2024.05.13 02:35 CoJack-ish Assuming you’re playing straights, which has better value: adding one to hand size, or picking up a Four Fingers?

Let’s say that you’ve built up and committed to a straight build. In a shop you come across a Juggler Joker and a Four Fingers. You can only afford one of them. Let’s also assume that you expect neither of these cards to interact with other jokers, considering only their individual effects. Which is the better choice?
One the one hand, more hand size gives more discards to fish for card enhancements and seals. Gold, tarot and planet generation lets you accelerate deck manipulation further.
On the other, Four Fingers lets you have much earlier access to straight flushes, providing a clear path forward with less deck manipulation needed. However, it also adds the extra risk of totally faceplanting on draws.
But even if you wanted to transition to straight flushes, wouldn’t taking advantage of more card effects also get you there faster? Both in terms of bridging antes with enhancements and resource generation, and with the added benefit of having more money to spend on other stuff.
I’m not smart enough to know the math for this sort of stuff. I’m just curious what other people think. Basically, I’m wondering why Juggler Joker is a common while Four Fingers is uncommon.

Some face practice. Which one is your favourite?
I like the mob boss looking dude the most.
I thought open mouths are hard, and then comes... Hair. Gah! Well, at least I started to learn how to draw hair. Changed the Joker's hair from my last post to match the others.
I still struggle to shade to match the face contours. I know they're there, but I don't know how to shade them without making the faces look old.
References are 3rd picture onwards. All advice and critique welcome.

2024.05.12 01:23 412gage OFC w/ Jokers

Hi all,
I regularly play OFC Pineapple with the jokers on Pokerrrrr2 and was wondering if there was an optimal strategy to go by. I realize that, due to the number of possible combinations of hands and the amount of draws, the game is likely unable to be solved. However, an winning strategy has to have been discovered by now, right? I’ve tried searching for information on this but it’s kind of hard to find and it usually doesn’t include joker variants. Any help is appreciated.

Persona 2 tattoo ideas
Hoping a few in here may be able to help me out a bit. Wanting to get a tattoo for something Persona 2 related but drawing a complete blank on what exactly to get. I want to avoid characters/personas ideally.
Initially I thought about something like an arrangement of the flowers that Joker leaves in IS but I think I'll save a flower piece for Nier if anything.

2024.05.11 20:33 manboat31415 Recently beat Jokerless. Made a two axis chart of difficulty vs fun and my thoughts on the 20 challenges.

The chart
I recently completed all 20 challenges and I felt like writing down and sharing my thoughts on all of them. I (mostly) loved going through the challenges and wished that the game came with a way to apply them to runs with other decks/stakes after beating them. There are few that are just fun. There's also Golden Needle.
For most of the challenges how much fun I thought they were was dependent on how much I had to change the way I viewed decision making in hopefully what I think of as a positive way.
I've done the first ~5 challenges twice because I accidentally overwrote the wrong cloud save. The rest I beat once and moved on. There is a chance some of my difficulty rankings are super biased by unknowingly having had a really lucky first attempt. I don't really suspect that's the case, but good to keep in mind.
  1. The Omelette: Just a fun little idea for a challenge. I had no difficulty with this one. Creates interesting incentives for a few jokers (Swashbuckler goes CRAZY). Solid introduction into what challenges can do.
  2. 15 Minute City: I admit I had some trouble with this challenge the first few times I tried it. I also found white stake to be kinda hard at the time. Now though I just think of it as an eternal Ride the Bus start with -1 joker slot. Playing straights feels like a bit of a trap. Feels like you just need a little too much deck manipulation to really protect yourself from being forced to score a face card playing something other and High Card or Pair. Might be better now since I beat it before I started playing on the beta branch and Saturn is sort of the GOAT planet card now.
  3. Rich get Richer: I don't think this challenge changes my decision making basically at all. Even just $100 for max interest leaves you enough chips to easily beat Ante 8. That said it got my highest rank for fun just because line go up neuron activation is too powerful.
  4. On a Knife's Edge: I mostly just found this challenge tedious. As long as you're just a little locked in this challenge doesn't pose that much of a threat. Buy even cost jokers and feed them to the furnace. Getting an early Riff Raff will also typically remove the potential for being super late on banking max interest.
  5. X-ray Vision: If you are hellbent on playing 5-card hands and also refuse to swap between sorting by rank and suit to determine what a card is this challenge is probably nightmarishly hard. If you do do those things this challenge is just annoying. I appreciate that it can in theory teach people how to determine what cards are face down. It is not fun though. Having most of a hand be face down when opening packs just makes me mad.
  6. Mad World: Fundamentally changing how baseline income works is a little interesting. Playing for Flushes or Straights gives you a lot of cash. I want to say I got Oops! All 6s early on which just made me laugh.
  7. Luxury Tax: This challenge rewards playing a low econ run with +2 hand size. That's pretty strong. Vagabond clearly owns here. But sometimes being so poor can just randomly lead to you bleeding out. I love having a really big hand size so I rate this one highly for fun.
  8. Non-Perishable: This challenge made me really nervous going into it. Thinking I'd have to be very careful about what jokers I picked up. I ended up only taking 4 jokers by the time I won. It was basically just a white stakes run with some banned jokers (either because the challenge bans them or because choosing to by Riff-Raff is clearly so bad it's mentally banned).
  9. Medusa: Good for flavor (face cards all looked into Medusa's eyes and turned to stone). It's pretty boring though. Just get some good mult scaling and play high card with massive base chips because you're scoring 3+ stone cards every hand for most the run.
  10. Double or Nothing: I really like this challenge. Red seals are incredibly powerful. You can avoid the downside pretty much entirely by utilizing held in hand effects. I think I ended up playing with Shoot the Moon. It also lends itself to letting you just checkmating yourself really bad. Rely on scored card agnostic joker scaling or held in hand effects. I heard but haven't confirmed that you can remove the debuff by changing the enhancement. If someone confirms or denies this I'll edit. Edit: https://www.reddit.com/balatro/s/0Fjqgc1b21 comment in this thread states this is true.
  11. Typecast: This is basically how like half of my white stakes runs end up anyway. It's pretty easy to have found sufficient scaling to win on white stakes in the first like 2 rounds with a little luck. This and non-perishable just feel like non-challenges except that Madness suddenly becomes hilariously strong.
  12. Inflation: I'll admit I really didn't understand this challenge at first. It just felt like "fish for a run where your first 5 jokers win on there own or be too poor to play." I eventually saw a Temperance card that was giving me hella cash and it suddenly clicked that because sell price is 1/2 of buying price (rounded down) you can scale off of buying trash. I ultimately won with a combination of Swashbuckler Ceremonial Dagger and Riff-Raff (which suddenly becomes the best economy joker of all time). Ultimately I find the constraints of this challenge way too narrow to be fun.
  13. Bram Poker: I basically remember nothing about this challenge. It's basically just a vampire run where you end up with a really large deck so just build to play very simple hands. There are still enough ways to get jokers outside of the shop that you'll probably find a good enough +mult joker to let Vampire just win.
  14. Fragile: This challenge is super neat. There are a couple of very dominant strategies if you fully math out the minimum number of cards played that skipping all small and big blinds gives you. I didn't do that so I played around playing pairs while slowly scaling a 5-card hand in parallel. As I got closer to Ante 8 my deck was really starting to hurt so I started skipping more and more while safe in the knowledge that I was over killing the rounds I was playing. Then I get to the boss of Ante 8. I have like 18 total cards I play I think a flush and clear it by like 6x. Glass cards are really strong.
  15. Monolith: I am a very much an Obelisk enjoyer. In terms of fun value it's probably like top 5 jokers for me. I recommend playing a huge number of Pairs (aim for 3-4 per round) for antes 1-4 while getting the pieces to pivot to High Card as your deck becomes so over stuffed with stone cards it becomes difficult to play hands. Just be sure to watch your High Card count closely and any time you can get away with playing non-High Cards once you stop playing pairs do so. Last warning is you need to keep yourself locked in about playing throw away hands. If you play an ace and whatever chaff other chaff and that chaff say has a pair of 2s you will lose on the spot basically.
  16. Blast Off: When I first looked at the rules I was super excited for this challenge. I thought is was going to basically be Rich get Richer 2.0. This thing kicked my ass. I was not prepared for just how incredibly poor you're going to be. Building a bank is so hard when you need to be scaling Constellation you're only getting maybe $1 from remaining hands each round and you have only 2 joker slots you can put an economy joker into. Ante 2 and 3 killed just so many of my attempts. Past that though Rocket finally starts carrying your economy on it's own and the challenge becomes frankly awesome. It's designed around you getting to antes 7 and 8 with basically every hand scaled very heavily and you get to very fluid in what hands you choose to actually play.
  17. Five-Card Draw: -3 hand size is horrendous. Hand size both up and down have basically exponential affects on your run's power level. In compensation you're given so much power. 7 joker slots. Two non-eternal starting jokers that can solo clear the first couple antes. 6 discards making jokers like Banner and Delayed Gratification supremely powerful. Runs will fell very different than normal, but I don't think it's ultimately that hard as long as you can bring yourself to play something other than flushes or straights.
  18. Golden Needle: God I hated this challenge. No money from remaining hands. So little time to find the pieces to 1-tap the first like 6 rounds you play. 6 discards basically just there to taunt you because actually using them will leave you so poor scaling will be impossible. It's not the hardest challenge. I still find Jokerless harder, but I didn't find any part of it fun.
  19. Cruelty: Weirdly tame between it's name and the previous challenge. Getting your economy going is pretty difficult with losing both small and big blind payouts and essentially no room for an economy joker. Beating ante 8 with 3 jokers isn't hard in and of itself. You do it frankly all the time anyway if you hold on to 2 utility/economy jokers into the Ante 8 boss that you don't end up using. Getting to Ante 8 without those utility slots is definitely a lot harder. Particularly with so little cash. All in all it's a little less fun to me than just playing a regular run. It has a satisfying difficulty to it, but it really isn't doing all that much.
  20. Jokerless: I expected I was going to really enjoy Jokerless. It's such a radical restructuring of how the game works and that excited me. I did end up enjoying it a lot, but it needs a couple changes for it to be fun enough that I'll play it for it's own sake with any regularity. It's honestly hard for me to say just how much harder the challenge is because of presence of say Temperance and Blank Voucher, but I can definitely say that it makes the challenge A LOT more frustrating to me. In the same way that effects like making a player discard the top card of their deck are uniquely frustrating despite them not actually mattering very much (for every time you're forced to discard the best card in your deck off the top you more often times end up discarding cards that aren't the best and you're now more likely to draw your best card, you're best card is more likely to not be the next card than it is to be anywhere else in your deck so getting to it faster is actually good, but monkey brain mad at losing resources) seeing Hex and Ankh in a regular 2 card Spectral pack just makes me mad. Every time I see Blank Voucher I'd grit my teeth and shake my head because of it's total inability to do anything. That said if Blank Voucher was removed maybe I would have just seen Magic Trick and not have bought the voucher anyway. That said if the remaining vestigial forms of joker interactions that are wholly useless were removed and I could play any deck and any stake with the Jokerless rule set I would legitimately do it just for fun a lot.

Design Diary #2: Big setback in the name of the game and a refreshed set-up and gameplay
I'm writing up my design diaries and since I only got positive votes on my post, I figured I'd post them on this sub.
This is the second entry in my design diary. The first can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/tabletopgamedesign/comments/1bc840j/ive_written_up_my_journey_so_far_for_my_upcoming/

Diary Entry #2:

A lot has happened since March: I had a big setback with the name, and I completely changed the set-up of the game.
New Name
This was a bit of a setback. I found out my earlier name, is also the name of a series of graphic novels, which also made into a board game. I don’t want to compete with other brands with the same name, so even though it was a bit painful, I decided quickly cut ties with it. I am not mentioning the name here as I do not intend this post to be promotional.
New Game: Less Chaos, More Excitement!
From back to boring basics to a clean exciting experience
🥱 I ended the last post by explaining how I brought the game back to the basics. The basics worked, but the game become really BORING!
The game was much easier to play now, but I had to bring back the excitement players felt playing earlier versions of the game. By cutting out all the excess, I had also cut out all the player’s decisions. There was no feeling of autonomy any more, which caused the game to become boring.
🕺🏻Slowly, I added more and more new things to this basic setup. One example: Dream Guardians have special abilities. They were able to do these at all times, so they were not that special and not that strong. Now, I have added triggers which activate the special ability, and made them much more impactful. This change really contributed to the fun players experience by giving them a powerful winning feeling.
But also the setup and drawing actions could be further improved.
Why and how I changed the setup and drawing actions
Before I can explain what I changed, I have to explain how the game roughly works now.
Each player plays as a Dream Guardian: Courage, Hope, Resilience or Wisdom. They have to work together to defend Dreamland against Nightmares (previously named ‘Shadowmancers’). Nightmares try to turn Dreamland into a place of darkness.
👀 Super quick gameplay overview
The game is played with a standard 54-card deck, including Jokers, and revolves around the collaborative efforts of players to defeat Nightmares by reducing their Dark Health to zero. Players must achieve this before any of the Dream Guardians' Happiness Health is depleted.
Each player selects a Dream Guardian with unique abilities, and starts with a set of Starting Cards forming their initial deck.
https://preview.redd.it/rbve40hs8tzc1.png?width=1456&format=png&auto=webp&s=31e6fc151283017d5cc5550fdffad7bf95fa27a1
The game progresses through turns, each consisting of drawing a stronger card from the Dream Pool, while doing so encountering a Nightmare, defending against their Dark Thought attacks, and taking actions to heal fellow Dream Guardians, attack the Nightmares with Positive Vibes or heal Dreamland.
https://preview.redd.it/zwpssldu8tzc1.png?width=1456&format=png&auto=webp&s=86f6990494d2008affc9a9a7a9e810b83b895ea0
Victory is shared when all the Nightmares are defeated, bringing happiness and positivity back to Dreamland. Beware, the introduction of Chaos, a terrifying and strong Nightmare, intensifies the challenge, requiring strategic collaboration to overcome.
Old setup and drawing action
You now know what the latest setup is. What did it look like before? And how is it different? The main difference is in the way the Dream Pool, and thereby the encounters with the Nightmares, work. The Dream used to be one big deck of cards and you would open three cards. The active player would pick one of those three cards, open one card from the big deck and places it in its place. If it was a Nightmare, they’d have to place it in a different spot, and open up another card. As you can imagine, this is much less clear. It was also more random and allowing less tactical decisions. Also, there was a thrash pile for a thrash action which I completely removed, as it was adding to the complexity. These things add nothing to the experience, there are no meaning choices to be made, just extra cards to be placed in other places.
👎🏻 Not great. -- So I had to simplify it! 👍🏻
Old setup example:

2024.05.10 21:14 Smart_Bandicoot9609 I'd appreciate it if you could provide some feedback for these three short writing prompts.

1.He wasn’t used to seeing the chaple from this angle. The view from the last pew made it look larger but at the same time warmer and more agreeable. The pews in front of him were worn-out and the wooden floors and roof had begun to rot. Lighting was scant. No candles were lit and the moonlight didn’t reach through the dirt-stained windows.
This late into the night, most of the people were already gone. The only ones still present were a young lady, Ariadne, who had just lost her husband in the battle of Arras, Mr. Jackson the towns fishmonger who was praying for his son’s recovery from typhus and Lennie, the chapel's caretaker. But the priest, for the first time, wished that there were none. These people never did anything to him and as the town’s priest he knew well each and everyone of them. He knew their problems and used to advise and console them every Sunday after the sermon. He never wanted to hut them. But now it was too late to back up. The decision was made. The explosives were already laid out under the pews and the detonator was sitting beside him, hidden by his oversized vestment. Just like many able bodied men who didn’t join the front lines, he had learned how to make bombs and ammunitions to support the troops.
Two days ago, the doctors had told him that he wouldn't last the summer. The shadow in his lungs was worsening. Hearing the news his heart had sunk, turning his thoughts to God. To the God he had believed in his whole life and dedicated half of it. Even after the Great War broke out, he managed to keep his faith steady. He believed that God had a grand design, a reason for every sorrow. But he wasn’t so sure anymore. How could God betray him? Him who had done nothing but serve him for so many years? Did he really have a plan, or was it all a trick? He sat there silently, looking at the Bible, always in his hands, when suddenly, a creak broke the silence, drawing his attention to the temple's entrance.
There now stood Sister Margaret, the nun who tended the temple’sgardens. She approached the priest and asked
"Father Jonathan, are you alright?"
The priest looked at her briefly before turning back to the Bible.
"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you."
Sister Margaret examined him for a moment, but decided not to press him further. She took a small bouquet from the folds of her dress, which she had gathered from the garden earlier that day, and gave it to him.
"I think they will brighten the temple for tomorrow's service. They will bring a note of beauty and hope, casting away the sorrow and darkness of the past few days. What do you think?"
The priest took the flowers and touched their petals with his fingers, letting their sweet fragrance fill the air around him. Knowing what he intended to do, he suddenly felt a sense of guilt.
"Thank you," he whispered.
As the nun made a gentle nod and turned to leave, the priest's thoughts began to waver. Her kindness and gentleness, the sight of these people seeking solace in the chaple, and the flowers in his hands rekindled his faith and hope.
But the moment lasted only a few seconds. His mortality began to weigh on him again, giving rise to new doubts and a sense of betrayal. As the hours passed and the candles began to melt, Jonathan remained lost in his thoughts. He opened the Bible, tracing with his fingers the words he had known since childhood, but they offered him no solace now. Every line seemed to mock him with promises of redemption and salvation. The temple seemed to swallow him up, its walls closing in around him, echoing with sinister whispers filled with uncertainty and confusion.
So, with the first rays of the new dawn already peeking through the windows, Jonathan made his decision. With his heart beating faster, he stood up and walked towards the altar. He placed the bouquet in a vase and returned to his sit.
  1. "Oh, well what the hell" he thinks to himself as he lights his third-in-a-row cigarette. Today should have marked his 15th year without one, and under normal circumstances he would have been out, celebrating the occasion with Annabelle. She would have surely found a way to tease him, as always. Life was a never ending surprise around her. Just like five years ago when she used cigarette-shaped candles on his five-year anniversary cake. "Cigarette candles! How did she come up with such things." He thinks to himself. He tilts his head backward, eyes closed, letting the smoke exit his nostrils slowly. The wind on his face is hot and stifling, bringing with it the smell of smoke and burned flesh that still permeates the atmosphere. Ash, embers and burned paper are flying all around him tangling in his hair. Looking down now he can see what is left of Aldea. The city is dead. No more bright streetlights polluting the night sky. No more giant screens advertising perfumes and luxurious jewelry or asking you to donate money to hungry children across the globe. No more cars with their horns and their wheels against the asphalt. Nothing. Everything is dark, quite and still. The only light still visible, is coming from the leftover fires still smoldering here and there all around the eastern side. He is sitting alone on the roof's parapet, feet dangling, the only survivor left of the group that set out for the rooftop of "Nova Haven Luxury Suites" after the bombs started falling. A history professor had argued that they would be safer there, on the rooftop of the tallest building left standing. But he is dead now. Just like everyone else. Just like he will soon too be dead. "Guess it doesn't really matter where I stand now. There’s no escaping this. The stuff is everywhere". He mumbles between drags. He tries to stand up but the dizziness and nausea won’t let him. He can feel his fever getting worse too. He sits down again, thinking. What he can’t wrap his head around is how fast everything had happened. How instantaneously a whole city, a whole population can vanish, leaving nothing but vague trails of their existence and burned shadows on the walls. When he woke up two days ago, he had the exact same thought he had been having every morning since he became an adult. "If only the world could end, then I wouldn't have to wake up and go to work". And then the bombs started falling without a warning. No one saw them coming. Not even those astute guys from the Southern Intelligence Unit who spend their whole lives collecting information on local citizens to protect the nation from foreign threats. And now with the horrifying screams still in his ears, with the smell of death all around him and the stars brighter than ever above his head, he searches in his heart for that freedom and relaxation that he imagined the end of the world would bring but he finds only terror. Terror and grief. All he hopes now is to see the sun rise. He doesn't remember when he saw it for the last time. Perhaps when he was ten and his father had taken him fishing against his will. "Father-Son bonding" he had called it. But he wont see the sun rise. In the next few hours, his hair, already thinning will have fallen completely. His bruised, red skin will be filled with open sores and ulcers. And If there will be anyone left to find him, they will encounter a shriveled, disfigured body with dried blood all around its mouth and nose.
  2. “Hey there, Molly! What’s up girl? Still coming up empty handed, I see?” Danny's voice rang out through the waiting room as he strolled in. He cast a quick glance at the new guy by the corridor, twiddling and clutching a hunk of stale bread. “Your turn chump!”. The new guy sprang up with a jolt, and vanished through the dark corridor from which Danny had just emerged squeezing the piece of bread against his chest.
Danny wore his smile again and turned back to Molly “You know you should really consider teaming up with someone. It’d make your life a hell of a lot easier you know. But ah, I forget. No one could match up to Miles eh? Miles and Molly. The golden duo. Those were the days no?”
Molly draw her snout and her whiskers twitched as she lifted her shoulders before dropping them again. She made no reply.
“Careful now. I hear this is your third empty-handed visit right? Man, I’m so sorry. I really am you know. Being demoted to sewer-patrol uff!”
With eyes glued at the muddy wall in front of her, Molly allowed him to prattle on without making a sound. Let him talk. What the hell does he know in any case?
“Hit the jackpot this week, I did. Guess what I stumbled upon two days back.”
Still staring vacantly at the wall in front of her Molly whispered “I don’t know. Trouble?”
“Always the joker. Well, I found blueberries! Can you believe it? Mr Ernie says I’m on the fast track to a promotion. And here I thought you and Miles would beat me to it.”
She turned her gaze toward him and tilting her head to one side, narrowed her eyes without making a sound.
“And Jonny scored ham! Real, fresh ham Molly! And the other day, Benny found a warehouse by the docks...I tell you girl, you should really team up with someone. That is, if it’s not too late already. Besides, Miles is gone. Just let him go. But man... I’m so sorry you know.”
The hair on Molly’s back raised, her ears flexed and all she wanted was to wipe that stupid smile of his off of his face. But her body was frozen solid. Only her back paws were now fidgeting against the soggy ground.
“Anyways.That’s life for ya Toodles!”
Alone in the waiting room, her thoughts caught up with her. Those were the days indeed. What a team they made! Molly and Miles. Miles and Molly. Not a single day went by without some exquisite find. They could uncover anything. Anything! The pride of the tribe, envied by all the foragers. That is, Miles was. She was just lucky to be his partner and his friend. She was never as good as Miles. He was smart, fast, strong and he could sniff out food from miles away. Always knew the best way to get it too..Despite his seemingly swallow and boisterous personality, he was serious-minded. Always had a plan, the best plan. While she felt she was just along for the ride. And the day she thought she could finally prove herself to Miles by stumbling across this god-damned chunk of peanut butter. What a fool she had been. She still remembered everything. How he pushes her away and fells in the trap instead of her. How she tries to free him. How they can hear the humans approaching. How scared she feels. How Miles calls after her, pleading her to help him. How she leaves him and runs. The next day she goes back for him but the trap is empty. She finds Miles’ dead body in the trash can nearby.
“Mr Ernie says you can pass now, Miss”. The new guys voice pulled her out of her thoughts. She got up and quickly made her way through the damp corridor to the overseer’s office. "No demotion this time. A warning will suffice for now given the circumstances” Mr Ernie told her.
************************************************************************************************************************
To me they seem a bit cringy and I am not sure how to fix it. I know I tell too much instead of showing especially in the first one. And I think they don't flow naturally. I am also not sure if the dialogue is natural and indicative of the characters' personalities.
(Overlook for now any spelling/grammar mistakes. English is not my first language and I didn't have the chance to correct them grammar-wise yet)
Thank you!

Usability

When it comes to online casinos, first impressions matter a lot. After all, you'll be spending money and countless hours on the site. Let's start with our first impressions of Cafe Casino.

First Impressions

Right off the bat, Cafe makes a strong first impression with its modern, sleek website design. Despite being powered primarily by RealTime Gaming (whose casinos can often feel dated), Cafe Casino bucks that trend with a smooth, uncluttered layout that's optimized for mobile too.
The handy top navigation menu makes it easy to find your way around the different casino sections like slots, table games, live dealer, promotions and banking. Everything is simple and intuitive without being boring.

Website Experience and Features

Navigating Cafe's desktop site is an absolute breeze. The sidebar contains all the key information like current promos and quick links, while the main area is dedicated to browsing games. You can easily filter by category or use the search to quickly find titles.
New players will definitely appreciate the free demo play mode available for almost every game (except live dealer). Other neat features include being able to mark favorite games, adjust bet levels/coin values, game rules/payouts, and even toggling audio/visual settings per game.

Mobile Experience

Website automatically adapts to any screen size and orientation with zero loss in functionality. The UI smartly condenses menus and options into drop-downs to avoid clutter while keeping everything accessible.
Plus, all the games we tried ran like a dream on my Android and iPad - no lag, stuttering or crashing whatsoever. The graphics looked even better than on desktop too, really popping on those high-res mobile displays.

Sign-Up Process

Getting started as a new player on Cafe Casino is about as straightforward as it gets:
  1. Click the purple 'Join' button
  2. Enter basic personal details like name, DOB, phone etc.
  3. Agree to terms and click 'Register'
  4. Enter mobile verification code
  5. Set account PIN for security
  6. Choose welcome bonus (250% or 350% crypto)
  7. Make your first deposit
The whole process should only take 5-10 minutes tops. During my sign-up, we appreciated how everything was clearly laid out step-by-step with simple instructions.
Once registered, you can start taking full advantage of everything Cafe Casino has to offer - play games for real money or just practice first in demo mode if you prefer.

Casino Games

When it comes to gaming variety, Cafe definitely doesn't disappoint. Their ever-growing collection currently boasts over 250 different titles spanning slots, table games, video poker, specialty games and live dealer tables. Let's take a closer look at what they have to offer.

Game Providers

The majority of games at Cafe Casino are supplied by two main providers - Rival Gaming and RealTime (RTG). These are established and reputable casino software developers.
However, Cafe Casino has gone the extra mile to also include games from several other boutique studios like Woohoo, Revolver Gaming and their in-house Bovada Gaming brand. This mix of suppliers helps keep the game library feeling fresh and diverse.

Slots and Progressive Jackpots

Slots make up the largest section of the game lobby, which will be music to the ears of any slots enthusiast. We're talking over 200 different slot titles to choose from! These run the gamut from classic 3-reelers to more modern video slots packed with bonus features like free spins, multipliers, and wandering wilds.
Some of our personal favorite slots at Cafe are:
  • 777 Deluxe - A classic Vegas-style 3-reel with modern Hot Drop progressive jackpots
  • Opera of the Masks - Vibrant Asian-themed slot with 243 ways to win
  • Pirates Pick - Swashbuckling 5-reel pirate adventure with treasure bonus round
  • Pearl Pursuit - Brand new deep sea 5-reel with 243 ways and free spins galore
In addition to the regular slot games, Cafe Casino also has a dedicated section for progressives and jackpot slots. This includes their featured Hot Drop Jackpot games where you could randomly trigger prize wheels to win one of the timed jackpot prizes ranging from hourly to the life-changing Super jackpot.
Other standout progressives we enjoyed are Reels of Fortune with their sleek graphics and straightforward high-paying gameplay.

Table Games

While slots reign supreme in terms of quantity, Cafe Casino's table game selection is also solid with around 30 different options in total. You'll find all the classic casino staples like:
  • 14 Blackjack variants (Perfect Pairs, Zappit, European)
  • Roulette (American, European, Zoom)
  • Baccarat
  • Craps
  • Poker Games (Triple Card, Caribbean Hold'em)
Nearly all table games come with free demo modes and detailed game rules/payouts, making them highly approachable even for total beginners.

Video Poker

For video poker fans, Cafe Casino hosts around 10 different variations including Jacks or Better, Joker Poker, Double Bonus and more. These are available in standard single-hand mode as well as multi-hand formats of 3, 10, 52 or even 100 hands!
While the selection is decent, we would like to see them expand their video poker library further by adding more niche variants down the line. But for now, classics like Double Double Bonus Poker should keep most VP fans satisfied.

Specialty Games

Under the specialty category, you'll find an assortment of unique casual games beyond just the typical slots and tables. Some highlights are:
  • 7 Video Bingo games (including progressives)
  • Keno
  • Minesweeper
  • Plinko
  • Crash games like ThunderCrash
Specialty games like these provide a fun change of pace and showcase the diversity of Cafe Casino's gaming suite. Bingo and keno fans, in particular, will feel right at home here.

Live Dealers

For that authentic casino environment streamed straight to your device, check out Cafe Casino's dedicated live dealer section. While not the largest live lobby out there, it does cover the essentials well:
  • Blackjack
  • Roulette (European and American)
  • Baccarat
  • Super 6
The live dealer games are powered by Visionary iGaming and offer a good mix of standard tables as well as some unique rule variations like Blackjack Early Payout.

Bonuses and Promotions

Let's be honest, one of the biggest draws of any online casino is the promotions and bonus offers. After all, who doesn't love extra value and chances to boost their bankroll? Cafe Casino clearly understands this, serving up an enticing array of welcome bonuses, reload deals, loyalty rewards and more.

Welcome Bonuses

New players are greeted with not one, but two lucrative welcome bonuses to choose from:
  • 250% Welcome Bonus Up to $1,500
This standard casino welcome bonus gives you a 250% match on your first deposit using credit/debit cards or approved wallets.
For example, if you deposit $100, you'll get an extra $250 in bonus funds, giving you $350 to play with. The maximum bonus amount caps at $1,500.
  • 350% Crypto Welcome Bonus Up to $2,500
Make your first deposit using approved cryptos like Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash or Litecoin and Cafe Casino will sweeten the deal with a massive 350% bonus!
This means a $100 deposit could net you $350 in bonus funds for a total of $450 to play with. The higher 350% match and loftier $2,500 maximum really amplify the value for crypto enthusiasts.
BONUS MATCH % MAX AMOUNT WAGER REQ
Casino Welcome 250% $1,500 40x Deposit + Bonus
Bitcoin Welcome 350% $2,500 40x Deposit + Bonus
Both of these bonus offers do carry a 40x wager requirement before you can withdraw any associated winnings. While steep, it's a standard rollover in the online casino world for such high percentage matches.

Weekly Mystery Bonuses

Even after claiming your welcome offer, the bonus fun doesn't stop at Cafe Casino. Every single Thursday, all active players receive a mystery bonus in their account!
These could be anything from deposit matches and free spins to straight cash rewards. The beauty is you never know exactly what you'll get, adding an exciting element of surprise and anticipation each week.
During my time reviewing the site, I received a 300% reload bonus one week and 50 free spins the next. While the amounts weren't massive, even small bonuses like these go a long way in keeping your balance topped up for more play time.

$100 Referral Bonus

Why not get paid for spreading the word about Cafe Casino to your friends and fellow gambling buddies? Their referral program lets you earn $100 in bonus cash for every friend who signs up using your personal affiliate link and deposits.
Better yet, if your referral makes their first deposit using cryptocurrency, you'll get an additional $25 on top for a total of $125! There's also no cap on how many referrals you can accumulate.
Just log into your account, grab your unique referral URL from the home page, and start sharing. Once your friend joins and deposits, the bonus funds will be automatically credited to your balance.

VIP and Loyalty Programs

Every single wager you make at Cafe Casino, whether on slots, tables or anything else, earns you loyalty points that can be redeemed for real cash bonuses. It's their way of rewarding you simply for playing your favorite games.
The number of points earned depends on the game type:
  • Slots: 2 points per $1 wagered
  • Video Poker: 1 point per $1
  • Table Games: 1 point per $1
  • Specialty Games: 5 points per $1
As you accumulate more points over time, you'll climb through 8 different tier levels like Double Bar, Triple Bar, Bell and all the way up to the Red Cherry VIP level. The higher your tier, the better your redemption rate for exchanging those points into cash.

Banking and Payment Methods

When it comes to funding your online casino adventures and cashing out winnings, having a wide variety of trustworthy banking options is crucial. Cafe Casino seems to have put a lot of thought into catering to all types of players in this regard.

Deposit Options

Whether you prefer traditional credit cards, cutting-edge cryptocurrencies, or mobile payment apps, Cafe Casino likely has a deposit method to suit your needs. Let's run through the options:

Here's an engaging section covering Cafe Casino's licensing/regulation and customer service options:

Licensing and Regulation

When it comes to licensing and regulation, Cafe Casino keeps things relatively straightforward. They operate under a license issued by the jurisdiction of Curacao. While not one of the industry's most stringent regulatory bodies, this does ensure they maintain at least some basic standards and player protection protocols.

Customer Service Options

Having a reliable customer support system in place is crucial for any online casino. With Cafe Casino, players have multiple contact options to get the assistance they need:
Contact Method Availability Estimated Response Times
Live Chat 24/7 5-7 minutes
Email 24/7 24-48 hours
Phone 24/7 N/A (not listed)
The site's live chat function is hands-down the fastest and most convenient way to get in touch with an agent. During our review, we waited around 5-7 minutes which is reasonable during peak hours. The chat agents were professional and able to promptly resolve basic account and banking queries.
For more complex issues or avoiding hold times, you can submit a request via email. Cafe Casino doesn't provide specific turnaround times, but in our experience most emails were responded to within 24-48 hours. Not the fastest, but still acceptable for non-urgent matters.
Strangely, there doesn't seem to be a dedicated casino phone line listed anywhere on the site. This is a bit of an oversight in my opinion, as some players do prefer the personal 1-on-1 approach of voice communication.
Outside of direct contact methods, Cafe Casino also has a robust FAQ section covering all the key areas like bonuses, banking, account management and so on. This self-help knowledge base is a great first stop before reaching out to support.

2024.05.09 11:43 xvadim A new version of Cards Golf for Android

A new version of Cards Golf for Android
I'd like to present a new version of the "Cards Golf" game for Android.
In this version I updated UI, but the most important feature is the online-mode. Now you can play with your friends (or strangers) via the Internet.
Rules.
Like in a real golf the goal of this game is to earn as few points as possible.
Each game consist of nine rounds. At the beginning of a round each player receives 6 cards face down, all cards left are put in a draw pile. One card from the draw pile is put in a discard pile, face up.
At first a player have to face up two his/her cards. After that he/she can reduce the value of the cards in front of them by either swapping them for lesser value cards or by pairing them up in columns with cards of equal rank.
Players make turns drawing a single card from either the draw pile or the discard pile. The drawn card may either be swapped for one of that player's card, or just discarded. If the card is swapped for one of the face down card, the cad swapped in remains face up. If the card drawn is discarded, the player's turn is passed. The round ends when all of a player's cards are face-up.
Scoring:
  • Any pairs of cards in a column are worth 0 points
  • Jokers are worth -2 points
  • Kings are worth 0 points
  • Queens and Jacks are worth 20 points
  • Every other card is worth their rank
To swap one of the your cards with the discard one just tap on this card. To play a card from the deck, tap on the draw pile to face it up and after that either tap on the discard pile to discard it or tap on one of the your cards for swapping.
A short video of gameplay.

MultiVersus is Adding Mark Hamill's Joker to the Roster
Warner Bros. Games has announced the Joker as the latest character to join the playable roster in the upcoming 2D platform fighting game MultiVersus. It was also revealed that the Joker will be voiced by Mark Hamill, who portrayed the Clown Prince of Crime in the animated Batman television series and the popular Batman: Arkham video game franchise.
First announced in 2021, MultiVersus was made available to players in early access testing from July 2022 to June 2023. The game features a number of characters within the Warner Bros. library, and allows players to battle it out in comedic chaos across a number of colorful 2D levels. With the full version of the game scheduled to launch in just a few weeks, Warner Bros. is drumming up fan enthusiasm with surprising announcements, including one of the most iconic villains of all time.
Adding to a growing roster of classic characters, the Joker is set to enter the fray in MultiVersus, joining his longtime nemesis Batman and his romantic interest Harley Quinn. MultiVersus already features a number of beloved characters from franchises like Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, and more, and the DC Comics offerings are expanding with the most iconic villain from Batman's rogues gallery. The Joker, who will be voiced once more by legendary actor Mark Hamill, will be one of many characters players can choose from when experiencing the free-to-play platform fighting game MultiVersus. Fans have begun celebrating the milestone announcement, with many elated to be able to hear Mark Hamill's Joker and the late Kevin Conroy's Batman facing off once more.
MultiVersus Trailer Offers First Look At The Joker
In the official reveal trailer for the Joker in MultiVersus, fans can get a sneak peek at Mark Hamill's reprisal of his iconic role as Batman's greatest nemesis. The trailer shows a stone-faced Batman approaching a glowing green fog, as he walks past other playable characters, like Scooby-Doo's Shaggy and Game of Thrones' Arya Stark. Upon reaching the edge of the fog, Batman hears the all too familiar voice of the Joker taunting the Caped Crusader with hysterical laughter. Fans get just a brief glimpse at a gun-like weapon on the ground before the Joker flashes a dazzling smile and rushes towards the camera. Audiences will be able to play as the Joker and more characters in MultiVersus when the game releases on Tuesday, May 28.
Fighting games have proven to be incredibly popular for decades, dating all the way back to early arcade cabinets. Over the years, game studios have devised new mechanics and styles to draw in fans of the fighting game genre and newcomers alike. MultiVersus will bring combat changes and classic characters, offering fans an exciting take on beloved platform fighters.

Our reviews of LUCAS after playing it:
Review 1:
“With respect to L.U.C.A.S., I think it is OK, but just ok. When you have a Joker in your hand, you are empowered to come up with the least likely situation and it will succeed. Also, when battling and you have a 20 versus some else's natural 21, you cannot win. Since the cards return to your hand, there is no mechanic to get around it. It needs refinement, but I am not sure exactly how.”
Review 2:
“I felt that L.U.C.A.S doesn't leave enough to chance. As a player you can look at your hand, and decide to only do things you know you will succeed at. If a player has a joker, they can do things that would they would never try, if there was a chance if failure. As GM if you can get a 21 in combat, it leaves you with the option of either pummeling your players to death, or basically throwing the fight.I think the game would be helped greatly with a blind draw from your hand of 8, instead of building your best hand. So you look at your 8 cards, shuffle them. Decide what you will do, then flip cards a la black jack. So you can lean into your cards, and play the odds, but you aren't guaranteed a win when you want it most.”

Plot Summary of I Eat Challenges For Breakfast:
Armando meets Demyan at the guild hall after he reads the latest job flier from the job board. The flier states that the fate of many dimensions is at risk and help is needed in retrieving an object to keep stable and is signed K.I.D.S. (Keepers of the Interdimensional Door System). Demyan examines the flier more closely and, upon pressing the sigil, they are both transported to a room/space of pure white. Suddenly, rows and rows of different kinds of doors appear as they slide into their vicinity. One of the doors opens before them into a large room with a huge glass dome. Standing at the other side of the interior is an enigmatic, anthropomorphic tiger named Antonia. A rabbit folk thief stole an irreplaceable tool used to repair the doors between dimensions (known as the Bag of Tricks). Antonia's agent in Niqamui, Captain Horatio Magellan, is unable to be contacted and they fear the worst.
They return to Niqamui and head to the docks to check the port authority regarding the presence or last known location of the captain. With the help of the people at the dock facility, they are directed to his ship, The Guppy. When they leave and approach The Guppy, they encounter his first mate, Samuel Ramphastidae, they find that Captain Magellan was supposed to be meeting some shady characters at a specific warehouse. Demyan and Armando decide to investigate. Demyan picks the lock and they enter to find the captain tied to a chair in the middle of the room. When they start to free him, three elves appear and introduce themselves as Click, Russell, and Boom. Just when a conflict is about to happen, one of the elves identifies Armando by reputation and steers the other two away from fighting. Armando and Demyan release the captain from the custody of some street toughs and tell him they were sent by Antonia. At this, Horatio perks up and directs them to the place were the thief is said to have fled. He directs them to Professor Island where they suspect the Bag of Tricks to be. As the voyage is prepared, Armando finds a spinning chair and gleefully spins on it while Demyan talks the captain out of a cannon and he carefully places it in his advanced bag or near infinite space.
They sail to the island. After a day of sailing, the see an island where visible parts of it seem to transform in the blink of an eye. Knowing that is most likely a result of the Bag of Tricks, the disembark and make their way. A sweet smell hits their noses and they follow the scent which seemingly leads to the interior of the island. Before they get too far, a swarm of bees attack the heroes. Quickly, Armando identifies a set of flint rocks and desiccated foliage. Upon lighting the foliage on fire and standing in the smoke, the bees approach and become relaxed. Armando suddenly realizes that the smoke has a 'chill out' affect and begins to get a little hungry. As they proceed into the island's interior, they see two giants that are closely guarding sets of different colored pebbles. Armando decides to strip naked and enrich his clothes with the 'chill out' smoke. Her dons his clothes and rushes to the taller of the two giants and hugs him. Upon inhaling the overpowering smell of the smoke, both giants relax and begin to eat the stones they were guarding and they leave the heroes alone.
They reach a castle. They knock at the gate, but there is no answer. They see lights flashing in the tallest tower so Demyan decides to break open the door with the help of his new cannon. After annihilating the gate, a ghost appears and attacks Armando. Armando gets hurt but Demyan decides to capture the ghost by reversing the polarity on his potato gun. Moments later, the ghost is trapped in a recently used to-go ale bottle. They enter the castle and see a suspicious leprechaun in the courtyard. Armando asks about him and finds out he was sent here from another dimension. The heroes promise to help him return to his world after they find the bag. They head upstairs towards the room with lights and encounter a laboratory. They find what looks to be a reconstructed person named Barry.

They ask Barry about Dr. Spark and she exits the shadows and speaks to Demyan. Through diplomacy, they find out that the thief if on the roof above them. They swiftly pursue the lead and find the thief, Arlie Barrett. They battle and defeat her. After reclaiming the bag, they take Arlie, the leprechaun, and transport them all back to the domain of all the doors between dimensions.
