The story of Eiyuden is OK for me, it's tempered because of the E10+ rating and was only kind of good when Kenan betrayed us (but then it ended up being anticlimactic). During the whole story, it felt like nothing was at stakes (we could freely go around occupied towns, Seign despite being a traitor could walk around Ardinale like it was nothing. Meanwhile, in Suikoden III, we had Chris Lightfellow changing her appearance because it would not make sense if she could walk freely around the Grasslands after burning the Karaya Village to the ground. In Suikoden V, the Prince, Lyon, Sialeeds had to disguise himself from time to time, otherwise the enemy would recognise him).
So here's how I would change some of the story:

1. Make Lian less annoying
2. Put more interactions with the Watch. Maybe do 1 small mission (which also functions as a kind of tutorial) before meeting Seign. In this mission we should see more bonding between the members.
3. After discovering the Primal Lens, maybe do 1 more mission with Seign that can further strengthen the friendship between Nowa and Seign. Maybe bringing the Primal Lens to the Dux in Ardinale, and then we start seeing that he's an unsettling character (like when we first met Marscal and Gizel in Stormfist)
4. After the six months jump, do a mission where Nowa saves Garr's life or smthg (maybe Garr being held hostage by Hurstwine or something so that he can take the blame for the purported attacks on Galdean border), so that it makes sense that he then becomes the captain of the Watch.
5. In Kyshiri, start by having a feast between Nowa and the villagers and Aunt Martha to see how nice people they are. And then when the attack came, burn the village to the ground, have some villagers being slaughtered and Aunt Martha killed. We need to see more rage from Nowa, and maybe Nowa crying after. Seign rescuing the villagers so that none of them died is really out of place here, it's better to have more drama and make us feel bad that these good people were slaughtered. This also gives us more tension with Leene, we don't really know where she is (instead of Aunt Martha saying she is on adventure), and we can have cutscenes of Nowa worrying and Mio and Lian trying to console him.
6. Eltisweiss war: explain how the Galdeans suddenly appeared out of the mountains and occupied Werne.
7. Sneaking into Werne: have Nowa meet Seign to have a dramatic cutscene, and then Hildi seeing them and sounding the alarm. Maybe one of the members of the Watch can stay to hold the enemies and be arrested to add more drama.
8. I didn't really get how there's suddenly an abandoned castle connected to the abandoned mines. Maybe when we sneaked there and saw Kogen etc, we could have more scenes exploring how they found the castle, how they have been living there, etc.
9. Siege of Eltisweiss: Perrielle being let go is not so outlandish, but it really removes the tension and it felt like nothing was at stakes. It would be better if she was under house arrest in her manor, and later we have to rescue her.
10. I don't like how we can freely walk around Eltisweiss to play Beigoma with Reid and Dr. Corque. Also didn't Seign destroy the gate in the war, but suddenly the gate was left intact?
11. Seign's defection was too fast, the infiltration to the laboratory should have been before the defection. It will make more sense that way. Also it may be a good Pahn moment to have one of them (maybe Hildi) not defecting immediately, but only later after some convincing. Also Seign's defection should have led him to being forced to fight his father in battle, that would have been really interesting + Teo moment.
12. The chimaeras in the laboratory could have been made of the corpses of the people of Grum County being deformed by the Primal Lens, so not just those adept in lens magic. That could also explain the Dux's war: to get human sacrifices. This will really raise the stakes of losing, and makes Perrielle's confrontational approach more questionable: she indirectly brought her people's demise by being so oppositional to the Dux. This can also be used to explain Valmaurice's betrayal: the Dux promised him League lands that can be resettled by dragonewts.
13. Invasion of Hishahn: explain how the imperial army can cross mountains without logistic problems.
14. The attack on Yarnaan was kind of random also, why?
15. I will end here because it's getting too long, but I would certainly not make things anticlimatic right after we were in such a desperate situation after Athrabalt. I also wonder how those sharks could bring those ships through the mountains to reach the great seas...

It's such a shame that the story could have been amazing, but it has been tempered to have a more lighthearted feeling + be more accessible for more people. I guess we'll see if this decision is more justified from a financial perspective.

Recently, my ex-girlfriend and I had been arguing for a while, but it came to a boiling point when she went through my phone and believed (mistakenly) that I had been cheating on her, and saw that a known drug-dealer had texted me. In public, she began throwing things and hitting me, to which multiple people (apparently 8 separate calls were made) called the police. We are both under 21, but above 18. This occurred in Mecklenburg county, NC.
Ultimately, she was arrested for domestic violence and we obviously no longer have any contact. I had no idea what she told the police, but I told the truth, but stressed I didn't want to press charges (although I know that's not how that works). We both go to the same small university which I assume is difficult for BOTH me and her, and to be honest, I'm still a little in shock.
Tonight, I read the arrest summary that was available online. I am concerned because the description read that "[she] did slap [me] due to her becoming upset over a verbal argument that had started over [me] cheating on her and texting his drug dealer." Should I be concerned about an investigation opening or the possibility of me facing legal action?
Here are some other possibly relevant information, although I apologize for the already lengthy post and lack of legal knowledge.

• The drug dealer did text me, but I had intentionally not responded as I decided to try to get sober again, and to go NA. However, there were previous transactions made with him in the past.
• I heard from a mutual friend that she took a pre-trial thing to avoid paying a $5000 bond, and I believe her trial is set for later this summer.
• I do not know how she feels about me now. I do not know if she hates me or what she said.
• I'm not well versed at all legally or criminally, and I'm not sure how the interview/trial/court process will work for her.

As many of you pointed out in your comments, my experience with the Fairfax County Police was incredibly frustrating and ultimately unhelpful. When I tried to follow up on the online report I initially filed, I discovered it had mysteriously vanished from their system. Seeking answers, I called the after-hours dispatch, only to be shuffled between multiple stations. I was transferred from Reston to Mason, and then in person, from Mason to McLean, chasing a paper trail that seemed to lead nowhere.
By the time I reached McLean station at 11 PM last Wednesday, I was forced to file a new report because my original one had disappeared into thin air. The officer I spoke with was less than helpful, explaining that it would be "extremely hard" to obtain a warrant since the incident was several days old and no officers were present when it occurred. She then suggested that I should personally obtain a warrant through the court—a daunting task for anyone not familiar with legal procedures. Moreover, she mentioned that even with a warrant, the best they could do was possibly arrest the individual if he happened to be stopped for a traffic violation in the future.
I couldn't help but argue. Given the evidence and information I had painstakingly gathered, it seemed absurd that issuing a warrant should be so difficult. I expressed my concerns that the individual in question could be a repeat offender, posing a continuous threat. Yet, it felt like hitting a brick wall, with little to no proactive support from those who were supposed to ensure our safety and uphold justice.
My frustration only mounted as the officer initially refused even to perform a basic tag search on the vehicle involved, claiming there was "not enough evidence" despite the clear video and picture evidence I provided. I was dumbfounded—what more did they need? After much insistence and heated discussion, the officer reluctantly agreed to attempt to obtain the warrant herself. However, her non-committal attitude left me with little confidence that any action would actually be taken.
The lack of urgency and apparent indifference to a situation that posed a potential ongoing threat was disheartening. As I left the station, the uncertainty gnawed at me—had I done enough? Could I expect justice, or was my effort doomed with this lazy police officer? The whole ordeal left me feeling helpless and dismissed by those entrusted to protect and serve.
Despite the roadblocks thrown up by the local police, I knew I had done the right thing by reporting the incident. It was crucial, especially if this person was repeatedly keying strangers' cars in Fairfax County. Just know that your police don’t give a shit. But you and I do! However, the reality that I might be unable to bring this criminal to justice due to a lack of police action left me feeling disheartened and powerless.
Nevertheless, I am immensely grateful for the support and advice from fellow Redditors. Your tips were instrumental in identifying the offender, providing a small measure of solace amidst the frustrating ordeal. This experience has been a vivid illustration of the power of community and the often-underrated form of 'internet justice.' I just read a news article where homes in Elkhorn, Nebraska fell victim to looters. Talk about kicking people when they’re down, then you got people taking advantage of exposed homes to… idk, to keep fueling their meth addiction.

so I'm taking a plea in SF county and I'm on probation in the next county over already. My lawyer said taking the deal will violate my probation there but I didn't check in last month anyways and she's signing the petition to revoke my shit today and violating me anyways. I just did 6 weeks on a violation a month ago and the judge told me if I violate again she's going toac me out. so I'm fucked at this point and can't a avoid jail unfortunately. My question is if I go to Nevada wherey mom lives if I end up having police contact there will they arreste and extradite me.back to the Bay over a felony probation violation?

I grew up in a rural hilly area where there weren't many kids around, but across the road (not a street, this was country), lived Wesley, who was my age. We were playmates by default. His house was up the hill; my house was down the hill. Our front porches faced each other. We rode the school bus together. My great-aunt babysat us both. He was my first "friend" outside of my brother.
In kindergarten, my aunt was babysitting us when my older male cousins begin making fun of Wesley, telling him I was his girlfriend. They dared him to kiss me, and he was eager to prove he was cool. So the boy cousins helped him push me into a closet with him, and Wesley used the giant rubber tarantula toy I was afraid of to force me into kissing him. I cried so hard. My whole family called him my "boyfriend" through elementary school.
Wesley didn't grow up with much hope, and by high school he had a baby, a drug problem, and an arrest record. Still, I cared about him. When you grow up in the middle of nowhere with very few kids, you feel protective of them, even if they haven't always protected you.
I left home at 18 -- went to college and never came back. Wesley did more drugs, more crimes. He was arrested in connection with several murders, including a neighbor and a toddler. He was in and out of prison constantly. He cooked meth in the barn and beat his mother. I would visit home and he would wave from up on the hill.
My parents began talking about the likelihood that he would eventually break into their home, looking for guns or drugs. They were realistic about the possibility of having to shoot him, though they obviously didn't want to.
A few years ago, his cousin (also a neighbor) was home from surgery and healing. He broke into her home, beat her, then tried to rape her. She was badly hurt but managed to hit him hard enough with her crutches to escape him and call the police.
Within a few months, it came to be known in the community that Wesley was raping his elderly mother regularly in their home. She admitted to it and said it was easier to "let it happen" than to try and "keep him off." Wesley admitted to it during one of his stays in prison. No charges ever came about.
Last year, he began watching my parents' house more obviously. Then following my mother on her walks. Then acting more menacing, coming onto their property and damaging things. He was perching under trees at our neighbor's house so he could look in the windows at night, including my mother's bedroom.
My mother began wearing a pistol 24/7 within the home. She's 62. Finally, he was arrested for stalking charges, and the sheriff said he'd be in for a year.
Somehow, he got out early. Today, he's on his porch, watching my parents' house. They talked to the sheriff and the county attorney, both of whom said, more or less, "If you shoot him, no one will care. Just make sure you shoot him plenty of times."
I'm in another state, researching exterior cameras and trying to find the time to drive 6+ hours down to them so I can install these. Not to prevent anything, really, but to document it. And I keep having flashbacks to that rubber tarantula in the closet.
He's just one of them. There were more. There was David, who pretended to be the friend of my deceased brother but took me out to the woods. There were the old perverts who came into my fast food job as a teenager to say dirty things, and the one who tried to pull me into his car through the drive thru window. Junior, who wouldn't hear no.
