Hello there, i'll describe my user patterns ...
I tend to upgrade/replace with 5yrs + intervals (i only got the i3 because my Phenom II X6 1055T's motherboard died on me); i do not overclock, i will undervolt if it is feasible, i would prefer a 8 core CPU if possible over a 6 core, but i'm not flexible on this.
I don't game any AAA titles, i play some very old titles that would work even on I3's internal graphics (isometric rpg's), more modern titles are WoT and EVE, but even those do not use that much CPU/graphics (and i am toning all of that down anyway, haven't logged into WoT in almost 2months). I do however go overboard on multitasking, keeping things open; 100+ browser tabs + 1-2 VM's + something playing on old monitor is not unusual for me.
Right now i am on an Y700-17ISK laptop, i7 6700Q, 'only' 16gb of ram, and it feels constricting compared to the desktop. :P
I got into programming (Python), but i don't think 6 or 8 cores matters that much there.
I would also like to get into some video editing in DaVinci Resolve or OpenShot.
Present PC (5yrs ago bought) is a I3 10100, Gigabyte B460 DS3H motherboard, 32GB DDR4 AData 3200MHz (with an older kit of 16gb DDR3000 AData that can be added), RX 570 4GB, and Thermalright 550W PSU, AData S11 Gammix 512GB SSD.
I am looking into replacing CPU+mobo, which will go into my mom's office PC (a 12yr old FM1 CPU right now), which uses the exact same PSU.
Future upgrades might be a better graphics card (probably something in the price range of 200 Euros), like a not so lengthy RX 6600/7600 (or whatever will be out in 2-3yrs) + NVMe PCIe Gen 4 SSD in the 1-2TB range (this one in 5-6 months probably) + 4K monitor, probably a 60Hz IPS one (as soon as possible).
The best retailer in my country is EMAG, pretty much they give the longest time to return (30d vs 14d), and i never had issues with warranties with them.
CPU's available are these, but not all are sold by them; i am inclining towards a 8 core 5700 or 5800 series.
5700G looks interesting but seems limited to PCIe gen 3, the 5700 basic model is sold and delivered by the company in question, as is the 5800X model.
5700 seems fine for the PSU, but 5800X might be dicey, i might need a PSU upgrade as well.
mobo's is where things get a bit ... weird; i would like to continue with Gigabyte but i heard a lot about them overvolting AM4 cpus, they did the same in the days of Socket A (and i really disliked that).
This is the list of mobo's available in my coutry, i have paid close attention to stuff like VRM, connectivity,
So options might be Gigabyte B550 AORUS Elite V2, Gigabyte Elite B550 AX V2 (VRM is 12+2) MSI B450 Gaming Plus max, MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk, etc ...
CPU cooler, only air; i've been looking over Scythe Cooler list, i am thinking of the Kotetsu Mark 2 rev B.
Right now i am leaning towards Ryzen 7 5700 + MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk / Gigabyte Elite B550 AX V2 (heard a lot of good about the Tomahawk series), and if not that cooler, then something in that price range as well.

I've had my current PC for around 4 years or so (I have bought and upgraded my GPU and PSU) but I'm beginning to want to get more serious about gaming and also production work (editing, animating, motion graphics, 3D modeling and rendering)
Here's a list of all my current computer parts: GPU: Radeon RX 6600 XT Sapphire Pulse CPU: Intel i7-8700 (non-k) CPU Cooler: Stock intel cooler (yeah, lord have mercy) Motherboard: ASUS PRIME H310M-A R2.0 Case: Literally some crappy plastic one with no branding on it (case fans stopped working) PSU: Corsair RM750 (I'm not 100% sure on this, but it's either the 650/750/850 variant, haven't checked in a long time) RAM: 1x 16G G.Skill 2666mhz and 1x 16G A-DATA 2666mhz (yeah.. not proud of this either) Monitor: MSI Optix MAG241C (1080p 144hz, I want to eventually upgrade to 1440p 240hz)
And here are the parts that I have found and am planning to purchase (totals up to around 800 euro, which is my budget, max I could go over is 50 euro):

I have an application where I'm protecting the input of a 12VDC power inverter (Victron Phoenix 12/1200) using a Carling 100A hydraulic-magnetic circuit breaker. Breaker model is CA1-X0-13-184-311-C, which is Carling's "34" trip curve, DC-50/60Hz medium." The breaker trips at 85A DC when measured using a Fluke 87V with a hall effect current clamp, which is the same DC current reading as reported by a Victron SmartShunt in the same circuit. Thinking the breaker was bad, I replaced it twice using product from two different retailers with the exact same results. So, I took a closer look at the current waveform with a scope, and found that although the RMS/DC current value was well below the breaker's trip rating, the current waveform was sinusoidal, with a peak of 150A, well above the breaker's trip rating.
Can someone here with either specific knowledge on these hydraulic-magnetic breakers or some good physics/emag skills help me with these questions?
-Why is the breaker tripping at an RMS current value lower than the breaker's trip rating? -This breaker has DC and 50/60Hz AC delay rating. Will switching this breaker out for one with a DC-only delay rating help me here? -Would changing to a longer delay rating (increased hydraulic fluid viscosity inside the mechanism) help here?

I am remixing an STL file for 3D printing and I can’t seem to fill the hole with the same geometry as the shape. I’ve tried gap fill and hitting Alt-F. Nothing is giving me the result. Hi. I'm planning to buy an Anker Charger, specifically Anker 737 GaNPrime 120W (Link), but I have a question before buying it. In the description it says that is has PowerIQ 4.0 which dynamically adjusts power on ports and it has the IQ4 logo on the charger under the second USB C port.
My question is, does the PowerIQ apply to all ports, including the USB A port, or just that specific USB C port?
I've looked over other models from Anker, and some of them have multiple IQ logos near the ports so I guess for those models the IQ applies only for those specific ports

I have dimension restrictions due to the placement of the pc, W x H x D mm 240 x 350 x 450. Would appreciate if the case is a tiny bit smaller than those dimensions especially the height so the pc can breathe a bit. Also it gets up to 38°C here in the summer and I hate AC (I almost never use it) so I’m worried about cooling since the pc will be used for gaming 5-6 hours daily. A good cool case would be needed. I’d also like the build to be quiet. I don’t care about aesthetics.
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
I’d like to have Windows 11, but the issue is that I don’t want to pay for only 1 use of it because if I need to do a clean OS install in the future I don’t want to pay for it again if that makes sense. I’ll have to look into how this work.
Extra info or particulars:
No AIO, I’m extremely afraid of leaks. Please suggest me a good case, CPU cooler and case fans that can keep everything cool when it’s hot outside and that are also quiet. And tell me how many case fans I should get (I was thinking 5, but I have no idea). I know some cases come with 2 fans, but are they good/quiet enough? It’s also my first time building a pc so I’m quiet scared to be honest. Do you think I should get a separate thermal paste kit or will the paste that usually comes with the CPU cooler be good enough? Hi. I am looking to buy an AGD Emag (not interested in private label ones like SFT or eclipse etc. just the stock/original AGD models).
I am ok with any feedneck style although I prefer vertical feed.
I am also ok with either body type (regular or ULE) although I prefer ULE.
I also prefer the early humpback lowers, but again I’m not rigid on that point.
So in short, I prefer a vertical feed ULE body Emag (preferably with humpback lowers) - this is what I’ll pay the most for- but I’ll take any AGD model Emag, for which I’m willing to still pay handsomely.
Bonus- I’ll pay even more extra for a ULE vert feed Emag that has tequila/tequila sunrise anno (I know it’s VERY rare, I might as well ask tho)

Note: I’m an absolute beginner and I have no knowledge in AI Image Generation and coding
I’ve always been attracted to AI image generation and few months ago I tried to make Stable Diffusion run on my mac but I failed. I don’t know why it didn’t work and since I have no knowledge in this field I just gave up.
Not until today when I heard for the first about Fooocus and I got interested.
I said “why not trying?”
So I sat down and I started to see how that could work on my M1 Mac. It turned out it works perfectly, I just had to download Apple’s Accelerated PyTorch training on Mac and Anaconda I was ready to install Fooocus.
Then I went on GitHub and followed step by step all the instructions just by copying and pasting the code in the terminal and it worked perfectly
Once everything was set it opened the GUI on safari and I was good to go
I’ve made a few test to see how it works and… Wow.
I tried the standard quality version but since it was taking so long I thought it was stuck, then I realized my M1 mac is not powerful enough and it was working, slowly but it was working.
I then made a try with the “Speed” version, it took around 8 minutes and the result was ok (I forgot to download it 🥲)
I wanted to see how good the “quality” version was at the cost of leaving the mac working all night long.
I rebooted it (to have a fresh start), I cleared it using Clean My Mac and I launched Fooocus again.
I wrote the same exact prompt I used the first time: “a cat sitting on a table” Easy as that.
I set amphetamine to not switch off my mac and I put it to work
After almost 1 hour it was at 75% of the first image (step 44/60)
And after 1 hour and 18 minutes it finally finished generating my cat sitting on a table and while the wait has been long I can definitely say it was worth it.
Ok, is not feasible to wait more than 1 hour to generate 1 image but the result is crazy good and I can’t imagine if I had just a bit of knowledge what crazy result I could have been able to achieve with this.
I’m super happy with the results, I’m super happy that it worked, I probably won’t use it unless I find myself in some super specific situations where I would need that quality of image. I’m certain this works like a charm for people who has a powerful graphic card and I’m honestly curious to see how this would work on a mac powered by the M3 Max…
And so this was my experience with AI Image Generation on Mac. Hope you liked it
