing magnetic connections, overall activity, post arcade loops
AIA 211 Purple - best for capturing eruptivity during flares and dimming
AIA 193 Bronze - good for coronal holes esp, but a blend of 171 and 211 showing activity and a glimpse of eruptivity
AIA 304 Red - best for plasma filaments and prominences and eruptivity
The others are great too and have various specialities but the primary ones are above.
If existing active regions do intensify, the forecast will change. We cannot assume they will, although I think they will. The sun is active overall and is able to generate big flares from any location or sunspot group. Even though the existing are not huge gashes like AR3664, AR3664 had humble beginnings too. Even though the spots on the disk are compact, they are fairly intense. I believe the official forecast reflects this. Even with AR3664 off the disk and no longer listed, the M-Class chances are 75% (too low) and the X-Class chances are 40% (I agree). They are seeing the same thing.
OFFICIAL FORECAST -EARTH
WSA-ENLIL shows an atypical setup. There are some small CMEs in the pipe and we are passing through a solar wind enhancement. Not sure where it came from but the parker spiral action is carrying it to and through us. Nothing big out there right now though. CME production remains elevated, including several potential full and partial halo, but currently nothing substantial aimed directly at us. DONKI shows a minor impact in the coming days with max Kp3.
Our star has made its most prolific run yet over the past few weeks. Both generating massive geomagnetic storms on earth and massive flares. Yes, SC23 was more intense in every facet, but SC25 is not over. It has already far exceeded SC24 though and its not close. Get this little fact.
In SC24 there were approximately 48 X-Class flares in the entire cycle which spanned from 2008-2019. In the past 2 weeks have seen more than 25% of that total. In 2 weeks, we got 25% of the way to the entire total of the previous 11 year cycle. And that does not even count the years and months prior of SC25, just the last 2 weeks. I think Mr McIntosh can take a victory lap. He went against the grain, called this a big cycle in direct opposition to NOAA on the basis of his own theory. Bravo! Its not done. We are in solar maximum and that is clear, but what is not clear is just how max this max will be? Nobody can predict the future or what will happen tomorrow on the sun, but I can say that there has NEVER been a better time in all of our recorded civilization to get acquainted with and understand space weather. Not only because of the activity level, the tools available to everyone for free, but because we must be on watch. We are the watchers. If you are here, you know what is up. The rest of the world does not. They do not understand space weather and the think its impossible to do so. Too complicated. Well that is where you come in. Learn it. Understand it. Teach it. Its going to matter in the coming decades, and I would bet everything I own on that. Does that mean CE 2.0? Hell no. Don't immediate jump to extremes, but here is the simple facts. We hit extreme storm levels last weekend from not so extreme storms. It did not harm anything. No widespread damage, just some localized stuff. A transformer blew up in a city about 50 miles from me overnight. Don't see that often. Could it be coincidence it occurred as our earth is trying to process all of the excess energy and current coursing through it? Sure it could be, but I am paying attention. Seismic activity is sharply rising the past few days, with significant attention paid to the south pacific and the caribbean currently. Weather and cloud anomalies all over the place and in strange places. The link to cloud anomalies shows iridiscent clouds usually spotted in polar regions only, yet these are in Vietnam. Many other places too. Are you paying attention?
Coming Article Teaser and Open Letter
I am going to touch on my article that is in the works just a little bit. A teaser if you will because I think it needs to be discussed right now, but when I release it, you will need no less than an hour to read it. It will be comprehensive and supported. I am shooting from the hip here, but I do so from an informed standpoint, the same standpoint I want you to arrive at.
What does ALL of this mean? Should I be scared? Can I jump to conclusions about this? Stop it. One day at at time. We are not scientists here. Most of us have no degrees or letters behind our names. We come armed with logic and the powers of perception, ready to learn. We are in the observation stage. We are looking for signals, correlations, coincidences, anomalies, patterns, etc. We must all determine for ourselves the truth of the matter, with our own eyes, and it starts right here at solarmax.
Now let me get something straight. I am very excited about aurora chances and the study of this field. I have no reason to believe we are in imminent danger. I have no reason to believe that we are in imminent danger tomorrow, or any other time. I recognize that like many forces of nature and the cosmos, that the sun does have the ability to make life pretty hard here, as well as makes all life possible. I give it the respect it deserves, but I do not give it fear or panic. I give it logic and rationality. Logic and rationality tells me that something is up with our planet, and I am not sure its so easily explained by the current narrative. I see man made climate change used far and wide to excuse every development from earthquakes, length of day glitches, changing earths rotation, etc and who am I to argue? I have no degrees as I said. I am just a self taught dude who likes space.
But I would offer them a challenge. Find a way to attribute last weekends massive geomagnetic storm from some relatively low magnitude CMEs to climate change. Go ahead, I will wait. No one would argue that the CMEs from 2003 were stronger, yet the effects were nearly identical and anecdotally more intense. How did our Co2 do that? They will attribute it to starlink satellites or something else man made. ESA swarm mission will tell you that its only decreased 9% on average whatever the hell that means. How can that be, if its been weakening at absolutely positively no less than 5% per century on average with modern estimates much closer to 5% per DECADE. The average rate of loss is no longer reported and is a mystery and possibly a closely guarded secret. As a result, I have no numbers or figures I can give you that I can prove. I will offer you a challenge too though.
Look around. Do you see a pattern? Do you see an acceleration of "things"? Everyone does. Cant deny it. Climate change is a good candidate for it, but we must factor last weekends geomagnetic storm in as anecdotal evidence that something could be changing, quickly. Its not proof. We could not go to a court of law and establish it as fact without refute. Some could say the CMEs combined in an unusual way and it somehow drastically magnified the overall energy content into a single wave. Maybe that is true. I cant refute it with data.
But....we can watch for the next one. We will get another big storm? I dont know. But we will be watching. If we see another storm like last weekend from low end X-Class flares, that could change. Our argument could strengthen, but we must approach it scientifically and logically, even if we are not scientists. Immanuel Velikovsky said that the test of a theory should be the explanation that requires the least in the way of modification, qualifier, and assumption to arrive at a conclusion. Pardon my french, but fuck what the mainstream is telling you. I am not saying they are lying, but am I saying trust your eyes, your instincts. This is IN you. It is in us all.

I am moved and touched by all of the posts, comments, questions, articles, and observations. Someone made an excellent observation overnight about the possible sympathetic nature of the flaring yesterday on direct opposite sides of the sun that I had made myself, but not brought to your attention. I thought maybe the timelapse just made it look sympathetic, but evidently others noticed too. That is what this is all about. Again, I am an armchair analyst. I make no bones about that. I have no qualifications that I could point to that says I know what I am talking about. When I say self taught, I do not just mean this subject. I am self taught in life. I barely graduated high school. I was essentially guaranteed graduation because my high school could not wait to get rid of me. If you are looking for good grammar, punctuation, syntax, etc you will not find it here and ultimately qualified or not, the results and predictions will pan out and prove it or they wont. Either way I will not lie to myself about it. I have been preparing for this for months and I did not know why I was preparing, or why I felt making this sub was so important when so many resources already exist. I am going to ride that wave, but I expect you all to keep me accountable.
I am sorry this was longer than expected. I hope you can get the message and be an adult about it. I am not saying we are in trouble, but I am saying we need to be paying attention. If you want to freak out about it, I cant stop you. Arm yourself with knowledge, and you yourself will know, when or if it is time to freak out. 2024.05.15 17:32 JordanW_ Opinions on PC's that I am looking at building for my girlfriend and myself (details in post)

Got a little bit of saved up money to put towards new builds for my girlfriend and myself. We both have about 8 year old builds or a little older. Looking for advice on if I should change anything. I know the 64 gigs of RAM is quite overkill for most things but after doing some research it's what I went with for now. Builds are going to be used for heavy gaming and streaming, as well as editing including photoshop and video editing but mainly gaming and streaming. My build is all black her is all white.
Edit: I went with the 4tb hard drive along with the SSD mainly for things like photos as well as exported PSD projects.

I have some fairly old generic Peripherals, and screen. I am wanting to purchase new ones but are not in my immediate budget so would rather use the budget I currently have for the PC. Recommendations welcome.

I'm not too familiar with the process so I highly doubt it but wouldn’t mind having it as an option for the future, but it's not super necessary now.

Would like a decent amount of storage (2TB+), and just overall ability to run and use it to do as much as possible.

2024.05.15 17:23 AnxiousVersion All the issues - no diagnosis - no help

For the first time in ~10 years, I'm in a mental place where I feel like I don't exhibit symptoms of clinical depression - so yay for that!
For a long time, doctors have attributed most of my issues to said chronic depression - and I concede, the depression was certainly not helping. But the diagnosis of said depression (and also, y'know, being a woman) means that most doctors never believed me that I might have ADHD - I had to beg them to have me complete diagnostic questionnaires.
Every time I take one of these, I score right on the edge between ADHD and neurotypical-ness (same with autism, btw). And next, the doctors say "yep, might be ADHD" and then they do fucking NOTHING. No meds other than anti-depressants, no recommendations what to do next. Nothing.
Now that I can finally see what life feels like with no (or very slight) depression, I can assess myself more clearly. And some issues have stuck:

I have very little energy, even for things I want and like to do. The only thing that doesn't take energy from me is watching YouTube and crochet/knitting. Even my other "safe" hobby, which is video games, sometimes feels exhausting. A movie, audiobook or netflix is too much commitment because I can't stay focused and lose track of what's happening. Social events is something I need to recover from, even if I like them and need them in order to not feel lonely.
I have a very hard time to get started with things, especially with things that require planning / communication with others / multiple steps. I can only do some things when there are deadlines or I'm being forced by an outside factor. That means I can keep up with most things that I have to do (doing the dishes, paperwork, paying bills etc.) but cannot do optional things that would benefit me or that I would like to do (booking a vacation, doctor's visits for stuff that won't kill me, attending a dance class). Even at work, if I don't have an urgent deadline, I work very slowly or not at all. This has cost me a job before and the main reason I don't have issues with my current job is because I now work for my mom.
My only reasonably productive time is from 4pm to 10 pm. On good days, that is. And when I'm being "productive", I feel its still worse than what a "normal" person would be able to do on a normal day. Also, working in the evening is shitty for my social life.
Rejection sensitivity is still going through the roof.
If I manage to get started with something, I need to do it and finish it RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW. If I have to take a break, all the motivation and flow is GONE.
On the othere hand, if there is something I have to do but don't like doing, that's a massive emotional burden. I can only do baby steps until I need a break, someone has to watch over me so that I can keep going, it takes five times longer than it should and I feel terrible. As a kid, I used to cry for hours when doing boring, hard or otherwise "stupid" homework. At 27, I cry while filing paperwork.
Sticking to routines is hard. Ever since I finished school, my daily routine has degraded and COVID killed what was left. "Brushing my teeth twice daily and getting dressed within an hour of getting up" has been one of my new year's resolutions. This is the only point where I have noticed some clear improvements lately when my depression get better.

The main thing that has changed with me being less depressed is that I hate myself less for the issues mentioned above. With depression, I beat myself up for these things which makes me feel like a total failure. I'm now pretty convinced that my neurodivergency is a massive factor as to why I am / was depressed in the first place, but most professionals won't really consider this. I now am afraid to even ask for medication, because I don't want to be seen as someone who basically wants to do meth legally.
So, that was my "little" rant. I'm glad I was finally able to write something down in a more or less structured way (even though I'm sure I forgot a lot of things). Maybe that will help me convince psych people at some point. Feel free to comment if you relate or have thoughts.

I have 2ish longterm online friends going back 3-4 years now and semi-recently; this past summer we made a new friend who played with the entirty of it. During the school year we don't talk or play as much but, we still talked ocasionally. This is great for me as I don't have any irl friends so even during the periods we don't talk much the small catch up is always nice.
Recently this new friend didn't reply when I messaged him in our discord server which was odd as he usually replys right away. I didn't think much of it, could be asleep or actually busy. Then I noticed he's simply never online anywhere.
On steam it shows he hasn't played anything all week and hasn't even been "online" the past 2 weeks. I distictly remenber him mentioning steam opening everytime he powers on his computer and mentioning he can turn it off. He said it was conivent and kept it so that means he hasn't powered on his computer at all.
Which hey maybe he's taking a break from video games but, he uses his computer for work or just generel media really so that wouldn't make sense.
I also asked some other people who know him and well they hadn't heard from him either.
He's also had health issues in the past. So I really think he just died.
There's no way for me to be %100 sure. I know what state he lived in and his full name but, it's pretty generic.
I don't know how to feel about it. I'll never be able to know anything and it really sucks. It makes me worry about my more longterm online friends. They'll also not know if I die either. I'd just dissapear without answers.

Seeing the immense amount of music that got added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from its DLC packs got me wondering: if Pizza Tower were to get added as part of Smash DLC, which songs would make the cut?
Upon looking through the songs added for each DLC fighter, I concluded that a safe number of songs would be 15; not too low like Minecraft (7), nor unrealistically high like SNK (50). I took things like medleys and merged remixes into account to make a song list that covered as many bases as possible while still being believable. What do y’all think of this:

Song 2 is a remixed mashup of Hot Spaghetti, Cold Spaghetti, and There’s a Bone in My Spaghetti! that uses the core melody of all three songs to make a single track that sends all fighters on a mid-match emotional rollercoaster. Alternative names include Blended Spaghetti and The Spaghetti Mixtape.
Song 12 is a medley of stage themes from each of The Slums’ four levels and boss. These include Way of the Pig, On the Rocks, Peppino’s Sauce Machine, Tubular Trash Zone, and Pizza Time Never Ends, which are considered the best songs of their respective levels. I didn’t want to leave any of them out, so I figured adding them together as a medley would be a good way to save space, along with paying homage to the floor that gave us Snotty.
The decision to blend songs for #2 and #12 stems from not wanting to omit too many songs, while still keeping the song list concise. Though the DLC for ARMS and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 technically added 18 songs each, they’re both Nintendo-owned properties, so we shouldn’t expect a 3rd-party game like Pizza Tower to get the same treatment.
Some other songs that would be included in alternative ways include:

Time for a Smackdown! OR Pizza Deluxe (Reveal trailer theme)
Victorious Degenerate OR Boss Defeated (Victory theme)
Receding Hairline Party OR Hip to Be Italian (Classic Mode credits theme)

A DE-based CT that's inspired by the Goosebumps book "One Day at HorrorLand", that allows the user to cast a DE that's reminiscent of the theme park from the book. This domain mirrors the eerie and dangerous aspects of Horrorland, complete with menacing attractions and terrifying monsters. The user can control and manipulate this park, using it to trap and frighten enemies. Upon activation, the user is automatically transported into a master control room of sorts that allows them to oversee the entirety of the park and opponents via cameras strewn about the park.
The user can also summon and control an innumerable amount of green-skinned, muscular horned shikigami dubbed "Horrors" to be used for offensive, defensive, or support purposes. These shikigami are not only physically strong, but also immensely durable, to the point where nothing can really hurt them. The only thing that can kill these shikigami is pinching them.
The main sure-hit effect of this domain, revolves around the gameshow-based aspects that this domain has to offer. Upon getting caught in this domain, the opponents are randomly placed in different sections of HorrorLand where they are then forced to participate in games involving the various attractions or rides. Everyone is then given 3 lives, that can't be brought or won back, and if all exhausted will result in the death of the opponent.
The unwilling participants and/or participant is able to freely pick which ride or attraction to compete in, with each one having the same win condition: SURVIVE. The how doesn't matter, as long as you survive. They must survive a total of 5 games in order to win, which will then transport them to the exit point of the theme park, or in other words, forcefully deactivate the users domain, which results in a heavy amount of backlash on the user. If there are multiple opponents caught in this domain, only one of them needs to win in order for the whole group to win.
Some of the notable rides and attractions (because it'd take forever to list EVERYTHING lol), as well as their effects are as follows:
Attractions:
Deadly Doom Slides: 10 monstrous slides, each with a different interior and effects. The slides themselves are way bigger on the inside than outside, being more like tunnels than actual slides, or even separate realms entirely. The slides are as follows:

Ear Wax Alley: Appears as a twisted tunnel filled with grotesque, towering sculptures made entirely of ear wax, that can attack whoever enters, with their main method of attack involving coating and immobilizing victims in earwax that slowly corrodes their skin.
Electric Banshee: Appears as a realm of perpetual thunderstorms, where lightning strikes indiscriminately and the air is filled with the haunting wails of spectral banshee-like shikigami that are capable of attacking opponents. The ground crackles with electrical energy, and those who enter risk being struck by lightning or driven mad by the banshees cries.
Worm Belly: Appears as the stomach of a massive, writhing worm. The walls are lined with pulsating organs, and the ground is covered in squirming, slimy worms. The air is thick with the stench of decay, and stomach acid that slowly eats away at those who dared choose this slide.
Dragonbreath Drive: This slide leads to a fiery landscape dominated by a colossal dragon-like shikigami. The sky is filled with smoke and ash, and rivers of molten lava flow through the terrain. The dragon's fiery breath scorches everything in its path, and those who enter must evade its wrath to survive.
Just-a-Drop: A normal slide in appearance at first glance. The effect of this slide however, takes the form of a massive bottomless pit that the victim must figure out how to escape from.
Hairy Luge: This slide is coated in a thick layer of writhing, sentient hair that grips and pulls at anyone who enters. The hair seems to have a mind of its own, forming into grotesque shapes such as hands or weapons, and faces that leer and taunt those trapped within.
Carpenter's Delight: This slide leads to a realm where everything is made of sharp, splintered wood, that unless your entire body is reinforced with CE, you'd easily get impaled. Trees twist and contort into nightmarish shapes, and the ground is littered with jagged wooden shards.
Sewer Slide: This slide descends into a maze-like network of dark, dank sewers filled with toxic waste and monstrous shikigami that can spew toxic waste that burns flesh. The walls are slimy with filth, and the air is thick with the stench of decay.
Infinity Dreadful: This slide leads to a dimension of infinite darkness, where the concept of time and space are warped. Those who enter find themselves trapped in an endless void, with no hope of escape. The darkness consumes everything, including the minds of those who enter.
So That's Where All the Axes Went!: This slide transports individuals to a realm where every surface is covered in sharp, spinning axes. Surviving in this realm requires constant vigilance and agility to avoid being struck by the deadly blades.

Rides:

Bumper Carnage: This bumper car ride is set in a twisted, nightmarish version of a carnival midway. The cars are equipped with spikes and blades, and riders must dodge not only other cars but also the deadly obstacles that litter the track.
Calamity Canyon: Victims board a seemingly normal log flume ride that quickly descends into darkness. The waters become murky and filled with unseen shikigami that pull riders under, only to spit them out onto a crumbling, narrow path along a cliff's edge. The ride culminates in a final drop into a pool of blood-red water.
Dead Ringer: Riders board a carousel where each horse is adorned with a skeletal rider. As the carousel spins faster and faster, the skeletal riders come to life, reaching out to grab and pull a riders soul out of their body, and then them into a another skeletal rider.
Wheel of Misfortune: This Ferris wheel takes riders to dizzying heights before suddenly stopping, leaving them suspended in mid-air. The cabins then begin to rotate rapidly at supersonic speeds, causing disorientation. Some cabins even detach randomly and plummet to the ground.
Monster Mash: This haunted house ride is filled with animatronic monsters that come to life, chasing and attacking riders as they make their way through dark, winding corridors.
HorrorLand Derby: Riders board decrepit bumper cars that take on a life of their own. The cars steer themselves, crashing into each other with bone-jarring force. The arena is shrouded in darkness, and eerie laughter echoes through the air as the cars relentlessly pursue their terrified opponents.

I am 25F and I have wasted a lot of time. This is mostly a rant, but I really need some advice as well.
I live with my parents. I lived with them when I went to college and never moved out.
I have a BA in English. I graduated right after the pandemic when the job market was pretty weak. I tried to apply for some positions but most of them were very far (my parents live in a village. It takes around 2 hours to get to the city by public transport, 1 hour by car but I didn't have a car back then). And because my country and city are smaller, there weren't many remote options, especially for people who were just starting. So I settled for remote tutoring. I work 20 hours a week and I have a low average monthly income. I often feel tired from even 5 hours a day (one-on-one conversations are exhausting for me) and I'm scared/too lazy to take on more hours. It also means that for the past 4 years that I've been working, I didn't have any PTOs, benefits or any career movements. I'm not sure I can even call it a work experience.
I don't have any irl friends. I lost contact with my school and college friends as soon as I graduated, and as I work remotely and leave my house very rarely, I don't meet new people. If I do go out, it's usually with my mom and little sister. Partly because I really like them and theur company; mostly because I don't have other people to hang out with and I don't want to do it alone. The only friends I have are the ones I met online playing computer games.
I have never had even as much as a kiss. And I'm not unattractive, a few guys back in high school and college were interested. But I always got scared and became distant as soon as I could feel some interest from them. I am in an online relationship now, and at first I entertained the idea of actually meeting with him and maybe even living together, but now after almost a year I realize it's not something he wants to do. He's in a similar position (never dated before, doesn't have many friends offline etc) and when I said this relationship might not be for me, he got so sad. At this point I'm only with him because I don't want to make him sad.
I don't even have much money despite living with my parents and not paying rent. I spend it regularly on games and online shopping and now I have maybe enough to live for about 4 months, if I were to stop working.
And I really just waste a lot of time, by mindlessly scrolling social media. I used to read and watch a lot, and learn new things. I don't do that now.
And looking at everything, I realize that I'm the one who let things get this bad. I have financial support of my parents but I never did anything but be lazy and scared. I have a car now. I'm trying to learn programming but I keep seeing that the situation on the market is pretty bad, and my motivation often disappears for weeks. I'm afraid to act and I'm afraid to change. So how do I get my life together?

So to summarize the rules Normal hc rules 1. 1st pokemon per route 2. Dead if faints 3. No items 4. Set modes 5. Level caps by gym leader's /elite four's ace 6. Dupes clause
Extra rules

No setup/stat boosting moves
No recovery moves like recover, roost, rest etc(I think I started this from gym 5)
No encore, substitute, reflect, light screen.(might have used once or twice in mid game)
No gems
No specific ev training (like vitamins, wings and battling tons of wild mons, I'm using rare candies)

Also I have hacked in infinite battles points and money to allow myself to buy any item or tm from pokemart or subway/pwt.
Right now we are at 6 deaths, and the remaining pokemon are in the photos.
I am currently planning for the elite 4 and only have a rough idea but nothing concrete since in every previous hc nuzlocke I relied on setup moves. So I need any help I can get, preferably from the experience of someone who attempted something similar.
In case you need to know abt a certain pokemon like it's nature or stats you can comment
I'll write the abilities of some mons I'm thinking to bring
Mienshao - regenerator Haxorus (female) - rivalry Skarmory - sturdy Excadrill - sand rush Metagross - clear body
I got unlucky with golurk being klutz instead of iron fist (and also bad ivs) and chandelure being flame body instead of flash fire, but if you think they can work without those, you can elaborate.
Btw this nuzlocke is going for months but still on it's first attempt only.

Tl;dr Version for anyone who doesn't want to read a bit of a rant: This game is way too damn greedy.
Some Various disclaimers and background information before the rant:

No, this is post is not to shame people who aren't FTP. Do what you want with your money, I just want to explain why I don't think I'll ever support this game financially and see how the rest of the community feels. This is also not some propaganda to get you to either not spend money or stop spending money, or in other words by all means keep supporting Shift-Up and their products, do you boo.
I'm not the biggest gacha game player, I've only played two prior to this (Girls Frontline and some Star Wars one), both that I did end up throwing a little money at to support them despite Nikke ultimately being more fun imo (just to show no, I'm not against in game purchases for free games out of principle)
I do enjoy this game and don't imagine I'll stop playing any time soon, as far as phone games go this is probably the most fun I've had (not the highest bar to set, I know).
I understand that ultimately the goal of any game is to generate income, and I don't hold it against any game. Rather I have a problem with how this game "encourages" you to spend money.
I started playing this game during the RE:Zero collab and quickly came to this conclusion, don't know what ultimately compelled me to rant about it (maybe just one too many all blue pulls)

Okay with that out the way let's get to the meat of the issue, which can honestly be summarized to 2 main sins so hell get ready for another list I guess : ^ )
1.The top heavy nature of the roster. "When everybody's special, no one will be"- Angry animated ginger dude (rip in peace). When I first started playing this game and doing some pulls I felt like a superstar, I mean wow I'm pulling all these super rares like it's nothing, even got all my counter girls maxed out and after about ~60 pulls I've managed 2 super super rares! Then I started to notice how all these "super rares" seem to have all hit max limit break and peeked at the Nikkepedia to realize the sad truth of this game. Given my past experiences with gacha I expected maybe something like 30% of the roster to be "SSR", not 95%. What's even more baffling is that the SSR actually does have it's own subcategory of "hey, these are actually the super rare ones" with Pilgrims having a miniscule chance to pull. I didn't want to put a list inside my list ( yo dawg, heard you like lists) but there's a few reasons why I really dislike this, and it was getting more and more "massive block of text" while I typed it so sorry.
-The first and probably most readily apparent issue being that it means you're unlocking new characters at a snails pace. It feels like the intended way to unlock new characters is to throw thousands of gems/ recruit rosters at the slot machine so you can do the high quality mold to actually have a chance (more on this later) to get a new character. I realize luck is a subjective matter, and yeah I've seen posts from people bragging about pulling 4-5 SSR in a pull, but objectively speaking the other gacha games were far more generous with the unlocking of new characters.
-Secondly, and probably what I hate the most, is that these "SSR" are simply not created equally (putting aside the obvious and aforementioned "actual SSR" of the pilgrims). I'm not saying every Nikke has to be an absolute powerhouse (more on this later) but if you want to make Nikkes that are just inferior versions of other Nikkes or have kits that just straight up aren't good, I dunno chief...maybe put them in a lower tier of the roster? Hell putting aside the meta/ actually caring about the kits of your waifus let's just talk about the lore/ backstory of these characters. Matis (my favorite squad, big hearts and kisses especially for Drake), the super star hero squad and best the Missilis company has to offer? Okay sure, makes sense they're SRR. Prima Donna Nikkes that...work in the music industry for some reason? Uh okay not sure why these military bots are making music but they're famous ig so why not, SSR it is. Oh hey Absolute, Rapi's former squad and supposed elite of Elysion now that's a contender for SSR for sure. Maid for you, Nikkes that run a maid cafe...well let's make em SSR. Okay okay I shouldn't hawk on the waifu game having waifus that are character archetypes even if it makes absolutely no sense in the setting of the game but you still get the point right? You have characters that are presented to you as the cream of the crop (in other words have lore friendly reasons to be classified as SSR) thrown into the same category of rarity of characters that work in maid cafes or other random civilian jobs/ hobbies. This all putting aside the actual strength of these character's kits (Matis is pretty good at least, big hearts and kisses) I'm simply referring to the story reasons for characters to be presented as "SSR".
-Thirdly this all just reeks of some system you see in a lot of games where they use certain words to artificially make you feel more accomplished, if that makes any sense. The lowest tier (of absolute garbage) is referred to as "rare", the slightly better but ultimately still useless (<3 u Rapi/ Anne) tier is "super rare", and the bulk of the roster is "super super rare." Fellas, that's not how the word "rare" works at all. I feel like most games at least refer to their filler trash as "common" or the like so why does the game call the, in lore, mass produced no personality foot soldier Nikkes "rare"? This leads back to "SSR" having it's own category of rarity, did they realize "SSSR" would look and sound stupid so that's why Pilgrims don't have their own category? I dunno, could have called it "ultra super dooper cream your pants because you're a real winner rare" or they could have just (alongside making some of the "unworthies" a lower tier) gone with 4 tiers with a more honest and conventional naming system (common- uncommon-rare-epic) but they didn't because that doesn't trigger the dopamine in slack jawed gamer so they like you more and spend more money or whatever reason so many games use terminology that feels like patting you on the back. Almost lost my cool there, sounding a lil schizo huh? Let's move on to the other main point to save face.

The way progression is handled (and how that ties to the roster) "When you come to it and you can't go through it and you can't knock it down, you know that you've found the wall, the wall, the wall." -Mark Henry (still kicking, I think). Gacha games, or really most games, have parts that are for the cream of the crop. The real go getters (or go spenders) who invest a lot of time (or money) into the game and are rewarded for it. Usually these are things like raids or other limited time events, typically speaking though it's not the main story of the game that's the major hurdle for the playerbase to surmount. Typically speaking there's a slow and steady incline of requirements for players to progress through the story of a game, be it skill (let's be honest, not really a factor for gacha games) or equipment/loot, but not here. Instead you have rapidly increasing arbitrary "recommended power levels" (yes, we'll talk about this later) coupled with a massive middle finger in the form of level limit/ limit breaking in a nice package of pain and inconvenience, because I hate you for enjoying and caring about the story we wrote (which the game will proceed to spoil in events, which have a way lower bar of entry) or something idk. Jamie, pull up that list again.

-So pulling a SRR is "accomplishment" enough, pulling the same SRR 3 more times is whack crazy luck, doing that whole process 5 times is insultingly absurd (b-buh muh Kilo tho, because rip anybody who wasn't here for this event). Technically speaking there are systems in place to make this easier, but both of them are still hella rough. You can either use the wishlist feature (on the normal recruitment, and not for pilgrims) to cut out the massive bloat of SRR you don't care about and still pray on that 4% chance or you can grind out 200 total recruits to get mileage tickets to knock out one of 20 pulls you'll need in order to get pass this wall. You've already seen posts either lamenting their luck or singing praises to lord because after months people have managed this, and imo that is not a good system of progression for the main story of your game. I don't have a problem with there being content that encourages you to spend money, for heavens sake they have a "hard campaign" (which is just the same lay out of campaign maps with massively spiked up requirements with the same exact rewards as the normal story, minus the actual story part) so why not just let people enjoy the normal campaign. It comes off as a really cheap and scummy way to encourage people to spend money, holding the story of your game hostage. Just lower the requirements of the normal campaign, I'm sure older players don't have the "naw these new players need to suffer like I suffered" mentality, nobody is going to be mad at you.
-Oh yeah, recommended power levels. A lot of games have the system of "increase your number to keep up with the enemies increasing number" but none of those feels like a slap in the face as this game's system of "you'll either meet this required number or we'll just nerf your damage to the ground" (evidently the exact percentage of this used to be a lot worse before they patched it, further proof that the playerbase isn't against the game being made more accessible). This is probably the part where the Nikke superfan tells me I just have a massive skill issue and it's totally possible to clear these missions at a deficit, and this is absolutely true. I've seem some superstars talking about clearing levels while under 20k or more the recommended amount (I've only managed 10k, all thanks to Crown whom I love and cherish) and you know what the secret to success is? I just hinted at it in those parenthesis but it comes down to pulling "the right" SSR Nikkes. Okay that's a little disingenuous , as there's a little bit of skill/ understanding of the games system involved and grinding out the various resources you need to level said actually good SSR Nikkes, but it doesn't change the fact that there are Nikkes you actually want if you care about progressing through the game and there's all the ones you don't that seemingly only exist to reduce your chances of pulling these Nikkes. Let's backtrack to that "wishlist" system for a bit, which is what is intended to make sure you get the (non pilgrim) Nikkes you want like Liter or Tia. You'll recall that the wishlist doesn't increase your total chance to pull a SRR (makes sense) but just ensures that you only pull the designated SSR, but the problem is this only applies to this normal pulling. It is still my opinion that most of the SSR you're gonna get are going to come from the various molds, which cleverly has no such system of wishliting (because let's be honest, this would probably destroy any incentive to pay money for people who don't care about costumes). So you're either dealing with a system of most likely not getting any SSR from normal pulling or having a slim chance of pulling the SSR you need (assuming you even pull a SSR to begin with) with the mold, neither of which sound too appealing to me
-Speaking of molds, and this probably going to be my most controversial take (or at the least the most demanding), it is blatantly unfair that high quality and company molds aren't a guaranteed SSR. In the case of of the high quality mold the process of getting one is slow enough (I maybe manage 1 a week, outside of events or CD redemption that may give more) and there are enough SSR (putting aside the fact that you want to pull the same SSR multiple times anyway) that I really don't think it would be that bad if you just don't let us get kicked in the gut by pulling Neon after all that effort. In the case of the company specific molds from the tribe towers you are quite literally hard limited to pulling 3-7 a day (assuming of course you have a squad capable of tackling the tower), and you're going to make them have an even lower total chance of a SSR than the normal high quality mold. I'm only half way to my pilgrim mold (I had to wait till crown before I even felt like starting the tower, because even doing the easiest levels is mind numbing with just one Nikke) but I've heard horror stories of going 5 pilgrim molds with no pilgrim in sight, and ngl I may just weep when it's my turn to experience that. If you want to further reduce the acquisition of molds to still encourage some spending that's fine by me, but please let us have some safety net in this ruthless Nikke grind.
That's pretty much it for the rant so I just want to finish with some closing thoughts. I really do like this game, honest, and I wouldn't mind supporting it if it just didn't make me feel so used and abused. There are plenty of games with microtransactions or additional content where it feels like you're buying them because you want to support the dev, not because it feels like they're holding a gun to your head, and I just want this game to feel more like the former. I'm happy to discuss this rant further if anybody has their own ideas and opinions (or even if people just want to defend the game) so let me know what yall think, assuming you even read that blob of text up there.

...This is the point when we realized we had been tricked, or “conned” as the Humans would say. Locked into a deal we couldn’t get out of. Most of the “clients” were stunned, they didn’t do anything because what can you do against a conglomerate that not only has more money than you but has legal grounds over you? Fight back, maybe? Some thought that was a good idea. In some colonies, organized revolts were set up and conducted, thinking to outplay the Humans at their own game.
However, when dealing with Humans, there’s a lot to remember, and these rebels seemingly forgot that this is the species that produces the galaxy’s newest military tech, the same species that has 73 out of the top 100 military schools in the galaxy, the same species that had enough cunning to outsmart us of our independence in the first place.
So naturally when these revolutionaries attempted to capitulate the standing corporate liaisons, they were all arrested by the far more experienced local law enforcement division which comprised a recently established Human mercenary enclave, keep that in mind because it comes back later. The revolting worlds were completely seized by these Human Megacorporations, and they got an early taste of what was to come for the rest of us.
Anyways, while some of these colonies resisted, most just tried to endure. After all, the contract would end in a few [years] and the Megacorps would all leave. Well, when the contracts had finally ended, the colonists faced a problem. What we’ve seen up until now is the problems that you face when you don’t read what’s in the fine print, I never addressed what happens when you don’t read what’s not there. Here’s what I mean: The corporations stuck to their word, or at least the wording of the contract, and successfully established planetary infrastructure, they built highways, dams, power plants, rail lines, satellite arrays, and so on. However, the Humans utilized yet another power of the fine print, and that was the contract’s omission of finer details.
Let’s take an example in Clause 4, Paragraph 2, Section 3:
“[...] the provider must fully construct sufficient global infrastructure on the relevant celestial body, at minimum fulfilling the needs of highway cargo access, rail networks, interplanetary and interstellar logistics channels, planetary cellular networking designed for civilian use, and proper plumbing and electrical systems as the terms are defined in a legally recognized pan-galactic dictionary. [...]”
Now, this was clever, because all the Humans had to do was build “a track or set of tracks made of synthetic rails along which passenger and/or freight trains run” or “an electronic communications network that connects computer networks and organizational computer facilities around the world”. So while these train engines were capable of transporting [Hundreds of tons] of material at high speeds, they were only designed to be operated by specifically designed conductor drones, making it nearly impossible to operate these devices any way else. It was the same story for every other vehicle the Humans placed around. And, touching back to the initial agreement, These Megacorporations would take their employees and directly owned equipment off-world to serve some other purpose. These, as it turns out, included the very drones that were needed to pilot the vehicles that served as the lifeblood of each planet’s infrastructure.
Not only those logistics drones, but every last extraction drone, farming robot, construction probe, and angler droid was taken. The Humans simply asked us to refer to our contracts once more and deal with the consequences. However, we were becoming desperate, they forced us to change our professions and moved us [miles] away from the countryside. Logistics and transportation lines were set to rapidly break down, millions would starve if we didn’t get our infrastructure back online.
At first, many thought we could reverse-engineer human tech to suit our needs, creating our own designs and all. But those that had backgrounds in Robotics and technical engineering were conveniently taken off-world with their families, promised a new life with higher paying jobs. We should have seen this as off. There were prodigies on our planets, doctors, physicists, and those who could make more of a difference in the galaxy than just building or designing automatons. But that’s not why they were taken off the world, They were taken off the world to cripple us, while in exchange we got the unskilled working class, made to labor in factories, not designing infrastructure. Many even questioned whether or not the Roboticists were employed, instead perhaps being taken to some corporate blacksite to be shot. Knowing the cold-hearted nature of these conglomerates, many found this story to be believable.

2024.05.15 16:00 AquaticArroww How to understand laptop components for beginners trying to buy a laptop (For you Laptop enthusiasts and pros you can just skip this..) WARNING: THIS IS EXTREMELY LONG

Processors: There are two brands. named AMD ryzen and intel core. they both have their own shares of powerful specs. the difference between the two?
Amd: it is technically more cheaper when laptops have this, it has "better" multi tasking than intel and also usually has a long battery life.
Intel: It is used for high power and "flagship" laptops. it has better single core performance than ryzen making it a better processor for gaming. (Usually btw).
All processors have a suffix. for example intel core i7 13620(H) HK and HX are the highest performance with all SKU's unlocked "This means that they can unlock better features. this is known by the last 3 digits. the higher number it makes it better." P and U stands for power efficient and is usually optimized for thinner and lighter laptops, U is also in the same category as Y being a power efficient processor. while Y is low- power efficient. i believe this is the same with ryzen.
GPU: there are 3 brands "4 technically" Intel, Amd Radeon and Nvidia. Intel is used for work laptops usually and only light gaming can be used. Amd radeon on the other hand is a cheaper alternative to Nvidia and can handle Gaming. just not in highest graphics or whatever. While Nvidia is highly regarded as the best of the 3. its special perk is that it uses a better RayTracing than the others. (Ray tracing is when a game's resolution, and realistic-ness will be higher. such as a better reflection on glass and just generally everything feeling lifelike.)
Intel has 3 types of gpus (Correct me if im wrong.) Intel Iris Xe (Used as some sort of regular Integrated graphics (igpu) for general work.) Intel arc (a dedicated gpu for mainstream purposes. such as schoolwork and such.) Intel UHD (Not really a good laptop for gaming. but it is suitable for games that are undemanding and is pretty old.)
AMD has the vega series. it is used for content creation and has high performance in gaming.
While nvidia has MX, GTX and RTX. MX is used for light-medium gaming with a balanced score of Performance and power effiency. this is usually used for laptops that arent built for powerful gaming except for students. GTX has the (correct me if im wrong) strongest performance out of all of them. with a good price ratio aswell. RTX is a gpu mostly used for Ray tracing while still having good performance in gaming aswell.
Next to them there is also Memory and Storage. Memory is used for when you are opening a bunch of programs/softwares or doing intensified performance. the higher the memory the fastethe extra amount of programs can be run while still being smooth and fast. Memory is expressed by RAM (Pretty sure yall already know this from like grade 5 or something) 4 and 8 gb (rarely 12) are used for things such as browsing and watching videos. this isnt really recommended. 16 and 24 gb are used for things such as work and having many programs open that arent demanding. 32gb is "The sweet spot" this amount of ram is used for gamers and content creators alike. as this is the most recommended amount for playing intensified programs and games. On the other side storage is the permanent amount of files inside of your laptop. same as Memory the higher the amount the better. 128-256GB ram storage: Not recommended but it is still great for work and school/college. 512: this is the common usage of gamers. although it is mostly used for upgrading to 1 terabyte. 1 terabyte and higher: this is used for content creators and people who 3d models and animates.
Onto the laptop screen display. there is about 6 screen sizes. 13 inches and lower: this is for people that'd prefer portability over performance. while still being able to do work. 14 inches: this is the middle of 13 inches and 15 inches. this is both portability and performance on one screen size. but a rather niche market to buy in. 15 inches: Used for performance and gaming this is the apex of gamers unable to buy a pc. 16 inches and higher: used for people that requires a bigger screen and better resolution.
There is two different types of screen types, IPS LCD: The standard and it is used for people that generally doesnt need better coloring on their displays. OLED: this is a special type of screen where the color ratio is more than the resolution. this is used for people who wants a color sensitive screen. there is different types of resolution such as FHD: 1080p (The standard) WUXGA 1200p (People who wants a stronger display for some reason.) WQHD-QHD 1400p (Usually a better upgrade for people that'd like to watch videos on a higher resolution.) WQXGA 1600p (Good resolution for those who has gpu's good enough to match the resolution.) 2.8k (Best resolution for content creators that enjoy powerful resolution.) 4K (This is obvious.)

I would like to start this off by saying I'm sorry; this is a long one, and I appreciate any advice or help I can get. Also, to anyone willing to read this, thank you so much! I'm currently looking for a new job but having no luck, so I'm trying to also improve my current situation as much as I can.
I’m 28 and work in California for a school district in IT, and I love IT. The only problem is my boss. I've worked this job for almost 5 years now, and he has been the boss at this school district for almost 10 years. He's really good at the IT side of his job, but as a manager, not so much. He likes to call his employees morons, yell at and reprimand employees in front of coworkers. He's now caused several employees to quit or seek therapy (including myself). One time, I was sitting in my office working on a project, and he yelled across the office, "Gojo, get your ass in here," for the whole office to hear, and then proceeded to chew me out with the office door open and the entire office listening. He believes fear is a good management tool, which isn't really my style. His current thing to do is trying to pit us against each other and talk trash about other employees when they aren’t around. He micro manages everything you do and calls you stupid if you aren’t doing something exactly the way he wants you to. If there is a way you can save literally TWO seconds on a task and you aren’t doing it that way, he gets upset. After he does all of that, then he tries to be nice and talk about video games with you or buy the office food or let people go home 20 minutes early, but then it’s right back to the usual harassment.
Almost a year ago, I interviewed for and got the open Tech II position, promoted from Tech I. At the time, I was interested because I would learn a lot of things that would help me get different jobs, and it was a little more money. I regretted this promotion really early on. I dread coming to work and several times almost quit on the spot with no job lined up. Therapy has helped a lot with these emotions.
Outside of my boss being terrible, he also piles on work and gives the line, "You’re a Tech II now; you should be able to do all of this," or "You’re a Tech II; you have to figure out how to balance all the work." Currently, I’m balancing 12 projects, providing tech support for our district office, working as an escalation point for our Tech I’s(we have 4 soon to be 6 and they support 15 schools), and assisting our network admin with his projects. While I’m trying to do all that, my boss is also yelling from across the hall, adding more tasks that he needs me to work on and needs to be done that day. As a Tech I, your main task was working on help tickets for about 3 schools, and then during the summer, you helped with some projects. This promotion got me a whole $2 an hour increase in pay.
I am currently working on getting a new job. I’m applying for city, county, and state IT positions, but they take months before they even start interviewing for those positions, and the entire process is taking a long time. In the meantime, I’m reaching out to my union to see if I’m able to demote back down to Tech I. That doesn’t help with the boss situation, but it does help with the lack of compensation for all the extra work.
As far as my boss goes, I want to report him to HR, but I have no physical evidence, and most of my coworkers are afraid. I’m starting to document in my notes every time he is inappropriate, the date and time of that incident, and who was a witness. He’s pretty smart about how he does everything, nothing in writing, no emails, or texts. If I do report him, it has to be enough to actually get him fired. I’ve been told teachers have reported him to HR in the past, then HR has told his boss, and then his boss tells him about who reported him, and nothing has ever come out of it. He likes to hire people new to the industry or really young people so they are less likely to push back at him or are too intimidated to report him. He has bragged to us several times about how if he ever did get fired he’s taking people down with him because he knows all the districts dirty secrets.
How can I legally obtain evidence of his abuse? What should I know about reporting bosses to HR? I don’t know what to do anymore. I really appreciate anyone who took the time to read through this. I have plenty more examples of his abuse if anyone needs more, this was already a really long post so I didn't want to add more.
