2024.05.14 15:11 Ok-Association8471 Best 50cc moped to buy?

My height is about 185cm, weight 68-69kg. I am 16 (in my country you can ride a 50cc with a AM license, Lithuania) i've had experience riding a 125cc 4 stroke dirt bike since i 14 years old. Mostly around neighborhood, or offroad on somewhere. I know the hang of it. So it won't be a problem riding a 50cc. But i do want to buy now a street legal 50cc so i can go to my high school since i live really far away from it and my parents have to take my other 2 siblings and me to different schools, not very reliable. I figured a 50cc would be great to ride to my high school, somewhere else etc. on my own. Preferably would be a reliable one, many mod choices. Budget around 1500€?

2024.05.14 15:07 smartesteveryday My reasons for not donating to Creators for Palestine

Hi there,
I wanted to take the time to write out a detailed explanation as to why some people might be hesitant donating to charitable organizations and why I personally would be in the 5% of people who would not follow Ludwig's recommendation of donating to Creators for Palestine. I'm also not here to be antagonistic towards others who donated but merely offer my perspective and decision making process as someone who has gathered knowledge about economics as well as psychology due to curiosity, specifically when it comes to the potential for corruption and ensuring money spent is used towards the expressed goals a charitable organization is expressing.
I also wanted to thank Ludwig for his respectful acknowledgement of the fact that not everyone would be prepared to donate like he did. I don't like how he's been treated for doing that and perhaps offering my perspective in detail will give some weight to that perspective and get people to empathize with both my position and his intent to validate others who see things differently.
World economics is something I became curious and interested in due to the 2008 financial collapse. It seemed mindboggling to me that various trusted institutions would engage in manipulative behavior on such a massive scale, something that many documentaries have covered as well as the movie The Big Short.
My interest did not stop there. A lesser publicized story regarding the HSBC also manifested between then and now that shares insights into how our modern economy operates and how that manipulative behavior, which has yet to be criminalized and legislated against, is leading to funding organizations who are harming the public at large.
There have been little amendments to accountability as a whole and charities, are also entities that are financial institutions that can be used for illicit purposes as they exist in this very space that lacks proper oversight and regulations due to what is permitted on the global economic stage which is the hiding of assets and the effortlessness of creating corporate entities out of thin air. We've seen evidence of this being reported as well when it comes to charitable organizations claiming they're doing something for a cause, only to funnel that money towards harmful and exploitative actors.
Basically, if you have the capital, you can set up a meeting with a law firm, assign a signatory, or even hire one through them and whatever happens with that account, is going to be completely untraceable and outside of public scrutiny. One of the reasons we now have this information is due to the tireless work of the ICIJ and their release of the Paradise Papers as well as other investigative works they undertook regarding the offshore economy.
Because of this, for me, a charitable organization needs to have an established record and a history of demonstrable humanitarian support, in order for me to sign up with them. Things like food banks for example, will have a long history of providing a population food. In fact, one of the best things you can do is give them money as they will be more effective when it comes to meeting demands vs having a surplus that is perishable and can expire.
When one looks at the PCRF, one can see that it was established in 1991. That means there's a longstanding record of their operations and effectiveness. However, when one looks at that record, one is met with some startling discoveries.
One such discovery is that its operational budget for 2021 was 13.7 million, which is money that didn't get to the children of Palestine. It took in 21.7 million, which means that only 7.3 million dollars of that money was supposedly provided to relief efforts. That's like 33%.
Then you have the instance of the US Treasury deciding to freeze its assets on suspicion that it was funneling money to Hamas, which we've seen in the current economic climate and through history, is a very real threat. And that's just the tip of the iceberg as you can see on the page that I linked.
Lets say for the sake of argument that these concerns are unfounded though and that the operational costs in 2021 were justified due to the challenges of getting aid to that area of the world and that the US Treasury was engaging in a complete witch hunt and everything else has some sort of reasonable explanation.
Why, would one require a fourth party, through Tiltify, in order to then give money to the PCRF? It does not make any logical sense whatsoever to me, especially when they are actively taking a cut of charitable donations as well. The PCRF has its own website with a fully functional donation page, why involve a fourth party in that donation chain?
Another thing I look at, are the people who are leading these charitable organizations.
Michael Wasserman, the founder of Tiltify, his educational background? Is in music. All of a sudden, after embarking into the field he went to school for, this guy makes a drastic career change, launching himself into the field of philanthropy and business. That seems odd to me.
All of these reasons combined are why when someone recommends that I donate to a charity that has shown the potential for corruptive practices, my response is along the lines of no thank you. It's not because I do not empathize with the events taking place in Palestine but it comes from a place of wanting that money to get to the people in need.
When it comes to the psychology at play Dr Ramani is an expert on narcissism and she estimates that about 1 in 6 people are narcissists.
These are individuals who have no empathy to speak of. They know right from wrong but ultimately, people are just things for them to manipulate and control. More often than not, these are the people who find themselves in positions of power and control because they spend a lifetime practicing the art of manipulation and deception so they can obtain these positions by any and all means necessary.
They would have absolutely no problems using an event like what's happening in Gaza in order to gather money for themselves with the illusion of helping others and using people's empathy against them who are looking to donate to a good cause. In fact, they think they're entitled to it.
Narcissists will often do this thing called breadcrumbing where they will give a breadcrumb to someone who is starving either literally or emotionally, in order to give the perception that they are doing something when in reality it's a manipulative self-serving behavior. This would also manifest in a business because we're hierarchical creatures, their presence would lead to them having ultimate power and control over that company, its environment and a business' behaviour would reflect the personality type of that leader.
Empaths, their antithesis? Would be the ones who would take the dollars received and ensure victims get the lions share whilst keeping operational costs down.
Mirjana Spoljaric Egger strikes me as such an individual. An empath. She actually went to Gaza to see and understand the environment she was tasking herself and the organization she represents to help survivors of a historical genocidal attack from Israel at the command of Netanyahu. It seems far more probable to me that funding the International Committee of the Red Cross will achieve the goal of providing relief to survivors in desperate need.
These are the reasons why I take great care choosing what charitable organization to engage with and promote and I think it's perfectly reasonable to do so.
I'm grateful that there are people like Ludwig who respects that however I still felt a need to justify this position due to recent events that made me feel like I was doing something wrong because he was made to feel like he was doing something wrong for simply acknowledging people like me.
And it felt kinda shitty to be honest.

2024.05.14 15:04 Mikalros Trying to remember old kids play zone on Airport Blvd

I was reminiscing with my family and we are struggling to remember an old mom and pop kids play zone business that used to exist on Airport Blvd back in the 2000s. I recall it being near a school and a hospital and just down the road from the old Family Christian Bookstore. I've narrowed it to the area between Davis and 9th. I think it used to exist in Cordova Commons. If it was in Cordova Commons, it was likely where the Total Wine & More is now.
The business had an obstacle course area and a shoe storage rack right at the front with a check-in counter. It had birthday rooms on the back left of the space. The primary attraction was the Chuck E Cheese style raised tubes, nets, and slides that took up most of the right side of the building. Does anyone remember the business name? I can't find it via normal search methods.

2024.05.14 15:02 Horror-Impression411 Does this sound like a flare?

I am not formally diagnosed (just “sub clinical” despite my levels actually being overt as of last Friday. My TSH was .180 and t4 was 2.3. T3 normal). I had surgery on Wednesday for something unrelated, I kind of forgot I even had thyroid issues until then. I’ve been brushed off every time I go in, they want to watch and wait. I never realized I even had symptoms until now, they didn’t tell me what to look for.
As of the past month I’ve felt hot (brushed it off as getting used to the summer heat) flushing face easily (chalked that up to teenage hormones) and I’ve had pretty bad heart palpitations since middle school (around the time I found out I was sub clinical hyper) which I was told was anxiety. I’m on verapamil for them now since they are severe. My hands shake like I’m on amphetamines or something and people actually notice it.
I had a cold and then right after had surgery last week. Since then I haven’t felt right. I’m shaky, no appetite, I’ve lost weight, hot all the time, and I can’t sleep. I average about 4-6 hours a night. My heart rate is sitting high (100-120).
I didn’t know my thyroid was high until last Friday when I went to the ER for passing out and heart palpitations and they tested me on a whim. I had runs of NSVT all day. It came back high. My palpitations didn’t happen in the hospital so they discharged me (inst that always how it’s is? Sigh
). They told me to follow-up with my endo but I have been discharged from them. My PCP checks my blood work every 6 months. They dismiss me despite the fact that I have antibodies (just barely below upper normal limits) and my TSH has never been normal. My t4 is sometimes abnormal but not always.
How can I deal with all these symptoms until I get someone to listen? They keep telling me a T4 of 2.2 is just my “normal” and the reference ranges aren’t really accurate anyways. I feel awful. Could surgery have caused this latest worsening? I haven’t ingested extra iodine or anything.

2024.05.14 14:52 emaxwell13131313 What are some especially good movies to watch about kids who are ostracized, bullied, tormented and so on for being abnormal?

Ideally it would be besides Carrie, including any modern Carrie reboots, Heathers and Mean Girls, which naturally would be the primary selections.
Any movies made in the past 15 years in this vein, if they exist, would be great too. And naturally, it could be elementary school, middle school or high school, genre could be Coming of Age, Horror, Comedy, Satire and so on. Films about social outcasts, rejects and/or in general having to face torment and rejection by everyone.
Movies in the vein of a modern Welcome to the Dollhouse as one example for anyone familiar with that one. Any others in that direction.

2024.05.14 14:39 Leading_Train8397 Education-related

Sorry this is so long 😱 I am a university student. At the beginning of the term, I experienced a pattern of deliberate harassment targeting my disabilities, culminating in physical aggression. The primary aggressor, a fellow student and a member of my cohort, engaged in an escalating series of actions that included derogatory comments specifically about my disabilities as well as physical intimidation. This harassment peaked when student accosted me in a threatening manner. The specificity and nature of student's actions, directed at my disabilities, suggest that this harassment could be considered a hate crime under federal law, as it was motivated by bias against my disability.
Despite multiple attempts to report these incidents and express my concerns about my safety, I faced significant obstacles within the university’s administration. My faculty member for the class not only refused to allow me to report the incidents, ignored my repeated expressions of concern for my personal safety, yelled at me for trying to report, and ultimately disciplined me without cause. Furthermore, the associate dean during a recorded discussion, explicitly stated her prioritization of the university’s reputation over addressing student safety. She expressed a preference for handling such complaints internally rather than involving outside police, and stated that campus security would defer to the school rather than take necessary actions to investigate or address the matter properly. In fact, in the recording this dean alluded to this happening many times, stating "a lot of things have happened that haven't made the news."
I also contacted the school's office of civil rights and set up a phone interview for a later consultation. After they contacted them on the phone they told me they would not create a report, just some intake notes. The intake person expressly told me that this was only an intake, no report or complaint would be filed. They would take notes, discuss with director of this office as to whether they would take action at which time I would need to file a formal complaint and they would write a report. After not hearing back within their specified time frame I contacted the university’s Office of Civil Rights and learned the employees there dismissed my case without adequate justification. I asked for more info and was told they forwarded my "report" to the sr. associate dean and stated to me no civil rights violations occurred. I was totally shocked because this was against what they said their procedure was. I asked for a copy of the "report" and was very shocked to see it absolutely full of deliberate lies, serious omission and designed like a targeted attack against me. My concerns were minimized, the seriousness of the events were omitted and all the relevant information excluded. I did file a complaint with local law enforcement when the incident peaked, and this detail was left in the "report" by the school's civil rights report but as if I made a false criminal complaint. I was also hearing different reports from the sr assoc dean that the official report was that a student tapped me on the shoulder and I went off. This never happened. So far everything I have heard, read or been told has contained falsifications and misrepresentations of my statements, deliberately altering the severity and nature of the incidents reported. This office failed to accurately record my experiences and intentionally downplayed the seriousness of my situation, and later forwarded the report to the Dean without my knowledge or consent, intentionally compromising the integrity of any future investigative process.
My efforts to seek justice and safety have been documented through various means. I have maintained written correspondence, including emails and text messages with university personnel, that chronicles my attempts to report the harassment and the inadequate responses received. Additionally, I possess recordings that were made by request and approval, that further substantiate my claims regarding the university’s handling of my complaints. I also believe there is security footage capturing the incident that escalated the situation which could corroborate the physical confrontation initiated by the other student.
The school did not help or support my concerns for safety. However, after repeated writing and advocating I was placed in a new clinical team and site with new faculty supervision. The student in question was my close associate and the faculty that refused to acknowledge my complaint is the one replaced.
However we are a cohort. So I see the student at other times and also had to do small group work with them. I repeatedly reached out to all of my faculty about this. Because in addition to the increased potential for physical violence from this student they had also made up false allegations against me. Obviously, it's a mess. Our term is almost over and I just got switched to a new small group, where the new faculty literally took my grade from an A to an F in less than a couple of days. The new faculty graded my work from previous/original small group and failed me on everything. They gave me two failing marks for missing group despite numerous emails regarding safety concerns. The new faculty also doesn't accept my health-related academic accommodations. They also required I do the work of the previous small group as well as this new group. The new faculty knew of my concerns for safety as well as health issues. They offered to walk me to seminar and then proceeded to leave before I noticed and never told me where their small group met. I sent her an email right away and she didn't respond for over 10 hours. So I was late because I had to wait for someone from the group I was joining to respond. So she marked me down for lateness. She also accused me of taking a photo of her (I'm still talking about the faculty) which is very weird. I had my phone propped up on my laptop and was using like a second screen and she was trying to lean over to see what I was doing. There was no test or any cause to suspect I was cheating, etc. Weirdly, the camera part of my phone was against my computer and so obscured.
I am absolutely not sure what to do. The sr assoc dean is very pushy and made numerous phone calls to me. I had hoped that she was on the up and up but after reading what they sent from the school's civil rights office to her, I told her that all correspondence must be written due to discovering multiple false reports and misinformation. I also asked for all notes, reports, info on my case -no response to that but she did say ok to emails.
I did file a complaint with the U.S. Dept of Justice office of civil rights since the student was targeting my disabilities and I reported the problems with trying to go through the school. I will also file a complaint with the US Dept of Ed office of civil rights shortly.
What the hell can I do here? This is a healthcare degree and I have one term left ---but I won't because this new faculty dropped my grade to an F. I was suspicious of this fac to begin with and was sickened when told I was being transferred to her. Today was the first day I was officially in her class. She works fast.
Any legitimate suggestions? I need a lawyer but don't know where to begin. Also, I want this fixed now before it goes any further. I have sent an email to my academic advisor. But I really don't trust anyone at my school.

When I weighed 59 kg and had to took school pictures I was so stocky I hate it! I want to be willow-y, elegant and lean, not stocky! I've lost weight and my ribs are showing but I still feel fatter than I am! I just want to be 175 cm at least so I wouldn't have to worry about it as much. Also I literally can't burn my face fat no matter what I want to cut off my cheeks they cause me too much acne because they're so fat anyway Or at least if I'm short, give me huge breasts so I could appeal at least to someone and be curvy. Why do I have to suffer on both ends?

2024.05.14 14:09 SilveroFoxy What is thematic essay?

Thematic essay is a unique form of writing in which students explore a specific topic or issue in depth within a historical framework. Rather than providing a central argument, the primary focus is on developing a central theme or idea that runs throughout the piece.
In the thesis essay, students are tasked with investigating primary and secondary schools to gather evidence and support the research of the chosen topic. This often requires critical thinking, interpretation, and data collection from multiple sources.
The basic elements of a thesis essay include a clear topic statement that addresses a central theme or argument, supported by evidence from historical events, literature, or other relevant sources.
Through the art of dissertation thesis, students develop essential skills in research, analysis, and critical thinking, which are valuable for academic success and beyond.

Entering the rewarding field of healthcare often necessitates a complex yet crucial process: provider credentialing services . For aspiring doctors, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, navigating credentialing requirements can feel overwhelming. This comprehensive guide empowers you with the knowledge and tools to demystify the credentialing process, ensuring a smooth and efficient journey towards practicing your chosen profession.

Understanding Provider Credentialing: The Gates to Practice

Provider credentialing is the process by which healthcare organizations and insurance companies verify the qualifications of healthcare professionals. It ensures that those providing care meet the necessary standards of education, training, licensure, and experience to deliver safe and effective patient care.

The Credentialing Process: A Step-by-Step Breakdown

The credentialing process can vary slightly depending on the specific profession, healthcare organization, and state regulations. However, here's a general breakdown of the key steps involved:
  • Gather Required Documentation: Assemble all necessary documents, typically including diplomas, transcripts, licenses, certifications, malpractice insurance information, and CV or resume.
  • Primary Source Verification: Healthcare organizations and credentialing bodies often verify your information directly from issuing institutions, such as medical schools and licensing boards.
  • Review by Credentialing Committee: A committee of qualified healthcare professionals will review your application and documentation to ensure you meet all eligibility criteria.
  • Fingerprinting and Background Checks: Background checks and fingerprinting are standard procedures in most credentialing processes.
  • Interviews (Optional): In some cases, an interview with a member of the credentialing committee may be required.
  • Credentialing Decision and Issuance: Upon successful completion of the process, you will receive notification of your credentialing status, typically accompanied by a credentialing certificate or agreement.

Valuable Tips for Streamlining Your Credentialing Journey

Here are some valuable tips to navigate the credentialing process efficiently:
  • Start Early: Begin the credentialing process well in advance of your desired start date at a new practice or facility. The credentialing process can take several months, so starting early allows ample time for application review and potential follow-up requests.
  • Be Organized: Maintain a well-organized system for all your credentialing documents. This ensures you have everything readily available when needed and avoids delays due to missing information.
  • Stay Informed: Familiarize yourself with the specific credentialing requirements for your profession and desired practice location. State licensing boards and professional organizations often have detailed information readily available online.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep your licenses, certifications, and other relevant documents up-to-date. Renewals and recertifications should be completed promptly to avoid any interruptions in your credentialing status.
  • Consider Credentialing Services: Credentialing services can assist with the application process, document gathering, and communication with credentialing bodies. While not mandatory, these services can be particularly helpful for managing multiple applications or complex credentialing requirements.

Beyond the Basics: Additional Considerations for Success

While the steps outlined above provide a general roadmap, here are some additional considerations to ensure a successful credentialing journey:
  • Professional References: Secure strong professional references who can attest to your skills, qualifications, and work ethic.
  • Maintain a Positive Online Reputation: Be mindful of your online presence. Potential employers and credentialing bodies may conduct online searches, so ensure your professional social media profiles and online information are accurate and reflect positively on your qualifications.
  • Continuous Learning: Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development by participating in relevant conferences, workshops, and continuing education courses.

Embrace Credentialing as a Stepping Stone

While the credentialing process may seem daunting initially, view it as a crucial step towards your professional goals. By understanding the process, organizing your documents, and following these valuable tips, you can navigate credentialing efficiently and pave the way for a rewarding career in healthcare.

Looking Ahead: The Evolving Landscape of Credentialing

The healthcare landscape is constantly evolving, and credentialing requirements may adapt accordingly. Here are some trends to keep an eye on:
  • Streamlined Processes: Technology and automation may play a more significant role in the future, potentially leading to streamlined credentialing processes.
  • Increased Focus on Quality: The emphasis on quality care may lead to stricter credentialing standards requiring demonstration of competency and patient outcomes in addition to traditional qualifications.
  • Interstate Licensure Portability: Efforts towards increased interstate licensure portability may be implemented, making it easier for healthcare professionals to practice across state lines.
By staying informed about these trends and maintaining a commitment to professional excellence, you can ensure a successful and fulfilling career in healthcare.

Conclusion: Empowering Healthcare Professionals with Knowledge

Demystifying the credentialing services for providers equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools to navigate this crucial step with confidence. Remember, credentialing serves a vital purpose – it ensures qualified and competent individuals deliver care to patients. By embracing this process, healthcare professionals contribute to a stronger and more trustworthy healthcare system for everyone.
As you embark on your journey in healthcare, remember that credentialing is just the beginning. A commitment to lifelong learning, compassionate patient care, and continuous improvement will pave the way for a successful and fulfilling career in this noble profession. We wish you all the best on your credentialing journey and your future endeavors in healthcare!

Hello, so I’m 26 and have always been healthy, I gained about 12 pounds about a year ago making me somewhat overweight at 5’6 and 167, I carry my weight well making people think I don’t even weigh that much. I’ve been going to the gym off and on. I went to the hospital for something unrelated and one of my blood test results said my fasting glucose number was 108 (I hadn’t eaten in 12 hours). There’s no diabetes in my family, I don’t eat horrible but definitely not the healthiest. They didn’t even mention it to me, it just came up on my MyChart. I have an appointment with my primary doctor to check my A1C and fasting glucose again. I think it’s possible my number was thrown off because I was on my period, and sick with constipation that day, but if it’s really sitting at 108 that could be “prediabetic”. I was already paranoid about getting diabetes even though it doesn’t run in my family. But my appointment to go over my blood results with my doctor isn’t for over a month from now and I’m freaking out and spiraling and can’t stop googling, and I’ve already made drastic change to my eating and drinking. Help any advice

2024.05.14 13:52 Historical-Map-1047 AITA for telling 3 of my 4 siblings that they should be more understanding of our oldest sister and thanking her instead of treating her like shit for not celebrating our mother for Mother's Day?

I (22m) am the youngest of my siblings. My oldest sister Casey (31f) is my hero. She has done so much for me and the rest of our siblings (23f, 25m and 26f) and they never acknowledge it and only talk about Casey being a bitch to our mom or saying she should be pulling her weight more when it comes to mom.
Background on our childhood is probably relevant here: Casey never really had a parent. Our parents were both shitty people and our father was in and out of prison. Our mother was super hard on Casey and treated her like shit. Casey is also the kid who looks most like our father. Our mother was never kind or caring toward Casey but she wanted her to be those things for us, so she pushed our mother to take care of us and would be there in the background trying to make it happen. But Casey was often left doing a lot too. She walked us all to school when we were little, she didn't hang out with friends because she was babysitting or taking care of us. Casey's birthday was forgotten for years and it was pretty much every year until I wrote it down and made sure I brought it up so she'd be celebrated. The rest of our birthdays were celebrated because Casey wrote it down for our mother. She knew it was pointless doing it for herself because our mother hated her.
Casey got a part time job when she was 14 and would help pay for stuff. She saved up to go to prom and spent all the money on us because our mother had none at the time. She didn't go to prom. Instead she worked that night for more money.
I always saw it. My siblings always saw our mother as their hero and would get mad at Casey for fighting with mother. They saw our mother as the greatest. And she treated us better generally than Casey but the only reason she was involved with us was because of Casey.
So for Mother's Day this year my siblings all wanted to do this big celebration of our mother because she was diagnosed with chronic liver disease and they fear she won't be around much longer. Casey wanted no part in it. My other siblings were pissed. I told them Casey owed our mother nothing and they fought with me. It was a huge deal and when Casey didn't show up on Mother's Day it set them off. I wasn't there either and I chose to go to Casey's and celebrate with her and my BIL and their kids. My other siblings were being so shitty to Casey in our group chat so I told them they should be more understanding after all Casey had done for us, and I listed examples, and given the fact our mother treated her like shit, and I listed examples. I told them Casey was more deserving of our Mother's Day celebrations and not mother.
They called me a bad son and a bad brother and said I was sick just like Casey.
AITA?

The Financial Landscape for Primary School Teachers in West Bengal

In West Bengal, primary school teachers play an important role in shaping the state's youth. Their pay are decided by a variety of variables, including experience, educational credentials, and government policy.

Starting Salaries and Progression

  • Entry-Level Salaries: For new educators, the starting salary can vary, often influenced by the type of institution (government vs. private) and specific qualifications.
  • Incremental Increases: Teachers can expect periodic increments, which are typically governed by state policies and performance evaluations.

Comparisons with Preschool Teacher Salaries

  • Preschool Teacher Salary: Often, preschool teachers in India, including West Bengal, may start with lower salaries compared to primary school teachers due to different qualification requirements and the private nature of many preschools.
  • Impact of Experience and Location: Salaries for both primary and preschool teachers can vary significantly with experience and the location of the school, reflecting the cost of living and demand for qualified teachers.

Factors Influencing Salary

Several key factors play a crucial role in determining the salary of primary school teachers in West Bengal:
  • Government Policies: State government policies are a primary determinant, with pay scales set according to official pay commissions.
  • Qualifications: Higher educational qualifications and specialized training can lead to better pay scales.
Type of School: Government schools often offer higher salaries compared to private institutions, attributed to standardized pay scales.

Challenges and Opportunities

While the salary of a Primary School Teacher in West Bengal provides a stable income, there are challenges and opportunities that impact their financial growth and professional development.

Challenges

  • Cost of Living Adjustments: Salaries may not always keep pace with the rising cost of living, especially in urban areas.
  • Resource Constraints: Limited resources in some schools can affect the quality of education and teacher satisfaction.

Opportunities

  • Professional Development: Opportunities for further education and training can lead to salary increments and promotions.
  • Technology Integration: Tools like the school parent app are revolutionizing educational methodologies, offering teachers new ways to engage with students and parents and potentially opening up avenues for additional income through e-learning platforms.

The Bigger Picture: Preschools in India

The discussion on salaries extends beyond West Bengal, reflecting broader trends in best preschools in India. Preschool teachers, while pivotal to early childhood education, often navigate financial constraints, highlighting the need for a comprehensive approach to educator compensation across the board.

Nationwide Trends

  • Varied Pay Scales: Across India, preschool teacher salaries vary widely, influenced by regional economic conditions and the private or public nature of the institution.
  • Demand for Qualified Educators: With a growing emphasis on early childhood education, there's an increasing demand for well-qualified preschool teachers, potentially influencing salary structures in the future.

Conclusion: Valuing Education Through Fair Compensation

The pay for primary school teachers in West Bengal and their preschool equivalents reflects broader themes of educational value, recognition, and investment. Fair compensation is critical for attracting and maintaining outstanding teachers, which in turn influences the quality of education delivered to future generations. As West Bengal and India as a whole continue to evolve their educational landscapes, there is promise for a future in which educators at all levels are fairly compensated for their vital contributions to society.
Ensuring that teachers are fairly remunerated is not just about financial security; it's about recognizing the pivotal role educators play in shaping the future. As technologies like the school parent app continue to integrate into the educational framework, they offer new platforms and methodologies for teaching, potentially influencing salary structures and the teaching profession's overall landscape.

2024.05.14 13:45 adonai2018 Beyer 900 Pro X + Hifiman Edition XS = ??? Need perspective, input on options...

I've been using a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X for almost two years, after the original AT M50 (not x) and Sennheiser 280 Pros, so this was my first experience with open back headphones. I've been mostly satisfied with the 900's, though the fit is a bit tight, and I've never enjoyed wearing them for extended periods of time. Which, as my primary use of headphones is for classical music, is at odds with long symphonies or opera.
I recently picked up a pair of Hifiman Edition XS to hear the difference with planars and on many recommendations here with respect to orchestral music. The sound is clearer than the Beyers and more spatial, but with some loss of body. Beyers sound thicker and more compact, like everything just resonates more. XS sound is thinner, but the actual notes are clearer, if that makes sense. I have Equalizer APO/Peace available but have been listening to the default presentations.
Physically, the XS is definitely lighter and a larger, looser fit (maybe too loose?). XS has significant bleed out, making the 900s feel like closed back headphones in comparison. That's not a primary issue, but it's noticeable and something to be conscious of. Both headphones were in the $250-300 range: Beyers were $259 new; XS were $279 refurbished. I'm still in the return window for the Hifimans.
Driving both with an JDS Atom 2 stack with USB from my PC. Normal gain for the Beyers; high gain for the Hifiman.
I'm not looking to build a headphone collection - just want something reliable and comfortable that I can use when my desktop speakers are not an option. Is there a recommended option that has the fuller bodied sound of the Beyers, but maybe a little more comfortable and clearer, or something with the clarity of the Edition XS, but a little more weight to the sound? Max of $500.
Any perspective or input is much appreciated - thank you.

2024.05.14 13:12 Haleodo Relapse

tl;dr - after doing great over the last couple years, I am relapsing hard.
My journey with engaging in ED was not on purpose but it happened suddenly & extremely at 21.
After 2 years, I had lost half my body weight & could barely walk up a flight of stairs. I went to IP treatment out of state only after a great therapist (I’ve had 2 out of >20 my whole life,) insisted, & then bloodwork had shown I was in the early stages of organ failure.
IP treatment was good (anyone who wants more info, I’m happy to share why it was,) & I came back to “real life” & struggled for years. I’d have a great several months then relapse hard.
This went on til about 3 years ago. Basically, I hit rock bottom (which is saying a lot,) & I wanted to be a good mother, wife, & had faith.
Recovery was not something I was new to, but I took it seriously. From tears after snacks, to not being able to eat without someone with me, to dealing with a healthy relationship with exercise, to recovery binges, to not looking at labels. I mean, I was really doing it.
6 months ago I would have said I was 95% recovered. I WFH so if I wanted a snack, I’d go get one. Heck, I could even eat alone without watching or listening something. I’d do cardio ~35 mins daily, only 5-6 a week, but out of love of moving my body. Not a punishment. No biggie if I missed. A major win.
But I’ve relapsed hard & suddenly, it seems.
It was small at first. I noticed if I didn’t have one of two “safe foods” during the day, I wouldn’t eat. I’d wait til dinner, my “safe meal” (I have no problem eating most things for dinner, but even that’s becoming more restrictive in my brain.) So, not sure why suddenly I was limiting myself, but slowly I was. & my “rules” in my brain were coming out of nowhere, seemingly for no reason. But school (returning student,) housekeeping, work (high stress, lots of hours, but love it,) & basically most responsibilities have fallen on me. This is my only guess why I’m struggling?
Then, I had a small tear to my Achilles tendon & my “feet” (to sum it up) are all messed up lol. While that’s being seen after, I’m basically not able to do most things, especially exercise. I can hobble around in my walking boot, but mostly ice & elevating & pain.
So suddenly, I can’t exercise. I’m truly depressed for the first time in years for an extended period. the weight loss has been rapid with my ED coming back so damn suddenly. & I know how bad it is. I know what it does to personality, to my emotions, to how I treat people, to the brain. Let alone all the physical stuff.
I wasn’t seeking it.
It’s just back.
I can’t tell my partner. He was my biggest advocate, but he was hurt the worst due to my mental issues & poor coping abilities (substance abuse coupled with a starved brain & an addiction to purging.)
I don’t struggle with purging really, but I feel unable to be open with my partner as I was for the last 8 years of recovery (I was very secretive & protective of my ED the first time around. Now I’m secretive because of the stigma I gave my own self.)
Idk what to do. I’m going back to therapy as a Hail Mary, but the questioning/accusation coming from my partner are making me angry & also feel like I have to shut down.
Numbers trigger me, so I’ll spare mine. But I was at a healthy weight & where my IP ED treatment dietician said I need to be according to my growth chart & happy enough with my body. I could talk about “ugh these don’t fit so annoying” or my partner couldn’t gently say “you might want to try something else?” & it not trigger me or make me spiral. Now, I look at my legs while I’m sitting & it disgusts me. My weight loss is quite noticeable.
I’m getting to what would be “normal” for my height, but toeing the line for what’s unhealthy & not enough for my brain.
Sorry for the long post. Don’t know what I’m looking for. It’s great to talk to a therapist but idk. I thought I was a success story who could & would help & support others.
Now I’m a secretive, irritable, impatient person who is having to lie about hunger, what I ate, etc. & I was proud of no longer being a liar.
Thanks for reading :(

2024.05.14 12:59 KabrTheFearless Camper Entry Report: Isaac 'Shepard' Sheppard

Camp Half-Blood Official Camper Entry Report #JDB7YC
First report is based on initial interviews with Camp Half-Blood staff. NOT FOR CAMPER VIEWING.
Name Age D.O.B Height Weight Hair Eyes Parentage
Isaac Sheppard 16 August 16th 5'10" 109kg Chestnut Hazel-Green Heracles
Origin
Camper Isaac Sheppard, preferably referred to as 'Shepard' simply has detailed his younger years of upbringing as more typical of what we consider mortal activities. Unaware of his lineage, he was raised by his mother, Jennifer Sheppard, in the boroughs of Hartfort, Conneticut without recorded incident. Shepard hinted towards his mother knowing more but quickly halted further questioning, insisting that she wouldn't have hidden facts from him. Shepard dictated mortal schooling had no outstanding events save his performance in physical sports. Regular disciplining regarding a laxidase attitude at any sports, despite exemplary performance in nearly every field. Shepard stated the only one he liked the sound of was archery but the school's facilities did not support this outside of occasional yearly excursions to more advanced facilities.
Satyr Protector Member 38821 was tasked with investigating a phoned-in anonymous report submitted to Camp Half-Blood of a teenager presenting with physical strength exceeding that of even typical demigods. Whilst this tip-off left no further detailing beyond the city of Hartford and to look for excessive physical capabilities, the suspected caller is believed to be Jennifer Sheppard. Protector 38821 was able to determine Isaac's school and infiltrate his class in order to breach the topic of introducing him to the reality of being a son of the god Heracles. Days later, Hartford Police Department reported arson at the home address of Isaac and Jennifer Sheppard. Isaac presented statements of 'scaled individuals' fleeing the scene but mortal services dismissed these as distressed claims of a teenager in shock of losing his mother. Protector 38821 was able to retrieve Shepard from intervening social services and was in the process of transporting them both to camp via train when they both came into contact with individuals described by Shepard as 'guys but with these glowing eyes and armoured...or metal?'. For reporting's sake, contact is assumed to be hostile automata of origin unknown.
Protector 38821 and Shepard were able to reach Long Island whilst under extended assault from these automata, roughly 7 hours later according to statements from Shepard though accuracy of these estimates is lowered due to stress and high fatigue from protecting both himself and Protector 38821. Shepard openly admits that without the help of campers from Camp Half-Blood, he would not have survived the final stint to camp boundaries and his fate would have matched that of Protector 38821.
Powers:
  • Legendary Strength AKA 'Unstoppable Force' [Minor]
Isaac displays one of the highest levels of strength and stamina known of half-bloods. He has been recorded being able to lift up to 600 lbs. (or 272.16 kg) and can punch through concrete. Thankfully Isaac is aware of this and seems to have been informed of this by his mother for a significant portion of his life and can control this, despite not knowing of his bloodline.
  • Electrical Resistance [Minor]
First displayed during Shepard's extraction to camp, he shows a resistance to the harmful effects of electrical attacks such to a degree that he is able to withstand badly interacting with small appliances.
  • X [Minor]
Shepared has yet to display any further abilities. We do not yet know if this is an intentional action of obscuring them or whether Shepard simpy does not have any more abilities.
  • Herculean Fortitude AKA 'Immovable Object' [Major]
Isaac possesses a complete immunity to mental and emotional power. This includes reading his mental or emotional state. Those who attempt to influence or read his mental state report the sensation of attempting to read a blank slate, an immutable, unreadable presence some have found disconcerting. His presence/location can still be detected by these powers if a user were to attempt to locate him via these abilities. As a side-effect of these powers, he cannot be positively influenced or 'buffed' by other powers, excluding healing magic.
  • Summon Weapon [Domain]
Shepard is capable of summoning a weapon related to his godly parent, though his personal experiences have shaped the typical club that his siblings are capable of spawning into something a bit...scrappier. Whilst not as lethal as a Celestial Bronze weapon, the makeshift maul is entirely capable of lethal strikes when fuelled by Shepard's enhanced strength.
  • Alternate Vision [Domain]
Beginner Tier - Shepard describes this as an overlaid indicator in the form of a customisable crosshair over his own field of view that will show Shepard where an arrow will land if it is loosed at his current draw and aim. By drawing the string further and aim differently, so too will the indicator adjust. Shepard has determined quickly that this does not work with melee or thrown items.
Intermediate level - Shepard partially draws strength from his grandfather’s domain here, completely unable to control the winds beyond the air in his lungs but he can observe them. When the HUD is up, he can determine wind-speed and direction, as well as how that will impact his shot with the aiming indicator being able to now compensate for wind.
Master tier - As Shepard masters this power over time, judging distance, aim, and after regular usage, he is able to use the HUD as a range finder to within a metre's precision.
  • Enhanced Skill Proficiency [Domain]
Isaac shows a increased proficiency in physical activities when he wishes to put the effort in in, particularly those that Heracles was renowned for such as wrestling, fighting, archery, and overall shows of strength.
Personality
Shepard's time at camp is only just beginning, with a greater report on his tendencies and personality still pending until he has shown his hand and can be interacted with. First impressions are guarded, the boy still getting to grips with this introduction of a new reality. Perhaps we may be able to discern more once he has completed what we believe to be a more introspective assessment, determining who he is in Camp Half-Blood and how demigods fit into what is to him, a new world.
Notes
  • No discernible reason behind the dismissal of his first name, 'Shepard' simply being a misspelling of his last name that he has stuck with.
  • Shepard appears to enjoy what he calls 'tinkering', idle adjustment and construction of functionless trinkets or pieces from mechanical parts. Notions of some kind of link to Hephaestus have been dismissed but camp officials may wish to nudge him towards campers with a proclivity of crafting to engage in Shepard's curiosity or ease any initial worries about joining camp
  • Be on watch for any conflicts regarding possessions, as Shepard's rushed retrieval has meant he has arrived at camp with only the clothes on his back. Initial talks with him have shown he is very protective of his 'home clothes'. Whilst he has taken to camp clothing without incident, Shepard may be harbouring thoughts of loss beyond just his mother.
End report. Begin report JDB36T on camper activities.
But the full tale of Shepard is a story we'll hear later. For now, we cut to the boy himself...
Shepard stood out in the open, placing himself accidentally at the centre of camp with his back to the Big House. His two saviours had to depart to carry on with their own business and so the clueless teen turned slowly to attempt to take in the enormity of where he stood, and what that meant for his tomorrow. Hopefully someone noticed the kid not in camp clothes, scratching his head and epitomising the term 'paralysed in indecision', and could offer kind words. Or even better, directions to the bathroom?
