2024.06.09 05:16 doobnooboobloob The Ancient Kingdom is…

…Drum Kingdom, right?
It seems a little obvious to me now, but when you think about it, One Piece was originally supposed to be a much shorter story, and when we get to the scenes were Professor Clover is about to reveal the name of the Ancient Kingdom, we all seem to agree it makes sense that it would be something that we would recognize. Otherwise, they would’ve just said the name of the kingdom.
I think that the entire backstory of Chopper and Dr. Hiriluk is actually foreshadowing for what happened in the Void Century between Joyboy, the 20 allied nations, and Imu. I feel like it all just clicked in my head recently, and feel free to add to this, but I think that Wapol is supposed to be a representation of Imu, the 20 doctors are supposed to represent the 20 nations that comprise the world government, Dr. Hiriluk is supposed to represent Joyboy, Chopper is Zunesha, and Dalton is Queen Lily. Save a few details that change between the two events, I think the parallels hold up.
With the revelations in the latest chapters, it seems pretty clear that Joyboy was attempting to solve the energy problem that caused conflict throughout their world, similar to how Dr. Hiriluk was trying to find a cure to mans sickness. Stick with me; in the same way that Dr. Hiriluk’s desire to cure mankind’s illness threatens Wapol’s power, and, indeed, would threaten to put the 20 doctors out of business, Joyboy’s desire to create infinite energy threatened the power of the 20 kingdoms and of Imu. Put another way, Dr. Hiriluk’s dream to cure the world of its fatal illness, which later becomes Choppers dream to be the panacea that cures the world of all its illnesses, is a direct metaphor for Joyboy trying to solve world conflict by creating infinite energy. A panacea would reduce if not eliminate the need for doctors, who Wapol monopolized to force the citizens of Drum to submit to his will, lest they be denied access to medical care. Similarly, an infinite source of energy would remove all justification for resource based conflict between nations, removing the dependency of citizens on their nations to access energy.
If this is true, then the scene where Dr. Hiriluk dies, where Wapol tricks Dr. Hiriluk into believing the kingdom was in danger because the doctors were sick, foreshadows Imu and the 20 allied nations deceiving Joyboy into fearing for the safety of the world, tricking him into the circumstances that would ultimately lead to his death. It would be at this moment, similar to Dalton, that Queen Lily realizes that she has pledged her loyalty to the wrong side, which is why she ultimately betrays Imu. However, devastated by the loss of Joyboy, Zunesha attacks Drum Kingdom, which I believe is the ancestral home of the Minks. This mirrors the way Chopper attacked Wapol and his men, only to be stopped by Dalton. Anyway, back to Zunesha; holding Drum Kingdom and the Minks collectively responsible for the death of Joyboy, Zunesha commits an act of genocide by destroying their home, which was at one time the giant trees we know today as the Drum Rockies. In this parallel, we also get something of an explanation for Chopper’s name; Zunesha, his parallel, chopped down the trees of Drum. Queen Lily, wracked with guilt over her decision to betray Joyboy, but otherwise of a sound mind, punishes Zunesha for his act of genocide, charging him with caring for the displaced Minks who survived the attack until the day he can restore them to their homeland.
I think this is a crime worth the punishment of several centuries and also why the Minks currently live on his back. He awaits the day that he can arrive at “that place” to finally rest and I think that that place is one where the Minks can find a new home, one that was similar to Drum Kingdom; Elbaf. The reason why I think it’s Elbaf is because we pretty much know that there is a, if not several, giant trees on the island already, and I think the reason we haven’t seen Elbaf yet, even from a distance, is because it’s an exact mirror of Drum Kingdom, but without the trees cut down. In any case, I believe Elbaf was able to be protected over the centuries because of the strength of the Giants, whereas Drum Kingdom fell to the powers that be. Furthermore, I think the reason that Elbaf is ‘Fable’ spelled backwards is because it’s supposed to become the new ancient kingdom, or the new promised land of liberation; a multiracial land of equality open to all, and free from the illnesses of the world caused by competition over resources due to it’s access to great technology, something many would regard as an impossible dream, or, a ‘Fable’ if you will. Think about it; we know that the sky islands are accessible via Elbaf, right? I think that similarly, Skypeia used to be accessible through Drum Kingdom as well. If Drum is the Ancient Kingdom, it would almost have to be; a great nation with advanced technology that was home to all the races. When Zunesha chops down the trees of Drum, he affects more than just the Minks; he cuts off the Skypieans from Vearth, which is why the Skypeians end up fighting a centuries long war with the Shandians once Jaya is shot into the sky, but I digress. I also think that explains why the Giants have been waiting for the return of the Sun God Nika, because they have been acting as the protectors of his new kingdom over the centuries, believing that he would once again return.
This brings up some interesting questions I think we might consider; why Drum? Simply put I think that Drum Kingdom used to be the original home of the devil fruit trees, trees that would eventually grow the devil fruits that would allow the world to stop fighting for resources. You know that saying that money doesn’t grow on trees? Imagine if the solution to all of mankind’s problems did. Something else to consider here as well is that I think the commonly held belief that there can only be one of each type of devil fruit is a lie. I think that this is something that Dr. Vegapunk sort of proves, even if imperfectly, when he re-create Kaido’s fruit. The reason why I think this is important is in regards to the infinite energy source that Vegapunk was attempting to re-create, but couldn’t. I think the reason why he couldn’t re-create the energy source was because it wasn’t a standalone invention like the Mother Flame. I think, quite literally, the infinite energy source is the Mera-Mera no mi, once held by Ace and now possessed by Sabo. If the Mera-Mera no mi is the infinite energy source, and if multiple copies of the same devil fruit can exist at the same time, then you would simply need o grow the fruit as many times as necessary to provide energy to all who needed it. I think this fits even symbolically when we can think back to the fight between Ace and Blackbeard, where darkness, or the Void Century, consumed the Sun, or the infinite energy source meant to end all wars. Now, with Sabo in control of that power and the revolutionary spirit to use it, we may see him use the ancient weapons in attempt to defeat Imu and the world government. Whether or not, this is a good thing remains to be seen, as he could very well be repeating the mistakes of the past. Something else to consider regarding the Mera-Mera no mi, if it truly is the infinite energy source, is Ace’s execution; the stated reason for his execution was the fear of his potentially as Roger’s son, and the loose association between his fire ability and the possible reincarnation of the Sun God, but what if it was actually an attempt to recapture the devil fruit capable of powering the Ancient Weapons? We don’t really have a clear explanation of how the fruit ended up in Doflamingo’s possession, but between him being the broker of the underworld, a Warlord with access to the World Government, and knowing about the ‘national treasure’ of Mariejois, it wouldn’t surprise me if using the Ancient Weapons, in addition to body-sapping with Imu, was a part of his scheme for world domination.
Another sort of interesting take I have is that I believe that Imu was acting, not necessarily in self-defense, but with an interest that’s less evil than we would think; I think that with the rapid development of technology in the ancient kingdom, Imu saw the harm that was being done to the earth, and wanted to prevent that harm from progressing and so, in a manner of speaking, cut off the head of the snake of that progress, who was Joyboy. This is why we always see Imu in the flower room, as he has a great respect for nature and will protect it at all costs. I think that Imu might have been trying to protect the world from the negative consequences of the ancient weapons, specifically that were being developed, which were causing the sea levels to rise, and maybe in the service of that protection, became corrupted, deciding that he could use that same power to rid the world of all those he considered sinners. If the infinite energy source is supposed to be a metaphor for nuclear energy, I think it makes even more sense. Anyways, I think Imu used the eternal youth surgery in order to watch over the world to ensure that no one would ever discover or use the infinite energy source again. As far as Imu is concerned, preventing the proliferation of infinite energy is a cause noble enough to justify genocide, hence the Gorosei asking him which lights need to be extinguished to protect the world order. In taking on this role, Imu prevented the ‘evils’ of infinite energy, by becoming a different evil than the one he sought to prevent; in Imu’s mind, I’m sure he constitutes the lesser evil. Like Dr. Vegapunk says it’s difficult to say which of the competing ideologies was correct and which one was wrong, if one was evil and if one was not, or if they were both maybe partially correct and partially wrong.
Anyways! That’s my hypothesis. Thoughts, comments, concerns?

2024.06.09 05:15 YeahImHeadingOut Times Square Pizza: A food guide from a food guy.

Hey Neighbors.
The best NY pizza joint in town is flying way under the radar. I’m sure a handful of you know about it, but it's not nearly as busy as it should be. If I didn't want this family owned business to do well I might not even post this. It’s right down the road from my house and is never very crowded. My high top by the window is pretty much always available and I’d hate to lose my seat!

Times Square Pizza

Located at 101 Elmsley Meadows Ln. This literal mom and pop shop is slicing up some seriously top notch pie. You can order online HERE. It's way down South Elm Eugene, almost in Pleasant Garden so I think it gets missed a lot. But if you know, you know. They are doing it right on the south side.
Whether you are getting 2 slices and a drink ($9) or one of their comically enormous whole pies, I can promise that you won't be disappointed. Amazing crispy undercarriage, not too heavy on the sauce, and never skimpy on the toppings. Honestly I just get plain cheese half the time. It's so damn good. They’ve also got great pasta and decent subs too. Plus it's dinner and a show. It’s owned by an Italian family and it's like walking into a sitcom. The dad’s name is Mario for god's sake. He’s always belting out Italian songs I've never heard of or playfully fussing at his son who works there as well; whacking him on the back of the head. Mom is so sweet and never lets you clear your own plates–So warm and friendly, but you can tell she's got a fiery side too if the boys get to outta line. It’s Bob Burgers, but pizza. It’s Mario’s Pizza…It’s Times Square Pizza
Oh, They’re closed on Monday’s which I always forget until I pull up so check 'em out another night!
Score: 9.4/10 I’ve eaten pizza all over Greensboro these last 20 years and I’m pulling up to Times Square 9 times out of 10. Yeah, Mario’s is good. Yeah, L'italiano's is good. Yeah, Yeah, Homeslice, right right, I know, Cugino Forno. Go give Times Square a try. Its pizza you'd walk down a dangerous alley in Hell's Kitchen for and be glad ya did. You won't be disappointed
I'm more active on Instagram! If you like my content, Add me @ zaccamcorder. I post lots of food, movie, and music recs. Plus lots of content on DIY projects, art, gardening, working out, and raising awareness for adults with IDD and mental health challenges.

2024.06.09 05:15 Substantial_Reveal22 Adding a second switch to a bedroom

Adding a second switch to a bedroom
I’m not even sure if I’m asking the question correctly, but, I’m looking at adding a second light switch to a bedroom or 3. Each of the 3 bedrooms are all 10x10. The house is 7 years, so, all of the wiring is up to date. Do, neutrals in every locations.
Here’s the question. I’m trying to find out what the best way to wire a second switch, or more so just adding a 2 gang box in the single pole locations. The rooms currently don’t have any existing lights. The switch works the half hot on the other side of the room.
I don’t really care about keeping the half hots if I’m going to add overhead lights to the room. I’m looking at adding what the builder was offering when I had the house built. One of the options was to add a 4 pack of LEDs into each room, but, it was like $600 per room, and not only did I not want to spend the money, I just didn’t plan on doing anything with them as they were all spare bedrooms. I’ve been using the rooms more, lately, this year and now, I’m thinking it’s something that would be a nice little project to do. I have a decent working knowledge of as I just replaced 12 other switches with Lutron smart switches and dimmers. A few of them were more complicated 2 and 3 gang 3 and 4 way lights on multiple circuits in the same box.
I haven’t pulled the switches to see what I’m up against, but, I’m going to guess that there a line coming in, and a load going out to the switch.
Second question, is, should I just convert the switch to work with the overhead lights, running an additional load wire, and flipping the half hot to just a standard outlet? Or should I actually install a new 2 gang box and run a separate load to the LEDs?
Third, I’ve only worked with requiring switches, and have read a lot about code, and what needs to be followed. So, I’m most interested in not Jerry rigging anything. I definitely want it done correctly. Adding a 4 pack of LEDs would only be adding 60 watts to the circuit, or 120 if the room across the hall is on the same breaker. Either way, there is nothing plugged into any outlets and there’s no lighting in any of these rooms, currently. The picture of the lights I’ve attached, is what’s currently installed in the rest of the house. I would need to cut the holes and install J boxes to wire up.
Also, I’ve never installed multiple lights, together, so, I’d be interested in the best way to wire these all together. I’m assuming you’d wire them in series. Are you wiring from switch to load, into a junction box and then out from light ti light to light, to light?
Thank you in advance for any replies.

🔗Summit 180 Max SD Climbing Treestand for Hunting - Ultimate Spaciousness and Comfort

https://preview.redd.it/f211fswwqg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89643886390091ce61b29bef3c0f1cd7f11f716a
Over the past few months, I've had the pleasure of using the 180 Max SD Climbing Treestand by Summit while hunting in the great outdoors. Firstly, I must say that this treestand is incredibly spacious and comfortable. It can safely hold up to 350 pounds, including gear, without any issues. But more importantly, the design and build quality are top-notch.
One of the main highlights has been the Surround Seat, which is not only adjustable but also allows me to face the tree for added versatility. The seat frame and foot platform are generously sized, ensuring all-day sits are a breeze. However, one could be disappointed by the use of foam and polyester materials, which can be a bit less durable when compared to older stands.
Another pro of the 180 Max SD is its Quick Draw cable retention system, which has proven to be very useful. The inclusion of Dead Metal Sound-Deadening technology is an added bonus for quieter operation.
However, one minor con that I have discovered is the discomfort caused by the arm rests and rail cover design. These features require using zip ties to install, which can be a hassle and frustrating to manipulate in the field. I have found myself preferring the prior methods which utilized Velcro or three separate pieces for better ease of assembly.
Overall, the 180 Max SD Climbing Treestand has been a reliable companion during my hunting adventures. Its comfort, versatility, and safety features make it an impressive choice for any avid hunter. Sure, there have been a few minor hiccups, but the pros far outweigh the cons, and I'm looking forward to making many more memories with this treestand in the coming seasons.

🔗Quiet and Sturdy Aluminum Climbing Treestand for Hunting

https://preview.redd.it/b3fqw3mxqg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0168f20db1eadf09f2d361bfc039a46a4dd19215
The API Outdoors Alumni-Tech Magnum Climbing Treestand is a durable and roomy option for hunters who need extra space. Made of welded aluminum, it offers a quiet, stable, and sturdy climbing experience. The 21 x 27 top climbing section includes a padded climbing bar, armrests, and adjustable seat for ultimate comfort. The treestand comes with backpack straps and cinching straps, making it easy to transport. Additionally, it includes an accessory bag and a DVD from the Treestand Manufacturers Association.
One of the highlights of this treestand is the weight capacity of 350 pounds, providing a safe and sturdy experience for hunters of all sizes. However, the stand weighs 34 pounds, which can be more challenging to carry into the woods. Another minor issue is the presence of multiple straps and cinching points, which may require some time to adjust and set up properly.
Overall, the API Outdoors Alumni-Tech Magnum Climbing Treestand is a comfortable and secure option for hunters seeking a roomier, quieter, and more stable climbing experience. Although it is heavier and requires some adjustments during setup, its durability and added features make it a worthwhile investment for avid outdoorsmen and women.

As someone who enjoys spending long days in the woods hunting, I recently gave the Ol' Man AlumaLite CTS Climber a try. This tree stand instantly stood out to me thanks to its lightweight and compact design, allowing for silent transportation through the forest. Once set up, it proved to be a sturdy and comfortable option, perfect for my hunting needs.
One of the standout features of this climber is its ComforTech mesh seat, which provides both comfort and support during those extended hunts. The adjustable foot straps made entering and exiting the stand a breeze, while the high-strength oval cables ensured stability and security while climbing.
However, despite these positive aspects, I did encounter one minor issue. While the stand was easy to set up, the included instructional DVD could have been more detailed, especially for those who may be new to using treestands.
Overall, the Ol' Man AlumaLite CTS Climber is an excellent choice for hunters seeking a lightweight, comfortable, and secure tree stand to use on their hunting adventures.

🔗Vulcan Climbing Stand with Backpack and Safety Features

When I first tried out the Vulcan Climbing Stand, I must admit, I was a bit skeptical. But after a few weeks of using it, I've gotta tell you, it's grown on me. Sure, it's not the lightest thing to carry around, but once you get it set up, it's stable as a rock. I love the wide foot platform – it makes me feel like I'm standing on solid ground even when I'm a few stories up in a tree.
The seat cushion is comfy enough, and I particularly appreciate the safety-lock cinch straps that keep the bottom half locked in place when I'm climbing. It makes the whole experience a lot more secure, especially when I'm hunting. And speaking of hunting, the built-in shooting rail is a nice touch too. I can get a nice, steady aim on my target without having to worry about my stand wobbling or moving.
Now, let's talk about a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, the straps securing the seat could be a bit longer. When I got the stand, they were a bit tight around my legs, which made for an uncomfortable sit. And as for carrying it around, well, it's definitely not the lightest load I've ever had to carry. But, considering the trade-off for a stable, secure stand, I can live with the extra weight.
Overall, the Vulcan Climbing Stand has more pros than cons. It's a solid, reliable option for any hunter or tree enthusiast looking for a stable, comfortable stand. It might not be the lightest option around, but it's certainly worth the extra weight.

🔗Lightweight Supremacy Climbing Treestand with Padded Seat and Zero-Gravity Foot Platform

https://preview.redd.it/llovnhkzqg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d77674a1fddaf24a0f07988a4df9bacd9eb3a59
I've been using the API Outdoors Supreme Climbing Treestand for the past few weeks, and I have to say, it's a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, I love how lightweight it is. The aluminum construction and expanded metal grates make it incredibly easy to carry around, especially when I'm hiking through the woods.
The padded climbing seat bar is a great feature, allowing me to ascend trees comfortably without worrying about my back. The 20W x 12D zero-gravity seat is also quite comfortable, providing a perfect resting spot for my hunts. One of my favorite aspects is the 20W x 28D base of the Supremes foot platform - it's so sturdy and solid, providing a reliable footing when I want to stand up.
However, there are a few downsides to this treestand. Firstly, I've found it to be rather tippy when I'm climbing, especially if I'm carrying any extra gear with me. I've had to use ratchet straps to secure it to the tree, which is an extra step I'm not fond of.
Secondly, the base of the stand requires a strap that's difficult to attach, especially when I'm up in the tree. It's one more thing to consider and can make the setup process a bit more cumbersome. Another issue is that I've noticed the quality of the components has gone down in comparison to the older models.
In conclusion, the API Outdoors Supreme Climbing Treestand is a good option for those looking for a lightweight stand. However, it has a few drawbacks that can make it less than ideal for some users.

🔗Lightweight Climbing Tree Stand for Quiet and Comfortable Setup

https://preview.redd.it/nkxpdr50rg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9b7b8be7f226fd33ca5b5abce366dbbf44692dc
For a while now, I've been using the Alumi-Tech Bowhunter Climbing Treestand by API Outdoors for my hunting trips. As a bow hunter, I value stability and quiet setup, along with ultimate comfort. I must say, this stand has exceeded my expectations in almost every aspect.
The all-aluminum construction of the treestand is impressive, providing a lightweight yet sturdy frame that can handle the weight of a hunter. The quick-adjustable, power-gripping climbing chains make for a silent and solid setup, which is a crucial factor in bow hunting. The traction ridges on the platforms ensure a firm grip, giving hunters confidence in their footing even during more challenging climbs.
One of the features I appreciate most about this stand is the padded armrests. As someone who spends hours in the tree, the added comfort makes a huge difference. The inside climber dimension of 19W x 20D is perfect for providing ample room for a hunter to comfortably sit after a long ascent.
The downsides? Well, there are a couple. For instance, I find the stand to be a bit more cumbersome to pack together compared to some other models I've tried. Additionally, I haven't found it to be as adjustable as some of the competitors' designs, which could potentially lead to some difficulty in customizing the setup to your liking.
All in all, the API Outdoors Alumi-Tech Bowhunter Climbing Treestand is a solid choice, offering a combination of stability, comfort, and ease of use. While there are a few drawbacks, they haven't negatively impacted my overall experience with the product. In my opinion, it's definitely a stand worth considering for any bowhunter out there.

🔗Ultra Comfort 18' Ladder Tree Stand for Hunting Climbing

https://preview.redd.it/1u68pcr0rg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=047ce8a4cd86e0ad4db30383e252ab6f0cfd81f9
Recently, I had the opportunity to try the Guide Gear Ultra Comfort 18' Ladder Tree Stand while going on a hunting expedition. As a hunter, I was excited to test this product's durability and comfort during my trip.
Upon seeing the ladder, I was impressed by its steel construction, which instantly gave me confidence in its sturdiness. The stand has an adjustable, flip-up shooting rail, which is particularly useful for those who like to switch between sitting and standing positions during their hunt.
The stand's mesh seat was another feature that stood out to me. Not only did it conform to my body for exceptional comfort, but it also prevented me from feeling weighed down, even after hours of sitting. The padded shooting rail was equally comfortable and easy to adjust for a perfect fit.
The ladder tree stand also has a large foot platform with a fold-out footrest, making it easy to rest and maneuver during my hunt. However, I did notice that the weight capacity of the stand was only 300 lbs. , which might not be ideal for heavier hunters.
In terms of weight, the stand weighed 77 lbs. , making it relatively easy to transport and set up. The instructions were straightforward, and I managed to assemble it within an hour by myself.
Overall, my experience with the Guide Gear Ultra Comfort 18' Ladder Tree Stand was mostly positive. The stand's durability, comfort, and ease of use made it a reliable choice for my hunting expedition. While there are a few minor drawbacks, such as the weight capacity and the confusing instructions, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a comfortable and sturdy tree stand for their hunting needs.

I was thrilled to try out the Summit Titan SD climbing treestand, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The extra-long foot platform and spacious extended top section were perfect for my tall frame, providing ample room to maneuver while climbing and hunting. The dead metal technology ensured that I remained undetected, allowing me to focus on my hunt without worrying about disturbing any wildlife.
One feature that stood out to me was the rugged and lightweight aluminum construction. Although lightweight, the Titan SD never felt flimsy, and its durability made me feel confident in its ability to withstand the rigors of hunting. The comfortable padded seat, which adjusts up and down for both bow and gun hunting, was another highlight, making long hunts a breeze.
However, there were a few drawbacks to using the Titan SD. The zippers used to attach the padding were quite noisy and difficult to install, which was a bit of a letdown considering the otherwise high-quality build. Additionally, I found the climbing angle of the stirrups to be less than ideal, making it harder to climb and maintain balance while ascending the tree. Lastly, the back straps could be improved, as I worry about their elasticity wearing out over time.
Despite these minor issues, the Titan SD climbing treestand truly shines as a comfortable, sturdy, and quiet option for hunters. Its innovative features and user-friendly design make it an excellent choice for anyone seeking an exceptional hunting experience.

🔗Lightweight, Versatile, and Mossy Oak Camo: Summit Viper SD Climbing Treestand for Bow and Rifle Hunters

https://preview.redd.it/8enypzn1rg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=288b9a675724ecaaa33fdc61315197751c5a3acb
I recently tried out the Summit Viper SD Climbing Treestand for the first time and I have to admit, it was a game-changer compared to the traditional hunter's blind I used to rely on. Weighing in at just 20 pounds, the Viper SD is incredibly lightweight and easy to maneuver, making it perfect for my hunting on the go.
One of the standout features of the Viper SD is its padded arm rests, which made it incredibly comfortable to rest my elbows while waiting in the tree. I could easily sit for hours in this treestand without feeling the slightest bit of discomfort. The Foam seat style also added a lot of comfort during my hunting sessions.
However, like any product, it wasn't perfect. The Viper SD's attachment method, using a cable, felt a bit flimsy and less reliable than I would have preferred. My grip on the front bar felt a little uncertain at times and I could imagine it potentially slipping. But overall, I found this tree stand to be quite sturdy and secure once it was set up correctly.
The Viper SD's low weight and compactness made it incredibly portable, which is a significant advantage when it comes to hunting in different locations without having to lug around extra weight. I was also impressed by its adjustable seat height, allowing me to easily switch from seated to standing positions when needed.
One downside, though, was the noise it made when setting it up or taking it down. This might spook game nearby and I had to be mindful about moving around the Viper SD. Additionally, the nesting frame and backpacking feature added some extra steps to the overall process, making it more time-consuming than I'd prefer.
Despite these minor issues, I found the Summit Viper SD Climbing Treestand to be a reliable and comfortable option for all my hunting needs. It gave me the agility to move between different hunting spots without being restricted by the size and weight of traditional stands. Overall, it's a handy piece of equipment I'm glad I decided to invest in.

🔗Durable and Quiet Climbing Tree Stand for Field and Stream

https://preview.redd.it/vcua8m42rg5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e4111240607f1f75c7247d41795ee4038096c71
I recently had the chance to use the Summit Viper Steel Climbing Stand during a hunting trip, and I must say, it was quite an experience. The stand itself is surprisingly lightweight and compact, making it easy to carry around, especially for those of us who have to hike long distances to reach our hunting spots. The QuickDraw Cable Retention System worked seamlessly, allowing me to securely attach my gun while climbing up the tree, giving me that extra peace of mind.
One of the standout features for me was the dead metal sound-deadening technology - it truly made a difference in minimizing the noise I made when moving around in the tree stand. This feature allowed me to get much closer to my game without startling them. Additionally, the harness and accessories included with the stand were a nice bonus, ensuring that I had everything I needed for a safe and comfortable hunting experience.
However, there were a couple of cons that I encountered. The first issue was with the carrying straps. While they were lightweight and easy to pack, they dug into my shoulders when I was carrying a heavier load. Although they were functional, I found it necessary to invest in a more comfortable and sturdy set of straps for my future hunting trips.
The second drawback for me was the weight rating of the stand. Although it was capable of supporting up to 300 lbs, it was significantly heavier than some of the other tree stands I've used in the past. This extra heft made it more challenging to carry and required additional effort when setting it up in my tree stand.
Overall, the Summit Viper Steel Climbing Stand offers excellent value for its price and provided a comfortable and practical hunting experience during my trip. Its lightweight design, quiet operation, and thoughtful accessories make it a great choice for those looking for an affordable and reliable tree stand for their hunting adventures.

I recently tried out the Ol' Man Multi-Vision Steel Climbing Tree Stand, and I must say, it's a game-changer in the world of hunting. The first thing that struck me was how lightweight and portable it was. This made carrying it through the woods a breeze. Another feature that I loved was the comfortable mesh seat. Despite spending long hours in the stand, I never felt uncomfortable or uneasy.
One of the things I appreciated the most about this tree stand was how versatile it was. Whether I was using it for gun or bow hunting, the stand easily accommodated my needs. The construction was top-notch and built to last. I felt safe and secure while using it, even in the most challenging weather conditions.
Now, onto the negative. I did face a few issues while using this tree stand. The first problem I encountered was set up. It took me a while to figure out the best configuration for my specific hunting needs. Additionally, at 4.2 stars, some users have reported that the stand isn't the most suitable for those on the heavier side, which might impact the overall comfort for those individuals.
Overall, I was quite satisfied with my experience using the Ol' Man Multi-Vision Steel Climbing Tree Stand. Its lightweight design and versatility make it a top contender for hunters seeking a reliable and comfortable tree stand.

2024.06.09 05:10 Significant-Price847 170k net worth 23

Hi guys, I’m 23 work full time and have a side gig on the weekends . I have 105k in HYSA, 31 k Roth IRA, 24k taxable, and 10k in 401k. I’d like to buy a house but I live in Boston. The houses are insanely priced . I only make 70k a year pre tax . Currently live at home and my rent is super cheap. Does it make sense to keep saving for a house ? Or to take a good chunk of change out of my HYSA ? I would like a house but it seems hopeless in my area. So I don’t want to be holding more cash than I should . Thanks for you input .

State Press - Kelowna Federal Territory, Borealis

The Salish: A Deep Dive into Borealis' Southwest Coast Nation

"It is the job of the shaman to travel to the underworld to save the individual by recovering the soul while it is travelling between the two worlds."

While many other Nations Major are united by ethnicity or culture, the Salish are unique in that their unity comes primarily from their language. Originally a very diverse group of hundreds, if not thousands, of related languages, the advent of large-scale communication, media, and interconnectivity has reduced what was previously a web of mutually-unintelligible dialects into two large amalgams known as Coast Salish and Interior Salish.
Like many facets of the Earth, the borders of the Salish are ever-changing and unclearly defined, but for territorial and political purposes, the nation covers the West Coast up to what was formerly the border between Canada and Alaska, and snakes throughout the interior of former British Columbia. This territory includes Vancouver Island, the archipelago of the Haida (which are a unique and lingustically-distinct group), as well as innumerable small outlying islands and fjords of the Pacific coast.
The nation's capital is Vancouver (S'ólh Téméxw), always one of the largest and most prestigious West Coast cities but now an even more important hub for tourism, finance, arts, and business. While S'ólh Téméxw is the traditional First Nations name for the area that eventually became the city, the name Vancouver is kept for legal and political purposes, as well as for familiarity. Other major cities of the Salish include, in descending order of population, Victoria (Camosun), Nanaimo (Snuneymuxw), Kamloops (Tk'əmlúps), and Prince George (Lheidli T'enneh).
While English remains the most-spoken language within Salish territory, efforts are made to keep alive the Coast Salish and Interior Salish languages. Many people choose to use real-time, artificial intelligence-driven translation tools to translate English into one of the two languages, responding in kind. The languages have a medium degree of mutual intelligibility, making conversation between speakers of both possible at a basic level. In smaller communities, efforts are made to record individual dialects and little-spoken historical languages that may otherwise face extinction.
The Salish respect and treasure the land, even beyond that of Borealis at large, which is very ecologically conscious itself. Efforts are made to continue the use of traditional materials in the modern day, even where more cost-effective and readily available materials exist. These include Red Cedar, or the tree of life due to its longstanding historical importance to Salish peoples, which remains a staple of construction and is being replanted in droves to keep up with construction demand.

GALLERY: A red cedar home in the Salish interior, constructed with traditional techniques and building materials but according to modern architectural trends

In the above example, note the small footprint of the house in contact with the ground while the interior space of the home is much larger. This is a cornerstone of modern Salish architecture - minimizing the impact on the land itself while providing the maximum space for living. Note also the lack of a distinct footpath to the house, Salish prefer to use either floating paths or suspensor-levitator boots to minimize damage to the forest floor.
The interiors of buildings are typically decorated with Salish art, integrated into the walls themselves through carving and painting as opposed to more traditional Canadian dwellings, which feature art hung on the walls as an ornament. This reflects the worldview of the Salish people, such that our livelihoods and existence is dependent on, and totally in harmony with, the land.

GALLERY: The interior of a Coast Salish building

GALLERY: An art installation and living gallery north of Ts'msyen Territory (formerly Prince Rupert)

Modern Salish fashion blends elements of streetwear with traditional Salish artistic designs and patterns. Heavy inspiration is taken from traditional Salish clothing, though with alterations to make material use more sustainable and suitable for human use. Many types of eco-friendly materials are used, such as recycled plastic bottles, bamboo linen, and hemp.
To color clothing, Salish manufacturers use a variety of sustainable dyeing practices, with dyes primarily made from natural sources, instead of synthetic. These can include crushed flowers, beetles and other types of insects, and byproducts from food waste. Water purification technology is employed in dyehouses and textile manufacturers to ensure a minimal impact on the environment, and the byproducts disposed of in a sustainable fashion.

GALLERY: A pair of young Salish citizens in traditional dress

GALLERY: A young Salish man

The cornerstone of Salish spirituality is the Shaman, who conducts a wide range of activities within Salish society to assist people and bring good fortune to the community. First and foremost, Shamans are responsible for guiding and guarding the spirit of the Salish people, which may become lost in the void. It is believed that the spirit of the Salish community as a whole was lost during the erosion of our culture by European settlers over the past several hundred years, and it has only been through the focused work of the shamans returning them to the overworld that we were able to reclaim our land from the settlers.
Rituals and rites of passage are deeply important within Salish society, with the practice of ceremony after the first catch of salmon each year being among the most popular. Great respect is given to the animals that give their lives for our food, and shamans bless the spirit of each and every animal killed for human subsistence, guiding the animal's spirit to the afterlife where it may live in harmony for eternity.
Shamans act as high-level advisors, medicine men, and spiritual guides to the upper echelons of Salish society. Much of our political and socioeconomic policy is driven by the visions and advice of these shamans, who conduct regular trips into the spiritual realm to uncover the secrets of the world and ensure we are doing the best we can for our land and people.

GALLERY: Siyametl, a Coast Salish shaman

Salish prioritize respect for the land first and foremost, with respect for people and our elders following closely along. Salish society is one of giving, generosity, and mutual aid where community holds it together. Even in large cities like S'ólh Téméxw, where the hustle and bustle of city life can make one forget their community, shamans and other community leaders work to bring people together for a harmonious and mutually respectful society.

2024.06.09 05:05 YeahImHeadingOut Times Square Pizza

Times Square Pizza
Hey Neighbors.
The best NY pizza joint in town is flying way under the radar. I’m sure a handful of you know about it, but it's not nearly as busy as it should be. If I didn't want this family owned business to do well I might not even post this. It’s right down the road from my house and is never very crowded. My high top by the window is pretty much always available and I’d hate to lose my seat!

Times Square Pizza

Located at 101 Elmsley Meadows Ln. This literal mom and pop shop is slicing up some seriously top notch pie. You can order online HERE. It's way South Elm Eugene, almost in pleasant garden so I think it gets missed a lot. But if you know, you know. They are doing it right on the south side.
Whether you are getting 2 slices and a drink ($9) or one of their comically enormous whole pies I can promise that you won't be disappointed.
Until next time!

I recently got my hands on the Viper Driver Q-4 Microtune Dovetail Sight, and it has quickly become an invaluable tool in my daily hunter's life. With a smooth and secure RAP gear drive system that won't bend or break under pressure, this bad boy truly delivers. Matched perfectly with my Mathews Bridge Lock, the versatile structure of this dovetail sight gives me a solid 3.5 inches of travel for precise adjustments.
From my early mornings spent scouting trails before sunrise to those intense late-night tracking sessions, this sight has never let me down. I recently got a chance to test out the Redline RL-3 5 Pin Sight while going on a weekend trip, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. The. 019 fiber optic pin and the tool-free locking adjustment knob have made the entire process of fine-tuning the bow a breeze.
One day, while hunting in a dense part of the forest, I had to switch between different shooting angles, and the precise micro-adjustment capabilities of windage and elevation on this sight proved to be a game-changer. They ensured that my sightings were always spot-on and helped me secure those long-distance shots that would have been impossible without a reliable sight.
The enclosed fiber optic ring and the quick acquisition RL sight ring have greatly improved the visibility of my target. Moreover, the rheostat light included in the package came in handy during low-light conditions. The ability to accommodate a 48mm lens only adds to its versatility.
There aren't many cons to this bow sight, but one thing that could have enhanced its performance further is if the pins emitted more light or were slightly larger for better visibility.
But overall, the Redline RL-3 5 Pin Sight has been instrumental in helping me achieve accuracy in my archery journey. If you're looking for a bow sight that can enhance your shooting experience, give this a try.

I've been using the Redline RL-Torch Dovetail Sight for a few weeks now and I must say, it's been an absolute game-changer in my hunting expeditions. The two-pin design with all green illumination has significantly improved my accuracy, especially when shooting at different distances.
One feature that really stood out for me is the internal rechargeable light. Not only does it save me from buying and replacing batteries all the time, but it also reduces the weight of the sight, making it much easier to handle on long hunts. I also appreciate how customizable the adjustments are - from the different pin sizes to the micro-adjustable knobs.
However, there are a few minor drawbacks. The dial can be quite stiff and noisy at times, which can be slightly distracting during intensive hunting activities. Additionally, the durability of the sight is a bit questionable compared to other models I've used in the past. Lastly, not having a manual was quite inconvenient, especially when I had to figure out the setup and adjustments by myself.
But overall, I'd give this sight a solid 4.5 stars for its performance and features. If you're looking for an affordable yet reliable sight that delivers excellent accuracy, the Redline RL-Torch Dovetail Sight is worth considering.

As an avid hunter, I've gone through my fair share of sights, but the HHA Optimizer Lite x XL Sight truly stands out. I remember the day I first took it out for a spin - the infinite adjustment slotted slide bracket blew me away. Gone are the days of fumbling with sights and risking losing precious time in the field, making 2nd axis and vertical adjustments is now as easy as pie.
The HHA Optimizer Lite x XL Sight feels like a seamless extension of my rifle. Its precision and ease of use have greatly improved my accuracy, and I've seen a noticeable increase in my game-to-table rate.
One thing worth mentioning is the durability of this product. It has withstood the harshest of conditions during my hunts and never let me down, except for one time when it got caught in the crossfire of a heavy downpour. I wish it was weather-resistant to handle any situation.
Overall, I would highly recommend the HHA Optimizer Lite x XL Sight. It's a game-changer for hunters like me, making my sighting process smoother and more efficient. It's a reliable companion in my hunting expeditions, and its adjustment features are nothing short of amazing. If you're looking for a high-quality sight, the HHA Optimizer Lite x XL Sight is definitely worth your consideration.

I recently tried the Landslyde Carbon Plus Picatinny Slider, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer for hunting enthusiasts. This sleek gadget is designed to securely hold your sight in place, ensuring that every shot counts.
One of my favorite features is the windage and elevation lock. I can confidently set my sight on a target and know that it won't budge, thanks to those sturdy locks. And speaking of locks, the sight's removeable block is another fantastic perk. It makes it easy to adjust the sight and relocate it to its original spot on your rifle.
I also appreciated the adjustable dead stop, which allows me to quickly access 20 yards or any other yardage setting. Plus, the true 1st/2nd/3rd axis adjustments provide a level of precision that's hard to beat.
However, there were a couple of cons to using this sight. I wish I had the crosshairs, as shown in the product description. And I must admit, it's on the pricier side. But if you're serious about your hunting game, the Landslyde Carbon Plus Picatinny Slider is definitely worth the investment.

I recently got my hands on the Viper Driver Q-1 Microtune Dovetail Sight 1Pin, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer in my shooting experiences. This little beauty is the perfect companion to my firearm, allowing for pinpoint accuracy and ease of use, whether you're a right-handed or left-handed shooter.
One thing I absolutely love about this microtune sight is its knurled elevation adjustment knob. It's sturdy and easy to grip, making it a breeze to fine-tune my aim. Plus, the 2" sight housing is just the right size to make sure I've got a clear, unobstructed view of my target.
However, don't get me wrong; this isn't a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. The Q-1 Microtune Dovetail Sight is designed specifically for those who appreciate a low profile when aiming. If you're someone who prefers a more traditional scope with a bulky design, this might not be the sight for you.
Overall, I'm super happy with my purchase of the Viper Driver Q-1 Microtune Dovetail Sight. It's made my shooting experiences much more enjoyable and accurate, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, reliable dovetail sight.

🔗High-Precision Picatinny Sight with Adjustable Dead Stop for Enhanced Accuracy

For the past few weeks, I have been using the Axcel LANDSLYDE Picatinny Sight Accustat II 5 Pin. 010 RH. This sight stands out with its true separate 1st, 2nd, and 3rd axis adjustments, providing precision for any target. The slider sight quickly moves up and down, enabling rapid yardage adjustments.
One downside is that the rapid adjust knob might need a small improvement for smoother operation, as its action sometimes feels a bit stiff. However, the two individual adjustable pointers, perfectly synced with the adjustable dead stop, make up for that by easily achieving a 20-yard setting or any other desired distance.
The CNC machined fire pins are rugged and maintain their quality. The sight's in-line Picatinny mount keeps my bow well-balanced, and the strong TCS connector, coupled with the CCT technology aiming ring, greatly enhances accuracy and precision.
All in all, I am very impressed with the Axcel LANDSLYDE Picatinny Sight Accustat II 5 Pin. 010 RH's functionality and promise. Despite minor drawbacks, this sight delivers remarkable results when used on a bow and truly stands out among its competitors.

🔗High-Performance Ghost Sight for Long Range Accuracy

For a while now, I've been using the Apex Gear Covert 4 Pin Light in my archery sessions. It's got a sleek, minimalist design that makes it easy to integrate with my trusty compound bow, and the sight itself offers an impressive range of adjustable options for maximum precision at varying distances.
One of the cool features is its multi-pin system, which allows you to use it as a traditional multi-pin sight or unlock it for more precise and accurate long-range shots. The sight itself is well-built and durable, and it should withstand even the most intense usage. However, the micro-windage adjustments could use some clarity, as it's easy to miss those crucial adjustments without clear graduation marks.
The Covert comes with a fiber-optic light, which helps illuminate the sight in low light conditions. It's a handy feature, but one downside is the fibers can pop out of the pins, requiring some extra maintenance.
Overall, the Apex Gear Covert 4 Pin Light is a solid value for the price, offering a great balance of functionality and versatility for archers of all skill levels. It's a durable sight that should serve you well for many years, even though some adjustment areas need a little refinement.

As someone who was in the market for a new fiber optic bow sight, I was excited to try out the Cobra Mini Phantom. Upon unboxing, the attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship immediately stood out.
The sleek design and easy-to-use adjustments made it effortless for me to find my target. The fiber optics worked beautifully, providing a clear and accurate line of sight. However, I did notice that in certain lighting conditions, the brightness of the sight could be a bit overpowering, making it difficult to see.
Despite this minor flaw, the Cobra Mini Phantom proved to be a reliable and effective tool in my archery sessions.

The AccuStat II 5 Pin sight stood out among its competitors due to its precision and durability. As a shooter, I appreciate how the sight offers true separate 1st, 2nd, and 3rd axis adjustments, providing unparalleled accuracy. The Picatinny in-line sight mount provides better balance and a strong connection to the bow. Additionally, the rapid adjust knob and quick release feature make fine tuning yardage settings a breeze.
However, some may find the AccuStat II's price point a bit steep. Overall, though, this sight is a worthy investment for those seeking unmatched precision and durability. With its various features, it's an excellent choice for shotgun enthusiasts looking to up their game.

In the world of archery, finding the perfect sight can feel like a treasure hunt. That's why I was excited to give the Torch a try. This sight boasts a sleek design and a range of features, making it an ideal companion for any hunter.
One of the most impressive aspects of the Torch is its versatility. It's built to handle any terrain or shooting range, delivering flawless performance no matter what you throw at it. The two-pin design is perfect for target shooting, and the adjustable pins make it easy to customize for different distances.
However, no product is without its drawbacks. While the Torch is a solid performer, I did encounter a few issues. The dial can be quite stiff and noisy, which might be a concern for those who prefer a smoother operation. Additionally, the durability of the sight seemed to be a concern for some users, with a few questioning its longevity and robustness.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Torch still managed to impress me. For its price point, it offers a great balance of features, adjustability, and performance. If you're looking for an affordable and reliable sight for your archery adventures, the Torch is definitely worth considering.

2024.06.09 05:03 alethiomancy [F4A] Long Term Atmospheric and Lore Heavy Fantasy/Romance

Hi there! I am desperately searching for more long term partners to roleplay with this summer. I have a few plot bunnies and pairings/moods already listed below, but if you have an idea send it my way! I’m down for almost anything.
*Me: * - 25+ F - 10+ years of roleplaying under my belt. - Looking for M/F and F// (M// is okay and appreciated for side characters and NPCs, though!) - I can write as little as a couple of paragraphs and as much as multiple pages depending on the situation. I will likely match your pace. - Third person past or present tense. - Active daily unless traveling. - Discord RP only please. - I usually main female and nonbinary characters, but I do like to play males as side characters and doubles. - OOC chatter. I like to plot a lot in OOC, share Pinterest boards and playlists, gush about our OCs and occasionally chat about life. - Plot comes first, but I definitely prefer to have some romance involved. Bonus points if there is slow burn/mutual pining/enemies to lovers/bad people making each other better (…or worse). All those fun tropes.
*You: * - 20+ - Interested in atmospheric, lore heavy world building. - Also down for a good laugh. I love the gritty stuff just as much as I love a good beach episode. - Semi-Lit to Literate. 2+ paragraphs, decent grammar, and give me something to respond to each post, not just responding to my character’s actions. - Willing to play side characters and NPCs - Can post every 1-3 days. Once a week if we are writing advanced lit. (If you can post multiple times a day on some days I will love you forever, but I know everyone has a life). - If you need to ditch for life/boredom/ other reasons that’s okay. Just let me know so I’m not waiting for a response. - The same goes for hiatus. If you need to take a break it’s cool, but if you wanna stay friends even better. I still love to talk, even if we’re not actively roleplaying on a daily basis.
craving* Bold = my character
Plot Bunnies: - The Hero You Created: A supervillain’s apprentice fakes her own death and moves to a city halfway across the world to become a hero. Years later, the Villain shows up in her new city and recognizes his former assistant in her new role.** - Gods and monsters: A world where gods make champions out of people, giving them powers and making them fight for influence. Gods open up dungeons (pockets in time-space) as arenas where champions compete in challenges based on the gods’ natures. My character is a champion who is trying to get stronger so she can ascend to the god realm and get revenge on a god that killed her sister. Your character is literally anyone you want. Demigods/other champions/anti-champions/cult leaders. Come build this world with me. ******** if you do this plot with me I will do anything you ask. Forever. - Ghost Adventures: A skeptic who is a ghost hunter by trade moves into a house and meets an actual bona-fide ghost. They must work together to set the ghost free. Alternatively, there is no mystery and they just go around solving other peoples’ mysteries. Or both. - Soulmates: A princess of dubious heritage forms a connection with an assassin who is targeting her. She finds them awfully familiar and for some reason they can’t find it in them to end her. - The King’s Maker: A faerie prince tricks a talented changeling into pretending to be a prophet for him. They go on a journey across Faerie to overthrow his father, the Faerie king. Along the way, they build a cult following. (Can be well-known faerie lore, but I have some Balkan inspired lore for this if you are interested) - Train: A human and some sort of supernatural train conductor (vampire, werewolf, fae, let your imagination run wild) investigate a string of attacks along a continental train route. They pretend to be a young, newly married couple to draw out the culprit, who is believed to be targeting young newly wedded women.
Pairings and word bank: - Witch x Demon - Witch x Witch Hunter* (message about plot for this) - Offering x Demon/God/Dragon/etc. - Reincarnated x Tyrant/Duke of the north/whoever (Bonus points if we can do doubles and play a “best friends/sisters/etc” get reincarnated together plot)* - Hero x Villain - Vampires - Various regional gothics - Mythology - Fake dating - Arranged marriage/contracts - Dragons - Cults - Cryptids - 70’s/80’s/90’s aesthetic - Retro-futurism - Solarpunk
This is getting long, so shoot me a DM if you don’t see a plot or pairing that you’re interested in playing and we can chat about it.

2024.06.09 05:02 ThrowRA1737282 My (22F) boyfriend (22M) got angry and said it was more peaceful when he was alone in front of his family. What do I do?

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost a year and I recently moved into his house with him about a month ago now. Not too long after we started dating I was offered a job in the city he lives close to and I’d start once I was done with school, so rather than I get an outrageously priced apartment he offered to let me move in. I agreed and was happy about it but throughout the months I felt a sort of tension at times when we would talk about the little things of me moving in like bringing my appliances and things like that. Another important detail to keep in mind is that about 2 months before we started dating his ex of 3 years broke up with him after only living together for a month. I didn’t think much of it at the time (sadly) until I moved in and it became more evident. He broke down to me one night not too long after moving in that me moving in so soon did worry him, that his ex had really messed him from having to move her in to pretty much immediately moving her right out again. But I assured him that this was what I wanted. But the tension still didn’t really lessen after that. So tonight happens, and I don’t want to go into too much detail on what happened in case he finds this post, but basically I got upset with him because he was being selfish about something while we were at his parents house. His parents and his sister were on my side and everyone trying to talk to him at once about it just set him off. He said that he hates everyone nagging in his ear, that it was so much more peaceful when he lived alone, and that he couldn’t stand it anymore. Obviously I was very hurt by this, and eventually made an excuse to go home. He ended up leaving with me (we drove separate) and that’s when we got into it at home. I broke down to him that if he wants me to leave then just tell me, but he said he was sorry and hugged me. And I asked if he meant what he said at his parents and he said that he doesn’t know what he means anymore. But thennn he starts sobbing hysterically saying that’s he’s fucked in the head and doesn’t know what’s wrong him. I’ve known that he has mental problems but never seen him this bad. And I want to help him as much as I can when he’s like this, but I’m not a therapist and I don’t really know what to say. Once he calmed down he asked if we could talk about it more tomorrow, which I agree is for the best. But now I’m just unsure what to do. I feel like now I’m not going to be able to get out of my head how be basically wishes I was gone but I also don’t want to leave him and leave the house I just moved into. I also don’t want to talk to my family or friends about it. If I could just get some unbiased advice I’d appreciate it, thanks.

2024.06.09 05:01 ThrowRA-thesmiles My (34M) GF (27F) only wants interact with me and no one else, what should I do?

Within the last 6 months of our relationship (at about 1 year now) My GF has gotten to a point that she only wants to deal with me and no one else as much as possible and may seem to be becoming agoraphobic to some degree. It has gotten to a point where I pretty much do all the grocery shopping and such alone, and on the off chance that she happens to come with me, she wants to get whatever we are doing done as soon as possible and leave back to the house.
I am also use to having some degree of space and time with friends and such, but when I'm not around, she seems to get not want to do much for herself or go out side or anything. and it feels like I have no space or sense of independence in the relationship anymore.
This was not the case in the beginning of our relationship and the issues were pretty much non-existent. So things were definitely happier in the past. The stresses of work and life in general seem to have contributed to this change in behavior as far as I can tell, and she has what I can imagine is a more liberal mind set (In terms of working for companies as being slaves to the companies and not having rights and freedom to live life the way they want and having to pay taxes and bills and such being a controlling aspect of the government.)
I still have love for her, but I feel like I am not in love with her anymore because of these changes, what should I do?

2024.06.09 05:00 Avian_Stalker How to attract crows to my backyard?

I’ve been putting out in the shell, raw peanuts every day for at least a week, and even when crows circled over my house today and watched from the tall trees behind my house, they didn’t fly down and check it out. Is there a better way to do this? I live in a suburban area btw.

2024.06.09 04:59 Disastrous-Stuff-268 Ernest Issues

Hey guys, so I put 6k down in earnest for a property a while back for house I was going to use for a 2yr flip/maybe duplex. The seller accepted my offer and then “his lawyer” would find an issue with something over and over and over. There was something sketchy going on with this deal and I ended up getting to know the seller personally and he’s a total con/wanna be politician/ developer. Long story short, he said he didn’t want to sell and I was sketched out with the deal so I had my agent send him a letter to sign saying we mutually agree to not move forward with canceling the deal…even though he broke the contract. I just wanted away from this guy. All the guy had to do was sign and I could get my earnest money back. I DID NOTHING WRONG. I wanted the house. The guy will not sign and has blocked my number. I’ve had to get an attorney involved but now I’ll have to pay him. WTF! Does anybody know of anything I can do?
Side note: My lender, agent, sellers broker, and title company said they’d never seen a deal like this and were all rooting for me and said the guy is crazy.

2024.06.09 04:56 Sumire_Chan0235 AITA for sharing my honest thoughts about my mother on my WhatsApp Status that made her family/friends question her about it?

(Trigger warning, blood)
This story involves me (F18), my mother (F48), and my sister (F16). For context, my mother is currently taking a lot of medications for her depression and overall mental health, and I have ADHD. We live in Spain, and English is not my native language, so sorry if there is any confusing wording.
It all started about a month ago when one day, not long after I had woken up, my mother suddenly announced that my aunt was coming to visit and to open the front door for her. That took me unexpected since I didn't expect any visitors that day, but I shrugged it off and went to open the front door for my aunt when suddenly I noticed that she had brought someone with her, her newest boyfriend. This made me deeply uncomfortable since I don't like having strange men in my house when I'm in pajamas and even worse when I'm not even notified when they're coming. I tried being polite to both my aunt and her boyfriend and escorted them to the kitchen, where my mom was waiting for them, but quickly left the room since I didn't want to be around them any longer. During my aunt's visit, my mother told me to take the cat litter box (we have a very big one that has an opening on the top and can hold a lot of cat litter inside) out of the basement and put it the backyard so she could clean it, and I did so (with a little bit of complaining since I was upset at her for bringing visitors without notice). Some time later, after my aunt had left, my mother told me to empty the cat's litter box in a trash bag so she could clean the box itself, and I refused to do so because it as could outside and I was still upset with her, and replied to her that I was going to do it later, when the sun shined brighter and it got a little bit warm outside. I didn't use bad words, I didn't use a nasty tone of voice, I just wanted to do it later. That's all.
Suddenly, something switched inside of her, and she had a massive anger outburst. She grabbed a broom handle (we use ones that are made of metal and are hollow on the inside, kinda like a pipe or something like that. not very resistant but will still hurt like hell if you get hit with one) and walked up to me to try and hit me with it. Scared for my own safety, I snached it out of her hands when she first tried to land a hit on me, and that probably made her angrier. So she left the room and came back with another broom handle and again went over to hit me with it, and this time, she succeeded in doing so. She hit me wherever she could land a hit on me, making me crouch on the floor and pleading for her to stop. One of the hits landed on my head, and after she was satisfied with herself she left, I got up and walked over to my sister, who I'm not sure if she had seen the whole thing, when she suddenly shouted "Blood!" and started freaking out. I looked down and saw drops of blood on the white tiled floor and rushed over the bathroom to check myself in the mirror.
Have yall ever seen those anime characters with blood running down through the side of their face? Well, I looked just like that. My sister, who was still freaking out at the sight of blood, tried to give me first aid and cleaned my wound the best she could while I got very angry at my mother and loudly asked her if she was proud of herself for making her own daughter bleed. She didn't say anything to me and started calling people on her phone to tell them her side of the story, with my father (M42) being the first of them and him also being asked to come to our home asap since he didn't live with us.
My dad appeared like 5 hours later, typical of him, and tried to get the whole story from both me and my mother. After first hearing her out, I got my opportunity to speak and finished telling my side of the story by telling to my mother that if she ever tried to hit me again I would indeed defend myself from her since I had experienced first-hand the results of her tantrums. Then out of the blue, she got super offended and said that I've had just threatened my own mother to hit her, and didn't even gave me the opportunity to try and explain myself that I was just talking about self-defense when she suddenly jumped at me again (like foxy from fnaf 2 lol) and started trying to beat me up again. However this time I didn't let her try to hurt me again, and desperately tried to push her away, especially since she was trying to pull my hair and the wound I had from earlier had just started to scab and I was scared that she would re-open my wound, making that thing to start bleeding again. I pushed my mother aside a few times to get her away from me and my father had to interfere between us since she wasn't letting me go, and only he was able to get her off me since my father is a tall dude and took her away from me. Even my younger sister got hit in the crossfire because she was the first to try and separate us only to get hit a few times by my mom before the woman continued to beat me up. I would also like to mention that I myself am 180 cm tall (about 5′ 11″ ft for non metric system users), and my mother is 167 cm tall (5′ 6″) so perhaps I was too rough with her when I pushed her away trying to defend myself because after my father separated us she claimed that I had hurt her because she had bruises on her arms, and then claimed that she was leaving and went to her room to pack up her stuff. My father was unsure of what to do and just took my sister with him in order to take her out of the house for a few hours and left the house with her.
Shortly after, a friend of mine came to my house because we were going together to a K-pop party at a nightclub later that evening, and while we were doing our make-up together in the living room my mother just left without saying a word to me. I told my friend what had happened earlier and she was concerned about me but I assured her that I was fine and we went to the nightclub as planned.
My mother didn't come back to the house until a week later, and I was the one in charge of everything since I was the only adult left at the house. During that week, I was the one who cooked, who did the laundry, and who cleaned since my sister didn't listen to me when I told her to do things most of the time. I'll admit that normally my mom is the one who usually does most of the chores, but my sister and I both help her the best we can except when we're too busy with school, especially me since I'm at my last year of high-school, and in Spain the school year last less for the last year of high-school. While students normally finish the school year during early June, us in "2° de bachillerato" finish in late April. So yeah, there's a lot of pressure at school to push as much content as possible before college entrance exams.
Well, weeks after the whole incident with my mother, I had an argument with my cousins because they were defending my mother and accusing me of being selfish and lazy. My cousins don't have the type of issues with their mothers the way I had with my mother. One of them, who is very close with their own mom said "One of these days, life is going to hit you so hard that you are going to realize your own wrongdoings and you are going to go to your mother crying" and that made me super mad. Just before all this, I was always super close with my mother, and she would always vent to me. Even my own friends said that they envied the way I was with my mother and wished their mothers were as easy-going as mine.
So I replied to my cousin and said to her, "My mother can go to hell. For her I was only her free psychologist, and the day she found herself in a dispute with me, she decided to resort to violence and then play the victim when I defended myself from her beating.". My cousin obviously didn't react well and kept berating me about I should apologize to my mother and more, and I knew right there that she believed more my mother's twisted version of the story than me.
I decided that I had enough of her and decided to post in my WhatsApp status a screenshot of my response to her and included a message that said, "And remember guys, nothing forces you to speak well of someone who assaulted you and who still hasn't apologized for it.". That way, I felt that I was making public my own statement, making me feel more at ease.
However, the next day my mother approached while I was cooking dinner for my sister and I and demanded to know why I posted that screenshot in my status. Apparently, even though I had blocked her on WhatsApp I still had more people looking at my status, mostly some of my aunts and from what she told me it was them who had seen it and had asked her about it, embarrassing her in front of her family. I simply responded to her that I was just stating out the truth. She didn't say anything more, but I could see that she was fuming inside and just left me alone in the kitchen.
To be honest, when I posted the screenshot I didn't remember that my aunts could see my WhatsApp status and posted it for my own peace of mind, so that's why I don't feel remorseful about posting it. But I wonder if I'm the bad guy for embarrassing her in front of her family or not.

2024.06.09 04:54 TheWyMania13 What I think will happen for the series finale

A few days ago, I asked this community what would happen for the final fight against Salem and how would the series end. A lot of you had a variety of responses. Some say there is gonna be some Talk-no-Jutsu, some say Salem will just die by the hands of the gods just like that, and some said it will end with Team RWBY gaining Maiden powers.
This was just to gain an idea of how the final fight would go and how the show can possibly end. With that said, let me introduce everyone to my version of the answer. Now if you disagree with what I have to say, that's fine, you can even say why its a problem in the comments. Just make sure not to say anything that will convince me to block you out of sheer disgust, so try to keep it civil, this is only a theory, a RWBY Theory!
Yes, that was an obvious Game Theory reference, moving on
1. How it starts!
I'm not gonna go into nit picks on how exactly it will play out, because one, that will take a lot of energy out of me and two, I know some of you don't have great attention spans.
So the first episode will have Cinder finding the Crown of Choice and gives it to Salem, who sees that her plan will be foiled as she will still be alive after the destruction of Remnant brought down by the Gods. The reason why I chose Cinder to find it is because the vault containing the crown can only be opened by the Fall Maiden, that being Cinder Fall. How did she find it considering it was not under Beacon? Two ways this could play out.
One, the crown is at Beacon, just hidden well enough to not be detected by anyone. Cinder couldn't get any leads on the crown's location, so she decided to go back to Beacon, tear it down and rip it off the ground with her Maiden powers (this will be fun for power scalers to imagine, either being the entire thing or just going from one end to the other). That's how she finds the vault containing the crown.
Two, the crown was actually hidden somewhere else and Cinder found the lead. So she goes back to Vale, kills a bunch of people guarding it, and takes the crown from the vault. How did she find a lead, I'm not gonna get into that.
2. The Sword of Destruction
With three relics now in Salem's hands, the best thing the heroes could do is to find the Sword of Destruction. Now the sword itself hasn't shown up yet, so we don't know what it could do. To understand what it can possibly do, we need to see what the other relics can do.
\Why is this important? Since the Relics can summon the Gods, I thought it would be important to discuss their abilities before being used to summon higher beings.*
Crown of Choice - Capable of letting people see the future, letting them chose their path ahead of time.
Lamp of Knowledge - Contains a spirit that can answer any question in the present and past, thus giving the person the knowledge they need.
Staff of Creation - Contains a spirit that can create one thing at a time with exact details.
With those in mind, each one has something in common, that being obviously connected to what they are called. Choice, Knowledge, and Creation. For Destruction, here's what I think.
Sword of Destruction - Can destroy any surface or building it touches, for example, if it strikes a house, the house will be split into two, and if it were shoved into the ground, it will break the ground around it.
\The sword itself won't be used much in the present, but there will be illustrated flashbacks showing it's capabilities.*
So the sword is basically an amplified version of a... sword. Containing other feats like taking down an entire skyscraper or cutting down an entire forest. For how it's retrieved, it will be received by the Summer Maiden, which we don't know about. As they head to the Land of Darkness, Cinder to comes in to engage in battle against three other Maidens, including Team RWBY, JNR and SSSN. As we know, Cinder is one of the most hated characters in the show, either to love to hate or to simply just hate. Some think she could be redeemed while others say she can't. How about we do both!
So when she is fighting multiple people, someone (idk who), would grab the sword and plunge into Cinder's chest. This is where she receives a bit of Talk-no-Jutsu where she realizes what she has done before dying by the sword. Now after something like this, I could see the sword being stolen from the group's grasp, most likely now being in the possession of Tyrian. For the new Fall Maiden, I also don't know since it will be the same person who killed her.
\How did Cinder die exactly? Well, when the sword was removed from her body, she will turn into hot embers, giving both irony and flashbacks to how Pyrrha was killed.*
3. Fight for Humanity
Now we get to the action! The group follows Tyrian as they and all of Remnant close in on the Land of Darkness. For this whole army vs army thing, ripping a page out of Avenger's Endgame isn't gonna cut it. Since RWBY was owned by Warner (I'm saying it like that because Volume 10 will most likely be made after the rights are sold), might as well look at another Warner IP which does that but better, which is the Lord of the Rings.
We can have both armies prepare, dialogue between characters, flashbacks and references to previous moments in the show as Ruby gives off one last speech to Remnant before they charge in as Salem watches over, quoting the lyrics of her own theme "Form your armies, dream your dreams. Make your plans and plot your schemes. Send your fighters one and all. Then in battle watch them fall."
So while the whole Grimm VS Humanity thing happens as the Maidens and Team RWBY reach Salem before she can fully summon the Gods. So her goons are defeated, but Salem defeats them and summons them, knowing that her plan may not work, but hopefully she can convince the Gods otherwise, desperate to know if her vision was true or not.
4. Judgement Day
So the Gods come down and see Humanity victorious against the Grimm. Salem tries to convince the Gods that Humanity will leave this victory in the past and be divided once more, but Ruby steps in, along with her team, to convince them that Humanity will never go back to it's old ways. The two groups go back and forth, only for the Gods to tell them to shut up as they discuss somewhere private.
When alone, Ruby and Salem get into an argument, talking about how either precious or vile humanity is and how their lives are either a gift or a curse. It then escalates a fight between only Team RWBY and Salem, as it ends with Ruby using her Silver Eyes on Salem, reverting back to her almost normal self while surprisingly weakening her (Not like she could die by Ruby or that she can't defeat her). We all know that Salem can't be redeemed, nor can she revert her actions. So a proper way of her siding with Humanity is to have Oscar show up as he convinces her to join them, agreeing with her that he will be there till forever and the end, even if the Gods decide to exterminate the entire planet.
With tension now high, the Gods come back and they have decided that they will spare Remnant, and now seeing a changed Salem, they remove her curse and any remains of Grimm on her, along with Ozpin, who reverts back to his previous body while separating from Oscar's body. The Gods compliments and congratulates Team RWBY for their efforts, with them ending with Ruby by saying something like "you have done well uniting humanity", and then removes all the Grimm from the planet and reverses the damage done by them.
How it ends in the aftermath, well, everyone gets a happy ending. Well, not exactly, because unfortunately I will not have Pyrrha and Penny resurrected, and I know that sounds cruel, but we got to implement some of that realism RWBY is known for. Even if the world is finally at peace, there are those who won't actually get their happily ever after. Not everyone can come back from the dead.
I could see many things happening afterwards. Ruby and Jaune getting together, including other relationships like Yang X Blake and Ren X Nora. I could also see Salem and Ozpin spend their final days in Ever After, even meeting Neo, Somewhat and Juniper in the process.
And for the end of the story, just so we can end it like a proper fairy tale, we could have an older Ruby talk about the story to her children or child as she closes the book, ending with the words "The End" engraved into it.
\The final song will most likely be called "The End" or something.*
Summary
This is mostly a combination of what I would think would happen in Volume 10, with other's opinions as well in my last RWBY post. I wanted something that felt like something both logical, reasonable, realistic, and straightforward, as well as including everything that has been the main driving points for the story, like the Relics, Silver Eyes, the Maidens, and even some stuff I hadn't mentioned can be included too. I just wanted something that felt like a proper end to the series.
So hopefully a lot of you enjoyed my Film Theory / TedTalk!
Also Ruby is best girl and her and Jaune are the best ship. I don't mention this often because I'm not into shipping, but I'm willing to make an acceptation, "fight me"!

2024.06.09 04:52 undercoverthrowaway0 Was Invited to My Sister’s Wedding Out of Spite

Or so I have been told. Here’s some simple, short, albeit INSANE backstory first.
I (33f) was adopted at birth. My parents told me at the age of 4. Never had any issues with it. At 17 I got pregnant with my son, searched for bio family for medical reasons and due to pregnancy complications, never found anyone. At 19 I literally stumble upon my bio mom. Literally. I was working at a grocery store, customer thinks I look like his wife’s childhood friend, they tell the friend and friend mentions baby she gave up 19 years earlier that no one knew about. Fast forward a bit, it’s confirmed she’s my bio mom and I meet her, we try a relationship, she’s manipulative right from the beginning. I meet my sister and realize the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Distanced, but didn’t completely cut, myself from them. Would still see them on random occasions but I would talk to my sister more frequently via phone.
Sister gets married in like 2015. I’m invited to the wedding. I hesitate to go but sister wants me there very badly. It’s a backyard wedding at bio mom’s house but it’s beautiful nonetheless. Wasn’t too awkward since I met a lot of these people before throughout the years. I had my two kids in tow and had a good time.
Cut all ties within the next few years with bio mom as she crossed a major boundary of mine when she showed up at my parent’s house looking for me. I knew she did that on purpose, and I was already done with her bullshit. Didn’t see her again after that day. She would, however, randomly reach out via Facebook and such. I would not respond.
I cut ties officially with everyone when bio mom tried to have something to say about my new relationship after my divorce.
It’s been over 5 years since this happened. I have never even ran into them let alone heard their names. I’m casually shopping the other day and a woman approaches me and tells me I look just like her cousin “bio mom.” After my confirmation, she tells me she has met me before at my sisters wedding. She starts talking all about how bio mom has done horrible things to her in the past 9 years and I simply shared that I no longer associated with anyone. She then tells me that I was actually invited to my sisters wedding out of spite. I don’t care, but I was a bit confused so I entertained it. Apparently, bio sister invited me and it was supposed to be a slap in the face to me. She invited me as a way to brag that her mother kept her and not me. I laughed, loudly, because that is NOT the brag that she thinks it is. My parents were absolutely amazing. The best, to say the least, while my sister jumped between relatives for many different reasons. On one occasion when my sister met my parents, she cried to my mom that she wished they’d have been able to adopt her too. I’m not surprised. My older self is jealous of my younger self because of the life I lived lol. I wish I could do it again and again.
None of that actually bothers me. But the part that DOES is that apparently unbeknownst to me, while at the wedding, bio mom at one point asked this particular cousin of hers “how she did.” Cousin thought she was talking about the wedding, and told her it was beautiful. Bio mom then pointed to me and said “no, I mean with OP? She’s lovely isn’t she?” Cousin said she couldn’t believe it and actually replied “you had nothing to do with her and who she is and I think the way you’re parading her around here tonight is uncomfortable for many.” Bio mom then says something to the extent of, “well bio sister wanted her here because she wanted to show off our family and what she could have been a part of.”
Seriously? Maybe I’m just more sensitive to all of this because I just lost my beautiful, intelligent, loving, and kind mother in 2021, but how dare bio mom try to take any type of credit for who I became, or my bio sister think that I’d be comparing anything. I’m a grown adult, a professional, I don’t like pettiness and confrontation, AND maybe this cousin was just trying to tell a story for some reason, but part of me wants to unblock everyone and finally say everything I’ve wanted to for so long. I’m so mad that this has gotten so deep into my head.
Just needed to vent.

2024.06.09 04:52 TatianaWinterbottom Where does a mechanics liability end after a car is stolen from the shop

My keys /car were stolen from a mechanics shop since the keys were left unattended. The car thief ended up running a red light, side swiping a car crashing through a homeowners fence and into a tree. Besides the value of my car, is the mechanic also liable for the homeowner's fence, damages to the other car, or the tree? Or would my liability insurance on my car cover those? If the bystander was injured, would the mechanic also have to pay for their medical bills? Is the mechanic liable for tangential effects I suffer from as a result of his negligence (like losing 2 days of work to deal with this situation, rental cars/uber rides, cost to get my impounded car out) or is the mechanic only liable for the car itself that was stolen? Can the mechanic deflect liability to the thief for the rest?

2024.06.09 04:49 quicksilver_foxheart Can anyone give me some ideas for around my plaza?

Can anyone give me some ideas for around my plaza?
Sorry for the bad quality my switch did not want to send anything to my phone lol. I dont have a specific theme and the museum + houses are all just shoved to the side cause I wanted to do section by section. I was thinking of surrounding it in cliffs and that weird triangle bit on the left could be where I put my ramp and just some plants, but I'm worried that'd interfere with my river (I'm gonna redo the lake but I really wanted to do that corner first) and then the crescent moon cliffs.

2024.06.09 04:49 Impressive_Offer9035 Access water

Access water
So first time homeowner, dealing with a lot of new stuff. I have a Lennox gas furnace model ML180U. I've lived in this house for almost 3 years now and this is the first time something like this is happening. It started when my thermostat just shut off. I thought it was the thermostat itself and I was gonna buy a new one but then I hired a HVAC technician before I did. He guessed right away that the cause was the safe-t-switch had water in it, so he drained it and everything went fine for a few days. Then it happened again, so I drained it like the guy did and it fixed it but now I'm having to do it everyday now. So I thought maybe the pipes were clogged, so I flushed it but it drained pretty quickly. I think I might have a leak too because there's a lot of condensation around the safe-t-switch and I've noticed the pipes are wet on the outside. I noticed today that the side of the furnace was sweating too. I looked up possible issues and it could be my evaporated coil or drain pan so I took apart as much as I was comfortable with but I couldn't find them, they maybe deeper in it but I can't reach it. Also I'm not sure but I think that the wood has water damage. I've uploaded some pictures of the furnace. Any advice would be appreciated!
