So, I am still in shock writing this post and I haven’t told anyone yet, not even my husband. I think the first thing I need to do is speak with my husband and then decide what we want to do. I am not sure how he will feel about this. I’m going to go on a whole ride here because this is still so unbelievable.
I (25f) was left millions of dollars by an older guy I use to date. Back in 2017 when I was in college, I went to Florida to spend the summer with my uncle. I use to frequent the Las Olas area and one evening while I was out with some friends who lived in Florida, I met an older gentleman. I was 20 at the time, not a lot of experience with men or anything really.
This guy was in his early 60s but definitely looked 45 max. We started dating and mostly, I would just attend these high end events with him like galas and yacht parties and travel around the states a lot. At this time, his wife had just passed on a year ago and during the summer I met his son casually at a dinner party at his place. I would run into his son whenever I was at his place and we had a good relationship.
Dating this guy was super refreshing, like, a finer kind of life I was never really use to. It was just a fun time and all throughout this time, we never slept together once. We would kiss and cuddle but he never initiated sex. It was just great conversation, he told me about all his life experiences and how he made his money, he was into real estate, investing, and the hotel industry. He gave me a lot of advice about money etc. In the back of my mind, I knew he had money ofc but I didn’t realize he had this much money. Anyway, I was in college for Nursing (I am now an CVICU nurse) and at the end of the summer I had to go back to the North for school. A few days before I left, he actually sat me down and asked me if I really wanted to finish school. He basically was asking me to quit school and move to Florida with him and just kind of be his trophy girl. (Which honestly is what I was during the summer) I thought about it and even though it seemed easy, I honestly didn’t know a whole lot about this man, and I never saw myself as that person. I wanted the career, and the degree, and to make my own money. I never ever asked him for money or for anything at all. I just genuinely enjoyed his company.
I wanted to continue to date him however, but he said he couldn’t do the long distance and if we were going to date he would want me to live with him. For me, it was just all too soon. And the huge age gap I wasn’t sure this was something I wanted long term. We ended up going our separate ways but we still kept in touch. Checked in on each other every couple of months. Just hi and bye. I eventually got married. I of course told my husband about that relationship because it did mean a lot to me and I did care about him. The last time I spoke to him was about 3 months ago.
Well, the executor of his estate contacted me a few days ago. A few hours later his son also called me and we talked for a long time about him and how he passed. Honestly, at first I didn’t believe that it was real but after talking with his son. Wow. His son told me this guy talked about me so much and that he told him I pulled him out of depression and sadness after his mom died. His son told me I meant a lot to him because the time I came into his life was a really rough time and I made it better.
I feel so many emotions because I never knew our relationship meant so much to him. I am very grateful he thought of me and I am still not sure if I should accept this money. I am a nurse and while nurses don’t make millions, I make good money to live a comfortable life. My husband also has a great job as well. I will be talking with my husband about it soon. I don’t really know a lot about money but yea… I’m still in shock. I never thought I would ever have this amount of money my entire life.
Tldr; I got left millions of dollars by someone I use to casually date. I am now married.

OOP: Not romantic or filmy at all. Just a regular way people meet. We were at a restaurant that had a bar, I went up to the bar to grab some drinks for us and he was there and offered to pay for them. He asked me to sit at the bar with him and I told him I was already out with some friends. We decided to exchange numbers and he called me. We chatted for a few days and then he asked me out to lunch. Our relationship wasn’t like, romantic or dreamy or anything of the sort. It was just a good time.AnotherAnimeNerd: Aside from talking to your husband, I'd talk to the son as well. You're in a spot where you and your family can live comfortably (granted, not making any bad financial decisions).
When he asked me to move to Florida he just explained he really enjoyed my company and spending time with me and he wanted to explore where this might go. It wasn’t like, “I’m inlove with you and I want to be with you forever” type thing. Thats part of the reason why I am kind of stunned.

OOP: I talked to his son a few days ago. He wanted to be cremated so his son is going to do that and its just him, his friends, and a couple of extended family members. I will speak with my husband to see if he would be okay with going. OOP: Sometimes good companionship is more meaningful than sexual escapades. Not saying we both weren’t attracted to each other but it was more than that. And also, you can form lasting relationships with people your own age. There are a lot of high value men in their 30s who will give you the world if they can and not abuse and take advantage of you, but of course you should treat them the way you want to be treated. Just be genuine. I have dated men who are way well off in their 20s. There is nothing wrong with wanting to date someone who is financially capable, society makes it seem like there is something wrong with that. I’ve never asked any man I’ve ever dated for money or other things. You become your environment and the people you hang around. I’ve learnt a lot about investing and real estate just by being among this crowd. Sometimes that knowledge is way more important than anything else. And if they happen to be 20, 30, 40 years older than you… so what? My husband isn’t a millionaire ofc, but he makes good money and he for sure is a high value man that will take care of me in many ways, and I will do the same for him.

Yesterday was my birthday 21st, and this year, I wanted to celebrate it with friends. I don't have any family where I am, and I haven't celebrated it since I was 11. My fiance wanted to plan this year out for me, so I gave him full control.
2 days before one by one friends he invited months ahead called and said they didn't take off work, so they can't come. They offered to show the week after on his birthday but not mine. (I'm not upset at my boyfriend he really did try hard) Months ahead of my birthday, I kept asking my fiance, Should I give him a group of my friends numbers, so it's more than just our friend group. He didn't do that, so when I called other friends asking them if they wanna hang out, they understandably had thing they were doing. (I asked if they could hang out the day before, of or after)
The part I'm most upset about is my so-called best friend of 9 years. This marks the third year she's missed my birthday. This year, she had nothing planned for her own birthday and was bummed out. So I took her on a day out we went to the mall, I bought a bunch of presents we went out to eat. She asked me to get a matching outfit, and I did.
The day before my birthday, my Fiance had tickets to a rage room. He bought it months in advance for 4 people. I called my best friend and she said she would make it after work. I got 1 friend to come. An hour before we had to go, she texted that she couldn't make it because she was at a mall 40 minutes from me. Mind you, she got off at 5, and we were supposed to get her a 7. But she said she would call off the day of my birthday to spend time with me throughout the day and go to my birthday dinner.
The day of my birthday, she sent me a text saying happy birthday. I waited hours to see if she was gonna come and spend the day with me. She wasn't replying to 6. we asked her boyfriend (who is coincidentally my boyfriends best friend of 19 years) if she's coming, and he said not that he's aware of. I looked at her story, and she wasn't at work but a BBQ. She took off of work, I gave grace and waited for the time of my birthday dinner. She texts 1 hour before asking what I'm doing. I said, getting ready for my dinner, I asked if she was still coming.
She said, "I don't wanna be a third wheel, so no." At that point, I burst into tears. I sent an okay, and that was all. My love and I went out to eat by ourselves. But, I called a friend that I had never been out with before, and we all went to a bar and played darts and games at the last minute. I had a blast doing that. My birthday cake was delivered a day late so today me and my love sang happy birthday to me.
At this point, I'm just depressed/disappointed. I think this friendship is over. This was supposed to be a milestone birthday. Next year I might just travel to my family. But its the point that I try so hard for everyone else to feel special on their birthday, and not many seem to give the same energy back. I think a valuable lesson was taught. People will make time for who they want to make time for. I am thankful to everyone who showed up

Two thoughts/questions: 1. What have I done? This feels like an unbeatable way to take a ship, assuming that neither mangonel nor ballista can aim high enough to hit the birds, who can quickly get themselves to 200’ or more away from the deck and still hit targets with impunity.

- 90-ish feet above where the deck of the ship will be a short time later, one of them casts Rope Trick on a one-inch piece of rope and they all hide inside.
- As the ship passes. Slow they all leap out, dive to be within range for Hunter’s Mark, having had time to discuss and select their individual targets, then fly upwards back out of normal range for most weapons and unleash their longbows. They prioritize the officers, since common crew will probably go down from a single arrow anyway.
- With no penalties for long range, ignoring half and three quarters cover, this group should quickly be able to clear the decks while staying out of range of most ranged weapons and spells.
- Meanwhile, a group of air genesi swashbuckler rogues have been swimming along beneath the ship, hanging on to it below the waterline out of sight. Once the decks are clear they can hang on and climb the sides using levitation to make the climb trivial and holding on to the boat to overcome levitation’s limitations on lateral movement.
- With the Aarakocra providing air cover, the rogues can sneak/hunt through the rest of the ship mopping up lurkers and other survivors. Judicious use of Silence and Pass Without Trace will help keep things quiet, and perhaps a couple of soul knife rogues could provide Psychic Whispers to facilitate comms during the assault.

I have a pretty high tolerance naturally, though, and only had two shots and two Trulys before we left. I felt a little tipsy, but by the time we got to the club, I had sobered up a fair amount.
When we got to the club, my friend bought everyone a round of drinks and I also decided to get a shot. After the shot, I kept making eye contact with a guy and decided to go up and talk to him. He ended up buying my group a round of shots and then offered to buy me a drink. I always drink Vodka Redbull and I’m certain I told him this at one point. When we got to the bar for him to order our drinks, there was a Cranberry Vodka sitting on the counter that he said was for me.
My memory gets very hazy starting here, but I do not remember seeing the bartender pour this drink. I typically do not take drinks unless I see them made and handed to me, but I had already drank a good bit that night (enough to make me ignore details, but I still felt in control of what I was doing), and he had already spent well over $50 on drinks for me and my friends, so I kind of trusted him. Against my better judgement, I took the drink. I don’t remember anything really after drinking it, and what little parts I do remember came from what my friends told me and are still very fuzzy.
I remember that I kissed him, but can’t picture it or anything. I was also trying to go home with him, and my friends have said since that he was kind of pushy about it. Luckily, my friends did end up scaring him off and he suggested we hang out another time (he lives like ten hours from me).
As soon as we got outside, I began throwing up a lot. Like, a lot. I’ve never thrown up that much from drinking before. I could not stop. My friends called an Uber and I do not remember getting in the Uber or getting back. One of my friends told me that I stood up out of the Uber and immediately fell over. I was drunk. My good friend was with me. We had both just gone through breakups and she decided to visit me to hang out and go to the state fair. We had been at the baclub for a while at this point. She was being bitter. My other friend came with us but he was being a debbie downer. I ended up being asked to dance so I did so. I was dancing with this younger black man with long dreads. He was teaching me to two step. Honestly, I was already drinking for a while, but I was having a great time. I kept checking in with my friend. She was on her phone a lot and I decided I wasn't going to just sit there while she texted some guy 2 hours or so away. That's when I decided to go dance.
To be clear, at no point was I black out drunk or out of control. I was buzzed and happy.
She mentions this guy she's talking to. She invites him to the bar with us. He was drinking with some friend of his. My friend and I sent them a bathroom mirror selfie not saying anything provocative or anything, at least not that I know of. Either way, he calls her at some point. He's there but his buddy wasn't allowed in...because he showed up to a country baclub in sweatpants. He was already drunk too. They are discussing this when the guy she invited (a man a few years older than us going through a divorce and custody battle...mind you we are somewhere around 22 and 25). I feel bad for him and we go out to the parking lot to talk with the friend and see what he wants to do. He says he is fine waiting in the lot. I don't know who, but someone was like well let's go get food so he can be included. So I was like sure and my friend and I get in our car, the guy she invited and his friend get into their own car with the plan that we all meet somewhere to get food. I don't remember the specifics of how it happened, but we didn't get food. I think the place they wanted was closed or something. Either way, she invites these two men that are strangers to me to MY apartment. I had a just over 500 sq ft studio apartment in a bad part of town. I had 3 bar stools, no couch, no where to sit, just my bed and the chairs. I wasn't comfortable with this but my opinion wasn't heeded.
We get to the apartment. I know I made a shot for everyone. The friend of the guy my friend invited wanted to drink all my alcohol basically. I told him no because I was a student and that shit's expensive. He wasn't about to wipe out all my liquor on his own. But my friend and the guy she invited say they're going to take a step outside to talk about something. I found out later they went to his truck to talk about them or whatever. Well, this means I am left with this asshole friend of the guy.
I had been sitting on my bed when my friend left the apartment to step outside. I had been trying to be polite and let my guests have the chairs. Some things get fuzzy here. I know the friend of the guy came and sat by me. He started trying to touch me and kiss me. I told him I wasn't interested and I didn't do hookups. He starts telling me about his baby momma and his kid. He said some stuff that made me think he was a bit of an awful person but I don't remember exactly what it was now. Anywho, he tries to sit right by me, a 110-120lb very petite girl. I try to move away while still being polite. He starts putting his hands on me. Sliding them up my shirt and trying to grab my chest. I tell him no and to stop. I say I'm not interested. He says don't worry he'll come visit me and we can go out later so it's not just a hook up. I didn't control him coming down here or tell them to. I didn't want them in my apartment. I didn't want to be alone with them.

He finishes the session by sitting on a bench with a harness connected to his forehead, a weight hanging in front of his chest. He lowers his head to look at the ground, then flexes his neck muscles to raise his head and look straight ahead, an old-school neck exercise that few gym-goers will do. Smith does it regularly. "Regardless of how tired I get, no matter what the workout is, I at least will try it," he says between deep breaths. "I'm not going to say no to anything. "
You may not have Method Man's fancy neck-training gear or his deadlift weight. But if you have a resistance band, you can try his favorite at-home regimen.

On this morning, he's in a Staten Island gym pondering his next milestone birthday (he turns 50 in March) and crushing sets of deadlifts, pullups, and barbell rows. "I gotta get my roses now," he says,"because I'm almost 50 fucking years old. Damn near 50 years old, bruh. "The Grammy Award-winning rap veteran has focused creativity into a host of projects lately. He appears in Starz's drama Power Book II: Ghost (returning for the second half of its first season in December); he voiced the character Ben Urich in Marvels, a narrative-fiction podcast; and he's working on new music.

Im 28 M and she is 27F. We started dating in early 2017. I was a single dad when she met me and we clicked right away. She was leaving to spend valentines week with him. And she did leave. When she came back she tried to talk to me but I was in shambles. My heart was broken. eventually I gave in and said yeah let’s hangout. Before I knew it we were spending everyday together again and we were behaving like a couple again. But then came reality hitting me hard. I was using her iPad earlier this month and I went on her calendar to figure out a date for us to go on a trip. Hanging back at the ranger station today, seems like it should be a nice weekend. Weather cleared up after that long ass winter and the snows about cleared up. We’ve been tasked with monitoring this herd of elk moving through the area. I guess they’ve been displaying some “anomalous” behavior, approaching tourists seemingly unaware or unafraid of the potential danger. Odd but not unlike anything we’ve seen before. I’ve had Tim Dog posted up in the hunter’s perch for a few hours watching em. Gonna go radio for a report pretty soon. Other than that not much going on out here. Just the wind rustling in the pines and my good old girl Taby. She’s such a sweet dog :)

Entry: Something strange is going on here. Tim is back but with some interesting news. He spent another day up there monitoring the herd, but…. Something’s off. He used the Elk call we gave him and it worked, but it seems it might’ve worked a bit too well. Soon as the herd showed up, they just…. watched him. For hours. He was too scared to climb back down so he radio’d for a couple rangers. Rangers came and tried scaring em off, but the Elk wouldn’t budge. They just stood there, staring at him. In my 25 years of doing this I’ve never once seen Elk behave this way. Our current hypothesis is some kind of infection, but so far there just isn’t enough to say. I don’t like this. Not one bit. We’re gonna try to take samples from the Elk in hopes of finding out what in God’s name is going on out here.

Entry: Well it’s official - something is going on. We took samples of blood and urine from the Elk to be analyzed back at the lab in Sac. One of the rangers spotted what looked like some kind of tick or parasite latched onto one of the Elk. But when he tried to remove the Elk went berserk. Smacked him up badly and he had to go to the medic. We got a closer look after isolating one of em and it seems to track. We found a small, worm-like creature attached just beneath the haunch, tucked in the skin between the abdomen and the haunch of the Elk. It was half burrowed inside and didn’t seem to respond to any physical contact, but when we went for removal, the Elk started acting up again. So we latched it down and tried tranquilizing it. No dice. Elk won’t go to sleep. Won’t do anything except eat and stare. There is no way we’re dealing with some novel species. The hell is going on here? A larva that infects Elk—in North America none the less? It’s stranger than fiction. Anyway I’ve been having trouble sleeping the past few nights pondering the possibilities. In other news apparently some of the townies have been acting up lately. Man found dead out on the trail along with a few others in the same spot. Signs of predation after death. Folks been reporting hearing and witnessing strange behavior from their neighbors. The more I stay here the less I feel safe. If it weren’t for my job security I’d have left days ago. This place is starting to give me the creeps.

Entry: Lab reports came back. Supposedly heightened amounts of adrenaline and cortisol are present in the blood. They also found trace amounts of what seem to be tiny hairs, mycelia-like in nature. What. The. Fuck. We’ve begun postulating there could be some sort of fungal infection but this wouldn’t track with the presence of larvae in our Elk. None of it makes sense. I’m concerned we’re dealing with some sort of invasive species but I lack any explanation of what it could be. My sleep has become worse and worse over time. Lately I could swear I’m hearing shit. Thought I heard the voice of old Tim saying “Help, Help” in between strange mumblings and clickings. But when I get out of my bunk to look around—nothing. Hope I’m not losing it. I’ve heard the townies have been acting up even worse. Wandering about aimlessly in the woods. There was a bear attack just yesterday. Apparently the man sat there while the bear ate him, completely straight faced. I put in a request for transport back home to Sacramento. I’m done with this shit. I’ve seen enough. This ain’t the one for me. I know some young up and comer might want to come out here to finish my research. But I’m getting too old for this type of shit. I want to see my kids graduate.

This could be my last entry. I honestly don’t know. I’m to wait for transport home hopefully by July 2nd but I don’t know if I’ll make it that long. Tim is gone. He’s gone. Found dead in a cougar’s den about 10 miles away from base camp. But I swear to God I keep hearing him. I think I’ve lost my mind. There’s something in the goddamned cellar. And it’s mimicking Tim. I can hear him cry. I can hear him beg for my help. It’s real. I swear to God it’s real. I can’t get a wink of sleep and I’m counting the minutes till sun down every night. I’m scared. I want to go home. The rangers all left base camp overnight. I don’t blame them. Something’s the matter. Half the population in town has gone mad. People in droves, just wandering into the woods.
I’m going to go into the basement. I need to find out for myself what’s really going on here. Janelle, I love you. I’ll never forget that time we spent in Bora Bora after you finished your thesis. Take care of the kids. Tell Jackson his daddy loves him. Show them my catalogues. Teach them to love nature. I have to go. I love you.

Entry: Lab reports came back. Supposedly heightened amounts of adrenaline and cortisol are present in the blood. They also found trace amounts of what seem to be tiny hairs, mycelia-like in nature. What. The. Fuck. We’ve begun postulating there could be some sort of fungal infection but this wouldn’t track with the presence of larvae in our Elk. None of it makes sense. I’m concerned we’re dealing with some sort of invasive species but I lack any explanation of what it could be. My sleep has become worse and worse over time. Lately I could swear I’m hearing shit. Thought I heard the voice of old Tim saying “Help, Help” in between strange mumblings and clickings. But when I get out of my bunk to look around—nothing. Hope I’m not losing it. I’ve heard the townies have been acting up even worse. Wandering about aimlessly in the woods. There was a bear attack just yesterday. Apparently the man sat there while the bear ate him, completely straight faced. I put in a request for transport back home to Sacramento. I’m done with this shit. I’ve seen enough. This ain’t the one for me. I know some young up and comer might want to come out here to finish my research. But I’m getting too old for this type of shit. I want to see my kids graduate.

This could be my last entry. I honestly don’t know. I’m to wait for transport home hopefully by July 2nd but I don’t know if I’ll make it that long. Tim is gone. He’s gone. Hanging back at the ranger station today, seems like it should be a nice weekend. Weather cleared up after that long ass winter and the snows about cleared up. We’ve been tasked with monitoring this herd of elk moving through the area. I guess they’ve been displaying some “anomalous” behavior, approaching tourists seemingly unaware or unafraid of the potential danger. Odd but not unlike anything we’ve seen before. I’ve had Tim Dog posted up in the hunter’s perch for a few hours watching em. Gonna go radio for a report pretty soon. Other than that not much going on out here. Just the wind rustling in the pines and my good old girl Taby. She’s such a sweet dog :)

Entry: Something strange is going on here. Tim is back but with some interesting news. He spent another day up there monitoring the herd, but…. Something’s off. He used the Elk call we gave him and it worked, but it seems it might’ve worked a bit too well. Soon as the herd showed up, they just…. watched him. For hours. He was too scared to climb back down so he radio’d for a couple rangers. Rangers came and tried scaring em off, but the Elk wouldn’t budge. They just stood there, staring at him. In my 25 years of doing this I’ve never once seen Elk behave this way. Our current hypothesis is some kind of infection, but so far there just isn’t enough to say. I don’t like this. Not one bit. We’re gonna try to take samples from the Elk in hopes of finding out what in God’s name is going on out here.

Entry: Well it’s official - something is going on. We took samples of blood and urine from the Elk to be analyzed back at the lab in Sac. One of the rangers spotted what looked like some kind of tick or parasite latched onto one of the Elk. But when he tried to remove the Elk went berserk. Smacked him up badly and he had to go to the medic. We got a closer look after isolating one of em and it seems to track. We found a small, worm-like creature attached just beneath the haunch, tucked in the skin between the abdomen and the haunch of the Elk. It was half burrowed inside and didn’t seem to respond to any physical contact, but when we went for removal, the Elk started acting up again. So we latched it down and tried tranquilizing it. No dice. Elk won’t go to sleep. Won’t do anything except eat and stare. There is no way we’re dealing with some novel species. The hell is going on here? A larva that infects Elk—in North America none the less? It’s stranger than fiction. Anyway I’ve been having trouble sleeping the past few nights pondering the possibilities. In other news apparently some of the townies have been acting up lately. Man found dead out on the trail along with a few others in the same spot. Signs of predation after death. 2024.05.29 04:19 Rat-Wench Anyone else here had a long established piercing suddenly start rejecting?
Just the title, really- I had my bridge pierced about 8 years ago (as best I can remember) with a curved barbell, and never had any issues beyond the healing period. For the last couple of months or so it's been getting irritated for no reason- I keep it clean, never catch it, and I haven't changed the bar besides the first downsize from the initial jewellery.
A couple of days ago I noticed that there was a lot of metal showing around the edges, and decided it was time to let it go. I probably could have kept it a while longer but I didn't want to wait til it was hanging on by a thread.
Anyone else had this happen to them? I know surface piercings are relatively likely to reject and aren't really considered 'permanent' piercings, but why after all this time, and with no apparent cause? I miss my piercing, guys :(

So I've come to the horrible realization that I have no social life and I have no idea how I'd get started on building one. To make things clear from the start, this isn't cause of social anxiety or anything. I'm not a nervous persona and never had issues holding a conversation. My problem here is born of pure ignorance. I just don't know where people hang out or really how to establish relationships. I can maintain a friendship fine. I got friends. I just don't know how to start one. These people just found me and I managed to not scare them off.
To give you some background on I've just always been solitary given most of my hobbies (playing guitar, drawing, movies/books/games) are stuff you do alone in a room. I also never hung out much with people outside school cause I lived pretty far from everyone in school. I got into this nerd school thing (I'm honestly not sure what it's called cause it wasn't private) in case you're wondering what the circumstances are where I lived far away from everyone else. So even though I wanted to and people wanted to hang with me, I never really had much opportunity to since I always had stuff right after class and shit was too far to really meet em over weekends. And even in the very rare cases I was able to visit friends or they were able to visit me, these people are naturally gonna be pretty similar to me so we just did the same shit I'd do alone just with other people in the room. I figured stuff would change in college but for financial reasons I went to community college, and the one I went to was very much a "finish your classes and leave" kind of deal. Most people there weren't even around my age. So I ain't really meet people and I couldn't hang out with my friends and meet people through them cause they went out of state. Got a job but at a Thai restaurant but they ended up putting me in the back where nobody I interacted with regularly spoke English. After that I transferred to a state college and here I thought "finally, now's my chance to have a normal social life and hang out with people", but of course God had a really funny sense of humor cause right before I graduated from county the pandemic happened. The universe saw I had a chance at having a social life and through divine intervention prevented that from happening. So I basically just spend the last to years of my college online. Last year was hybrid so I went out a little but going to a tech school turns out everyone there is also pretty much isolated nerds. My roommate didn't even leave his room. I had to make sure he wasn't dead a few times and honestly I'm not convinced he wasn't. I'd fully believe if he reanimated by the fungus that grew from his pizza. Anyway then I graduated and since the job market wasn't great I took an opportunity for a job in Maryland when it arose. Thing is that state is very far from where all my friends, family and really everyone I know lives so if I was hoping to meet people through them after they came back from college that got ruined. Cheapest place I was able to find that's close to my work was a studio so I have no roommates. All my coworkers are also about a decade+ older than me and have families and shit, so I can't really hang out with them. I feel like I keeping winning a lottery in how to live the most accidentally isolated life ever. My parents are probably happy I'm the rare person that actually focused on my education and didn't go out partying and shit (tho that's more due to circumstances and not choice), but I imagine the pressure of finding someone's gonna ramp up eventually and I'd rather get ahead on that.
So if anyone can just give me some basic advice on where to meet people please help. I know bars are a thing just based off movies but I'm not much of a drinker. I can stomach it if that's the only place but I imagine people are hanging out outside bars in real life. I just don't know where. Part of this is my fault I know, I probably could've made choices to put myself out there more or be more proactive but I've always felt content with my life and never really wanted more till now. Just kind of woke up alone one day and thought "I don't think I've talked to another human being in person, that wasn't a coworker for months" and I want that to change. My boyfriend (18M) and I (18F) have been together for 7 months now and we are each other's first relationship. We are both college students and are currently on summer break. I am only working one part time job, and he is working 2 part time jobs, taking night classes, and training to be a firefighter as well. Obviously, he is really stressed, and I feel like it is starting to impact our relationship. Earlier today, we were having a nice date together and it was going perfectly fine until we got back to my house. We had made plans for later in the week to see each other but had nothing set and stone. When we got back to my house, I got a text from my manager to work on the day we planned to hang out. My shift will end at 5, so I asked him if it was fine for us to hang out after my shift since I never get scheduled and I need the money. He told me no, nothing will be open, there will be nothing for us to do, and that he will be tired anyways because his shift at one of his jobs ended at 2. I had thought this was a bit odd but ignored it and we went and hung out in my room. He was being quiet the whole time, not reciprocating any affection I was trying to show him, wouldn't even entertain me when I was trying to cheer him up, and swatting my hand away when I tried to tickle him (we tickle each other all the time, more him tickling me than me tickling him). Eventually he left my house, and I had other things to do. He texted me when he got home saying that he was sorry and that he is stressed and that he still wants to see me. I forgave him, talked to my mom about it, and she said that he was probably having an off day. But these off days are becoming more normal than I would like.
Last week we had a date together and it was great until we got to his house to hang out at after. He fell asleep immediately with his back to me and not even touching me. I felt invisible, ignored, and a bit upset so I started to gather my stuff to leave. Something that I think is important to take note of is that I just started birth control pills, and it has been making me a bit more reactive and sensitive than normal. He did not want me to leave his house in that state because I was on the verge of tears. I told him how I felt ignored and he kept apologizing and beating himself up over it and I told him it was okay. I left, started sobbing immediately, he went inside and also started sobbing. I had to pull over into a local park and cry because I was in no state to drive properly. I called him 6 times and left voicemails while I was crying but he never picked up because he was also sobbing. I left the park I was in after about 20 minutes and he called me while I was driving but I did not pick up, he called me again when I got home (we have each other's locations on) and cried on call together. He, again, told me that it was because he is so stressed.
I don't know what to do, I want to be more accommodating to the amount of stress he is under, but I hate the way that he is making me feel because of it. I want to be a good girlfriend and help him as much as I can, but I feel that I've been crying and getting upset every time I see him. I have let him know many times that I want to be a rock for him, I want to listen to him, and do anything I can to alleviate any stress in any way I can. Does anyone have any advice on what to do?

My parents are probably happy I'm the rare person that actually focused on my education and didn't go out partying and shit (tho that's more due to circumstances and not choice), but I imagine the pressure of finding someone's gonna ramp up eventually and I'd rather get ahead on that.
So if anyone can just give me some basic advice on where to meet people please help. Both for platonic reasons and not. I know bars are a thing just based off movies but I'm not much of a drinker. I can stomach it if that's the only place but I imagine people are hanging out outside bars in real life. I just don't know where. Also naturally have zero dating experience. I just don't know where people hang out or really how to establish relationships both platonic and romantic. I can maintain a friendship fine. I got friends. I just don't know how to start one. These people just found me and I managed to not scare them off.
To give you some background on I've just always been solitary given most of my hobbies (playing guitar, drawing, movies/books/games) are stuff you do alone in a room. I also never hung out much with people outside school cause I lived pretty far from everyone in school. I got into this nerd school thing (I'm honestly not sure what it's called cause it wasn't private) in case you're wondering what the circumstances are where I lived far away from everyone else. So even though I wanted to and people wanted to hang with me, I never really had much opportunity to since I always had stuff right after class and shit was too far to really meet em over weekends. And even in the very rare cases I was able to visit friends or they were able to visit me, these people are naturally gonna be pretty similar to me so we just did the same shit I'd do alone just with other people in the room. I figured stuff would change in college but for financial reasons I went to community college, and the one I went to was very much a "finish your classes and leave" kind of deal. Most people there weren't even around my age. So I ain't really meet people and I couldn't hang out with my friends and meet people through them cause they went out of state. Got a job but at a Thai restaurant but they ended up putting me in the back where nobody I interacted with regularly spoke English. After that I transferred to a state college and here I thought "finally, now's my chance to have a normal social life and hang out with people", but of course God had a really funny sense of humor cause right before I graduated from county the pandemic happened. The universe saw I had a chance at having a social life and through divine intervention prevented that from happening. So I basically just spend the last to years of my college online. Last year was hybrid so I went out a little but going to a tech school turns out everyone there is also pretty much isolated nerds. My roommate didn't even leave his room.
