2024.05.16 16:46 ducklife Duck Life 9: The Flock - Full game release on Steam
Hello
pcgaming,
I started working on the Duck Life series when I was 14 years old, and since then, I've successfully launched 8 chapters of the series. After almost 2 years of hard work, I have finally released my most ambitious project to date! As a small indie studio, we could not have accomplished this monumental achievement without the support of our fans and beta testers. The Duck Life series has been a labour of love for us here at Wix, so thank you for hopefully coming along on this adventure with me!
Duck Life 9: The Flock is a game where ducks are still finding new ways to do what they do best - honing their skills and racing their way to the top! This chapter takes the fundamentals of the older games, where you raise a duckling to become a racing champion, while also a boatload of new features - the main one being the ability to cultivate a larger collection of ducks and build them a snug little home on Featherhaven Island. You’ll still find an array of training games (which the franchise is famous for) and mini-games to progress through, but this time, it’s taking place in a much more ambitious 3D space, with farming, fishing, fashion, and more.
Launch Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ_DfFFdo_4 Steam store page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2416880/Duck_Life_9_The_Flock/ Our Discord community: https://discord.gg/xXVcMYC5xe Key features - Plucky Polygons - 3D Graphics: Duck Life 9 is now in THREE DIMENSIONS! We can finally stand shoulder-to-shoulder with many other popular games that we’ve considered an inspiration in the past, and racing your ducks can now be enjoyed the way it was intended all those years ago.
- Cultural Exchange - New Animal Friends: Duck Life finally has more than just ducks! Duck Life 9 now has a cast of over 15 new characters, each with their own way to help contribute to your flock. Don’t be shy, they don’t bite! (Apart from Tyler the Tiger).
- It’s Honest Work - Farming: Over the course of your adventure, you’ll be picking up various seeds that you can plant in your village to grow Juicespruce, Duckroot, Dazeradish, and more…Given the right tools and a little bit of patience, you’ll never run out of provisions again!
- Community of Cuties - Build Your Village: Expand your flock and make it your own! - it’s the name of the game :D. After you uncover the full expanse of The Flock’s area, then you can really start to get your SimCity juices flowing and build some delightful ducky neighbourhoods.
- Talk the Talk - Conversational Ducks: In Duck Life 9, you won’t have to stare silently into the middle of the discussion anymore. Now, you can talk back! You can even steer the discussion as you see fit, with multiple response options when talking to your island chums.
So right off the bat, the game already has dozens of hours of content. We have a tight knit and flourishing community over at the Discord, so come join us! I'm always there hanging out, taking feedback, and discussing the game.

2024.05.16 14:58 RickeyBaker Transitioning from ocean survey to GIS
Hi all. I have been working in the ocean survey world for around 6 years now. Though it is not a purely GIS job, I do a lot of work creating GIS products. Typically things like creating contours, coverage polygons, creating and managing deployment locations, generate raster products like slope or aspect grids, etc. I also look into lots of public gis data to see what kinda protected areas may be in a survey area, what vessel traffic and fishing looks like, offshore oil and gas or wind platforms, etc. I also know how to automate simple things with python and arcpy and have some light familiarity with SQL (mostly just from simple attribute queries though).
Anyways, I’ve been wanting to transition into other land based GIS positions as surveying months at sea can become old. My question is, would this be enough experience to transition into any GIS or GIS adjacent jobs? Most my GIS work doesn’t involve massive databases, making web-maps, or other more involved work, so I’m not sure. I feel confident I could learn fast but don’t know if my experience is enough to get me in the door.

2024.05.15 20:34 missdeb99912 Need advice and feedback - 8 yo speech therapy
Nephew is 8 and behind in reading and writing, and I believe he has CAS. He has speech therapy 3x a week at school. School SLP is 65 years old. We have asked her for guidance on additional therapy, and she has always been hesitant. She hasn’t shared things to do at home to help with speech issue — just sounds and reading worksheets. She said she thinks he has “weak” muscles. She even said he could be tested by a neurologist for motor issues?? I emailed her asking for guidance on next steps on testing and also on home activities. Also stressed what I’ve been learning about the importance of specialized therapy. This is the response. I don’t know how feel about this. What are everyone’s thoughts? For context, we are struggling finding providers as nephew lives in super rural area. What do we ask for, specifically?

2024.05.15 19:47 --angels-fanatic-- Help creating an algorithm to measure area with imprecise measurements inputs
I have created a simple room sketching component where the user can basically sketch out the general shape of a room, then click on each wall and enter in the length of that wall in feet/inches.
The sketch and the actual measurements of the walls are almost never going to match and the measurements are not going to be super precise.
I need to get an approx sqft calculation from these imprecise measurements.
For example, say the user sketches 4 walls. The top wall they enter a length of 14'6", then the right wall 8'9", then the bottom wall 14'9", then the left wall 9'2".
This is just a simple example, but a room might have 8 or 9 different walls with bay window angles and such. It's very possible that the totals of each wall won't match up to close the loop to get a polygon area calculation, and I can't force the user to have precise measurements to do this.
How would you attack this problem to get a somewhat close square foot value?

2024.05.15 17:47 FailOutrageous2553 How would I calculate beach width at multiple points in ArcGIS Pro?
| I'm using ArcGIS Pro 3.1.3 I have point data representing hundreds of sample collection sites distributed across several beaches. I am trying to determine the width of the sandy beach (measured from the waterline to where the vegetation begins) at each point. Basically, I want to add a field in the attribute table where each cell contains the length of an imaginary line (represented by the dotted line in the attached photo) that stretches from the waterline, through the point (represented by the red points in the photo), straight back to the vegetation. Since I have >3,000 points, I need a process to do this automatically, rather than measuring the beach width at each point individually. I have a few files that I suspect I can use to do this, but I just don't know how to do it: - Preferred file to use! Classified land cover data (.tif file), as shown in the attached photo. I would use just the classified sand pixels and calculate the width of the area that is classified as sand (between the water and vegetation land class types) at each point. I could obviously convert the dry sand raster to a polygon if it would make the process easier.
- I can create a polygon that outlines the entire beach.
- I can get/make a polyline that follows the water edge and a second line that traces the edge of the vegetation and then calculate the distance between the two features at each point.
I've been searching for solutions online but I just can't find anything. I suspect I am using the wrong search terms. submitted by FailOutrageous2553 to gis [link] [comments] |

Does Qgis has a way for every polygon created to automatically show the area of it? Or let's say I make some changes to the polygons, can it show the area automatically when I click save? 2024.05.15 02:09 nspkin [PC][2005-2012] 3D Fishing?/Underwater exploration game
Hi! So I've had memories of playing this game when I was younger either on my grandma's laptop or desktop (though I might be leaning laptop, if that matters at all - both were windows os) I think it must have been some sort of fishing game ? though I never played it for this aspect of the game so details on the actual fishing mechanics (if any) are nonexistent, all I can remember is there may have been a shop to buy upgrades and bait and such
THE MOST IMPORTANT DETAIL I REMEMBER is that this particular game was 3D with simple realistic polygon graphics (game could not have been made after 2012 but could be before 2005) and it had some sort of free cam mode controlled by the mouse wheel zooming in and out, zooming up made you move forwards while down was backwards and you'd control the camera by moving the mouse In free cam mode you did not have an avatar but you could zoom in underneath the water as well as go above the surface looking at a lake type map with very few npc people (i recall maybe one npc on a boat or a dock on the lake?) I'm pretty sure there were multiple maps as I vividly remember exploring a more deep sea type area with a shipwreck and I'm 99% it was a part of the same game with the lake map There may have been fish swimming in the water or there may not have been but I do remember being able to "zoom" around underneath the surface and explore (I would pretend to be a fish in my little child brain) and there was no real objective or any mission (at least to my knowledge) when in this freecam mode
I've never even been able to find a fishing game with a similar freecam mode let alone one that was made decades ago but I swear this game wasn't a fever dream and I'd love to be able to see it again !!

2024.05.14 15:41 RoxyAndFarley Canine Mammary Grade III Anaplastic Carcinoma
Species: Dog, mixed breed rescue
Age: 11 years old
Sex: Female, Spayed (she was spayed later in life than is recommended)
Weight: 40 lbs, very lean and has never been overweight
Relevant History: She has a history of both benign and malignant lumps including benign skin tags (4 years ago), benign mammary duct ectasia (4 years ago), malignant mammary tumor that was low grade/very small and caught early removed 2 years ago, had chest x-rays every 6 months since and all have been clear of indications of metastasis or reoccurance. The type of cancer this tumor was is considered a low to medium risk of metastasis or recurrence.
Current Presentation: About 5 weeks ago I noticed during a regular inspection for lumps and bumps that my dog was developing a skin infection near her rear most mammary region. She did have a run in with some fire ants so I assumed it had been an ant bite that got infected. When I brought her to the vet, the vet noted what felt like a tumor directly below the infection. It was hard to feel/palpate when the dog was in most positions, but she was able to feel it was there. The recommendation was to treat the skin infection and then, once clear of infection, proceed with lumpectomy and biopsy. She completed a 14 day course of cefpodoxime oral antibiotics but the infection did not improve. She was given a second course of the same but after 5 days it was getting worse rather than better. The vet prescribed oral clindamycin instead to see if that would clear it. She did a full course of that and when it was clear the infection was persisting we were advised to consider moving forward with the lumpectomy in case the tumoassociated hormone impact/immune impact may have been causing the infection resistance to improvement.
She had surgery on May 8th to remove the lump and some of the infection damaged tissue. Since then, her incision has stayed looking good (no swelling, no unusual colored discharge, appears to be closing up nicely) but as of yesterday, she developed an odor that I can only describe as smelling like infection. I might be wrong as I am not sure what a normal odor from a surgical site might be, but from an instinct level, it just seems off to me. She is still on clindamycin and the skin itself does not appear infected despite the odor. She does not have a fever or any other infection symptoms.
Her energy level is good and normal (she's still a highly active dog/more active than most young dogs we know), has a good appetite, and healthy bowel movements. She has no other health issues besides this. We have been keeping her confined other than potty breaks so she does not run and jump and ruin her stitches.
With all this context, yesterday we received the histopathology report from her lumpectomy. It does not sound good at all. The vet has offered a referral to an oncologist.
Clinical Report: I don't know how to attach the histopathology report directly, so I am copy/pasting the relevant sections below.
Description Haired skin, masss left caudal mammary chain: Elevating the epidermis and extending from the superficial dermis into the subcutis is a densely cellular, unencapsulated, poorly demarcated, infiltrative neoplasm composed of polygonal cells with distinct cell borders arranged in lobules, islands, nests, loose sheets, and rare tubules on a dense fibrovascular stroma. Neoplastic cells have a moderate amount of eosinophilic cytoplasm and a single round, centrally positioned nucleus with finely stippled chromatin and 1-3 prominent, round, basophilic nucleoli. Anisocytosis and anisokaryosis are moderate. Four mitotic figures are noted in ten high powered fields. Occasionally, neoplastic cells have karyomegaly, are multinucleated, or contain bizarre mitotic figures. Multifocally, throughout the superficial dermis and subcutis there are neoplastic emboli in the lumens of lymphatic vessels. Throughout the mass are small areas of hemorrhage and necrosis. The overlying epidermis is ulcerated and covered by a serocellular crust. Neoplastic cells abut and continue through the medial and caudal surgical margins.
Histopathologic Diagnosis Haired skin, mass left caudal mammary chain: Mammary gland anaplastic carcinoma – grade III (high grade) - incompletely excised - with vascular invasion.
Comments
The left caudal mammary chain mass is consistent with a grade III (high grade) anaplastic mammary gland carcinoma. Neoplastic cells abut and continue through the medial and caudal surgical margins, and surgical removal of this mass is considered incomplete. Many dermal and subcutaneous lymphatic vessels also contained neoplastic emboli, and there is concern for local or distant metastasis of this neoplasm. Full clinical staging of this dog is recommended. Mammary tumors occur commonly in female dogs, particularly in those that are intact or were spayed at an older age, and ~50% are malignant. In intact animals, tumor growth can be hormonally influenced. Mammary gland carcinomas can metastasize, most often to the local lymph nodes followed by distant sites such as the lungs and other viscera. This carcinoma is classified as grade III (high grade) according to the most recently proposed grading system. Grade III mammary gland carcinomas have the highest rates of metastasis, recurrence, and cancer-related death. The histologic pattern of this carcinoma is consistent with an anaplastic carcinoma subtype. Anaplastic carcinomas are the most malignant subtype of mammary gland carcinomas and all are classified as grade III. They have very high rates of metastasis and a reduced median survival time (~3 months). This patient should be examined for evidence of regional and distant metastasis.
My Questions for this community:
1) Based on the grade and type of cancer, what are the chances that an oncologist can help prolong things for a reasonable amount of time? I don't want to put my dog through chemo or procedures/etc if it will only add weeks or months, on the other hand, if it could add years of high quality of life than of course that could be the right choice for her. I want her final chapter to be comfortable, joyful, and peaceful. I do not want to put her through unnecessary stress just for my own sake of having more time. Her best interest is my only basis for decision making.
2) Given the odor but otherwise lack of infection symptoms, how likely is it that the cancer has weakened her immune system so much that she won't recover from the infection?

2024.05.14 13:32 dry_mvrtini need help in HEC HMS
I am a student, and i am asked to do a flood hydrological modele in HEC Hms. i have a watershed with 80 subbasin and i have to model floods for each subbasin. here is how i proceeded: -In HEC HMS, i subdivised my wateshed into numerous subbasins, 85 to be exact. -i have the rainfall depth data for one station, i used thiessen polygon to determine which subbasins are in the area of influence of that station that is subbasin 2 -In Excel, i have calculated IDF curves, then i chose a particular event in my station, then calculated the hyetograph using the alternative block method using Montana coefficients that correspond to the return period of the event. -In HEC-HMS, I configured my basin model : Loss method: scs curve number, Transform method : scs unit hydrograph. the i entered the lag time and cn for all subbasins. -I then created the meteorologic model and set precipitation to specified hyetograph, included subbasins. -Entered the alternative block method values in gage 1 and connected it to subbasin 2. i entered discharge gage that is the observed flow in the station and connected it to subbasin 2. -created control specification and the i ran the model.
the two hydrographs (observed and simulated) are way off, the dont even have the same allure and the RMSE=1,6 and Nash<0.7. I have tried to change the CN manually (instead of CN II I entered CN III), but still it doesn't change much. what do you think i should do?

2024.05.13 21:44 Far_Audience_1236 Ref error when Get Pivot function is edited
Hello
I have this formula
=GETPIVOTDATA("Seating Capacity",'Seat Summary'!$C$2,"Space Category","Occupant/Tenant Area","Room Type","Individual Workspace","Open-Closed","Open","Dedicated-Shared","Dedicated")
I changed the word within the formula from "Workspace Category" to "Space category", I also made the change in the header that the worksheet resides in, however, this little change causes the entire equation to generate a REF error.
Unfortunately, I cannot share more of the file. My question is outside of using find and replace to change the words from "Workspace Category" to "Space category" is there anything else i have to do? The equation works using the word "Workspace Category" but not when i use "Space category".

I'll probably add a bit more shapes like adding some spotlights to stay atleast a bit faithful to the setting in the near end of episode 25. I used canva for adding the shapes and all. 2024.05.13 11:08 adulting4kids Dead Sea Scrolls Study Guide -Unedited
The War Scroll, also known as the "War of the Sons of Light Against the Sons of Darkness," is a unique text within the Dead Sea Scrolls that portrays an apocalyptic battle between the forces of good (Sons of Light) and evil (Sons of Darkness). This scroll provides insight into both historical and symbolic elements.
Historical Accuracy: The War Scroll, while containing detailed military tactics and an epic narrative of the ultimate confrontation, doesn't explicitly reference any specific historical event or timeframe. Some scholars believe it could be a product of the community's anticipation of a future messianic conflict or a reflection of their own community's struggles against opposing forces during their time. Interpreting the historical accuracy of the scroll often involves exploring the context of the Qumran community and the turbulent times in which they lived.
Symbolism and Esoteric Wisdom: The War Scroll goes beyond a mere description of a physical battle. It portrays a cosmic conflict between the forces of light and darkness, reflecting not just a literal warfare but also a symbolic and spiritual struggle. The text emphasizes righteousness, divine intervention, and the victory of good over evil.
Within the study guide, activities and exercises could involve dissecting the symbolic elements present in the War Scroll, exploring the deeper meanings behind the battle tactics and the metaphysical implications of the conflict. Understanding the symbolism could involve group discussions, comparative analysis with other ancient texts with similar themes, and exploring the impact of this symbolic representation on the community's beliefs and practices.
Here are a few activities and exercises to explore the symbolism and historical context of the War Scroll from the Dead Sea Scrolls:
- Symbolism Analysis:
Provide excerpts from the War Scroll and encourage participants to identify and discuss the symbolic meanings behind elements like the "Sons of Light" and the "Sons of Darkness," various weapons, and the strategies outlined for battle. Group discussions or written reflections can help participants explore the deeper layers of meaning.
- Comparative Analysis:
Compare the War Scroll's themes with similar apocalyptic or eschatological texts from different cultures or religions, such as apocalyptic passages in the Book of Revelation in the Christian Bible or apocalyptic texts from other ancient traditions. Create worksheets or discussion prompts to highlight similarities and differences in themes, symbols, and beliefs about cosmic battles.
- Historical Context Exploration:
Present historical information about the era when the Dead Sea Scrolls were written. Discuss the political, social, and religious climate of that time, including the turmoil in the region, to understand how these factors might have influenced the composition of the War Scroll. Encourage participants to consider the possible motivations behind the text's creation.
- Creative Interpretation:
Encourage creative expression by asking participants to create artwork, poems, or short stories inspired by the themes and imagery found in the War Scroll. This exercise allows individuals to engage more deeply with the symbolic elements and interpret them in their own unique ways.
- Role-playing or Debates:
Organize a role-playing activity where participants take on the roles of "Sons of Light" and "Sons of Darkness," debating their ideologies, motivations, and strategies for the ultimate battle. This exercise helps in understanding differing perspectives and interpreting the conflicts presented in the scroll.
Interpretative variations regarding the river's crossing in different ancient texts reflect the unique religious, philosophical, and cultural perspectives embedded within these narratives. These differences in interpretation offer insights into diverse worldviews and varying theological frameworks present in ancient texts:
- Mesopotamian Context:
- In Mesopotamian mythology and literature, the Euphrates River often held symbolic significance as a boundary between the known civilized world and the wild, unknown realms. The crossing of the Euphrates could symbolize journeys into unexplored territories or transitions between order and chaos. This perspective reflects a worldview rooted in the physical and geographical division of lands.
- Biblical Context:
- In biblical texts, such as those in the Book of Revelation or Old Testament prophecies, the crossing of the Euphrates carries eschatological significance. It may represent a divine intervention or a decisive moment in God's plan, marking the commencement of apocalyptic events. This interpretation aligns with the biblical narrative of divine judgment and the unfolding of God's ultimate purpose in history.
- Gnostic or Apocryphal Context:
- Gnostic or apocryphal texts often interpret the river's crossing as a symbolic liberation or awakening. It might signify the release of spiritual forces or the ascent to higher consciousness, reflecting a philosophical perspective emphasizing spiritual enlightenment and liberation from material constraints.
- Greco-Roman Interpretation:
- In Greco-Roman literature, crossings of rivers were often associated with mythological journeys or transitions between realms. The crossing of the Euphrates might symbolize a transition from mundane existence to a realm of mystery or spiritual significance, reflecting a cultural perspective rooted in mythology and cosmology.
These varied interpretations highlight the richness and diversity of religious, philosophical, and cultural frameworks present in ancient texts. The river's crossing serves as a flexible symbol that adapts to different narratives, conveying themes of transition, judgment, liberation, or cosmic transformation based on the unique perspectives of each tradition.
Exploring these interpretative variations allows participants to appreciate the complexity of symbolism within ancient texts and provides insights into how different cultures and belief systems interpreted common motifs like the river Euphrates. It showcases the intricate interplay between religious, philosophical, and cultural elements shaping the symbolism and theological implications embedded in these narratives.
The river Euphrates, a prominent geographic feature in ancient texts, embodies universal themes that transcend specific cultural contexts. Identifying these universal themes helps reveal shared human concepts of transition, boundaries, and transformative events across diverse ancient traditions:
- Threshold and Transition:
- The Euphrates often symbolizes a boundary between known and unknown territories. Its crossing represents a transition from one state to another, signifying a pivotal moment of change or passage. This theme of crossing a threshold echoes the human experience of transitions in life, moving from familiar to unfamiliar realms.
- Boundary and Separation:
- As a geographical boundary, the Euphrates signifies separation between distinct territories or civilizations. This concept of demarcation resonates with universal human experiences of setting boundaries, delineating spaces, or marking divisions between different aspects of life.
- Transformative Events:
- Crossing the Euphrates is often associated with cosmic or transformative events in ancient texts. This universal theme reflects the human fascination with the concept of epochal change, cosmic upheavals, or moments of divine intervention that reshape the course of history.
- Symbol of Power and Control:
- The river might represent a symbol of power, control, or geopolitical significance. Crossing it could signify shifts in dominance, challenges to established authority, or the assertion of influence. This theme resonates with human narratives of power struggles and shifts in societal dynamics.
- Metaphor for Spiritual Journeys:
- Across cultures, rivers are often used metaphorically to represent spiritual journeys or quests. The crossing of the Euphrates might symbolize the pursuit of enlightenment, the passage to higher realms of understanding, or the quest for spiritual transformation.
These universal themes associated with the river Euphrates highlight fundamental aspects of the human experience—transitions, boundaries, transformative events, power dynamics, and spiritual journeys. The river's symbolism in ancient texts speaks to shared human aspirations, struggles, and beliefs that transcend cultural boundaries and resonate across different epochs and civilizations.
By identifying and discussing these universal themes, participants gain a deeper appreciation for the profound symbolism embedded in ancient texts and recognize the timeless relevance of concepts such as transition, boundaries, and transformative events in shaping human narratives and aspirations.
- Historical Context:
- What historical events or societal conditions might have influenced the composition of the War Scroll?
- How does the historical context of the Dead Sea Scrolls' discovery contribute to our understanding of this text's significance?
- Symbolism and Esoteric Wisdom:
- How does the War Scroll use symbolism to convey spiritual or cosmic themes?

The composition of the War Scroll, along with other Dead Sea Scrolls, was likely influenced by several historical events and societal conditions prevalent during the time of its writing, which is estimated to be between the 2nd century BCE and the 1st century CE:
- Hellenistic Rule and Cultural Influence:
- The region where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found was under Hellenistic influence due to the conquests of Alexander the Great and the subsequent control by the Seleucid Empire. This era saw a clash between Hellenistic culture and Jewish traditions, leading to cultural tensions and a desire to preserve religious and cultural heritage.
- Political Turmoil and Resistance Movements:
- The Jewish people experienced political unrest, particularly during the Maccabean Revolt against Seleucid rule. This period was characterized by resistance movements, attempts to preserve Jewish identity, and fervent anticipation of a messianic figure to deliver them from foreign oppression.
- Religious Sects and Spiritual Expectations:
- Various religious sects existed within Judaism, each with its own interpretations and expectations of messianic redemption, purity laws, and theological doctrines. The community associated with the Dead Sea Scrolls, often believed to be the Essenes, likely had distinctive theological beliefs and a strong apocalyptic worldview.
- Anticipation of Cosmic Redemption:
- There was a widespread belief in the imminent arrival of a messianic figure or a divine intervention that would bring about cosmic redemption, ushering in an era of righteousness and divine rule. This anticipation of apocalyptic events and a cosmic battle between forces of light and darkness is reflected in the War Scroll's themes.
Regarding the historical context of the Dead Sea Scrolls' discovery, its significance lies in multiple facets:
- Preservation of Ancient Texts:
- The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, including the War Scroll, provided an invaluable collection of ancient manuscripts that significantly expanded our understanding of ancient Jewish texts, religious beliefs, and the diversity of Jewish thought during the Second Temple period.
- Insights into Jewish Sectarianism:
- The scrolls shed light on the diversity of beliefs and practices among Jewish sects during that time. Understanding the beliefs and expectations of the community associated with the Dead Sea Scrolls helps contextualize the theological and apocalyptic themes present in the War Scroll.
- Confirmation of Scriptural Accuracy:
- The Dead Sea Scrolls' discovery contributed to confirming the accuracy and preservation of certain biblical texts, highlighting the continuity of textual transmission across centuries and supporting the authenticity of biblical manuscripts.
- Impact on Biblical Studies and Scholarship:
- The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls revolutionized biblical studies, providing scholars with invaluable primary sources for studying ancient Judaism, the development of biblical texts, and the context in which these texts were composed.
The historical context of political upheaval, religious expectations, and the preservation of texts within the Dead Sea Scrolls contributes significantly to understanding the milieu in which the War Scroll was written. It provides a backdrop against which the themes of cosmic conflict, eschatological anticipation, and religious fervor within the War Scroll can be comprehended.

2024.05.12 19:30 DevBlogWoWs Two More D-Day Operations, Clan Battles, New Content and More - Closed Test 13.5
| Operations & Commanders & Patches, oh my! That's right, it's time to discuss some of the incoming content for Update 13.5. Strap in and read along about the continuation of our D-Day Operations as well as some other goodies being added into the game. D-DAY OPERATIONS In our 80th Anniversary of D-Day DevBlog we outlined a total of three operations that were joining the game in acknowledgment of one of the most notable amphibious operations in military history. Two of those Operations are coming in Update 13.5, so read below as we provide some supplemental details on these exciting additions. Atlantic Wall Defense As the name of the Operation suggests, it's time to play a little defense. You will take control of Tier V-VII German Destroyers in an effort to stop or delay the Allied invasion force from destroying their coastal batteries. Don't own Tier V-VII German Destroyers? No worries! For those that don't own suitable ships, rental vessels will be provided. In fact, even if you DO own ships that are usable in this Operation, you'll still have access to these rentals, and for good reason: these rental ships will come in unique configurations. Some examples of these alterations include the addition of the Exhaust Smoke consumable and the Hydroacoustic Search consumable with an increased radius of ship and torpedo detection detection. The Allied fleet was spotted by German spy balloons and planes and will be composed of multiple waves, with the last wave comprised of powerful Battleships determined to destroy the coastal fortifications. German High Command has also warned you about at least one Aircraft Carrier present. Additionally, player-controlled destroyers will be outfitted with the Drop Mine Field consumable, which is the very same one used during the Pinata Hunt event. Once the Operation begins, you will have a couple of minutes to lay down as many minefields as you can. Once the Allied attack begins, Germain air forces will be pinned down by the British Cruiser Dido. As a result, the Drop Mine Field consumable will be blocked until the Dido is destroyed. Your main goal will be to deploy minefields to protect your forces and coastal artillery, with the bonus goals being to destroy the Allied Destroyers, destroy the Aircraft Carrier, defend as many coastal guns as possible, and to survive until reinforcements arrive. But that's not all! There will be 1 bonus objective that will be assigned randomly - either destroy enemy ships OR destroy enemy planes! Finally, if you lose a player-controlled ally, all is not lost! Your ship will receive an extra buff each time you lose an ally, similarly to the last year's The Last Voyage of Transylvania Operation. However, this time you'll also get a passive health regeneration that will activate on the remaining ships to continue giving you and your companions a fighting chance! Attack on Omaha Beach In the last two weeks of Update 13.5, the Attack on Omaha Beach Operation will become active! Taking place on the same map and just mere minutes after the Atlantic Wall Defense Operation, you will play with Tiers V-VII ships from the U.S., U.K., Commonwealth, France, Netherlands and some ships from the European Navies. Several damaged Allied ships are in the area, unable to attack or move but protected by a smoke screen. However, that smoke is not going to last forever. Once the smoke dissipates, the German forces will persistently attack the disabled ships. It is your mission to reach these ships and rescue their crews by staying in the vicinity. It won't be as easy as it sounds, as swarms of German Schnellboots are rushing in to attack, supplemented by minefields as well as a tough final stand-off with the surviving German Destroyers still near the shore from the previous Operation! As mentioned, the main goal of this scenario is to rescue the crews of damaged vessels. Additional tasks are to destroy all of the Schnellboots, escort the attacking force once it arrives and starts heading toward the beach, destroy all the shore guns, defeat the remaining Destroyers, and have half of your team still standing at the end of it all! Classified Documents and Operation Rewards As with the first D-Day Operation, the two above Scenarios will include the use of Classified Documents! To recap, you can acquire these Classified Documents by unlocking the Intelligence Folders from the reward track in the Operation rewards. With the completion of each folder, you will be rewarded with a random Classified Document, with each document having three levels - Classified, Secret or Top Secret. These documents will give you different modifiers/buffs against certain enemy types with increasing bonuses depending on the level of document you have (Classified is the base level, and Top Secret is the highest level). Feel free to check out our 80th Anniversary of D-Day DevBlog for more information on Classified Documents and infographics of the rewards. In addition to Intelligence Folders, the second and third reward tracks will open along with the start of these operations! Some of the more notable rewards in the tracks will be: - The Invasion Stripes permanent camouflage for the VIII US Cruiser Baltimore
- The Force of Liberation permanent camouflage for the VII UK Destroyer Jervis
- Commander William Tennant
- The Sword of Freedom patch
- The Ruse of War patch
- D-Day Containers (upon completion of extra levels)

- No more than two battleships per team.
- There are no restrictions on cruisers or destroyers.
