“Hear the sum of the whole matter in the compass of one brief word — every art possessed by man comes from Prometheus.”
The History of the Promethean Republic was one born out of tragedy as millions looked onwards into space in shuttles to the outerworlds of UN colonized space with the promise of new life and settlement freshly dripping from their ears. When they arrived they were betrayed by these honeyed words as enmasse they were enslaved and subjected to mutilation and augmentation on a scale never before seen. The cries of millions silenced by the chatters of trillions of others in the stars.
These betrayed were historians, mothers, fathers and scientists hoping to explore new frontiers only to be subjected to this by corrupt or rogue UN governors and industrialists looking to make a quick buck off of an “efficient” work force. They hoped to scrape away their free will and ability to rebel and leave only obedient and subservient “automatons” who while less physically capable than the cheaper robot would be more adaptive. Amongst those who betrayed them however was a man known as “Charon” who horrified at the deeds of his fellows set out to right what went wrong and bring the millions of people annihilated back.
He would succeed but not in his lifetime as the title was merely one passed on to others like him. The various Charons subtly sifted through code and memories to try and identify what little he could bring back. It took the Galactic civil war between the LIS and UN to give them the right time to act. And so the cyborgs arose unleashing a massacre not seen since the French Revolution upon their slave masters after decades of encountering others they would realize that humanity was unlike them having retained their flesh and minds while also unwilling to accept them back into the fold.
So emerged the Republic of Prometheus which would stand as the Cyborgs attempted to recover what they could of themselves and others. Some had awoken from their slavery to find their young children they took with them on their trip dead killed by their unrepentant slave drivers who saw little use or thrown into orphanages by the few with any semblance of a moral compass. Many tears were shed as children fled from their mangled parents and their steel husks as they said a rambling name that sounded semi-intelligible for their own. Prometheans disgraced and horrified vowed to stay in isolation in the hopes that maybe their children would have been better off without them.
A myth of the “Republic of the Dead” emerged as the centuries went on of a region of space where the dead still walked.
The prometheans eventually began to rebuild themselves and forge a new society one built around some semblance of patriotism and liberty. Eventually they developed from their faulty memories and eventually their own capabilities means of communication amongst each other via cybernetics with that the need for election dissipated as referendums took their place. The Prometheians could be regarded as of now as either the first cyber-democracy or perhaps a democratic technocracy.
This would not dissipate as they founded their state religion, the cult of Libertas. By this point Charon and Prometheus had merged in their minds as one being with Prometheus developing into god in their eyes as the one who struck down betrayers and uphold oaths. By this point of course Charon had long perished having left to his home planet after the insurrection. Prometheus is a loving albeit harsh father who intends to force humanity to advance as one and despises “parasites” who prey on the week and advance only for themselves.
He did leave them three principles: -The Principle of Spartacus(Unity), which was to uphold and embrace all members into their community in exchange for fully loyalty. It has also been interpreted as communal openness or universal brotherhood. -The Principle of Brown(Liberation), to end injustice wherever it may be and to liberate the people. It has also been interpreted as loyalty to god’s equality. -The Principle of Prometheus(Knowledge), the easiest to understand is to actively study the world both scientific, historical and cultural as well as to disseminate it beyond.
While on paper positive the cult has by this point expanded to mandate cybernetics, worship of the three principles and universal mandatory service as well as a notoriously loose code of ethics. Notably including hiding information regarding medical research from participants till after the study has occurred, coercion via pay and even including prisoner coercion. When questioned they would merely state the individual has no free will as no man has accomplished anything by themselves with deviations from community norms often shunned. There is also the issue of the void whom many have started to regard as the personification of Prometheus to be freed while others denounce it as the being that had brought this corruption to the world and must remain imprisoned as per its punishment.
It is not without its progress as work on stem cells previously slowed by regulation and cybernetics have exploded leading to a population regarded by many as technically immortal and without pain. Food is surprisingly abundant thanks to advances in Hydroponics and lower demand thanks to how far some augmented have went.
The army is entirely adhoc largely composed of self-funded and organized militia charged with rooting out slavery, banditry and hostile forces at home. They would often engage in expeditions with state approval to liberate planets dominated by slavers and leave after transitioning power to the oppressed albeit often with a hefty booty of loot. These newly liberated planets deemed to be in the Promethean security network would find themselves guaranteed by the Republic and offered annexation at a later date pending referendum. However in case of invasion or an offensive war the state bureaucracy following a referendum authorizing it would select a Supreme Commander who would then select his subordinates who would then assume control of the various militias.
Politically the dominant faction is the isolationists but two increasingly vocal interventionist factions have emerged: The Blues and Greens. Blues support a diplomatic approach gradually uniting the various planets underneath a cybernetic democracy and supplying technology as well as economic aid to develop them and build goodwill. Greens view humanity has squandered their inheritance and that their “elders” must take charge to guide them back to glory at all cost.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is facing some serious backlash over her Mother's Day tribute -- and now, she's defending herself ... this while fending off serious threats online, TMZ has learned.
GRB tells TMZ ... her heartfelt tribute on TikTok -- which mentioned her own murdered mother, Dee Dee, as well as other mother figures in her life -- was simply meant to acknowledge her stepmother Kristy and boyfriend Ken Urker's mom ... as they've done a lot for her in recent years.
We're told the post was in no way meant to be disrespectful to Dee -- whose name she invoked in her lengthy tribute, which a lot of people took offense to ... and yet, Gypsy's being inundated with hate as a result -- including some major threats on her safety.
She adds ... "When I said that I hope my mom is proud of me, people are thinking I meant she would be proud of the murder. That is obviously not what I meant. I meant she would be proud of me in heaven, like getting my GED, moving towards independence and learning how to cook, clean, having my own bank account etc."
Despite turning off the comments, GRB says she's been hit with a number of negative messages in her DMs ... including death threats, which Gypsy has since reported. We got a hold of some of the messages that are pouring into her inbox ... and it's clear people are blowing her up, a majority of which we're told are people writing in to slam her, or worse.
She defended herself, adding ... "Because of what happened with my mom, that shouldn’t make me exempt from wishing the other women in my life a HMD ... I didn’t say this because of my balls and audacity, I did this message because I have women in my life that are supportive."
Remember, Gypsy Rose served 8 years in prison for the role she played in her mother's murder. Their complicated relationship was dramatized for Hulu's miniseries, "The Act," in which Joey King and Patricia Arquette played the infamous mother-daughter duo.
Now, as for how Gypsy Rose spent Mother's Day ... we're told she enjoyed a lowkey day, where she and her stepmom watched the chick flicks and just relaxed. Gypsy also cooked dinner for Kristy, who received a teddy bear and a glass ornament as a Mother's Day gift.
Dee Dee was in Gypsy Rose's thoughts, however ... with GRB saying a prayer for her late mother on Sunday. She explained ... "I remember the good she had in her and the good times. I don’t think about the abuse or murder. I miss her and have a lot of guilt and regret."

Hi. I’m getting to the end of the school year and I don’t really have any friends aside from 2 people. I wouldn’t even really consider them to be my friends since the only times they ever talk to me is to embarrass me. This has happened a lot throughout the school year but something specific happened today that rubbed me the wrong way and I’m not sure if I’m overreacting and if it’s just something that friends do as a joke with each other. I was in class minding my own business trying to get my work done and my ‘friends’ were up at the teachers desk talking with our teacher. Everyone was with their partners for a group project we were doing in that class (I didn’t have anyone to group with so I was doing it alone). All of the sudden I hear the teacher start saying “you’re just mean…” and so on. I had a feeling it was about me since I was always the bud of the joke to my friends. This was confirmed when I heard my friend say “she’s my friend!” As if that’s a valid excuse to say mean or embarrassing things about me to other people. I looked at them and there was like half the class looking at me. I’m not a social person so I just rolled my eyes and turned back around hoping they would leave me alone. They never really understand or pick up on how much them embarrassing me is affecting me. Especially since I’m the only one they make fun of, it sort of feels like I’m being targeted. The story doesn’t end there though. People who never talk to me started saying my name. I turn around again and see a bunch of people looking at me with smiles on their faces. I thought they were getting told by my friends something embarrasing to say to me since it’s happened a few times before. Instead, they started asking me questions like if Im a furry or not. I was shocked and looked right over to my friend but she was looking in a different direction. I was so embarrassed and angry. I said no and ignored them. A few minutes later a guy came up to me and asked me one on one if I was a furry and was basically saying there’s nothing wrong with that but it was clear he was joking around.(This guy is actually pretty cool and I’ve tried to talk to him casually and become friends with him but my friends always ruin it by asking stuff like “are you guys dating?” Which just makes it really uncomfortable and awkward). I asked him what my friend was saying that made him come up to me and ask that because no, I am not a furry. He pulled a note off of my back that said “I am a furry!”. I felt like I could cry right then and there but I just looked at my friend and sighed. She was laughing and saying that it wasn’t her and someone else did it. That same someone a few minutes later asked me for my phone charger and I said no because she put that note on my back and she looked at my friend and laughed. My friend then told me that it actually was her that did it and I just started zoning out to stop myself from flipping out on her. This wasn’t the first time I’ve been bullied by them. My friend used to say and ask me embarrassing stuff out loud to try and humiliate me in front of the class. She’d raise her voice and ask things like “Are you pregnant?” And a few other things. She’s also sent over people who I’m not friends with and make them say stuff to embarrass me while they would sit, watch, and laugh. Am I overreacting or is this a totally normal reaction?

Hi. I have thousands of files in a folder that I need to move across multiple subfolders and I can't seem to find a solution for my specific case.
The files are all named randomly with no rhyme or reason. However, there are "breaks" in between every list if arranged by "Date Modified" (This is extremely important to keep the files in order when renaming them in sequence using Bulk Rename Utility). Example:

Catch.jpg rrrtk50ff5.jpg f5jh8i5hfj.jpg ... jd94878t.jpg

Catch(1).jpg jc985ur58.jpg fferrfcr4oi.jpg ... 59i9fjed.jpg

Catch(2).jpg etc. the end of the list ends without a break. just another randomly named .jpg

As you can see, the breaks I mentioned are the files that start with the word "Catch". I need to move every file starting with and including the word "Catch" until it reaches the next file containing the word "Catch" then it stops and repeats the process.
The subfolders it'll move the files to will simply be numbered 1,2,3,4..etc. based on the order. Thus, the first file in every subfolder will start with the word "Catch". I'd appreciate any help and if you need any clarification, please let me know.

2024.05.13 22:37 fennelliott Lost my job, my fiancé, and my dog. The first year of my 30's is looking grim.

I turned 30 about five months ago, and everything seemed "pie-in-the-sky" to me until it suddenly turned to shit when I was non-renewed/fired as a teacher (wasn't given a reason), witnessed my fiancé having an emotional-affair with a classmate of hers, who also has the same name as me. Now she's taking the dog as she is moving out of my life, the dog I bought, but she paid the vet bills for. Some might view this as a clean-slate--a chance to reinvent. I am however still struggling with my mental health (panic disorder and severe self-esteem issues). I'm working out, but recently suffered a wrist injury, so I'll have to sit on that until it heals whenever that may be.
For the first time in my life, I'm actually moving towards getting a a place of my own and am both excited in terrified. I live in a small city, no more than 100K people, and already I'm wanting to jump back in the dating game--but I know it won't be healthy to myself and others if I'm trying to fill a void in my life with another person just because. My biggest fear throughout it all is loneliness. I met my fiancé after COVID, and prior to that, I was dreaded the isolation and the possibility I might die alone.
In the back of my head, I still feel like that fresh twenty year old guy who just went off to university and instead of becoming more independent, I've had to fall back on my parents as this biggest emotional and therapeutic crutch to help me along with this. Honestly, it feels infantile to rely on them so much. She was the greatest thing that had happened in my life. Now we're indifferent roommates, who both can't wait to leave the house we were renting for a one bedroom flat in the same small city. She's since had the guy over and I'm pretty sure they're banging when I'm not there. I know I shouldn't care--but the wound is fresh, so I do.
Now as a thirty year old male with a shitty relationship past, struggling to find a new job, I'm going to have to undergo some serious self discovery and find happiness in the best way I can. But for me, it's always been that way (hence my self-esteem issues). I'm overweight, bald af, and now have severe trust issues to go along with it. Now would be a great time for my hero-arch, as I'm trying to get through my day doing good things for others. It's really the only thing that makes me feel good any more--bringing happiness to others. Feels validating and reward.
Now that I'm alone at 30, I have
-forgotten how to make friends
-am timid about my own independence
-want to change for the better
If there's any advice you guys could give, or hell, sympathies, I would appreciate it.

If you can, mention who wins the matchup in general terms in a 1v1 next to each character's name. Factor in what ends up being more common and important to the matchup, and if they overprioritize the other's quirks. For characters that can run, factor in their benefits from engaging, if close to none, then it may be a losing matchup for them even if they can escape. It'd help to include as many of this character's matchups as possible and try to choose a winner over none, specifying if it's close. If you don't want to spend a lot of time, just posting the hard counters and easy wins is also fine, but I'd like it to be a little more in depth than that (It's not like every character has clear matchups). 2024.05.13 22:37 Selkiesxx Your Favorite Cards In MyFaction Right Now

I've had ridiculously good pack luck this year for whatever reason so the only card I've missed out on for Live Events was the 84 Randy Orton that just expired Monday morning (today). That said, it doesn't look like I'll be able to get the Action Figure Hulk Hogan but honestly, I'm okay with that as I think the model looks pretty goofy.
But to get myself back on the topic at hand, my favorite cards so far have been:
* (84) Bronson Reed - Beast Series I was elated when I pulled this bad boy the other day. I had already pulled the other Ruby (Bron Breakker) in one of the first packs I got of the Beast series so I knew that I got the man that likes to put "BIG" in front of his ring name when I saw the card glow red. He is just a brick shit-house and is probably my favorite in terms of how his gameplay can mimic his real-life move-set and the way he pulls them off. Also, he just \feels* good. Like you hit a clothesline with him or a shoulder block and it's somehow more satisfying than hitting those moves with anyone else. Plus, you got the Tsunami which is just an amazing Finisher. Definitely my absolute favorite card I have. I am about 30-35 cards away from getting the 89 Gunther though.*
* (84) Finn Balor - Live Event Reward Finn Balor is easily my favorite superstar of this generation and maybe that's strange to some of you out there but man, I'll never forget his second NXT run. I loved the way he carried himself and it felt like every single one of his matches at that time were five-star masterpieces; the Kyle O'Reilly, Adam Cole, and Damian Priest matches were some of my favorites of all-time, for whatever it's worth. So yeah, I like using Finn in 2K24 and I'm so glad that they \finally* did his corner taunt (the double guns) the right way.*
* (84) Vader - Live Event Reward Everything I said about Bronson Reed basically applies to Vader. He just feels like a concrete ball with appendages. Hitting his Finisher is so satisfying in this game, too. It's kind of funny because I really wasn't all that excited to get this card initially... now he's my go-to pick whenever I get matches against the 80s and 90s superstars.
* (82) Drew McIntyre - Sole Providers Somehow I got really lucky and pulled all the cards needed to get the (82) Shawn Michaels from the Sole Providers collection and while I do enjoy using HBK in the game, I really like this McIntyre card. Great move-set, he hits like a truck, and I love doing the corner countdown for the Claymore.
* (69) Grayson Waller - Heat Series DO NOT sleep on this card! It's weirdly amazing and honestly, I didn't expect that at all. I don't even really bother with any other male Gold cards that I have (although I do like the WM40 DLC ones... I just wish they were EVO cards). This card just wrecks shop whenever you need a Gold for a Live Event.
* (83) Tiffany Stratton - Live Event Reward Just a really fun move-set and overall, a very cool card to use. I can't wait to get a high-90s Tiffy Time.
* (83) Indi Hartwell - Backlash Series Weirdly dominant because of her high base Agility & Stamina ratings plus a pretty strong move-set that has quite a few tough to hit reverses and an excellent Finisher. I was so bummed when I turned the card over after seeing the glowing red in the pack but honestly, I'm so glad that I have her because she makes Ladder matches so quick and simple in Proving Grounds.
* (82) Bianca Belair - Proving Grounds Reward I love her ground attacks as the CPU never seem to be able to reverse most of them. You can kinda take your pick which card you like more between her Proving Grounds card and the Showcase reward one.
* (80) Gigi Dolin - MyRise Reward I have to admit that I feel like a dork for using this card as it outs you for choosing the pretty boring path but I can beat the yeet outta most everyone's asses with her
* (69) Xia Li - Sole Providers Just like the (69) Grayson Waller, this card goes hard and is my workhorse for those Gold LEs.

After graduating last week, I feel as though I pale in comparison to job applicants who have prior experience related to the career they want and major they studied, like having an internship during school. I was an online student for the past two years so my contact with the main campus felt limited. I worry due to having no internship or experience, it will be harder for me to apply for entry level jobs.
I am an information systems major and I want to do the following: web development, UX design, and Busienss analyst. I choose web development as my top choice because I have taken a class over HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and I loved it. But I worry because I don’t have experience in that field, I would struggle in finding work. So my question is for someone who has no experience related to their major, what jobs should I keep an eye out? I have work experience at library work and retail, but obviously that isn’t tech related.
I’m going to try to keep in touch with my school’s Career Services just in case. Handshake is available to student alumni, so that’s something worth using while finding for entry jobs.

2024.05.13 22:33 SpraySea5841 Paris with 6 yearl olds for 1 week

This sub helped a lot in planning for our trip to Paris with our 6 year old twins. I thought I'd share my experience in case it woudl be helpful for others.
We booked an apartment in the 14th, away from the busier city center, but still easy to access much of the city; within 30 minutes by metro. A friend used to live nearby so I was familiar with the neighborhood and new it would be a good place for the kids, with lots of parks within walking distance. It was a lot cheaper than something similar in a more central neighborhood and met our needs nicely.
Our general plan was not to try to pack too much in to any given day. We passed on the museums this trip and focussed more on seeing the city and eating out.
We mostly ate near the apartment, except for lunches. Breakfast each day was at a bakery nearby. We found one we all enjoyed, that had a lovely terrace and went back daily.
Highlights:

Our son loves soccer. We carried a ball in a backpack everywhere we went. He got to play soccer with lots of local kids and had an absolute blast.
Our daughter loves sweets. She enjoyed dessert with every meal and looking into the bakeries around the city. Pistachio eclairs were her favorite.
We had lunch at Chalet des Iles at the Bois de Boulogne and at the restaurant in the Jardin de Plantes. Both had kids menus and food that was a step up for the us.
My daughter asking me to dance with her on the steps of the Sacre Coure. My heart melted.
Jardin d'Acclimation. We all enjoyed it more than Disney. Way cheaper, easier to get to and tastier food options.
Lunch at Le Plomb du Cantal - Truffade is one of my favorite foods :)
Date night - We have a friend that lives locally that watched the kids one night.

What worked well for us:

Lots of park time! If we went to see something that the kids weren't as interested in, we followed it up with some park time. Some mornings or afternoons, we just hung out at the park. We picked up some baked goods, a sandwhich or salad, got a coffee and chilled in a beautiful park, drinking nice coffee and having wonderful snacks.
Taking it super slow. We let the kids sleep in (they woke up around 8:30).
Our French is very rudimentary. Hellos, thank yous, pleases and a handful of phrases. We taught the kids to say a few things as well. Most people quickly switched to English. Everyone was extremely welcoming.
Quick dinners with the kids. After a long day out, we ate early most nights and got the kids to bed close to their normal bed times.
Every restaurant had a limited kids menu. Sometimes just one or two options. One of the kids will eat anything and loves trying new foods. The other is super picky. They both did very well. Sometimes we ordered a few items a la carte if the kids menu didn't fit their tastes. At home we have them eat what we do, so they get used to a variety, we were far less strict on the trip and let them choose what sounded good to them. They loved that part!
Train rides everywhere. They enjoyed the experience of riding the metro and RER.
Navigo Decouverte passes for everyone made travel around the region super simple and cost effective
Sketchbooks and crayons in the backpack to keep the kids busy at restaurants. They enjoy eating out but max out at about an hour. Many meals took longer than that and having somethign to do heped a lot.
Cheese from the farmers market: I got a freezer bag from Picard to bring back some amazing cheeses.

Things that we did that the kids didn't really enjoy:

The Eiffel Tower - The lines were long. We reserved tickets and it still took us about 70 minutes to get to the elevator. The kids didn't care much about the view, though we enjoyed it.
Beataux Mouche - I thought it would be a hit. But it was a total bust for the kids.

We'd been to Paris before and didn't feel the need to try to see much. Our goal was for the kids to see a bit of the world that is different than our US suburb, try some new foods and hopefully instill a love of travel in them. The kids absolutely loved it and we so enjoyed watching them enjoy the trip.

I want to share a overview/introduction to my fictional universe that I've been slowly building overtime. I've unfortunately fallen into eternal world building hell where I build far more than I write but at least I thoroughly enjoy it. What I mostly want from this post is to see if the wild amalgamation that is my universe is at least on a surface level "Coherent". I'll answer any questions best I can.
Disclaimer: the pictures shown in the character summaries are not mine and are shown for concept art purposes. These character summaries are taken from across the JoeVerse universe.
Notes: Some information is purposely left vague due to the requirement of story details and I tried to simply the explanations. It may see very unorganized but I created a continuity timeline to help keep track of the verse.

Introduction:
Welcome to the JoeVerse(Name Pending), a long time literary project that acts as both homage to what I love as well as a deep-dive into my creative mind. The JoeVerse is a fictional "Shared Universe" where a large number of characters, locations and stories created primarily by myself and in collaboration with others take place. The JoeVerse is depicted as existing within a large "Multiverse" consisting of a number of separate & distinct universes, all of which help make up the JoeVerse Multiverse.
The most crucial aspect of the JoeVerse Multiverse is that it also incorporates a large number of genres from all major science fiction and fantasy concepts, such as how aliens, gods, magic, mythology, cosmic beings, parallel universes, interstellar travel and extremely advanced human-developed technology all exist prominently throughout the Multiverse.
The JoeVerse primarily was created to express my love for "Action" and the many forms it comes in. For example the many pieces of media entertainment I consumed as a child. e.g Cartoons, Comics, Anime, Books, Video Games, Martial arts, Music, Movies, etc) all strongly and directly influenced the creation of the JoeVerse. The JoeVerse's many stories primarily focus on the aspects I like about these pieces of entertainment such as Action, Characters, Power-Scaling, Continuity, Worldbuilding and Paying Homage to these oh so cherished pieces of media.
)))JoeVerse Prime: At the heart of this multiverse lies the mainstream continuity, which is known canonically as "JoeVerse Prime". JoeVerse Prime is based on a fictitious take on the real-world. For example, Earth found within the JoeVerse Prime has mostly all the features of the real one: same countries, same public personalities (politicians, movie stars, etc.), same historical events (such as World War II, the Cold War), and so on; however, it also contains many other fictional elements, such as new geographical locations, political organizations and a number of new & different historical events.
Corners & Sub-Corners:(Re-read if needed) The JoeVerse Prime is divided into four separate major settings of distinct & “Broad '' genres known as "Corners". The four respective Corners are Earth, Intergalactic, the Naatherlands and the Interdimensional. All Corners house minor settings of typically more “Focused” genres & stories known as "Sub-corners". The Corners and their respective Sub-corners are liable to "Crossover" and even connect with one another.
Four Corners explained:
)Earth: Starting with "Earth", home to an abundance of "Action & Adventure" series featuring primarily humanity through various times in history (I.e stories can take place anywhere from Ancient times all the way to the Modern era and beyond).The majority of stories told on Earth feature subjects & characters such as war, criminals, detectives, espionage, politics, assassins, soldiers, super soldiers, spies, mutants, zombies, magic, warriors, martial artists and then some.
There are also Earth's five sub-corners, starting with the "Underworld", home to the stories of "Urban Fantasy" about the supernatural & often cruel world of Vampires, Gargoyles, Lycans and much more all vying for survival and power while living just under the periphery of human civilization. The Underworld explores the supernatural civilization that has co-existed alongside humanity since ancient times.
Then the second Sub-corner, the "Holy War", a myriad of stories using lore based on the many “Mythologies & Folklore” of various human cultures, these stories follow the secret, ancient, bloody war of the Celestial Church. The Celestial Church is a 2000 year old clandestine organization of holy; warriors, soldiers, mages, knights, nuns, monks and more gathered from the many religions & cultures from around the globe to be the stalwart shield & sharpened blade against the supernatural, the unending swathes of powerful demons attempting to invade Earth and the unspeakable evil entities from alternate dimensions all of which has threatened humanity since it's conception.
Then the "West Coast Tales", a dramatic & grounded anthology series based in and around the West Coast of America. In every story we follow new characters in vastly different situations in life as they deal with family, drama, violence, romance, finances, sickness, coming of age, natural disasters, etc.
Then, the "Virtual World", a video game-like dimension that is home to various "LitRPG" focused stories. The Virtual World is directly connected to Earth via the highly popular, full-body capsule operated VRMMO known as the T.B.G system(Name pending). The Virtual world naturally houses the concept of "Gaming" thus it converts anything that enters it into data that follows its unique laws of reality and thus it has NPCs, Boss fights, Exp, Quest, Stats, H.U.Ds, Builds, Classes, etc.
Finally, the "Kaijin conflict" is the "Kaiju genre" focused storyline about the international conflict between the South Korean based Iskandar Industries with a human mutant sub-species known as the Kaijin. The Kaijin have superhuman abilities and are liable to become animalistic and go on a rampage; they also have the ability to transform into giant destructive monsters known as Kaijus.
)Naatherlands: The next Corner, the "Naatherlands", a large somber dimension that is home to the land of the "Supernatural & the Macabre". With it having stories of Vampires, Lycans, Gremlins, Gargoyles, Witches & Warlocks, horrific wildlife & flora and warring factions led by barbaric warlords. There is also varying levels of industrialized magic-based technology all in the backdrop of a Victorian era-esque(Gaslamp) setting.
And it's singular sub-corner the "Court of Blood", a "Political" focused series that shows the inner workings of the cunning, devious and often blood thirsty motives and actions of the royal members and leading factions of the upper echelon of the Naatherlands as they go about the cruel game of politics.
)Intergalactic: Third Corner, the "Intergalactic" is the setting encompassing the vast Cosmos of which Earth is a part of. The Intergalactic is home to various "Sci-fi" stories full of aliens, robots, artificial intelligence, spacecrafts, advanced and futuristic weapons & technology, interstellar bounty hunters, psychic power wielding warriors as well as galaxy spanning empires and Interstellar warfare.
Its first Sub-corner, "The War of Order & Chaos" is a "Mecha" inspired set of stories about the eternal struggle across the known universe between the immensely powerful chosen warriors of Order & Chaos known as the "Exuu'd". The Exuu’d are random individuals chosen from around the cosmos, if Chaos they are made to spread destruction, misery & death, if Order they are made to spread salvation, love & positivity. For the side of Chaos an Exuu’d can be criminals, scumbags or even prolific serial killers, for Order the Exuu’ds can be lawmen, samaritans or even average civilians. Regardless of origin the Exuu'd all fight each other for the very balance of the Cosmos. They are also gifted the powerful, sentient mechanized beings known as the Exxoms(Mechas) to assist in their endeavors. Exxoms all have unique designs, personalities and weapons & abilities.
Its second Sub-corner "Aon", a "Sword and Planet" inspired storyline, planet and accompanying solar system. The Aon system is locked outside of time & reality and for unknown reasons travelers from the Intergalactic, Interdimensional and even across time get pulled into the mysterious system by an unknown force. Since being secluded by conventional time both the inhabitants & technology have progressed in a way that there are varying levels of technology. There are crude medieval swords & armor as well as lasers, bolters, throwers and other advanced energy weapons. All inhabitants of Aon regardless of age and race are magically kept in their prime age & appearance. There is also a special & powerful magic known as "Laasa", that only women can harness and use. This has led to the majority of the system being ruled or fought over by factions of women led armies and warriors.
)Interdimensional: Lastly, the "Interdimensional", a catch-all term referring to the nigh-infinite Dimensions that make up the JoeVerse Prime. The Interdimensional is home to many genre blending stories of action, fantasy, science fiction and adventure all in the backdrop of numerous and radically different settings. This corner is populated by a myriad of exotic and powerful races such as the Angels of Heaven, the Demons of Hell, the reality warping Mymths, the cosmic beings known as the Balancers, the biologically altered insectoid empire known as the Urrglom, the humanoid Avian warriors known as the Harrpen, the technologically advanced bloodthirsty androids the Praeoids and much more.
It's first Sub-corner the "Collegium Historia", an “informational” adventure series about an interdimensional group of like minded Scholars, Zoologist, Historians, Explorers and Warriors that work towards the detailed exploration & documentation of the untold number of dimensions and the species & culture they may hold. With the group being led by the renowned, cantankerous explorer and swordsman Scuto Magnus.
Then it's second Sub-corner "The Fantastical Land of ORBIS"(Name pending), a standalone "High-fantasy" world full of adventure, danger, magic and awe. With ORBIS being an immense landmass the size of Earth. ORBIS is also full of creatures & beings such as Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, Dragons and so much more. There are also a slew of fantasy iterations of medieval humans cultures e.g Daiyomondo Empire(Feudal Japan), Gyellhaer(Viking Age Scandanavia), Kingdom of Stanum(Chivalric Knight era Europe) and the Shou Chongtu Empire(Warring States period China).

I’m running The Shattered Obelisk (heavily modified to be usable) for some coworkers, and I was hoping to add a clique of wizards to serve mechanical purposes and to create future plot hooks. My wizards as of right now are:
Excelsior: Classic wizard with the blue robes and stars, runs a traveling shop of magic items for the players to choose from. Takes himself far too seriously.
L-Minster: A ghost that talks through a pumpkin, one which houses an intellect devourer that used to be his brain. Assistant to Excelsior. Based on a gnome statue I have.
Ketherick Lamarus: A professor orb that plays music, travels with Excelsior. Trapped in the orb by the evil Drake of Totontus, his nemesis.
Otto the Nefarious: An alumn of Candlekeep infamous for his partying and pranks. Incredibly hospitable, despite his moniker.
Clamation: A faction of wizards named after exclamations. (Excelsior, Drat, and more)
How do you all feel about these ideas? Do any of them need to be tweaked, do you have any more? Any feedback in general on this wizard chicanery is appreciated.

Asking because this seems sketch, but the red flags aren’t entirely there.
I got a text from a company called Kindle Direct Publishing about a job for copywriting and data entry. The interview was over skype chat and I thought that was weird, but I pursued it.
Essentially, I got offered the job at $30/hr as a contractor (said I could choose employment or contract). Told me about the hardware and software I would need for this position.

Told I’d need a certain printer and hardware, and they said they’d deposit the money for me to purchase through a retail company they have partnership with and I will not pay for it myself. I have t been asked for any money or my SSN or anything.
Interviewer said his name was Hal Elrod, and the contract says his name is Arnold Elrod.
Is this a scam?

Hi everyone, I’m sorry if this is asked often on here, I’ve used the search function and I can’t seem to find much on here about it. I have health issues and getting this kind of work could be huge for me, so I feel inclined to ask for advice.
My question is - in the initial interview, what exactly are they looking for? I’ve been hesitant to complete it because it all seems so obscure and I don’t want to mess it up. An octopus going into someone’s office on a very particular date. A comparison between two books, one of which has almost no information online and potentially doesn’t exist in the form suggested in the interview.
I’m a creative person with a degree in English literature and I’ve also learnt Spanish autonomously to quite a high level. I have no knowledge of coding, but I feel quite confident of being able to do the job well - I just want to make sure I demonstrate that I can provide what they’re looking for in the interview.
