Before Munnabhai and Circuit, there were Amar and Mansi. Born to the filmmaker Basu Bhattacharya in 1971’s Anubhav, brought up in Aavishkar (1974) and grown up in Griha Pravesh (1979), they completed a trilogy connected not only by their names but also by the cord of marital discord. There were treatment similarities as well.
The Modern Traditional Set Up
The Amar-Mansi films are set in the modern society but place their characters in traditional roles. The family’s nuclear, the man is the breadwinner and the woman is the homemaker. The city is the urban jungle where the hunter and the gatherer reside and are alone together.
Anubhav begins with the house full of manservants, but Mansi fires all but one of them. The couple’s child in Griha Pravesh is little more than a junior artist. And when Amar’s friend in Aavishar attends the couple’s forgotten anniversary, his presence in the stressful household feels more like an intervention than a response to an invitation.
While Amar and Mansi live without support systems, it’s not like they are born orphans. But Amar’s bagaavat against his in-laws over Mansi gets reduced to a couple of quick flashbacks in Aavishkar, the ennui of the present having long since replaced the excitement of the past.
The urban loneliness is best represented by the end credits of each film that enlist the very few speaking parts. These are one man-one woman acts.

Much of the action is in the bedroom where attraction is either fading or yet to take shape. Husband and wife exist like long lost friends, too used to but suddenly awkward in each other’s company. Outside, inanimate props draw up the battle lines between them.
The clock in Anubhav ticks oppressively, with a watchful eye. Aavishkar’s name plate, “Ghar Amar Mansi Ka”, demarcate the chaardivari into which the husband enters and where the wife is immured.

The Powerful Professional Conflict
In Aavishkar, Amar goes to see a film with a seemingly willing subordinate; in Griha Pravesh, he is entrusted to share cabin space to keep an entry level employee away from prying eyes. These instances blur boundaries of personal and professional space. The seat of power not only fuels temptations, but in the case of Anubhav, where Amar asks a new employee and Mansi’s old flame to resign, it also becomes a medium to settle scores. Mostly though, we see desire for desire, the pursuit of the illicit, unconsummated affairs and psychological infidelity involving sharing of soul and not the body.

On a superficial level, the films feature the flawed hero and the forgiving heroine, but even though the stories are told from the hero’s corner like others before them, they give us ends where power dynamics change.
By refusing to break down easily and openly in Griha Pravesh, Mansi turns the tables and puts Amar and the other woman in a corner instead. Their budding affair is soon aborted. He comes back to her. But it’s now her house, her terms. Mansi’s largesse here, like her playful obliviousness in Anubhav, is punishing. As for the Amars, they are aware of their unconventional excesses but self-destructive enough to make a play nonetheless. In the end, there’s little seen in them by way of showy remorse, but enough proof of accepted vulnerability to make the new normal work. Despite the couple’s troubles, there’s always food on the table. There’s never any question of sustenance. The Amar-Mansi films are more existential.

There is a lot of controversy going around about the Prana Pratishtha Puja to be conducted at the new Shree Ram Janma Bhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya.
I tried to avoid writing on this controversial issue but there have been many posts regarding this topic in the sub and this issue needs to be clarified. The Ram Janma Bhoomi Mandir is too important and as such misconceptions must be addressed.
Claim 1 -
Many are claiming that conducting the Prana Pratishtha ceremony in an incomplete temple is wrong and that the Agama texts prohibit Prana Pratishtha at a temple where construction is not complete.
Facts -

According to the Agamas, the Manditemple exists around the deity and not the other way around. The kṣetra radiates from the Brahmasthana which is decided upon the Vastu Purusha Sthapana.
According to iconographist and Puranic scholar https://twitter.com/artist_rama, Prana Pratishtha can be done anytime after the Garbha-Griha (Sanctum-sanctorum) is ready. Completion of the entire superstructure is not necessary.
Regarding the completion of the temple, 3 stages are important : Vastupurusha Sthapana, Prana Pratishtha, and Purna Kalasa Samsthapana.
Vastupurusha Sthapana (Square Mandala) is done before the construction of the temple to decide the "Brahmasthana" which is Garbhagriha. This is the core & from here everything radiates.
Once Garbhagriha is ready, Prana Pratishtha can be done anytime before the completion of Shikhara.
Without establishing "Moolavirat ( Main Deity )" or deciding on a spot for him, it is difficult to decide on the "Brahma Randra" in the Shikhara.
Prana Pratishtha ritual is left to the decision of King/Sthapathi/Mantri/Senapati/Vyapari. Rest all construction would take years to decades to even a century based on the magnanimity of the temple. If the Kostha devatas are not established, Nyasa won't happen.
If Prana Pratishtha is done, Moolaviraat will receive Upacharas. If Maha mandapa is complete, then snapana/utsava murtis will come in to picture. Meaning, based on the aspect of the temple, the rituals keep adding up.
Purna Kalasa Samsthapana above the Shikara is done only after the entire main temple is completed. Still, Aspects like Dhwaja, Balipeetham, Gopuram, and Prakaram can be incomplete. Each one of them needs celebration, Muhurtam, and rituals.
In the case of Ram Mandir, the spot for Moolaviraat is marked. GarbhaGriha's Brahma Randra is fixed & sealed & now there is no danger of spoiling to MoolaViraat, all Upacharas can be performed.
Hence, the Prana Pratishtha can be performed.
Also, anyone who has grown up in a small community in India and observed the construction of a Mandir like me knows that it is common for the Prana Pratishtha ritual to be performed before the temple is complete because that sometimes takes years, if not decades.
There are many examples of Prana Pratishtha being performed in an incomplete temple throughout history.

Examples : Rajarajeswaram temple built by Rajaraja Chola. The consecration was done on the 275th day of Rajaraja's 25th regnal year (10th April 1010) as he has done the Prathishta of the 'Stuthupi', according to one inscription. At that time, only the Parivara Ganapathi shrine & the Chandikeswarar shrine were completed. There number of donations made by him for various shrines from his 26th and 27th regnal year. Apart from this, his commander Krishnan Raman built the entire outer wall (Thiruchchutru Malagai) along with the shrines of 'Dig Balakas' till Rajaraja's 29th regnal year. The other shrines as seen in the temple are built later. In fact, the shrine of Periya Nayaki was built during the period of Jatavarma Sundara Pandya. So it is not uncommon to continue with the rest of the construction, even after the consecration of the sanctum is complete.
Most of the rock-cut temples are excavated top down. In that case that part of the temple is built first which is higher, so jagati and adhisthana of the temple emerge later, far after the Vigraha emerges and is consecrated.
Matangeshvara temple, Khajuraho. Here, the Śiva Lingam is much bigger than the temple gates. So, the Vigraha that was consecrated first, and then the temple was built around it. It couldn’t have passed the gates after the temple was built.
Bhaskaresvhara temple in Bhubaneswar. It is a two-storeyed temple with an unusual pidha deula śikhara (usually reserved for mandapas). The Śiva Linga inside is two storeys big. So, the only way that it happened was that they consecrated the Vigraha first and then built the temple around it.
Shri Ulgalanda Perumala temple dedicated to the Trivikrama svaroopa of the deity also houses a Vigraha which is much bigger than the temple gate.
First, they partially built the Garbha-Griha walls except one and then created and consecrated the Vigraha first. And later built the superstructure and the remaining wall.
Many more temples built by the Hoysalas and Chalukyas, which are still living and always were, have parts of their śikhara incomplete. But the Murti/Vigraha has been consecrated and people worship the deity there.
It is easier, according to some, to place the Kalasha above if the Vigraha is already there. And this has happened a lot of times.

Claim 3 -
Why should the Prana Pratishtha be performed on 22nd January 2024 and not on any other day like the Rama Navmi?
Fact -
Multiple factors decide the auspicious time, which might not even come for years. So, it is important to adhere to the Muhurat date and time calculated by the experts as per the Panchang. On 22nd Jan there is a great Muhurat of 84-85 seconds during which the ceremony will be done.
Claim 4 -
PM Narendra Modi should not perform the Prana Pratishtha as the Yajamana because the presence of both the Husband and the Wife is essential for the KarmaKanda rituals.
Fact -
The Mukhya (Main/Primary) Yajamana of the Prana Pratishtha is VHP President Dr Rabindra Narain Singh who will perform the ceremony along with his wife. PM Narendra Modi will be a part of the ceremony as a Yajamana and he is properly following the Yama Niyama rituals required for the Prana Pratishtha.
Even when PM Narendra Modi performed the Bhoomi Pujan and laid the foundation stone of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on 5 August 2020, he was not the Mukhya (Main/Primary) Yajamana of the ceremony. The Ramanandi sampradaya, also known as the Ramavats sect, is the largest sect of Vaishnavas. Out of 52 gates of Vaishnavism divided into 4 Vaishnava Sampradaya, 36 are held by Ramanandi. They mainly emphasize the worship of Rama, Sita, and Hanuman. They consider Ram and Sita as Supreme Absolute who are non different from each other.
They have the greatest say in matters of the Ram Mandir. The Ramanandi Sampradaya has priority over all other sects in this matter. They have fought for the cause of the Ram Mandir for a long time. If they have no objection to the Prana Pratishtha, we shouldn't either.
Jagadguru Rambhadracharya belongs to the Ramanandi Sampradaya. He is probably the greatest Hindu Scholar alive right now, especially when it comes to Ram. He is a spiritual leader, educator, Sanskrit scholar, polyglot, poet, author, textual commentator, philosopher, composer, singer, playwright, and Katha artist. He is one of four incumbent Jagadguru Ramanandacharya.
Rambhadracharya has been blind since the age of two months, had no formal education until the age of seventeen years, and has never used Braille or any other aid to learn or compose. He is a prodigy. He can speak 22 languages and is a spontaneous poet and writer in Sanskrit and several other languages. He has authored more than 100 books and 50 papers, including four epic poems, Hindi commentaries on Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas, a Sanskrit commentary in verse on the Ashtadhyayi, and Sanskrit commentaries on the Prasthanatrayi scriptures. He is acknowledged for his knowledge in diverse fields including Sanskrit Grammar, Nyaya, and Vedanta. He is regarded as one of the greatest authorities on Tulsidas and is the editor of a critical edition of the Ramcharitmanas.
He was consulted by the Supreme Court of India in the Ram Mandir Judgement. He is a scholar par excellence. If there was a problem with the Prana Pratishtha, he would know it and speak against it.
After a wait and struggle of 492 years, the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple began. After a wait of 497 years, his devotees will finally be able to worship Bhagwan Ram at his birthplace in the proper manner again as they had been worshipping for thousands of years.
This is an example of Hindu resilience and devotion to Lord Ram. They kept the struggle going for 492 years so that they could worship God Ram and Goddess Sita at the holy site. It is an occasion for Hindus across the world to celebrate.

I was in Griha Pravesh (A Ceremony arranged by someone who just bought/built a new home) of my Neighbours new house today. Everything was going well, but suddenly a gang of Transgenders (5 persons) came and demanded ₹10000. Initially my neighbour and his family refused and politely asked them to walk away. The Trans gang then lifted their saree up and showed their PP, and threatened to create a scene. One of them was about to be fully nude, but other people in their gang stopped them. The Neighbour was still reluctant. They also hurled abuses on all of us and shouted so loud that other people from outside came to see what was happening. Later they walked away laughing with ₹7000 given by my neighbour to avoid further tensions and embarrasment.
Fuck them !
When this "Trans Tax" is gonna end? , they shamelessly ask for money in public transports too. They sexually assault persons who don't give them money.

The occasion of Saraswati puja is considered an auspicious time for embarking on new work, wedding ceremonies, griha pravesh, etc. Goddess Saraswati is worshipped by devotees and special blessings are sought in the form of wisdom. As per the Hindu belief system, it was on Vasant Panchami that Maa Sarawati was born. And after forty days, another Hindu festival of Holi is celebrated and the day of Saraswati puja marks its beginning. In South India, people celebrate this day by worshipping Lord Vishnu and goddess Laxmi (also called Shri).Worshipping them brings in a lot of fortune and benefits, especially business owners.. Yellow-colored fruits and sweets are offered to her, and devotees chant the Shri Saraswati Chalisa. Not only do homeowners, and priests, but business owners also carry out all these rituals. One can see this being performed in schools and colleges too.
Goddess Saraswati is worshipped on this day to pray for knowledge and enlightenment. She is worshipped to eliminate the darkness of ignorance. Yellow is the color of this day and people dress in yellow, eat yellow food and home is decorated with yellow flowers. Different states of India have different ways to celebrate this day. In Punjab, people engage in kite flying games and the sky looks beautiful with different colored kites taking the entire sky. This is the day of harvest in Bihar. South Indians offer prayers in temples and homes. Though being celebrated in different ways, this day is ruled by the color yellow. The students of school and college normally do not study on this day and only worship their books and stationery to seek blessing from Maa Saraswati for performing well academically. Certain cultural activities are held in the educational institutes. On this day, even little kids are taught to read and write for the very first time.
Apart from India, this day is celebrated in Bali and Nepal as “Hari Raya Saraswati”. This is one festival that is followed by the Buddhists, Jains, and Sikhs with equal zest and devotion.
