Hi everyone! I have a question involving the use of alcoholmarkers on this type of paper. It seems that for me after 24 hours it still happens that when I hit a different already dried color with my marker it keeps smudging like it never really dried :(. I'm new at coloring and I'm kinda bummed because idk what to do and I don't seem to find a solution online. So I'm hoping someone can help me out! Also everyone else on the internet says it dries really fast so I'm really confused, is it mainly for sketching things rather than what I try : Print coloring pages on it?

What is "[NOS] Genius"? From the band's perspective, it's the CORRECT version of "Genius" --the version that was never actually released. It features the album version of the song structure with the original lyrics--which finally makes the song make lyrical sense and better fit it with ".com" album peers "Please Sir" and "Microwaved." The full story of it all will be on the Kickstarter page at launch.
When: 1st June, 2024 (one-month campaign, closing 1st July, 2024).
Why?: We realized it wouldn't be cool to deny overseas fans the opportunity to get this item from the upcoming Nov 2024 tour's merch booth (the tour version may be a different color anyway)--ergo a new, unplanned, pop-up Kickstarter!
What's in the Box? This has been my general resume format since 2015, and it's worked really well for me over years. Outside of my first job hunt, which admittedly was a bit of a challenge, I've never had significant difficulties finding new employment.
On my most recent job hunt back in spring 2023, I went 6-for-6 with this resume. Every single place I applied to I got an interview at. Even still, while I am quite comfortable with my current employeer, I still get requests from recruiters to chat and send resumes over - and every single recruiter I've sent a resume to wants to set up an interview.
Format-wise, I kept it as simple as possible, no fancy styles, colors, or anything like that. I know there's a lot of back-and-forth on whether or not a summary is good/bad, but I prefer to use one. Even keeping my resume at 1 page, I think having a summary saves time for those who don't want to take 3 minutes and read the whole thing. Just by reading the summary, I think the reader can gain a good understanding of who I am and what I can do.
Second to this, which I didn't post, I have about a 4 page long Experience Summary document, which sums up all the major projects I've managed or played a major role on. Instead of a cover letter, which is pretty useless, I submit the Experience Summary instead. It's much more geared towards technical reviewers, not HR or any non-technical folks, because it is a bit "weedy".

2024.05.18 23:24 NASKAii learn from my mistakes: my advice for preclinic of dental anatomy (stage 1)

  1. you don’t need all the tools they require from you, for example, you won’t need a bunsen burner, take a torch your first stage just carving the tooth and knowing about its anatomy
  2. you carved too deep into the tooth? lol no need to repeat. take your spoon like tool pick up your worn off wax and melt it using heat (either from your torch or from a candle you lit on your desk idk) pour the melted wax into the area and start over.
  3. use the sharpest tool for most of your work, use round tools for making grooves, cervical lines, fossae…etc
  4. use tiny tip sharp tools to make pits
  5. no tooth is realistically anatomically accurate just follow your instructions/textbook
  6. if like me you use wheelers anatomy 10th edition go to the end pages to see the teeth 3D
  7. most dr’s don’t care about accuracy in measuring
  8. carve on white colored wax for not just aesthetic reasons but also for the quality and visibility of shallow details, i learned that there is more chance for the prec. staff to grade your tooth higher if it’s on white wax
  9. if you are bad at carving know that it doesn’t determine that you would be a bad dentist in the future most ppl are bad at carving because it requires skill
  10. don’t get yourself on the bad side of the prec staff
  11. WEAR HEADPHONE! listen to music during prec, don’t complain to the students around you and most importantly DONT let them complain to you. they will kill your time. 12 as you practice each tooth write down your best carving methods on mobile notes app because you will slowly change your steps as you learn from your mistakes the more you carve
  12. if you were headphones DO NOT ADJUST IT WITH A TOOL IN YOUR HAND. god i almost poked my eye once with lacron
  13. USE TISSUE: this is my best tip yet have tissue with your hands each step done polish immediately with tissue it makes your tooth look super clean and super smooth
  14. use a toothbrush to brush off extra wax on occlusal surface of posterior teeth
  15. if during exams your tooth broke don’t panic very gently work and try to mend using your torch and lacron
  16. finally just be gentle and gentle enjoy the process don’t be anxious during carving even during exams i try to work slow and steady. take deep breaths and relax your mind, be gentle with your tools use your creative mind during carving. okay that’s it. these are my tips i hope it helps

There are extensions already (Dark Reader) that can force dark mode but usually it's hit or miss, its based on some algorithm that guesses the right colors correctly from time to time.
This proposal is about using AI like NVIDIA does with DLSS to analyze sites and figure out a good way to turn styles and assets into a dark mode in the best possible way. It can be a switch in the menu but also a setting that can be saved per site and or domain/URL pattern.
This is something I would pay for.

According to the formula of cost per page the toner yield is calculated with 5% coverage. Which in our business is not gonna be as students will majority of the time get fully coloured pages printed which isn't 5% coverage. So that's our problem, how do we exactly find out cost per page. It's basically a plate of eggs, the pills from Double Evolution Pill, a melonbread with its quarters colored like the guys from the artwork of Fossil Dig (Aitsu, Koitsu, Doitsu, and Soitsu), and a boba tea colored like Animadorned Archosaur (the tea itself is light blue, the boba are light green). Babycerasaurus and Petiteranodon are looking at the plate in horror.
I know not to waste my money, but I've had several ideas for comms I could ask for in the future, and I kinda just wanted to vent after the masterpiece Kraus-Illustrations gave me. Here are some I've had. And feel free to share any ideas for Yu-Gi-Oh commissions or fanart you have! I wanna see what you cooked up in your brains!
  • A Toon-ified Rainbow Dragon and Elemental HERO Neos (or just a Toon-ified version of Rainbow Neos), with the Yokohama Rainbow Bridge being shown in Toon World (Kraus-Illustrations would be the preferred artist in this case).
  • Either a Toon-ified Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, or a Toon-ified Absolute King - Megaplunder, with JR Fukui Station being shown in the pages of Toon World (again, Kraus-Illustrations is preferred; his Toon fanart is the GOAT!)
  • Mezuki and Gozuki enthusiastically shouting "Ni hao!" at the viewer, with the background either being a Graveyard or Zombie World. Both monsters are based on Horse-Face and Ox-Head, two figures from Chinese folklore, hence them greeting the viewer in Chinese.
  • A Japanese Macaque being drawn in the Melffy art style. "Melffy Makky" (my name for it) is relaxing in a hot spring.
  • Similarly, a Melffy playmat similar to the one from Kraus-Illustrations. It shows not only Melffy Makky, but also the Japanese Racoon Dog, Usurri Brown Bear, and Okinawa Flying Fox, all being welcomed by Melffy Mommy.
  • Doomking Balerdroch welcoming Imsety, Glory of Horus into Zombie World, while Imsety encourages Hapi, Qebehesenuef, and Duamutef not to be shy and come in (the preferred artist would be Midnite-Dreams).
  • Laundry Dragonmaid being group hugged by Tearlaments Havnis, Merrli, and Scheiren.
  • "Floowandereeze x Pootoo". Pootoo is either based on the Common Potoo or the Great Potoo. The 3 Floowandereeze are flying through a rainforest late at night, while Pootoo either calls out to them or stares at them. The three are all frightened, with one visibly in tears. (Seriously, the potoo bird is creepy).

DIY Shonen Jump with some caveats...
This may be a long post...There was a discussion the other day about domestic printing for a Shonen Jump-style magazine, ala the HHFT Omnibus Manga edition. It sent me down a rabbit hole and ultimately led me to say "Maybe I could just print my own?"
I had black and white lineart from a comic series I did years ago, so that part was easy. Comparing paper to an issue of SJ, I think 20#/75gsm bond is probably close enough, although not as "toothy". I picked up PrintWorks Pastel Paper at Staples - 100 sheets for $7. They didn't have any glossy paper stock for a cover so I used cardstock I had on hand. Everything is printed through my decrepit Canon G6000.
My initial thoughts:
It really does look cool, I think. I had four separate 16-page stories, each on it's own color paper. The original art was not scaled for 8.5x11 (and was drawn full bleed at original print size) but for a proof of concept I think it's fine. It would definitely look better to draw larger and reduce the art down. The blacks came out pretty good, even on draft mode, which leads me to my critiques.
I think it looks too good. SJ's print quality fluctuates page to page sometimes, with some chapters barely legible. My guess is it's a combination of printing issues quickly on not-great paper, and inkjet printers are engineered to NOT do that. I think you could run some sort of noise filter over the lineart or artificially "degrade" it before printing to get closer.
Is it cost effective? Depends on what you're trying to do. By my math, I'm in for $2.38 in paper costs which includes two misprinted sheets. My printer is an Eco-tank (or whatever they call it) so the ink cost is maybe a couple pennies, same for the cover stock. I had to drive about twenty minutes round trip to get the paper, plus file prep time and actual print time and assembly, probably three hours all together. A fun afternoon project, but probably not a viable product.
HOWEVER...you can get color copies (b/w copies on color paper) from Best Value Copy. Roughly speaking, 50 copies of a 64-page book with glossy color cover comes in just over $100, including shipping. At $2.00 a copy, that's not bad. Of course, you're going to have to perfect bind and trim these yourself, which is going to require some investment for equipment.
The ultimate question, I think, is what does it mean to make your own Shonen Jump? Is it recreating the object as precisely as possible (glossy cover, cheap color paper interiors, etc) or using the philosophy of Shueisha to print your work (cheap quality mass printing on a regular basis with higher quality collections less frequently)? If you're going for the former, it costs more money to look not as good. If the latter, you can probably shave about 30% off the price per copy by just using white paper instead.
I do think this would be a great format for an anthology series. Thoughts? Questions?
