Please forgive me if cross posting isn't allowed, first timer. Surprised he didn't post it here.
These last few days have seen the most extreme price run since, arguably, the "Sneeze" of January 2021. There is a major difference, though, which is regarding the Regulation SHO Threshold List. To remind you, a stock is included in this list if meeting the below critieria:

"Threshold securities are equity securities that have an aggregate fail to deliver position for five consecutive settlement days* at a registered clearing agency (e.g., National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC)); totaling 10,000 shares or more; and equal to at least 0.5% of the issuer's total shares outstanding."*
So what happens if a stock makes it onto the Regulation SHO Threshold List?
"If a participant has a failure to deliver that the participant can demonstrate on its books and records resulted from a long sale, or that is attributable to bona fide market making activities, the participant must close out* the failure to deliver by no later than the beginning of regular trading hours on the third consecutive settlement day following the settlement date."*
What if they are unable to do so, and the FTDs continue for some time without resolution?
"if, for whatever reason, a participant of a registered clearing agency has a fail to deliver position at a registered clearing agency in a threshold security for 13 consecutive settlement days, the requirement to close-out such position under Rule 203(b)(3) remains in effect."
I still don't think anyone can precisely say what really happened behind the scenes in late 2020 and early 2021. But we do know certain facts:
▪︎ GME was added to the Regulation SHO Threshold List on 8th December 2020
▪︎ It continued to be on that list throughout the rest of December and early January 2021
▪︎ The share price remained relatively stable for more than 20 trading days during this period
▪︎ Only then on 13th January 2021 did the share price blow up to start the "Sneeze"
▪︎ Meaning that although the stock being placed on the list was undoubtedly causing some kind of intense pressure on failing-to-deliver institutions...it did not impact the share price for many weeks
So what is this key difference between those mechanics 3.5 years ago, compared to what may be happening with GME now? In my opinion, it is the continued absence (at least up until yesterday) from the Regulation SHO Threshold List:

Since Monday 13th May, hundreds of millions (now billions?) of shares have been traded of this stock. But even before that, the price did nearly double from Tuesday 23rd April through to last Friday 10th May. This kind of volatility indicates that there has been a battle raging, most likely with nefarious parties continuing to use illicit methods to try and keep the price from exploding more than it already has. With almost all the methods they can employ, we know there is one result is: more FTDs.
My guess is that at some point - perhaps even this evening - GME gets added to the Regulation SHO Threshold List. Despite all the hoodwinking and crime they use to avoid these things, it would be surprising to me if the stock stays off the list indefinitely. Certainly the volume and pattern of trading over these last two weeks, and especially these last two days, would indicate there is a high probability of that happening.
But we know from 2020-21 that even after being added to the list, it still takes some time for that inclusion to have an impact on the share price. That is, until sufficient pressure through market and legal mechanics has built up, such that it "forces" some of these institutions to try and close out these FTDs. (We know that, sadly, nothing really can "force" them...but at least compelling some of them to do so, let us say...)
However this price run that started originally on Tuesday 23rd April has been occurring with the absence of GME from the Regulation SHO Threshold List. So quite possibly the very thing that triggered the massive price run-up in January 2021, has not even happened yet this time around. Hence if we are already on a 500% price run before possibly being added to the list...and that then this triggers additional intense pressure on the Hedge Funds and Market Makers...just imagine what could happens next???
TLDR: GME's recent price surge is unlike the January 2021 "Sneeze" in one key aspect: the Regulation SHO Threshold List. Back then, GME was on the list for weeks before probably causing the eventual price explosion. This time around, GME has not been placed on the list (yet), despite similarly very high trading volumes and likely additional FTDs. So could we then see an even bigger surge if GME gets added to the list? Only time will tell, but all this may just be an aperitif before we even get to the appetiser!

Lately, many guys have been asking about matchmakers, so I am going to write a series of articles focusing on matchmakers - what they do and what to look for.
A Personal Process
The matchmaking process is an incredibly personal. A person who knows you introduces you to another person they know.
That part of it is simple and easy to understand. It was one of the primary ways people met. Often the matchmaker was an aunt or the wife of a minister or rabbi or maybe the school marm or post mistress in the American West. Usually, it was a woman who knew a lot of people in the community.
Of course, matchmakers still play an important role in most of the world, although it is not nearly as common in the US or Europe as it was even fifty years ago. This largely is a result of a general rise in the age of marriage and an explosion in the movement of people, because you need to really know two people before you match them. Sadly, today in the West nobody knows anyone, so matchmaking is not as common.
Professional Matchmakers
In fact, professional matchmakers were largely restricted to immigrant communities until about twenty years ago. In big American cities there were still a few women making a living as Italian, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, Polish, or Jewish matchmakers, but often these were very small businesses.
Something changed and I don't really know what but the industry grew out of those issues. It seems to have revived first in New York City with millionaire matchmakers charging exorbitant rates to match very wealthy men with beautiful younger women.
The problem was that these matchmakers usually did not know the men or the women, so they created a process based on traditional methods mixed with modern social science research. The process its self is important.
The Process
The matchmaking process is still very personal, but often feels more like a job interview. You work directly with a matchmaker for weeks. They ask an array of very personal questions in an attempt to determine exactly what they right type of woman for you is.
It is very detailed. Here is the form that AFA requires its matchmaking clients to fill out. Other services go into even more detail and some require sessions with a psychologist. For a lot of guys this is a turn-off because it feels too invasive.
Then the matchmaker selects the women for you to meet based on this research. Some of the matchmakers will not even tell you anything about the woman you are paying hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars to meet. Others allow a lot more input including looking at photos.
I understand the concerns about photos. Men are incredibly visual. They often look at a photo and "Fall in Love!" This gums up the meeting process, but if you get a guy in front of a woman - maybe a woman who is not his idea of drop dead gorgeous there might be enough real chemistry to spark a relationship.
Next the matchmaker selects the first date. Usually, the international matchmakers provide the drive, translator, and have already chosen the restaurant. They try very hard to make these first dates perfect.
Then the next day the client is de-briefed by the matchmaker. What happens next depends on this debriefing. Sometimes there is a second date with the woman and other times moving on to a different woman. Sometimes they have the unpleasant task of telling the man - who is the paying customer - that the woman is not interested in him. Then they will discuss what the man can do to improve his form and begin looking for the next match.
This process might continue for a set number of dates or time. It all depends. Generally, matchmakers have a pretty high success rate, especially for financially successful men with a really poor dating track record.
And one of the best thing about all matchmakers is that they are really trying very, very hard. They want to see you succeed. Even the worst want you to succeed as another notch on their broom, but the best will coach you, encourage you, educate with you, cry with you, and celebrate with you.
Factors To Consider When Selecting a Matchmaker
  1. General Personality: You are going to spend a ton of time with the matchmaker and their staff. Do you like how they carry themselves and what you can tell of their ethics? What is their background and education? If you do not match well with them the process will be difficult.
  2. Aggressiveness: Some matchmakers are VERY pushy. That is a regular issue for men. Be sure you like and respect your matchmaker before you spend any money, and that you are willing to listen to their advice. Otherwise you are simply wasting your time and money.
  3. Transparency: How much do they charge and when do they tell you the price? Some matchmakers are notorious for not telling men their price until they know a ton about them and can therefore squeeze them for the maximum amount. This is one of the worse industry practices.
  4. Price: The price of high end matchmaking can be more than $500k. That is at the very top of the US and European market. In international matchmaking there is at least one company that advertises a $100k package, although I bet they rarely sell them. In international matchmaking I would say the price usually runs from $5k for a simple package of a few dates in one city to about $20k for scores of dates in a variety of countries over a period of months.   5. Size Database: How many women do they actually have in their database? This is another issue full of lack of transparency. Often these agencies have very limited catalogs but can reach out to other matchmakers for a trade. This creates a slow complicated process. The more women they have in their database the simpler the process is and the higher chance of success.
  6. Location: Where are the women located? This is usually self-evident but since the war in Ukraine it is more important than ever.
  7. The Matchmaking Process: Ask them to explain EXACTLY what their process is? Who is involved and how are the women vetted? Ask if you will get to see the women's profiles and photos. I would be careful about ruling out a well regarded service over this issue, but you should know before you start.
  8. Reviews: Read the reviews and try to talk to people who actually used them.
  9. Beauty: No, not the matchmakers beauty - your potential matches beauty. If you are at least partially driven by beauty mention it and listen to the reaction. Every matchmaker wishes men were not so visual, but you can judge a lot by what they say about this question both good and bad.
  10. Settling: A matchmaker should not start out expecting you to settle. You might need to work on yourself and maybe be more open to possibilities, but not to settling. You want a matchmaker who is as devoted to finding you the perfect match as your mom.

So what happens if a stock makes it onto the Regulation SHO Threshold List?
"If a participant has a failure to deliver that the participant can demonstrate on its books and records resulted from a long sale, or that is attributable to bona fide market making activities, the participant must *close out** the failure to deliver by no later than the beginning of regular trading hours on the third consecutive settlement day following the settlement date."*
What if they are unable to do so, and the FTDs continue for some time without resolution?

I still don't think anyone can precisely say what really happened behind the scenes in late 2020 and early 2021. But we do know certain facts:
▪︎ GME was added to the Regulation SHO Threshold List on 8th December 2020
▪︎ It continued to be on that list throughout the rest of December and early January 2021
▪︎ The share price remained relatively stable for more than 20 trading days during this period
▪︎ Only then on 13th January 2021 did the share price blow up to start the "Sneeze"
▪︎ Meaning that although the stock being placed on the list was undoubtedly causing some kind of intense pressure on failing-to-deliver institutions...it did not impact the share price for many weeks
So what is this key difference between those mechanics 3.5 years ago, compared to what may be happening with GME now? In my opinion, it is the continued absence (at least up until yesterday) from the Regulation SHO Threshold List:

Since Monday 13th May, hundreds of millions (now billions?) of shares have been traded of this stock. But even before that, the price did nearly double from Tuesday 23rd April through to last Friday 10th May. This kind of volatility indicates that there has been a battle raging, most likely with nefarious parties continuing to use illicit methods to try and keep the price from exploding more than it already has. With almost all the methods they can employ, we know there is one result is: more FTDs.
My guess is that at some point - perhaps even this evening - GME gets added to the Regulation SHO Threshold List. Despite all the hoodwinking and crime they use to avoid these things, it would be surprising to me if the stock stays off the list indefinitely. Certainly the volume and pattern of trading over these last two weeks, and especially these last two days, would indicate there is a high probability of that happening.
But we know from 2020-21 that even after being added to the list, it still takes some time for that inclusion to have an impact on the share price. That is, until sufficient pressure through market and legal mechanics has built up, such that it "forces" some of these institutions to try and close out these FTDs. (We know that, sadly, nothing really can "force" them...but at least compelling some of them to do so, let us say...)
However this price run that started originally on Tuesday 23rd April has been occurring with the absence of GME from the Regulation SHO Threshold List. So quite possibly the very thing that triggered the massive price run-up in January 2021, has not even happened yet this time around. Hence if we are already on a 500% price run before possibly being added to the list...and that then this triggers additional intense pressure on the Hedge Funds and Market Makers...just imagine what could happens next???
TLDR: GME's recent price surge is unlike the January 2021 "Sneeze" in one key aspect: the Regulation SHO Threshold List. Back then, GME was on the list for weeks before probably causing the eventual price explosion. This time around, GME has not been placed on the list (yet), despite similarly very high trading volumes and likely additional FTDs. So could we then see an even bigger surge if GME gets added to the list? Only time will tell, but all this may just be an aperitif before we even get to the appetiser!

IF YOU READ THIS POST, YOU ARE A HERO! First time making a post on here so hopefully someone from the Apex/PC Community sees and reads this long message. Few days ago, I had a power outage and did not have a surge protector (just built my PC a month ago it's my first time so I'm very novice). I believe since the power outage I have had the following issues. According to run command diagnostics and motherboard BIOS, RAM, VRAM, GPU are registered as normal.
  1. Whenever I go into the firing range my fps will be around 200, leaving a tearing appearance. After 10 seconds or so it adjusts, and flicks to and remains at 240fps, feeling buttery smooth.
  2. When in the dropship and when flying down from the dropship I am getting roughly 160-180fps, and when I land or get close to landing it hits 240fps constant.
I am able to play the game but when I see issues I want to fix them. Unfortunately, in my experience PC's are fragile and will do anything not to work 100% properly, spewing issues at me left and right. My PC specs are high end so I 100% should not be experiencing this. On top of these issues not existing more than a week ago. *Specs will be listed at the bottom of page*

I've made sure I now have up to date motherboard BIOS and NVidia Drivers. A solution I wanted to test out was a software issue perhaps. When I first built my PC a month ago, I installed some software that somehow made Apex (and Apex only) essentially unplayable. I found the software issue out by creating a new and fresh/software free Microsoft windows user and trying to play Apex on that and it was perfect. Fast forward to today's issues, I wanted to see if it could be another weird software issue, so I went to try and do the previous method stated but for some reason software transfers over to the new profile, making me not have to download steam or download apex. On top of that whenever I try and load Apex up, the app crashes/closes before the continue button (before entering lobby), preventing from even trying to test anything out. I wanted to make a clean slate windows user profile to see if it's a software issue, but I have been unsuccessful in creating one that let me test it.
Was hoping to find out from the software issue test but, if it is not a software issue and perhaps a hardware component was minorly messed up from power outage, how would I know for certain?? Or would it be to guess and check, swapping out components until finding out (I have no way of doing this really).I had to factory reset my PC the last issues I had. I really hope I don't have to do that since I am very novice and inexperienced and have been enjoying my PC so far.

I am able to play the game but when I see issues I want to fix them. Unfortunately, in my experience PC's are fragile and will do anything not to work 100% properly, spewing issues at me left and right. My PC specs are high end so I 100% should not be experiencing this. On top of these issues not existing more than a week ago. *Specs will be listed at the bottom of page*

When I first built my PC a month ago, I installed some software that somehow made Apex (and Apex only) essentially unplayable. I found the software issue out by creating a new and fresh/software free Microsoft windows user and trying to play Apex on that and it was perfect. Fast forward to today's issues, I wanted to see if it could be another weird software issue, so I went to try and do the previous method stated but for some reason software transfers over to the new profile, making me not have to download steam or download apex. On top of that whenever I try and load Apex up, the app crashes/closes before the continue button (before entering lobby), preventing from even trying to test anything out. I wanted to make a clean slate windows user profile to see if it's a software issue, but I have been unsuccessful in creating one that let me test it.
Was hoping to find out from the software issue test but, if it is not a software issue and perhaps a hardware component was minorly messed up from power outage, how would I know for certain?? Or would it be to guess and check, swapping out components until finding out (I have no way of doing this really).I had to factory reset my PC the last issues I had. I really hope I don't have to do that since I am very novice and inexperienced and have been enjoying my PC so far.

I am a black woman, late 30s, no kids, who moved to Newark several months ago. Prior to moving, I felt like I would have a great social life here. After all, this being the largest city in NJ and majority black population, I expected it to be easy peasey. It is also close to the city which gves it more points.

Few days ago, I had a power outage and did not have a surge protector (just built my PC a month ago it's my first time so I'm very novice). The most commonly stated answers to this dilemma? Well, they are both brain-dead:
“You’re right, please make them undefeatable gods, like Metro Man”🤓☝️
“Nooo, the plot comes first. If Superman needs to lose to Harley Quinn, so be it”🤡
One makes the plot boring, the other spits on the established power levels and lore.
Any plot in which Superman god-stomps his enemies in 0.1 nanoseconds and is home for a double date with Lois, and Batman and Selina is ridiculous and a trash plot, as is a plot in which Jim Gordon tags Wally West at full speed.
imo both of these takes are simplified, brain-dead takes.

State and limit their strengths! How/Why is this not the default method?

This is NOT me saying we should limit Flash to 300 mph or make Batman an irl peak human, that would be boring/not work. What I am saying is that these are examples of how DC/Marvel/Manga/Hollywood editorial high command could structure heroes' powers and abilities of any kind. Just limit their powers somewhere.
The above clear examples keep the stakes high, because BS like 1 million mass punches, MFTL attack speeds and reality warping power is no longer an option. They have to work around these limits and find creative ways to use powers, instead of hitting their villains with the overused “It’s time to use my infinitely useful and powerful attack!!!”.
All heroes now need a strategy and good tactics.
They cannot magically beam to lightspeed or Whip out the Ultimate God blaster 9000.
They gotta work with Mach 2 and the normal blaster.

My boyfriend's best friend (let's call him Joe) constantly hates on me and tells my boyfriend I'm manipulative, and controlling and is constantly telling my boyfriend to break up with me. For example, my boyfriend and I share locations and Joe told him that I'm using it as a method to control him but I rarely check his location, and have never used his location to try and be controlling in any way, or used it against him in any way. My boyfriend constantly asks Joe to stop talking about our relationship, and stop talking bad about me but Joe will either say he will stop, and then start again a week or so later, or he will tell my boyfriend he's being unreasonable for asking him to stop. I've met Joe and spent time with him and my boyfriend on 2 occasions, and have tried to make amends but him doing this makes me uncomfortable and so I've stopped making an effort. If he's at the house when I come back from work I'll say hello and then go upstairs because I don't want to be around him.
In the past I myself have dropped friends because they disrespected my boyfriend, and wouldn't stop or hear me out and were overall just being rude and I don't associate with people like that. My entire family and friend circle respects my boyfriend, and my relationship and loves to spend time with us both. One of my close friends said that since Joe keeps doing things that negatively impact our relationship, I should tell my boyfriend to choose between us but I would never want my boyfriend to resent me because he had to give up a childhood friend. I just don't know how to approach this situation and feel conflicted. For clarity, my boyfriend does actively stand up for me and ask his friend to stop but then they will still hang out and it won't affect their friendship, but I feel anxious because I know friends words have the ability to sway peoples opinions. 2024.05.14 23:04 DarkRayne17 DayZ freezing on server load with new At&t internet Air on XBOX Series X

I have seen this issue multiple times on DayZ forums and reddit with no resolution. When trying to join a server in Dayz the countdown will start and the loading bar will appear. When the countdown is done and the loading bar is around 25% complete the game will freeze on the blurred out character screen. There are a few RARE circumstances where the character will actually load into the server, but we load in completely desynced, even getting the character to load in requires constant restarting of the game.
We recently upgraded to At&t Internet Air using an All-fi Hub. We get anywhere from 120-300 mbps download and around 40mbps upload average PING is between 20-40. Our old internet was At&t Internet 10 which was awful. We got 11mbps for a few seconds and then kbps and it switched back and forth. Ping was awful on old internet. The old internet ran off a phone cable whereas this new internet is true wifi and connects you to a cell tower for 5G internet. Despite this, we were able to play Dayz on old internet with occasional lag and issues during congested hours, but playable.
My wife loves this game, it's the only thing she plays, she is involved with the community servers she plays in and now its been ripped away from her. I have done hours of EXTENSIVE troubleshooting trying to get this game to work with no success. I will list the methods I have gone through below.
NAT is Open
Ports are forwarded
Internet is strong and Ping is good.

The following methods of troubleshooting have been completed with no success:
Clearing Xbox cache, game save data, account save data, and all cloud-saved data.
deleting and reinstalling DayZ
Hard and soft reset of Xbox
clearing xbox MAC address and ensuring we have static IP address for Xbox
Port forwarding for xbox and common DayZ ports. I have used every available website and forum entry I could find to locate ports for this.
Playing on a different console
We still had some time left on our old internet so I hooked up the old router, made sure I could connect using several different devices and tried playing again on it, now it doesn't even work, so we can't even go back to our old internet.
MTU is currently 1430 (the old router was 1500, which was the only difference between settings other than connection type.) I CAN NOT change this. The router settings will not let me.
Messed around with IP address, MAC address, Gateway address.
I have (briefly mind you) messed around with firewall settings just to make sure they weren't blocking anything.
Tried IPV6 on and off.
Messed with Dayz Menu settings. All of them, FOV, Aim assist, any option that could be enabled, disabled, or changed, i have tried it.
Soft and hard reset the router, restored to factory conditions.
Tried MAC filtering between 2.4 and 5ghz.
Tried IP passthrough and allocation and packet filtering changes
Made sure everything was up to date: Xbox, Wifi router, DayZ
Tried playing with and without Livonia installed.
I have tried a wired and wireless connection with Xbox. keep in mind though, this router has no cable. It connects wirelessly to a cell tower. I have no broadband, fiber, or phone cable that runs to the router.
I HAVE CONTACTED MY ISP and they said they can't see anything wrong on their end. They said it must have something to do with the game's servers. Especially because this is the only game that does this. Every other online game works and runs fine with no issues.
Honestly, there are probably a few other things I have tried that I can't think of.

Cloud Gaming worked, but it's awful and practically unplayable
Now here's the weird thing that I saw several people posted. They were able to use their phone's mobile hotspot and join the server. This also worked for me. I used hotspot and was able to load right in but hotspot data gets eaten up like crazy so it isn't sustainable unless you only wanna play for an hour or 2 per month.
I think that's crazy because my phone is At&t 5G which uses a cell tower and it works. But my internet which is At&t 5G and uses a cell tower...doesn't work.

I have seen so many posts similar to this one and there are no solutions and rarely any DEV feedback. The most common feedback is to contact the ISP because it's something with them, but neither myself nor the ISP can find the issue because this is the ONLY game that has this problem. Unfortunately for me it's the only game my wife plays.
I have poured through forums, reddit, some weird places and tried every potential solution/suggestion that was offered. This is increasingly frustrating because I can usually figure stuff like this out. I try to be very thorough. I truly believe this has something to do with DayZ and how it communicates.
Any insight or suggestions are appreciated. I have also posted this to DayZ forums, Xbox forums, and At&t forums although phone rep could not find anything wrong on their end.
