My son is 6 months old. So definitely old enough to safely meet people. But man, I'm just not ready to share my baby like that. I'm only just starting to feel okay with sharing him with people we "have to" share him with. (I've always forced myself, but man it HURT for a while.) We weren't supposed to be able to get pregnant or stay pregnant so he's very much a miracle baby. Then I had a really traumatic birth experience. I think both those things are contributing to me being a bit more overprotective than I need to be.
My closest friends have met him, but acquaintances are starting to ask to meet him. I have one friend, J, that is being particularly pushy. J considers me like a sister to her, but I've only considered her a friend. I see her maybe once a year at most and we'll have one or two conversations in FB comments a month. But we don't talk-talk. I do know she's autistic which is probably why she her social skills are lacking and she's not getting hints or realizing that is not a sister-like-friendship. (I don't care. I suspect I may be too. My cousin, who I raised, is also autistic. But this is relevant.) I like J a lot. She's very sweet and we always have a good time together. We just don't have much in common and just never clicked on that level. I have absolutely nothing against her. So I don't want to be rude or hurt her feelings.
She keeps messaging me asking if I'm free on X date or Y date and letting me know her schedule because she "wants to meet her nephew". I'm running out of excuses. She wants to meet him and says her boyfriend does too. I've never met her boyfriend. I'm definitely not okay with my baby meeting a stranger yet. I'll be honest, something about him gives me the creeps. (From what I've seen on social media.)
I feel like I'll break her heart setting boundaries. I mean neurotypical people get pissy when you tell them they can't hold or kiss your baby. I've had grown women CRY because I said no. I think it'll especially cut deep because she calls him her nephew. She announced my pregnancy on her own FB literally 14 seconds after I made our announcement on my own page. She thinks this child belongs to her and I think setting rules will come off as so mean. Like she'll see it as her sister not allowing her to bond with her nephew. I can't think of a way to word this without sounding absolutely horrible. I really don't want to upset her. But I'm not ready to "play hot potato" with my baby. Ya know?

2024.05.15 23:28 KJ_Tailor Jagged Edge Hideaway -My party chose the hard (easy?) path

I ran the jagged edge hideaway for my group yesterday. 4 experienced players and a newbie, hence the low level adventure.
So the jagged edge hideaway works as follows: 6 a little bit hidden entrances, 1 very obvious one that is trapped, and a gapping hole in the ground that is covered on thick webs, which is the entrance shaft to the Warspider's lair.
One would hope the party would go into the trapped entrance, but most likely would be a regular entrance which then unfolds the whole lair to them, right?
Not so my party, they chose the spider shaft. Of course they didn't even try to not touch the webs, alerting the HUGE spider in its lair, giving it time to hide to ambush them... Except one of the dark vision characters has a really high passive perception and spotted it right away. Well combat ensues, and despite a HUGE HP pool the spider is not much of an opponent given it doesn't have multiattack and the suggested behaviour of trample charging across them at low health to flee, also only works on its turn - could have made that a reaction - but whatever..
Anyways, party is moving on, spots the secret entrance to the prison and storage part of the lair, frees the imprisoned goblin there, and then proceeds to the secret passage to the throne room.
As of writing this, the party is ready to ambush the unexpecting Queen Bargnot, having circumvented the other encounters in the lair... I know this is an intentional option, but still it's ridiculous that my patyy just stumbled across it like that, hahaha.

I got back into OSRS a couple years ago for some nostalgia and to try out a bunch of quests/content I could never finish as a kid. It's been a lot of fun playing through stuff I thought was impossible and having random flashbacks strolling through old areas. But there is one area that brings back the most vivid memory every time I'm there of being absolutely lost, confused, and devastated as a 10 or 11 year old kid.
Circa 2004/2005 I was sitting at my parents Dell while they watched a movie on the couch. I had finally convinced them to pay for membership a few months prior after probably a year of free-to-play while all my friends fished in Catherby. I'd gotten through a moderate amount of quests, nothing much crazier than Dragon Slayer, but had gotten some help along the way. Now with my full rune set up and a few gp in my pocket I felt ready to go explore and take on new quests alone.
Karamja seemed really cool and I'd heard my friends talk about this Shilo Village place but I needed to knock Jungle Potion out first. No problem, it seemed pretty straightforward. Nothing I couldn't handle. So I geared up and off I went. It didn't take long wandering through the jungle, opening and closing a map in a separate window on dial-up internet, for something to attack me and my character to start taking scary green damage. I was aware of what poison damage was, and that you could cure it, but without the GE or any clue how herblore worked it wasn't exactly something I kept on hand.
Being barely double digits old I took a deep breath and did the most sensible thing I could think of, which was panic immediately. I didn't want any other players to see I was poisoned and lost, so even if I did know how to get back to a bank at the time I was worried I'd die just before banking in a populated area. I had a ROUGH idea of how death mechanics worked to put it mildly. Being that I was on dial-up, instead of logging off TO call a friend to save me I was convinced I COULDN'T call a friend BECAUSE I'd have to log off. I could barely load any of the few websites that might offer some help as well. So instead I ran around the island, taking more random damage, searching for a vendor or bank, and must have ran past the one man who would have sold me anti-poison 10 times until I finally accepted my fate and hid in a remote corner on the beach. Looking out over the water, I sadly devoured whole lobsters until finally my food, and HP, ran out. I spawned in Lumbridge, stared at my screen for about five minutes, and logged off. I have no clue why I didn't try to get back to where I died, or if in my panic and despair I had lost track of where it even was I had finally died.
I walked over and stood by the couch where my parents were sitting and I must have looked like an investment banker in 2008 because despite disliking RS quite a bit they asked me what happened. I calmly informed them that 'I had lost everything.'
Now whenever I am in Karamja that memory comes back to me and I can't help but laugh. How I managed to make the most irrationally wrong decision at every single turn is hilarious to look back on. I still suck at this game, but it helps to have a functioning brain.

This might be a long read so brace yourself ...
When I'm asking if I'm being in the wrong here I only mean in terms of accountability and in regards to the situation and not so much about the wrong or right itself and would like some insight/advice basically..
TLDR:

Mixed feelings about a girl I just been dating for a few weeks or so? We only met around 2 times in person since she's somewhat busy. I feel like I'm putting more effort and energy than receiving it but unsure if it's just because the other person prefer taking things slow but I can't tell because whenever I ask her if she's interested, she's always kinda deflecting the subject. She's going to be away for the next 4 months so I won't be able to talk to her and our last convo this morning was kinda awkward ..

Relationships Background: I met my first ex a few months ago and she gave me a speedrun of everything most couple would usually do after a few months and since I didn't know any better I just went with it since she was my first everything. It ended with her initiating the breakup after less than a month after 2 weeks of long distance after she came to visit me. She gave me the "it's not you, it's me" and "you are the first one to treat me right" (she had multiple partners). She was also a bit insecure and sensitive and needed constant reassurance.
In the case of [HER], all her exes are by products of one night stands which ended up into relationship because they all asked her for one to her surprised and she just agreed with them. She described as liking them but not really ever falling in love with them so I guess I'm the first one to be fall into that category. In [HER] case, she is highly confident about herself and in what she accomplish (makes a lot more money than the average person). She gets self gratification from making money even though she can just live off her parents wealth but she finds having nothing to do boring so she became independent.
With that in mind, here's how this story starts.
On April 3rd, I reinstall Hinge because I want to have some new connection after moving on from my ex. It's not until April 23rd when I match with [HER]. At first I was surprised since I didn't expect it so I express my surprised via text in which she later explained her side via a voice note saying that she thought I looked like one of her students so she was afraid someone would recognize her which is her fear so she never matched with me. (I sent her a total of around 4 likes because I used to delete my account and make a new one again and her acc would always show and she kinda recognize from that as well.)
After that, we just exchange a lot of voice notes talking to each other about stuff and things which later I ask if its okay for me to ask her to go out on a date at this point. She then explains she has some requirements before actually going on a date with someone, she prefers getting someone a little bit more and seeing if we're compatible before meeting since she finds it weird how most people would rush which I agreed.
From there, we talk a bit more via voice note where she asks me what's my definition of love and my concept of relationships which she said almost is the same as hers. She explained for her to fall in love for someone it would at least take her 5 years or so and that's after they're able to past the 4 stages of love described in her own way; honeymoon phase, difference, compromise and initial stage of love.
The next day we just talk some more via text and and voice notes till 2 AM and what not talking about random things and life. At this point, I thought we had some good chemistry or so. We later talk about our exes and stuff.
A few days later I then try and ask again for a date since it felt like we had established some sort of rapport and knew a bit more of each other. She then tells me more about her schedule and how busy she'll be and how she'll be traveling soon in the next 2 weeks for her school stuff. At some point she said she had a symposium she was organizing at the university and I asked if it would be weird If I came to see her.
She said she didn't mind but wouldn't have time to cater me since it would be busy. Please also note that up until this point, I didn't know her real name since in Hinge she's using some random name and I didn't really ask her about it since I guess she didn't want to but I figure me showing up to that event, I would at least find what's her name which I did.
Anyways day comes and I show up to the event, it's is a medium size classroom. I didn't recognize her at first since she had a different haircut. I didn't wanna intrude or anything so I just sat there listening to the event till the end. I didn't really get the chance to talk to her or anything by the end since they had an after party and whatnot so I decided to head home instead feeling somewhat weird? So rather than just heading straight home I just sat there on the subway train listening to music instead. I texted her saying I wished we could have spent a bit of time together but you looked so busy and what not.
After a few minutes later I decide to head out for a walk because I was just feeling weird, I then see a text from her inviting me to help with returning books to the library if I want to which I agreed. To my surprised she showed up with two luggages .. which we just walked around till we reach the library. From there, I got to finally meet her in person and talk to her for a bit. I thought we had a good time, by the end I walked her home and that was mostly. We just kinda waved to her each and say goodbye to each other. I was kinda thirsty that night so I asked her for water but she gave me some korean brand banana juice instead. I then later send her a text thanking her for inviting me to help her which she doesn't reply to.
She's usually only replies if I initiate the conversation first which then let me gaslight myself into thinking it's because she's probably busy .. anyways we text each other for a bit that night because I asked for her number later instead of using Hinge. I then get somewhat down bad and ask if I can see her again tomorrow in which she replies "what's the benefit of seeing you again tomorrow?" which I thought was funny but she was serious. She had to write her REB so I guess she didn't really have time.
It's then the weekend and on the morning of Saturday she invites me to join her to the library and then we can eat at some place later if I want to where she'll be busy working on some stuff. She emphasize that she'll be annoyed if she is disturbed while trying to get work done which I didn't mind since my work is online and I only need a laptop to work.
I showed up at the library a bit early and letting her know, she then tells me she's going to get some coffee nearby first and then meet me so I wait for her at the library. Around 30 min goes by and I start getting a bit worried because she still hasn't showed up and hasn't given me any updates at which point I text her if anything is alright or if she's safe and what not. I get no answers for a bit then later she texts me she's inside where I was on my way to the coffee so I go back inside and then we just sit near each other and focus on our work. I give her the same korean banana juice which I found later at some korean market I went by to buy before meeting her. A few hours goes by we then go to a japanese place by walking there so I get to speak with her for a bit which was nice. I then pay for the bill then walk her home and then again we just wave to each other and say goodbye.
At this point, there has been no physical affection or the sort. Her body language isn't really telling me she's comfortable so I'm not really going for it even though I'm starving for it. I figure she prefers taking things slow so I'll go at her pace. Again, I text her later thanking her for inviting me and spending some time together which I appreciate. She doesn't really reply and giving me back the same energy.
So constantly, I'm always wondering if she's interested in me or enjoy spending time with me. When I ask her about it, it most of the time gets deflected or maybe it's a language barrier and I don't always get what she means when she sends some of her texts if I'm being honest but for some reason I find it cute. it's not like she's playing hard to get but it's confusing to say the least.
Anyways, because of that, I became hesitant to make plans to see her again since she doesn't really people calling her on the phone either unless absolutely necessary she explained to which I joked saying if I'm about to die then I'll call you.
After that second "date". i just try to limit my interaction to texting her a few text daily or so because I just wanted to have some kind of interaction with her. At this point I realized this may or may not be a one-side interest but then I gaslight myself thinking, she's a busy person and still makes some time for me so surely she's interested in some way?.
After a week or so of daily interaction I decide to somewhat stop contact because I also wanted to focus on my stuff and perhaps explore my other dating options if any .. a week goes by and I never hear from her again until one day she just sends me a text that just finished working at some factory as an interpreter and that her phone will be temporarily be disabled because she'll be traveling.
I then expressed my surprised because I figured she had forgotten about me and whatnot. We then exchange a few text here and there, we both caught a cold and talked about how shitty the weather is here and stuff. Again, I'm always the one having to initiate or there won't be any contact .. like at all. So it's hard for me to know if the person is interested even when being asked so I'm left with just overthinking.
Anyways, I ask her more about what time she's leaving and what time and if she wants to spends the last 2 days eating out and spending time together and stuff.
She said she went to some resto the day before but it was busy and had no table because of mother's day. At this point, I looked up the resto because I wanted to make some reservation so we could go there but I stopped myself because I had no idea what kind of situationship this was and if I was putting more effort and not receiving any. So I ended up sleeping instead.
The next day in the morning she texts me she went back to that resto but found out it's only open on certain days for brunch so she was sad and we exchanged a few random texts from that.
then the next day, this is our last conversation this morning before she's away for the next 4 months ..

Looking to get into Lure fishing? We've got you covered!
Getting into a hobby is scary, and not always cheap. People throw information at you and it becomes overwhelming. I'll try and keep this as straightforward as possible. Though like all hobbies people have their preferences when it comes to brands/models, and will 100% have a differing opinion on what I've put below. I'll try to keep the cost down, and you also may decide you prefer to go one way or another and save money else where.

Target Audience:-

First and foremost, this post is aimed at people who want to just dip their toe into the lure fishing world, who want to keep it light, and want to catch a range of species and do not really care about catching a 30lb+ Pike.

Rod :-

Type
If just starting out stick with a spinning rod, particularly if you've never even touched a bait caster before. You want to focus on the lure fishing experience, rather than driving an hour to bomb a lure out with a bait caster to have the worst birds nest/backlash ever and have to call it a day!
Length
Rods obviously can be very cheap to incredibly expensive. You obviously get what you pay for. However I will always recommend a rod around 6ft-6ft 5 range. This will cover you for canals, small brooks, rivers of almost all sizes. However may leave you wanting a bit more if fishing large lakes/reservoirs from the banks.
Casting weight This is the weight of the lure that the rod is capable of throwing at maximum efficiency. You can go a bit outside of this range but expect to lose accuracy, casting distance etc. A rod that can cast 1-10g is a good range. 3-18g spinning rods will allow for more variety if you want to try some bigger lures for Pike. Though I'm sure plenty of people here will be able to say how they've caught double figure pike on small 7cm softbait lures.
Action vs Power This topic gets confused a lot. People will interchangeably use the terms or just may not understand it at all.
Action refers to where on the rod the rod starts to bend when pressure is applied. For light lures/jig heads, you typically want an Extra Fast - Fast action rod. Which is what I'll be recommending for someone starting out. These type of rods are usually more sensitive. See image below. Power is usually involved when discussing the rod's capability to cast heavier lures. Heavy rods throw heavy lures essentially. In terms of power I'd recommend a light or a medium-light rod.

Reel

Reels there is not much to say about them, specially for a beginner, go as light as you can. A reel size of a 1000 to 2500 will be absolutely fine. If you find yourself at a lake then maybe go on the upper end of the reel size, but you won't need to go above 2500 at all.

Line: Main Line

Braid vs Mono vs Fluorocarbon.
All I will say is there is a reason why the best anglers have all moved to braid. It simply offers more sensitivity than its counterparts. I would recommend going for something like Sufix/Daiwa J Braid/Berkley Sick braid. I would actually recommend not going too cheap here, and will recommend the X8 versions over the lesser X4 versions. Thom Hunt does a good video on Braid and all the numbers on the packaging, but ultimately why would you skimp on the thing that tells you when you have a bite.

tldr get braid, get X8 (or 8 strand) and just focus on the breaking strain. Around 12lb will do as a main line.

Line: Leaders

This is a hot topic and often controversial. Typically people say "use wire trace if there is pike in the area". I don't know about you guys, but no one can guarantee there is no pike as far as I am aware. Unless maybe fishing a commercial.
From what I've experienced watching YouTube, the general consensus seems to be is: if using treble hooks use a wire trace. Single hooks that have had their barbs crushed should in theory be easy for any fish to throw the hook if for whatever reason you get bitten off. I'll let you decide what you should use where and when.
I personally crush all the barbs on my hooks, I think fishing with barbs is overkill.
Get an 8lb fluorocarbon line for a leader, make it about 2ft in length or so, I'd recommend using an FG knot to tie it to your braid.
If using a wire trace, I'd recommend AFW wire. You can buy it on amazon/predator tackle. You can tie the wire trace directly to your braid or onto your fluoro leader if you wish.
My setup is typically: Braid with an FG knot to a fluoro leader, then I'll use an improved clinch knot to either tie to my hook or I'll use an improved clinch knot to then tie to the wire trace that has loop knot in the end. I really avoid using swivels where I can, they can impact the movement of the lure, particularly something like a jerkbait.

Tackle

Tackle: Buy some standard jig heads, 2-5g with varying hook sizes.
Buy some EWG hooks with some cheb weights, this will allow you to fish weedless. You will probably want 2/0 at a maximum, 3/0 or 4/0 can be used but might be a bit too big/heavy gauge wire.

I've found that almost EVERY time I get a user who works for a church, they are incredibly rude, idiotic people who treat customer service like absolute trash. They are horrible. The worst insults I've gotten at this job have been from people who work at churches or realtors. Anyway, here's the transcript of our conversation today.

Iā€™m (29f) really looking for some help here. Iā€™m not sure how people are supposed to live making under $150k. This is my first job after finishing my masters (in counseling) and I was really excited at first to be making 75k because it sounds like a lot, but itā€™s really not.
My gross pay is $6250 per month, but after taxes I only net $4375 per month.
My rent is $2250 (living alone now and having roommates was destroying my peace of mind and isnā€™t something Iā€™m willing to return to), 332 average for utilities, 200 for my phone bills (I absolutely have to have both a personal phone and a business phone for clients).
Iā€™m about to get kicked off my free health insurance for making too much money now and since Iā€™m going to need a plan with mental health care thatā€™ll surely be 400+ per month.
My car insurance is 300 a month, and I spend about 130 per month on gasā€”the car itself is paid off though.
My student loans from grad school are supposed to be 700 something per month but Iā€™m going to have to just defer them in the hopes that I make more money one day; thereā€™s no way I can afford that.
I donā€™t go out to eat basically ever but I do buy healthy groceries that cost about 200 a week. Anything less and it hasnā€™t actually lasted me a week or it hasnā€™t been truly healthy (variety of fruits, vegetables, and lean meats, etc).
I only go out socially (like to a bar or something) twice a month maximum.
After all of these expenses, which seem totally normal and reasonable, I feel like I have no or almost no discretionary income for clothes, travel, etc, let alone savings. I spend like all my money every month and itā€™s scary. Iā€™m not really sure how other people get by and I feel clueless. It seems like Iā€™m making more than everyone I know, yet somehow they go out twice a week, go out to eat regularly, and travel twice a year comfortably. I donā€™t even have any kids and I feel like Iā€™m living paycheck to paycheck on 75k. I want to ask for help but not even sure what to ask. Maybe budgeting tips, passive income tips, etc? I just need help. I feel like I picked the wrong career path for making enough money to live well but going back to school would just cost even more. Maybe I should find a husband to split expenses with but Iā€™ve been happier than ever single.

My entire life I have been my motherā€™s disappointment. Nothing I have ever done was good enough for her. lol my life I have chanced her approval and for her to say good job baby or something along those lines. But by my sophomore year of high school I finally realized I would never get it so I quit trying. I finally realized I was the SEVERLY unwanted child. She treated my siblings so much better than me. The one sibling thatā€™s a year older than me got away with anything. But when I did it I would be hit in some manner or punished in some way. My father was always the parent that loved me unconditionally and without prejudice. No matter what. But my mother hated me. Hated who I was as a person. And for nearly 16 years I tried to force myself to be someone I wasnā€™t. For example I had to have basically waist length hair that had to be either straighted, curled or done in anyway like braids or other hair styles. And I always had to have make up on or I wasnā€™t allowed to leave the house with her. But my other sibling didnā€™t have to. And I had to be dressed to the nines. 
 And when I finally had enough I moved out of her house. Cut my hair into a ā€œmanā€™s hair cutā€. That pissed her off so badly. But I honestly did it because thatā€™s how I wanted my hair. Short. I HATED having long hair. And always having to do something with it. Never being able to just brush it and leave it be. And I have a skin condition that isnā€™t contagious or anything. But she absolutely hates it and tells me I look disgusting because all the damn medicine she made me take and rub on my skin wasnā€™t working like she wanted too. I mean what 16 year old girl wanted to smell like medicated head and shoulders. And I refused to take meds that would damage my kidneys(thereā€™s a family history of severe kidney problems in my birth line Iā€™m adopted) I didnā€™t wanna risk it. But that made her angry. And my father promised to get me my first tattoo. To keep my mother somewhat calm I chose to wait until I graduated to get it because I wanted it on my fourarm. Which she hit me over that even tho I was 18. And she couldnā€™t stand the fact my ā€œman hair cutā€ was now blue. And itā€™s been an unnatural color since. Being 8 years now. Iā€™m so fucking feed up. And her latest stunt was ruining my child party. Oh and thatā€™s another thing. I got pregnant at 19. But had my child at 20. Our birthdays are 6 months apart. Got pregnant in August turned 20 in October. She hates the fact I got pregnant and chose to keep my little bundle of chaos. But honestly out of only three things Iā€™ve done right in my life. He is number one. The second is my ā€œviscous pit bullsā€ (one is 8 years old and the other is 4 months old((she still doesnā€™t know about the 4 month old one tho)). And the third is my husband(not my childā€™s biological father) but I love him endlessly. I just wish my mother was more like my father. And would let me just be me. She canā€™t say oh itā€™s how I was raised. Thatā€™s bullshit my daddy was only 4 years younger than you he was able to love me for me. Why canā€™t she understand Iā€™m not gonna be a little marching soldier for her to parade around town. I wanna be myself. I wanna be me. Not just a different hair color version of herself. You can infinitely regenerate and save whatever you like. You can edit or delete without any issue.
The generation is through human driven algorithm, not AI.

You can use the app for your own record keeping as well. Generate a character and edit the sheet as you like. There is no cloud involved. It will save to your device, nowhere else.

Ok, i'm a little late to the party, but work and all. But I had to write this. The playoffs games have been nothing short of spectacular this year, but man, was the game 2 THE ABSOLUTE BEST GOAT GAME in years. It was so good, that I didn't even realise Brunson wasn't playing until the second half when he came in. The game was so fast paced, I was like daaaamn... I almost had a couple of basketball teardrops coming down my eyes, I couldn't believe how good this game was.
I've never been a Josh Hart fan, but these playoffs have changed my mind regarding him, my gaud! What a player, Heart out every play, no rests and crashes the boards like crazy. I knew this before, but these playoffs have just changed my mind about him totally, before this I had him the dork that stared at Harden for smacking himself in the face with the ball and then next week going at his own face. But bro, has been balling out!!!!! GIVE ME MORE!
And then Brunson comes in and just dominates like Son Goku against Freeza finding his inner super sayayin whilst being hurt and just takes over and come with the push the team needed, and being just Brunson, Mavs fans must just be hating themselves right now, but also be happy for the man for being so great. What a player, what finess, what drive. What is there not to love?
And finally Hartenstein is finally getting to shine and show what he is made of. Those of us who are apart of EG1000 Hartenstein know this already, but we happy he getting that shine bro! YES!!! Rebound machine and just living up the hype! G-leauge MVP IN DA HOUSE!!! BALL OUT!!!
Then there is pacers, fighting for every inch, not giving up anything, Miles turner balling out, and Tyrese Haliburton trying to his best to carry the team and be the leader that is needed, but it feels like he still got one more gear to go! LESSSS GOOOO Hali!!!!
And finally the one I'm personally most happy for is OBI TOPPIN! Knicks fans must be hating themselves even more for letting him go, but he was stuck behind Randle, rightfully so, but the man is living up to that 7 pick and then some. Bro is a baller, knocking down threes like possesed and saving pacers at every turn. I'm just so happy to be watching these series. It really got my B-ball juices flowing.
And the fans have been nothing short of amazing, cheering like crazy and pushing their respective teams!
Im loving every moment, but game two struck a cord in my heart just like those Warriors - Pelicans in 2016 when it was the fastest game I have had ever seen. (I think it was the 2016 that Pelicans tried to outpace the warriors, but ultimately failed, but man was those series something special to watch.
Either way, take a bow fans! You all have delivered and then some! I'm hyped!!!

I've been feeling a little bummed out lately. I always try and stay happy and see the best in things. But.. I've just been so alone. Most of my whole childhood and adult years have been spent feeling lonely. I grew up surrounded by cornfields which was peaceful but also has a lonely aspect to it. My family never really were close and never did anything as a family really. And part of it too is the fact that I never had any neighbors my age to interact with. But aside from that, my adult life has been very lonely. I'm just always by myself. I barely have any meaningful adult relationships or experiences, or even any friends.
I work a 3-11 job in building maintenance at my company world headquarters building which I love, but again it's very lonely. I work the off shift so the building is always empty. I don't get normal social interaction with people my age or a chance to build relationships. I only have 3 older men as co-workers and we are mostly in the basement away from any people on the floors from knowing our existence. I always walk the floors and see office people laughing and chatting with their coworkers and I just don't have that kind of experience. And just.. no one knows I exist really. Everyone probably assumes I have a lot of friends, but I'm struggling inside with being so alone and trying to meet people and get past the "hi how are you?" "I'm good thanks" stage. Most people don't seem to want to talk beyond that. And most women are already in relationships and thus it would seem weird to approach them in an office setting trying to get to know them deeper. But man those "hi how are yous" are the only real interactions I get during my day.. so thus I decided to come here lol. Rant over, sorry! I promise I'm not a downer. šŸ˜…
Now for some things about me!
As you can tell, I am very mature for my age and am polite and have good grammar which unfortunately not everyone my age does anymore lol. I am not active at all on social media/internet culture really and don't know much about all the slang the younger people these days use. I feel like I'm 50. šŸ¤£
I am left handed which is pretty cool. I'm not much of a party person or a drinker, I much prefer a quiet night at home and maybe a beer or two on a weekend but that's about it. I am simple and stay out of drama and trouble and don't get much into politics or other things that cause drama with people. I much prefer a relaxing campfire and a night at home and to just let the world keep on turning haha. I consider myself pretty intelligent and mature, especially for my age which is why I'm open to older ladies.

I loveeee to cook and bake! I enjoy making various meals but also love to just have a frozen pizza once in awhile or something like that. I recently made homemade chili which turned out great. I love to bake, especially in the fall! I love pies, cakes, pastries, cookies, etc. I restored a vintage KitchenAid mixer that needed tbe gearbox rebuilt. Eventually I would love to practice home canning my own food.

Oh my gosh, I like so much!! Alternative rock, punk, post punk, electronic, synth pop, psychedelic rock, hard rock, etc. I am very non judgemental and open when it comes to music. My three current favorite bands are Type O Negative, Joy Division, and the Cure.

I really enjoy camping, making fires, and relaxing by a campfire. I love to take walks outside and just enjoy the beauty and simplicity of nature. It's wonderful, especially in a world so focused on everything digital.

I'm a maintenance guy and one of my hobbies is electronics repair so I am good with my hands and just all around good at troubleshooting and fixing all sorts of things around the house. Last week I helped my elderly neighbor get his tractor started, it needed a new component in the starting circuit. So I'm pretty handy which... Comes in handy! šŸ˜‚

This isn't a hobby per say, but man do I love the fall!!! It's my absolute favorite time of the year. Oh my gosh. The beautiful colors, crisp cool air, misty and foggy days, rain, lack of bugs, being cuddled up with a candle or by the fire drinking a tea, etc. I love it! There's only two seasons for me. Fall, and waiting for fall! Haha.

Going along with my love for fall, I absolutely love candles! I have like 30 something lol. šŸ˜‚ Currently my favorite are WoodWick, which are owned by Yankee candle. They have such a soothing crackle and the scents are great! I also love to burn incense from time to time as well. I have cottagecore hippie vibes.
ā€¢ Old houses and architecture
I love old houses! Especially 1900s and Victorian era homes. Old homes have so much character to them and are just so beautiful from a time when people took pride in their craft. I strongly dislike the modern cookie cutter cheap construction of homes today. I would love to live in an old home one day. I also love their architecture and uniqueness, as well as architecture of old cathedrals and other buildings.

Basic I know, but sometimes on the weekend I just love to get cozy in bed and relax and put on a YouTube video or an album! šŸ˜Š

Who Here Remembers how Broken Chewbacca was at Launch?
Anyone here who has been playing since launch may remember how absolutely broken Chewbacca was when the game first released. This is specific to HvV.
I think back to that time and distinctly remember exclusively playing HvV and just crushing lobbies as a Chewie main. His extended time Shock Grenade paired with his Furious Bowcaster could melt boosted Vaders before they unfroze. The strategy was incredible simple: Charge Slam to throw them down, throw shock grenade before they get up, activate bowcaster, hold trigger down while aiming at head until they are deleted. Rinse and repeat. Chewbacca's bowcaster also had different mechanics at launch, and had a shotgun-like spread of shots rather than one single explosive projectile like it is now.
I do also believe the combat roll had a much longer period of invincibility frames when the game first launched. This meant that a properly timed roll would render you completely immune to saber attacks, and the follow up roll, if timed correctly, would create only a very short period of time where you could be hit by a saber user.
The way HvV worked was also different. The target system meant that if I stayed playing as the target with Chewbacca, and the enemy team's target was Boba, or another hero running away constantly, the other 3 enemy players were just a revolving door of free, unlimited kills. A true meatgrinder type experience. I have a photo of a leaderboard from a match shortly after the game launched that showed 58 eliminations, 31 kills and 4 deaths on Starkiller Base. Top enemy player had 10 eliminations.
All of this added together meant that I would routinely dump on enemy players with Chewbacca. In my opinion, he was the most broken character ever, aside from launch Anakin, and if all the mechanics of today's game were identical, but launch Chewbacca, with his extended shock and combat roll invincibility frames still existed, he would be the strongest, most overpowered hero in the game.
Thoughts? Who else remembers this glorious time for Chewbacca mains?

Just wanna say first of all I absolutely adore this game, huge props to the creator(s). I really want to continue playing and enjoying the game and I am curious what other people are doing once they've "beaten" it.
For classic, I haven't gone back to it since beating it, and was wondering if there is really any reason to. Is there?
For endless, I like it. Being able to go far and max out on shiny charms and hidden ability charms is nice. However after a couple of tragically lost runs, I managed to get a pretty unfair team that has completely jeopardized endless. I have basically 0 risk of losing, and while that is nice because I have max shiny odds and seemingly infinite money for items, I cant act like it hasn't gotten a littleee bit boring 900 waves in, yet I don't see myself starting from scratch as it has obviously taken a while to get here.
As for the the daily runs, I love everything about them. Only problem is that they are... daily. My college semester just ended and one daily run isn't enough to scratch the itch now that I have so much more free time. They're definitely amazing though.
So just some questions:
Whats the best way to grind egg vouchers? And also is there a consensus on which eggs to select? I'm not gonna lie I have just chosen Shiny eggs every time lol.
Best way to grind shinies/pokedex? Is there a way to grind candies?

I saw it for the first time today. I hate it. This absolutely will impact traffic to websites. I'm curious if this community agrees or if this is viewed as a positive. I say this because Gemini did summarize and answer my question. So I didn't have to go to the website.
I'm a web developer. This is a major concern and I can't see it going well. I'm not sure how Google is going to thread the needle between offering buzz worthy and admittedly useful AI and not undercutting the source of that information -- third party websites.
