2024.05.16 19:20 ThisTooShallPass-108 Can I bypass IP blocking for indexes without spending anything?

tl;dr I am hoping to find a way for my prowlarr to get access to these indexes without paying for a vpn.
First things first. Why I do not want to use a VPN like other sane people? Because I don't have to, I live in a 3rd world country where no one gives a shit about catching people that use torrent. I am hosting a arr* stack consisting of these apps on a ubuntu server from a old laptop. Shoutout to YAMS that made setting this up a cake walk.
Right now my server works as all traffic from prowlarr and qbitorrent goes through mullvad but it does not have to because I want to be safe but because I do not have a choice.
I loved using mullvad and honestly I would choose to stick with it in future. But it costs same amount of money that could let me upgrade my network from a 40Mbps to 200Mbps which I really want.
Before I hosted this stack and did all the torrenting manually, I would just enable this add on called VeePN and that unblocked all the indexes I use: 1337x, bitsearch, yts, eztv.
I don't want to bind my torrent client to use a vpn, just the prowlarr so that I can fetch those juicy magnet links.

2024.05.16 19:18 Bluesmoke16 Strange Occurrence in my House. Potential Break In

Hey everyone,
I posted over in home security looking for some advice. It was suggested that I post this here as well.
Yesterday, I went out of my house for about an hour and 15 minutes. When I came back I found something super odd in my living room. These cups that had liquid in them and had been on the coffee table were moved to the floor, standing straight up. My husky was home with our other dog but he was in his crate. Given that nothing else fell off of the table and there wasn’t a drop of liquid spilt. Its got to be impossible that she picked up both of these cups, and placed them like this on the floor.
I had accidentally left my back door unlocked and it would have required someone opening or hopping our privacy fence in the back yard. Nothing else in the house was stolen or messed with. Only these cups. This whole situation is incredibly bizarre.
What do you guys think?
Here’s a link to a picture of how I found the cups. https://imgur.com/a/4Oz8ZoH

2024.05.16 19:14 gayboi911jezuz Potential Signings to help out the club

I recently had an incredible opportunity to tour the Kraft Offices as part of my university's Sports Business Club. Our guide, Marc Rogers, shared fascinating insights into the management of a soccer team, specifically within the context of the MLS and our very own New England Revolution. This experience hit close to home for me, as I had previously written an article for my school's magazine about MLS franchise valuations. It's clear that the MLS has tremendous potential for growth, and it's exciting to see the attention it's garnering.
On the same day as the tour, I was thrilled to witness the Revs secure their first win of the season. Despite the rainy conditions, the game was filled with emotion and showcased missed opportunities from both sides. This experience solidified my support for the team since I arrived in Boston.
However, as I watched this game and subsequent matches, it became apparent to me that the Revs lack a clear tactical identity and team cohesion compared to the teams I've followed in England. As a new fan, I couldn't help but notice a sense of dissatisfaction with the team's performance, both in the stadium and across social media.
Since attending that game, I've put together a report that highlights potential players I believe the Revs should consider signing or at least evaluating. My knowledge stems from my deep passion for the sport, countless hours playing Football Manager, reading articles from The Athletic, analyzing tactical breakdowns on YouTube, and engaging in lively discussions with my father during our soccer viewings. I firmly believe that bringing in new talent could be key to the Revs' improvement.
I have tried reaching out to Remi Roy and Sergio Neveleff but I haven't received any replies. That is the reason I'm posting it here.
P.S If anyone here is working in any sort of soccer scouting department I would be open to work. I have extremely limited experience but is super eager to learn.

2024.05.16 19:10 Chonkin_GuineaPig Is it legal to open up a RedBubble store while on disability? Desperate for answers.

I thought about investing my time into emulating games on a Steamdeck as I have absolutely nothing to do with myself in a small rural town with little to no internet. All there is to do around is shop at DG/Walmart and eat out at fast food joints. At least with the Steamdeck, I could run a bunch of old ROMs that don't require internet.
I've gotten bored with my 2022 Samsung tablet as all the apps tend to be non-functional due to ads and subscription paywall unless I dig my way through bootleg sites to download a specific APK. Half my favorite games are incompatible with newer technology. I deliberately asked for an older model from 2019 since they're better made, but my parents said no.
I've tried to run a PC emulator on my tablet, but just about everything on the app store is complete garbage these days. The Switch library mostly consists of overpriced garbage and my console dies within 45 minutes to an hour on full charge even if I manually shut it down every time.
I understand the need for being grateful, but all these consoles/tablets/etc. add up and everyone else being hoarders is just too much for me. I get that the Steamdeck is not a fix-all, but it would keep down the overall clutter for the most part and emulating old ROMs would finally give my brain something to look forward to.
I've tried explaining to my family what the Steamdeck was and how I was gonna use it, and their response is that I can't just expect handouts all the time and I need to get out there and work. I have no issue applying for Walmart to pay for it at all if it weren't for my ongoing health issues.
I cannot apply for a position at any workplace because of my health concerns that involves the consistent dropping of items or bumping into and knocking over objects. I've also been experiencing things like undiagnosed heart/vascular that would make it difficult to work a part time job without falling and getting hurt. My guardians don't want me going to the doctor and there's nothing I can do about it.
As for the Steamdeck, I was mostly gonna leave it docked to the TV or prop it up against the table with a stand and use a Bluetooth controller with it while at group therapy. I'm mostly into getting one so I can emulate older games with updates for newer software as well as access to the regular Steam library.
I've tried setting boundaries during Christmas/birthdays nearly a dozen times over and absolutely nobody is willing to work with me at all. The only way I can buy anything for myself (regardless of what it is) would be to sell my own artwork online.
I was gonna close down the shop immediately after paying for the Steamdeck and open it back up around Christmas/birthdays so I can buy myself the stuff I've already had in mind for ages since everyone thinks it's selfish to ask for cash or gift cards.
I would have to use direct printing services like RedBubble and Society6 because conditions at the facility are less than ideal and I don't want to get dirt in any of the packages or have someone else steal them. Plus there's no way to ship anything out on my own since they only have a PO box.
People online say that making any kind of side money at ALL is illegal even if I were to do regular commissions or sell pieces at an art gallery, but I can't really tell at this point. I'm just tired of relying on people who hand me all this cheap junk from DG that I don't need and can't get rid of right after I beg and plead for them to stop.
The amount of money that the place I'm staying owes us would be enough to cover a basic one, but they're probably not going to give us our allowance back until I'm long gone. Some residents have already started getting their money and it looks like backpay is practically out of the question.
I'm sad about not being able to get one because I really wanted something to do over the summer since I can't afford to go to leave the building. I guess I could save $60 a month and end up getting one in about a year, but the only issue with that is not knowing if I'm even gonna get my monthly allowance back at all.
There's nothing that really prevents residents from going into each other's rooms and stealing each other's monthly allowance either since it's all in dollar bills, so having it sent directly to a debit card would make it more secure. I can't trust my parents to take all those dollar bills to the bank either because they'll just spend it on themselves.
I've been wanting to move to a safer area for a long time, but I can't live on my own with the way I am and social workers have been trying to put me on a waitlist for a medical waiver that could take up to a decade or more (that's if I even qualify at all).
Any suggestions?

2024.05.16 19:08 JackkSkyline 21 [M4F] #Scotland #UK #Online #Perth #Western Australia - looking for a gaming duo :)

(I know it's not the main focus in the title but I'd also be super keen to talk to people in the UK, either London or somewhere in England or Scotland around like Edinburgh as there's a near 100% chance I'm moving there this year)
Hi everyone!
My name is Jack, I'm 21 and I'm a recent cyber security and forensics and internetworking and network security graduate, but I hope to go on for a few more years and do post grad studies! (this year my goal is to move to Edinburgh for my masters!)
Hobbies!: For the past few years I've been heavily into formula 1, never missing a race (even the 3 am ones and even worse, the 7 am ones!)
I also enjoy doing photography, I mainly do cars but I have recently started thinking about more landscape/urban photography.
Now for games! My main ones are Destiny 2, and rainbow six siege, (for those wondering my highest rank is diamond 3 (when rank actually meant something lol)), but I haven't been playing them much these days. I play heaps more than that but I can't think of them off the top of my head lol. To try and list some id say project zomboid is one I'm very into as of right now, that and hell divers 2. I really enjoyed elden ring so I want to try more souls like games. Red dead redemption 2 is amazing and my favourite game of all time is probably watch dogs 2.
I love JDM cars and unfortunately haven't been to a car meet in over a year now. My introduction to photography was through cars so if you'd like to see some of my photos do let me know! Most of my part time work went towards getting my dream car so I definitely plan on going to more meets!
As for what I look like I'm 5"11' brown hair that touches my shoulders and never acts normally. I am 75 ish kg and I have brown eyes. That's a basic description of me but if you want a picture that's not an issue.
I'm not really too good at writing these advertisements or making titles or finishing them off so I'll just say if I sound appealing to you or you wanna know more, feel free to shoot me a message! For those in WA I'm down in the Mandurah area but travelling up to Perth isn't an issue for me! And hopefully I see all you Scots later this year!
Thanks for reading! Stay safe people!!

I just got a job at McDonald’s, and I got this email from a company called ADP to confirm identity for pay roll.
I’m just wondering if this is safe to do, because what’s funny is I was learning cyber security this morning, so I’m all paranoid. I noticed on their website that they “don’t ask for social security” or any sensitive info like that. However it asks for 4 digits. Do you think it’s safe to do?

2024.05.16 19:04 Artistic-Unicorn AITA for not giving more money to my cousin's wedding as a MoH

I can feel a long post coming in the air tonight... 🎶
It was a few months ago when my fiance proposed!! We went on a trip, he proposed when we were alone in a beautiful place and I was extremely happy on this day, it was one of the best days of my life. But... the next day was a disaster! I called my cousin, lets call her Gina, and told her that I was getting married, I called because she was one of my best friends and we have been close all my life. Gina lives in a different city from me, but we managed to get together often, she stayed with me for a year after college and generally I thought we had a bf-cousin relationship.
I was always in a better position than her financially but I've always given her everything I could, I'd buy her clothes, I've been paying her drinks and meals whenever we got out and always trying to make her feel welcomed and safe.
l called to tell her the news but I specifically asked her not to tell my parents until I was home from the trip. I wanted to have the pleasure to tell that I am getting married to my parents myself. I am a lonely child and my parents were waiting this moment for a long time since I am kind of "old" in their minds. As you have guessed Gina CALLED my parents before I could return from the trip and tell them...
What a b*tch!!!
We had no idea, we were so happy, when we returned from the trip we first went to my in laws who are really lovely people!! His mother baked and neighbors were coming and my SIL came all wishing us the best and everybody where happy about us.
After that we went to my parents to announce the news and I was very excited.
Their reaction was I quote "ok nice, now please send an email for me (something related to their work)"
I was devastated, I had a panic attack and left crying at that moment. Actually I opened the door and stormed out while my fiance was trying to catch our cat that went running behind me. We saved the cat!!🐈
My parents didn't speak to me for 3 days and they were very mad. Remember, I didn't know that Gina blabbed about me and I thought that they were just indifferent or didn't liked my fiance.
After 3 days my mum called and informed me that Gina told them before I could return from the trip and they were angry because my first thought was to tell my friends that I am going to get married and not to my parents!! Personally idk why they were so shocked, since we aren't so close and I think my best friends ( including Gina) as more of my family (and the cat).
Gina didn't have the right to tell, I texted her but she avoided me and then I was so mad I didn't speak to her for three weeks.
I went to her city to straight things out and when I got there, she hides behind her fiance. He was mad with me for not contacting them for 3 weeks ( i think he just found something to grab on ) and I asked my cousin directly why you spoke to my parents when I told you not to and she didn't speak back to me. Her "lawyer" did the indictment and I said to him to stay out of this and that Gina can speak her mind without his "help and guidance". Finally she started talking and without the presence of our dear "lawyer", among other things she said that her fiance announced that they were getting married to facebook first!! And that was the way her parents found out .....you see where this is going right?? She was frustrated that she didn't have the time to announce this to her parents properly and i don't know why in this f** world but maybe she thought that I had to pass through the same sh*t.
I left silently because really I didn't want to lose a cousin over this, a mess that I didn't initiated.
Now regarding her wedding, Gina is not well financially so she struggles with the wedding costs and also she asked me to be her MoH, really I think it's because she doesn't have other friends, she hangouts only with the friends of her fiance. I accepted of course before all this happened and I planned and saved to give Gina 5.000$ for her wedding. After this story, I only gave her 500$ which she thanked me a week later with just a typical "Thanks".
Everyone is expecting, because i am more financially stable than my cousins ( Gina and her brothers), to support my cousin at her wedding, but I am f** tired. I am tired of giving everything I can, since I was little, so they don't feel less or unequal, I was trying always to be very careful with that balance. All I ever had in mind was their best interest and considered them the brothers and sisters I never had.
I recently gave my cousin ( her brother ) a car without asking for money and even paid for his insurance and other costs and he didn't even had time for coffee. I asked him 3 times to go for coffee or dinner, that I would pay, just to celebrate his new car and he never came.
When I think of my proposal I get all teary because that day I won a husband but lost a friend and cousin.
I've always dreamed that Gina would have the best wedding but now my heart can't reach the generosity I thought I had, plus when i went to her city she didn't come to greet me.
This is how you slowly become the bad relative, the Scrooge McDuck relative who doesnt ever give to other relatives.
Also my fiance is furious with all of them. And the cat, the cat is mad with all of us.
I dont want to be the MoH but she doesn't have any other friends (and I don't like the groom) If I resing all the other relatives will wonder why I am not her MoH since we had been very close.
Thoughts???
Thank you and sorry for the long post!!!
Ps: I am used to that kind of behavior from my parents so it doesn't matter anymore!!

2024.05.16 19:03 trixtp If there is an issue with my work laptop and my company asks if I could use my personal laptop is it legal to refuse the request?

I have a friend who works from home, and occasionally when her work laptop has experienced issues the company has asked as a one off if she could use her personal one.
I’ve always told her not to do it, in my eyes it’s the company’s problem if their equipment doesn’t work, and their responsibility to deal with. Aside from wanting to keep your private life separate from your work using your personal laptop could expose company data to security risks.
For examples firewalls can be disabled, and admin privileges are usually enabled on a private laptop and security configurations are less stringent compared to a company laptop. This would mean that using your private computer would mean putting company data more at risk for malware, if you work without a Citrix connection or a vpn, like in the case of my friend, where all work s done via web apps. .
As an employee I wouldn’t want this responsibility in my hands so I’d refuse to work until the issue got resolved if I were in her position.
Am I wrong to think like this?

2024.05.16 19:03 RoccotheTaco500 Question, and advise please.

Before anybody tells me “well you should’ve read over the paperwork Ect” I did. It’s my first new car. First car I’ve ever financed.. I took my time read over everything as far as I remember. I made a mistake somewhere. I misunderstood something. I just am asking for advise and some clarity.
I recently bought a 2024 Toyota Corolla LE out the door for $24,500. I put down $12,000 that I got from insurance from a recent accident.
My yellow paperwork I went home with states I signed for 12,500 with my loan company.
The loan manager and my salesman told me that everything was included in the out the door cost of the vehicle, extended warranty and a 2 year complimentary service package that included oil changes and tire rotations at any Toyota. Great! That saves me money over the next two years while I move back to Clemson to finish college.
My finance amount was 12,500 but according to the paperwork on my thumb drive, the warranty and oil change package, which they told me were included in the outdoor cost of 24,500 made my true out the door 27,900. The extended warranty I was told was included as well. When I look over the paperwork it’s an extra $3100.
I am aware that I did sign the paperwork that agreed to the extended warranty at the price on the paperwork now and I MESSED UP. But, They did tell me this was all included in the out the door price. Is there anything I can do to have this rectified?
I’m debating not doing anything because when I spoke with my loan company they told me it wouldn’t change my monthly payments and the dealership said the same thing. It would save me interest and $3000+ but part of me doesn’t want to get rid of an extended warranty.
This is my first new car, every car I’ve had before was used and ended up needing thousands of dollars in work after I recently purchased them so I didn’t want to go that route and I like the idea and security of the extended loan.

2024.05.16 19:02 Mynui I got over arachnophobia with Grounded

Hi everyone,
I just thought I would do a little post about the game and arachnophobia, because as stupid as it sound, Grounded helped me a lot getting over my irrational fear of spiders.
I never hated spiders but they always scared the shit out of me since my childhood. Now, I have spent more than 200 hours on Grounded and I love the game. I haven't play in a while but I'd like to.
At first, I was avoiding like HELL all the part spiders were in. I was especially afraid of the wolfies... their footsteps were already a big nope for me!
I tried the arachnophobia mode at some point. It helped a little but knowing it was still a spider was still making my adrenaline spikes. I turned it off because it felt also weid to just see a bubble.
Anyway, with time and friends, I got used to have a spider as a neighbour, learning her pattern and schedule and eventually just accepting she was there. At some point I felt less scared because I started to learn about them.
Well, 8 paws moving is still very weird to watch but somehow, being safe home and getting used to them made me feel a little bit braver each day that passed.
I followed my friends and were always leaving them the fight with the spiders, until I once joined, and twice and so on. I was very nervous near the hedge in the game.
Anyway, now, I am almost at peace with them. I still wouldn't take one with my bare hand in real life but I see a huge difference. If I find a spider, I am now able to trap it and throw it out. Never in my life was I able to approach it without panicking. Until now.
Why did I think about posting this only now ? Simple, today I woke up with a spider that decided she needed to take a shortcut under my blanket and on my arm (it was specifically a Tegenaria domestica). I got scared and she had a flying lesson within seconds, but then I took her in a bowl and she is now free in the garden.
Thanks Grounded !

2024.05.16 19:01 drowsy-god Giving him his keys back.

I really need help. My ex and I met in 2021. From day 1, we were deeply connected. I really felt loved by him and loved him back. We had a lot of issues in the past, but I believed we made it this time. We were talking about marriage and kids just a month ago.
Due to a lot of stressors in our lives like new jobs, we started to argue often. And after we argued one time, he abruptly left me over text. Wouldn’t call me, wouldn’t meet up. I feel ashamed to say I begged him to meet and talk because I was shocked. We saw each other 3 weeks ago and we keep arguing. We are broken up and he doesn’t want to talk about it. So I stop talking, then he says he misses me, he asks me if I’m talking to anyone new. All of this is really confusing to me because I haven’t even processed what happened yet.
Tomorrow, he wants to meet at his place so I can give him his keys back. I said we could meet if he is willing to talk about our relationship, but he doesn’t want to talk. He said he won’t change his mind and he is tired of talking about it. But said he wants to see me because he misses me. I said I miss him too, but I don’t want to see him yet if he doesn’t want to talk because I believe it will cause me a lot of pain. So I offered to pack his keys and other things nicely and put them in the entrance of my apartment complex so that he can pick them up. It’s really safe and there’s security so he’s not concerned about them being stolen.
But he doesn’t want my solution and acts as if I’m refusing to give him back his keys. What should I do? Did I come up with a stupid idea?

2024.05.16 19:00 Expensive-Serve5561 lowest raise ever, ideas for J2

Lately I'm really frustrated at J1 for a while. I've been sticking it out because of the good schedule and benefits. However, ee've been chronically understaffed and now even moreso. I got a promotion last year and a raise this year but we all got a bonus that was practically nothing and even less after taxes. its the lowest bonus I've ever gotten (20% what i got last year). I want a J2 so I can pay off some medical debt faster and fil up my savings, but i've been frustrated with the job search of trying to replace J1 with a job in cybersecurity. Just looking for ideas of where I should pivot.
for context, I'm a senior help desk admin i work 4/5 days from home one in office. the in office day is when I have meetings. I do have phone calls but not a high volume most of the time I'm working tickets throughout the day. I'm working on a security cert at the moment (security plus). Should I look for J2/J3 to be sys admin or more of a cloud position? I really like this subreddit and how helpful your sugesstions are. Thanks.

The thief-in-law Viktor Korostylev, nicknamed Korostyl, stood at the origins of organized crime in the Kemerovo -Kuzbass region. Originally from the small town of Prokopyevsk, Korostyl eventually became one of the most influential figures in the region's criminal world. Korostylev narrowly avoided going to a juvenile colony in 1971 when he was just 15 years old. He got caught for petty hooliganism, so he received a two-year suspended sentence. However, a year later, Korostyl began committing serious crimes. Soon he was arrested again, this time for robbery, and was sentenced to nine years in prison, including his previous suspended sentence for hooliganism. It was in prison that Viktor Korostylev became acquainted with the criminal underworld and thieves-in-law. With a considerable sentence ahead of him, Korostyl decided to join the "denying" camp, which refused to cooperate with the administration and held a favorable position under the thieves' control.
During the initial years in prison, Korostyl was not much different from other inmates. He was, so to speak, part of the general prison population that adhered to criminal traditions. His young age and the need for adaptation to prison life required time. After serving about five years, Viktor had fully embraced his allegiance to the thieves-in-law, and by the age of 25, he was an established criminal authority.
Upon his release, Korostyl did not linger in freedom. The expression "prison is a home for a thief" was precisely about him. However, each of the charges against Korostylev was far from theft-related. In 1981, he committed murder and was sentenced to serve his term in a maximum-security prison. As a repeat offender, he received 9 years out of a possible 10 for this charge, as the murder was committed without aggravating circumstances.
While in prison, Korostyl positioned himself as an experienced figure in criminal affairs. In the Tobolsk prison, he mediated a conflict between two groups of inmates. Later, Korostylev was transferred to Zlatoust zone, where he was eventually crowned at the age of 31 by prominent thieves in Law such as Valery Mitin (Motyl), Suren Kukunyan (Gray Bakinsky), and Farit Khabibullin (Farit Rezany).
During his time in prison, Korostyl spent periods in many facilities, including a stint in a Georgian prison. It was in the Georgian prison that he formed close ties with many thieves, and subsequently, Viktor Korostylev leaned more towards the Caucasian criminal clan than the Slavic thieves Clan.
Prokopievsk Group
When Korostyl once again returned to freedom, he was no longer just a common thug. After all, a thief-in-law status gives its holder a lot. In a short time, he assembled an organized criminal group from former convicts. Just as racketeering began to flourish, Korostyl managed to almost completely take over Prokopievsk. Later, his influence spread to the entire southern Kuzbass region. In the northern part of the region, the situation was controlled by one of the authoritative thieves, Oleg Chernyshev, nicknamed Cherny. They often met with Korostyl. During one of these meetings, it was agreed that thieves would not encroach on each other's territory. Thus, a strong thieves' alliance emerged in Kuzbass.
Korostyl subjugated practically every street stall in Prokopievsk and neighboring cities. At least he put under his protection only those who did not already have it. In general, he acted wisely, avoiding making enemies. He even attempted to infiltrate the mining industry, sending his messengers to the director of one of the mines. However, they made it clear that it was a strategic object under the control of the KGB. Korostyl understood everything, and his interest in the mining industry disappeared.
Instead, the thief-in-law began to show interest in business. He invested money in various enterprises, subsequently receiving decent dividends from them. This was not forbidden, as Korostyl replenished the thieves' common fund, so if questions arose about this matter, arguments about the necessity of supporting the business prevailed, as the zones and prisons benefited from this money.

This phenomenon also has another name - the Shkabary Barybin Gang. Young and audacious, they immediately made a loud statement about themselves with brutal murders of local entrepreneurs. Then it was the turn of criminal authorities, who were killed by members of the gang on the orders of their leader, Nikolai Labotsky.
It is strange that despite being under the control of thieves-in-law, the region could not resist this gang. The Labotskys were not afraid of consequences. They seized almost the entire commercial sphere of Novokuznetsk and continued their onslaught on other cities in the Kuzbass region.
Typically, Labotsky would send a messenger to criminal authorities, offering them to peacefully surrender their territory to the gang. At first, they were sent away. But then there was always the killing of the authority. Thus, Labotsky and his right-hand man, Shkabara-Barybin, earned such a reputation that many eventually willingly handed over their controlled points to the gang.
In early 1992, representatives of the ruthless gang also arrived in Prokopievsk. They met with Viktor Korostylev and calmly explained that it was time to share the commercial structures. The thief had heard of Labotsky, but apparently did not think he himself could become their victim. After all, Korostylev had significant influence in the region, and it would have been too costly to go to war against him. So he sent Labotsky's bandits a negative response.
But the lawless gang always pushed forward, seeing no authorities around them. In the spring of 1992, a criminal authority, Arslan Sattarov, who was considered Korostylev's "right hand," was killed. The thief did not immediately grasp the essence of what was happening, at least he did not swear to avenge Sattarov's murder on Labotsky. And as it turned out, it was a mistake. It was Labotsky who began to push him out of the territories he occupied. By killing Sattarov, he simply did not leave a "successor" for Korostylev. Viktor Korostylev himself would be killed seven months later, on October 2nd, right at the cemetery, where he arrived as part of a funeral procession, bidding farewell to his relative.
*As fate would have it, Viktor met his death at the cemetery. On October 2nd, Korostyl, a notorious thief in the Kuzbass region, was attending the funeral of his uncle's mother. During the farewell ceremony, two 17-18-year-old boys in "Zhiguli" cars approached the cemetery and opened fire: one fired five shots from a revolver at Viktor Korostylev, while the other punctured the tires of Korostylev's car, parked nearby, using a Makarov pistol.
At 14:35, Korostylev was taken to the 2nd city hospital with severe chest injuries. Several hours later, he passed away.*

2024.05.16 18:58 LolaS2234 When can I stop freaking out over everything?

New single mom here, 26. Her dad doesn’t want to be part of this. I moved in with my mom and she’s been fantastic aic, but this is also tiring for her because I keep freaking out over every little thing.
My baby girl was born Monday this week, came home yesterday morning.
I downloaded a baby app so I can keep track of her feedings, how much she drank and diaper changes.
Every sound she makes, I Google to see if that’s normal. Her hiccuping after a feeding.
What the color of her poop means. The newborn shaking, I was told that’s normal but it scares me.
And the worst one, I jeep checking kijg to see if she’s breathing. I can’t close my eyes because I’m getting up every 2 minutes, I’m not joking, but every 2 minutes I am checking her breathing.
My mom reassures me every time that I’m doing a great job so far. She’s fed, she’s changed and she sleeps without crying her head off. She’s safe, she’s good.
But I just can’t help but google.
I haven’t slept today at all, I can’t stop crying. Even when my mom is helping me take care of her, I keep getting up to see if she’s ok.
I’m also thinking of joining free parenting classes my city offers.

2024.05.16 18:57 drowsy-god How should I (25F) give my ex (28M) give my ex his keys back?

2024.05.16 18:56 KittyKittyPaw Should I keep my options open

While I am quite aware of the current housing market I feel compelled to buy due to my current renting market and the lack of security it is offering me. Due to this, I've reached out to real estate agents and have gotten pre-approved for a loan roughly amounting to $400,000. The estimated monthly payment is probably $2,500 which is more than double what I'm currently paying. Is this something that can change or decrease once I decide on a home? As it stands, I may not be able to afford this amount.
Should I forgo looking for a house or should I continue and see what turns up? I haven't seen anything yet so I'm not sure if multifamilies are within this price range or if I would be able to even get a muliti bedroom and rent one room out to make payments more feasible. I feel as if I was forced to move due with my landlord I may have to find a place with a roommate anyways.

2024.05.16 18:56 RipeAvocadoLapdance I F'ed up at work

Hey, I made a pretty gross mistake at work two days ago, well not exactly at work but on social media where some coworkers saw my comment. It didn't name the business directly but in hindsight I was making a sideways comment on something I didn't agree with that was being offered at my work. My work environment has become more of the crunchy almond mom place, moving away from evidence-based practices. Although I don't think I fit within this environment anymore, I really need a job. This job also has coworkers that have been the most inclusive people I've ever met in my life, as someone with autism. I had a meeting with the owner yesterday and it went okay, it ended with her giving me a hug. But I still feel uncomfortable. I kind of laid some other things out there within the meeting saying I don't feel safe sometimes and she said that she had to take that very seriously and now another co-worker who would be in with me today is out. I don't think she is in trouble, but I think she is upset with me. Anyway, everything feels like a whole mess and I don't know what to do. I did send an email apologizing about my comment but they didn't reply.
Meanwhile my friend and goddaughter's mother sent me a text message saying that there's no Common Ground anymore, implying that she doesn't want to be friends anymore. I leave for a trip tomorrow and I just feel like everything's falling apart and I'm not even going to be at home in my safe space. I feel so anxious

2024.05.16 18:56 Dry-Painting-9730 My friends have abandoned me during one of the hardest and lowest points in my life

I thought I’d share over here, perhaps at least one person will be able to relate? It’s been an incredibly hard few months for me. I am newly diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. And have had major depression disorder and anxiety since a very young age. I just got out of rehab for a weed addiction a few weeks ago (very successfully - I am not on any substances anymore and don’t plan on it again). Since being out, I’ve found it incredibly hard to adjust back into my home environment. Everything was so safe and I was so protected in the clinic. They even decreased my meds because I was doing so well.
Fast forward to coming out and back into my home environment and I’ve never been in a worse place in my life. On top of this, two weeks ago, I found out my friend took his life. When I found this out, I tried to call my one friend, but she ignored my phone call because she was too busy smoking, knowing that I needed the support because I was alone, and one of my conditions were for my friends to please not smoke in front of me. So she didn’t pick up and chose to smoke with my other friend instead of them asking if I maybe wanted to come over for some company to grieve with them. Then, I had asked my very best friend if she would be around for company and support after my friend’s memorial. She said no, it’s too much for her. I will admit that I started lashing out on both of them after those two occasions, which I’m not proud of, but because my friend had just died and no one wanted to be around. At some point I pulled back.
They haven’t spoken to me for two weeks, and don’t plan to. My best friend said “she just wants her old friend back”. Which makes me feel hurt because I’m still here. I am her friend. The same friend I’ve been for years. I’m just not the perfect version of myself that she wants me to be right now. I can’t have people in my life conditionally based on my circumstances. I would do anything for my friends. Especially if they were at their lowest points. I am in such a bad state that my mom is on watch for me in case she has to take me to the hospital to be under observation if I am a danger to myself. And my friends? No where to be seen. Not only have I lost my friend who took his life, but now I’ve lost two of my best friends after the fact as well. And I am alone in my grief. I just feel completely helpless. I’ve had to delete social media because they’re posting petty things to their stories. I’m finding it hard to accept that these friendships may have run their course. Because they’ve been in my life for years. But I just think it’s such a nasty thing to do, especially considering my best friend is a psychology major, who was so supportive of my diagnosis and one of the only people I opened up to about it. And is in her mid 30s, so it’s not like I can even chalk it up to an age thing. Which is such shocking and juvenile behaviour for someone in her position. I am beyond hurt
