I had two things I need help with regarding faerie dragons. The first is simple enough, I noticed you don't have stat blocks for them yet and I'm preparing an enchanted forest for my players. Could I please have some stat blocks for them?
The second thing is more complex. I'm planning to run an insect-themed game where my players play as 6-inch-tall humanoid bugs (bee people, ant people, centipede people, etc) and I'm going to use all your excellent giant beast monsters as a starting point.
But I want to include a faerie dragon encounter at this level, and this is where you come in. I don't know how to make a Tiny, CR1-2 monster into a Huge CR17 BBEG. The easiest way would probably be to adapt one of your existing monster stat blocks to this end. What do you think?

Dark Cloud is my favorite PS2 game. There are dungeons where you fight enemies and progress through the floors, you can upgrade your weapons for the multiple characters you collect over the course of the game, and, my favorite part, you help fix different towns around the world, you can ask the citizens about their requests to fix them up even better. My question is, what games are like this? Dungeon crawler + town management/repair with an interesting story. Dark Cloud 2 is already on the list.

Bit of info I have ptsd, different past traumas Mum of 4 F 39, my mums always been obsessed with my eldest son. (long story but she manipulated him and caused him to be difficult, willing to answer questions). A few years ago I found out via a lot of different people that for a while my mum and sister were telling people and my side of the family all these crazy lies, I confronted her and she blamed my son, told me to have a stroke,(I’ve chosen to walk away) went to my son and made him not talk to me, my nan (who was my world) ended up in hospital she did message me to say and I asked her to keep me updated. She didn’t I next get a message from my aunt - my mother had told her I had ignored her message and didn’t care and that my nan was dying. I sent evidence that I had replied and also had messaged my dad but she wouldn’t accept. She puts stuff up on fb all the time about me (I haven’t got fb), she played games with my nans will, she uses my son (21), but he sees I’m the bad guy she’s destroyed my relationship with him he ignores me 99% of the time, he doesn’t bother with any of us (infact his behaviour I think he’s a sociopath). But I can’t walk away from him. I’d like tips or advice as I’m still so angry I want to forgive for me but I can’t, I also know I’ll never forget what my mum has done. Sorry for the length

Its the age of internet or I should say, IT, the world has changed at a rapid rate in past 15 years, especially post 2010 and then after Jio's free internet gamble, the internet connectivity and dependence has increased. I being, 27, I spent atleast first 10-12 years of my life, without phone, without internet and it seems like a totally different era now.
Now, hardly anyone comes in sreet and play, most kids can use phone at 3-4 years, they can open Youtube, they can play games (though its fault of parents), most kids are socially awkward and are exposed to so muvh irrelevant information from a young age, including porn, nudity , social media - likes and follow concept and social image.
Parents too, are addicted to phone, mothers or fathers, everyone has a social media account, they post pictures, they put status, they change dps ever other day, and kids learn from that. The stability and patience has vained. The longevity in relationships is fast vanishing. Adultery is becoming common, if not physical atleast virtual.
One thing I have observed is that, attitude of parents towards children has changed alot. Like especially in people married after 2017-2018, they are very casual about children and children are being seen as burden. And they are not being raised well. Most often, in India, if mothers are not workinh they primarily look after children but now a days they busy making reels and seeking validation on internet and men are not far behind, they also have their own internet presence (I mean Indian men are infamous for sliding into dms) and children are being seen as irrelevant suddenly or mostly a content (like a puppy) to be put on reels or facebook.
Other thing is, children are learning this behaviour of seeking social validation, this addiction to likes and followers from their parents and they are also being impacted by clothing trends online. Children are being exposed to so much without filter and this is also leading to premature sexualization of them.
For example, an example, my great aunt got a Indian salwar kamiz for one of my nieces as a gift on Diwali and her first reaction (she is 7) was "cheeee, i want skirt, ye nahi dalungi, ye aunties dalti hai"
Like for a kid to have such an opinion and she associating clothes to age, is making them more judgemental and more desperate in the society. Many times kids are walking and dancing and acting like adults. Its like they are so eager to get old. Kids are watching problometic content at 9-11 now a days.
Third is, parents and children are not talking and Indian parents already talk less but in Indian society setup where children are overly dependent on parents its leading to communication gap and fracturing relationships in long run. And though society is same and setup is same but viewpoint has changed leading to more frustration.
Fourth is, Indians are feeding on western content alot which also some how makes them feel like a misfit in Indian subtext and the way they think is American but their reality is Indian, like on reddit, most edgy teens hate on parents and want full freedom, but like their American counterparts they dont do part time jobs and neither will support themselves after 18, so they are learning these things blindly without understanding their own state.
Fifth is, identity politics, children especially teens are getting brainwashed ideologically, they are becoming more intolerant, they all have identity now - caste, religion, gender, nationality, ideology, when I was 13-14, I never cared for these things. .Only got to know about reservation in Class 11 lol. So, these things are making people intolerant.
Sixth is mental health crisis, double lives - one on internet and one in real and no real friends.

Scene: Wednesday and Enid are hanging about in their room, both reading - first upside down in her armchair, latter lying on her belly across her bed. There's a knock on the door.
Enid: Come in!
Bianca: (peeks in) Hey.
They greet her. Thing waves at her friendlily.
Bianca: (entering) Just wanted to drop by and ask if there's been any news from the town.
Wednesday: None. No new sighthings at all.
Bianca: Ah. Alright. (she waits for another moment, then turns to leave)
Enid: Wait.
Bianca turns to her.
Enid: You can stay for a bit.
Bianca: Actually, I have to ... (she stills for a moment, thinking) ... you know what, that's fine.

Enid: Well, they didn’t add her skill and ability to focus as a healer that her mother has too in film 1, but they added it significantly in the second one… so you get the impression Prim matured this way when Katniss was absent, which still works for me.
Bianca: And that she’s just not a hunter like her sister, but a really needed healer. Which is great. The series does point out that everyone is good at something else. And how much Katniss needs her as the story goes on. By the end, their roles are almost reversed.

Until 5 years ago. 5 years prior to the event of the campaign, the 3 largest nations to the North developed a device called "The Arcane Anomaly Pacifier," (TAAP). Which is a ring of three large towers that every 6 months, can stabilise the leylines in a small enough area over the ocean to provide safe passage for a fleet of ships. The first of these crossings was named "The Exodus."
Since then, 9 other crossings have been made into the new lands. You, the party find yourselves on the 10th crossing. Leaving from whatever life you had before, into new prospects of employment. Were you running? Hiding maybe? Or even someone down on their luck in search of new horizons! You have accepted the job of Expedition Security for an eccentric Gnomish scientist named "Odana Gerrul." She believes that there is more to this southern wasteland than meets the eye.
Rumours of an artifact with the power to control the flow of magic run rampant within the new colonies as ruins of who came before are starting to be uncovered. Will your party be the ones to unlock the secrets of the new world? Or will the mystery swallow you up whole?

First published in the 1980s, the The Belgariad series of five books by David Eddings is rightly regarded as a fantasy classic, and still holds up well today. The five titles it includes are Pawn of Prophecy, Queen of Sorcery, Magician's Gambit, Castle of Wizardry, and Enchanters' End Game.
The basic storyline of the series sees the young boy Garion finds himself going on a quest with an old but wise and good sorcerer (Belgarath), and his elderly daughter (Polgara). Their mission is to recover the magic Orb which ensures peace and security for the West, but has been stolen. Behind this is the evil god Torak, who must be defeated. But along the way, Garion not only joins forces with many fine companions, but also discovers that his own identity is much more than he ever could have expected.
This series is a fine example of classic fantasy, and while Eddings is clearly indebted to Tolkien in many ways, it's also obvious that he is writing from his own context in which the Cold War with the USSR was alive and real. The books are also free of foul language and blasphemy, and anything inappropriate is merely alluded to at most, so even younger teens could read it. The distinction between good and evil is also very clear throughout.
The introduction to each book notes that Eddings was inspired to write these books in order explore some philosophical and technical aspects of the fantasy genre. Apparently he wrote the series after taking a course in literary criticism, and had the aim of using many stock characters and ideas but within an original world of his own.
Given his aim to create a standard fantasy story, but one that was engaging, in my opinion he has succeeded. He is clearly working with many staples of the genre, including hero figures and a quest to recover a magic item that will lead to a kingdom of peace. But unlike many other fantasies, his world isn't filled with fantastic beasts in the first place, but with interesting characters. The unique contribution Eddings especially makes to the genre lies in the rich theology he has invented, with a pantheon of gods. Their role and activity is an important background to the novel.
Whether it was deliberate or unconscious on the part of the author, it is evident that he does draw on many themes also found in the Bible. For example, a key element of the story is the role of a special Prophecy, which has come from the gods and is certain to come to pass, even though the characters themselves don't always understand all aspects of it. Garion himself is a Messianic figure, and there are some interesting questions about how he must come to terms with his own identity. I also found the spiritual struggles of Relg fascinating, as he tries to come to terms with his own struggle with desire and lust, and constantly sees it in a spiritual way.
But in the end, this is in the first place a good and entertaining story, served in a traditional fantasy mould. I enjoyed it enough to want to read The Mallorean series, which is a follow-up series of five books set in the same world and with many of the same characters. Unfortunately that wasn't quite as good. There are also two individual follow-up books (entitled Belgarath and Polgara respectively) but these are only worthwhile if you really want to know more about the characters. The truth is the AI could not test for our existence from within his reality because he is confined to his physical reality, there is nothing of our reality in his reality for him to test. His expectation of using empiricism to search for the ultimate reality is flawed.
A priori - if he was less arrogant he could have deduced that the binary is not a self-sufficient cause - why does it exist instead of nothingness. He could have further concluded that his reality may be an illusion, a simulation. He could have finally concluded that there must be an eternal, self-sufficient, self-explanatory ultimate reality that gives all reality its presence. He could have believed in God.
I bring up this example to make you question your comfort in denying the existence of an ultimate reality due to lack of physical evidence within our reality - it’s an illogical expectation. The only way we can learn something more about the ultimate reality beyond what we have logically deduced a priori, is if the ultimate reality communicated with us and told us - therefore demonstrating the need for revelation.

I predict that the game takes place on one big world, like in Prime 1/2
The game will be centered around Sylux and his Metroid plan
The federation force might get a reference, or we might even see a mech
The movement will be faster and more action based
I predict beams to be stackable, and have selectable beams. Like in Samus Returns for example
And here’s my biggest leap of faith. I think there will be a time travel component to the story
The story might involve the Ylla or N’kren Species
The conclusion of the story might directly be tied to Samus Returns, that the federation decided to end all metroids on SR388

After a year and a few months of playing (mostly) weekly games, summer has returned to Icewind Dale after the death of Auril and Cryonax.
Our party:
Within this Act the party met the goblins of Foaming Mugs, explored the haunted Gem Mine in Termalaine, killed both the wendigo assaulting citizens of Lonelywood and the yetis atop Kelvin's Cairn, protected the Easthaven Town Hall from simultaneous break-ins, and were killed by the Summer Star.
The early quests are a blast, each with their own little stories or things to explore. Though a lot of them within my Act 1 were just to expand the world and allow the PCs to meet the various NPCs within Ten Towns. I found this to be a good starting to point on how they might approach Destruction's Light in the future.
Receiving a letter from the Soothsayer, the party learnt of Xardorok and were informed of the Duergar Outpost at the base of Kelvin's Cairn. This led them to the Easthaven Ferry to find the other Sunblight child, who tried his best to escape the party's grasp. Heading into the spine of the world, the party encountered the Id Ascendant and eventually made their way to Sunblight Fortress where Vellynne Harpell was introduced.
At the end of Act 2, the party would become the 'Heroes of Ten Towns' managing to save only two of the towns from destruction but warning the citizens ahead of time, allowing them to escape unscathed.
Sunblight and Destruction's Light were fun as hell to run
Exploring the Lost Spire of Netheril allowed the party to find the location of the Glacier Entrance and eventually explore the Caves of Hunger. While Tekeli-li was fun to haunt the party with, the big reveal within the Caves was Cryonax a.k.a. The Thing in the Ice and originator of Cursed Chardalyn. Learning this, the party knew that Auril wouldn't be the only 'god' they fight within Ythryn.
After exploring most of the Towers of Magic, putting an end to the Zhentarim and Arcane Brotherhood, the party explored the Spire and met Iriolarthas after hearing about him over and over. While it was a difficult fight, they defeated him and went on to use the Mythallar to end the Endless Winter. Quickly, they found themselves against Auril, but after Kithkin sacrificed himself to put an end to Auri's 3rd form, the party were safe. However the looming threat of Cryonax weighed in their mind.
Heading back into the Caves, they found Cryonax within a large throne room made entirely of ice, and after defeating a few of his minions their final fight broke out. However, with the weird magical effects suffused within Cryonax, the party found themselves Plane Jumping and teleported back in time to previous fights they had had (as well as other effects). With Erret getting the final blow on Cryonax, everyone was brought back to present-day Ythryn and summer returned to Icewind Dale.
I'm a huge fan of this module, despte some of it's rougher areas and quite large prep times. I ended up adding a lot of homebrew elements from different sources across the internet to make Icewind Dale my own. Feel free to ask what additions I made to the module.

- Acacia Duskhollow (Phantom Rogue): Laid the ghosts of her past to rest after killing those that were responsible for the death of her friends. (fuck Naerth and Skath). Would go on to give the money she saved up to the poor.
- Brennan Frosthowl (Chronurgy Wizard): Put an end to the god that saved him in his youth. Obsessed with the Obelisk he found himself travelling back in time to the age of Netheril, leaving his soul in a Magic Jar at the top of Kelvin's Cairn for his future friends to find.
- Erret Nimblemantle (Beast Barbarian): Learnt about the creatures that made him into what he was today, and finally rolled above a 1 on his damage die.
- Kithkin Boladash (Cavalier Fighter): Heroically gave his life to kill Auril, jumping into the Mythallar with her in tow to save his friends. His mount, Spitfire Skaarl, carries on his will.
Act 1: Ten Towns (Chapter 1)
I ran the early quests fairly as is, but minimised the sandbox-y nature of them. I always felt that if the 'correct' quests weren't seen or completed then Chapters 3 and 4 just get sort of thrown onto the party with little warning. So, using Cold-Hearted Killer as an overarching quest, the party found themselves wandering over to the quests that I felt were fun and/or necessary for the future story.Within this Act the party met the goblins of Foaming Mugs, explored the haunted Gem Mine in Termalaine, killed both the wendigo assaulting citizens of Lonelywood and the yetis atop Kelvin's Cairn, protected the Easthaven Town Hall from simultaneous break-ins, and were killed by the Summer Star.
The early quests are a blast, each with their own little stories or things to explore. Though a lot of them within my Act 1 were just to expand the world and allow the PCs to meet the various NPCs within Ten Towns. I found this to be a good starting to point on how they might approach Destruction's Light in the future.
Act 2: Sunblight (Chapters 3 & 4)
I treated the Black Cabin quest as a transition to learn more about chardalyn (which was unknown up to this point), and introduce the duergar into the story more. The party learnt of various break ins and strange activities that haunted Caer-Konig, Easthaven and Termalaine, with the only clue being footsteps within the snow.Receiving a letter from the Soothsayer, the party learnt of Xardorok and were informed of the Duergar Outpost at the base of Kelvin's Cairn. This led them to the Easthaven Ferry to find the other Sunblight child, who tried his best to escape the party's grasp. Heading into the spine of the world, the party encountered the Id Ascendant and eventually made their way to Sunblight Fortress where Vellynne Harpell was introduced.
At the end of Act 2, the party would become the 'Heroes of Ten Towns' managing to save only two of the towns from destruction but warning the citizens ahead of time, allowing them to escape unscathed.
Sunblight and Destruction's Light were fun as hell to run
Act 3: Ending the Endless Winter (Chaters 5, 6 & 7)
Using the quests from Chapter 2, and the help of Vellynne, the party learnt of the Island of Solstice and the Codicil of White. Heading their they fought Geluvicken and collected their prize. Erret became a 'Chosen of Auril' accepting her challenge to receive her blessing and succeeding.Exploring the Lost Spire of Netheril allowed the party to find the location of the Glacier Entrance and eventually explore the Caves of Hunger. While Tekeli-li was fun to haunt the party with, the big reveal within the Caves was Cryonax a.k.a. The Thing in the Ice and originator of Cursed Chardalyn. Learning this, the party knew that Auril wouldn't be the only 'god' they fight within Ythryn.
After exploring most of the Towers of Magic, putting an end to the Zhentarim and Arcane Brotherhood, the party explored the Spire and met Iriolarthas after hearing about him over and over. While it was a difficult fight, they defeated him and went on to use the Mythallar to end the Endless Winter. Quickly, they found themselves against Auril, but after Kithkin sacrificed himself to put an end to Auri's 3rd form, the party were safe. However the looming threat of Cryonax weighed in their mind.
Heading back into the Caves, they found Cryonax within a large throne room made entirely of ice, and after defeating a few of his minions their final fight broke out. However, with the weird magical effects suffused within Cryonax, the party found themselves Plane Jumping and teleported back in time to previous fights they had had (as well as other effects). With Erret getting the final blow on Cryonax, everyone was brought back to present-day Ythryn and summer returned to Icewind Dale.
I'm a huge fan of this module, despte some of it's rougher areas and quite large prep times. I ended up adding a lot of homebrew elements from different sources across the internet to make Icewind Dale my own. Feel free to ask what additions I made to the module.

So ima start by saying I like Elden Ring. I’ve been a fan of FromSoft since DS1 and even tho I always sucked at souls games I had fun with them. The only one I beat was Bloodborne and that was because I got help from a buddy but I’ll still take that as a W.
All that said, I don’t understand why Elden Ring got so popular. When it was announced I was personally excited and I remember it being the most anticipated game for that year but I thought it was only past DS fans. I figured it would get a decent buzz of new players but it absolutely blew up. I was puzzled then and I’m puzzled now lol I understand there were a few new mechanics with the mimics, the horse, a true open world and actual co op this time but it’s still a regular souls at the end of the day.
Does anyone kno why the game got as big as it did? I’ve always been curious as to why it attracted so many new players. It was a fairly niche genre from Demon Souls all the way to Sekiro so what made ER gain so much attention?
And no I’m not trying to downplay anyone’s love for the game and say you’re not a true fan if didn’t like it from the start. I’m just very intrigued about the matter.
