Evidence that nukes are a hoax
The following documentary explores the surprisingly abundant evidence that nuclear weapons are a hoax.
https://www.nytimes.com/1945/11/03/archives/seversky-limits-atom-bomb-power-likens-hiroshima-blow-to-one-by-200.html
This man actually analysed the city of Hiroshima after the act and testified the following:
"In Hiroshima I was prepared for radically different sights. But, to my surprise, Hiroshima looked exactly like all the other burned-out cities in Japan. There was a familiar pink blot, about two miles in diameter. It was dotted with charred trees and telephone poles. Only one of the cities twenty bridges was down. Hiroshima’s clusters of modern buildings in the downtown section stood upright.
It was obvious that the blast could not have been so powerful as we had been led to believe. It was extensive blast rather than intensive.
I had heard of buildings instantly consumed by unprecedented heat. Yet here I saw the buildings structurally intact, and what is more, topped by undamaged flag poles, lightning rods, painted railings, air raid precaution signs and other comparatively fragile objects.
At the T-bridge, the aiming point for the atomic bomb, I looked for the “bald spot” where everything presumably had been vaporized in the twinkling of an eye. It wasn’t there or anywhere else. I could find no traces of unusual phenomena.
What I did see was in substance a replica of Yokohama or Osaka, or the Tokyo suburbs – the familiar residue of an area of wood and brick houses razed by uncontrollable fire. Everywhere I saw the trunks of charred and leafless trees, burned and unburned chunks of wood. The fire had been intense enough to bend and twist steel girders and to melt glass until it ran like lava – just as in other Japanese cities.
The concrete buildings nearest to the centre of explosion, some only a few blocks from the heart of the atom blast, showed no structural damage. Even cornices, canopies and delicate exterior decorations were intact. Window glass was shattered, of course, but single-panel frames held firm; only window frames of two or more panels were bent and buckled. The blast impact therefore could not have been unusual."

This study was never published for some reason.
I’ve been to both Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The whole thing is propaganda. There isn’t a trace of residual radiation anywhere in either city. I checked using a Geiger counter purchased after the “Fukushima” nuclear hoax, which at the time I thought was real.
The few bits of footage of the nukes exploding is laughable. It’s Hollywood effects, matte screens and identical mushroom clouds composited for different angles. Totally fake.
There is a reason these magical super weapons have never been used for an act of “terrorism” or in any war zone since and it has nothing to do with mutually assured destruction, unless you take that to mean the global unravelling of the lie itself.
It’s because nukes don’t exist, have never existed and cannot be made to work. They are a myth.
While looking for info on how "feasible" an all out thermonuclear war scenario was, because I already figured that nuclear weapons are a joke and a remnant way of thought from the Cold War era of thinking, I stumbled upon this massive article about the supposed Nuclear Weapons hoax.
Some highlights of it, after skimming through it last night include:
  • Nuclear weapons are a result of a collusion between USA/USSR (With Stalin keeping the East of Europe to remain a "threat" to the west) and Japan with many other countries joining later.
  • Explaining the impossibility of making an Atomic bomb work in the first place, and why it cannot possibly produce radiation that can cause harm to any biological matter, including humans.
  • The Hiroshima and Nagasaki "atomic bombs" were most likely faked: No nuclear bombs were detonated, Napalm carpet bombings were used instead, and nobody died from radiation. It also explains how could a lie like that be kept in Japan for 60+ years and shows plenty of photos from ground zero.
  • "(...)Nuclear radiation is harmless. It is just easy to detect by Geiger meters, etc, but cannot harm anything. Only uranium and plutonium metal dusts are poisonous."
  • Clearing misconceptions related to the Fukushima 2011 incident
  • Explaining why the B61 nuclear bombs are a fraud.
  • A timeline showcasing the USA-North Korea talks from 2017 and 2018 and explaining why they were only done to put on a show, because, it is very likely that North Korea, does not have any in the first place.
And many other stuff.
Here it is, divided in 9 parts.

The destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki appear not to be the result of one large explosion, but rather the result of a fire-bombing campaign comparable in pictures to Tokyo's fire-bombed remains. Hiroshima and Nagasaki also never experienced anything like the hundreds or thousands of years of radiation predicted by nuclear scientists, in fact, vegetation began growing within a month after the bombing, and the Japanese people began rebuilding almost immediately!
Some nuclear physicists even claim nuclear weaponry fraudulent based solely on the technical impossibilities of fission material not to be incinerated before triggering the necessary nuclear chain reaction.
Tesla even famously tried to split the atom him self and came to the conclusion it didn't release energy:
"Let me say that has nothing to do with releasing so-called atomic energy. There is no such energy in the sense usually meant. With my currents, using pressures as high as 15,000,000 volts, the highest ever used, I have split atoms — but no energy was released. I confess that before I made this experiment I was in some fear. I said to my assistants, ‘I do not know what will happen. If the conclusions of certain scientists are right, the release of energy from the splitting of an atom may mean an explosion which would wreck our apparatus and perhaps kill someone. Is that understood?’
My assistants urged me to perform the experiment and I did so. I shattered atoms again and again. But no appreciable energy was released."
This was from an interview he did with time magazine back in 1931 so it made me wonder if these anti nuke guys were on to something. The government has a lot of reasons to create a weapon of mass destruction psyop it spreads fear porn thats one thing and convinces people they can cause nuclear armageddon at the flick of a button. Einstein as some people know tried to steal Tesla's spotlight putting him into obscurity but his technology and experiments were very peculiar and show us there's a lot of high strangeness about this reality that's still not well understood.
Also In 1986, Galen Winsor a Nuclear physicist Exposed the Nuclear fear scam by licking a pile of highly radioactive uranium off the palm of his hand and ignite a chunk of plutonium into a shower of flaming dust to show how safe these materials were. The guy also drank reactor cooling pool water for fun and liked to go swimming in the pool to relax.

2024.05.14 01:03 Ruy_Fernandez Question about a heraldic source on Wikipedia

Hello. On the Wikipedia page of Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Richard,_Duke_of_Gloucester ) there are arms which are supposey his son and heir Alexander Windsor's. The shield is the same as the current duke's, differenciated by an inesturcheon of pretence of the arms of Booth, his wife Claire Booth being a heraldic heiress. Now, unlike many arms that are dropped sourceless on Wikipedia, this one does have a source, and it's nothing less than the College of Arms website ( https://www.college-of-arms.gov.uk/contact-us/directory/7-norroy-ulster ). However, although I have visited this website several times, I still don't understand so well how it works, which is why I am asking you more expert heralders. Basically, I don't understand whether there is an official armorial with the arms registered by the college. This also implies that I cannot find on this website any trace of Alexander Winsor, though this is supposed to be its source. Can someone a little more expert explain where on the website I might, please. Thanks.

Best (opaque) black ink to use with a dip pen?
Hey all!
I use a relatively fine dip pen nib for my linework. When I use my sepia ink (no idea what brand it is, it just comes in a nondescript container because I pinched it from my school's art department) it flows beautifully and I can get some really nice thin, delicate details with my quick sketching style. (1st pic for example)
Buuuut I try to use my Winsor & Newton black India ink it's always so gluggy and barely flows out of the pen. (might not be easy to tell in the second pic, but the linework is way more awkward and raggedy since I couldn't get that same glide)
Can't get anywhere near as much line weight variation and I have to work pretty slowly so the line doesn't falter and break halfway through. I've taken to watering down the ink very slightly and also giving my pen a quick wash after I finish inking a section to stop it getting clogged up, but this is pretty tedious and I'm wary of overdiluting the ink. (I do like its bold, opaque finish, though it is a bit too glossy)
Is there something I'm doing wrong with how I use my pen or do I need to use a different ink entirely? I tried out Educational Colours black ink and while it was very smooth it was way too thin and dried in a gross translucent grey.
As I said before I work pretty briskly with lots of quick, curved strokes so if anyone knows of a deep black ink that has this kind of smoothness without being too watery please let me know.
thanks and sorry for the text wall!

2024.05.03 23:00 Melcma How to achieve deep dark red?

I took someone's job picture an photoshopped it to what I'd like to achieve. It's a dark red, with no purple or orange accents, just pure dark red. I'm trying but I have no idea how to achieve that.
https://i.imgur.com/CpAbFSm.jpeg
On picture attached the left side is what I'd like to achieve and on right hand side there are my attempts, numbered from left to right:
  1. Stippling mix of bronze, crimson red and bright red (Citadel Dryad Bark, Khorne Red, Wild Rider Red) - turned out too bright
  2. Winsor & Newton Oil Alizarin Crimson airbrushed over bonewhite drybrush - too cherry/crimson
  3. Red Acrylic Ink - just for comparison
  4. W&N Oil Alizarin Crimson mixed with Yellow Orche over bonewhite drybrush - I tried to change hue from cherry to pure red but that killed opacity of the mix and made it too bright, not happy with result.
Clearly results are not there, it's either too bright and if I darken with brown it becomes desaturated or too crimson/cherry, adding yellow orche makes it too bright and paint becomes opaque.
No idea what to do next, I do consider Blood Angels contrast paint over grey zenithals or some dark red oil paint but most of them have purple hue.
What can I do, what am I missing?

My first “real” piece. How do I get less… streaky?
A few things, 1. I’ve been a digital artist for years and last year I got into oil painting. Besides playing around a bit and feeling out the paints, this is the first scenic piece I’ve done. Very much inspired by Impressionism. 2. I’m using the cheapest winsor and newton paints I could find. About 5-6$ a piece. I don’t know much that makes a difference. I had like a three month break half way though the piece, so that’s why it’s so weirdly globby in some spots. 3. Sorry about the glare.
I don’t get how in impressionist pieces they layer strokes so effortlessly! All my colors get all streaky and blend together. Thanks for the help!

Any tips on how to get the paint exactly where I need/better brush control? I am also open to alternative methods of shading.

2024.04.21 17:05 Salacia-the-Artist A Question About Sorting Palettes by Properties

Hiya! I'm an experienced digital paintecolorist, but within the last couple years I've jumped back into watercolors because it was always my favorite traditional medium. I've been spending most of my time learning how to control the medium and familiarizing myself with my paints. My problem is with the latter.
I started off with the 24 Mijello Mission Gold set, but I've since accumulated quite a bit more colors from various brands, leaning towards pure pigments with a few convenience colors that I like or use for mixes. I realize that I may have overwhelmed myself with too many colors, and trying to learn how each one works individually, as well as with other colors, has been a slog. I've been mixing and matching my paints to create a limited palette for each painting as a way to get used to how they work (as well as messing with them individually and creating color mix charts). The main issue I'm having is knowing when to use paints with certain properties (granulation, staining, opaque, lifting, high flow, etc.) as part of a limited palette, or if I even should. If at least one of my paints is granulating or lifts easily I tend to run into problems when it comes to layering or mixing paint on paper.
So here is my question: Does it make sense to have 2-4 different palettes based on properties? Does having a transparent staining set, a granulating set, and a lifting set make more sense than a mixed set? Will that help with learning by lowering the randomness? I definitely want to incorporate granulating colors into my work in certain places, but a granulating color as a primary in a limited palette (with 3 primaries or 6 split primaries, + essential mixers/convenience colors) doesn't work for every subject in one painting if I don't want granulation everywhere. (For example, I don't want heavy granulation in skin, but granulation is often in the mix.)
A second question: Should I just avoid lifting paints if I plan to use layering? Lifting paints seem to cause me a lot of trouble while learning to mix and layer.
Sorry if it's been answered before. I did spend time looking for answers before making this post but couldn't find the info. I needed. Feel free to link me to other posts. As a small side note, I am still not sure of the process I intend to use for painting as I am still exploring all of that to find what works for me.
// Paints I use: Mijello, Daniel Smith, QOR, Winsor & Newton, Holbein, American Journey. Paper: Arches, Canson Heritage, Kilamanjaro, Baohong (Academy and Artist) - all 100% cotton, mix of coldpress/hotpress/rough, all 140 lb. Brushes: Silver Black Velvet //
Thank you for any advice! Replies might take a while because I'm busy/travelling, but I'll get back to you.

A Handful of Violet Paints and Two Rare Purples

A Handful of Violet Comparisons
Hello, fellow painters!
Today we have a handful of violet paints mixed with increasing levels of titanium white.
M Graham Quinacridone Violet PV19. This is kind of a wine colored red-violet. This is nice to include next to the Rembrandt because it shows how the Rembrandt leans a little more purple.
Rembrandt Red Violet (567). This is an interesting color because it's made of PR202. PR202 has two variations-- one that leans violet and one that leans more red. This sample came from an older tube (violet) which occupied a really interesting place in the color space. A newer version of this Rembrandt tube with the same labeling was not the same color.
Daniel Smith Quinacridone Purple PV55. Recently Daniel Smith discontinued their oil paints and replaced them all with water mixable oils. This is too bad because PV55 isn't currently found in any other oil paint brands and it is a super high chroma gem-toned puple. This is a gorgeous color. It's lightfastness could be a little better--only about a 7/8 for LF according to artiscreation.com.
Winsor and Newton Permanent Mauve PV16. This mineral violet is a fantastic pigment, and an unsung hero. It is great for skintones as well as neutralizing certain greens.
Old Holland Cobalt Violet Light PV14. This is a single pigment electric violet. Cobalt Violet Light is super gorgeous-- in linseed oil it does yellow a little (the sample here is linseed, but it had not aged yet). Nonetheless, there are no pigments quite like it.

2024.04.19 17:54 altstock Winsor & Newton brush cleaner and restorer in Australia

Saw a post saying how using this cleaner was the "nuclear option" for cleaning out old brushes, and well, I need that option
However after spending about 20 minutes on Google I can't seem to find anyone selling it or even shipping it to Australia, is it banned here? I found a 75ml bottle of "cleaner" by Winsor and Newton but not only does the labelling look completely different, but the official W&N website doesn't list their cleaner as coming in a 75ml variety
Can anyone help me with this please?

Painting highlights over an oil base coat?
Hey,
I wanted something thick and strong to paint the skin of my roided goats (Felgor Ravagers/Chaos beastmen) so I decided to use oil paints (Winsor&Newton).
Now, how exactly do I highlight what I’ve done so far? I made different mixes with the oil paints I have and I quite franky don’t know the tones and different shades I have used.
Should I wait for it to dry, varnish then go in with acrylic or is that not an option?

2024.04.12 06:01 Hayley-182 Fourth Parliament First Session Speech From the Throne

Order!
(A message was delivered by the Black Rod as follows:)
Mr. Speaker, Her Excellency the Governor General desires the immediate attendance of this honourable House in the chamber of the Senate.
(Accordingly, the Speaker with the House went up to the Senate chamber.)
Order!
(Her Excellency the Governor General having come and being seated at the foot of the Throne)
The Governor General: Pray be seated.
The Speaker of the Senate: Usher of the Black Rod, you will proceed to the House of Commons and acquaint that House that it is the desire of his Excellency the Governor General that they attend him immediately in the Senate Chamber.
(The House of Commons being come with their speaker)
Their Speaker, the Honourable Trick_Bar_1439, said:
May it Please Your Excellency,
The House of Commons has elected me their Speaker, though I am but little able to fulfil the important duties thus assigned to me. If, in the performance of those duties, I should at any time fall into error, I pray that the fault may be imputed to me, and not to the Commons, whose servant I am, and who, through me, the better to enable them to discharge their duty to their King and Country, humbly claim all their undoubted rights and privileges, especially that they may have freedom of speech in their debates, access to Your Excellency’s Person at all seasonable times, and that their proceedings may receive from Your Excellency the most favourable construction.
Her Excellency the Governor General was then pleased to open the Second Session of the First Parliament with the following speech.
Throne Speech Folks, Honourable Chairs in the Former Senate Chamber, Members of the House of Commons, We gather here today for the opening of parliament and I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the fine people who came together to make this situation a reality. I would also like to extend my congratulations to every one of the newly elected Members of the House of Commons, each one of you has now been tasked with a duty to those who elected you, and to all Canadians, as you prepare to make your mark on Canada. I would also like to mention that recent developments have come around to give me this opportunity to form a government and test the confidence of the house. It is now time to finally depart from our spending ways and begin to be more fiscally responsible. Time to continue moving Canada into the future and time to ensure that Canada has the best leadership it possibly can have. There are many things that I would like to talk about but I know that the Speaker would tire should I put all of my plans into words, thus I will shorten many of the points that I wish to make and try to summarize the necessary parts of governance. I hope to create a speech that is just as simple and clear as the governance that we wish to provide. I know that Immigration is on many people's minds, and there has not been a significant reform in that region in many years. I am proud to say that we plan on making changes there. The number of international students hosted by our country will be lowered to 200,000. This may still seem like a massive number however this is a reduction from 900,000 which will help free up many rental spaces, and decrease the demand for housing across Canada. These reforms will also make it easier for Canadians to locate work along with making life easier for students who have needed to compete in a heightened environment that did not allow them. Our further reforms also include pushing down temporary newcomers from the current percentage they are at now down to 5% which will allow our country's vast resources to be better distributed across the country. We also plan on encouraging people to spread across Canada, rather than settle down where they first come to the country. I have heard for many years about how we are a mosaic, however, this is something that does not help Immigration is not the only target we are putting on housing. It is still an issue that affects the lives of many different Canadians and one which cannot be understated. It is necessary to explore many different values with regard to the housing crisis, and I believe that the government will excel in doing this through various methods. One of these methods is that we plan on selling 6000 buildings owned by the federal government, which will be used to create affordable housing. This is not the Canada Post plan that I have harped on in the past, but one that will focus on finding buildings that are unnecessary and unused and putting them to better use. To springboard off of those ideas, we also are ready to make a difference and bring down the price of housing and continue pushing for big city municipalities to increase home supply by at least 15% per year through various methods up to loss of federal funding. We would also want to punish foreign speculators with more ferocity so they cannot just price out real everyday Canadians and stop them from being able to buy their starter homes and bring the dream of home ownership back. Now I would like to speak about healthcare, and in doing so group physical and mental health. We will start by reintroducing the nurse practitioner program. This will ease the difficulties that come with the shortage of nurses which many regions are dealing with. Adding onto the removal of shortages is a planned increase in wages for nurses, along with working to make it easier for new Canadians to obtain the necessary qualifications if they have experience from their home countries. Now we cannot forget that with this plan to increase the number of healthcare workers, we also plan to invest in new hospitals in regions that need them, like Brampton. All of this will go together with increases in health transfer payments to tie it to the increasing population and to better factor it in against inflation. Crime is another point of contention that we must contend with and something that I believe people will find very important. It feels as though people believe that the reward for criminal activities exceeds the risks. That is unacceptable in our society and something must be done about that so that people can feel safe again. That is the main goal here. We want people to know that they can leave their cars in their parking lot and walk around their neighborhood whenever they want without feeling danger. We want to increase the punishment that criminals receive so that they will not feel as though they can get away with crime with impunity. We want to increase the punishments for violent crimes and work towards ensuring that they do not re-offend. To that end, we will push for mandatory minimums to return on some violent sentences. Alongside that and for the same effort we plan on making the streets safer and working to remove illegal firearms. Taxes are important to the people of Canada and are huge towards determining the cost of living, which is something this government wishes to clamp down on. This government will continue to keep the GST at 4%, as well as making a promise to not increase taxes. We will plan to also work to lower the cost of living by allowing foreign investment in the telecommunications sector. This will save Canadians money by increasing competition, resulting in a reduction in costs as well as giving Canadians more money in their pocket. We further plan to Introduce a $1000 tax benefit per child, to support parents in raising their children to further put more money into our pockets and help work towards making our situation better. We will also cut the carbon tax and work to ensure that there is an increase in funding for researching carbon capture and its viability in reducing fossil fuel emissions so that we can pull away from Canadians and continue to improve the technology behind the climate. We should also remember that the domestic production of resources is important. So I want to bring back the Canadian production of things. We have huge resources in that regard, and a low willingness to contribute to the world with our much cleaner, and better-extracted resources. We will work to create the Clean Energy Development Tax Credit, allowing small and medium-sized businesses to develop common sense solutions to emission reduction challenges, and along with that we plan on hitting the net zero targets by 2050. We can hit those goals and make Canada a better place by continuing to extract our resources with Canadian values and Canadian laws rather than purchasing them abroad. Canada is poised to make big moves that everyone will benefit from now and in the future. In the foreign affairs arena, we need to ensure that our allies are well protected and that they receive the resources they need. I am a man of promises so I know that we should push towards the NATO 2% spending target. While we may not have the same influence as other countries, Canada is still a global leader and one which influences many other countries. Many different theatres require a different touch. We will continue the work that was started back near the beginning of the conflict in Gaza and continue making sure that Canadians are safe. We will also continue supporting Ukraine and helping them stand up to Putin with the knowledge that if Ukraine falls, the Russians will attempt to claim their Czarist borders and continue pushing further. Furthermore, This government will work towards building economic, tourism, and cultural relations with our natural allies. This government will seek out trade deals to improve the lives of Canadians through agreements with our historically friendly nations. This government pledges to maintain good relations with our allies and hold a firm stance against those who go against the best interests of Canada. This government will reinvest in our naval submarines and develop nuclear-powered icebreakers to be able to help patrol our shores from possible invasion. Parliamentarians, the Canadian people are looking for stability and governance and this will be a strong part of that. Indigenous peoples need our help now more than ever. Though the past governments have begun doing more work in the recent past there is still much which can be done for those Canadians. This government will Invest in key infrastructure projects over the next 5 years, focusing on roads, utilities, water infrastructure, and telecommunications that would address the many ongoing issues that indigenous communities face each and every day. Along with this, we need to look at how we treat our water, and provide more protection for important environmental areas. Furthermore, we plan to lift all remaining boil-water advisories in indigenous communities through investments in water infrastructure on reserves and finally work on allowing indigenous peoples to trust us. Infrastructure is a big part of our economy and country so we need to continue to make correct investments. Transportation is a big part of this equation as it helps goods and services as well as people move around the country. In that regard we will re-establish the Public Transportation Tax Credit that was previously axed by the Liberals, encouraging greater use of public transportation across the country. Invest in public roadways. We will continue building the Winsor-Quebec City HSR so that people can travel the region much quicker than normal. Most people still use cars and roadways are an incredibly important part of transportation in Canada and need to be properly maintained. We will invest in greener public transport, either zero or very low emission. This government will also work towards the expansion of Uranium mining operations in Alberta and elsewhere in the Athabasca Basin region. Along with the increase in mining, this government will work towards increasing our nuclear energy output. As technology is improving so too is the safety and reliability of nuclear energy and will be a strong part of improving our infrastructure. The future of Canada is bright and will continue moving forward. I would like to end this speech by telling Canadians that the Government of Canada is here for you. We will deliver on our promises to create a better Canada for everyone. I would like to remind Parliament once again that we are here for all Canadians and that we are here to do what is right for them, and I ask the Members of this Parliament and the people of Canada to join us in building a better Canada and a better world. Members of the House of Commons, you will be asked to appropriate the funds to carry out the services and expenditures authorized by Parliament. Members of the House of Commons, may you be guided by Divine Providence.

Condition (n.b.): All pens listed below have been disassembled, cleaned and restored with new sacs installed in the last couple weeks. Each of these pens is guaranteed to fill and write as designed without leaks or other problems. Nibs have been adjusted when necessary to ensure that all lay down a smooth and consistent line.
THESE PENS HAVE NO CRACKS (except #2), CHIPS, PERSONALIZATIONS (except #1, #3, #4, and #9), LOOSE OR MISSING PARTS, BENT NIBS, MISALIGNED TINES, BROKEN/WORN OFF TIPPING, OR THREADING ISSUES. ALL PENS IN THIS BATCH HAVE NICE, ROUND ENDS WITH NO DEFORMATIONS.

Line Widths and Writing Samples: To provide buyers with as much information as possible, I have started to adopt the following line width standards: XXF (.1-.2mm); XF (approx .3mm); F (approx .4mm); M (approx .6mm); B (approx .8mm). Nib flexibility is determined by variation (max line width under pressure) and softness (amount of pressure). Flexibility designations based on variation generally run as follows for an XF/F nib: Semi-Flex (approx. 1mm); Flex (1.2-1.9mm); Superflex (>2mm). All line width measurements are taken with a digital caliper but should be considered approximations providing a general guide. Width may vary slightly depending on type of ink and paper used as well as amount of pressure applied. All writing samples are on Rhodia dot paper using Waterman Serenity Blue.

1. c. 1918 Waterman 0552 1/2 LEC (18k GF Plain over BHR, lever filler, 14k XF Superflex nib). This full-length, slender (1/2) model measures 5 1/8” capped. Waterman’s “long-end-covered” (LEC) overlays are generally tougher to find than their open-ended counterparts. This pen is made of black hard rubber with an 18k gold-filled overlay in the plain pattern with knurled barrel-end ('18kt Gold-Filled' stamped on clip and underside of lever globe). Super-Flexible 14k Ideal #2 nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line that widens to a 4B+ (approx 2.4mm) under light pressure (see WRITING SAMPLE). Thin hairlines, strong snap-back, and reliable flow over its full range of flex make it a great choice for calligraphic writing styles such as Copperplate and Spencerian. Condition: excellent- [B-]. The side of the barrel bears a professionally engraved inscription in elegant Copperplate script: “From Film Boys of New Haven” (see album photo) What an enigmatic message! Google hasn’t much to offer about these film boys. Perhaps it was a gift to the owner of an early movie theater, or one of the employees upon his/her retirement? In addition to this is a professionally engraved monogram “I.L.” on the captop – an unusual place for a monogram. This pen is free of brassing apart from a thin sliver around the top edge of the cap’s crown. There are no full-fledged dents on the overlay, but there are a couple pin-sized dings on the barrel and several on the cap, mostly grouped around the breather hole right of the clip (see timestamp photo). None so big as to detract from the beauty of the pen. There is also one short scratch above that breather that penetrates the plating (see timestamp photo). Other than that, the pen is quite clean. Hard rubber is factory black. Manufacturer imprints on the barrel and cap as well as model stamp on barrel-end are factory deep. A lovely writer with an alluring history. Price: $300 $280 SOLD

2. 1920s Redipoint Overlay (GF, lines pattern, lever filler, 14k XF Flex nib). This full-sized model measures 5” capped. This gold-filled (marked “rolled gold,” which is the same thing) all metal pen is made by the Ingersoll Redipoint company, once based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Smart vertical line pattern on cap and barrel. Flexible 14k Redipoint #2 nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line that widens to a 3B+ (approx 1.7mm) under moderate pressure. Thin hairlines, strong snap-back, and reliable flow over its full range of flex make it a good choice for shaded writing and expressive styles (see WRITING SAMPLE). Condition: fair [D]. This pen would grade as near mint were it not for a tight hairline crack in the barrel threads (DETAIL PHOTO). The cap still screws on and off securely without cross-threading. And since the barrel is metal, I wouldn’t expect it to worsen with regular use. This has significantly factored into the price all the same. This pen is otherwise close to flawless: no dents, dings, brassing, deep scratches or other notable flaws. Manufacturer imprints on cap are deep and fully legible. Price: $70 SOLD

3. 1920s US Fountain Pen GF Telescoping Pen (18k GF, checker and bar pattern, lever filler, 14k XXF Wet Noodle nib). This 3-part telescoping pen measures a lengthy 6 1/4” fully extended (without the cap) and a handy 4 1/4” retracted and capped. But you can essentially choose your length by partially extending either barrel section. The US Fountain Pen Company, once based in New York, is an obscure, first-quality manufacturer of the early 20th century. In collector circles they are largely known for this early collaboration with Parker to produce telescoping ringtop pens with gold overlays: pens that had extra sections over the barrel that retracted for added length. This pen exhibits all the quality and exquisite details of the Watermans, Wahls, and Parkers in this batch. And thanks to its 3-part barrel construction, it has a substantial heft in the hand. Cap is marked 18k gold-filled and is machine turned in a checker line and bar pattern. Ring at the top for attaching to a chatelaine or pocket chain. Two barrel sections retract smoothly yet hold securely while writing, revealing the lever with which the pen is filled. This pen came to me nibless, so I’ve performed one of my custom dip-pen nib retrofits that’s a particularly good match, performing with the same smoothness and consistency under flex as a factory nib. That 14k iridium-tipped nib, stamped Winsor & Mason, is a Wet Noodle with painterly softness and flow. It lays down a smooth and consistent XXF line that widens to a 4B+ (approx 2.0mm) under minimal pressure (see WRITING SAMPLE). Don’t be misled by the max line width, which is about as wide as they come for a nib this size. This nib is soft, the tines widening at the slightest variation in pressure. Needlepoint hairlines, strong snap-back, and reliable flow over its full range of flex make it an ideal choice for calligraphic writing styles such as Copperplate and Spencerian. Condition: excellent [B]. This pen has a professionally engraved monogram (“WGD”) on the cap indicia designed for this purpose – a common practice for precious metal pens. The pen is free of brassing, dents, or dings apart from a couple pin-sized dings close-together on the barrel visible in the first phot and some shallow indentations on the bulbous portion at the barrel-end. The only other noteworthy blemish is some wear to the section overlay – common on metal sections from contact with inner caps when screwed down. On the whole, a fine example of a highly uncommon pen with an ingenuous design – quite a lovely writer too! Price: $360 SOLD

4. c.1917-21 Sheaffer Gold-Filled Overlay Ring Top (GF over HR, checker and bar Gothic pattern, lever filler, 14k XXF/XF Superflex nib). Measures 4" capped and 5 1/8" posted. It was Walter A. Sheaffer who first patented the lever-filling fountain pen in 1908. In 1912 he founded the Sheaffer pen company and his revolutionary design was met with resounding acclaim. Most of their model lineup in this period – before stiff, manifold nibs became the rage in the mid-20s – was comprised of simple black hard rubber pens with long-tined gold nibs. They are every bit as flexible as early Waterman's, which are more common today, but Sheaffer's are typically more responsive (having stronger snap-back). This ring top model has a gold-filled overlay in the checker pattern Waterman called “Gothic.” Super-Flexible 14k Sheaffer Self-Filling #2 nib lays down a smooth and consistent XXF/XF line that widens to a 4B+ (approx 2.1mm) under light pressure (see WRITING SAMPLE). Thin hairlines, strong snap-back, and reliable flow over its full range of flex make it another great choice for calligraphic writing styles. Condition: excellent [B]. This pen bears an ornately elegant monogram in Gothic script on the barrel indicia designed for this purpose – a common practice for precious metal pens. The overlay is free of brassing but for a thin sliver around the edge of the barrel-end. No dents or dings, but there are some small spots on the cap near the breather holes where the surface appears a little irregular but the plating is intact, also one notable short scratch above (see DETAIL PHOTO). Hard rubber portions are factory black with no fading. Manufacturer imprints deep and fully legible. Price: $200 $180 SOLD

5. c.1917-21 Sheaffer Gold-Filled Overlay Ring Top (plain GF over HR, lever filler, 14k XF/F Wet Noodle Nib). Measures 4" capped and 5 1/8" posted. For more on early Sheaffers, see #4 above. This elegant ring top is made of hard rubber with a gold-filled overlay that is plain aside from 4 sets of mechanically etched double lines. 14k Sheaffer Self-Filling #2 nib is a Wet Noodle in no uncertain terms, having the softness and flow characteristics of a dip pen nib. It lays down a smooth and consistent XF/F line (depending on ink) that widens to a 4B+ (approx 2.6mm with Gray measured at the rightmost loop) under minimal pressure (see WRITING SAMPLE - please excuse feathering from a bit of water left in the pen after flushing). I had to slow down a lot with Serenity Blue for the sake of consistency under full flex, so I switched to Omas Gray, which solved the problem altogether. So some ink experimentation might be in order to find the ones that perform best. Thin hairlines, superbly responsive snap-back, effortless variation, and reliable flow over its full range of flex make it an ideal choice for calligraphic writing styles such as Copperplate and Spencerian. Condition: excellent- [B-]. Plain overlays like this one are especially prone to showing blemishes hidden by patterned ones. This one shows no deep scratches or anything I’d call a dent, but there are some pin-sized dings here and there, particularly on the knurled barrel-end (see timestamp photo). There are also thin slivers of brassing around the edge of the cap’s crown and around the end of the barrel overlay on the nib-side. There is also one tiny mark on the right tine behind the tipping that’s merely cosmetic, having no affect on how the nib writes. Hard rubber retains its factory black color with no fading. “Sheaffer’s” engraving on barrel overlay is deep and fully legible. Price: $200 SOLD

6. 1920s Wahl All-Metal Pen (GF, Grecian Border pattern, lever filler, 14k XXF Superflex nib). Measures 4 1/4” capped and 5 3/4” posted. A relative latecomer to the FP market in the late 1910s, Wahl applied the manufacturing techniques it had long used to make mechanical pencils to the production of a new, "all metal" fountain pen (as opposed to metal over hard rubber). Over the course of the 1920s, these pens became a canvas for a plethora of Art Deco patterns, which where mechanically engraved into the pens – or "engine turned," as the catalogues put it. This gold-filled example exhibits the pattern Wahl called “Grecian Border,” complemented by Art Deco clip stamped “Wahl.” Super-Flexible 14k Wahl Pen #2 nib lays down a smooth and consistent XXF that widens to a 4B+ (approx 2.1mm) under light pressure (see WRITING SAMPLE). Needlepoint hairlines, superbly responsive snap-back, and reliable flow over its full range of flex make it another great choice for calligraphic writing styles. Condition: excellent [B]. Metal has no dents, dings or brassing. But there are 3 short scratches that bear mention: one in the center of the clip, one on the side of the cap (see timestamp photo) and one of the same size on the blank barrel indicia. Otherwise this pen is near mint – even the delicate section is clean. Manufacturer imprints are deep and fully legible. Price: $230 SOLD

7. c.1918 Wahl Hand-Engraved Sterling Tempoint Overlay (Sterling Silver over HR w/ hand-engraved Art Nouveau pattern, lever filler, 14k XF Wet Noodle nib). This short, standard girth model measures 4 5/16” capped and 5 7/8” posted. Having purchased the assets of the Boston Fountain Pen Company, Wahl began manufacturing fountain pens in 1917. Wahl’s first pens were essentially rebranded Bostons and Tempoints (a NY company they acquired in 1918). Tempoints are harder to find than later Wahls by a long chalk and are commensurably more desirable – especially the overlays. This one differs from the Wahls to follow in that it's not an all-metal pen but a sterling silver overlay (as marked) atop hard rubber. Pen has a substantial heft in the hand. The overlay is deeply and ornately hand-engraved in a highly uncommon pattern comprised of a beautiful, dramatically burgeoning flower on the cap and a leaf-and-flower motif on the barrel enframing the indicia for engraving, which has been left blank in this case (DETAIL PHOTO). The hand-engraved details are deeper and more exquisite than you’ll find on hand-engraved Vines from Waterman, Sheaffer, et al. The work is downright masterful, and IIRC this pattern was only available on this smaller model. Patented, functional roller clip on the cap. And to top it off, the 14k Wahl Tempoint #2 nib is a Wet Noodle with flow and softness rivaling that of a dip pen nib. It lays down a smooth and consistent XF line that widens to a 4B+ (approx 2.5mm) under minimal pressure (see WRITING SAMPLE). Thin hairlines, superbly responsive snap-back, effortless variation, and reliable flow over its full range of flex make it an ideal choice for calligraphic writing styles such as Copperplate and Spencerian. Condition: excellent/near mint [B+]. This pen comes from my personal collection, some 20 years in the making. As with other sterling silver pens, I’ve opted to polish it modestly to enable it to develop a nice patina. Any darker areas you’re seeing are that patina, not damage. The sterling surface has no dents, dings, deep scratches, or other notable blemishes. And hard rubber parts are factory black with no fading. Manufacturer imprints are deep and fully legible. A museum-quality example of a rare pen and another delightful writer. Price: $370 SOLD

8. 1919-25 Parker Acid-Etched Sterling Ring Top (Sterling Silver, acid-etched Brocade pattern, button filler, 14k XF/F Stubby Semi-Flex nib). This short model measures 4 5/8” capped and 5 5/8” posted. There were many ways to apply a design to an overlay, ranging from hand engraving (see #7) to machine turning (see #6). But for a brief period, Parker experimented with a process whereby acid was used to chemically etch the pattern into the overlay. The result, as on this example, is an intricate pattern made up of thin vertical lines that has an appearance all its own. These pens are quite rare and I’ve never seen a full-sized variant. This sterling silver example (as marked) displays what Parker called the Brocade pattern – a design that has no precedent or analogue on other overlays. This pen is a ring top designed to attach to a chatelaine or pocket chain. Also notable are the intricately knurled cap crown (threaded) and blind cap, which are both solid sterling as opposed to the hard rubber commonly used for other Parker overlays. All of this gives it a substantial heft in the hand for its size. This pen is a button filler. To fill simply remove the blind cap, submerse the nib, and depress the metal button once. Lucky Curve “Xmas” Tree feed is a match for the 14k Lucky Curve #2 nib, a Semi-Flexible writer that lays down a smooth and consistent XF/F line that widens to a 2B/3B (approx 1.2mm) under moderate pressure (see WRITING SAMPLE). The nib has a Stubby character though I’m not sure I’d call it a full-fledged Stub – cross-strokes being slightly thinner than down-strokes. Condition: excellent [B]. This pen comes from my personal collection and is the fruit of 20 years hunting the best example I could find. I believe I’ve only saw 2-3 of these in all that time. As with other sterling silver pens, I’ve opted to polish it modestly to enable it to develop a nice patina. The sterling surface no deep scratches or other notable blemishes aside from 3 inconspicuous dings on the barrel that blend into the pattern. Due to the all metal construction of the barrel, these could be smoothened by a professional with the properly sized mandrel. Manufacturer imprints on cap are deep and fully legible. A rare pen and an interesting piece of Parker history. Price: $350 SOLD

9. 1919-25 Parker Sterling Ring Top (Sterling Silver, plain, button filler, 14k XXF/XF Superflex nib). This short model measures 4 5/8” capped and 5 9/16” posted. This pen is identical to #8 but with an elegantly understated plain overlay and a larger #3-size nib. It’s made of sterling silver (as marked) with ring top on cap designed to attach to a chatelaine or pocket chain. Intricately knurled cap crown (threaded) and blind cap are both solid sterling as opposed to the hard rubber commonly used for other Parker overlays. All of this gives it a substantial heft in the hand for its size. This pen is a button filler. To fill simply remove the blind cap, submerse the nib, and depress the metal button once. Lucky Curve “Xmas” Tree feed is a match for the 14k Lucky Curve #3 nib. That nib is a Super-Flexible writer that lays down a smooth and consistent XXF/XF line that widens to a 4B+ (approx 2.0mm) under light pressure (see WRITING SAMPLE). This pen especially excels in the snap-back department, having a surgical precision that responds to the slightest variation in pressure. By far the snappiest of the batch. That as well as its thin hairlines and reliable flow over its full range of flex make it another great choice for calligraphic writing styles. Condition: excellent [B]. Another pen from my personal collection. This pen’s barrel bears the professionally engraved name of “L. Ott” in a highly stylized script. No deep scratches, dents, dings, or other notable flaws aside from one small ding on the barrel to the top right of the monogram in the timestamp photo. Manufacturer imprints on cap are deep and fully legible. Not as scarce as #8 but no sterling overlay by Parker is exactly easy to hunt down these days. And this one has a nib that’s guaranteed to please. Price: $330 SOLD
