2024.05.19 01:11 ExcitingTrust888 Things I wish to see in future updates of the game

I’m enjoying this game for what it’s worth and I know that it’s not even officially out yet, but I hope that before the official release they can add these things to the game. I don’t know if the devs are reading this sub, but I’m sure at least one of them does lol!
Different looking gear: This is definitely one of the main complaints in the game and they should really address this. Legendary weapons and gear should look like their in-game counterparts if they have any like in Fallout Shelter. I mean Cicero is wearing a mail, he should be wearing his jester costume. Tiber Septim should be wearing his gold armor, and so on. It just helps differentiate it from other items and also make them look more “Legendary”. They don’t even need to make their 3D model look similar to the source material, just their gear is fine, but at least give them the right skin tone and hairstyle.
As for the other gear with just special effects but are not from the other ES games, literally just add particle effects on them like a sword with a fire bonus should be on fire, an axe with a frost bonus should be icy, a dagger with a lifesteal effect should be dripping in blood, and so on. It makes it more obvious that the item has an enchantment. I swear people would love this game more if you add that.
Return the “Wasteland Expedition” feature(forgot what it’s called) that Fallout Shelter had: You know, just drop a unit or a party in a carriage placed maybe at the entrance of the castle or something and let them explore the world where they will get items, gold, and so on, without your intervention, and the longer they explore, the more items they get, then give it a cap that when they die, they automatically go back home instead so they don’t go exploring forever.
Maybe add a small animation where they are doing stuff like running, fighting enemies, eating, and so on to make it more interesting while they are just exploring and have dialog options here and there so you have to check them for then to move forward. Then have some checkpoints so you can continue travelling the said route and discovering new areas and dialog options to get better items.
They can connect this with exploring new locations for the game to have a more coherent story and questlines. Tbh exploring locations is what makes Fallout Shelter fun and interesting, I really hope that they return that feature someday. Imagine exploring towns and castles where you can go inside rooms, look for items and talk to other NPC’s, then at some point you get to fight enemies or while running around town you fight bandits and stuff, then the game switches to the normal combat screen. Man that would really elevate Castles to a more fully fleshed out game. Like imagine going to Whiterun or Cyrodiil, man that would be amazing 🤩
Imagine having a Thieves’ Guild Questline or a Dragonborn quest where in the end one of your units becomes a dragonborn with special gear and stuff like that. And they can make it seasonal since units die of old age anyways, so like this month you can get a dragonborn unit with a unique trait if you complete the quest, then next month you can get a thieves guild unit and so on. And these traits cannot be inherited so the only way to get them is by doing the quests. One can only dream 🙏
More decorations that the subjects can interact with: I only have a low level castle right now so I don’t have all the decorations, but I notice units can interact with the fountain and have a ruling that say the fountain is being filled with gold coins and such. I don’t know if there are other decorations like this in higher levels, but I hope they add more of them. Like maybe someone reads the red book and suddenly they get an enduring trait since the description says it contains the “Secret to Enduring Health”, or they read the green book and they become 5 years younger, someone hangs around the purple tree too much and they become temporarily haunted, that would be really nice to see.
Oh and animation-wise too they definitely should add more interactions. I’ve only noticed two decorations that the NPC’s interact with, the fountain and the purple tree. Adults steal coins from the fountain, and kids play ring-around-a-rosie around the tree. It’s cute when they do that, just small details that add more life to the game. Oh and they sometimes taste the soup in the kitchen and check out their clothes in the sewing table, which is funny. I hope they add more of these to the other workstations, like they can test a weapon in the blacksmith, scribble over the battle plans in the war room, steal a sweet roll at the buffet, and so on.
Hard mode quests: Quests where if your units die, you lose your units permanently, but the rewards are better. They can implement this at the gauntlet for more seasoned players to try.
Bookshelf should have books that players can read: I bought the Lusty Argonian 1 and 2 for some gold, I should at least be able to read them, right? Isn’t that why we even choose what book to buy in the first place?
Music Stage should let us choose what background music to play: The music plays on a loop but it changes, at least give us an option to choose what we want to hear and maybe get new music to play from the shop. And definitely should add a musician/bard trait or something where if they play music at the music stage, they increase happiness for other NPC’s. To make it balanced, they can only increase the happiness to the lowest green level and will only affect their family and friends, I guess that would be reasonable without being too gamebreaking.
Allow us to destroy items to get back their raw materials: Not really necessary but it would be a nice feature to have. I’d be okay with destroying items to get half or 1/3 of the resources used to make them, at least my useless items will have some other use except for selling them.
Have an alchemy/wizard table that produces potions/scrolls: 1 potion per day is good enough. In the same vein, having a wizard table that produces scrolls is nice too, maybe not just resurrection scrolls, but temporary buffs that work only for the current battle is good too.
Have a leveling system for the units: Like someone using their workstation for 5 years should at least get a +1 bonus productivity in their job, up to a maximum of +5, with rarer units getting more, like gold units can get up to +9, purple +8, blue +7, green but with 2 traits +6, while fighters should get more proficient with their weapons the more they fight. A 10% increase for having weapon proficiency isn’t so overpowered anyway but is nice to have. Maybe each weapon should have a specific unit that they need to kill, and when they accomplish it they unlock the proficiency? Like “kill 100 goblins to get 10% more damage with this weapon”? I dunno, but it’s a nice thing to have and adds something more to do in the game with a tangible reward.
That’s all I have for now, hope you guys like my ideas and definitely your comments will be much appreciated! If you have ideas of your own you can share them below 😊

2024.05.13 11:03 Effective-Ice-2623 How are human hair weaves attached?

How are human hair weaves attached?
Human hair weaves are typically attached to natural hair in a few different ways, and the method used can vary based on personal preference, hair type, and the desired result. Here are some common methods for attaching human hair weaves:
https://preview.redd.it/mhh1ovbws50d1.jpg?width=564&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7dfdf909eb805e7086f01d6760e50ef1c9e0f5f1
Sewing or Stitching:
This techniques involves braiding the natural hair into cornrows, and then sewing the weft of the hair weave onto the braids using a needle and thread. This is a popular and long-lasting method but should be done carefully to avoid damage to the natural hair.
Gluing:
Hair weaves can be attached using a specially formulated hair glue or adhesive. Small sections of the weft are glued close to the scalp, usually onto braids or a cap. This method is quicker than sewing but may not be as long-lasting, and removing the glue can be challenging.
Clipping or Taping:
Some hair weaves come with clips or tapes attached to the weft. These can be clipped or taped onto the natural hair. This method is convenient as it allows for easy removal and reattachment.
Bonding:
Bonding involves using a special hair bonding glue to add the weft to the natural hair. The glue is applied to the weft and then pressed onto the natural hair. It's essential to use a high-quality glue to avoid damage and to follow proper removal procedures.
Micro-Linking or Micro-Ring:
Small metal or silicone rings are used to attach the weft to small sections of natural hair. This method is popular because it doesn't involve heat or adhesives, reducing the risk of damage.
Fusion or Hot Fusion:
This method uses a hot tool to bond individual strands of the hair weave with small sections of natural hair. It provides a more natural look, but it needs to careful application to prevent damage to the natural hair and scalp.
It's crucial to note that while hair weaves can be a versatile and convenient way to change your hairstyle, improper attachment or maintenance can lead to damage and hair loss.

2024.05.05 21:19 Active_Analyst5075 What to do with my hair for prom?

Hi everyone, this is my first time being here and I just wanted to ask some questions about hair. I’m in my senior year of high school and my prom is coming up. It’s the first and only prom I am attending and I wanted to look really nice but I have no idea what to do with my hair. I live in a predominantly white/Asian community so there’s not a lot of variation when it comes to hair. I usually just wear my natural curly hair down or sometimes I get box braids which I really like but I get called out/made fun of for having hair extensions
I wanted to try a couple of things: 1.) Straightening my hair - I like how natural it looks but my hair already has a lot of heat damage and I don’t want to add more heat to it. Also, my 3B/C hair is a nice length at my shoulders but I wanted something a bit longer for prom
2.) clip ins - I’ve been told I have a good hair texture for clip ins and I was debating on getting them but I’m not sure how they would help with the front portion of my hair because that is where it is the shortest and I rally want a layered curtain look
3.) Sew in - a sew in and seems like the best option but I’ve never had one before and I’m not sure my hair texture is curly/kinky enough for the sewing to last, I have 3B/C hair. I also want my hair to look as natural as possible so that I wouldn’t get called out or made fun of for having a wig because I know it would ruin my day. I would not care usually but I just wanna feel pretty without people asking me about my hair constantly. Also my family is against this style as well
I was just wondering what your experiences with these hairstyles is and if there was any other option, I could explore for my hair. I would love all advice and input. Thank you!

As a hairstylist, I've been using Outre X-Pression Pre-Stretched 3X, 42" braiding hair for various clients, and I'm impressed with the results. The pre-stretched and pre-layered braids provide a unique experience, making them an attractive option for those looking for a more relaxed braiding process. I appreciate the attention to detail in this product, ensuring that my clients can rock their hairstyles with confidence. The flame-retardant property adds an extra layer of safety during the styling process.
However, I've noticed a bit of shedding, which could be a concern for some. The hot water setting might have some inconsistencies, causing potential issues in achieving the desired length and thickness. Additionally, the bundles could use some improvement in how they are packaged, ensuring that they are less likely to tangle up.
Overall, the Outre X-Pression Pre-Stretched 3X, 42" braiding hair is an excellent choice for those seeking comfortable and durable hair extensions. With a bit of improvement in some areas, this product has the potential to become a go-to for hairstylists and clients alike.

Once installed using a hot water setting, it blends seamlessly with your natural hair for a natural look. The color options are vast, and they never seem to fade away even after long-term use.

🔗Soft and Versatile Natural Black Pre Twisted Passion Twist Crochet Braids Hair Pack

https://preview.redd.it/7y6hmyjksqxc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1daf6359712f530d6ca78107d3200ef2125831d8
As a product tester, I tried out the Leeven Pre-Twisted Passion Twist Hair in an 8-pack, 8-inch Natural Black. It was fascinating to see how my hair transformed with this twist of synthetic fibers! The pre-twisted and pre-looped crochet twist hair felt incredibly soft and itch-free, making it a pleasure to wear even for long hours. The synthetic fibers were also lightweight and odor-free, which added to the comfort factor.
I particularly loved the versatility of these passion twist braids! They looked natural and blended seamlessly with my original hair, providing a stylish protective hairstyle. Despite being synthetic, the hair held its shine and bounce for long hours, and it was a breeze to maintain and wash.
However, one downside I discovered was that the crochet hook wasn't as durable as I expected. But overall, I was quite satisfied with the product's softness, lightness, and style. The Leeven Pre-Twisted Passion Twist Hair was an excellent addition to my daily routine, giving my hair a stylish boost and saving me time and money in the process.

What are feed-in braids?

Feed-in braids are a type of extension braids where the hair strands are added to the existing hair one by one, rather than being sewn or glued in. This method allows for a more natural appearance and reduces the risk of damage to the natural hair.

Why should I choose feed-in braids over other types of extensions?

Feed-in braids are a popular choice for those who want to achieve a more natural look with their hair extensions. They are less damaging to your natural hair due to the incremental braiding process, and they can last longer than other types of extensions, such as sew-in and glue-in.

https://preview.redd.it/dmohf7mmsqxc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2435b69180c03a3b891a85d45839892d4f05cf03

What materials are feed-in braids made from?

Feed-in braids are typically made from synthetic or human hair. Synthetic feed-in braids are more affordable but may be less durable and require more maintenance. Human hair feed-in braids are more expensive but can blend better with your natural hair and last longer.

What are some popular brands for feed-in braids?

Well-known brands for feed-in braids include Tara Extensions, Marley Hair, and Easilocks. It is essential to research the quality and safety of the products before purchasing from any brand.

How long do feed-in braids last?

The lifespan of feed-in braids varies depending on the type of hair used, the maintenance, and your hair type. Generally, synthetic feed-in braids can last between 4 to 6 weeks, while human hair feed-in braids can last up to 3 months with proper care.

What is the installation process for feed-in braids?

The installation process for feed-in braids typically involves braiding your natural hair with the extension hair strands. This process is usually done by a professional stylist to ensure the braids are evenly distributed and properly secured. It is not recommended to attempt the installation process yourself, as it may cause damage to your natural hair.

Are feed-in braids suitable for all hair types?

Feed-in braids can be a good option for various hair types, but it is essential to consider your hair's texture and density. Thicker or coarser hair may require more time and care during the installation process, while thinner or more delicate hair may need to use a gentle hand to avoid damage.

How can I maintain my feed-in braids?

To maintain your feed-in braids, ensure they are properly combed and styled daily. Avoid pulling or tugging at the braids, as it can cause them to become loose or damaged. It is also crucial to clean your scalp regularly and avoid using harsh chemicals, as they can weaken the braids and damage your natural hair.

Am I the only one who thinks this outfit is a dud?
North is my best girl, but this outfit...
Most of the time I replayed the scene where she and Marcus were in the abandoned building together because they are all cute, so most of the time I see her in this outfit. But sometimes I just replay the game completely and see her very first outfit, and see how much everything is wrong with this one.
Her face is GORGEOUS, like, everything, the shape and... whatever else the face consists of. And they hide her forehead behind bangs and hat, and make her face look wider with those hanging strands. It is a CRIME. Her hair was also ugly crumpled with cloth. I know it's hard to animate flowing hair, but that wasn't their only variation? They could have given her any other tied hairstyle except side braids and low ponytails. By the way, apparently she is able to change the length of her hair, so they were not even limited by this.
The clothes suck too. What are these cutouts? Why does this rag look like she sewed it on herself and in order to undress she will have to cut it?
What is this thing looking at your skirt? This is not part of the shirt.
Her boots are also too bright to match her glove and hat.
Just WHY should they do this? This kind of nonsense doesn’t come to mind spontaneously, so they just sat there thinking about it, and then decided that it looked great?

Origins of Hair Extensions
Hair extensions date back thousands of years, with evidence of their use in ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Greece, and Rome. However, the modern techniques and materials used in hair extensions have evolved significantly.
Materials
The two primary types of hair extensions are synthetic and natural (human) hair. Synthetic extensions are typically made from various synthetic fibers, while natural hair extensions are sourced from donors worldwide. The quality of natural hair extensions often depends on factors like texture, color, and length, which are meticulously selected to match the desired look.
Manufacturing Process
Synthetic Hair Extensions
Synthetic hair extensions are manufactured using advanced synthetic fibers such as polyester, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), or polypropylene. These fibers are dyed to match various hair colors and textures. The manufacturing process involves extruding the synthetic fibers through heated molds to create strands with the desired texture and length. These strands are then bundled together to form extensions, which may undergo additional processing, such as heat treatment, to achieve specific styles or curls.
Natural Hair Extensions
Natural hair extensions are sourced from donors worldwide, with a focus on quality and ethical practices. The hair undergoes a rigorous selection process to ensure uniformity in texture, color, and length. Once sourced, the hair is carefully cleaned, sanitized, and sorted according to specific criteria. Depending on the desired style, the hair may be processed further, undergoing treatments such as coloring, perming, or straightening. You can get a lot of beautiful natural hair extensions online from various sites like eBay and TrueGether. There are so many options and hair extensions of all sizes and shapes available on the site. You can choose whichever you want.
Installation Techniques
Clip-In Extensions
Clip-in extensions are among the most popular and versatile options for temporary hair enhancement. These extensions feature small clips attached to the base of each weft, allowing them to be easily clipped onto the wearer's natural hair. Clip-in extensions are ideal for adding volume, length, or highlights without the commitment of permanent installation. The process of clipping in extensions is simple and can be done at home without professional assistance.

Tape-In Extensions
Tape-in extensions consist of thin wefts of hair that are pre-taped with a medical-grade adhesive. The extensions are then sandwiched between small sections of the natural hair, creating a seamless blend. Tape-in extensions offer a semi-permanent solution that can last several weeks with proper care. Installation typically involves a trained stylist who strategically places the extensions for optimal coverage and natural-looking results.
Fusion or Bonded Extensions
Fusion or bonded extensions involve attaching individual strands of hair to the natural hair using a keratin-based adhesive. The adhesive is heated to create a bond between the extension and the natural hair, resulting in a seamless integration. Fusion extensions offer a long-lasting solution with proper maintenance, allowing them to remain in place for several months. Installation requires skill and precision, as each strand must be placed strategically to ensure a natural flow and appearance.
Hair Extension Maintenance: Tips and Tricks for Long-Lasting Wear
Hair extensions can be a game-changer, offering instant length, volume, and versatility to your hairstyle. However, to keep your extensions looking their best and ensure they last as long as possible, proper maintenance is essential. In this blog post, we'll explore some valuable tips and tricks for maintaining your hair extensions for long-lasting wear.
Understanding Your Hair Extensions
Before diving into maintenance tips, it's essential to understand the type of extensions you have and their specific care requirements. Whether you have clip-in, tape-in, fusion, or sew-in extensions, each type may require slightly different care routines. Additionally, whether your extensions are made from synthetic or human hair will also impact how you care for them.
https://preview.redd.it/hh6zeyht98xc1.jpg?width=3200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8926e1081dcd6e560c56a94cc41e344a7df788e2
Washing Your Hair Extensions
Proper washing is crucial for keeping your hair extensions clean and free from product buildup. Here are some tips for washing your extensions:
Use a Mild Shampoo:
Opt for a sulfate-free and moisturizing shampoo to gently cleanse your extensions without stripping them of natural oils. Avoid shampoos with harsh chemicals that can damage the hair fibers.
Detangle Before Washing:
Before washing your extensions, carefully detangle them using a wide-tooth comb or a specialized extension brush. This will help to prevent the tangling and matting during the entire washing process.
Wash with Care:
Gently lather the shampoo into your extensions, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends while avoiding the roots. Wash properly with lukewarm water until the water runs clear.
Condition Regularly:
Apply a hydrating conditioner to the lengths and ends of your extensions, avoiding the roots to prevent weighing down the hair. Leave the conditioner on the hair for a couple of minutes before washing the hair thoroughly.
Drying Techniques
Proper drying techniques are essential for maintaining the quality and longevity of your extensions:
Air Dry Whenever Possible:
Whenever possible, allow your extensions to air dry naturally to minimize heat damage. Lay them flat on a towel or a drying rack, avoiding twisting or wringing them out.
Use a Heat Protectant:
If you need to use heat styling tools, such as blow dryers or straighteners, always apply a heat protectant spray to your extensions beforehand. This will help prevent heat damage and maintain the integrity of the hair fibers.
Avoid Excessive Heat:
Limit the use of heat styling tools on your extensions and opt for lower heat settings whenever possible. Excessive heat can cause dryness, frizz, and damage to the hair extensions.
Styling Tips
Styling your hair extensions properly can help prolong their lifespan and keep them looking beautiful:
Use Gentle Styling Products:
Choose styling products specifically formulated for use with hair extensions, such as lightweight mousses, serums, or hairsprays. Avoid products containing alcohol or harsh chemicals that can cause dryness or buildup.Avoid Tugging or Pulling:
Handle your extensions with care, avoiding excessive tugging or pulling when styling or brushing. Use a wide-tooth comb or a brush with soft tooth to gently detangle the hair, starting from the ends and working your way up.

Experiment with Hairstyles:
Get creative with your hairstyles to minimize stress on your extensions. Opt for loose braids, buns, or ponytails to prevent tension and reduce the risk of breakage or damage.
Nighttime Care
Taking care of your hair extensions at night is essential for preventing tangling and maintaining their appearance:
Brush Before Bed:
Before going to bed, gently brush your extensions to remove any tangles or knots. Use a soft-bristled brush or a wide-tooth comb to detangle the hair, starting from the ends and working your way up.
Secure Extensions:
If you have clip-in or removable extensions, remove them before sleeping to prevent tangling or matting. For permanent extensions, such as tape-ins or fusion, secure them in a loose braid or ponytail to minimize movement during sleep.
Invest in a Silk Pillowcase:
Sleeping on a silk pillowcase can help reduce friction and minimize tangles, keeping your extensions looking smooth and silky.
Regular Maintenance Checks
Lastly, schedule regular maintenance checks with your hairstylist to ensure your extensions are in good condition:
Trim Regularly:
Trimming your extensions every 6-8 weeks can help prevent split ends and maintain a healthy appearance. Your stylist can also check for any signs of damage or slippage and make any necessary adjustments.Address Any Issues Promptly:
If you notice any tangling, matting, or shedding with your extensions, address the issue promptly to prevent further damage. Please consult with your hairstylist for guidance on how to resolve any problems and keep your extensions looking their best.

Conclusion
Proper maintenance is critical to ensuring your hair extensions look beautiful and last as long as possible. By following these tips and tricks, you can keep your extensions in optimal condition and enjoy long-lasting wear. Remember to treat your extensions with care, use gentle products, and schedule regular maintenance checks to keep them looking their best. 2024.04.27 23:34 Lessprettythrowaway I’m [30F] not sure my BF [30M] actually likes me?

Context: my (30F) bf (30M) Joe and I became friends a year ago. I liked him right away - smart, handsome, funny, same interests. He seemed like a balanced and mature person, compared to my exes (I have been cheated on and triangulated with other women). Joe was grounded and moral, and working on his career goals. I was smitten. We always seemed to flirt with each other, but he didn’t ask me out until last December. My friends thought he was shy.
After we started dating, he revealed to me that I was his first real girlfriend. Within a few weeks he was telling me he loved me, we were made for each other, we were soulmates. He cooked for me, made huge efforts to help me in my personal life, remembered lots of details about me, and took care of me. I was really impressed with Joe’s wisdom, responsibility, cleanliness, and affection. He said that other girls he liked didn’t like him back, and I told him they were crazy to pass him up!
Even in a short time, Joe was committed. He said that he wants to get married, buy a house, and have kids. We weren’t even dating for a month by this point. I’ve been love-bombed before, but since we were friends first, I thought he was genuinely enamored with me. I had to ask him to slow down a bit, as I wasn’t about to get married to someone I just started dating, even though I adored him. He was disappointed and apologized for his “enthusiasm.” He continued to steer us in that direction, but slower.
Joe and I are in a similar career field (science research) and he’s admitted to me he struggles with insecurity over his lack of success. (I’ve been in it longer and make more money.) He frequently rags on the high-earners in our profession, expressing a distaste for certain outlooks and lifestyles they often have, which I largely don’t share. His perspective seemed too negative. However, I thought we were two peas in a pod: two misfits in a sea of people who aren’t just like us. I thought we really connected.
Joe also described how his behavior - helpful, kind, giving - has been a conscious effort on his part. He used to be more superficial, and thought he should be dating the most beautiful girls in school, etc. He said he regrets being unkind to the other girls who showed interest in him. It’s great that he tried to become a better person, but I was a bit offended that in his words, he had to wisen up, appreciate the ”nice girls,” and stop holding out for the girls who “made him look good to his friends.” Ouch.
Unsurprisingly, I started to notice that Joe would be very friendly to attractive women. Not flirting, just…. eager? He gave an interested “ooh!” when I showed him something online that had a pretty woman in it. I told him that, given my experience with men, I found this hurtful. He told me he was “just teasing me. It won’t happen again.” The verbal exclamations didn’t happen again, but I could tell he noticed other women around us (we live by the beach, so they’re everywhere). I know we still have eyes even when in a relationship, but this early on, I thought his focus would be entirely on me. I expressed this to him, and he gently said, “Let the other girls be pretty. You’re the only one I love.”
Joe would occasionally comment that I should change my hairstyle, or wear different outfits. He said “we” should get tan. I told him I don’t like to tan, but he continued to joke about it a couple more times. He also asked if I would get into a hobby (sewing) that’s somewhat related to our interests, but I said it wasn’t high on my list. Whenever I brought up wanting to make more crafts, he would pointedly bring up “Sewing!” again. Joe sometimes says his goal is for me to stay at home while he brings home the money. He recently commented that he wanted “a hot dinner on the table” when he came home. Some of this stuff was getting heavy into homemaking territory, so I directly asked if he had a patriarchal mindset. He smirked and said maybe.
From all that, I noticed that Joe didn’t praise many specific things about me, like men I’m dating usually do. I’m usually called beautiful, but he usually calls me “pretty” and doesn’t elaborate. I’m conventionally attractive, but it’s not the same “look” as the girls on the beach. I asked him if he had a “type” or dream woman - I’ve been burned by this in the past. He said that every guy has a fantasy woman, but that I’m better. I asked what was better about me. He paused for a bit before saying, “You’re real.” In another conversation, I got him to answer in more detail about what his ideal woman was. He listed more qualities, including personality and career and clothes. He said he liked creative women, which I consider myself one, especially with my hobbies. But then he said, “but you work in a lab.” He described an ideal clothing style and told me mine was “the opposite.” I was crushed.
I was shocked that after dating me this long, he described me as my job, instead of who I am as a person. My mood really shifted after that conversation. He got very emotional and pleaded with me that he truly loved me, and he was terrified I would figure out I could “do better than him” and leave him. He said he doesn’t want another woman and would remain single if I left him. He has since been doing more work for me, buying me flowers, and calling me beautiful.
So I started asking Joe, “What do you like about me?” He always pauses before answering. He basically says he likes our closeness, that he feels accepted by me, and our companionship. He says he hated being alone. None of this stuff is about me, though.
His efforts haven’t erased what’s happened so far. He spends so much time with me, and always wants to be around me. (Always. He stays glued to me, hugging me and talking with me, for hours at a time. Day and night.) I know he’s not cheating on me and never wants to leave me, but I don’t feel adored or admired in a way that‘s uniquely about me.
Needless to say, I’ve been freaking out about my hair, my clothes, and my personality. I’ve started trying to explain to him all the stuff we have in common, and how much I’m really like both him and the girls he claims to like. As if I’m selling myself to him. He finally told me the other day things he likes about me, but they’re the qualities I’ve been emphasizing to him recently. He didn’t come up with anything I didn’t already say about myself.
I finally had one more (emotional) conversation about this. I said it sounded like Joe had fantasies of women he wanted prior to dating me, and he said, “You’re being unfair. Didn’t you fantasize about the kind of guy you’d marry someday?” Maybe I’m weird, but I didn’t have a checklist of looks and interests I thought a guy had to have. He said he was sorry for “paying too much attention to certain girls, and that he would try to restrain himself from doing it.” It hurt me that he thinks he has to restrain this impulse. I asked why he only said “try.” He said, “I can do it, but I know I’ll mess up sometimes. I’m weak.”
Joe used to tell me he was “afraid of commitment” before asking me out, and he had fantasies of moving away and living a different life. He wasn’t sure he wanted to be tied down. Now I said, “I think you said the quiet part out loud. I didn’t fit the fantasy vision of what you wanted in a woman.” He was quiet and said I misunderstood him. I asked him to explain. He said that he threw out those fantasies, and WANTS me (present tense) now.
The brave part of me came out. I told him that I accepted his insecurities, feelings of failure, and loved him for who he was. And he tells me I’m “unfair” because I need to be understanding of his wandering eye? I told him I didn’t deserve that. He apologized and insists he loves me, and that I don’t have to change anything about myself. He asked what he can do to show it to me.
This is where I’m conflicted. Part of me is very offended that as upset as I’ve been, he essentially asked me to let him keep looking at other women. He can’t seem to come up with a single thing he likes about me. He puts in a ton of effort to do stuff for me, but part of me wonders if this is a way to make me feel like I need him and can’t leave him.
However, maybe this situation is my fault. As the saying goes, “Don’t ask questions you don’t want the answers to.” Maybe every man has an ideal fantasy woman, but it has no bearing on the woman he comes to love. Maybe my past experiences have amplified a minor issue. Joe wants me to put all this behind me, and believe him when he says he loves me. He’s willing to do what I ask, but I’m not sure what to ask of him that would make me feel better.
Thoughts?
tl;dr: My boyfriend is very loving and committed, and puts a lot of effort into spending time with me and doing things for me. However, I don’t match up with his fantasy vision for a woman, and it shows in his wandering eye. Am I overblowing this? What should I do?

2024.04.27 04:38 SugarPieDie Need some help deciding what to do with my hair for graduation

I want to go with either a straight/curly hairstyle. I’ve never done a wig/weave/sew-in. Just braids or twist. I have type 4 hair. I dont want any heat damage so no leave out/silk presses. What hair do you guys recommend I buy? How much should I buy? What style is better a wig / weave, or a sew-in with a closure? I want it to be slightly above the middle of my back. Thank you so much🥰

2024.04.26 19:00 seashia Ideal summer hairstyle: twist or sew in?

Hi guys! I plan on going to multiple countriesthis summer and I know that it’s going to be very hot and humid but I also plan on being in the water so much you would’ve thought the little mermaid was based off of me. With that being said, I was thinking of getting butt length medium-sized twist for vacation because I think it’ll be cute ( never had them b4). I eagerly decided to take a section of my hair and practice the twist that I was going for to see how I feel and how it takes and I’ve had it in my head for about two weeks. Since then I notice is the places where I added hair and where my own hair ends is somewhat noticeable close up (clearly a technique error I have to fix if I do decide to do it and I also did a blunt cut recently which is probably why my hair is sticking out where my natural hair ends). then it dawned on me that I could do a sew in with hair that matches my own natural hair and probably do a versatile sew in because I won’t mind washing that little piece of hair that’s going to be out. I’ve also never had a sew I before so I would like to know if anyone had done on for vacation/ being in the water, and would like to know how difficult maintenance was or if they enjoyed the style. I was wondering if it’s more ideal then to do twist. I don’t wanna have my natural twist because I already do that style for the other 300 days of the year so I want to switch it up for the summer. I also want something that’s water friendly and something I haven’t had before. Ty!

2024.04.26 02:42 awesomedusa Is this abuse

TL:DR I don’t think my husband of 15 years likes me or loves me, and I think he never did.
I am not sure what is happening in my marriage. My (f36) husband (M40) has always been controlling and he doesn’t see it. I feel that he is very demanding. He judges me pretty hard on my appearance, my conversations topics, my voice, my hairstyle, my smile, the food I make him. Leaving me asking what does he actually like about me. I stoped working when I had a pretty bad experience in job, and I quit with the idea of finding a better match. Covid hit and he convinced me to be a stay at home wife, which I felt pretty ambivalent about, since I had a career and an advance degree. But he made pretty good money, so it made no sense for me to work according to him. He would like me to give him all the power to decide everything, from constantly demanding I get plastic surgery to what I wear everyday. I also feel that our sex life is pretty one-sided, and for the last couple of months Ive gotten pretty tired of it. Back in January I expressed more sexual needs, and the conversation went pretty badly. He says he is “turned off” by “selfish women”. Which I think is unfair, since I do quite a lot to try to please him at least two to three times a week. We do have sex, and I do enjoy it sometimes. I think since then our relationship has taken a turn for the worse. He is always saying that I don’t pay him attention, or listen to him. But I am taking care of our toddler, making breakfast, lunch and dinner since he works from home. A couple of weeks ago he went on a trip, and I stayed at home with the kid. Since I’ve been so sexually frustrated, I tried to enjoy my time alone and bought a couple of things to relive myself. I am currently away with my family that I haven’t visited in ten years. While ive been away he snuck into my sewing supplies, where I hit the things between the fabrics. He says he is hurt that Ive been keeping secrets, and lying about who I am. I told him I was sorry, I explain to him that I didn’t want to burden him with my sexual needs, since he finds the idea of touching me, or oral sex to women repulsive. He told me that if I wanted more sex (and I tried to explain to him that is not necessary it), I had to work harder, wear more make up, dress better and not act like I do. He insist that I am acting entitled, if I expect him to just like me how I am, and not working harder to be a “TikTok girl”. I was like okay, whatever. The next day I called him during the day, I was wearing shorts and a tshirt and hanging out with my mom, her husband and my kiddo. He asked me to talk privately so I went to the side, he said he was disappointed that I called him looking like “a toaster”. That I didn’t fix my hair, put on make up, or try better camera angles, that I looked old and that he felt that I was friend zoning him. And he ended with “you are not looking or acting like someone who wants to get fucked when you get back home”. He also said that he is not just some gross man, who will fuck anything” and that maybe thats what I want. I said I was sorry and we hung up. Later when I called him, i tried telling him a story about my day and he said “why are you talking about that, you dont sound like someone who is sorry” and I told him that I was just trying to have normal conversation. He said alright lets talk about something else, so then he started talking about feminism theory, half an hour later, I realized that he is just wanting to get to the point about how ugly women now feel entitled to sex, without being hot. Yes, I am a bit chubby after the baby, i am around 140 pounds, but my waist is 29 inches, I run races and most people tell me I am pretty. I only feel ugly when I am with him. Whenever I am by myself or in public, I don’t think I am ugly at all. I have fillers, botox, i have a bit of red spots in my face but so what? Many people do, and I get complements on my skin when I went to the dermatologist. I am often told I look like I am in my late 20s. I don’t think I did anything wrong by trying to meet my needs either. Yes I lied about it because I was avoiding exactly this, him telling me that I am ugly, fat and unattractive. I think he is just using this to get me to have another plastic surgery which I dont want to get. He says he loves me and wants us to “work” on this. But I am feeling quite discouraged by the whole thing, I just cry a lot all the time, and I am stressed and anxious constantly. My therapist thinks he is the reason for my anxiety and depression and I agree. Honestly I am so tired of the stress, I feel like I cannot have a casual conversation with him. Nothing is fun anymore. Every car trip is about why he is “unhappy” in the relationship. I dont expect everything to be perfect, but at this point I don’t think he loves me or likes me, and id be better off completely alone, that way I’ll be in peace. Am I wrong here?

2024.04.24 19:42 Rosemarysage5 The best protective style is the one that doesn’t break your hair and that you can leave alone.

I just took out my sew-in after several years (with regular maintenance, removal and re-installs along the way) and my hair is the thickest and longest it’s been in a long time. By the third day, I was sitting watching TV and I had my hands in my hair fiddling with it and I heard a strand SNAP.
I realized that in the sew in I wasn’t messing with my natural hair AT ALL. Now I’m wearing a fro and I’m trying my best to manipulate it minimally through the week. I don’t pick it out cause that’s just breakage. In the mornings I gently fluff with my fingers, maybe a mist of water, a drop of oil or a tiny dollop of moisturizing product on the ends. I’m planning on washing it weekly, gently blowing it out and doing a pineapple at night. I’m making sure my headboard are silk and not too tight.
I’m not doing weekly wash n go’s with gel. I’m not going to stylists who convince me to chop inches off my hair every visit. No shade to those who do, but those methods didn’t work for me. I suffered through jacked up hairstyles for two years trying to master techniques I just had to accept I’ll never figure out. My stylist told me to come back in 8 weeks and she will give me a dusting.
I have grown out my hair to this point in the past and I realize this is where I usually start taking in breakage and losing length.
I feel like I have l have turned a corner in understanding my natural hair. It likes to be left alone. It likes being stretched. And it surprisingly likes being blow dried. I was against stretching and blow drying for years so this was a legit surprise for me.
Anyway, my message to anyone struggling with their hair is just to try different things and do what works best for you. It’s not going to be the same as everyone else!

2024.04.22 01:51 Lumpy_Ad7076 Having a sew in emergency 🆘!!

Hi girls!
My 16th birthday is 4 days away and im already have hair issues😓
I want to have a frontal GLUELESS sew-in because I do sports but I'm having trouble finding tutorials or updated versions. Then I have to buy the rest of the bundles I ordered an 18-inch frontal but since my mom does 2-3 bundles on me I don't know which length of bundles I get next. Also, I want to dye all of it to a dark plum color but I'm having trouble finding the dye. Then since I couldn't fit a stylist I had to do the installation but I had to pluck and bleach, etc. In addition, I live in an area where there aren't a lot of beauty supplies and most of them are EXTREMLY outdated, like stuck in the 2000s (6 in my town), and theyre very expensive and really rude (one of the owners kept raising the price and lying to my mom when we were in one of them and call her fat ). Most of all hair is a very important part of me and if it's not done / not what I wanted I get upset I don't want that for my 16th birthday (mostly do if I get presents or not I JUST WANT TO GET MY HAIR DONE☹️☹️)My mom said she's not going to help me so I'm on my own
Any tips?
And before you say anything I choose frontal because I like to style my hair in different hairstyles!
Edit: Questions:
With a glueless sew does my frontal have a chance of sliding off while running? ( IM CLEARING THE WHOLE AIR OUT IF IT HAPPENEDS😭😭)
I have seen people saying to use melt spray or makeup. Which one should I get based on me doing sports?

2024.04.21 17:04 thegirl70slove Struggling with transitioning

So this has been the 1200 time I’ve tried to go natural, and I’m about to give up and just straighten it until I leave my house. I haven’t had a touch up since earlier this yeaor last year, and my mom wants me to get another one. Obviously, she knows I don’t want to get one, but she still suggests for me to do it, I agree bc going back and forth is too complicated for me and I just don’t care. She told me that I needed to get a touch up now, but when I go on my trip w/friends I can decide what I want to do…like oh so now I can make my own choices…
I tell her I don’t want one when she calls me back, and she asks me what my end goal is. I say “to have natural hair”. She then tells me that she cant let me have natural hair if I don’t take care of my hair now. I’m transitioning…she wants me to slick my edges down (I wouldn’t say she has an obsession with edges, but she wants me and my sister to do it a lot) and gel it, put a scarf on, etc. She wants me to know how to do different hairstyles, which I can’t really do bc I’m not too good with my own hair (and she knows that bc if she doesn’t like my hair looking a certain way if I do it myself she’ll try to persuade me to let her fix it). I don’t know how to braid/cornrow, neither does she.
She tries to tell me that being natural is “hard work” and you can’t be lazy, you have to moisturize, have different types of products, know how to do your own hair. That makes me upset bc I know that isn’t true, knowing what I know from girls that actually hair natural hair. I can’t tell her that bc she thinks she knows more about natural hair than I do, and if I do explain something like when she said I had to gel my edges down while im doing transitioning hair styles, I said it doesn’t make any sense bc it’ll shrivel up, and I don’t feel like I have to do them everytime I do my hair, she said “that’s why you tie your hair down”, and that I need to stop wearing just bonnets and starting wearing my scarf, which I do agree w/ some points she has but she just says really outdated stuff like “you can’t just do nothing to your hair if it’s just natural”, she has this weird thing where she thinks natural hair needs a hairstyle all the time, or your just not doing anything w/it. She thinks certain protective hairstyles are appropriate for certain events either.
I understand where she’s coming from to an extent and she said she wants to support me, but when I can’t tell her what I know is true, and I have to apply her definitions of “natural” to myself, it makes this not even worth it. I feel like I have no grace, exploring, can’t have any mistakes. I was thinking about getting a natural sew-in but I’m just sick, I know it sounds dramatic, but this doesn’t have to be hard. I feel like I’m being lazy, but I’m 18 (I’m a commuter uni student) and I should choose how I want to deal w/my hair…

2024.04.15 00:47 neipier Looking for a hair salon for very curly/coily hair

I've seen a few suggestions for curly hair or barber salons, but are there any hair salons for coily hair? I don't want a blow out or straighten my hair or a sew in. I want a place that takes care of the hair and does natural hairstyles.

I recently tried the Ombre Braiding Hair extensions and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and easy to install they were. The synthetic fiber is soft and feels just like real hair! . I appreciate the hot water setting feature that allows me to change styles without any hassle.
However, I noticed that the hair tends to tangle quite easily, which can be a bit frustrating. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile and comfortable hair extension.

🔗3X Bohemian Curl 14'' Glance Braiding Hair (Dark Burgundy)

I've been trying out the 3X Bohemian Curl 14 Glance Braiding Hair by Model Model in Dark Burgundy, and it's been a game-changer for my hairstyle routine! The slightly tighter curls of this bohemian curl make my hair look fuller, giving it a voluminous, natural look that I just love. The best part yet? These braids are so easy to separate, creating a seamless and realistic finish. Plus, they're versatile too, perfect for that butterfly loc style. It's safe to say this braiding hair has quickly become my new go-to.
However, there's one minor drawback I've noticed. The color, Dark Burgundy, is not as vivid as I expected, appearing more towards the burgundy side rather than being a true dark burgundy. If you're looking for a brighter, more intense version, you might be left wanting. But for those who prefer a more subtle shade, this one is right on point.
Overall, the 3X Bohemian Curl 14 Glance Braiding Hair by Model Model offers a great way to bring some extra fullness and glam to your hair, making it a worthwhile purchase. Plus, you don't need to worry about it being too tough to work with as it's super easy to separate. The natural curl pattern and voluminous result make it a perfect companion for styling different types of braids. So, if you're in search of a braid extension that's both stylish and easy to manage, this Dark Burgundy braiding hair could be the one for you!

I recently used Tiana's Passion Twist Hair for a hair makeover and I've got to say, it was a game-changer! The 10-inch long passion twist braids were incredibly soft and stylish. Using the pre-twisted hair extensions made the installation process a breeze, even for beginners. I also appreciated the high-quality, low-temperature Kanekalon synthetic fiber, which made the braids look and feel natural.
The hair was not only lightweight and tangle-free, but it also had no unpleasant odors. I felt confident and stylish wearing these braids to both daily activities and special events. Tiana offers four beautiful colors to choose from, so I could find the perfect shade to complement my outfit and personal style.
The only downside I experienced was the limited color options, but I understand that more colors and sizes will be available soon. Overall, Tiana's Passion Twist Hair has made my hairstyle routine so much easier and more enjoyable, and I would highly recommend it to others looking for a versatile and stylish hair option.

🔗Queen B 50" Braiding Hair

If you're looking for the perfect addition to your hairstyle, look no further than Urban Beauty's Queen B braiding hair! This high-quality, 50-inch braid has earned its place as some of the best available on the market. The braid is made with such care and quality, it truly feels and looks just like real, human hair.
One thing that stood out to me was its pre-stretched quality, a feature that made styling super easy and effortless. It's made with Remy texture and can be styled with hot water curls, so you're not limited to braids only. It’s also virtually tangle-free, making it a breeze to use. Plus, it's lightweight, so it doesn't feel heavy or burdensome like some other braid brands.
What's more, the Queen B's color was consistent throughout and blended easily with my existing hair. The color you see online may differ slightly depending on the device you're using, but it's a small price to pay for such an amazing quality braid.
This braid has been a game-changer for me, making hair styling a lot more fun and less time-consuming. It's definitely a must-have item for anyone looking to enhance their hairstyle. However, I did notice it's a bit on the pricier side, but for such high-quality and lasting braid, I think it's worth the investment. Overall, I'd highly recommend Urban Beauty's Queen B braiding hair to anyone in need of a top-notch braid!

Additionally, the durability and ease of upkeep make it a top choice for those with a busy lifestyle.

You know how finding the right blend of human and synthetic hair for your braid can be a headache? . Well, I can tell you first hand that using Essence's #P1B/118 burgundy yaki bulk hair was a game-changer for me.
This hair is not only washable, but it's also heat safe, making styling a breeze. I'd been struggling with finding a hair blend that could withstand heat from my curling iron, but this one didn't disappoint. The color is vivid and bold, and the blend feels natural just like what you would get with human hair.
However, the only downside I found was that the color can vary slightly from one pack to another, but this is a pretty minor issue. Overall, I'm really happy with how my braids turned out using this hair. It's definitely worth a try if you're looking for a burgundy hair blend.

🔗32" Africana Mayde Braiding Hair - Dark Burgundy

I can't tell you how much I adore this three-pack of Africana Mayde Pre Stretched Braiding Hair in Dark Burgundy! The natural blown-out texture adds an extra touch of sophistication, while the non-slip texture keeps everything in place, making it perfect for hot water sets. It's incredibly lightweight, so it doesn't put any extra strain on your hands as you weave away.
On the flip side, I have to admit that there might be some tangling issues. However, this really depends on how meticulous I am during the installation process. If you're a bit impatient, you might encounter some tangles. But hey, we all know good things take time, right? Overall, this braiding hair is a game-changer. It adds the perfect amount of sass to any hairstyle, especially if you're going for that fabulous braid look!
As a user, I've recommended using around 4 packs for a full head, but of course, it's subject to individual preferences and head sizes. So, go ahead and give this a shot, you won't be disappointed!

As a hair enthusiast, I was excited to try out the Zury Synthetic Pre Stretched Hollywood 3X Braid in Yaky Triple Burgundy. The BELOVED BRAIDS COLLECTION appealed to me right away, and I was eager to see how it would perform. I have to say, this braid exceeded my expectations. The 100% AFRELLE(KANEKALON) was incredibly smooth, making it easy to lock and style without any tangling issues.
One of the best features of this braid is its manageability. Unlike some other products I've tried, this one was a breeze to work with. The VERSATILE EASY LOCK SMOOTH TOUCH made the entire process so much more enjoyable, and I appreciated the lack of snags and tangles while I was braiding.
However, there is one downside to this product. When I received my order, it was shorter than what I had anticipated. While it was not a deal-breaker for me, it would be helpful if the sizing was more accurately represented in the product description.
Overall, I am very happy with my Zury Synthetic Pre Stretched Hollywood 3X Braid in Yaky Triple Burgundy. Its smooth touch and easy-to-lock features make it a pleasure to work with, and I would definitely recommend it to fellow hair enthusiasts.

It's incredibly versatile too - I've styled it in ponytails, updos, and even as loose waves, making it a great addition to anyone's hair collection.
While I absolutely adore the Janet Collection Jungle Box Braid, one minor downside I've encountered is that it can become slightly tangled if not stored properly. However, this is easily remedied by properly detangling it before use and storing it neatly afterward.

Another major highlight of this product is its safety and security features. Being non-flammable and with itch-free materials, I felt confident wearing this braid all day long without worrying about any potential discomfort or safety hazards.

All in all, Janet Collection's Triple EZ Tex Pre-Stretched Braiding Hair has been a game-changer for me. Its unbeatable combination of comfort, style, and safety make it a must-have for anyone looking to elevate their braids game.

🔗Outre X-Pression Twisted Up Butterfly Bombtwist Braids - 18", Dragon Fruit

https://preview.redd.it/utv7vvt4qlsc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d53944667420d383bdefdd20960e488accc1dd3c
I've been sporting the Outre X-Pression Twisted Up Butterfly Bombtwist 18" for a while now and I am absolutely in love with this product! The moment I laid my eyes on it, I knew I had to give it a try. This hair truly stands out from the rest with its vibrant Dragon Fruit color that complements my skin tone perfectly.
The first thing that struck me about this hair was how incredibly soft and lightweight it is. Made with 100% Kanekalon material, it feels incredibly gentle on my skin and doesn't weigh down my head at all. One thing I've noticed is that it matches my natural kinks and curls incredibly well. It's designed to be ideal for butterfly locs, distressed locs, ponytails, and crochet styles, which makes it incredibly versatile.
Another feature that I absolutely adore about this product is that it's pre-separated and pre-fluffed, making installation a total breeze. I simply use a paddle brush or wide-tooth comb to brush out the curls until they become fluffy, and then I can easily install them without any hassle.
However, I have had some issues with tangling and shedding while using this hair. I've found that a mix of Bonfi Natural brand Oil Free Wig Shine (dark blue bottle) and Bonfi Natural brand Protector Spray helps keep it manageable and detangled.
Sleeping with the twists can be a bit of a challenge, but I've found that using a satin scarf helps to reduce friction and prevent frizzing. Overall, I believe that the benefits of this hair far outweigh its downsides, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and elegant crochet braids style that's easy to maintain and incredibly comfortable to wear.

So, imagine you're trying to switch up your hairstyle without the damage and upkeep of actual braids. I've been using this jungle braids wig and it's been a game-changer.
The length is exactly what I wanted, and the customization options are really cool, from different colors to a mix of both! . The braiding hair is super high-quality and looks really realistic.
It even comes with an adjustable elastic band to help get that perfect fit. The only downside is that it can only be pulled into a half ponytail, so if you're looking for more styling options, this might not be the one for you. But overall, I've been really happy with my jungle braids wig! .

I recently tried the Outre Crochet Braids X-Pression Twisted Up Bonita Butterfly Locs Coily Tip 12 and it's been a game changer in my daily styling routine. The first thing that stood out for me was how easy it was to install. Unlike traditional braids, these twist locs are pre- twisted, making the installation process a breeze. Plus, the fact that it comes with a coily tip means I can achieve that flawless blend with my natural hair.
One of the highlights of this product is its premium synthetic fiber. It feels incredibly soft to touch and looks so realistic. The color, too, is spot on - it's a rich, emerald blue that is definitely eye-catching. And while the color might vary slightly based on your screen resolution, the overall look of the locs is consistent and beautiful.
Another feature I absolutely love about these twist locs is how lightweight they are. After a full day of wear, my head never felt weighed down or overly burdened. Plus, the quick, long-lasting protective style they provide is noteworthy. I've had them in for over three weeks now and they're still going strong.
However, there's one con that I've noticed - it can be quite challenging to twist the locs perfectly at the roots. But with a little patience and practice, it's definitely doable.
All in all, the Outre Crochet Braids X-Pression Twisted Up Bonita Butterfly Locs Coily Tip 12 has been a fantastic addition to my hair collection. It's stylish, easy to use, and provides a long-lasting protective style. If you're looking to switch up your look without compromising on comfort and quality, this product is a must-try!

Imagine you're a fashion enthusiast who just discovered Outre Crochet Braids X-Pression Twisted Up Bonita Butterfly Twist Locs 20". You've been searching for versatile, lightweight braids that can give you a sophisticated or bohemian look. Well, your search has ended!
The first thing you'll notice is the 20" synthetic hair in a crochet loop style. It's not only easy to install but also super lightweight, making it comfortable for all-day wear. The variety of colors allows you to play around with different styles, from loose springs to tighter, polished coils.
However, there's a minor con to consider - the color of the image may slightly vary from the actual product due to screen resolution. But hey, that's a small price to pay for the stunning look these braids provide!
To keep your twists looking fresh and frizz-free, follow the care instructions provided in the packaging. Regularly washing and drying your hair properly will ensure longevity and maintain the beauty of your Twisted Up locs.

🔗3-Pack Nala Tress Butterfly Locs Synthetic Braids

https://preview.redd.it/6mc5sq57qlsc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7b83b4c66a164dd96efb54345315a489d87420b
As someone who has experimented with various protective styles, I must say the Janet Collection Nala Tress Synthetic Braids left me pleasantly surprised. I decided to give these a go as I was in search of a low-maintenance option for the summer, and these seemed like the perfect fit.
The first thing that caught my eye with these braids was their 100% hand-made detailing - making each strand unique and authentic. The three-pack bundles are substantial, with about 30 strands in each, which made my installation process a breeze. I was excited to see how the 'bob style' would look on me, and was delighted by the outcome.
However, not without a minor hiccup - some users reported problems with the loop sizes on these braids, particularly Ciera who struggled with the loops. While I didn't encounter this problem myself, it's worth noting.
The color selection is diverse, and I found the 'med brown' shade to be quite flattering. The synthetic hair is of premium quality, and the texture resembles real hair quite closely, which I really appreciated. However, some users mentioned that the shine level wasn't exactly what they expected, but it wasn't a deal-breaker for me.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving the Janet Collection's Nala Tress Synthetic Braids a try. The visual appeal is high, they're versatile and easy to maintain, and the quality is excellent, making them a worthwhile investment. Just remember to keep an eye on those loops!

FAQ

What are butterfly braids?

Butterfly braids are a type of braided hair extension that features a unique pattern resembling a butterfly's wings. They are typically made from high-quality synthetic or real human hair and can be attached to your natural hair using clips, tracks, or glue.

https://preview.redd.it/6okp5738qlsc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4386fceabbe5bab53b7b76b46451e6713ebcf56

How do you install butterfly braids?

To install butterfly braids, you can either use a sew-in method (weaving the braids into your natural hair with a needle and thread or a latch hook) or attach them with clips or glue. The installation process may vary depending on the type of extension used. It's recommended to follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer or seek assistance from a professional stylist.

How long do butterfly braids last?

The longevity of butterfly braids varies depending on factors such as the quality of the hair, proper installation, and maintenance. Generally, they can last between 4-8 weeks when properly cared for. To prolong their lifespan, it's essential to keep the braids clean, moisturized, and protected from harsh weather conditions.

Can I swim with butterfly braids?

While it's possible to swim with butterfly braids, it's recommended to take precautions to avoid damage. Wearing a swim cap can help protect the braids from chlorine or saltwater exposure, which may cause the hair to dry out or tangle. Rinsing and washing your hair as soon as possible after swimming can also minimize potential damage.

How do I wash butterfly braids?

To wash butterfly braids, first, dampen the hair with water. Next, apply a sulfate-free shampoo and gently clean the braids by massaging the product into the hair with your fingers. Rinse thoroughly with water to remove all traces of shampoo. Follow up with a moisturizing conditioner, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Rinse again and gently pat the braids dry with a microfiber towel or air-dry them.

How can I keep my butterfly braids looking neat and tidy?

To maintain the appearance of your butterfly braids, make sure to keep them clean by washing them regularly. You can also use an anti-frizz serum or oil to smooth down any flyaways or unruly baby hairs. Protecting your braids with a silk or satin bonnet or pillowcase can also prevent friction and frizz while you sleep.

What are some styling options for butterfly braids?

There are numerous ways to style butterfly braids, including half-up, half-down styles, updos, and ponytails. You can also add hair charms or beads to personalize your look. For a more playful and youthful appearance, consider incorporating colorful hair cuffs or ribbons.

How much do butterfly braids typically cost?

The cost of butterfly braids varies depending on factors such as the length, quality, and type of hair used. Generally, they can range from $50 to $200 or more. It's essential to shop around and compare prices from different retailers and stylists to find the best value for your desired style and budget.

How do I remove butterfly braids?

To remove butterfly braids, start by gently loosening each braid using your fingers or a rat-tail comb. Once all the braids are loosened, carefully unravel each one, being mindful not to tug or pull on your natural hair. If you used glue to install your braids, you may need to use a special glue remover to dissolve the adhesive before gently pulling the braids out. After removal, thoroughly cleanse, condition, and detangle your natural hair to prevent damage and maintain its health.

How can I prevent damage to my natural hair while wearing butterfly braids?

To minimize damage to your natural hair while wearing butterfly braids, ensure that the extensions are installed properly, without causing tension or strain on your roots. Regularly moisturize and condition your natural hair to keep it healthy and hydrated. Avoid tight hairstyles that can cause breakage or traction alopecia. When removing the braids, be gentle and patient to prevent unnecessary pulling or tugging on your hair.

They are less damaging to your natural hair due to the incremental braiding process, and they can last longer than other types of extensions, such as sew-in and glue-in.

https://preview.redd.it/91gmrwyri8sc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f5cd255b9493fd58c0f10b69c1fafbacd25c8d9

2024.04.02 17:08 caramel_thighhighs Hair style suggestions- excluding braids edition

Hi everyone!
I’m going on a trip next month to New York for a week with my mom and my birthday is in June. I really want to switch up my hairstyle but I have absolutely no clue what to do. I’ve been living in knotless braids for the past two years.
I’m tired of braids and I’m definitely not in the business of wearing my natural hair. I take very good care of my natural hair, but it’s too much work (both thick and long) and I don’t want to deal with it if it can be avoided. I also like somewhat low maintenance styles - pretty much why I’ve been living in braids. But I’m about to go on a really nice trip and turn 24 so I want to do something different. I’m dying to do something different. Even my coworker today asked me if I wear other styles other than braids.
I really want to try a sew in since I’ve never done it but it looks like something that might not work best for me. I’m super natural - I don’t even own a straightener and I’ve never had a silk press. I’m worried about my hair puffing up and ruining my hair style. I don’t like wigs since my hair never quit lays flat and it’s not very low maintenance or last very long. I also work in hospital leadership and have a management role so I don’t want a style that might bring me too much attention. With all this considered… it looks like the best option is braids. Which does make me quit sad. I’m tired of braids and I’m tired at the thought of dealing with my hair texture. I already pay extra because of my hair texture and length so I want a style that will last at least a month and that will make me feel pretty.
Any and all suggestions are welcome!

Damaged hair from hairstylist
I just want some advice on what you guys would do. I'm a natural but wanted a break so I got a closure sew in done by a hairstyle. I want to preface that I've had closure sew ins before and never had this experience.
I just had the sew in taken down by a different hairstylist because I could tell something was off. As she was unbraiding my hair, clumps of hair were falling to the floor, where the closure was sewn, my hair has broken off so much there might be 2 inches left, and I have a couple of bald spots now. The new stylist said she clearly cut parts of my hair accidentally, could see some of the old burn marks from a hot comb, etc.
I've scheduled an appointment with a dermatologist. But would you confront the original hairstylist with the damage that I'm now left with? Should I just report her? Should I attempt to get her to pay for my dermatologist through small claims. What would you guys do in my situation?

I made a Sunny Custom
I cut, dyed, & curled her hair, repainted lips & baby hairs, and just finished drafting & hand sewing the halter dress. I'm so happy with how she's turned out! I included an "in process" photo at the end.
Her hair was totally inspired by u/-SwagMessiah- I LOVE all the pics of her Ayesha & her Meline with their beautiful short hairstyles.
