Looking for some help for my monstera. I've had it for 6+ years and haven't had any issues until recently.
For the past few months one leaf at a time has been turning yellow and dying. Also the new leaves are small and floppy. I hadn't been fertilizing regularly and haven't repotted since I got it.
Two weeks ago I repotted it and on advice of my friend who gave me the plant got some good tropical soil and mixed 1:1 with orchid bark. Then this week another leaf turned yellow 😞 and I can see others are too. Am I just being impatient or is something else wrong? Should I cut off the sad leaves?
I water about once a week but check if it is still wet before watering, it sits next to a north facing window (the only window options I have).

I would like a range of tall green leafy plants/tree/shrubs to create a sort of wall (they'll all be in their separate pot) then I plan on having pretty colourful flowers in smaller pots in front of them.
I'm brainstorming, but to give an idea of the sort of flowers I'd like would be:

As you can see, I'm after a cottagey feel.
Could I please have suggestions on tall leafy green beauties that will tolerate harsh sun to create the atmosphere/background I'm after.

One way to show how much former President Donald Trump has influenced GOP politics is through a Republican primary runoff for North Carolina’s redrawn 13th Congressional District.
Kelly Daughtry and Brad Knott, the top two finishers in the March 5 primary, will face off for the right to represent voters. On Tuesday, both names will be on the ballot in the runoff election.

Knott has reminded his followers that they must cast ballots to win; he needs to receive the most votes to win. In November, local Republicans would select a substitute to challenge Democrat Frank Pierce if Daughtry prevails but declines the nomination.
With his endorsement of Daughtry’s rival in the 2022 13th District primary, Trump has a track record of meddling in North Carolina politics. Following Trump’s endorsement of then-U.S. Rep. Ted Budd in the 2022 GOP primary for the U.S. Senate, Budd comfortably defeated then-Governor Pat McCrory and won the general election.
Addison McDowell, a first-time candidate who ultimately won the 6th Congressional District election, was another candidate that Trump supported in the most recent March primary. The 13th District seat, which covers all or portions of eight counties in or near the capital of Raleigh, saw a total of 14 individuals initially run for it this year.
Current Democratic U.S. Representative Wiley Nickel decided not to seek for reelection after the district was reshaped to the right by the Republican-controlled legislature. I have had a North Face Borealis for near a year and spent the weekend with a Osprey Nebula and Quasar. As I didn't see any review comparing them, and actually, any review about the Quasar, I think it's time to share something with the community and not just lurk around here.
Let's start with the Borealis. A well-known backpack, good materials but a very big design flaw that I have only seen mentioned in a review: The admin compartment makes the main compartment so narrow that you can't barely get anything in. It seems that the backpack was designed to only have almost flat items in that compartment, otherwise it results in both an odd humpback shape and the mentioned issue with the main compartment. This is why I was in the market for another backpack.
So, I grabbed these Ospreys from a local store. Some people say they are similar, just the Nebula larger, but no way.
For starters, the Quasar is the bigger of the three. Yes, as you read it. Theory says it has 26L versus the Borealis 28L and Nebula 32, but the main compartment of the Quasar is significantly bigger than the main compartment of the Nebula.
Another difference are the zippers. On the Quasar, they are not protected, so water leaking inside is easier. The Nebula has a cover, which some people say it's an annoyance, but you get used to it after a few times opening and closing it.
The front is different, with the Borealis and Quasar using bungee cords and the Nebula a mesh. Up to preference, but personally, I find the mesh more practical. Now, some people complain that the straps to keep the mesh in place are another annoyance because you need to loosen them to be able to open the main and admin compartments. After a couple of days, I haven't had to loosen those straps to open the compartments, there is enough room. It's only necessary if you want to add some big stuff.
The Borealis and the Nebula have a dedicated laptop compartment. However, the Nebula also has several pockets in that compartment. The Quasar has a laptop sleeve which is bigger than advertised as well. It says 14" but I think it can fit a MBP 16" (15" for sure). The additional pockets in the Nebula's laptop compartment are available in the main compartment of the Quasar.
The admin section is the best and the worst thing of the Borealis. It has enough pockets for organize stuff. Osprey backpacks have a very simple layout, maybe two more pockets would have been better. However, the depth of the compartment sucks, but sucks sucks sucks in the Borealis. It's very small, meanwhile the Osprey go all the way down to the bottom.
In terms of comfort, both Osprey are similar and much better than the Borealis.
In terms of size, the Nebula and the Quasar are similar, with an unnoticeable 1cm difference. The Borealis is noticeably taller.
In summary, for me the best choice is the Nebula, but:

I would pick the Quasar if I had some use for the bungee cords or I wanted a big main compartment.
I would pick the Borealis if I didn't care about the depth of the admin compartment, only stored a couple of not bulky items there, or wanted the most external capacity, because the Borealis has the bungee but also can carry stuff on the bottom side with two straps used to compress the backpack when it's not filled.

Okay I’ve heard guys talk about it on guard several times at night but now I have seen them in person.
Our path was Vegas to Houston across ELP. Time of first sighting around 01:30central (welllll past sunset).
First sighting was just a bit east of Fort Stockton (FST) looking North. Total of four spotted ranging from around our altitude (high 30s) to waaay above our altitudes.
They moved in semi circular patterns with the light sometimes very bright like another airliner facing you and then fading to medium to dim then disappeared.
Try to envision someone dogfighting at night with the landing light on but also some side lights so when they turn sideways you still dimly see them.
When we had an extended sideways view you could really see the speed of the relative movement against the stars.
At least four of us were chatting on guard and all saw them. One reporter was 200-300miles north of us and saw them to his south so the lights were in between our tracks.
Here is what really puzzles me…. The lights stayed in a similar position relative to us in our window. They started out at about our 9 o’clock and stayed there and even slowly progressed to a 10 o’clock relative position. We had view of them easily 30 minutes maybe more. Last view was on decent into Houston.
Captain reports he saw the same thing a month or two ago flying over Nevada and California.
Satellites require sunlight from over the horizon to show up. That is ruled out due to how far past sundown we were.
Occam’s Razor says they are man made very advanced aircraft (possibly unmanned).
Several of us on guard (one at 40) all believe the higher two had to be well above 50, perhaps 60s.
Hopefully some of yall here have similar experiences to share.

25F, BMI healthy range, no smoking, no drugs, low alcohol consumption. Physical job, good shape. Medications beclometasone (asthma), sertraline. North Europe.
EYES: For the past month I have had nonstop visual problems which feels like a migraine aura. My vision is grainy like TV static noise. If I look at a geometric pattern, it starts moving: if I stand on our geometric rug and look down, my feet disappear from my vision. If lighting changes, I see white and black spots and patches moving around. If I close my eyes, I also see patches moving, even flashing lights sometimes. I struggle to focus on looking at things, other thigns around the focus point start moving or then I have double vision. I have occasional pain behind my **left eye**, a feeling of pressure, sometimes tingling and goosebumbs in the eyesocket. One night red spots (petechiae) appeared around this eye.
VERTIGO/EARS: I have vertigo on and off. At worst I couldn't stand straight without swaying and even crawled on the floor cause everything was spinning. If I close my eyes and try to walk or stand on one leg, I fall down. (Normally I do sports that require good balance and am able to eg. go up and down a rope on one leg and jump onto obstacles and slide while downhill skiing.) I have tinnitus, mainly low noise like holding an ear against a seashell, sometimes periods of loud beeps. Once I lost hearing in my **left ear** for a period of time.
COGNITIVE: I forget things a lot and struggle to focus. I've always been absentminded but never this featherbrained. Before in my life I had never lost my bank card, and only once left the house while forgetting my keys inside. Now in a short period of time I have lost my bank card twice and keys twice and only got them back with the help of strangers. I have also felt just generally disorientated at times, asking stupid questions and misunderstanding what I'm told and just having very absurd thought chains that leave me acting like an idiot over something that could be done simply.
NUMBNESS: My legs, hands from elbow down, and mouth went numb last Saturday and still remain a little bit numb. I struggled walking, had to sit down a lot, and my grip wasn't as tight as normal. I felt lightheaded standing. I could speak and smile, though, and my face wasn't and never has been droopy. When I smile, though, the muscles on the left side of my mouth tense up unusually with wrinkles that used not to be there.
SWALLOWING: I struggle swallowing at times, threw up water once and just keep coughing at other times. (The petechiae I mentioned earlier happened after I threw up, so it could also be a result of that.)
EXHAUSTION: One day I was able to stay awake for just five hours (granted I was in the ER the past night for numbness), another night I slept for like fifteen hours. I am tired a lot, some days all I can do is lie in bed or sit on couch, other days I have to take more breaks and just go to bed right after work (if I've been even able to get to work.)
Tests so far: EKG normal. CBC normal. Blood pressure within normal range, a little elevated in one test but could have been just me worrying about not being able to stand at the time. Blood sugar and culture normal.
Tried so far: Headache does not respond to ibuprofen or paracetamol. I tried Epley manoeuvre for two weeks as a doctor suggested it, either that or rest from sick leave days might have improved the vertigo from "unable to stand without swaying" to "just annoying." Eye strain helps somewhat when I take off my glasses.
I feel like doctors aren't taking me seriously, even brought up my mental health history out of the bush like I'm imagining things even though I'm all gucci on that end. I get that my symptoms are unusual as a whole and they find it unlikely it's anything acute, but my life is so hellish with this shit, it's like flipping a coin if I'll be lying in bed all day with a headache and nausea and numbness and what not, or when I do drag my ass to work, if I gotta drag a chair around cause I struggle standing, and keep pushing myself to the end of the shift telling myself "just one more hour." It's also annoying I haven't seen properly for a month, even now writing this hurts my head. It's like they are hiding referrals like government secrets lol.
Background information: I have asthma and alfa-1-antitrypsin-deficiency (MZ alleles). I have also been on sertraline for years. (I did stop it last autumn when a doctor suggested it wasn't necessary anymore. I have family history of bipolar, and experienced a two week period of hypomania like symptoms after stopping. Soon after, a stressful life event triggered a depressive episode, which lasted for two months, but subsided as I started the medication again and got over the stressful life event. For the past four months I have had less stress than normally, I have been happy, I love my new work, I have friends, etc. When starting and ending sertraline I had mild side symptoms such as a feeling of vertigo for a second or two when moving my head quickly, but I would find it quite strange that a medication that has worked well for me for years would suddenly be behind all these strange symptoms that started about a month ago.)

Friends of Reddit, I’m currently living in Tennessee but have a man who literally is stalking me and trying to make my life a living hell. For quick context, I dated a guy for 2 years (we’ll call him C) and specifically his friend (we’ll call him J) has it out for me. A year prior, I lived in Kentucky for college and J was dating one of my roommates (I don’t talk to any of my old roommates currently as things went sour, specifically with the situation I am about to mention). One night at my house, we all were arguing and J slapped me across the face in front of his girlfriend (my roommate at the time). C and I were not dating during this. J repeatedly showed up to my house when only I was home, would show up to public places I was at, has put his hands on me multiple times, and still to this day when I visit friends in Kentucky, will go out of his way to find me in public and get in my face/interact with me in a violent way physically or verbally. J currently lives in Ohio, and again I live in Tennessee….so therefore I am unable to file an EPO through Tennessee, or the state of KY, or OH. But he is following me across state lines, finding my places of employment, finding my other friends, calling my family anonymously…I am stuck unknowing what to do. I am about to take my dream job in North Carolina, which unfortunately he will ALSO be moving to with his girlfriend at some point. While I know I can file an EPO while we will be living in the same state, is there ANYTHING I can do currently to protect myself? I am living in genuine fear across multiple state lines. Please help.

This post will be edited several times and created the same way as The Journey post which has a Table of Contents for this subreddit. The book I am using is called "The Complete I Ching: 10th Anniversary Edition" by Alfred Huang. The I Ching is similar to how Tarot is used for divination. I am more interested in the philosophical aspect. I am not an expert on this information. I am comparing the Cardinal Directions (North, South, East and West) with what is explained in the I Ching and the Tarot. This information pertains to an extension of self learning while investigating the "Exercise of Fire" which is something mentioned in the Ra Material. It is your choice to follow along and maybe view the Cube of Space from another perspective. A few things to note about the Cube of Space are the sides of the cube. If this were to be seen as a solid structure then the North, East and Below parts as well as the inner cube cannot be seen. This could mean that it is harder to connect with the hidden parts of the Cube of Space. With this in mind then this may also indicate that Kun and Li need more clarification than the other two hexagrams.

Does Gerry Kelly have anything in common with Sir John Profumo? This question flummoxed me when raised by Master Bell, the judge hearing my application last December to have Kelly’s defamation writ against me struck out. “Let us consider the case of the former minister of war,” said the judge, sounding pretty much like a professor conducting a tutorial. Profumo had to resign his government post because he had been discovered to have been visiting a prostitute who also had a Russian diplomat as a client. He might have been jeopardising national security with post-coital pillow talk, and that wouldn’t do. But in later life, Sir John was awarded a CBE for his charitable work. Might it not be, asked Master Bell, that, in a similar way, Gerry Kelly was once a man with no entitlement to a reputation because of his engagement in violence, but that he now is a good man, a distinguished member of the Policing Board, an MLA and someone who has earned the respect of his peers? I paraphrase. I was sitting at the back of the courtroom, listening to all this and thinking: “Oh, drat! [I paraphrase again.] I hadn’t thought of that.” I doubt Kelly’s own legal team had thought of it either, but they took it up and argued that, indeed, Kelly had changed over the years. They appeared to concede something that I doubt Kelly himself would concede: that he was indeed once a bad man who did bad things, but that he was now a reputable person, a peacemaker. The evidence of this was that he had brought the IRA into the peace process and helped make Northern Ireland a better place for all of us. “Hardly a qualification for sainthood,” said the judge. Kelly might have had all sorts of reasons for bringing the IRA into the peace process, including the realisation that his past terrorism was failing. It didn’t mean that he was a better person. Sinn Fein MLA who unsuccessfully sued two journalists to ask PSNI why it is trying to silence journalists Policing Board seeks urgent meeting with PSNI over journalist surveillance Gerry Kelly libel case against Ruth Dudley Edwards struck out in another financial blow to SF MLA In the past week, Kelly has been getting a drubbing on social media because he was to meet Chief Constable Jon Boutcher to protest against police monitoring of the phone calls of journalists. Many were sneering at this paradoxical behaviour of someone who had himself been harassing journalists with unsustainable defamation writs. Who was he to be criticising the police for imposing a much lesser jeopardy on journalists? I agree with this point. But I feel uncomfortable about the story of my experience with Kelly being used to undermine criticism of the PSNI for spying on journalists. That journalism is not a crime is a lesson that has to be learnt as clearly by Gerry Kelly as by the Chief Constable. Still, Kelly has brought this derision on himself. A consequence of the superb and eloquent ruling of Master Bell that Kelly, unlike John Profumo in his later years, has no moral compass will echo down the years. The case was referred to again in a recent article in the Irish Times about Ireland’s demotion in the ranks of countries which allow press freedom. The paper reported that Ireland had dropped from second to eighth place in an annual global index of press freedom published by Reporters Without Borders. Ireland is now regarded as a jurisdiction “where politicians have subjected media outlets to judicial intimidation”. My case was outside that jurisdiction but was included in the story to illustrate how many of these cases similarly arise from within Sinn Fein. This is some achievement for the party that proclaims a concern for human rights. It has tarnished Ireland’s reputation as a healthy democracy. What we are seeing here is a failure by both Sinn Fein and Kelly himself to see themselves as others see them. The feeling about Gerry Kelly when he presumes to lecture the police about the rights of journalists is that he somehow just doesn’t get how paradoxical that is; that he just doesn’t have any sense of irony, either to see it in the conduct of others or to anticipate how others might see it in him. But Kelly isn’t alone in this. He exemplifies the blinkered vision of core republicans and their inability to comprehend how others disdain their past and their cultish, on-message discipline. For them, of course, the ideology is self-evident truth and the IRA campaign was an inevitable, just and even noble response to oppression. Michelle O’Neill says we empathise with Palestinians here because we too suffered as they did. Well, some among us did, but I couldn’t claim, with a straight face, talking to a mother sitting in the rubble of Gaza, that my life has more in common with hers than, say, a London taxi driver has. I do have something in common with the Jew who gets called to account for the actions of the IDF, for I was often patronised in England by people who assumed I was an IRA supporter. In Carál Ní Chuilín’s humility before the UK Covid-19 Inquiry we saw something extraordinary, though — a former IRA militant accepting that she had done wrong in attending the funeral of Bobby Storey, the one Gerry Adams called the crann mór, the big tree. She had insulted us by putting the opportunity to honour Storey above sympathy for those who could not honour their dead. But she gets that. She empathised — and the power of the impact of that was accentuated by the rarity of republicans accepting criticism. Is Ní Chuilín’s way the future and Kelly’s the past? It seems almost too much to hope for.
