so i have mm+ on steam but this games name is so stupid long that i can only add very few mods, the only one i got working was the one to unlock all chart difficulties (i aint working through them again for a 3rd time). every time i try to add new songs or such i get errors related to file path length, which is due to a character limit. what do i do? id like to be able to play custom charts since ive played this game practically daily for 4 years and am running out of stuff to do

Right now, the games I'm into are: Orcs Must Die 3, Bloons TD6, 7 Days to Die, Tomb Raider, Valorant (but only very occasionally), Marvel Snap, Left4Dead 2, The Forest, Fall Guys, and Phasmophobia. I can probably fit in other games as long as I have the money to buy them :)

Can I do both at the same time? I managed to undervolt my LCD to -40, -40 and -40. Can I at the same time overclock my gpu to 2 ghz and cpu to 4 ghz? They probably won’t ever hit the values with the 15 w tdp, but just wondering?
I know that it can crash the games, because of getting less volts than normally, because of the undervolting I have dond.

Id love to see some Master and Legend time trials on emblems. You could even have one for each area. For example today is on the Dreaming City so it would be cool if you had a dreaming city emblem that tracked that destionations lost sector times. Cool way to keep the lost sectors a thing in the game since Rahool is going to be the new exotic focus for Final Shape.
My friends and I have friendly competitions everyday to see who can get the best times. I got 4 minutes 14 seconds Master Chamber of Light. What's some good times you've gotten in lost sectors if you can remember?

2024.05.14 01:16 jack_skellington Dear Bethesda, I'm perma-quitting Fallout 76, and I want you to know why. You can't win me back, but maybe you can help others.

So I logged out of F76 just now, and I will never log back in. It's over for me. The whole issue is 100% avoidable, though. I want to tell Bethesda why they lost me, and obviously this will give away some ways to keep other players.
First, the minor issues, which I'd solve with a mod in Fallout 4, but which are obnoxiously ever-present in the un-moddable F76:
But all of that was survivable. I've been building for a couple of weeks now, finishing quests (mostly not the Responders, but you know, other quests). Except... 3 days ago, I joined a game and the game couldn't place my camp. Someone else was in my spot. OK, no problem, you gave me a free "relocate your camp" so I will. But... all it brought over was my house and water pump. The gardens? Gone.
Not terrible, I'll rebuild. Over the last 3 days, I rebuilt a lot. My place is not good, I'm still low-level, but I had all the crafting, a vending machine, turrets for protection (which almost never seem to trigger on enemies, by the way), beds, and even got a settler who I met, who just hangs out at my settlement and plays guitar. Great.
And then today, the server locked up or went offline mid-game, and I booted back to the main screen. I had been in build mode at the time. I think that might factor in. When I got back in, it couldn't place my camp, gave me a free relocation, I took it, and when I put down the C.A.M.P. what did I get? It saved ONE ROOF TILE. Literally everything from the last 2 weeks was lost. To rebuild I'd need to get the resources again and re-place everything, new. I logged into a new game to see if it was a quirk, but it wasn't.
Bethesda, losing the items I had placed down today when it froze? Understandable. Losing everything, including the original building from days ago? Even the basic concrete flooring from 2 weeks ago? HOW? How could you lose THAT?
Bethesda, the game isn't good enough to persist with through this kind of mistake. I can forgive those smaller things like the cheery delusional "are we in a post-apoc game? tee hee it doesn't seem like it" theme, but if you're gonna do that AND then lose hours & hours & hours of my effort, WTF am I doing here? I'm not rebuilding, Bethesda. Sorry.
But maybe you can fix that for anyone else who is going to hit that same wall. Good luck.

2024.05.14 01:15 lumell Let's speculate how the unreleased Olympians will work!

Just for fun, why don't we let our imaginations run wild for a bit.
The Boons in Hades 2 operate roll much more narrowly than the ones in Hades 1, forcing you to play differently to get the most out of their benefits. We should expect that when they get added to the game their bonuses will work differently to the first game.
Here's my hat into the ring:

ATHENA

DIVINE STRIKE/FLOURISH: Inflicts Focused for 3 secs. Focused enemies take +(X%) damage. Only one enemy can be Focused at a time, you cannot apply Focused to another enemy until it wears off or the enemy dies.
Single target focused status effect, kind of the opposite of Hitch. Really good in boss fights, bbut also can be good for clearing rooms as long as you take out the enemies methodically.
PHALANX RING: The edge of your Cast Deflects projectiles. Deflected projectiles deal +(X%) damage.
It's a bubble shield! Would be a fun new niche to give to the Cast, I think, and opens up new strategic opportunities.
DIVINE DASH: Your dash Deflects. Deflected projectiles deal +(X%) damage.
The dash is weak enough in Hades 2 that I think you could get away with just bringing the best boon from the first game in and it wouldn't majorly imbalance the game. And why wouldn't you! It's iconic!
WISE GAIN: Evading damage with your Dash restores (X) Magick.
It's basically ruthless reflex but for MP gain instead of giving a damage bonus. Would be a fun way to bring that mechanic back!

ARES

BLOODY STRIKE/FLOURISH: Inflicts Damned. Damned enemies take damage after 2 secs. Reapplying Damned increases damage dealt and resets the timer. Deals a max of (X) damage.
It's Doom 2: Hell on Earth. The encouraged gameplay pattern is to damage the enemy up to the max damnation damage and then switch to something else to let it drop.
SLICE RING: Your Cast advances forward slowly while dealing (X) damage per second.
I feel like blade rifts from Hades 1 would fit well into the new mechanics. This has an interesting side effect in that enemies don't spend as long in the cast, so they won't be slowed down for as long.
VIOLENT SPRINT: Sprinting adds bonus damage to the next hit from your attack or special. Max +(X) damage.
Encourages a kind of hit and run playstyle, building up damage by sprinting it and then unleashing it all at once.
LOST GAIN: Restores (X) Magick when you kill an enemy
Obviously weaker in boss fights than mob rooms, but every boss in the game summons some kind of enemy at some point, so it's not totally useless in those!

DIONYSUS

VINTAGE STRIKE/FLOURISH: Attacks spill Blight Wine on the ground beneath enemies. Blight Wine lasts 4 secs and deals (X) damage per second to foes standing in it.
Good against stationary targets-- if an enemy moves, they'll move out of the Blight Wine pools and you won't get the full damage. Fortunately you can hold enemies in place with your cast. Against bosses you're best off finding openings to land hits while the boss is standing still, and most bosses have long periods when they do.
TRIPPY RING: Enemies in your Cast are Hazy. Hazy enemies deal damage to their allies and have (+X%) friendly fire damage.
Get your enemies so sloshed they start hitting their friends by accident. Would be fun to pop on Chronos when he uses his instant kill.
DRUNKEN SPRINT: Leave occasional pools of Blight Wine behind you when you sprint that deal (X) damage per second.
Good for running away from foes-- they'll walk into the blight wine pools while they give chase. Also generally plays into the the area denial theme of Dionysus boons here.
THIRSTY GAIN: Spill random pools of Blight Wine nearby every 1 sec. Walking over a pool of Blight Wine absorbs it and restores (X) Magick.
Kinda like Aphrodite's Gain Boon in that it relies on that God's mechanic, but also gives you some utility even if you don't have support for it. This one would probably be more reliant on other Dio boons though.
Anyway! I did this mostly for my own amusement, but I encourage you to speculate as well. It's fun!

Always trying to bring new husbando games to the general public. Unfortunately, this time it's a Japanese-only one, but since it's a match 3 game, you can play it as a casual game, maybe?
So, coly inc. (Promise of Wizard, Stand My Heroes) has recently released their new game, Break My Case (ブレイクマイケース). It's a joseimuke game (aimed towards women) where you're working with hot men, basically. I'm sorry, I don't speak Japanese, but from the few chapters I've translated and judging the company's record, I guess the MC is probably a woman -- the only one in the whole game, talk about a male-centric work environment.

THE BOYS (NOT THE AMAZON ONES)

There are divided into 6 departments, and there are SEVERAL boys, like, too many (21 to be exact). There's one for everyone's taste (but ofc, it's Japan, so you know there are no black characters, and since it's a joseimuke, there are no muscly guys as well).
Anybody who knows idol games and other joseimukes (like Twisted Wonderland) might be used to this divide of different units, but this isn't that important. At the beginning of the game you have to choose a character to be awarded with a free SR card of him. This choice isn't really important and you can easily get those SR cards in the gacha (SR cards aren't the highest rarity).
The boys have beautifully done live2D animations in a couple of places, like their profiles, in the gameplay stages and in the story as well.

GAMEPLAY

The game has an interesting twist in the Candy Crush (match 3) formula: it's dynamic, a line will go through the board and you set up the matches as the line goes by. For a couple of rounds (until the song ends, marked by a Youtube-like line advancing at the bottom of the screen), the line will spawn at the beginning of the board (from left to right, but some challenge stages might have the line going around in different directions) and any matches it touches have the whole matching group removed from the board and new tiles are spawned in their places (the board doesn't "fall" like in Candy Crush, so you can't plan that much since it's random which are the next tiles to appear). Any tile that's matched in groups of 3, 4 or 5 (in line or in T-form) are removed from the board, so you can make matches on the go.
A bit of a breakdown about the gameplay mechanics:
  • You can't unite 2 groups (for instance, 2 groups of 3 in the same line don't make a group of 6, each move only results in one group of matching tiles).
  • If new tiles come up and you can match them in a group, they'll still be removed if the "walking line" barely touches any of the matching tiles (this makes the gameplay very frenetic and dynamic).
  • Once you move a tile and make a matching group, those tiles are locked until they're removed by the moving line.
  • Groups of 4 or 5 form a musical note tile (a single one with 4 matched, double if matched in T, and triple if matched in a line of 5), which is removed by the "walking line" to power up an ultimate skill that varies from each card and to raise the combo (more combos, more bonuses and items at the end of the level).
  • Other skills are present for each boy you bring to the level (you can bring 4 boys for each level --one of them being the leader with a leader advantage/skill--, and a support from friends or random people that'll help you with a boost).
It's one of those games with low stamina limits that only consume 1 stamina per stage. At the start, it's pretty okay, but I can see it being too little in the long run. You can stack up to 3 runs and you can skip stages once for every boy (in the daily grind section, so up to 21 times daily).

GACHA AND MONETIZATION

Gacha is what you expect from joseimukes: pretty greedy, but with hald decent rates at least. Some stuff to consider:
  • Cards have R, SR and SSR rarities.
  • Pity is 3% for SSR, 17% for SR and 80% for R cards.
  • There's at least one SR card guaranteed in each 10 pulls.
  • There's no pity for SSR cards, but there's a 200 pulls spark (through the shop).
  • There's 50/50 in limited banners (oh wow, I'm surprised).
  • There's no written indication of warranty on getting the featured card in your next SSR pull if you lose 50/50.
About the monetization, 10 pulls cost 500 gems, and there are no packs that sell that exact amount (an old trick so you always have gems left and you have to get more).485 gems cost 2.9k yen, and 870 gems cost 4.9k, for reference. There are discounted packs, though (limited time, of course, of course).
Oh, there are 2 pulling currencies: free and paid one. Atm, I can only see a special banner using paid currency (10 pulls guarantee a random SSR), and there's a discounted pull everyday using only 10 paid gems instead of 50). Max level of the cards are heavily reliant on dupes (5 more levels for each dupe, 1 + 4 dupes required). SSR has a max level of 60, SR max level is 45 and R is 30 (no dupes, add 20 for the max level with 4 dupes)
Generosity-wise, the game seems to be extremely stingy, with no events so far, and the game will rely only on events if there's any. For now, stages only offer 5 or 10 gems each, and story is level-locked. At least the starter events give a good amount of rewards, and you get a bit more than 30 pulls worthy of gems just for starting the game and an SSR ticket to play the gacha (random card). There was also a special b-day reward for one of the boys, and the 2nd day prize was 5 gacha tickets, but that reward was only available yesterday.
I'll leave some card images from now on just to make the article more pleasing to the eyes. SSR card.

MORE CONSIDERATIONS

I'm sorry, but like I said, I can't talk about the story and the lore too much. I've only read 3 or 4 chapters and it was pretty corporative-esque, I don't enjoy the theme at all, but I've been playing for 3 days now only because of the fun gameplay.
The game doesn't need a VPN to access and you can download it and play instantaneously through Qooapp or Taptap (links at the end). It also has a quality I don't often see in Japanese gachas: the UI is clean and minimalistic, and there isn't a lot of loading screens (although I've had a few disconnections, probably due to the distance I am from the main server in Japan). The live2D looks and feels modern and really fluid, and the songs are pretty cool (and a nice touch to integrate the new gimmicks to the old match 3 formula).
If you want to actually play the game and not be like me (super casual), a Twitter fan (@ aporia_eng) is translating stuff for the game, mainly new announcements and info on the characters (link at the end).
SSR card (birthday special)

FINAL THOUGHTS

Lack of English language aside, the game might be a good choice for husbando fans seeking for a new and interesting option. If you like a good story, you probably are beter with Tokyo Debunker (despite all the AI stuff and the cashgrab aspects), but if you want a different gameplay vibe, this game is accessible for anybody who've played any other Candy Crush-like game (and enjoys the genre).
It's a solid 7/10 game but probably a cheap thrill for those who don't speak Japanese and aren't really into the corporative theme.
I can only hope the game comes to global, it deserves to be a moderate success in Japan. But if you've reached this point also hoping about an English release, I'm sorry to crush your dreams, but coly inc. isn't known for localizing their games :(
SR card

TL;DR

**Pros:**
  • Interesting gameplay;
  • Adds a twist to the match 3 (Candy Crush) genre;
  • High quality: live2D, great UI, few loading screens;
  • Generous starter rewards;
  • No geoblock.
**Cons:**
  • Japanese only;
  • Theme might be too niche;
  • Apparently greedy in the long run (too early too judge, but it is what it is);
  • Dupes make a HUGE difference (it raises the max level, like Nikke).

2024.05.14 01:14 AbsoluteRook1e PSA: Please communicate with your teammate before deciding to resign in team games.

I just played five matches today where my team has refused to communicate. I even say at the beginning of the game: "Hey, if you need help, don't be afraid to communicate." Proceed to me having an army of 30-60 archers, or 35 knights, and suddenly they just throw their arms up in the air and resign. Just WHYYYY?
I'm dropping significant elo in team games because of this, and it's not fair to your ally who could very well help you out.
Probably 4 out of 5 of those games played today, my team could have easily won.
And also, if you're very new to the game, stick to 1v1 until you get build orders down. You'll likely be rushed less when you're matched up against someone your skill level (unless you're already really good).

2024.05.14 01:14 LobsterOK1199 Declined to have kids on Mother’s Day

My ex and I are officially divorced after a state imposed year-long waiting period. We have two kids , 4 and 6. Our divorce is high-conflict he enjoys hurting me by using the kids to exert control, and makes my life hell by making everything having to do with the kids that requires communication extremely difficult. He insists he is informed about everything, but does not participate in any important conversations (ignores me, doesn’t answer the actual question, tells me to just do what I want) I offer regarding our children and scheduling sports/camps, schooling or medical appointments/care.
He causes scenes bailing on sporting events early or showing up late… why come at all? The kids get upset. Never misses an opportunity to make a scene and make everything about him.
Recently our son was expelled from pre-k mid semester and one month from graduation, 4 mos out from him starting kindergarten. He definitely has some ADHD, but honestly it was a bad match When he got a new teacher in late winter. Have had problems since. His mother and stepdad are the only family that live in the state. He doesn’t even reach out to his mom for care, he doesn’t make a single phone call to other programs, he doesn’t want to participate in taking him to the doctor for assessment or to look into behavioral therapy. Everything was on me. I reached out for help, I reached out about what he wanted to do about treating him if anything, he just left me totally alone to do everything. By some miracle I get a spot in a nice program like 3 weeks into him being at pretty low scoring schools with no routine and shit care. Ex argues doesn’t want to switch him bc he’ll have to serve breakfast and send him with food on his days, as this particular place does not have a kitchen. I ask to speak about why this was the best decision for our son and how I can maybe help with breakfast and lunches before work, I’m ignored. I enroll him anyway.
Just some of the most recent examples and these are tame. He’s always like this when he has a new flavor of the month.
Last Mother’s Day he took the kids to the beach and returned them to me at noon on Sunday. As they are walking in the door, my son projectile vomits on the door mat. I ask, he’s been sick all day, didn’t bother to tell me he was puking all day so I could at least prepare with Gatorade and BRAT foods. I decide next year if it’s his weekend I’m not doing it.
I discuss this with him a week in advance to let him know this year I would not be taking the kids since it is not my weekend. I figure I can get a little peace from his chaos. He lets me know he thinks I’m “mother of the year material,” and that “he hopes I enjoy the dick I’m choosing over my children.” I don’t date because he’s a psychopath AND because I just don’t want to. I’m happy alone right now.
I see the kids Saturday morning at my son’s game, and then late Saturday afternoon at my daughter’s game. I coach her team because they were desperate for a volunteer and it’s a sport I played my whole life. I’ve enjoyed it. I carry my son on my back while I move around the field positioning the players and helping them play by the rules. Afterwards, they give me their school Mother’s Day crafts at the picnic area after the game we have cupcakes and juice I brought. Everyone has been notified that I will not see them Sunday.
Sunday, I do my normal fitness routine on weekends which is long and enjoyable, I go to lay at the pool with a girlfriend. I get a call from ex, assume it’s the kids wanting to say happy Mother’s Day, so I pick up. He informs me they want to see me and asks when he can drop them off. I reference previous discussions and tell him no. I offer to meet them with him for a meal, he declines because he “has no interest in celebrating me,” and “it’s not his job.” I say OK, he states, “mommy doesn’t want to see you,” to the kids so I can hear it and hangs up on me.
I feel like even if I wasn’t just trying to protect myself from him, that I deserve to have one day completely off this week, and he could have supported that. I have no family here. I don’t want to orchestrate my own mother’s days with two small children on my weekend off after attending sports all day Saturday. If he wanted to do it for the kids he would have accepted meeting for a meal and not talked badly about me to the kids.
He said I’m selfish and he can’t believe I wouldn’t want to celebrate with my children, among other much meaner things.
This morning I find out through his message to my son’s teacher that my son again had a stomach virus and was up all night puking.

2024.05.14 01:13 hgwells49 Are either of these offseason scenarios realistic?

Just spitballing here and I'm not sure if these scenarios are realistic as I'm not too well-versed on salary and trade restrictions, and intricacies. Both of these scenarios tie into the draft and how are selections end up shaking out
Scenario 1:
One or more of the talented wing prospects fall to 12 in the lottery. I think of a few names here - Ron Holland, Cody Williams, Stephon Castle, Matas Buzelis. All would fit well in the kings lineup as they offer some combo of length, defense, shotmaking, athleticism, and creation ability. Kings draft said player and trade for someone in the mold of Jeremi Grant or Bobby Portis to fill the pressing need for a stretch 4 who can also provide defense and toughness. Now I'm not sure who Kings trade for said player but I do believe a combination of Barnes, Huerter, Davion, 2024 SRP would be on the table. Also I know they can't trade future firsts in this scenario.
Projected Starting Lineup: Fox/Holland/Murray/Portis/Sabonis (Interchangeable)
Scenario 2:
Kings trade back in the draft to acquire two picks (one likely in the late teens and one likely in the early twenties). They use one of those picks to draft a player that may not necessarily have the same star upside as some mentioned in scenario 1, but they fit a pressing need and are more in the mold of a "ready now" player. Two that come to mind are Tristan Da Silva and DaRon Holmes. Now they take the second of those picks they received by trading down and package with Huerter, Barnes, 2024 SRP, potentially Davion for Brandon Ingram. I know some may consider this lowballing - some may say its fair. Ingram, however, has one year left on his contract and has averaged 57 games played in the last 5 seasons. Because of the availability I'd argue it's somewhat of a risk, but I believe the kings need to make a swing move like this to contend.
Projected Starting Lineup: Fox/Ingram/Murray/Holmes/Sabonis (interchangeable)
Another thing to note both of these scenarios would give the kings a lot more size, without really sacrificing spacing. Which the lack of size has plagued the kings forever - tired of smallball personally.

2024.05.14 01:12 Witty-Occasion2424 is this friendship really saveable?

me and my friend have been going through a rough patch lately. and it’s mainly my fault. i’ve just started slightly ghosting him because of how he acted. my friend would make fun of things about me that im kind of insecure about. he doesn’t know im insecure about it because i don’t like telling super personal things about my self. now i understand friends can make jokes like these and i understand because ive had other friends who acted the same but it never hurt. the difference though is that they would do it but not often maybe like 1-3 times a week. but he would do it about 4-5 times a day and that’s just what i can remember. of course i would try defending my self but there was nothing i could say to him because he was just better than me in every way. not only this but like i said before since he was better than me at everything including the only thing i was good at, which would be video games, he would often make little jokes about my skill. we had started a new game with our other friend and he was just so much better than me. when the season ended he started off at a pretty high rank but i was stuck at the bottom. it took me a couple seasons to reach the rank where he started and he would hold this over my head.
eventually i got tired of hearing this because it made me feel pathetic but i never told them to stop because i haven’t been good at expressing my feelings to people. i developed a deep hatred for him and it felt sickening to talk to him so i stopped talking to him for like. week or two. and i know this sounds petty but since i hated him, seeing him like and repost videos about things i liked made my anger worse. especially considering the fact he would say those things are mid and aren’t good.
despite all this i couldn’t let him go. i kind of looked up to him and he was my only friend i couldn’t just let him go. so i tried to fix things. i talked about how i felt and he did say he would try to change. he said he felt bad about saying those things ( which threw me off because of it made you feel bad why would you continue to say it knowing it was bad) but he never apologized. this whole situation reminded me of when his ex broke up with and it just made me remember some things she said about his behavior that made me question if he will actually change. he said he needs a while to change which made me curious because it shouldn’t take long to change behavior. i had done things similar to what he had done and it took only a couple weeks to change but i understand everyone is different and im willing to wait for him to change because it’s kind of embarrassing to admit but i really care for him. im just curious if things will actually work out or should i just give up now.
( sorry for any typos or things that don’t make sense i will be sure to read over it and correct it later )
