Captain Marvel Bug?!
Today I was playing Marvel snap and got into a match where my opponent had a move deck as well so i had to be smart about how I played. I ended up getting certain cards I wanted to the right location and was pretty confident of a win due to Captain marvel. As the game came to and end, both my opponent and I had Captain Marvel at the left location but, his Captain marvel moved to the middle while mine didn't, leading him to a win. I still a bit confused on why my Captain Marvel didn't move as well. Does Captain Marvel work only off of priority and void the other one at the end of a match? Someone please help me figure this out as I've been playing this game for awhile but, never ran into this situation.

If this is how Captain Marvel was intended to be programed, is this even fair at all? I feel like it defeats the whole purpose of using Captain Marvel in general. I already don't use her much as is.

P.S. I am aware that his may be a topic already but am still confused on how it works. Our captain marvels were also played on the same turn so does that make priority the determiner?

Decided to design and 3D print some instead.

Just a quick update for my mod, ReImagined Gaming: Unique Shipset.
Hello, im Gray. Author and aspiring chew toy for wild dogs. I'm currently practicing my ability to write descriptions of my mod, for when i push my mod RIG: US out to the steam audience. Perhaps you can look at this post as a teaser of sorts, maybe you might want to explore this further in the comments.
Lets get into it, what does my mod do? - Simply put, when you select the graphic of your ships in the default game, this is largely meaningless. It is purely cosmetic when comparing ships, everyone gets the amount of slots, the same type of slots, and the same combat capabilities. - My mod, changes this entirely.

In RIG, every ship is different based on the graphics. In a sense, you can imagine them less as skins, and more like picking a faction between Protoss, Zerg, Terrans, or GDI, Nod, Scrin. Arthropoid ships are WILDLY different from Avian ships. Or Toxoid to Humanoid. Ect ect. I have a massive spreadsheet that outlines all their differences, which isn't quite ready to be fully released. But, preview below.
Very brief overview. More detail in link. Document not entirely complete. But close. Total cost is in reference to Alloys. Each slot costs a specific price. Heavier ships, will cost more.
The obvious nature of this impact on the game cannot be understated. Yes, its fully AI worked. It was difficult, but it works. Oddly enough, Stellaris AI code is much like a big game of Pachinko. Sadly however, when you screw with the AI to the extent i have, this limits its compatibility. The fact is, this is simply impossible to make compat with the vast majority of total conversions or combat rework mods that impact the same areas of code. I gave up on compat a VERY long time ago. Thankfully Giga still works with this. But things like ACOT or NSC, no chance, never going to be possible. Oh also, i abolished the Frigate. Everything the frigate does, can be achieved with every other ship choice. It is simply has no place in the mod. Maybe I'll find it a new purpose in the future.
But, wait, there's more. With a massive ship rework, i also have a MASSIVE rework to all the icon art work, the weapon and module function, and the way AI builds its ships. You can see this reworked art below as a sample.
Defense modules with Generic tech paths. All icons have S M L and sometimes XL icons.
There are also more than three types of weapon damage. Such as, plasma damage, of which are folded into two generic tech paths pictured below. Which is also reflected within the massive drone rework present within RIG.
Plasma weapons. Not all of them, but the generic types.

Size of drone is restricted to size of ship. Effectively, drones should be thought about as small mobile turrets. Where the gun carried is one size lower than the listed size. XL carries an L.
In addition to all this, RIG also contains a massive rework to how the Ascend paths effect the techdeck. If you choose a path, you will be granted a specific set of T6 tech unlocks.

From top to bottom. Synth, Machine (robot empire specific), Hive Mind, Biological, Psychic, and CRISIS. In RIG, when you choose to become the crisis, you BECOME THE CRISIS.
Should you choose to not chase any ascend path, then empires can keep up the power struggle with generic T6 items that you can obtain through FE (not pictured) or the new archaeo tech items. I love the idea of these items, PDX did great. However, i feel they can be implemented better.
I have reworked the artwork for the Archaeo Items. Damage values will be different to the default game, to bring them in line with RIG items. Roughly T6 Strength.
So, how long until I'm ready to launch? Great question. I have no idea. But i know I'm close. Or at least i was before the DLC broke things. But hey, ill work it out eventually.
Feel free to ask me questions in the comments. I encourage it, as It will help me understand what is important to people when i construct the steam page, in between studying my masters of teaching. I have a lot on my plate, but ill get around to it.

Looking to buy my first complete! I owned the og (25 mm) TechDecks as a kid and now I want a bigger, better quality fingerboard. My budget is $20-30. I don't need a super high-quality board like Berlinwood but I don't plan on upgrading anything so I would like to have a something out-of-the-box that will last awhile. I'm torn between the following:
P-Rep Complete $12-18 shipped
This was my initial first choice but after further research I'm not too sure.
Steephill (Deck + Trucks + CNC Wheels): $21 shipped
This is what I'm leaning towards right now. Is this a good idea?
DK Complete: $30 shipped
A great deck for sure but is it worth the extra 9 bucks?
Sorry for the longish post. I would really appreciate any input to help me decide between these boards. I considered Skull and Bollie but international shipping puts them out of budget.
Any other brands/tips/feedback for a beginner like me are also welcome!

be me, level 3 dragonborn paladin
be not me, human warlock, human sorcerer, halfling cleric, all also level 3
remember the title, no "player" casualties
we had just been sent on a quest from a small town, having a problem with people disappearing, including the mayor
apparently frogs were a common theme in the disappearances

we set out to investigate
i suggest investigating a nearby swamp, no one else has any ideas so we go for it
wander into a swamp village, or what was supposed to be one
currently run down, ransacked
people still lived there though
all basically insane, led by a half demon whom they proclaimed their "savior"
after some investigation, turned out they all were formerly mind controlled by frogs, the demon guy freed them
demon wanted help defeating these frogs
why not I guess
the people had gathered around a stage, where the demon was giving a speech
while he was speaking, the mayor of the quest town crept up the stairs, lunged at the demon with a dagger
before the party could react, the demon fire blasted him with his finger, mayor collapses and rolls off the stage
crowd goes totally berserk, pure chaos ensuing
as new players, we didn't know what we were supposed to do
so, without any other real plan, I leap from the center of the crowd onto the stage, passing an acrobatics check
like 15 foot jump
turn to the crowd, plunge my sword into the stage and sorcerer casts a lightning bolt from the heavens into it
roll for intimidation
nat 20
basically thunder to the crowd to stop, everybody freezes

we work out a deal with the demon, agree to go find and defeat the frogs
while discussing, the sorcerer finds a frog burrowed in the back of the mayor, extra crispy
figure this is how they control people
set out to find the frogs
after a day of travel, come to a clearing, 8 large trees surrounding the entrance to a cave
demon described a king frog, golden in color, sitting on top of a giant floating throne, inside the cave
warlock rolls perception, we feel many eyes watching us
whatever they're frogs what can they even do
venture into the cave, come to a large cavern
literally filled wall to wall with treasure
piles of gold, jewels, crowns, barrels of who knows what
then we see the throne
floating, check
giant, check
large, closed eyelid, wait what
eye stalks, what fuck
the frog is perched on top
it's a beholder
the throne is a mind controlled beholder

i strike up conversation with the frog
seems pretty chill, talks about how some asshole half demon is stealing all his slaves
we all are basically just nervous-laughing and agreeing with everything he says, he's sitting on a beholder
asks for our help in recovering his slaves, there's some good gold in it for us
agree before party can speak up, push them out of the cave
goody two-shoes cleric doesn't want to help enable slavery
remind him what kind of throne the king frog had
explain my plan to deal with the frogs, party agrees
we venture back to the swamp village, ask why the demon boy neglected to mention the massive beholder
he shrugs and brushes it off, ok dude whatever
we gather up the villagers, and march them with us
back to the quest town
with a guard garrison
we explain the problem, the size of the problem, and my solution
Captain of the guard agrees
we outfit the roughly 25~ villagers with leather armor and weapons
bring a few guards along too, couldn't hurt
some of the villagers are mages, perfect
we now have a platoon
dm did not expect this, pleasantly surprised but feels it's unfair
we don't care, cheating makes things easier, what's he gonna do about it
we march our army to the swamp village, find it burnt to the ground
frogs must have been unhappy, villagers are really unhappy
cool now they're rearing for a fight
travel back to the frog cave
at this point, our warlock wasn't at the session, had something else to do
we basically just in character dump him into a bush, leave him there
as we walk into the clearing, the ground rumbles

earth erupts, out comes a massive frog
like, really big
10 meters tall, very slimey
not very friendly looking tbh
okay maybe this is the dm making things fair
immediately scramble, sorcerer launches some fireballs
these are his best attacks, and we'd been relying on them the whole game so far
literally don't even phase this guy
army attacks, everyone with a melee weapon does hit and runs
this goes on for about 10 minutes, the froghemoth is looking healthy as ever
lost about 7 swordsman so far, many more bloodied
i hatch a crack plan
gather all our npc sorcerers, instruct them to use a specific spell
at this time, the half demon had gone into the cave with our cleric, killed the king frog, and used some sorta magic seal to possess the beholder
we see the cleric sprint out of the cave, beholder in tow
uh oh
ooc ask the dm if spells can stack
he says sure
his mistake
in rounds, i escort groups of sorcerers to the froghemoth to slap his knees
the slaps were the spell jump
about 30 slaps later, all the sorcerers are either mutilated or incapacitated
im knocking on death's door myself, sitting on 4 hp
remember the beholder, he's kinda been sitting at the entrance of the cave the whole time
not very useful, but we didn't trust this demon guy, and him possessing one of the most powerful creatures we've come across was a big red flag
party is all single digits, we simply don't have the ability to continue the fight, it's time
but i don't want to deal with the beholder afterwards
we don't got the time nor patience
i rush the frog, getting it's attention, then spring towards the beholder
froghemoth shoots it's tongue at me
i roll acrobatics
nat 20
catch the tongue midair, proceed to tie it to the beholder
beholder is pissed
shoots a laser beam at me
barely pass my saving throw, but enough to successfully wrap the tongue around it and plunge my sword into the tongue, securing it
our cleric casts suggestion on the froghemoth, since he's a dumb boi it passes
cleric whispers "lol dude Micheal Jordan it" directly into the frogs brain
froggy jump
tens of thousands of feet into the air, dragging the beholder with it
disappear from sight, too high to even see anymore
success
as we begin to celebrate, cleric points at my arm
my saving throw was barely enough, but not enough to keep the beholder from vaporizing my left arm at the shoulder
small price to pay for a successful fight

makes for a cool story, ladies will dig it im sure
heal up, set back out for the swamp village
come to a massive crater where it used to be
with a large, very bloody, very battered, very angry froghemoth inside
not fair
really not fair
luckily, a volley of magic missiles puts the beast down, for good this time
beholder is nowhere to be found, but we don't care anymore, just want to go back to town and get the gold
walk into town with a bloody army half the size it used to be
townsfolk don't care, we killed a froghemoth and a beholder (probably)
also the dead were mostly the villagers, not the guards, so the townies don't gaf
party hard, drink a lot, level up
that was the end of our campaign. Awesome finish, and we saved our character sheets for future adventures.
edit: lol, didn't realize how long it was till i read it again TL:DR a party of technically 3 found a beholder, didn't want to fight it, gathered an army, dm didn't like it so he threw a froghemoth at us and we still beat a challenge level 10 and 13 monster at level 3

Hey guys! Just got back from a very long break from fingerboarding. I started with using 96mm techdecks back in the early 2000s. Im in the Philippines so wooden decks were not available back then until 2005 or 2007ish. Just got back 2 weeks ago and a lot has changed. Im really having a hard time adjusting my game from those narrow decks to the new wooden fingerboards that I got.
Any tips i can do to enhance my game?

2012.05.20 07:41 Odd_Similarities My Son's Birthday... Not Too Proud To Beg :( But Not For Too Much! Mostly Info!

Normally, my pride is huge and I suffer lots for it but today I'll bow down for the sake of my son. Everybody's got a sob story so here's mine as quick and concise as possible >.<
Single mother, 4 sons(19, 18, 15, and 12yrs old), no child support... not an uncommon story, I know... I support my sons and I do an damn fine job of it. I'm proud of it. My youngest son has Cerebral Palsy. It's mostly his gross motor skills. He can't walk but he crawls around the house. He's worked hard to get his hands to work as well as they possibly can. Keeping up with his gamer older brothers is tough work! OK, just a little back story!
So, his birthday is the 28th of May but I decided to have his birthday party this weekend because my 18yr old is on home visit from the National Guard Youth Challenge Program. It's a boot camp for those of you who don't know. He stole a yo-yo and a techdeck from Walmart when he was 15. Still wrong but he's not a murderer or drug dealer =( OK, anyways, so I bought him a 360 elite from one of my older boys' friend for 130$ and I bought him 3 used games that I could afford, Bomberman(which he loveddddddd as a minigame), Unreal Tournament, and World At War... He lovesssss Black Ops but it was out of my price range...but my oldest son said there's a zombie game on World At War, which is what he loves on Black Ops... Oh! He's not one of those totally horrible kid gamers! I think the highest he's gotten is lvl 32 on the zombie part of Black Ops(I'm not gonna lie, not sure how bad or good it is but his brothers let him play with them so I'm guessing it's not bottom of the barrel...lol... I'm an MMO/RTS gamer so not your regular oblivious mom but still!)
Down to the begging... I need to know if anyone knows where I can get him a free 30 day game card... I really only need it to be free for the next 10 days... I would be fine with a 10 day card too! Sad to say, but I don't have 1.00$ on my debit card to get the special first month 90% off deal :( I support 5 of us in the house on 1,000$ a month. Who's got 2 thumbs up and can budget like a boss???? This woman! So, anyone know of a site giving away a free month or anyone have a free month card sitting around they won't use??

TLDR: Any site that would offer free 30 day gamecards for Xbox Live or if anyone has one that they don't need because they already have Live??? While I'm at it, any sites that would have great deals on used 360 or PS3 games also!! You will make a poor pitiful(but not old!!!!) mommy very happy :D

I probably couldn't go through with the possible forgeries. I'm one of those people who looks ridiculous when trying to lie, even for a friend, even when I know it's for a good reason. If I wouldn't have known about it, I'd have been confident about it but now I would just look guilty as sin lol. It's fine, I'll figure out something. He's fine with waiting 10 days, it just sucks that I didn't realize I didn't have the dollar left on my card to turn on Live when the boys set it up. Thanks again for all the posts. Except, of course, the man/woman who found it necessary to try to make me feel like crap. I don't understand people like you. There's no benefit in it? Is a false sense of superiority worth taking time out of your day? Are you sitting at home with a, "Well, I do believe I told her." self satisfied look on your face? Do you only treat strangers this way or do you set out to make your friends feel badly as well? Does bringing other people down bring you up? I guess I'll never get it. But if you act like this to the wrong person, I'm sure you'll get it eventually.... I hope that doesn't happen. I don't wish bad things on anyone. I do have to warn you, though, I wouldn't be going around calling women bad mothers too very often. In America, or anywhere else. I suppose over the internet is safe enough. Do it face to face, and there's a good chance you'll get mauled. My mother's a little 5ft tall cajun/french/italian woman. I'd actually pay you to go in her face and call her a bad mother so I can record the outcome. That would be front page stuff, right there. But, I digress.
