Any Advice: Old Dryer won't start

2024.05.11 22:32 WaldorfStatlerJr Any Advice: Old Dryer won't start

Really old dryer. Stopped working a few days ago. Cleaned the vents which were just crazy full of compact dust.
I put it all together and it worked for like three for rounds. After that, it will ONLY start if I unplugg it and let it rest for 24 hrs after each use.
Maytag Model No: MDG9306AWW
I was able to find the manual online but not much help.
Any advice most welcome. I am a total newbie when it comes to this but I would love to fix it. Would hate spending a bunch of money to get something new with a ton of stupid features and smart sensors.

Should I buy this $30 Maytag dryer?
I can buy this Maytag Neptune dryer from a guy for $30, this dryer is 20+ years old and I wonder if it is worth it? And BIFL?.
And Yes, I'm going to completely renovate it and clean it of course, and the maytag still seems to be working.

2024.05.06 16:00 shooky930309 How much to negotiate with seller for the list of repairs

Hello,
I'm in the process of buying a house in Flower Mound, Texas. The house was built in 1998 and only one owner has occupied it since it was built. The owner recently passed away and the estate is selling the house. Because the owner passed, there was no Seller's Disclosure completed. I had the house inspected and found a number of issues, which I had posted here on a different post. I got a structural engineer to come check out the tilting of the house, and also a foundation specialist. If repair is needed then I will get an estimate which is easy to present to the seller. But since I'm a first time home buyer, I don't know how much I should negotiate for the remainder of issues.
Can you guys provide some advice on how much I should negotiate with these issues? Keep mind if foundation repair is needed I need to add that cost as well.
FYI, the accepted offer is already $12,000 above the listing price, and there were 2 other offers for the house, as a reference. One offer was not considered at all since it was really low, and the other was close so we went up 2K to make it 12K and got the offer accepted.
  1. FOUNDATION
a. On the left side of the house, multiple post tension cables were visible and rusted – cable ends must be sealed to prevent further damage to the foundation.
  1. Grading and Drainage
a. Drainage positioned toward the foundation – needs to be sloped away from the house and at least 6 feet from the foundation. These areas must be regraded to improve drainage near the foundation. (Rear right, front left and front right side of the house – see pictures 1, 2, and 3)
b. Drainage lacks splash blocks and downspout extensions at the rear of the house. These should be extended at least 4 to 6 feet away from the foundation. (See pictures 6, 7, and 8)
  1. Roof
a. Repair damaged shingles with granular loss at the rear side of the house.
b. Tree limbs hanging near the roof at the front side of the house should be trimmed.
c. Gutters are full of debris and must be cleaned.
  1. Walls (Interior and Exterior)
a. Gap on the exterior wall on the rear side of the house needs to be sealed (see picture)
b. Cracks at the brick veneer exterior walls in some areas need to be repaired (see picture)
c. Brick veneer exterior wall had separate or missing mortar at multiple locations. Must be repointed.
  1. Ceilings and Floors
a. Kitchen floor tiles are not well bound, and some are observed to be cracked.
b. Common cracked tape joints on the ceilings – repair is needed.
c. The hallway bathroom caulking near bathtub is separated – repair is needed.
  1. Doors
a. The door to the garage in the laundry room is missing self-closing hinges.
b. Master bathroom door has a damaged door stop.
c. The bottom of the garage door seal is too short and is not covering the entire door frame – daylight was visible with the door closed. Replacement is needed.
  1. Windows
a. The windows in the dining room have a broken seal and moisture and discoloration is present between the glass panes. Repair is needed.
  1. Fireplace and Chimneys
a. The fireplace is missing the damper – installation is required
b. The fireplace is inoperative – the pilot light can be turned on manually, but the switch did not respond and the fireplace cannot be turned on.
  1. Electrical Systems
a. Gas pipe bonding wire is missing at the gas meter.
b. Smoke detectors/Carbon monoxide detectors are not installed in the laundry room. Smoke/CO detectors throughout the house are very old and need replacement. Safety hazard.
c. Electrical receptacles in the home were observed to be lack of found fault circuit interrupter device protection in multiple locations. This is a safety hazard and repair is required.
  1. The switch for the ceiling light in the kitchen is inaccessible due to the refrigerator – relocation of the wall switch by an electrician is required.
  2. Heating, AC, Ventilation
a. The indoor evaporator coil housing has air leaks in some areas – need to be corrected.
b. The condensate float switch is recommended to be installed in the secondary drain to avoid water damage.
  1. Duct Systems, Chases and Vents
a. One of the flexible duct lines was sagging and not well supported. This should be corrected.
  1. Plumbing
a. The toilet in the master bathroom was not well secured to the floor and it was wobbly. Needs to be fixed.
b. One of the master bathroom sinks was clogged (drained very slowly).
c. Exhaust flue pipes for the water heater in the attic were poorly connected with duct tapes – this needs to be repaired.
d. No sediment trap was installed at the water heater.
e. The combustion exhaust flue pipe for the water heater in the attic had inadequate clearance from combustibles. This requires 1-inch clearance from combustible materials. The insulation shield constructed of not less than 26-gauge sheet metal should be installed at the location where the flue pipe passes through insulation materials to provide clearance between the flue pipe and insulation materials. This is a FIRE HAZARD and needs to be corrected.
f. Metallic gas pipes and fittings located outdoors are missing corrosion protection. Needs coating or wrapping.
  1. Appliances, Exhaust Vents
a. Exhaust fan for the bathroom is venting into the attic – the vent pipe should go outside and not into the attic.
b. The dryer exhaust vent pipe was not equipped with a damper at the vent’s outlet cover – this is deficient installation and presents a FIRE HAZARD. Repair is needed.
  1. Landscape/Sprinklers
a. The sprinkler valve box had a missing cover – this must be installed to avoid freezing damage on the sprinkler valve and the water pipe line
b. The wire conduit for the sprinkler system control on the left side of the house is broken – this needs to be repaired.
c. Sprinkler head missing in zone 2, and due to such, it was not working as designed. Repair required.
  1. Others
a. Wood fence needs sealants, and one of the wood panels is loose and not securely installed.
b. The concrete walkway in front of the house has a visible crack.
c. Fire ants are found at the rear of the house – pest control required.

2024.05.05 21:33 DirectorOpen851 Recommendation: Juicer as soy/nut milk strainer?

Hi all! First timer researching into juicer and I want to get some sanity check/recommendations from folk. Please help recommend some juicers with the following criteria:
  1. Juicer has a fine filter mesh or can be used for straining liquids from purée.
  2. Juicer can extract liquid relatively well and produce dryer pulps.
  3. Juicer process substances fast.
  4. Heat during juicing is a non-issue.
  5. Weak blending power is okay as the substance is already liquified from prior blending.
  6. Ideally under $50-$100 or can be sourced well from second-hand markets (see below)
For anyone interested in the background, here’s the story:
To start, I’m a team blender. I have a vitamix blender and I use it for most of blending/juicing tasks as I normally don’t mind pulps. However as I started to make soy milk at home I’ve looked into fast and economical ways to strain it. I’ve tried both using nut milk bags and French press filter to manually filter out the pulp from blended substances. Both of them require some effort to extract all juice out so I want to see if there are easier ways to do. This is when I discovered the wonderful world of juicers.
I think the idea of extracting the liquid out from the pulped soy milk by centrifuge or squeezing sounds promising, but there’s no way to validate it until I actually try. I don’t want to shell out a good fortune on juicers since I don’t see myself using it other than straining, so I turned to Facebook marketplace for used juicers.
For whatever reason I see a plethora of Breville Fountain Juicers available on fb marketplace dirt cheap around CAD $30~$50 around my area. But they seem to be the older models as opposed to the new “COLD” models. Breville fountain COLD is priced around $100. I think I’m fine with older models as long as the filter is solid. I also see some slow juicers from AICOK, kitchen Aid and Omega.
If you’re an owner of any of the above machines feel free to chime in. Otherwise please let me know if you have any other recommendations.

I've recently upgraded my 8-lug, two-and-a-half ton truck to these stylish OE Wheels 16 inch rims. I'm absolutely thrilled with the polished aluminum finish; these wheels have transformed the appearance of my vehicle! Not only do they look fantastic, but they've also made maintenance a lot easier. The wheels' overall craftsmanship is top-notch, and the center caps, although not included, are easily swapped with the factory ones.
What I find particularly appealing about these wheels is that they are designed for durability and performance. The wheels' 16-inch size combined with a width of 6.5-inch ensures a comfortable, sturdy ride. The 28 mm offset and 4.85 back spacing also contribute significantly to the vehicle's handling and stability. The one downside to these rims is the fact that they don't come with the center caps. However, this is a minor inconvenience that can be easily solved by using the factory center caps.
Overall, I'm incredibly happy with my decision to invest in these OE Wheels 16 inch rims. Not only do they enhance the visual appeal of my truck, but they also contribute to its overall performance and handling. If you're looking to upgrade your truck's rims, I highly recommend giving these a shot!

These Fittipaldi Off-Road FA19 black rims are a head-turner on the road. I recently upgraded my GMC Sierra with these beauties and boy, did it make a difference! The 8x165.1 (8x6.5") bolt pattern fits perfectly on my SRW truck, and it looks just as good on the Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, Yukon XL, Dodge RAM, and Nissan NV series trucks. The FA19-20128165N44B style is a sleek black finish that suits my taste perfectly.
The first thing I noticed about these rims is how solid they feel. They're not too heavy to slow me down, but they're definitely sturdy enough to give me peace of mind when I'm driving off-road. The only downside I found was that I needed a lift kit to accommodate them, but that's a minor inconvenience compared to how great my truck looks now.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with my Fittipaldi Off-Road FA19 black rims. They've given my truck a new lease on life, and I can't wait to show them off on my next adventure.

I recently got a chance to try out the Gear Off-Road 772B Black Wheel 20x9 18mm 8x6.5 (8x165.1) and let me tell you, it was quite an experience. These wheels are designed for the ultimate off-roader. I had the chance to test them out on some pretty rugged trails and they performed incredibly well.
The first thing that stood out to me was the durability of these wheels. They're made with high-grade alloys, which means they're strong yet lightweight. This is perfect for anyone looking to optimize their vehicle's performance on tough terrains. The wheels also come with a range of cutting-edge designs, making them not only durable but also stylish.
One feature that I really appreciated was how resistant the finish is to peeling, chipping, and corrosion. This means that these wheels not only look good but also maintain their appearance over time. Another highlight was how easy they were to install. The kit that comes with them is very user-friendly and their compatibility with various tire brands means you can customize your setup exactly how you want it.
However, one minor con would be that due to their size and weight, they might not be suitable for everyone's vehicle. It's always important to check compatibility before making a purchase. But overall, I was very impressed with the Gear Off-Road 772B Black Wheel. It definitely added a level of excitement and thrill to my off-road adventures.

🔗17" XD Hoss II Cast Aluminum Wheels for 8-Lug Vehicles

As a proud owner of the XD XD829 Hoss II 8x170 17x9 -12 Gloss Black wheels, I can confidently say that they have added an extra touch of elegance and style to my vehicle. Their cast aluminum construction boasts durability while still being lightweight, making them suitable for both on-road and off-road adventures.
One feature that really stands out is the black machined finish, which adds a unique and contemporary appearance to your ride. Not only do these wheels look great, but they also boast excellent sturdiness and durability, ensuring that they can withstand even the toughest conditions.
However, there is one aspect that could use some improvement - the rusting of bolts after just a few months of use. This was a significant issue for me, as it caused considerable inconvenience and added expenses. Overall, despite this setback, I am still quite satisfied with my investment in these stylish and sturdy wheels.
In terms of compatibility, the XD Hoss II Series wheels are designed to fit various vehicle models, making it easy to find a suitable match for your vehicle. So if you're in the market for a set of high-quality wheels that combine style, strength, and affordability, I would definitely recommend giving the XD XD829 Hoss II 8x170 17x9 -12 Gloss Black wheels a closer look.

I recently purchased an 8x16 342B black Daytona wheel from Pacer, and I must say, it's been quite an adventure. The first thing that caught my eye was the striking appearance - these wheels are definitely eye-catching. Another positive aspect is the impressive range of vehicle types that Pacer caters to with their wheels. I have a vehicle that requires eight-lug wheels, and it was easy to find a suitable match in Pacer's extensive collection.
However, my experience with this particular wheel hasn't been entirely smooth. Firstly, assembling it was a bit challenging due to some uneven edges on the rim. Additionally, the wheels did not come with center caps or valve stems, which was a minor inconvenience.
On the flip side, I must commend Pacer for their quick response to customer feedback. The company has been working to address and rectify the issues mentioned by other reviewers. If you're in the market for aftermarket wheels, it's worth considering the Pacer 16x8 Daytona, but be prepared for some minor assembly issues and remember that additional components may need to be purchased separately. Overall, I give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars.

I recently had the pleasure of trying out the Fuel D696 Covert 18x9 8x6.5 1mm Bronze Wheel on my off-road vehicle, and I must say, it's truly a game-changer. From the moment I unboxed it, I could see the craftsmanship that went into its design - every detail was thoughtfully considered and executed with precision.
One of the first things that struck me about these wheels was how well they fit my vehicle. They were designed using innovative technology, ensuring a perfect fit and seamless integration with my truck's suspension system. As someone who loves customizing their ride, this is an essential feature for me.
Another highlight of these wheels is their aesthetic appeal. The combination of the sleek design, bold color, and unique patterns creates a stunning visual effect that's sure to turn heads wherever you go. Plus, they're built to withstand even the toughest terrains, so you can enjoy their looks without worrying about durability.
However, there were a few minor drawbacks. The first was the shipping time, which took longer than expected. Additionally, the installation process was a bit more complicated than I initially anticipated, requiring extra tools and effort.
All in all, the Fuel D696 Covert 18x9 8x6.5 1mm Bronze Wheel is an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their off-road vehicle. Its innovative design, perfect fitment, and striking appearance make it a standout option among the competition. Just be prepared for a slightly longer waiting period and a potentially challenging installation process.

I must admit, I never thought a set of wheels could make such a difference to my ride. But after trying out KMC's Grenade Crawl 20" inch wheel rims, I'm a complete convert. Not only do they give my truck a sleek, bold look that demands attention on the road, but their sturdiness is truly impressive.
One thing about these wheels that truly stands out is their ability to stay as sharp as a freshly edged knife, no matter how rough the terrain. Whether I'm cruising on asphalt or tackling off-road trails, they always deliver reliable performance.
However, one minor issue I faced was with the installation process. While KMC provides detailed instructions, I found it quite challenging due to the complex design of these wheels. Despite this minor inconvenience, the final result made it all worth it.
Overall, if you're looking for a set of wheels that are not just stylish but also pack a punch in terms of durability and performance, KMC's Grenade Crawl 20" inch wheel rims are definitely worth considering.

I've always been a fan of customizing my ride with high-quality aftermarket parts. So, when I got a chance to try out the XD XD858 Tension 8x170 22x10 -18 Chrome wheels, I was excited. Right out of the box, the first thing I noticed was the sleek design. These wheels set the limit to 11, and this definitely isn't for the average Joe! The chrome finish definitely adds a touch of sophistication to my truck, and it surely stands out from the rest on the road.
However, like any other product, there are some cons to consider. The initial quality control wasn't the best, as three of my rims had incomplete powder coat, which led to a scratched surface. This was a letdown, but I hope that the brand will address this in the future.
Overall, the XD XD858 Tension wheels are a great choice for those who are ready to push the boundaries of style, fitment, and finish. If the brand can work on improving their quality control, I'm confident that these wheels will be a game-changer in the custom automotive world.

That's when I came across the Ion 171 17x9 0 8x165.1 Matte Black wheels. These wheels are the perfect blend of strength and weight savings, making them a reliable choice for any driver.
From the moment I installed them on my truck, I was blown away by their sleek appearance. The matte black finish adds a touch of sophistication to any vehicle, while the center cap included with each wheel is a nice addition. What truly impressed me, however, was the performance that these wheels offered. They are lightweight yet incredibly sturdy, making them a great choice for both off-roading and everyday driving.
One aspect that I particularly appreciated about the Ion Alloy Wheels is the variety of finishes available. Regardless of what color your truck may be, there's a finish to suit your style and provide a perfect match.

Okay, so I've been using these 768B wheels from Gear's Off-Road collection on my truck for a couple of months now. I must say, these wheels add a fresh, unique touch to my ride. Their traditional 8 mesh design with updated details creates quite a bold and imposing look, while the drop down and tapered surfacing gives them an aggressive stance.
I love the gloss black milled finish - it adds just the right amount of flair to my truck. To be honest, I was skeptical about the wheel's durability initially, but after months of off-roading, I can confidently say that these wheels are as tough as they come. They've held up beautifully, even on the toughest terrains.
However, one issue I've encountered is the initial installation. I'm no mechanic, but even I struggled with some parts of the process. But once they were on, their quality became evident.
Overall, I'm really happy with these wheels. They've definitely given my truck a bold, off-road ready look and have performed exceptionally well on the road. If you're looking to upgrade your wheels, I would definitely recommend checking out these Gear Off-Road Wheels.

I recently got myself an XD XD846 Double Deuce 8x170 20x10 -18 Satin Black with Dark Tint, and let me tell you, it's been quite the game-changer for my truck! The first thing that caught my eye was its sleek satin black finish, but what truly impressed me was its one-piece design, crafted from lightweight and sturdy aluminum.
One feature that really stood out was the barrel with a riveted lip, giving off a unique visual vibe while also ensuring durability. Driving my truck with these on felt smoother and more efficient than ever before, thanks to the benefits of aluminum's light weight. Plus, the fact that they don't rust just adds to their longevity.

2024.04.29 09:41 SensualLemon Maytag dryer timer not counting down and overheating

Model is Maytag MED5630HC. Recently the dryer had blown its thermal fuse because it had gotten too hot and ran too long. I thought that was just coincidence, just got a house and the previous owners left the washer and dryer. So I went ahead and replaced the thermal fuse. At the same time I used a multimeter to test the thermistor and got good changes in resistance with heat applied and so I ended up not changing out the thermistor. I then ran a timed dry with no issues. Then I ran an auto cycle that said would last 57 min. I came back about an hour later and the timer had only went down to 52 min but my stuff was definitely dry and the dryer was very hot again. Is this a bad thermistor?

2024.04.28 03:27 Jamie2322 Suggestions for sauna with broken heater?

The house i live in has a nice little 2 seat sauna built into the bathroom (house was built in the 90s) The problem is that the heater doesn't work. I've checked the breakers and thats fine, and thats pretty much the extent of my electrical knowledge. I can read and follow instructions, and I have a multimeter that I managed to teach myself to use to diagnose and fix my dryer. So I'm not afraid of tackling this. But I can't even find a user manual for this model that's accurate either (saunatec / helo 1714-45-17) I find newer manuals that are supposedly for that model- but they say they have a reset button on the bottom or below the thermostat, but this doesn't, so I obviously don't expect anything else to be accurate. I can't find a year on it anywhere, but I know it was built in with the house. I don't own the home, and not trying to bother the homeowner (2nd owner) with it, they said they never used it so they have no idea. So are there any suggestions for being able to use that nice quiet cedar space without replacing/fixing the built in heater? I was super excited about it and figure there has to be a way to get it hot and/or steamy safely?

🔗Efficient Powder Actuated Gun for Fastening

https://preview.redd.it/5v4p3n6zu5wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a88e995ed06d8c8d423662d5f73eb58a5d63650c
During one of my weekend DIY projects, I stumbled across the Ramset Mastershot. 22 Cal Single Shot Powder Actuated Tool. It was mentioned in the project instructions, and I was curious to try it out for myself. My toolbox contains many different hammers and nail guns, but this one seemed very different.
The Mastershot is designed for fastening concrete, masonry, or steel surfaces, and it certainly lived up to that. The low velocity and single shot actuation made it perfect for the job. While it required some time to get used to the process, once I did, it was quite efficient.
One of the most impressive features of this tool is the silencing handle. Many DIY enthusiasts know all too well the constant buzz of power tools, so the Mastershot is a welcome addition to my toolbox. Its quiet operation allowed me to work on my project without disturbing my neighbors.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks I encountered with the tool. It has a gritty feel when first used, which required me to take some extra time to clean and lube up the internals. Another potential issue I noticed is that it may jam after a while. Despite these minor setbacks, I have found the tool to be very reliable and durable, with a solid build that is sure to last for many projects.
Overall, the Ramset Mastershot is a fantastic addition to any DIY enthusiast's toolbox. Its unique design and features make it invaluable for a variety of tasks, and it's impressive how well it silences the noise so often associated with power tools. Though it does have some drawbacks, these are minor compared to the overall value this tool presents.

🔗Comprehensive Remington Gun Cleaning Kit for High-Caliber Shooters

As a new muzzleloader owner, I was thrilled to receive this Traditions Load It/Shoot It/Clean It Kit as a gift. It was the perfect starting kit for me, packed with everything I needed to get started on my hunting adventures and get acquainted with my new firearm.
One of the highlights of this kit was the instructional DVD. It provided invaluable guidance on muzzleloader maintenance and safety tips, ensuring a smooth learning experience for a newcomer like me. The DVD was easy to follow and presented the information in a clear and engaging manner.
Additionally, the EZ Clean solvent was a great inclusion, as it made the cleaning process as straightforward and hassle-free as it could be. The accompanying brushes and patches ensured that my firearm was thoroughly cleaned and took care of in no time.
While I generally had a positive experience with this kit, there were a few small drawbacks. One of the things I noticed was that a few of the tools included didn't quite fit or interchange with some parts from my muzzleloader. This wasn't a deal-breaker, but it did limit the versatility and interchangeability of the components.
Despite the minor drawbacks, I felt that this Traditions Load It/Shoot It/Clean It Kit was an excellent starting point for anyone looking to dive into the world of muzzleloader hunting. The comprehensive range of tools and resources provided made it an invaluable resource for newcomers like me, and the instructional DVD and solvent were particularly helpful in getting to know my new firearm. All in all, I'd highly recommend this kit for anyone looking to get started with muzzleloader hunting.

I've been using the Real Avid AR15 Armorer's Master Kit Pro for a while now, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer. As someone who enjoys tinkering with their guns, this kit has everything I need - and more. The heavy-duty armorers torque wrench and set of AR15 pin punches paired with the armorers hammer make it easy to assemble or repair my firearms. The task-specific crowfoot wrenches cover all the common nuts used in AR15 assembly, so I know I have the right tool for every job.
What really stands out is the comprehensive set of tools housed in a convenient professional case. No more digging through drawers for lost parts or searching for the right wrench - this kit has it all! And to top it off, the step-by-step instructional book included in the kit is a fantastic resource for beginners.
Of course, there are a few things that could be better. For instance, the price point is a bit steep for some. But when you consider the quality and variety of tools in this kit, it's clear that you're getting your money's worth. Overall, I'd highly recommend the Real Avid AR15 Armorer's Master Kit Pro to anyone looking to upgrade their firearm tools collection.

🔗Grex Tritium Micro Spray Gun Set for Precision Jobs

In my experience, the Grex Tritium. TS Micro Spray Gun Set has been a game-changer for precision spraying, spot repairs, and touch-ups. The side-fed trigger-style design allows for minimal overspray even in tight spaces, making it ideal for my painting projects.
One of the most impressive features of this micro spray gun set is its quick-fit needle caps for ease of setup and removal, which saves me a significant amount of time. The cutting-edge design from Grex offers precise control of fine detailed work, and it comes with all the popular accessories I need, including two cups (15 ml & 125 ml), a 10 ft nylon braided hose, a G-MAC 1/4"F adapter, and a fine-tune regulator.
However, there's one downside – the equipment requires a respirator for use, which can be inconvenient and may need to be sourced separately. Despite this minor drawback, the Grex Tritium. TS Micro Spray Gun Set is a top-of-the-line, high-performance option for those looking for the best in precision spraying and touch-ups.

I recently discovered the powder coating system, and I must say, it has been both a pleasant and frustrating experience. On one hand, the gun was surprisingly easy to use, and I was able to achieve a smooth, even finish on various projects like car parts and metal furniture. The fact that it's more durable than conventional paint is a definite plus.
However, there were some drawbacks too. Firstly, I found the weight of the gun to be a little overwhelming, making it quite challenging to maintain a steady hand while using it. Additionally, the cleanup process was a bit messy, and I had to invest in an air dryer to prevent any powder clumps from forming.
Overall, I'm glad I tried the powder coating system, but I think it could have some improvements in terms of both build quality and user-friendliness. For those looking for a durable and unique finish on their DIY projects, this could be the perfect tool. Just be prepared for a little trial and error along the way.

I recently tried out the Grizzly H8208 Air Tool Kit in my daily life and it has become a solid part of my toolbox. I was initially drawn to it for its 50-piece variety, which includes a diverse range of tools that covered my needs perfectly.
One of the standout features of this kit is its power. It truly lives up to its name, providing quick and efficient results for various projects. I've used it for everything from flattening concrete to working on grain trailers, and it always gets the job done. The toolkit is also quite reliable, with its durable and long-lasting components ensuring that it remains effective over time.
However, I also faced a minor issue with an o-ring in the inline lubricator at 90 psi. It might have been my own fault, but it's something I needed to be aware of to prevent potential damage. Additionally, I found that a few attachments didn't fit snugly in the case, causing them to fall out each time I opened it.
Overall, the Grizzly H8208 Air Tool Kit offers great value for money and is perfect for both seasoned professionals and beginners. With its powerful tools and reliable design, it's a starter kit any handy person would love to have.

🔗Black Bull 50 lbs Portable Abrasive Blaster Kit for Easy Cleaning and Refreshing

https://preview.redd.it/5mqa55m1v5wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e6a01790db3a40fc22d4eef13a34a8fa4950af7
I recently tried out the Black Bull PAB50, a portable abrasive blaster kit that promised to remove paint, rust, scale, and oxidation from various surfaces. I was impressed by its 50 lb abrasive media capacity, which allowed me to tackle a variety of small jobs both at home and in the workshop.
However, the siphon feed design wasn't as efficient as I hoped, making the flow of abrasive material less than ideal. It would have been great if it managed the flow more smoothly. Nevertheless, the Black Bull PAB50 was convenient to use and provided a nice level of control over the blasting process. With just one ceramic nozzle included, it might be worth considering additional nozzles for different grit ratings. Overall, this blaster kit has the potential to be a useful tool for those needing to remove stubborn layers of paint and rust.

🔗Powder Coating System Machine with Tank Spray Paint System 550g/min Wx-101 DIY

Honestly, using this VEVOR Powder Coating System Machine has been a game-changer for my art projects. The stainless steel materials used make it incredibly durable, and it's easy to move around my workspace. The wide application of this machine and the even finish it provides are true highlights for this product.
However, it could use a bit more user-friendly control panel. I felt like I spent a bit too much time figuring things out at times. But overall, this Powder Coating System is a fantastic tool if you're looking for a user-friendly and efficient way to add a touch of magic to your creations.

🔗VEVOR Electrostatic Powder Coating Machine with 45L Capacity and Spray Gun Paint

https://preview.redd.it/dpiqr5g2v5wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30c828aae8cd19b21f6da08980f92b5a69d83028
I've been using the VEVOR Powder Coating Machine for a few weeks now, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer for my DIY projects at home. This machine is perfect for giving my home appliances and furniture a professional look without breaking the bank.
One of the features that stood out to me was the ease of use. The control panel made it simple to adjust the powder amount, atomization, and cleaning. The powder itself was smooth and sprayed evenly, giving my projects a great, uniform finish.
The stainless steel powder bucket was a nice touch, as it both durable and easy to maintain. The mobile push-pull wheel design also made it incredibly easy to move the machine around my workshop, saving me time and effort.
However, there were a few downsides to the experience. I found that the manual powder coating gun could be a bit heavy to use for long periods of time, and getting the gun to the right angle for certain projects was challenging at times.
Overall, though, I've been really impressed with the VEVOR Powder Coating Machine. It's been a valuable addition to my home workshop and has helped me achieve professional-looking results with ease.

🔗Extreme Powder Performance for Competitive Shooting

I recently tried out the Hodgdon Varget 8lb. Can, and wow, it exceeded my expectations! This powder is a game-changer for any shooter looking for accuracy, higher scores, and one-shot kills. The small, extruded grains not only provide uniform metering but are also insensitive to temperature changes.
What really stood out to me was its ability to produce higher energy for improved velocities, burning clean and quick. This results in superb accuracy and a noticeable difference in performance compared to others in its class. I've used it for competitive matches with the 223 Remington, as well as in popular cartridges like the 308 Winchester, 30-06, and 375 H&H, and it performs flawlessly in all of them.
However, there's always a downside, and in this case, the Varget can seem a bit pricey compared to other powders. But, if you're serious about your shooting goals and want the best possible performance, it's definitely worth the investment. I highly recommend giving the Hodgdon Varget 8lb. Can a try – you won't be disappointed!

As a recent user of the Central Pneumatic Professional 2 Piece HVLP Spray Gun Kit, I can say that I was quite impressed with the ease of use and overall performance of these guns. The lightweight aluminum construction made for comfortable handling, while the stainless steel needles and tips provided a durable, high-quality finish.
However, one thing I noticed was the occasional leak from the gun causing unwanted paint drips. It was a minor issue, but it would be nice if the manufacturer could address this issue in future versions.
Overall, I found the spray guns easy to set up and clean, and they performed well for my various painting projects, both small-scale woodworking and automotive paint jobs.

🔗Efficient 4-Tool Pneumatic Framing & Finishing Combo Kit

https://preview.redd.it/l7i5lfn3v5wc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=035704e80ec48458994ab0785fbd3a9e92e5f05a
I had the pleasure of using Freeman's Pneumatic Framing and Finishing 4-Tool Combo Kit, a handy tool set for all your woodworking needs. With its anodized aluminum magazines, I found that it held up well during my DIY projects, eliminating the need to constantly replenish nails. The anodized aluminum cylinder also impressed me as it provided a durable surface when the piston was firing and retracting, leading to less wear on internal parts.
In terms of ease of use, the finger depth adjustment was a game changer for me, as it allowed me to set nails to my desired depths with the touch of a finger. And with the quick jam release feature, I was able to minimize downtime when dealing with jams – something I can appreciate when working on tight deadlines.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks to using this tool kit. For one, I found that it was a bit on the heavy side, which made it a bit cumbersome to carry around for extended periods. Additionally, while the Teflon O-rings helped to reduce wear and tear on internal parts, I couldn't help but feel that the quality of the tool kit itself was lacking in certain areas.
Overall, the Freeman Pneumatic Framing and Finishing 4-Tool Combo Kit proved to be a handy and efficient addition to my DIY tool kit, but there is definitely room for improvement in terms of weight and overall quality.

A few weeks ago, I found myself immersed in the world of Black Powder Long Arms & Pistols by Dennis Adler. This beautifully bound hardback book is a true gem in the world of reproduction and replica firearms. As a history enthusiast with an affinity for black powder, I found the information in this book to be both engaging and enlightening.
What stood out to me the most was the sheer comprehensiveness of the content. The book covers not only the history and manufacturing of these firearms but also the evolution of their designs over the years. The images of the weapons are incredibly detailed and vivid, making it a treat for the eyes as well.
However, as with any book, there are minor cons that I had to contend with. While it's undeniably a great read, the text can be dense at times, making it a more challenging read for those who are not as familiar with the topic. Despite this, I found that the passion and knowledge the author brings to the table makes it all worthwhile.
Overall, Black Powder Long Arms & Pistols: Reproductions & Replicas is a must-have for anyone with an interest in black powder history or firearm collecting. It's a great investment that I believe will not only help enhance my understanding of these fascinating weapons but also serve as a beautiful addition to any library or coffee table collection.

We picked up this fridge at the DFW Lowe's outlet store, marked down by 75% because of a smallish dent in the bottom front of the free
We absolutely love it. Quiet, nice looking, temps are good, good lighting, etc. I wouldn't have paid full price for it, because $3600 is automobile territory for us :-) but at $900 plus tax I'm very very happy.
Now ... I want to find out if anyone here has ever removed the freezer door skin as a DIY project. I'd like to massage that dent out but not at the risk of damaging the door.
I've done a lot of repairs and creations myself. I've torn down and rebuilt several washers and dryers from the Maytag Neptune generation and newer, refurb'd two rescued Kitchenaid dishwashers that are now doing yeoman's duty in our kitchen, but I'm just a little gunshy on this one since we spent so long shopping and I don't want to make it worse.

🔗Boat Leaning Post with 4 Rod Holders

https://preview.redd.it/plpk7zvc5suc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=626d9b407986bbb184fe5aa98c8d626d5b08fb3f
As a fishing enthusiast, I know the importance of having the right equipment on board. Recently, I installed the Dolphin T Tops 29" Leaning Post Bench Seat onto my center console boat and it's been a game-changer.
The heavy-duty anodized aluminum provides durability while the integrated 4 rod holders give me ample space to store all my fishing gear. The comfortable marine-grade vinyl cushions are made of foam and PVC board substrate, ensuring both comfort and longevity. Plus, the installation was a breeze, taking less than an hour to mount.
The only downside? . While it's designed to fit most boats, it wasn't quite perfect for my specific model so I had to make a few minor adjustments.
Overall, though, this leaning post is a solid investment for any angler seeking to upgrade their fishing boat.

🔗Neptune III Leaning Post with Backrest and Storage

https://preview.redd.it/ez4ewged5suc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1568426667c8877dfb928056e38d6550ff2f17b
I recently installed the Taco Neptune III Leaning Post on my 20-footer center console boat, and boy, has it been a game-changer. The first thing that caught my eye was the smooth, UV-resistant marine-grade vinyl upholstery. It's not only comfortable but also super stylish, making my boat stand out even more!
One of the features I appreciate most about this leaning post is the folding footrest. It's perfect for those days when I need a little extra support while we're out on the water. Additionally, there are four aluminum rod holders included, which has been so helpful in holding multiple rods securely while we're trolling or just relaxing on the water.
However, the installation process was a bit challenging, especially trying to match the seat cushion with the backrest. I wish it came with a more straightforward instruction manual or possibly even a video tutorial to make the process smoother.
Overall, the Taco Neptune III Leaning Post has been quite the addition to my boating experience. Its sleek design, durability, and practical features make it an excellent investment for any boat owner looking to up their fishing game or just enjoy a more comfortable ride on the open water.

🔗Durable Multi-Functional Boat Leaning Post

https://preview.redd.it/7m6hzcnd5suc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db1a5690f835e1fe4125a5c4fa17517cc40f29fd
I recently installed the Taco Neptune II Leaning Post on my 23-foot pontoon boat, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The anodized aluminum construction ensures durability and adds a nice polished finish to the leaning post. I especially like the folding footrest, which is sturdy and can support up to 300 lbs, allowing me to relax and enjoy the ride while still keeping my foot on the pedal.
One of the standout features for me is the adjustable aluminum rod holders. As an avid angler, being able to position my rods just right makes a world of difference, especially when battling a stubborn fish. I also appreciate the convenience of the removable storage for tackle and gear, which helps me keep my boat more organized.
The installation process was a breeze, thanks to the easy bolt-down design. Even though the instructions are meant for a different model, I was able to figure out the assembly without any issues. I also like how mildew, fungus, and UV-resistant the leaning post is, ensuring that it will maintain its quality appearance for years to come.
However, there's one aspect that could be improved upon. While the leaning post is comfortable for shorter boat rides, it can feel a bit hard after extended periods of time. Adding a cushioned backrest would definitely increase the level of comfort and make this already great leaning post even better.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the Taco Neptune II Leaning Post, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and stylish addition to their smaller vessel.

🔗Dixie Fixie Stage II Jon Boat Leaning Post with Rod Holders

https://preview.redd.it/klj9qo6e5suc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65b1c1863309c76ba8cbfecaf49713d894fc537a
I recently purchased the Welding World 38" Dixie Fixie Stage II Jon Boat Leaning Post for my boat, and I must say, it's one of the best investments I've made for my fishing trips. The high visibility position and sturdy construction make it a pleasure to use, whether I'm standing or sitting.
One of the standout features for me is the ample storage provided by the two latched underseat cabinets, which hold a total of eight tackleboxes and have an integrated Yeti bottle opener. The wide and deep storage tray is also a huge plus, keeping my loose items secure and out of sight.
Another highlight worth mentioning is the incredible strength and durability of the seat's structure, which is fully welded and constructed from marine-specific materials, including StarBoard PVC and marine anodized aluminum.
However, there's one small issue I encountered - the seat is built staggered, which doesn't fit perfectly on my jon boat's aft casting platform. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall quality and functionality of the Welding World Leaning Post more than make up for it.
In conclusion, if you're looking to enhance your fishing experience with a reliable and comfortable leaning post, I highly recommend the Welding World 38" Dixie Fixie Stage II Jon Boat Leaning Post. It's a well-built and practical addition to any boat, and I'm confident it will serve you well on countless fishing adventures.

🔗Stylish Modern Multi-Functional Sleeper Sofa Bed

https://preview.redd.it/l4tx9vne5suc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e22ed4775c58d1fe78c11ee1761189f3f63e25bd
Ah, the Welding World 38" Fixie Deluxe Stage II GT Leaning Post - a true marvel of design and comfort for anyone who loves a day out on the water. I've been using this in my boat for a few months now, and I have to say, it's like sitting on a cloud in the middle of the ocean.
What really stands out to me is the incredibly comfortable seat. It's 38 inches wide and 19.5 inches deep, giving you ample space to stretch out and relax. The plush white upholstery is marine specific, so it can withstand the harsh conditions of sea spray and saltwater.
But it's not just comfort that this leaning post delivers. It comes equipped with four large rod holders, perfect for holding all your favorite fishing rods, and three deluxe cup holders to keep your refreshments close at hand. Plus, there are two sealed underseat cabinets to store tackle boxes and an attached bottle opener for convenience.
One feature that I particularly appreciate is the aluminum structure. It's strong and durable, ensuring that my leaning post will last me through many more fishing trips. And speaking of durability, the wide underseat storage tray keeps my valuables safe and dry, even during rough seas.
However, one downside to this leaning post is its size. It's quite large, which can make it a bit challenging to maneuver in smaller boats. It also requires some time to assemble, so be prepared to spend an afternoon putting everything together.
Overall, the Welding World 38" Fixie Deluxe Stage II GT Leaning Post offers exceptional comfort and practicality for serious anglers. While it may have some drawbacks in terms of size and assembly, its durability and convenience features more than make up for it. If you're looking for a top-notch leaning post that will keep you comfortable on long fishing trips, this is definitely worth considering.

Additionally, the included rod holders and storage compartment have made storage and access to fishing rods a breeze. The mounting pedestals are well-positioned too, providing solid support where needed.
Of course, it hasn't been all perfect. There was a slight learning curve in assembling the leaning post. While the instructions were clear, it took me a little while to figure out the right positioning for some parts.
All in all, Todd's 2200-35 Adjustable Leaning Post is an excellent addition to my boat, bringing comfort and support to my fishing excursions. I'd recommend it wholeheartedly to any boat owner looking to upgrade their fishing setup.

Maytag Maxima steam Dryer NOT DRYING!
I have a maytag maxima gas dryer. (Handme down) It was working for the first couple days that I got it and just yesterday it stopped working. The panel kept indicating "check lint screen" I cleaned the screen and vacuumed the inside as best as I could. I even check the vent flex tube in the back to make sure it wasn't clogged there. After trying to restart it and run a cycle the error code "01" popped up along with a green light next to good airflow indicator. Tried looking on Google for specific code or manual to my model but couldn't find anything. Any advice or help on what this may mean or what I could do to fix it before I call the pros? TYIA

2024.04.14 21:40 kyliedoesntknow Washer and dryer don’t alert to end of cycle

I have a GTW335ASN2WW washer and a GTX22EASK0WW dryer. Neither one alerts with a buzzer or sound at the end of the cycle and since they don’t have a timer screen I can’t set any other alarm.
I rent and the appliances came with the unit so I’m assuming the building or previous tenant disabled the feature, but I just want to know when my clothes are done!
I took a look at the owners manuals for both and don’t see anything in there about it at all. Any tips to turn this on would be appreciated!

The Dryer Problem: No Heat, No Dry After years of reliable service, my Kenmore 70 Series Dryer started exhibiting a peculiar issue – it simply wouldn't heat up. Despite the drum tumbling and the machine running through its cycles, the clothes remained damp and cold, leaving me wondering what could have gone wrong with this dependable appliance.
Initial Troubleshooting by the customer Attempts Being a somewhat handy individual, he decided to take matters into my own hands and try to diagnose and resolve the problem. He started by consulting the owner's manual and various online resources, which led me to replace several key components:
  1. Thermal Fuse: The thermal fuse is a safety device that cuts off the dryer's heat source if temperatures become dangerously high. I replaced it, thinking it might have tripped and caused the heating issue.
  2. Heating Element Coils: These coils are responsible for generating the heat that dries your clothes. I swapped out the old coils for new ones, hoping that would reignite the dryer's heating capabilities.
  3. High-Limit Thermostat: This thermostat is another safety component that monitors the dryer's temperature and shuts off the heat if it gets too high. I replaced it, just in case it was malfunctioning and preventing the heating process.
In addition to replacing these key components, He thoroughly cleaned out the lint trap and vent system, ensuring that any blockages or clogs weren't hindering airflow and causing heating issues.
Despite hes efforts, the Kenmore 70 Series Dryer stubbornly refused to heat up, leaving me frustrated and contemplating my next steps.
Potential Causes and Further Troubleshooting After the initial troubleshooting steps,we took a deeper look into the potential causes of the heating problem. Here are some additional factors to consider:
  1. Faulty Heating Element Relay: The heating element relay is responsible for allowing electricity to flow to the heating elements. If this relay is defective, it could prevent the heating elements from receiving power and generating heat.
  2. Wiring Issues: Loose or damaged wiring connections can also disrupt the flow of electricity to the heating elements, leading to a lack of heat.
  3. Control Board Malfunction: The dryer's control board acts as the brain of the appliance, regulating various functions, including the heating cycle. A faulty control board could be the culprit behind the heating issues.
  4. Airflow Obstructions: While I had already checked and cleaned the lint trap and vent system, it's possible that there may be other obstructions or kinks in the ductwork that could be restricting airflow and preventing the dryer from heating properly.
If you find yourself in a similar situation with your Kenmore 70 Series Dryer, it's essential to carefully inspect each of these potential problem areas before considering a replacement.
Contacting a reputable appliance repair service is often the wisest choice in such situations. Experienced technicians have the knowledge, tools, and diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the root cause of the problem accurately and efficiently. They can also advise you on whether a repair is feasible or if replacing the dryer with a new one might be the more cost-effective option in the long run.
Conclusion Dealing with a dryer that won't heat up can be a frustrating experience, but it's important to approach the problem methodically and safely. While attempting some basic troubleshooting steps can be beneficial, it's crucial to know your limits and seek professional assistance when necessary. Remember, a properly functioning dryer is essential for maintaining the integrity of your clothes and ensuring a smooth laundry routine.

2024.04.10 00:21 jmaravalhassilva Sunlu S4 Humidity Mode

I've been considering getting a Sunlu S4, and I've watched a few videos and looked at the manual, but one thing that was not entirely clear is whether its second mode, the "Humidity control mode" as it's called in the manual, gets disabled automatically after some set amount of time, or if it's possible to keep it in that mode indefinitely.
Here's a quote from the manual:
MO 1 Time control mode (shut down after countdown) MO 2 Humidity control mode (after the countdown ends, when the humidity slowly rises to 50% or the User-set humidity value, it will automatically start heating until the humidity drops to 25%)
From what I understand, the S4 goes into this hysteresis mode where it keeps the humidity in this 25-50% window after a drying cycle... There doesn't appear to be a time limit for this second mode. Could any S4 owners in here actually confirm this behavior?
In case you're curious, the reason I'm asking is because I want to also use the S4 as a dry box and be able to just "set and forget". I have one of these Sovol 2 spool dryer and I hate the fact that I'm always forgetting to close the damn lid after drying for the maximum allowed time of 12h. After a couple of days exposed to the air like that, the spools soak up enough humidity to affect print quality :c

2024.04.04 19:51 AirAlan Maytag Bravos Dryer not starting, undefined Code FU9

The Dryer, model MEDB850WR0, is getting power but not starting up after a recent power outage (not sure if related but certainly a suspect). Ruled out the Thermal Fuse and Thermistor as both test ok. The Relay on the Control Board does NOT appear to be fried. I've done the diagnostic mode and the resulting Service Code reads "FU9". I scoured the technical manual and that code does not appear anywhere. I went to the Maytag site chat and there was no help. They wouldn't even decode the code for me. They just said to call a certified technician. I highly prefer to fix it myself. The repair cost will probably be more than the cost of a used dryer to replace this. I have theories about what the "FU" part of "FU9" means, but can anyone shed any light on that Code. This model is in that circa 2010 Bravos MCT era (whirlpool similarities). Thanks in advance for any help someone can give, even a few additional part swaps to try. I'd hate to scrap the unit, since it's been solid until now.
