youtube-dl (Python) downloads videos from various sites. Just like wget you can find GUI frontend for this.
RipMe (Java) is an album ripper for various websites.

uGet (Win/Linux/OSX/Android) Has GUI.
curl (Win/Linux/OSX/...) Command line tool.
aria2 (Linux/OSX) Command line. A web-based UI is also available.
axel (Linux/OSX) Command line tool.
Rclone (Win/Linux/OSX) Command line tool. Rclone has some great commands that can list files, print remote directory size or even mount it as mountpoint. Here is a list of all commands. I recommend you to go through their entire website.
You can also use httpdirfs, which is made by a redditor who posted it here to mount the remote directory as mountpoint. It even appears to be somewhat faster than "rclone mount".

opendirectories-bot

opendirectories-bot reports (used to report?) the size along with a list of links to all files in the directory that gets posted in /opendirectories. Since it's open source you can download the bot and generate the report yourself. The git-hub repo is available here, just follow the instructions given in README.md file.

2022.01.15 03:35 klutz50 Google Search operators

Does anyone know of a good website or document explaining these Google commands? http://www.googleguide.com/advanced_operators_reference.html How to put them together and explaining the difference between inurl and -inurl? Do I put the file types in brackets, (.mkv.mp4.avi.mov.mpg.wmv) like this or does it matter? IE; intext:"chernobyl" intitle:"index.of" (wmvmpgavimp4mkvmov) -inurl:(jspplphphtmlaspxhtmcfshtml)
or
+(.mkv.mp4.avi.mov.mpg.wmv) chernobyl intitle:"index of" -inurl:(jspplphphtmlaspxhtmcfshtml)
Note; commands are in a different order. Does order mater? The above link only explains one command at a time but, apparently you can compound these commands to be more specific.
Thanks for your input...

2021.11.03 20:31 Climbatiz Google Tutorial (Parent Directory)

Climbatiz's Google Tutorial (2008.08.15) (ZORBOARD/IRC EXCLUSIVE)
"Parent Directory" -xxx -free "* hdtv.xvid" "Parent Directory" -xxx -free "* dvdrip.xvid" "Parent Directory" -xxx -free bin OR iso -cgi nfo
if i wanted to look for xxx flicks i'd just do "xxx.dvdrip.xvid" and skip the -xxx -free is a must in all searches unless what your looking for contains the word free, you can also use like -htm -html too if you get alot of hits, there is also some site called free.fr that often has some stuff on it so i sometimes skip the -free and use site:.free.fr instead "Parent Directory" is on all these sites, some ppl prefer to use "Index of" but not all dirs contain that keyword so it's better to use the PD one
can basicly just look at any scene rls and try out looking for some generic names they use to use as keywords you can also search for files that are a certain size but are renamed to just about anything like that "fangirlsplayground" site i have listed here i find those sites using the usual PD keyword + the -xxx & -free plus a bunch of other -'s like -linux and stuff like that, anyways the keyword is like:
"Parent Directory" "Index of" -xxx -free -linux "349M" 349M represents 349mb, kinda like a tvshow size, with this keyword you can use the Index Of keyword too because the sites that don't use it use a diff way or showing filesizes (theirs are in bytes) then if you get some more crap linux like results just add more -'s if you happen to go through the whole list for 349M and want to try more sizes then just like for example add: -"349M" 351M you don't want to get the same results again so you remove any sites with 349M because you've gone through all that
then there's sizes like 170 something for 20min tvshows and 697-704M or so for movies
that's about it, could also check my torrentflux "exploit" i posted some weeks ago here too, unless thread has been dumped, that is nice way to find random sites
just did a size search, found one interesting site, apart from my alot of sites with anime but there's so many of those i don't bother posting em hehe, keyword i ended up using hehe
"Parent Directory" "Index of" "176M" -xxx -free -gz -exe -zip vid OR avi -mpg -wmv -jpg -gif -mp4 -mov -rpm
btw, i just remembered there are more ways that just the PD keywords or the torrentflux thing, you can also search for like "Web statistics for *" and try same kinda scene keywords there, would recomment adding like a 2008 in there too to get latest infos, can find some nice hidden dirs with that keyword
btw also there's another PD keyword like 15000000 (so you find the sites that use the byte sizes, can try that and like 20mb files or 50mb files
anyways, if you get the hang of searching like this it gets pretty easy to figure out more useful keywords, been doing this on google soo many years now hehe :}
late edit,... the torrenflux exploit is gone off board, he's a diff one i went through earlier, took friggin forever to go through, found a couple nice sites though, will maybe post em tomorrow, really tired after this search hehe, anyways the keyword is like Google >>> intitle:torrentflux -b4rt -htm -html -free login
you can skip the -b4rt if you like but this exploit mainly works for normal tflux cuz b4rt mostly uses diff dl dir, after finding a site (first few pages with that keyword are filled with em) then remove the login.php and type ".../downloads/.torrents">, if there is a dir called this and is browsable it might have files called .stat, in this file is a username (there might be more than 1 users, so check all stat files) after finding the username then replace ".torrents" with the username, now you can dl anything that user is or has downloaded. btw b4rt sites use a dir called .transfers it's a pretty boring keyword cuz it takes so long to process one site but if you do find a site then chances are no1 else has found it ;}

2021.06.13 07:36 Smart-Animator-7876 I keep seeing intitle:"index.of and other commands but dont know what they do

Im pretty new to open directories and for the past week I have been trying to learn how it all works. I have learned that open directories are folders of files that are uploaded to a web server somewhere, and to get to them you have to put in commands like intext:"*" (avimkvmovmp4mpgwmv) -inurl:(jspplphphtmlaspxhtmcfshtml) intitle:"index.of./" ( I got this from a reddit post) But, I am still confused on how to actually use these commands. Lets just say I wanted to find the avengers movie folder using these commands. Also, lets say the avengers movie was a avi file and uses a html url. So how would I search for this? using the directory above it would leave me with (intext:"*"avi -inurl:html). How would this find my avengers move file if I didnt put the avengers movie in the search? Is the search I did even correct? like would I use intext to search for a film? Do you even have to put intext when searching for something or is it understood? Any answers to my questions would really be appreciated!

2020.11.18 14:45 TrainingResolution6 searching directories of video clips

As it suggests that you can find almost anything with open directory search, I want someone to suggest me how can I search for video clips. I've tried including the name of the person in the video within the search phrase: +(.mkv.mp4.avi.mov.mpg.wmv) intitle:"index of" -inurl:(jspplphphtmlaspxhtmcfshtml) -inurl:(listen77mp3raidmp3tossmp3drugindex_ofwallywashis)

2020.05.29 21:38 limboxshack annoyed by recaptcha? use this

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/buster-captcha-solver-fompbjkejclgfgadiemmefgebjfooflfhl - solve recaptcha with one click. it uses the audio method but does it automatically for you. youre welcome. also, here are some tips, if you stumble upon a site that has s#(any number) or dl# on its subdomain. open those sites and then do s1-s99 or dl1-d199. to do this effectively use a seo software like screaming frog. paste the links there, and look for ones where the title returns with "Index of /". to make sure you don't go over a site twice and if you clean your cookies/cache all the time, it helps to have a 'blacklister'. there's ublacklist from chrome store but i prefer using an addon like tampermonkey/greasemonkey and use https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/1682-google-hit-hider-by-domain-search-filter-block-sites instead. enjoy hunting. also, lastly, this is very very helpful if you use koala's indexer. since the indexer works on the directory and then finds subdirectories, it's best to use it on the top level folder and its slow to manually clicking on the "..." or manually editing the address link, so use this instead https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/up/iohgglcbddjknnemakghbjadinmopafl - it is self explanatory. for beginners, if you want to find 1080p media from chinese uploaders, here's an easy dork: intitle:"index of" intitle:oneindex (mp4mkvwmvavi) 1080p. you will have more results once you do them one by one, like remove other file formats, so just "mp4 1080p" then next you do 720p and other file formats. oneindex is a top opendirectory in chinese people. when you run out of ideas, it's best to use the intext operator and it's easy to do it. what you do is, go to your favorite opendirectory that you discovered, and then use an online serp utility. post the link in there, then it will show you the serp, whatever you see in the description, use the keywords in there and use it on intext. you will find a lot. just need to be creative and wise. don't limit yourself to what is taught in this site(i started here and thank you for many people but i thank koalabear the most he is very valuable). also, if you just want to go on a hunting spree, use your common operators like, site:(here you can either do tlds like com, net, org and you will get results, or you can also use *.*.*.#(1-255) and then you can move to 1.*.*.#(1-255) you get it now) intitle:index.of (mp4mkv) (1080p720p480p) -deadpool(lots of fake site have this keyword on there intitle, so you can skip those)

2020.04.28 23:59 Motion4life Anyone notice fewer ODs on google

Last year when I started searching for ODs, I felt like there were a ton of them.
Now as I search less and less are showing up. Has anyone else noticed this?
Usually I use the template on google: "intext:"whatever" intitle:"index.of" +(wmvmpgavimp4mkvmov) -inurl:(jspplphphtmlaspxhtmcfshtml)"
Or I would search "index name year 720p or 1080p mp4 or mkv"
Seems like they are being filtered out.

2020.03.02 03:09 Vic_is_awesome1 ILPT: watch any movie for free

so to do this you will just need to put in the movie or series you want to watch followed by "+(.mkv.mp4.avi.mov.mpg.wmv.3gp) -inurl:(jspplphphtmlaspxhtmcfshtml) intitle:index.of -inurl:(listen77mp3raidmp3tossmp3drugindex_ofwallywashis)".
for example,
joker +(.mkv.mp4.avi.mov.mpg.wmv.3gp) -inurl:(jspplphphtmlaspxhtmcfshtml) intitle:index.of -inurl:(listen77mp3raidmp3tossmp3drugindex_ofwallywashis)
then you will find a lot of directories from which u can download from. i would reccomend using a vm if u download or just stream it

2020.01.30 00:14 ringofyre /r/opendirectories due diligence before posting.

As we've had a bit of an influx of new posters over the last few weeks/months; we've gone from 100 odd to 400 regulars - I thought I might just post muh pre-posting process I've honed since being here.
EDIT: VPN or tor - I generally use neither other than occasionally vpngate and openvpn to circumvent geoip issues. If it makes you feel safer then by all means use a vpn. I don't think anyone here is going to get a rude letteemail from "the authorities" for downloading data they found freely by using a search engine and not using a vpn. It should be noted that tor is not really designed for high volume bandwidth (such as downloading gb's of OD data) EDITED. If you do you'll slow down traffic for many other nodes on the network. There is a bucketload of info online about both topics - this isn't really the place. Suffice to say et onus cave. I know muh latin is shit but I don't think they had to tell downloaders to beware in Ancient Rome!
stolen from lumpysoft due to laziness - but try that or /Downloads (maybe with & without the "s")
Be warned without any other operators that'll give you a lot of unsorted cruft. Try adding subdirectory names or other terms.
/Incoming/movies
for eg.
EDIT: Gdrives etc. - I don't often search for & post gdrives but if I did I'd add a [Gdrive] tag. For me this is a netiquette thing; I have a few google accounts for volunteering I do. Some of those admins of those accounts I probably don't want knowing that I download music or tv shows or other ahem stuff. Having a [Google Drive] tag or similar will at least prompt me to either log out or change accounts. I know I can see the link anyway but sometimes...
EDIT: If he hasn't within a couple of days, ask KoalaBear84 to use his excellent tool to index your post - it gives us all a shitload of useful info about the OD. Be polite - he's not-a-bot! Thanks KB84! Alternatively invoke ODScanner , thanks Chaphasilor!
EDIT: If you're lucky and it sticks around long enough you may find it listed in krazybug 's regular update of all working OD's listed so far - the ODShot, site:reddit.com/opendirectories/ odshot
Here's a not-exhaustive list -
wallywashis.name
unknownsecret.info
haroldhas.info
sirens.rocks
moodownloads.com
Avoid them like the plague!
I think I've covered everything, gud hunting and apologies for the blogpost.
EDIT: Thank for the gold & silver, cheers to the mods for stickying this and keep the comments/suggestions coming - I tried to be moderately exhaustive but clearly missed a few points. & a little bit of recent tidying up.

2019.05.06 00:08 ringofyre [Searches] Having more trouble finding engines with viable results or more than a couple of hits.

I use this string from here
intext:"whatever you're searching for" +(avimkvmovmp4mpgwmv) -inurl:(jspplphphtmlaspxhtmcfshtml) intitle:"index.of./"
I don't regularly use frontends (I did use lumpysoft occasionally until it died) but it seems to me that whether I use google, duckduckgo (0 hits), searx (captch error), startpage or similar I either get little or no results seeking shows or movies maybe a year or 2 old. It also seems that the abundance of Iranian dl sites just aren't indexed by google any longer.

An example would be www.dedibox.fr

2016.11.22 03:04 Bman1973 Here's the best advice I've ever gotten regarding ODs.

movies/tvshows - intitle:"index.of" (mp4avimkv) "movie name" -html -htm -php -asp -jsp
music - intitle:"index.of" (mp3flacaac) "name or title" -html -htm -php -asp -jsp
books - intitle:"index.of" (pdfepubmob) "name or title" -html -htm -php -asp -jsp
The bit in parenthesis states the filetypes you are looking for, next in quotes is the content you are looking for, next with minus signs are things that you do not want to see. The first bit - intitle:"index.of" is to get you opendirectories specifically. Any text that is specific to opendirectories would work. For example;
"parent directory" "name or title" (.mp4.mkv.avi.wmv.mov) -html -htm -php -asp -cg
just copy/paste to google and have fun...many of the ods we're looking for are asian or from the middle east and you'll often find persian porn/movie folders and the movies WE want are in a folder titled "English Movies" so experiment with search terms but def try English movie' and English movie parent directory and just parent directory... EDIT: Some other keywords I thought of - "Year" - "YeaGenre" "Genre" EDIT: TRY www.scrpe.com IT IS BETTER THAN ANYTHING I'VE EVER TRIED...YOU WILL NEED NOTHING ELSE..MAYBE..

2015.10.11 03:01 cw45346462353512asfa Possible Temporary Solution to Get Some Movies

Okay so while Corrent was down I was seeing if I could still access the movies on google drive. I figured out that I was able to find the movie files through google search.
Basically, google indexes public files through the google search engine. That means by using specific features of google search you might be able to watch those movies!
To find the files you need to use the "inurl:" and "intitle:" features. These two keywords will allow you to search for words in the url and title of the page. The way google drive works is that it includes the file name in the page title and it seem most people don't modify the original movie title. Lets see if we can find some game of throne episodes on google drive by using this method.
Go to google and type this: intitle:game.of.thrones inurl:drive.google.com
and bingo there you go, probably 10 episodes from game of thrones that you can stream from google drive.
It seems you need to use specific formatting for the intitle: function. It has to be the same as how the file would be worded. The best way to find this formatting is to go to torrent sites and see what the exact file name is. Here are some examples of movie titles as worded in torrent files:
Pixels.2015.720p.BluRay.x264.YIFY.mp4
Knock.Knock.2015.HDRip.XViD-ETRG.avi
The.Martian.2015.HD-TS.XVID.AC3.HQ.Hive-CM8.avi
If you don't find anything using those terms then start scaling down the terms to simplify it. For example, I didn't find the pixels movie using that exact search term but I did find the movie by using "pixels.2015"
Well there you go! Good luck! If you have any other tips, please share.

2015.07.04 09:54 NSA_Is_Listening What are you currently using to search for open directories?

I just wanted to see what other people are using to look for open directories. This subreddit has helped me out quite a bit but I wanted to see if there are anymore things I haven't thought of. Currently, I use the following on Google:
I have this bookmarked for easy access. I was thinking about looking for open directories on other search engines. Any tips for that would be appreciated, as well.
