2 cute couple names

My whole life I've had weird symptoms that are sporadic and on and off. I've also battled anorexia for a decade and a lot of my symptoms were attributed to the eating disorder (very likely- not denying that). I did have a DVT when I was 16 and got a bunch of bloodwork and everything was find except I did come back positive for ANA. I do know that a certain percentage of the population tests positive for ANA and does NOT have any autoimmune disease. Every family member on my maternal side also has some type of autoimmune disease (lupus and RA to name a few). Fast forward to now (25 years old) and I haven't had a solid bowel movement in 3 months, my stomach is distended to the point where I look pregnant, and it is incredibly uncomfortable and eating is now difficult. My skin also turns red and itchy upon touch (could be unrelated). It doesn't just hurt when I eat gluten, it hurts when I eat anything. I brought these concerns up to my PCP who is an NP and she did a bunch of routine labs, including a celiac panel. These were the findings:

• Low ferritin
• high A/G ratio (I get a CMP done ever three months and for the past year every time the A/G ratio is high)
• high phosphorus (last 2 blood works showed this)
• Specific to the celiac panel...

  • IgA DEFICIENT/LOW

From my brief reading of celiac panels, being deficient in IgA (which my grandmother also happens to be), with everything else being normal, could potentially be a false negative? I have been told by doctors my entire life that I'm fine and everyone attributed it to my depression, anxiety, anorexia, and put the blanket IBS diagnosis on me. I'm starting to feel a little less crazy (but still feel like my symptoms are psycho-somatic)... any advice or similar stories would be greatly appreciated!

Just finished Season 27. Been watching from the beginning, in order.
Curious to hear what other people think about this season (no spoilers for subsequent seasons, pleeeease.)
I'll start at the end because it was maybe the best tribal council I'd ever seen. All three finalists made good speeches. The jury asked good questions. I went into FTC assuming it was a runaway for Tyson, but after hearing each finalist's speech, I felt as though each one of them would have been a deserving winning, and the runners-up might have won if they were up against lesser contestants from episodes past.
I started w/that because Blood v Water is third from the bottom for me. I didn't like a lot of the emotional "tough decisions" which were the point of this season. I'm not a mom, nor did I know my mom, so all the Ciera-Laura stuff was boring (at best.) But I totally get why others might have liked those bits.
Here are some of my thoughts:
Gervase - I was so glad to see him back! I loved Season 1, and when I read about it, I'd read that Gervase had been trying to make alliances but the young guy(s) didn't want to form alliances. So, he was kind of SOL. We didn't see any of that. He came across that season as just a jokester. I remember being impressed with his FTC speech because it was really good, and I was surprised because he'd seemed like just a goofball until he made that great speech while he was voting (about how Sue had no right to be so angry about Kelly's "betrayal.") He was so right. And I thought man, that guy is smarter than he seemed. So it was great to see him get another shot. I was glad he made it to the final 3. I agree with his FTC speech. I think he played a great game (except he was surprisingly bad in the first challenge.) I agree with everything he said at FTC.
Tyson - In his first season, I loved his sense of humor and his style. I think he's the funniest player ever (to "date", meaning to Ssn 27.) But my opinion of him sank when he was mean to that blonde girl in whatever season that was. The girl who had the flu (I was pissed that she came on the show with the flu. Can you imagine spending 10 yrs trying to get on the show, and then sitting on the boat next to someone who was hocking up phlegm and had a 100 degree fever?? But then I warmed to her because she was mentally so strong, and kept fighting, and I really liked her by the end. I forget her name. But Tyson told her to her face that she was "not smart enough" to something, something. And it was mean.
I always give the mean players a second chance, and hope that when they watch themselves they regret things like that. It's great to see returning players come back who have grown and become better. And Tyson did. He regretted being mean, and in his 2nd season he was not mean to anybody (that we saw.) So, when he came back a 3rd time I was happy. And I was really glad he won. I'd have been happy if it was either him or Tina. They're both great in different ways.
Monica - I liked some things about her. The best was her FTC speech. People kept asking her over and over to show her true self (she already had!) And I loved when she said, "Have you people never met a nice person before??" That's up there in my top 3 FTC speeches. I liked her husband, Brad, and I loved her relationship with him. They were sweet together. But I understand why people were saying she was annoying. I think she may be in the lower percentile of survivor contestants when it comes to IQ (along with Erik and Christina.) And that made some of her spiels annoying and caused her to bug people by talking too much about strategy. It was as if she wanted to prove that she was a great strategist. What she was great at were the physical challenges. Really impressive! She's a neat lady. Didn't deserve to win, but I'm glad she made it as far as she did.
Tina - I love Tina. She amazed back in Ssn 2 when she swam across a crocodile infested river in the middle of the night to find the can of rice that had floated away in the flood. Nobody else did anything like that. I wouldn't have gone in that river in the day time let alone in pitch blackness. And she found it! And then she stood on that post in the freezing weather above the water for over 10 hrs - that's nuts (in a good way.) And she impressed me again in this season. I was bummed when she got out, but it had to be her or Tyson because they were the biggest threats for best player in the end, and Tyson had immunity, so it had to be Tina. She always handles everything honestly and like a champ.
Katie - was someone I would like IRL, but, unfortunately, she was a little boring for Survivor and she was terrible at challenges. I was SO glad when her mom chose NOT to let her win on Redemption Island. If Tina'd let Katie win, I'd have wanted to barf. But I liked Tina and Katie's relationship a lot.
Which brings me to Ciera. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I couldn't stand Ciera. She sucked at challenges throughout the first half of the game, bringing her team down. And then her mom got voted out in a large part due to the fact that the returning players knew that Laura would never sacrifice her daughter for the team. And they thought Laura might have a shot at beating Brad at Redmptn. Isl. but I think that was the lesser of the reasons. So, Laura got voted out basically because of her relationship with her daughter, and then Ciera has the nerve to say, "My mom got voted out already. I'm still here. The fact is, I'm a better player than my mom." And then there was all that sappy shit with Ciera crying over voting out her mom. Ugh - I started fast-forwarding her parts. She seemed to me to have the mentality of a teenager who thinks they know it all, and thinks they're so much smarter than other people when they're not.
Laura B - She was really, really impressive in challenges and on Redemption Island. I wasn't too enamored with her in her 1st season mostly because of how she was with Shambo (who I loved.) But I'd be happy to see Laura again if she wasn't there with her daughter.
Rupert - I always love Rupert. His wife is sweet, too, and it was nice she got to play.
Candice - I don't know if I'm in the minority here. Probably. I can't stand Candice. I was stoked she got voted out first, and then bummed that I still had to listen to her on Redemption Island. Her plusses: she has a nice husband, and she doesn't say "no" when Survivor calls her after someone else backed out. Her image of her own self is highly inflated.
On the Wiki, I read a list of people who Survivor had asked to be on the show. Ah, I would have loved to have seen Earl again, and RC (loved her), and even Jerri (Another who I didn't like their first season, but they learned and grew.) Pleeeeease no more Candice.
Who am I forgetting?
Oh yeah. Colton. Strangely, I don't mind Colton. I didn't like when he was mean to Christina in his first season, but you can tell with him it's an act, and that it's coming from a place of insecurity. I believe he's a nicer person on the inside, and I believe he probably continued to grow. What I didn't like was how he curled up in the fetal position on his fiance's lap like a baby. That was just weird. And I don't mean because they were two men, I'd have felt the same way if Kat did that to Hayden.
Caleb. Just like everybody, I kept thinking, "Why would such a normal, likeable guy like Caleb get engaged to someone so different from himself? Someone who can't seem to stop himself from saying mean things about people and acting like a baby.
Kat - I was impressed with her mostly because she was yet another example of someone who watched themselves and grew. She was a lot calmer this time … up until she got voted out. She lost me with her little meltdown about how her boyfriend was going to break up with her because she got voted out of Survivor. Ugh. And then the big question over whether he would switch with her or not. If she was a nice, level-headed person she would have right away said, “Don’t even think about it, Hayden. You stay in this game.” But she waited and they made a big, sappy scene about it … I got the feeling she was testing him. Insecure. Blah.
Hayden – I liked him.
Aras – I didn’t remember him from his season. I had to rack my brain, and then I had a vague memory of thinking, “Oh yeah, I think I thought he deserved to win.” But when I first saw him, I thought, “This is returning player?”
Vytas – I have a feeling he’ll be back. I really liked him a lot. Good, smart player.
All around, I didn't like the "Blood v Water" schtick … but Tyson was great, Tina was great, Rupert, Vytas, and some others were good, and FTC was really good, so those things saved it from sinking to the bottom of my list.

So her 7 day TOS ban is up, and after copyright and privacy striking multiple channels multiple times for reacting to her, she went live to a couple thousand idiots who can't seem to see her hypocritical bullshit over their hatred of the Gunt, and had the balls to talk shit about Chantal. Just for clarity, no one struck her channel like she was saying, she got a TOS violation. There's a huge difference.
She's basically saying she can say or do whatever she wants and it's OK, but if ANYONE mentions her name, she'll falsely strike their channel. No one in her chat has a problem with this??? Even Chinny's skin is thicker than that. Imagine the outcry if Chantal started striking channels. She's acting like Nader and apparently her and Sam are even defending his right to strike channels.
I'm not really into Gorlworld like I used to be, so maybe that's it, but I just cant figure out how people still watch her after turning into a bigger cow than Chantal? She's even making alliances with people she's talked mad shit about before, like Monty and Gorlicbread, not to mention the people who threatened her children, all because she's obsessed with "winning" this cringe ass fight that she started with GG, Belinda and whoever else she's mad at atm.
Anyway, it's not a surprise that she's back to reacting (what else is she going to do?) it's just crazy considering the temper tantrum she threw. Whatever. That's my rant.

I'm a blind 20 year old college student currently paying $900 a month in rent, plus another $400 a month in pet rent (4 rats, and a dog) I've been renting the house for 2 years now, and my lease is running out soon. My landlord has decided not to renew the lease as he would like to move in it to retire.
The house I'm renting currently has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. It is not within any public transportation. The 3 bedroom is nice, because my grandma and brother often live with me for parts of the year because my hometown is under feet of snow most of the time, and is generally a nightmare to live in if your old. The lease is in my name, but the landlord knows that they stay with me for long amounts of time, and they help with rent when they are here.
I've always made rent on time; although maintaining employment has been incredibly difficult for me. Because no one likes it when blind people drive for some reason, (Jokes, Jokes I know why I can't drive) it's hard for me to get to and from both work and school. If I want to do anything, including but not limited to work and school, I have to beg a friend to drive out of their way to take me.
Now that I won't be able to stay here, I'm at a crossroads. I can either, find another place to rent, which will almost certainly be more expensive than where I am now, and won't be any closer to public transportation, or I can take advantage of a city run housing program for the disabled that would allow me to buy a house close to public transit. For the same amount of rent I pay now, I could own my home in 30 years.
On one hand, I really don't think I'll ever own a home if I don't take this opportunity. It would help me get a stable job since I would have semi-reliable transportation, and it has a spare room I could rent out, plus a yard for the dog. It's also near my school. I like the neighborhood, and generally enjoy living in my town.
On the other hand, I'm only 20. Literally anything could happen. The city is super depressed as a whole, with high unemployment, and low wages. There is a lot of crime, and it's not exactly easy to sell here. Plus there is a high crime rate and lots of gang related violence. Buying this house would take me out of the thick of it, but If I ever want to leave, I'd have to figure something out. If I buy, I'm locked into this location for the rest of my life.
The other catch is that this program is only available until July. I already am qualified for it, but in order for me to get it, I have to act fast. If I buy after the program closes, I lose it. If I buy now, even once it's gone, I've got it.
I also very well could be locked into this town one way or another. Since living here, I've made a bit of a name for myself. I sell crochet items and other handmade toys fairly regularly at local craft fairs. This combined with taking commissions for custom toys has been how I've been staying afloat for the last 2 years. Leaving the town, means starting from 0 as far as selling my art goes. Plus, my grandma and brother are both on board with helping to pay my mortgage or rent when they inevitably end up staying with me.
I'm leaning towards buying, but I'm still incredibly nervous about the decision.

Okay hear me out:
I did a deep dive into the actors instagram and this may all be overthinking/not real but here’s the tea:
So when I look at an actor’s follower list it’s sorted by most recent.
Hannah Dodd has recently followed an actor the name of Micheal Ward (who’s very handsome and Michael like). He follows her back as well as follows Nicola and Phoebe. In fact he followed them around the same time.
Now for both Hannah and Micheal, they are relatively recent follows (she followed him way after everyone in Bridgerton) however their instagram likes go back a couple years (they might have been stalking each other).
As of now, they’ve been liking each others recent stuff a lot.
He follows Nicola too but he doesn’t really like any of her stuff.
Nicola followed him a while before she followed John (just a couple of people in between them).
Now here’s the interesting part! Both him and Masali have liked posts of each others but for some reason… they don’t follow each other?
He’s liked a post of her in Dec 22 and she’s liked posts of him in Dec 23 but they’re not following each other so 1) they had a falling out?? Or 2) they were forced to unfollow each other (???). (also side note: she followed phoebe and simone before Hannah so idk why people said she and victor were followed first)
And another interesting thing? Victor has like a post of his in April but they also don’t follow each other!
He recently had a movie come out with Netflix so he does have a deal with them.
This also could be absolutely nothing and they’re just Netflix coworkers and I’m just clowning but I just thought it was all so interesting.

My (38F) husband (40M) and I have been together for 4 years, married for nearly 3. Initially, we had a commuter marriage where he was living in another state and we took care of our own expenses in our respective residences. Last summer, we moved in together and agreed to split household expenses. Since moving in together, it has been rough to say the least. Not issues like personal habits, but deeper issues. First, he never revealed he was in default for 6-figures worth of student loans and didn’t tell me until we were in underwriting for our home. I had to find out from the loan officer actually. We had multiple discussions about finances prior to getting married and he never mentioned this. Needless to say I don’t trust anything he says now (I also found some photos of a woman on his phone shortly after I had a miscarriage about 2 years ago). I had to get the house in my name, but I digress.
Since we have been together, he has been let go from 4 or 5 jobs. The first time he didn’t even tell me about it. After the second time he got let go, I spent hundreds of dollars setting up a business for him, something he said he always wanted to do. We are both in the medical field. He never took advantage of starting his business and all the work (and money) I put into it went to waste. He has worked 2 or 3 jobs since then. Shortly after we moved in together last summer, he lost his job again. Luckily, he received severance pay and had a job lined up quickly after that so we didn’t take a financial hit.
Fast forward to March of this year when I lost my job. I didn’t get severance pay. I was making just over 6 figures but I was paying for all of our family’s health, dental, vision benefits (~$800/month), so my take home pay was a lot less than you’d expect with that salary. After all the deductions, my take home pay was only a few hundred dollars more than his. As soon as I lost my job, I told him that he may have to cover the mortgage for April if I’m not able to find steady work by then. We did not have much money saved because we used our savings for a down payment on our home. We do not live above our means. Most of our expenses are student loans. Since losing my job, I have been working my part-time job and doing odd jobs scraping up money to pay for groceries (~$600/month), car insurance, etc. I was able to pay a few bills in April with the money I had saved but didn’t have enough to help with the mortgage. I have been struggling but have been trying to play my part in contributing to the household. I recently decided since I am not working, that I wanted to take the opportunity to start my own business. My mother has helped me spearhead the business by loaning me money for equipment and other business expenses. Things are actually going better than I had expected but I am still in the red and am not making any profit right now. I am still doing odd jobs and will be starting a second part-time job in June in addition to working the new business.
My husband and I recently got into a disagreement about something I saw on social media and one of the first things he mentions is having to pay the mortgage by himself (he makes ~$70,000 per year and we live in a modest home). I’m not sure how me seeing something on social media turned into a discussion about our finances (likely deflecting). I reminded him that I’m not working a full time job and I never thought it would be a problem for him to provide for us while I’m trying to get on my feet while also getting my business of the ground. I never mentioned how when he lost his job I tried to help him start his business and support him through that and he chose to squander it away (I wanted to). I reminded him that although I’m not contributing 50/50 I am still contributing. His response was “that (him providing for the family) is not what we agreed to” and that we agreed to split finances 50/50 in the beginning.
I told him that day I wanted a divorce. I have had a difficult time trusting him from the beginning and I feel I should have never married him knowing I don’t trust him. Then to complain about paying the mortgage one time by himself in a year after I lost my job makes me feel like I’m a burden. I am trying my best to help and I’m not working a steady full time job yet and I don’t think I should be made to feel this way. I have been married before when I was very young and loathe the thought of being divorced again. Am I wrong for not wanting to be married any longer?

I realized yt-dlp was usually picking 720 resolution so I added -f "bv+ba/b" to the command so it picks a much higher resolution video. Now it picks a 1080 or 1440p video, but I am having trouble with the audio.
FFMPEG gives an error:

Ever wonder why Joseph & his friends had to sit in Liberty Jail for MONTHS during the winter when they hadn't been convicted of a crime?
Turns out in the 1800s, most courts only operated twice per year. So when Joseph was arrested in November, he was stuck in a jail and had no trial, no hearings, no options, until court was back in session in the following spring.
And remember, this incarceration kicked off the "Extermination Order" of Governor Boggs, which sought to exterminate or expel all Mormons from the state of Missouri. So while Joseph and other leaders are in jail they are getting reports of intense suffering endured by the saints. Beatings, rape, murder, robbery, and the worst kinds of abuse. All with no options. No rights. Just the power of the governor keeping you locked in a tiny cell because the courts can't be bothered to deal with you right now.
Man, oh man, Governor Boggs hated the Mormons. Especially Joseph Smith.
Finally, in April, Just before a trial would have to begin, Joseph was allowed to escape. Almost as if they knew they had nothing that would stick, but they could inflict 6 months of unjust imprisonment on them.
But Boggs didn't like that. He was more of a "kick out all the Mormons, but also throw them all in jail" kind of guy. He demanded Illinois arrest and extradite Joseph and others to be jailed again and face more charges. Luckily, a court found that the warrant was deficient. The saints managed to settle in Nauvoo, and Boggs was soon done as governor of Missouri.
But then someone tried to kill Boggs.
Neighbors identified somebody named Tompkins, but opponents of the church quickly asserted it must have been a Mormon, trying to get revenge.
With hostile forces gathering, Saints figured that Boggs would soon try to arrest Latter-day Saints again - even though they were now in Illinois. How to defend yourself from the power of a corrupt former governor, or illegal orders from your own governor? The saints came up with a novel idea. They created a city ordinance that allowed the municipal court to essentially examine any extradition requests, whether federal, state, or city based, under the common law of Habeas Corpus
Around that time, John C. Bennett sent letters to newspapers claiming Joseph Smith hired Orrin Porter Rockwell to assassinate Boggs.
Now with a story he could use, Boggs went to a justice of the peace to swear an affidavit that Rockwell was the shooter, and that Joseph Smith was an accessory to the attempted murder, citing "evidence and information" in his possession. (But not saying what that evidence or information was.) He used this affidavit to convince the new Missouri governor, Thomas Reynolds, to initiate the extradition process to try and bring Joseph back to the state where people were so hostile to Mormons that the jails would only release Mormon prisoners in the middle of the night due to attacks by mobs.
Receiving the demand from Missouri, Illinois governor Thomas Carlin went ahead and issued warrants without any pushback, and JS and Rockwell were arrested in Nauvoo. The two prisoners exercised their right for habeas corpus under the Nauvoo ordinance.
That stalled the arrest long enough for Joseph to enact a backup plan and reach out to the county court for the writ of habeas corpus, which was also granted.
Well now we have a pickle. We have two governors, three states (Iowa later got involved), a city marshal, a municipal court, a county court, a county constable, a sheriff, an agent of the Missouri government all barking at each other about who has authority, who can arrest who, and the rights of the accused never really given fair consideration. Looking to skip over annoying questions of law and jurisdiction, rewards were offered by the governors of Missouri and Illinois for the capture of JS and Rockwell. Mobs arrived in Nauvoo to hunt them down. For months this went on, with Joseph being shifted around from home to home to try and avoid the people who would forcibly take him to Missouri despite the writ of habeas corpus, and no higher power willing to actually look at the legality of the extradition order, or the right of Nauvoo to intercede. Things were bleak. It was like the worst days of Missouri had come again.
Really, Joseph had 2 options: submit to arrest and jail in Missouri (he knew what that was like, and rightly feared the abuses he would certainly suffer again there), or else hide until some court or government outside of mob control finally paid attention. I don't blame him one bit for choosing to hide!
A few months pass and in 1842, a former Illinois state supreme court justice was elected governor of Illinois, and the saints thought maybe they had an opening to get justice. A delegation was sent to speak with him and the US Attorney for the district of Illinois. When the US Attorney heard the details he immediately said the extradition order was illegal and requested Joseph come to Springfield to be heard before the U.S. district court - a court with Federal authority.
But how do you get Joseph to Springfield without one of these mobs or lawmen jumping him and dragging him to Missouri for that cash reward? You get the Nauvoo Legion to arrest him and escort the prisoner themselves. :D
On arriving in Springfield, hostile county officials at first refused to provide a copy of the warrant, knowing it was going to be challenged. So the Governor's office provided one and submitted the case to the district court.
Crazy arguments were made on both sides, with people arguing about jurisdiction, residency, and the facts of the alleged crime itself. Stuff that doesn't really happen today, but was common back then.
The Judge said, in essence, "Since extradition is between two states, it MUST be a federal issue and therefore heard by a federal court. (Sorry Nauvoo.) And furthermore, A governor can't just demand another state arrest somebody and send them over. The alleged criminal has to have committed a crime in that state, then ran away to another state. Joseph Smith didn't do that, so too bad, Missouri."
This ruling helped establish precedent in American extradition law, making it clear that you can't just demand somebody be extradited, even if you're a governor.

Bennett and the state of Missouri would try one more time, and fail again, to extradite Joseph Smith. After which the state of Illinois would be the next source of charges against Joseph, including the charges that led to Carthage Jail.

My roommates and I are all contract healthcare workers from out of state. I live in a pretty big house and have lots of roommates. I havent met most of them and theres going to be completely different people here in a couple weeks and I have no clue how many people currently live here. None of us will be living here in a couple months, no permanent residents.
I just got off the phone with progressive to get my new address/rate and I can't get my new policy activated until I enter my roommates driver's license #s into progressive. They aren't listed as drivers on my policy but progressive said everyone I live with has to be recorded as in the same household. Due to the nature of taxes and residency for some travel healthcare positions, I have no clue who actually has their car insurance at this address and I don't think any of my roommates currently drive. I havent met most of them and I don't know any of their names. Not sure how I'm expected to get everyone's DL# when I just moved here and nobody talks to each other.
I explained the situation to the progressive policy person over the phone and she said there isn't a workaround. My landlord sometimes lives here and the progressive said it's fine to just list them, but I still need her license #. I saw some other posts mentioning that I can have the driver listed as an excluded driver, but progressive didn't mention that as an option even though there's no chance anybody else in this house drives my car. What do I do? Do I just have to ask for my roomies drivers licenses? I don't remember ever having to do something like this. At my old place I just had to record my roommates names.

Some big techs (such as Google and Microsoft) work with this end-to-end approach, basing solutions with a lot of analysis and research for internal customers (generating products that we use on a daily basis), but also for external customers, signing consultancy contracts with third parties.
But wtf does it have to do with this sub? Well, we start from the principle that, unlike science fictions (such as Black Mirror) proposes, there is no inherent villainy in innovation and technological progress, but rather a complex process in which the bourgeoisie uses these means to intensify worker exploitation and accumulation of capital. That being said, our approach is based on well-defined values ​​and philosophies, with our conclusions being based on studies and debates, including Marxist literature.
Our main objective, in this sense, is to rethink the way we relate to work and the current mode of production in the Digital Era. Furthermore, we are also concerned about the impact we will have on our communities and society in general, which is why our cooperative model considers a quota of supportive clients (social movements, popular projects, occupations, etc.) that will be maintained by the leftovers (parallel of profit for cooperatives) obtained in B2B (business-to-business) consultancy.

Hey everyone, I am in the process of choosing the best overall ultralight tent with some of your opinions (I have been going back and forth with so many). Mainly want to get something nice & packable as I can take care of it and use it as long as I can (coming from a hammock camper). I have been looking at the Durston X-Mid 2 Solid as a trekking pole tent, but am open to anything that would be best. I would mostly be setting up camp in the forest or in a field. One con I did see about the X-Mid was that it needs a lot of space to be properly staked out, but it also weighs around two pounds. I would like to keep it under $400, and with the REI sale coming up, there’s a couple of tents such as the Nemo hornet and the tiger wall that are UL that would be under $400 after my code, but I would really like as many opinions as I could get. Before I became a parent I was listening to some random morning talk show on my way to work and they were asking people to call in with the “best lie they’ve ever told their kids.” Naturally, I was like wtf, but then this woman called in and shared her “lie,” if you will, and suddenly it all made sense 🥴🤷🏼‍♀️
She said, “I told my kids, when they were very young, that whenever they lie a star appears on their forehead that only adults can see. After that, if they ever actually tried to pull one over on us they’d always try to turn away or attempt to “nonchalantly” put their hand up over their face.”

I’ve been married for 5 years to a man I’ve known for over a decade. We met in college and we were best friends before we started dating. He’s the best husband and father in the world. He’s loving, kind, strong, protective, hard working, affectionate and gentle. I am a stay at home mom and he works all day, but he is still very involved with our kids and helps me around the house. The only problem is I’ve been keeping an abusive past secret from him. My parents were very physically and emotionally abusive. My husband knows I have a difficult relationship with them but that’s about it. He doesn’t know that they used to beat me, spit in my face, throw things at me and call me horrible names. He doesn’t know that, even though my parents made lots of money, there was never any food in our house. He doesn’t know that they refused me medical care on several occasions. I basically just told him “it’s complicated and my relationship with them is difficult and strained”. When we started dating I was too ashamed to tell him. He came from such a good home and his parents are amazing people. I was afraid he would think I was weird or that I had too much baggage.
To be completely honest, my past didn’t impact my life much until I became a mom. When my first baby was born I started having flashbacks and nightmares. No matter how much I try I can’t understand how someone can abuse their child. I love my babies so much and I only want them to feel love and accepted by me.
Recently my husband and I go into a pretty big fight. The fight was over something really stupid but he yelled (I’ve only seen him raise is voice a couple times since we’ve been together and this was the first time he’s ever yelled at me) and I broke completely down. I felt an overwhelming urge to hide. I felt like a little kid again trying to avoid getting beat. He stepped towards me and I involuntarily flinched and that really hurt and offended him.
He’s never laid a hand on me so I definitely understand why he’s offended. We talked it out, I told him I’ve always been a little sensitive to yelling but that’s all I said. He reassured me that I don’t ever have to worry about him physically hurting me.
I think I need counseling but if I started seeing a counselor he would want to know why. I’m also scared he will be mad that I kept this from him. I know I probably need to tell him everything but I’m scared it will change the way he sees me.
