I'm sorry that the post is so long!! I am NOT asking for a diagnosis. I'm asking if I read the symptoms right. And I don't self-diagnose.I thought this would be the right subreddit to ask, but tell me if I'm wrong!
I (16f) am not diagnosed with autism, but I had two psychologists tell me that it is possible I have it, and my current therapist told me I can get diagnosed. I suspected I could have it for some months now, but now that I could get diagnosed I start to doubt it.
I was never bullied, never made fun of, never anything. But I was always shy, awkward and kind of weird. I always struggled with communication and socializing, and I told it multiple times to my mum, but she always told me that I am just a "shy and introverted person". Like no, mum, I can't make or hold a conversation, I never know what to say, sometimes I can't bring out words for several seconds. When I was little I barely spoke up in class, and now I haven't raised my hand in two years (in class).
But I'm not that sensitive to sounds. Sometimes I can be in loud places without a problem, but when my sisters start talking too loudly and too much, I get overwhelmed. But I am very sensitive to smells since I was young.4 And often when I am in overwhelming places or situations, I shut down anf speak only when necessary, and the world around me doesn't feel real. I don't know what that means though.
About the routines, I don't know either. Like, I have my routines I HAVE to do (like wakinp up, washinf my teeth then face, and eat afterwards). I also like to come home from school and not leave the house afterwards (I could cry if my mum unexpectedly tells me we leave somewhere) and I hate leaving home in general. But when plans change or get canceled, I could cry. Some days ago my friends and I wanted to go studying to the library. My options were going home or to the library. So when it turned out that the library was closed and they wanted to go study in the park, I went home. Because park wasn't an option. And I was almost crying, I was so upset about it.
I don't know if I have a special interest. I would say books, because I am so obsessed with reading and buying books, and they have to always look brand-new. Not even one crease anywhere. And I was obsessed with Harry Potter since I was 8 years old. That would count too, I guess.
And the stimming part I am unsure. I do move something all the time. I always move my legs, bounce it or something. Or shake my hands a bit. Fidget with my hands. Blink my eyes weirdly. I developed a weird movement with mt head (my mum always jokes it's like a chicken). And if I don't visibly do those things, I move my toes a lot. Like, a lot. I even move when I fall asleep.
I have my ways to do things in an order. I love to arrange things in their colors, heights, appearance. And similar.
I don't know what to think of it. I could be autistic, but what if I'm not? Then the assessment would be unnecessary and embarassing. What would you do in my place? (I'm sorry that it's so long!)

It is a place that appears to be a smaller-scale copy of a European city with elements of New York since it has an area that simulates being the big city and another with smaller houses that actually function as hotel rooms for when humans visit the city.
There are several places in Crystal City for humans to explore, but among all those points of interest, the most notable are: The residential area, the banightclub, the shopping plaza, the office area, the university, and the slums. Found this little gem by random chance. Title is a hopefully relatable quote from the article. You can agree or disagree with the author, but it's actually pretty well written with sources included. For a second, my brain tried to normalize the incident: This is just my daughter’s dad stopping by—except there are two of him, and they’re dressed as electricians for some reason? Then, a second later, everything whooshed into place: Oh, wait, I’m being robbed. Or, rather, I was being burgled. I would get reminded of this distinction later, when I made the dubious choice to join the chorus of aggrieved buttinskies on Nextdoor, where my well-meaning post to warn the neighborhood would turn me into an accidental vigilante hero for a day.
Unfortunately, it’s true: My reaction to this burgle was the lived-out fantasy of many who have been on the business end of a property crime. As the two goons took off on foot down my street, I went into fight-or-flight mode—and I chose fight.
“Well,” I said to my confused child, “let’s go see if we can get our stuff back.”
I peeled my 2005 Subaru back onto the street and easily overtook my two targets, who then hurtled themselves into an alley, whereupon I cornered one by the driver’s side window as the other made haste across the adjacent parking lot.
“Just give it back, bro!” I yelled out my window. “Just give it back! I’m a single mom! Just give it back.”
I repeated this until either I reminded him too much of his meanest teacher or he realized he’d been caught in broad daylight. “Fine,” he said. “Just fucking take it.”
He shoved a backpack through my driver’s side window. Inside it was both my laptops and my daughter’s iPad from school. Back at home, I would discover these guys had used channel lock pliers to force open the back door, but that the general chaos of my home had prevented them from locating my passport, jewelry, or sole item of irreplaceable value: the Montblanc fountain pen that my father, who died in a bicycle accident two years ago, had gotten for his law school graduation. My cat was unfazed.
I can honestly tell you that this little caper of mine was thrilling and deeply satisfying. It was also the exact wrong thing to do. Even this fanatical open-carry gun website implores: “Don’t chase criminals.” What if these two dipsticks had been armed? As unlikely as that was—property crime in my town is often driven by addiction, and weapons are worth money, which can buy drugs—I put myself and my child in potential danger. And for what? Three grand worth of electronics. As any reputable expert will tell you, you’re never to give chase to a thief, because human life is not worth possessions. As much as I admit to enjoying being called a “badass” by everyone I told this story, plus the listeners of KLCC Oregon, I should not have done this.
I did call the police, on the nonemergency line, because the dudes were long gone and nobody was hurt. I declined the dispatcher’s offer to send two officers to fingerprint a bunch of stuff I’d already touched. At best, that would have just added two more sets of prints to my town’s burgeoning roster of perennially at-large property criminals.

And I’m sorry, but a stolen bike isn’t the priority.”
Well, trust me, in this town, it definitely isn’t. Recovering those bikes was an anomaly; in Eugene, most of these burglaries go unsolved. In fact, 87 percent of burglaries in the whole country do, too. The get-tough-on-property-crime proponents assert that statistically, this sends a message that stealing is fair game, and sure, that is a message I do not condone. But I also agree with a somewhat less rabid version of the opposing view: Property is replaceable, these crimes are nonviolent, and everyone currently rifling through houses and dealing drugs out of tents in my town is human. They deserve a chance to get their lives on track.

All of these options, however, are a tough sell even in a “progressive” town like Eugene, where supervised consumption sites are what NIMBY nightmares are made of, and low-barrier treatment can run up against deeply held moral stigma: Gas is $5 a gallon, and my taxes are going to some junkie?
In the meantime, while some admirably advocate and vote and wait for those breakthroughs, what should we do about the burglaries themselves? Should we pursue more law enforcement, or more compassion toward the burglars? More arrests that allegedly might deter this, or policies that might alleviate income inequality? Does—as approximately 83 percent of the suggestions from my Nextdoor thread contended—every house in town need a tripwire that handcuffs trespassers on sight? Or should all businesses be taxed at 500 percent, and the proceeds used to furnish every fentanyl dealer in town with a nice apartment and mad cash? The debate has degenerated such that these are the sorts of cartoonish positions each side believes they’re fighting—and, in fact, are the only available choices. The actual blight on small American towns like mine isn’t property crime. It’s that any tenable solution to it has been swallowed up into a churning abyss of extremism and perceived counterextremism. I am moving out of state and have been posting on Facebook marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp- and I’ll have people ask me if an item is available and then just completely ghost me. I am planning to take a trip out west and then back next summer. Plan is start in mid-June and head to Denver first. Then we will make the following stops:

Our plan is to visit as many parks as possible in between each stop listed. I will list all the ones we are thinking of now: RMNP, Utah 5, Grand Canyon, Kings Canyon, Seqouia, Yosemite, Redwoods, Crater Lake, Mt Renier, North Cascades, Yellowstone, Galcier, Banff
I suspect we need at least 15-20 days just for driving if we average 8-9 hours of driving daily. If we keep 2 days for each park, that’s about 45 days of sightseeing and total 65 days for the trip.
Weather wise, by the time we get to Northern parks, it should be August and they should be fully open.

I thought it would be a fun idea to write out my headcanons for the other, unmentioned settlements/cities in the New California Republic. As a SoCal native, I thought it would also be fun seeing how some notable cities in the region would look in the fallout universe. I’ve only included places in Southern California because I honestly don’t have too much detailed knowledge about central/northern CA cities.
I tried fitting it in with the lore at the time of New Vegas in 2281, but there might be a few mistakes here and there.
-Escondido: Settlement located along the former 15 freeway and acts as a trade settlement on the way to San Diego. Population: 400. Facing raider attacks from nearby Camp Pendleton and feeling like they’ve been failed by the NCR, some local leaders have considered asking the Temecula Super Mutants to assist in a joint assault on the camp. Population: 500.
-San Diego: Though one of the founding states of the New California Republic, San Diego, now known as Dayglow, is severely underfunded and underdefended compared to other States. Some say this is because of its distance from the capital, others says its because of continued discriminiation towards Ghouls and Super Mutants who helped found the settlement. Despite this, it still operates as a thriving scrap hub and exports many of the materials used by NCR soldiers, vehicles, and machinery. Many smaller settlements still exist in areas farther from downtown, the most major of which include El Cajon, Chula Vista, and Miramar. The latter is the main NCR facility in the area, and has been requesting additional support from Shady Sands to help defeat the Camp Pendleton Raiders. Though having the threat of Raiders in the northwest as well as threats of increased radiation exposure from the Glow in the northeast, many of these settlements are some of the most advanced in the NCR due to the pre-war governance and technology maintained by the descendants of Vault 72. Located near Balboa Park, Vault 72 is the only known vault in the area. Though initially an experiment vault, like Vault 81 in the Commonwealth, its operations were cut short, in this case after a mutiny against the scientists and Overseer by the inhabitants, many of whom were Ex-military due to the Vault’s close distance to the San Diego Navy Yards. For the next century and a half, Vault 72 acted as a control vault. Eventually, its systems started to fail, and many of its inhabitants exited the vault in search of new settlements, bringing the technology and infrastructure found in the vaults with them. As the New California Republic expands, there have been rumors among NCR soldiers about restoring some of the abandoned Navy ships in the former San Diego harbor, though nothing has been completely confirmed. The Brotherhood of Steel also seeks to acquire former military technology in the area, but has been unable to do so.
-San Bernardino: Took the most nuclear strikes out of all cities in SoCal’s Inland Empire during the Great War. Due to this, Feral Ghoul encounters are common in the area, though their population has been dwindling in recent years due to Rubidoux settlers and NCR forces slowly clearing up the area, mainly to help caravans from the area safely travel the 215 freeway to reach high desert settlements.
-Temecula: Reclaimed by former Master Super Mutants into a small settlement, population of 50. Do not mind caravans using the former 15 freeway that goes through the city to reach the San Diego area.
-Hemet: Thriving farm town. Decently isolated from the SoCal sprawl, Hemet is relatively sleepy and peaceful. Supplies a decent amount of crops to the IE region. Nothing really interesting about it besides that. Population: 300.
-Palm Springs: Run by the remnants of the Agua-Caliente, Cabazon, and Morongo Native American Tribes. Due to its strategic prominence, being south of the Mojave and west of Arizona, as well as its proximity to the Idyllwild training grounds and routes to Shady Sands, it has become popular with many NCR higher-ups, many of whom own second homes in the town. Population: 1,000. Vault 93: Located in the foothills of the San Jacinto Mountains. Experimental vault studying the effects of celebrity influence. A dozen celebrities were selected among the 900 civilians who entered the vault, where factions aligning with each of them divided up the leadership inside. No holotapes have been found showing what happened next, though it is to assume that whatever played out led to Vault 93 being opened and vacated. Though considered by the NCR to be repurposed, it sits abandoned, now silently overlooking the Sonoran wastes.
-Irvine: Largely an NCR base centered around the former John Wayne Airport, though there are a decent amount of civilians who have set up shop to cater to the large soldier population. The 452nd Battalion is stationed at the airport, though their numbers have dwindled due to transfers to the Mojave. This has made them unable to respond to the Camp Pendleton Raiders. Population (including soldiers): 2,000.
-San Clemente: A “Ghoul only” settlement ran by wealthy pre-war Ghouls who maintain the area. Despite the exclusivity, it has maintained a population of over 1,000 mainly by bringing in other Ghouls from Orange County and the surrounding area. The Mission Inn, located in the former downtown, is now utilized as an NCR armory and base. Possible plans to rebuild more of downtown have been discussed by local leaders, but not implemented. Vault 54 is located near Rubidoux on the base of Box Springs Mountain. We're both thinking we don't want to live in DC itself, again due to security, but also driving and all of that kind of thing.
Anyone have any recommendations? Suggestions of places we haven't thought of / heard of? Any other things to consider?

So tl;dr - my husband is going to be working at the Pentagon, he will be going to work on public transport - where should we live?
We're moving to NoVA in mid-June, and are in a big debate about where to live.
We're eligible for up to a 4 bed, and our budget for a 4 bed is $4,533, and for a 3 bed $4,259. This is the amount the British Embassy will pay, we can go over this for the right property, but we would have to pay for the top up bit, which is fine, but would need to be the right place / property.
We don't have any children, but are looking at starting a family in a year or so. We will be there for around 3 years, so don't need to worry about schools or anything like that.
We're only going to get one car, so my husband is going to use public transport (ie metro or bus), or walk, to work at the Pentagon, also, parking there is expensive and limited, which is why this is the better option for us. He doesn't want this to be longer than 45 mins, but ideally less than 30 mins.
I'm inclined towards an apartment in the Pentagon City / Crystal City area, the idea of an apartment appeals to me as it seems more secure in the sense of if people are going to break in etc, they have more doors to get through and things. As well as having a pool and a gym on site. Also, quite a few of these are in an area where he could walk to work or its like 10 mins on the metro. Currently we're looking at Water Park Towers. There aren't really any 4 bed apartments, and finding 3 beds is quite difficult.
The other option is a more traditional house in Falls Church, which is where a lot of the British families live. When we do have a baby, this seems like quite a family friendly area to live, and fits the white picket fence vibe my husband had in mind. Yep! And those are all super groovy! My newsletter is primarily a place for me to compile a curated list of things happening all over town, not just in the downtown spaces. There are small, DIY shows almost every day, and they generally don’t have a budget or the know how to promote themselves on platforms where you’re going to see.
