This is the log of the game I posted about last night. I made mistakes. As I mentioned to a very kind person in the comments on last night's post, I'm still feeling my way with Hawkeye and my decisions were not always the best. (Should really, I think, have played Expert Marksman that first round.)
I know game logs aren't everyone's cup of tea, but this one's short(ish). Feel free to ignore.
Tldr: Round 1 Shadow of the Past proved too tricky to work around with a prototype Hawkeye Aggression deck on its first outing.

Well, that was ugly but I'm kind of amazed I lasted as long as I did. As an aside, from a thematic point of view, I really like the Valkyrie/Hawkeye team-up here. Her taking out Crossfire has a certain dramatic potential to it.
Marked For Death with 5 THR is an ugly, ugly card.
Despite this rather brutal beatdown, once again I enjoyed myself. This is such a great game.

Someone I know had gotten a rental from JD Homes but they keep getting pushed back because “it’s not ready” yet and it’s been a whole year or more already and when they decided to go and try to get their deposit back JD Home basically said no because they’re in a contract. I’m not sure what the contract says I haven’t gotten the details but what would you do in this situation? Would contacting housing authority do anything?

Curious to hear what's worked for you all, or ideas you may have here.
At the risk of being the obnoxious guy who introduces himself every post: I am an academy trainer who also does a ton of private training. I typically privately train small groups, versus individuals, and segment those groups by relative ages. So I have a group of 10-11 year olds, a group of 12-14 year olds, and a group of 15-16 year olds.
Every six months or so, I try to have my oldest group mentor one of my younger groups at some formative stage in their soccer careers. Next month, I'm scheduling my high schoolers (15-16 year olds) to mentor my junior high group, many of whom are about to enter their first summer of high school soccer conditioning/tryouts etc. With my high school having been through that process, having made their teams, navigated club around that etc. they are of course perfect role models and mentors for the aspiring high school players.
I'll ultimately use the night to have individual player conversations, and get pizza for everyone after. They'll play inter-mixed on a full (indoor) field at some point, but I want to come up with a few smaller group activities that pair my high schoolers with 1-2 junior high players each.
Curious if you all have ideas on some fun activities or games I could conjure as I put these players in those dynamics.
A few ideas I already had:

• 2v2 mini-tournament (I have a ton of adjacent small fields available) with 1 HS + 1 JR High player paired.
• I have a few bubble soccer sumo bubbles, so I'll probably inflate those and pair them as coach/player combinations.
• Some kind of relay races: Kick Tac Toe, perfect hat trick chipping etc.

There's a bad joke in Gnosis, it goes like this: "How do you know if the fox in front of you is a vulp?" The responder asks how, and the punchline is "Ask them. If they say yes, they're a vulp. If they say no, they're a sarcastic vulp.". It's a dumb joke, but there's a kernel of truth to it: Looking at a vulp that is currently quadrupedal, nude and silent, one would need to inspect their paws to tell they're not an ordinary fox. The reason it's allegedly funny is all three of those are rarities on account of them being people and it's so unlikely you're ever going to be confused that there's supposedly humor in suggesting the hypothetical. (You'll note the words "allegedly" and "supposedly".) Nevertheless, there's a good reason these fox-people look so much like a real fox, and it's because they are a real fox. Let me explain.
This setting's Precursors (if the name didn't tip you off they're so long gone we don't know what they called themselves) felt the need to add "native" sophonts to every one of the four planets and nine moons they terraformed in this one star system, the inner worlds all got multiple, working with samples from some little blue backwater that forgot they were ever there and what little life was on each world to begin with just like they did for the rest of the ecosystem. In this case they literally just took red fox embryos from the aforementioned backwater planet, altered their genes to modify their anatomy and brains in particular so they could fill that role. Their hips are altered to support bipedal locomotion but don't look different externally when quadrupedal and the biggest visible change was moving their tiny fifth digit on their forelimbs closer to the other toes (or I guess "fingers" now), elongating and turning it so it functions as an opposable thumb. Altering existing or extinct animals was how they made all their artificial sophonts, even the really weird ones like the dragons or those things from Lum with eleven heads, but by this point in the timeline they got lazy. They were already on worlds 6-13, they had to light up a brown dwarf as an artificial undersized star to make even eight out of its over two hundred moons habitable. All the creativity by this point in the project was going into "how", not "what" and the biology team was running low on ideas, so they didn't make any extraneous changes like they normally would. Fox, smart brain, paw hands, tweaked hips, boom, fox-person, done. Moon-planet of the fox-people, slap it on a plastic lunch box and get the spy drones set up so the tourists can covertly watch the fox tribes build their brand new fox civilization and fox culture until they have fox cities with fox art and fox fasion and form fox countries with fox governments and intercontinental fox trade networks that fight fox wars motivated entirely by the greed of individual foxes but presented to the poor foxes fighting them as moral crusades in the name of their fox gods and fox nations to preserve their fox values, fox traditions, fox beliefs and way of fox life.
My question is: What do you think of this approach to animal people? What do you think of them looking so much like the existing animal that you have to rely on them doing people things or detailed knowledge of their anatomy to tell they're not the regular animal they're based on?
Or, more bluntly, I think they're lazy and they're supposed to be lazy but are they too lazy or am I good?

I was brainwashed and my emotional center of the brain was killed and turned off. I still have feeling in my external skin, but my internal organs are rotting. I’m sorry, life. I didn’t know I was already dead.”

Was this potential suicide letter in Kris’s car coerced?
Was it her willingly writing it?
You don’t know.
As we have discussed in previous posts, nothing about the Kristin Snyder missing person case makes any sense whatsoever, and the purported “suicide note” found in her vehicle is certainly no exception.
Before we start analyzing the “suicide note,” here are a few factors to keep in mind:
• We know through information from multiple sources that Kristin was a prolific journal writer and letter writer, so we have a plethora of writing samples to compare with this alleged “suicide note.”
• We refer to “the writer” in our discussion of the “suicide note” below. The reason for this phrasing is because the actual writer of this note is unknown. Did Kristin herself write it, either as a explanation for killing herself, or for the purpose of faking her own death? Did someone else write it to make her disappearance appear to be a suicide? Was part of the text written by Kristin and added to by another party? Was the entire note faked? Was the note written by Kristin, but under duress/coercion as Heidi pondered?
• See notes under each section below regarding clear discrepancies between Kristin’s baseline writing style based on the hundreds of writing samples we have obtained from multiple sources through varying times throughout her life.
Now, without further ado, let’s take an in-depth look at this “suicide note” – line by line.
“I attended a course called Executive Success Programs (aka Nexium) based out of Anchorage, AK + Albany, NY.”
• Who is the note intended for? There is no salutation. We have tons of samples of Kristin’s letters and there is always a salutation – AND a date. If this is really her “suicide note,” why wouldn’t she address it to her partner Heidi, friends, coworkers, and/or family – as she always had addressed people in her letters? Similarly, wouldn’t she document the date of the most significant letter of her life, as she did routinely with her letters? In fact, she often even included the specific time (for instance, 7:15 p.m.) that the letter or journal entry was written.
• In addition to a salutation and date on other writing samples, Kris also typically indented her paragraphs and she also usually wrote on each line of the paper in her letters and journal entries, unlike this “suicide note,” which does neither.
• Related to the numerous writing samples we have acquired though multiple sources, Kris also primarily wrote in cursive in both her letters and in her journal. This “suicide note” is an odd hybrid of cursive and print.
• Why would anyone start a suicide note with “I attended a course…”? Clearly, the writer of this note is directing the reader to correlate ESP with the disappearance, but it seems like a very odd place for anyone to start a suicide note. Also, Kris attended two courses, not “a course”; a fact that Kris would have clearly known.
• “aka Nexium” is another oddity. Kris did not take any NXIVM classes, not even one, despite the extensive recent propaganda linking her to NXIVM. Why? Because NXIVM did not even exist at the time of Kristin’s disappearance; it was still in the planning stages. The writer had obviously heard about these plans as evidenced by the phonetic spelling. Again, it is obvious the writer of the note is clearly directing the reader’s attention to ESP/NXIVM – but if Kris were distraught enough to write a suicide note (and as functionally incapacitated as reported by her partner), why/how would she focus on minutiae like this?
• Speaking of minutiae, it gets even more obvious in the next words: “based out of Anchorage, AK + Albany, NY.” First of all, WHO CARES where ESP was based? That is in no way pertinent to the reasoning, and apparently is another clear attempt by the writer to direct the reader toward ESP/NXIVM. Secondly, this information is actually wrong. ESP wasn’t “based out of Anchorage, AK” – they held classes in Anchorage in a rented hotel space. The home base was in NY. Furthermore, Kris knew very well that this information was wrong, having recently visited their NY headquarters herself weeks before her disappearance!
•The words “based out of” (city, state) are odd as well. None of Kristin’s other writing samples did this. Nowhere does she mention elsewhere that anything is “based out of” anywhere in any of her copious writing samples we have obtained.
• Furthermore, why would the note say “Anchorage, AK” anyway? Presumably, Alaska law enforcement would be able to deduce that Anchorage is in Alaska without this unnecessary clarification.
“I was brainwashed + my emotional center of the brain was killed/turned off. I still have feeling in my external skin but my internal organs are rotting.”
• If Kris was brainwashed, she wouldn’t know (at least at the time) that she had been brainwashed. Again, this seems to be yet another clear attempt by the writer to direct the reader to look at ESP.
• Furthermore, if Kris finally did realize that she had been brainwashed, why would she then kill herself?
• The writer switches “my” and “the” in a sentence – something Kris never did, even once, in the hundreds of pages of writing we have obtained. The sentence should read “the emotional center of my brain,” not “my emotional center of the brain.”
• Another oddity is in the redundancy of “external skin.” Again, this sort of mistake does not appear to be Kris’s style, based on other writing samples. She had a Master of Science (M.S.) in Biology and she worked as an environmental consultant to the National Guard. She was a precise, clear, scientific, and articulate writer.
• This passage clearly implies that Kris was suffering from Cotard’s syndrome; per WebMD: “People with Cotard’s syndrome (also called walking corpse syndrome or Cotard’s delusion) believe that parts of their body are missing, or that they are dying, dead, or don’t exist.” We have talked to multiple people who Kris had visited in her January 2003 trip immediately prior to her February 2003 disappearance, and nobody reported any observations of any mental health issues, suicidal ideation, depression, psychosis, nor delusions of any sort. All of the people who discussed Kris’s reported mental health decline stated that they had not personally witnessed any symptoms, but rather, they were told of a rapid decline following Kris’s disappearance.
• If Kris thought she was already dead, why would she kill herself?
“Please contact my parents Bob + Jonnie Snyder at (number redacted) in Dillon, SC if you find me or this note.”
• Why would she specify to contact her parents, who lived out-of-state? Why not her partner? Why, in fact, is Heidi, the love of her life and civil union partner not mentioned AT ALL in the entire note?
• The inclusion of Kris’s parents as the sole contacts listed in the note contradicts a specific story told at the time of the disappearance alleging that Kris had uncovered memories of abuse during the class and that these purported memories were the reason/a factor in her alleged suicide. But: if that story was true, why would she include her father in the note? It should be noted that there is no evidence whatsoever that Kris was abused. As with the alleged rapid mental health decline, people who reported that story were not told of the purported abuse by Kris themselves, but rather, they were told of the purported abuse allegations after her disappearance. In fact, we even have been given a copy of a text message exchange in which the person who spread this abuse claims refers to it as “the lie.” This is yet another example of the myriad of inconsistencies and contradictions that plague Kris’s case.
• Why mention “Dillon, SC”? There is already a phone number given, so the city/state is irrelevant, and also, it is not her typical style. Again, it seems like someone with a quirky tic to mention a city and state wrote this.
• “if you find me or this note” is similarly nonsensical. If someone found her but NOT the note, they wouldn’t see the note, would they? Again, this oddity of wording is inconsistent with Kris’s typically precise style.
“I am sorry, life, I didn’t know I was already dead. May we persist into the future. KRISTN (sic) SNYDER”
• Again, if she thought she was already dead, why would she need to kill herself?
• Why is she addressing “life”?
• “May we persist into the future” is interesting. “Persist into the future” is a phrase used in ecology, which could potentially mean a couple things: a). Kristin wrote this herself; b). Kristin wrote this phrase elsewhere and someone traced/copied it onto the “suicide note”; or c). the writer had seen a document that referred to this phrase and used it.
• WHO LEAVES A LETTER OUT OF THEIR OWN NAME???? The second “I” is missing in “KRISTN.” Furthermore, as mentioned earlier, Kris predominantly wrote in cursive and she typically signed her name in cursive as well. Why, in the most important document of her life, would she BLOCK PRINT her name, and even more bizarre, why would she leave a letter out of her own name? The writer appears to drop letters and cram letters together, but there is no evidence from other writings that Kris did these things.
“No need to search for my body”
• Why was this written on the BACK of the page on the “suicide note”? And why was the note left inside of a notebook to begin with?
• Kris was a member of the Anchorage Nordic Ski Patrol, and therefore, she was involved in search and rescue. Therefore, she would already know that THEY WOULD SEARCH FOR HER ANYWAY. Also, more importantly, why would she intentionally hide her own body and therefore put her colleagues/friends on the search and rescue team through the extensive trouble and potential dangers of conducting the search for her?
• Why write “my body” on the back of the page but write “me” on the front of the page of the note? That is yet another incongruity.
• Why the emphasis on not looking for a body? The writer clearly has a very specific reason to mention this; there is a reason the writer does not want the body found. It is very rare for a person to want to hide his/her own body, and even more rare to be able to successfully do so.

Hi, 25m here and is now completely loss in life. I lost most of my motivation because of one mistake. Kala ko sasagutin ako ng babaeng nililigawan ko if makapasa ako ng board exam of my selected degree.
Nagkakilala kami during our friends wedding, kaklase niya nung college and close friend ko since high school. It was truly love at first sight, we have polar opposites in terms of personality. She's pretty much a person that shines bright throughout her life with her smiles and ako na halos magkakawrinkles na sa noo kasi laging naka sad face. My friend paired me with her kasi he feels na my synergy kami as a pair. After my friends wedding added her on fb and she accepted my request naman din, i tried to make the first convo but it was so out of line kasi 2 araw lang kami nagkakilala, i tried my best naman on our convos, trying my best to avoid being out on line and then it came of our first week of chatting. Being a pessimist, i immediately notice na wala siyang interest saakin on our convos. I felt na ako lang halos yung nagpapahaba ng convo namin i tried to be positive naman thinking na she's just busy with her life since taong simbahan siya and ako naman tambay lang(fresh grad).
Months had passed and im still active to chat her, she started opening some of her personal life din which i thought of that time na shes slowly giving me a chance naman to open up a ligaw. On the 2nd month i openly told her na nagkakagusto na ako sakanya and im planning to ligaw her, personally. Di ko sinabi na babyahe ako ng 4hrs para lang sa pangliligaw but thats what i'm gonna do if she opens up for it. I got rejected, she told me na wala siyang nararamdamang spark saakin, being a pessimist i already predicted that will happen naman and Already braced my self not to feel sad(my other rejections ended up with me crying, calling my friends crying, drunk call crying). I still tried to at least lit a spark with her but with all of my advances getting turned down and thats when i considered myself getting chatzoned. I stopped my advances to her and just chatted her to pass time until one time i opened up na magte-take ako ng board exam and ask her na "if makapasa ako, magkakachance na ba ako sayo?", she replied "let's see". I immediately cranked 80% of my attention on reviewing, having a newfound motivation to push myself in life. During that time I just send her the good o'l goodmorning, good noon, and goodnight. Months past and with my motivation i never get bored of reviewing to the point na akala ng parents ko naglalaro lang ako sa kwarto ng videos games kasi lalabas lang ako pag kakain na. Yes naglalaro parin ako but with the purpose of waking up my brain, one match before reading really does the trick for me and i found out na meron parin pala akong self-control. Fast forward to our exam day, 5am she send me an gif card with a "you can do it" message. With only a pair of tic-tacs and a chocolate everyday as my baon i go and faced our 3 day exam with the hopes na i'll have a chance to be with her. Ayaw ko na i finish but
TL;DR: Di niya ako sinagot, and lost my motivation for my own future. Kinda bobo choice here for me.

Sorry I’ve spent more than half of my life dealing with depression and now I don’t know what to do outside of that.

Edit: for context it isn’t even true. I do spend majority of my time in my room/ the basement but it’s not at all like how they say it is and I do get out. I have to get groceries somehow and have things to do.
I will be told this by my sibling when they’re angry at me or if we’re arguing about something. Then I’ll be asked questions by her friends that I don’t even talk to at all. The situation is overall annoying and I’m not as quick on my toes as I’d like to be. Just want some good comebacks to her bs allegations.

TLDR: The Atlanta Braves baseball team is the only publicly traded baseball team. DFV just posted a picture that was already tweeted by Gamestop, difference being he drew some Red Socks on the image. The Braves played the Red Sox last Tuesday and Wednesday, which led me down an incredible rabbit hole.
I am not a smart man. Just a man, who thinks too much. Even now, I should be getting my last minute Mother’s day gifts together but this won’t leave my brain. Neil Gaiman’s “American God’s” sits unfinished on my dresser but weighs heavily on my mind. This movement feels like the New God’s fighting the Old Gods. Wednesday, Odin’s day of magic, The Braves played the Boston Red Sox and won 5-0 but there was an ill feeling in the air as the message above was broadcast on all the tv’s in the stadium including the big screen over centerfield and for those of us watching from home. Feels like a message was being sent but something caught my eye in the very first sentence. “Bankruptcy”, Cohencidence #1. I started asking myself questions and the most important was, “Who, own’s Bally network?”. The Sinclair Group and Allen Media Group.
The Sinclair Group wasn’t really eye catching for me until I saw Dr. Ben Carson is on the board of directors. Cohencidence #2 as he’s close to Trump, who’s potentially part of this new entity being created. I could taste the tin foil slowly twisting my brain like a hamster named Algernon running non-stop on a hamster wheel, while high thinking “why am I running?”. I click on the about page and see this:

Here’s an article from January 25, 2024 talking about Comcast potentially merging with Warner Brother’s Discovery. The CEO of Comcast denies of course but the owners of Warner have made it known that everything is up for sale. America’s for sale. The way this country has been run economically has got everybody’s money “fucked up” and people are pissed. Which is hard to fathom, when it comes to people who have way more money than the combined generational wealth accumulated by your family.
One such man is Ted Turner. Like Ryan Cohen, he learned lessons from his father, who built a successful billboard company. He started off with CNN before turning into a media mogul and then he bought, The Atlanta Braves. He managed the team for one day May 11, 1977. He owned all of Atlanta’s sports teams at one time. Time Warner would eventually sell off the teams. He’s been through economic downturn before as he watched the company he built be sold off after making decisions to merge with Time Warner in the 90’s and AOL-Time Warner in 2001. It’s estimated the deals cost him 7 Billion dollars. I wonder who advised him.
Ted is a philanthropist. At one time Ted was the largest private landowner in the United States until John C. Malone surpassed him in 2011. Ted brought Buffalo back from dwindling numbers. What once was 30k now boasts numbers well over 400k. He knows how to take things, create something new and make them grow. He’s a 2013 recipient of the Lone Sailor Award, given to Sea Service veterans, who have excelled with distinction in their respective careers during or after their service. I wonder who would be interested? Jeff Bezos, nope he has a “small” position in Diamond Media Group, a subsidiary of the previously mentioned Sinclair Group, who runs Bally Sports. Is he hedging a Bet on a company going through bankruptcy?

That statement sounds an awful lot like someone chose to turn the buy button off. Like they’re making a point. But why point to Comcast? What do they own?

John C. Malone started Liberty media and he’s been dubbed “Darth Vader” in business dealings, allegedly by Al Gore. Makes that Dumb Storm Troopers line hit differently from RC. Malone and Ted Turner are really good friends with similar ideals. Malone has said “I would never step on his toes” for the sake of business. Both have a contentious relationship with media mogul Rupert Murdoch, founder of News Corp. Ted and Rupert have beef from a boating incident and of course John has his good friends back. So, much so, that he starts buying up shares of News Corp. I keep searching until I find these two paragraphs on Liberty’s Wiki page:

There's a TLDR at the bottom.
I stumbled across an old cranium cadoo game at a 2nd hand shop. We replaced the old crusty Playdough with some new play dough and gave it a try last night.
It was fun but it became very obvious that the game was intended for very young children, and as such was far too easy for adults. There are for instance instantly spottable spot the difference cards. There are cards that are super easy questions e.g what word do the pictures combine to make?: 📌🅾️🔑🅾️ (pinnochio) or what is logically wrong in this picture and there is clearly only one person on the seesaw and yet that person is raised up. Etc.
There were also problems with the game play itself. Basically each person has a pile of tokens that you can use to place in a grid the goal is to complete connect four. If you have a combo card then the person who guesses what you've drawn, sculpted, or acted will share the same grid section as you, but if you have a solo card then only you have to figure out the answer yourself and so only you get that square. There is a dice that has 3 options (combo card, solo card, or you choose) obviously if the end goal is to place tokens and to prevent others from placing tokens then it makes sense to always choose solo. Therefore 2 thirds of the time you're solving the way too easy logic cards as described above, rather than the combo cards while combo cards are really the only ones that can potentially be a challenge.
The only solocard challenge that could potentially have difficulty is the scavenger hunts however us being the lazy adults that we are all of the scavenger hunt cards were skipped.
The combo cards rely on the card taker looking through red lenses to see a secret word that others have to guess. Through pictionary, charades, or sculpting. These were the funnest cards, but we found that everyone else at the table had difficulty in reading the secret word. My mother in law had the most difficulty and could not read any of the words regardless of lighting scenarios, no matter how hard she tried to maneuver the card and lense to see, whenever she got a combo card she had to make up a random word instead of using the secret word, because if she can't read it then the only alternative would be for someone else to read it which basically forfeits their round. The other 2 players were able to read the card but stated that they struggled and had to look at it at a precise angle. I was the only one that could clearly see the word through the lens regardless of what angle i was holding it at. I theorize that this is because I am the only one without glasses, and all 3 others had glasses, perhaps their glasses and the red lense badly interfere with each other? My MIL as well as having glasses had laser eye surgery to improve their vision which might be why she was the only one completely unable to read the words? It is worth noting that the issue was not the size of the words as all three are able to see small words as long as they are wearing their glasses.
No one ever made connect four, just like 2 adults of reasonable intelligence going up against each other will never have a winner at tic tac toe. But luckily in such a scenario the game can still be won by whoever has the most tokens down.
We had a lot of fun with the combo cards as acting drawing and sculpting is enough of a challenge. It was also a lot of fun blocking everyone from making connect four.
Because it was a lot of fun but just aimed at a too young audience, I figured it might be a good idea to see if there are other cranium games that were made more for adults rather than for young children, and well there are a lot of different versions. I have no idea which ones are better than the others what kinds of cards they have or their difficulty levels. Or what game play would be missing. I'm not particularly any good at trivial pursuit for instance so while I'm hoping to avoid another young kids game I also don't want the difficulty levels to be too high.
TLDR: I don't know which cranium game I should get next, there's just so many, and I don't know their difficulty levels, I don't know what gameplay is missing or added to each or primarily what kinds of logic cards are in each game. Cranium cudoo had fun moments but is aimed at a far too young audience. Trivial pursuit on the other hand is too far in the other end.
