Hello, I am hoping that someone is able to help me with this, I want to replace the vanilla legionnaire and storm cloak helmet with the New Legion mod I have installed and Sons of Skyrim. Hi, for my first tattoo I'm looking to combine my interest in mythology and my upbringing by updating the "El Mundo" card from the game loteria.
If there is anyway any of you could match the image of Atlas to the style of the card and replace the guy that's there that would be amazing.

The economy needs different competitive content (and atlas trees, you can switch between them now anyway) that can be profitable with their own specific supply and demand chain

• Blight should be the sole provider of oils, and only oils.
• Ultimatum for catalysis, and only catalysts.
• Abyss for jewels (_any_ jewels; remove regular jewels from the core droppool).
• Delve should be the sole source of fossils.
• Heist for alternative bases, include vermillion rings etc and remove from core droppool.
• Delirium for cluster jewels.
• Something something for tattoos?
• Add something that covers synthesis fracture/alternate implicit?

Especially in the example set during this league by Scarabs; people tend to automatically specialize and it is (maybe subjectively) more fun but surely more profitable to do so rather than aimlessly grinding content not really knowing or caring what drops as long as it is valuable. Scarabs simply do this job the wrong way since they create an accessibility threshold: inherently they create a market dominance of those who can use them reliably over those who cannot with an ever increasing gap. The rest is stuck struggling with a diluted pool of increasingly devaluing loot because they get a bit of the bottom tier of everything.
The idea is to incentivize players to cater to a specific portion of the market, which every player tends to visit at least once. It should have a specific demand that simply cannot be satisfied elsewhere.
Similarly, maybe new leagues should preferably also give access to a league specific build upgrade like a rune, or an inscription, or spectre corpses, a gearable merc, or a mount (jk ... or not), ...

I’ve been on the fence for a while about what type of tattoo to honour my son. His name is Atlas, and I don’t know whether I should refer to the god atlas or a world map etc.
He was named Atlas for strength.

I’m interested in trying to find a direction for my next tattoo. I was originally thinking about Yggdrasil, the tree of life, and am now thinking of combining that with Atlas holding a globe which contains Yggdrasil. Pretty unique and exciting. But I’m also budding with ideas for my other arm, and I’m looking for a direction to explore regarding mathematics/geometry and space/origins of the universe. I find the Fibonacci sequence fascinating, and was curious if anyone had any ideas they could float my way that are one of like that? Even pointing me in the direction of research on these topics would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Everyone!
I need a little help from you guys. So I have pretty big number of mods since I like to play highly moded tavs and just overall enjoy the game more with mods to have a bigger customization option, I also have mods like appereance edit Enhanced, the Emote mod (forgot what it's called), Aethers party Limits and much more installed (also stuff like dice or races). I recently added a few new ones, a few were broken so I deleted them and it all worked fine after that.
A few days alter I finally decided to install body tattoo switcher and some outfit mods. I didn't really think about trying to launch the game in-between each mod I put into the game so I tried launching it after adding them and that's when I encountered the problem taht currently has me right before a mental break down (I love bg3 so me maybe for forever breaking it is really stressful for me right now). First off all when I try clicking on the icon on my screen it lauches steam first as usual, but than (80% of the time) it tells me that there has a problem occurred (sometimes it still works over the icon on the screen but most of the time it tells me that) and the only way I only really can open the laucher successfully is over my steam library, but that's not that big of a deal, still shit but I can mange, but the real problem really only comes when the launcher is open. When I press on play I get the usual little spinning thing that indicates that it's loading but then the thing suddenly disapears which should be indicating that it loaded the game but my script extender doesn't open up and the game doesn't start (I can wait for half a day and it still doesn't open so it's not that my pc just takes so long to load it it really is a problem in the game). So I tried updating the script extender, it should have been up to date anyway but I thought that I might have clicked a wrong link and downloaded the wrong file by accident or something so I tried updating it but that still didn't fix anything and it still didn't work, so I started deleting all the mods I recently added but it still doesn't work now.
At that point I don't know what to do cause everything is up to date (except if I missed checking somthing) and it worked fine just a few days ago😭 does someone maybe know what's the problem? Btw I use DirectX 11 and mod with bg3mod Manger if that matters? I don't think I did anything with the files that caused it, the only thing I did was put different body type 1 dragonborn heads in my game (a replacer file so I had to overwrite the files of the original female dragon born head) and changed out the Atlas tattoo file from Unique Tav so I can use the body tattoo switcher. So please help!🙏

Also please don't wrote anything mean about me playing the game this highly Modder, I know taht some people don't like hughöy Modder games but I think everyone should play the agen however they like and I like it this way. Hi! I'm thinking about getting a tattoo that represents my ocd and I have a few ideas but I need some help narrowing it down. I would love to get some opinions on which one/ones sound the best. I'll try to give my explanation behind each idea as well so the context makes sense.

1. Art of Atlas holding up the sky or just the word "atlas". It's based on the greek myth of Atlas who was burdened with holding up the sky for eternity. It's what I bring up sometimes when I try describe to people what constant intrusive thoughts feel like.
2. "oh well". This would be a small reminder to just say oh well and move on from the thoughts in my head. I like the simplicity of it as well. This works for my anxiety too.
3. A person looking out through prison bars but the door is open right next to them. This one is kinda complicated and I don't even know how I'd design it, but I like the idea of remembering that the only person keeping me trapped in my thoughts is me, and I can escape if I want.
4. A girl with an umbrella standing under rain that is pouring only over her. Kinda similar to the previous one, but something that would serve as a reminder that the downpour isn't actually happening and that I can step out from it if I just have the right perspective.
5. "don't listen". Similar to "oh well". Just a reminder to not listen to the voice in my head that wants me to believe the things it's telling me.

These are my favorite ones I have thought of so far. If anyone has any ideas for things similar to this or different variations I'd love to hear them!

by Amway. My husband has a lot of tattoos, the most visible being a full sleeve. He's also 6'1" and a national Strongman competitor (like powerlifting but pulling trucks and lifting atlas stones instead of weights). He's kind of an intimidating looking guy. He comes home one day excited but confused and tells me how someone at the coffee shop complimented his tattoos and started asking him about them. He was surprised bc nobody ever bothers him, this was the first time anyone in public has ever casually walked up to him and started a conversation about tattoos. I then remembered the episode where Tim talked about his similar experience with an Amway rep and I had to break it to my husband....I don't think it was just a "nice guy" that wanted to give him compliments 😔 definitely both had a good laugh over that one

My very first tattoo was inspired by Play Crack the Sky.
Now, with how heavy my mental health has been this past month, I'm planning on my next tattoo also having BN ties to the song Waste. A breakup with the person who is my soulmate and tying it in with the heaviness I always carry with me and can never seem to offload despite years of therapy is the inspiration.
The lyrics I am pulling inspiration from are:

What imagery comes to mind for you guys? Atlas carrying the weight of the world has come to mind, but I want to it represent more of the mental load that I carry.

I've been experiencing this "issue" where the lips and tip of the nose are blocky, not sure why.
I've tried Diamond Skin, The Pure as my skin textures and they stay blocky nontheless. Any idea why?
I've seen an old reddit post that said that I should get uncompressed normal maps, but I'm not sure how. Any ideas?
I have iTintTextureResolution=2048 in skse.ini, didn't do anything I tried using Seductive Lips SE and there's not much of a difference and that doesnt fix the nose.

I understand this post will cause a mass divide with people either hating it or loving it, I believe GGG's stance is that this will never happen. But I'll go ahead and propose it anyway with all the PRO's and CON's I can think of and my personal vision of how the system will look toward the end of this post.
And as this is a massive change I am suggesting, I think this should be done AFTER the league in a 2 week event, with a scuffed interface that doesn't require much dev time to see if the community and devs like it.
Let's get into it
The Great Exchange (name to be worked on)
Basically this will be an auction house for currency items only
This will include the following:
Currency, Fragments, Coffins, Tattoos, Omens, Div cards, Artifacts, Oils, Incubators, Maps, Delirium Orbs/Splinters, Scarabs, Memories, Fossils, Essences, Catalysts and Beasts
In my ideal test scenario you would be able to list said items in your stash and a person could click said offer on the trade website. This could work both ways:
as an example I could list 3 alterations for 1 chaos orb or list 1 chaos orb and buyout is 3 alterations. When you click, the currency swaps owners and it's done
If this takes off and the community/devs are happy with the way everything is going, more dev time could be put into it and the system could get prettier, easier and more intuitive to use etc.

Pros:

• Not having to scroll past 78 price fixers

This is a massive problem especially this league with T17 maps, but a pain in general for most currency related trades

• Not having to instantly send an invite or risk losing the trade (FOMO)

Most people, myself included, will just go down the list and send 15 pm's when I'm trying to buy a commonly used currency. Why? Because the chance of a person inviting you is ~10%
Sometimes multiple people invite you and you feel bad for making that person waste time.
Also sometimes you will straight up just die because you stopped playing to invite someone, that may or may not trade due to said FOMO.

• Not losing portals to trade / lots of time due to things outside of your control

Not only is it annoying to leave a map and sit through a loading screen twice, there is also a chance that your buyer either goes to the wrong hideout, isn't able to access your hideout, enters your map (on purpose or accident, yes i know it can be locked), tries to scam you, game crashes or just straight up leaves and gives up on the trade. All of these things waste precious gaming time. I'm not a streamer. I have limited hours to play in a day.

• Massive player influx

When this gets announced, the servers might just crash because a lot of people want to try this
People love new and big changes, it keeps the game fresh.

• Trying out new strategies

Want to kill 10 uber elders and see the loot? Well you wouldn't have to go to a third party tool to easily purchase the sets at a crazy markup.
Want to set up 50 maps and just play the next 2-3 hours? Well you wouldn't have to trade for 30 mins trying to buy scarabs, chisels, rolled maps whatever you need.

• More convenient crafting ( Pro and Con at the same time )

Ever wanted to upgrade your item? Need a quick exalt? Just 10 ichors? Only 2 unmaking orbs to swap your atlas strat? League started 10 hours ago and you don't have a vaal orb to progress your atlas?
Most people just won't bother even trying to buy a single one of these items because people simply won't respond, missing out on a ton of character power or a simple QoL that would make the game a lot more enjoyable for the little guy.
This isn't irrelevant late game either, many "above average" players which I'm assuming are the people who read this will benefit greatly from being able to craft their gear without having to message 38 different people for beasts (that will hit you with "autoreply: bulk 5+ only")

Now I'm not delusional, I know there are some really big flaws with the system I'm suggesting
Cons:

• More convenient crafting

It might make the game too easy, instead of going out to farm that thing because trading is annoying, you can just buy it. Overall I think this would be a positive though especially later on when you need lots of resources

• Losing valuable items

If the process is automatic, you wont get spammed 20 times for an item you mispriced, it will just disappear. Now, you probably won't even know you got bamboozled. This is why I proposed this to be only for currency items, not rares and uniques which have a million ways to be priced based on their stats. Also this will be less likely to happen as you would be able to see the going rate of said items, they're not price fixed anymore so you can know the exact value of your orb at the time.

• Player interaction

I feel like this is a big point devs want to push, I think it's silly at this point, especially for currency items.. How often do you have a conversation with the person you're trading?
Best case you get a "ty" or a "bla bla bla bla" from a robot macro. I don't know how the community feels about the topic, but when a trade macro sends me a "thank you" message it makes me cringe. If you don't want to bother typing just don't at all.
Most of my conversations in trade come from rare item trades which wouldn't be affected by this at all. People asking how the item was crafted, asking what build it was used in, price negotiation etc.

• Some duplication bug that will ruin the economy

Self explanatory, bound to happen.. that's why I suggest we test it in a 2 week event not an actual league

• RMT & Flipper Bots

Bots that just flip currency all day for RMT farms
Again self explanatory, these would be easier to create but possibly easier to catch as well. Maybe some sort of tax per use could be created so at least they can't operate with minimal margins. Maybe a higher level requirement or challenge number requirement.. we can come up with something to deter them.

• Massive potential con. Monopoly

I left this one for last as I'm simply not financially savvy enough to understand what kind of impact the 0.001% could have on the economy if there are no trade time restrictions.
We all know there are individuals that have unlimited mirrors to take over the economy. I'm not talking about the fubguns/empy juicers who drop 10 mirrors in a day due to farming, rather the groups whose sole purpose is to funnel money into one person, that person crafts a mirror item, then they mirror service it to snowball the currency into making a entire mirror shop producing them passive income that most of us can't even imagine earning in 10k hours of playtime.
Could they just decide no more alterations for us? No more delirium orbs? Hoard them all? I'm not sure
If the tests are a success, I feel like GGG could find a way to suppress this issue with some sort of limitation that won't affect 99.99% of the player base.
I also want to add that, most games that do have a global auction house, did not collapse from this but PoE is also not like most games

How I imagine the final product to look with dev time if the preliminary tests turn positive:
Your premium and public stash tabs would be visible in your hideout, the player locates you on the trade website and hits visit hideout. They can see your character and hideout with all your crazy MTX and 40 challenge totems. They can message you if they desire to do so. They walk up to the Public stash you placed and basically do a trade with a neat looking interface that clearly tells you how much currency you are putting in and getting out of it. You as the seller have a remove only box where your successfully traded currency goes and an Indicator maybe even a ingame notification that a trade went through. This could even work while you are offline but it's TOGGLEABLE.
If that all goes well, I would move onto the items market. Yes, actual items, but these wouldn't be instant buyout still, instead you could leave an offer that the seller can accept within a reasonable amount of time (30 mins or so). You can retract your offer at any time to retrieve your currency if you no longer wish to purchase that item. And maybe just maybe with a big warning, you can leave an instant buyout as the seller if you are 100% confident you priced it correctly.
Alternative idea would be some crazy underground town / hub looking place where you can go via the waypoint and list your currency or purchase listed currency. While enjoying the look of a lore accurate market and players can chill there like in act towns showing off their characters and chatting in local chat.
For both of these options, when you lookup an item in the in-game UI you would see the trade history of said item, current buy and sell offers for the item and average suggested price for said item.
So let's say you have a "The Fortunate" divination card
When you look it up you will see the following:
15 buy orders for the card at 25c, 24c, 24c, 23c, 23c, 22c, 78 alchemy, 38 vaal orbs..etc
You can click any of those orders and instantly sell the card to them at their offer price
You can also see the current sell orders and how much they value them
Don't like the offers? No worries
You can list yours at 58 scouring orbs or 26c and wait for another player to purchase it for that amount
On the right side you will also see last 10 successful trades of said item and the going rate
example:
chieftain lvl 98 2 fortunate -> 50c assassin lvl 91
trickster lvl 99 21 scouring -> 1 fortunate slayer lvl 78
And you would also have a average suggested price based on that (I believe a chaos orb equivalent system already exists so this should be relatively easy to implement)
Basically the same way steam community market operates
This is just the final "end game" developer suggestion, I realize this will take months if not years of dev time that might be better put into other avenues but I hope it at least gets evaluated if the community likes it or some version of it!
Final thoughts:
This is a massive change that will affect the economy and player base in unpredictable ways, I would love to hear why you love or hate the idea. If you have ideas how this could be implemented in the game lore wise as well, that would be awesome to hear.
For the developers, I'd like to say the following:
No one will be upset or quit your game if you communicate your thought process and make big changes, I think the massive scarab and atlas rework of this league was a very positive change for the game and taking big steps like this keeps the game fresh. Sure there were some bugs and unintended features (Funny curation scarab), but you worked with the community feedback to fix it in a timely manner and that is all we can ask for.
About me:
For conspiracy theorists that I'm trying to take over the market or something, this post's point of view comes from a player who is pretty average, I have a 8-4 job and other responsibilities, 2 void stones at the end of day one/two, mageblood 2 weeks into the league. I'm not some crazy grinder that wants to destroy and run the economy, I'm just trying to make it easier to play for those of us that don't have that much time to play. Spend less time trading, more time gaming!
I would also like to ask not to get hung up on any of my suggestions for the final product as they are obviously subject to taste and change, but rather to focus on the idea and if you would like to see some version of the system implemented!

This is as simple straightforward and simple as it gets, with 0 investment. Either do it in trade to farm corpses to sell or do it in ssf to farm for crafts you wanna do.
Im not even saying this is turbo optimal, but this has worked for me and it seems more than good enough so thought id share it cos i saw a lot of people asking how to get more corpses.

Shrine, Strongbox, ritual chance, map modifier effect, league mechanic nodes mandatory.
Influence is your choice, go eater if you like eater go exarch if you like exarch.
If you your character is weak or you just like Niko then you can go Niko instead of the scarab nodes.
Map sustain is naturally optional, but i prefer sustaining my maps.
Im in SSF so i dont care about trade, but according to a quick check using wealthy exile to check the tabs i put the corpses, scarabs, and currency i dropped specifically only during those 100 maps, i made 60 divines.

important to note it is not calculating ANY of my MANY allflames i looted doing this, nor is it calculating any of the tattoos i got doing this by using the allflames that dropped, and i dropped like 100 tattoos, so this is very much above 60D. Importantly if you sell the corpses in bulk you will also get way more, and as this strat showers you in corpses you will have plenty to sell in bulk rather than having to sell one at a time, but assuming i sold these one at a time at market rate this wouldve been 12div/hour.
What do you need for the strat? Any build that can clear maps, the 12div/hour is calculated based on the 5 hours i took to do 100 maps, with an average of 3 mins per map including putting things into stash, keep in mind my filter and stuff isnt even that strict, i pick up shit like chromes, fusings, some shitty cards, rogue coins, etc, you could absolutely blast faster. If you go slower at 4 mins per map itd be like 9div/hour, considering its 0 investment id say thats decent.
The maps you want to run are Underground Sea - Residence, bounce between those 2 if self sustaining, underground sea is the better map, in my 100 maps i did 80 underground sea and 20 residence, residence isnt horrible but it takes a bit longer due to layout.
The reason you run those maps and the reason you go shrine strongboxes and ritual chance is for map density, the only thing that affects the Haunted and Devoted modifiers are NATURAL mob spawns, monsters from league mechanics like legion, abyss, etc, dont get affected.
Shrines spawn packs around them, Strongboxes spawn mobs with the haunted modifiers, ritual adds packs to the map with the haunted modifier.
Important note about ritual, the only nodes you care about are ritual chance, and DONT RUN THE RITUAL ITSELF. Ritual is dogshit, not as dogshit as D4 but the point is you're wasting your time running it, the mobs spawned FROM STARTING THE RITUAL, DO NOT have haunted modifers, only the extra packs added to the map by having ritual on your map, tldr; dont do ritual just kill mobs.
I Alched the maps, and ran them with the shrine map device ( 3 chaos ) adds 3 shrines aka 3 packs to the map, i didnt even chisel the maps because im ssf and didnt have enough, i have enough now tho so will do that next run, with chisels you would easily get way more stuff.
If you have the currency, i HEAVILY recommend strongbox map device for 7 chaos, 2x ambush scarab 1x ambush scarab of hidden compartments you will get WAY MORE stuff. These 100 maps were done with no chisels and no scarabs, i also did 50 yesterday with a similar result, so id say its accurate.
Anyway, you put the map into the map device, you open the lantern, and this is important PUT THE STRONGEST HAUNTED MODIFIERS AT THE TOP. Most devoted modifiers are worthless, haunted modifiers INCREASE THE DROP RATES OF CORPSES AND ALLFLAMES HEAVILY.
If you get good devoted modifiers like unmakings, divines, etc, anything you care about you can naturally put that at the top and use things like frogs, rats, meat boi, you get the drill.
But aside from that if you get shit like jewelly bois, fusings, useless stuff like that just yeet it at the bottom and prioritise the haunted modifiers being on the most packs.
You run around, you kill mobs, you pick up loot and corpses. That is it.
Tldr;
Underground sea map - residence bounce, preffer underground sea. Shrine map device 3 chaos. shrine, strongbox, ritual chance ( dont do the ritual ) grave nodes atlas passives. Thats it. Kill mobs, loot corpses.

I had to hand it to Hal, I thought as our motley crew settled into our table at Hal's Low Cost Fine Dining and Exotic Foods, he really had managed to corner an extremely niche market. It made me think of that old story of Michael Jackson renting out an entire grocery store and populating it with his own people so that he could experience what it was like to be a normal person going grocery shopping. If you were a Lovecraftian horror from an alternate dimension with a taste for human souls, I would imagine going out for dinner and drinks at a restaurant with friends was an experience you were rarely able to enjoy.
I had been in the restaurant a few times since beginning my employment, but it was mostly just in and out for restocking purposes. One time it was to help chase down a zombie who was trying to dine and dash (dine and shuffle, ba dum tss). But this was my first time actually dining here.
If one were to disregard the clientele, they could almost believe there was nothing overtly special about this particular eaterie. That was, until they sat down and began to actually examine their surroundings. The decorative artwork existed in that same banal subgenre found in an average chain Italian restaurant. Bland and forgettable scenes of idyllic European wineries Except the wood pile at the side of the living quarters was composed of bones and there seemed to be a decapitated body lying next to the stump decorated with an axe standing at a forty five degree angle. Portraits of a happy family in a sunny kitchen casually chopping the fingers off a disembodied arm. One painting towards the entrance to the kitchen was of a scared-looking man who seemed to be frozen midway through pounding on the canvas in an attempt to break his way out.
There were only around thirty tables in the restaurant, but they were spread far apart to accommodate diners of any size. Of those thirty tables, only six of them were occupied. Three by seemingly normal humans, if not for the noticeable blood splatters around each of their plates. A large gelatinous blue blob relaxed contentedly at another while a full sized human slowly digested inside of it. Another held a minotaur and a gorgon who gazed at each other with hunger, though whether it was for sex or dinner was impossible to tell. At the final table sat Satan in all his red-skinned, spiral-horned, cloven-footed glory. He seemed to be completely engrossed in his copy of Atlas Shrugged.
My eyes lingered on Satan for a bit, wondering if the traditional neutrality of the restaurant had maybe been taken a little too far. As a result, I jumped a little in my seat when the waiter spoke behind me.
“Sir, would you like to sample the house wine?”
I turned around and locked my eyes with a pair of dead ones that stared back at me. The vampire looked young, maybe eighteen or nineteen. His hair had that way-too-greased look that all vamps seemed to have. His gaunt skin looked almost as if it had been stretched over his skull and his canines bulged out grotesquely from his mouth. His gaze seemed to drip hate. Probably at the world in general, but it certainly felt like it was directed at me personally. I will never in a million years understand why people thought vampires were sexy.
“Sure, sparkles. Pour one out,” I responded.
The vampire grimaced and proceeded to pour a taste of deep red wine for me. “Aged fifty years, notes of oak, lavender, and brunette.”
I blinked at that last one, feeling a sharp tingle down my spine, knowing that it meant what I thought it meant.. This would be a line I hadn’t crossed yet. Butch watched me from across the table, his eyebrow cocked as if curious what I would do. I met his eyes and downed the glass. Still a trainee my ass.
I’m not sure exactly what this fact says about me, but I found the wine to be excellent.
“It’s delicious, but I probably couldn’t afford the bottle. Not when Butch is paying me half what he’s paying the temp. Just a virgin daiquiri for me.”
The bloodsucker nodded and moved around the table taking everyone's drink order. Babs gently nudged me and whispered “The waiter you just called ‘sparkles’ is Gwaed, the eldest son of the ruling vampire family in Europe. He's over six hundred years old.”
I looked at her with a slight smile. “Butch just admitted he's stuck on the mortal plane,” I whispered back. “How long has he been stuck here?”
“About five hundred years, I think.”
“Last week I called him a non-Tesla pigeon fucker. For me, “sparkles” is downright polite.”
Babs gazed at me thoughtfully. “You know, I'm putting the odds at about fifty-fifty for whether your personality is going to take you far in this lifestyle or get you killed in the next week.”
I shrugged. “If I’m going to be killed, I want to feel like I deserved it. Hey, if Sparkles is a prince, what the hell is he doing working here?”
“No idea, he would never talk about it. My guess is he or his dad owes Hal for something. That's how most people end up working here.”
“Not me, I volunteered.”
“Yeah, but you're pretty fucked up in general, right?”
“Fair enough.”
Butch glanced at us. “I think you two whispering together might actually be the most terrifying thing in this restaurant.”
“Don't be jealous, Butch,” I quipped. “You know you'll always be my bae.”
He rolled his eyes at me and turned back to Exmac. “I hate to admit it, but I think you're the first cupid I've ever met.”
“I'm not surprised,” Exmac said while helping himself to a piece of bread from the center of the table. “You don't really strike me as a one night stand kind of guy.”
Babs was occupied with pouring a little water onto a saucer for three headed quokka, so she didn't see the glance Butch sent her direction.
“I guess not. What's that have to do with it, though? Aren't you basically a heavenly matchmaker?”
Exmac squinted, “More like a divine eugenicist. When it's destiny for two people to bump uglies and push out a kid, they send me in.”
“Well that's a bit disillusioning,” Babs commented. “You don't inspire love then?
Exmac laughed. “When you hear stories about Cupid, how does it go? He fires an arrow at a couple of unsuspecting people. They run to each other and immediately start making out and dry humping each other. Does that sound like love to you? Sure, in the old days once a few periods were missed, they were pretty much forced to get married, and sometimes love would grow from the pairing. But that initial “can't keep your hands off each other” feeling? That's us, and that’s pure lust, Sugar Tits.”
Gwaed returned with our drinks. I wasn't sure what satanic bar they poached their mixologist from, but daiquiri was incredible. I quickly scanned the menu when I realized Gwaed had started taking food orders. Despite my experimentation with the wine, I wasn't ready to go full cannibal yet. Unfortunately that eliminated most of the menu, so I went with the plesiosaur sushi.
Babs and Butch started to bicker about his choice of Erymanthian boar; her claiming that he needed to start watching his blood pressure, and him arguing that he was functionally immortal. While I listened to their banter, I began to feel the prickling sensation of a pair of eyes studying me.
I looked across the restaurant and found myself locking eyes with Satan. He had closed his book and was contemplating me thoughtfully from his table. After a moment of us staring at each other, he tilted his head towards the door to the kitchen. He then stood up and casually strolled through them.
At some point I was really going to have to examine why I felt the compulsion to do the most recklessly irresponsible things. Because when most people see the devil attempt to lure them into the back of a restaurant that serves human, their response is to run the other way. My response was to mutter something about going to get another daiquiri and walk right into the kitchen after him.
I waved hello to the chef, a giant millipede who handled a dozen different sauce pans at once and nodded to the sous chefs, a large hairy man with giant tusks sprouting downwards as he garnished a person’s crushed head on a silver plate surrounded by kale and sprouts and a middle eastern man wearing a full tool belt who was sawing through a human leg with a hand saw.
I gritted my teeth as I continued past the kitchen into the pantry area. I hated coming in here. Although one wall of the long pantry contained all the normal professional kitchen ingredients, the other wall was lined with stacked, cages filled with terrified-looking people who immediately started begging me for help. I wasn’t so jaded yet that I didn’t feel that shock of horror and sink of guilt as I tried to keep an impassive face. Morality became far more complicated once you understood your true place on the food chain.
“Shut up,” growled a voice at the back of the pantry. The cages went quiet. “What the fuck are you doing here, Clear?”
“Three things, Satan,” I began, holding up three fingers. “One, how do you know my name? I know I’m already kind of a big deal around here, but I didn’t think the news of my exploits had gotten as far as your ears yet. Two, I’m thinking about putting out a petition to rename this place The Monster Mash, what do you think? Three, I know you’re the essence of pure evil and all that, but Ayn Rand? Seriously?”
Satan laughed. “I completely forgot, from your perspective, we haven’t met yet. But believe me, we’re old friends.”
“I dunno, I feel like I would remember that.”
“How about now?”
Satan vanished. Simultaneously, I felt a slight pressure on my left shoulder. I turned my head to see a tiny version of Lucifer standing there.
“No, really, Clear. You don’t need to feel bad pushing that kid off the swings, you told him you wanted a turn ten minutes ago! It’s fine, Clear, she’s a nice girl, you don’t need to wear a condom with her! It’s only Walmart, Clear, everybody shoplifts from Walmart once in a while! Don’t worry about it, Clear, everybody already expects you to drink the blood wine!”
The weight from my shoulder disappeared and the devil-looking guy popped back into full size in front of me again.
“You’re my shoulder demon?”
“That’s a bingo.”
“We just say bingo. So you’re not the real devil then?”
“Nope! Just your personal Jiminy Locust.”
“Hey, can you do one-handed pushups?”
“Can you hold a conversation that's not eighty percent movie references? Now I repeat, what the fuck are you doing here?”
“Waiting for my Nessie sushi. Why? Think I should have gone with dragon roll instead?
My demon stared at me. “It's amazing that no part of you needs my encouragement to constantly make shitty jokes.”
“If you’re my shoulder demon, you should already know I only make starting making bad jokes so that I would stop shitting myself instead.”
“And the next time I catch him alone, I’m going to slap Butch full in the face for that. Anyways, I just wanted to have a quick face to face with you and make sure you actually want to do this.”
“Shouldn't there be a shoulder angel having this talk with me?
“He quit when you were nineteen. He’s running the AA meeting in the third circle now.”
“Jesus, am I really that hard to work with?”
“Yes. Look, I agree this is out of my bailiwick, but this isn't the kind of descent into bad decisions I'm used to. This rabbit hole goes deep, Clear. Deep enough that even I have concerns about where we'll end up. You're close enough to the entrance that we can still climb back out. Get back to a normal life. We can get one of your old jobs back, find some hottie to settle down with, get a house with a man cave where we can get stoned and bang the babysitter after the kids go to bed. Trust me, it'll be a fair shake better than where we could end up if you go through that door to Purgatory.”
I stared at my shoulder demon in horror.

“I am not!” I shouted as I filled my pockets with the iron powder Butch had used a few hours earlier. I had been lost in an existential dread throughout the remainder of dinner. “We just need to get going right fucking now and I want to be prepared, I've never been to Purgatory before. I haven't even been to Florida. Purgatory is like Florida, right? I feel like I heard that.”
Butch shrugged. “No, not at all. But also, yeah, kinda. It's still not so bad that you need to bring Excalibur.”
I paused in the process of clumsily strapping the huge sword across my back, before letting it clatter back to the ground. “You're right. We need a low profile. I'll just take the Cloak off Cowardice,” I said, pulling the black supervillain cloak off a shelf and flourishing it over my shoulders.
“Seriously, Clear, what the hell's gotten into you?”
“I don't want to work at IHOP again!” I yelled, my panic infusing my voice with more volume than I intended.
A sharp slap echoed across the store. I looked to the far end of the store to see Babs stalking away from a broadly grinning Exmac. “What?” he shouted after her. “Come on, it was a compliment!”
Babs walked up and glared at me. “We really had to recruit the first angelic being that walks through the door? I know we can do better than a cupid.”
“Look, I know he’s a little Weinstein-y,” I sighed, “but the faerie was only able to tell us where Hal was at the particular moment we asked the question. He could already be gone for all we know.”
Babs shook her head. “Fine. But one of you two needs to go have a talk with that guy. If I have to spend this entire trip hearing about his ideas for tattoos I should get on my chest, I’m going to feed him to the Rancor.”
I looked at Butch. “Do we have a -”
“It’s an idiom, you idiot.” Babs snapped at me.
“Give me a break, it’s only been a few weeks since I learned every other fucking thing was real.”
“Why did we put you in charge of this again?”
“It was my animal magnetism, wasn’t it? ”
“Kid,” said Babs sourly, “Get the cupid off my tits.”
I grunted. “Fine. Butch?”
“Go deal with the pervert angel, I’ll get us packed,” he told me.
I nodded and made my way over to Exmac who was thumbing through a copy of Hustler. He glanced up at me. “Don’t worry,” he told me, “I’ll behave myself going forward. I just like starting the bar off low. It’s the best way to continuously exceed expectations.”
“Believe me, I understand that philosophy better than most.”
He grinned at me. “I can always tell a kindred spirit.”
“Same. Never thought it would be with a cupid, though. I never really thought about what you guys would look like in reality, but I didn't think I expected…” I gestured to all of him. At Butch's polite request, Exmac had decided to spare us his “traditional” sash and overtly chubby nudity. I was still on the fence about whether the neon green velour jumpsuit was actually an improvement.
“If I'm gonna be hanging out in some other planes of existence for a while, I'm doing it in style.
“Is velour all the rage in Purgatory these days?”
He raised an eyebrow at me. “First time?”
“I’m still pretty new to the lifestyle. Should I be worried?”
Exmac gave me an appraising look up and down. My hands seemed to recognize his gaze and instinctually moved to cover my crotch.
“Don’t flatter yourself,” he told me scornfully, “I like my guys with a little more meat on their bones. I’d maybe reconsider that cloak before we go. It won’t really look out of place, but it gets pretty hot during the day.
I swept my cloak up nosferatically. “I need a plan B in case things go sideways. Also, don’t I look awesome in this thing? Vintage vampire might be my new look.”
“Are you drunk?”
“Why does everyone keep asking me that? You were with us at the restaurant, you saw everything I had.”
“You had four daiquiris.”
“Virgin daiquiris.”
There was an extended pause.
“Those were regular daiquiris with virgin blood in them, weren’t they?”
“Makes much more sense now that I know you’re a noob. Nothing fucks you up quite like virgin blood.”
I tried to quell the queasiness that washed over me. For a moment, I reconsidered the cloak. I had already done far more vampiring that day than was probably healthy for me..
“Are you two done blowing each other?” Babs was hefting a backpack over her shoulders. “If I don’t have enough time for a detour to heaven to replace Katniss Everhard over there, we definitely don’t have time for you to go mining for prostates.”
Butch looked up from his inspection of the Chekhov Gun and grinned at her. “Don’t take this the wrong way, but I kind of missed how crass you get when you’re impatient.” He slipped the gun into the waistband of his pants and looked over at us. “She’s right, though. You guys all set?”
I walked back to the counter and pulled the soviet painting off the wall, making sure to keep my eyes from landing directly on it. “I think I’ll bring this along,” I said as I pulled off the frame and rolled it into a manageable tube. “It has that ‘come in handy’ feel to it.” I slipped the tube into the pack Butch had prepared for me. A quick glance inside showed a couple sandwiches, a few religious relics, a set of brass knuckles, a handheld crossbow, and a big bag of weed.
I pulled out the bag of weed. “I’m not complaining, but is this really necessary?”
“We may need to bribe our way through at some point,” Butch explained.
I replaced the weed and slid on the pack. “I’ll take your word for it.”
The purple door at the back of the shop opened and Jack popped his head out. He reached out a gnarled and clawed hand and pumped it up and down a few times.
“Plunger’s under the sink, Jack,” Butch told him. “We’ll probably be gone by the time you get out. You all good in here for the next couple days?”
Jack threw him a thumbs up and disappeared back into the bathroom.
I tried not to let my nervous eagerness show as Butch swept open the blue door to Purgatory. A vast desert wasteland greeted us. After what my shoulder demon said to me, I didn’t hesitate for a moment before passing through the threshold. We walked out onto the alkali sand, kicking up soft acrid clouds as our feet hit windswept clumps. Our surroundings seemed to be a large dried lake bed, completely flat and devoid of life for miles in any direction. Small dust devils sent spirals into the sky, blurring the distant mountains blocking the horizon. Towards the center of the desert, a twinkle of bright, colorful lights thrummed along with the slow distant beat of a joyous hymn.
“It’s going to take hours to walk there,” I complained. “Didn’t the faerie mention something about a subway?”
“Just wait, it’ll find us.”
That raised a few further questions, but I got distracted by the sound of the distant hymn dropping the beat. I began wondering exactly what kind of heavenly song would make me want to start twerking, when the ground began to shake violently below me.
I fell on my ass alongside Exmac and Babs. Butch managed to keep his feet and raised up a hand as if hailing a cab. Suddenly a gigantic beast erupted from the sand and slid to a stop before us. Its huge cylindrical body ended in a huge gaping maw lined with three foot long teeth that dripped saliva. Butch walked up to the creature’s mouth, grabbed ahold of it’s teeth and hauled himself into its mouth. He looked back at us. “You guys coming or what?”
The rest of us scrambled to our feet. I tried desperately to swallow the knot in my throat as I gripped the vibrating animal’s incisors and swung myself onto its tongue. When we were all safely (????) inside, the mouth slowly closed and I felt the huge worm begin to burrow under the ground again. Babs started up a flashlight, illuminating the small portion of orifice we occupied. The worm’s tongue undulated unpleasantly under our feet, keeping me perpetually attempting to keep my balance.
“I’ve got no strings, to hold me down, to make me fret, to make me frown. I had strings, but now I’m free. There are no strings on me.”
I thought I was singing under my breath, but Exmac turned to Butch to ask, “Is he always like this?”
“For as long as I’ve known him, yeah.”
“If you guys don’t think pinocchio jokes are appropriate while in the mouth of a giant sand worm, I just feel sorry for you,” I told them perfunctorily.
“Death Worm,” said Exmac
“Huh?”
“We’re in a Mongolian Death Worm. It’s a similar, but legally distinct creature.”
“I’m pretty sure Purgatory is outside the jurisdiction of most copyright laws.”
“I wouldn’t be if I were you,” Exmac warned, “All the major studios have branch offices out here.”
I shook my head, “Spoilsport. So how long are we going to have to stay inside Butch’s mom?”
I got a laugh out of Babs with that one, which also served to get Butch’s murderous look directed at her instead of me.
As it turned out, the answer to my question was about five more seconds. I felt the tongue under me attempt to spell out the alphabet as it broke the surface and shuddered to a halt.
My anxiety kicked into high gear as the maw began to open. I had been wrong, the distant music we had heard before was not a heavenly plea for redemption. Pounding electronic dance music poured in from the worm’s mouth and the undulating tongue unceremoniously pushed us out.
I landed in a superhero pose on the hard packed sand, my cloak swirling around me impressively. Babs gracefully stepped off the tongue and grinned down at me.
“Having fun?” she asked.
“I think I might still be drunk on virgin blood,” I told her. I looked around as the others clamored out of the worm’s mouth. I had been all wrong about Purgatory. I was expecting penitence, monotonous forms of torture, people praying for salvation maybe. Instead I saw large tents set up in rows forming semicircles several miles long. Humans and monsters in an eclectic array of costumes rode bicycles and scooters along dusty roads. Grotesquely decorated buses blasted music as crowds hung out of the windows, drinking and dancing. In the center of the desert area surrounded by the tent circles, a large sculpture of a stick figure glowed softly in the scorching daylight.
“Welcome to Purgatory,” Butch murmured.

I guess in order to combat power creep and not dictate the meta so directly, instead of buffing skill gems, GGG has taken the stance of providing temporary player power via league specific mechanics:

I'd say this league has by far the most temporary power on offer, in the form of charms (outside of a few Crucible outliers). If we look at what I get from charms+TWWT, it's pretty damn insane:

It feels like I'm lying listing all this shit and reading it over. But it's no exaggeration; that's what I get from charms+TWWT.

Looking forward to next league and seeing what kind of temporary power there is to play around with. Took me a while to catch on and become excited for that instead of being bummed about no skill gem balancing.

Well, we got nothing in Necropolis, so what a fool I was. Maybe this is a shift away from the philosophy of the past 5-6 leagues, and the Archmage adjustment is an attempt to hit nostalgia and represent targeted buffs/changes going forward.
I'm skeptical of that though. I think the Haunted mods just really missed the mark. They are trash. The only ones that stuck out to me were the mana per int and the life reservation.
Haunted Mods being underwhelming is doubly noticeable when it comes to temporary power, because they already take up existing affix slots. The only opportunity cost from previous league temporary power was losing some attributes from tattoos.
Seems like a bit of a test. 4 clusters on the Atlas Tree involving the league mech. Watered down tattoos making their reappearance. New content in t17s. Maybe they wanted to gauge what the base game was like without the temporary power of recent leagues.
