The quasar is not overpowered. I’d say it’s actually one of the most perfectly balanced weapons in the game right now. A long wind up, a single projectile, followed by a decent cooldown. You miss, and it’s decently punishing, since every second counts when a horde bears down on you.
People say it’s overpowered because it “invalidates everything else”, and that it’s taken on almost every mission, and thus needs a nerf. For starters I’d like to point out there’s plenty of other stratagems that do wonderful jobs. I’d say this is the exact sort of talk that got the Railgun nerfed in the first place, and look how that situation panned out! Everything around it gained a hefty buff, enemies were nerfed accordingly, and now it fills no niche, everything it does there’s now a better and more reliable tool.
The quasar is exactly what niche the current balance of the game requires. A hefty, reliable one shot to one of the potentially many armored targets roaming around the battlefield. No backpack gimmick, no team reloads, no kneeling for seven seconds just to fire again. If it gets nerfed, let’s look at the alternatives:
The recoiless, which while effectively on par with the EAT and Quasar, has a painful solo reload and fills a backpack slot. Team reloads are not common enough on random games to warrant relying on that. Effective but ultimately a hinderance on high difficulties due to unreliable rate of fire.
The trusty EAT, which would likely become everyone’s standard once again if the Quasar sees anything beyond a cooldown nerf. Not much to say, other than it would be a shame to see us be forced into that again, alongside the chance that there’s simply more than two armored units on the field - let’s hope your teammates are on the ball.
The SPEAR - and I’m assuming it will be the new and improved SPEAR - might have potential. Again, though, it eats a backpack slot, and has a painfully slow reload. Of course it’s more than made up for in my opinion with the lock-on ability, though that can be finicky if your enemy isn’t facing you for a headshot.
And finally, our stratagems, which as it stands are simply not even close to enough to deal with a standard 7-9, at least not in place of a heavy armor weapon. Theyre powerful and useful alongside such weapons. Too few uses, too long of a cooldown, too many armored enemies. I really hope this is changed in the future, I personally believe some of them deserve softer cooldowns.
(Honorable mention to the flamethrower of course. Charger-eater 9000.)

CAPTAIN HENRY O’TOOLE
A bead of sweat rolled down Henry’s brow while he watched Paul on the monitor. So far, the ship had performed every test admirably and each section chief had signed off that their systems were ready for service.
We're as ready to launch as we're ever going to be... Henry took a deep breath as the dry dock doors finally finished their painfully slow opening process.
"Alright, Paul, it's time." Henry spoke from his captain's chair on the systems map platform overlooking the rest of the CIC.
Off to his right, a screen displayed a small group wearing space suits on the primary observation platform over the hull of the Indomitable Will. Paul stepped forward, one magnetized step at a time, as he examined a champagne bottle in his suited hands. He looked back at the rest of the station leadership behind him before he turned back to the ship to speak.
"This project has been the subject of my every waking hour for nearly two years now, but for the men behind me it is the culmination of a lifetime of knowledge and five years of very hard, very fast-paced work. You have clearly, with plenty of help, out-done yourselves. I know there is normally much more fanfare around a ship launch but we've all decided against that, considering the circumstances. I still want to show our esteem for the hard work of each and every one of you who helped make this possible with at least a few words before we break this bottle over the hull. In another set of circumstances this would be a mission for the history books, with the eyes of a hopeful world upon us as we embarked on a mission of peace and exploration. Our enemy has robbed this possibility from us, replacing it with a desperate gamble for our very survival, should the worst come to pass. We all know the stakes both of success and failure, and I trust that we will embark upon this journey with the appropriate understanding of just how critical our own roles will be in the coming months and years. We have picked out the best crew we could find, and you have all proven yourselves ready for the responsibility that we are about to shoulder together. Our ship was named the Indomitable Will, as nothing less will be acceptable in the months ahead if we hope to succeed against the impossible odds we face. In the name of the North American Union and the United Terran Republic, I christen thee the UTRN Indomitable Will, SVM-001!"
Paul then threw the bottle toward the ship. A gasp emerged from below as the bottle bounced off the bow, rather than breaking upon it. Henry's stomach instantly tied itself in knots, and the mood in the CIC plummeted as the camera showed the unbroken bottle sailing off screen.
It's just a superstition, everyone, we'll be fine.... Henry pulled himself together as he saw Paul board the ship and seal the airlock behind him. Looking around the room at the scared looks and tense whispers, Henry decided that he needed to just proceed as if things were normal.
“Helm, activate Telekinetic drive generators and set them to hover. Disengage the docking clamps! Has STC forwarded us the asteroid drift charts for navigation yet?” Henry said with all the confidence he could muster.
Aye Captain!” their helmsman said.
“Asteroid drift charts are updated, awaiting orders, sir.” Navigation reported in.
"The lieutenant is on board, sir!" His officer of the watch stated.
"Excellent, let's get under way then." Henry said.
Henry coolly readjusted his balance as the ship began accelerating slowly out of its berth and into the blackness of space. Small glints were visible off the otherwise pitch black hulls of the eight frigates that waited a few hundred kilometers ahead. One by one, in a preordained order, each frigate fell in alongside their new mothership and docked themselves into their assigned saddle. There each ship would stay, ready to launch from embedded electromagnetic rails at a moment’s notice should the need arise.
As the last frigate settled into place, Henry steeled himself to give the next order. As much as he trusted his genius of a girlfriend and the massive amount of testing they had done, even she admitted that the first test fire of each individual system would be a risky endeavor.
Get it together, Henry, that bottle is just an old superstition. Henry shook his nervousness off and called Chantal’s station in between both of the C.L.A.P.P.E.R reactors.
Her smiling face greeted him. “Hiiii Henry! We are all warmed up and ready down here. Just give the word my captain, and we can fire at will.”
“Well then, no sense in beating around the bush, let's begin our space trials then. Looks like our capacitors are about full, so prepare to warm up the port side C.L.A.P.P.E.R reactor. Fire control, prepare a firing solution for the target I have marked on the system map.”
Well, here’s to not blowing us all up moments after launch….
Henry watched as the last few percentage points filled on their capacitor charge before he yelled out “Fire!” The lights dimmed as all available power was routed along with a full capacitor charge into the port compression fusion reactor. The infinite repulsive effect of the null matter fed into the system to squeeze the Deuterium charge together. The null matter forced mass particle collisions and raised the contained pressure and heat exponentially until it sparked a runaway fusion reaction. The lights returned to full brightness in the CIC as the negative mass field-collapsed. Powerful electromagnetic containment fields forced the fresh plasma from the reactor and then down the barrel in a tightly contained packet.
The moment the blazing plasma escaped the muzzle, it was captured within a new null barrier generated by a drone that launched alongside it. Together, they accelerated straight towards the asteroid Henry had designated for testing. At the last second, the drone cut the barrier and swerved to the side to return to the Indomitable Will, ready to fly again. The asteroid was atomized on impact as the plasma ball expanded into a bright cloud of charged particles. A cheer emerged from the CIC as the main screens replayed the scene from multiple angles. Henry looked over to see an ecstatic Chantal on screen.
“THAT ASTEROID JUST GOT CLAPPED!” She shouted.
She shrugged at Henry while she mouthed the words 'I had to say it' with a shameless wink. Henry just laughed,being well-used to her humor and antics by this stage.
“Charge capacitors to full and prepare the starboard C.L.A.P.P.E.R to fire!” Henry shouted, as he assigned their next target, a double-thickness section of alien hull plate which had been stealthily cut from the underwater portion of the downed craft in the heart of the Manhattan Crater Bay. He watched the display as the ship’s four LFTR cores worked at full capacity to fill the dedicated stacked and twisted graphene super-capacitors for the starboard C.L.A.P.P.E.R. The moment they read full, Henry yelled. “FIRE!”
Again, the lights dimmed as the starboard C.L.A.P.P.E.R released it’s contained plasma packet into the void which was captured by a fresh drone. Alien hull plate was notoriously difficult to pierce with most conventional weaponry, which was why the idea of working fusion plasma weaponry had been so attractive. The running joke was that Naval R&D was constantly five to ten years out from working plasma weaponry and always would be, as most of the technologies involved were the very same ones that were necessary for fusion power generation.
Once the C.L.A.P.P.E.R system could be proven to be viable, stable, safe, and effective without major maintenance headaches, it would forever change the balance of power in the favor of humanity. The prototype had already seen extensive testing and improvements, Henry hoped he would be able to come to rely upon the working models in his ship when it counted most. At least if they were to become a ticking time bomb, they could be rapidly ejected far, far away in a real emergency.
Just like before, the drone dropped the barrier at the critical moment to deliver its payload and returned to the ship. No matter how effective the exotic alloy blend, or how well the outer ceramic layers dissipated heat, there was a point at which physics would not be denied. Henry smiled as the super-heated plasma boiled its way straight through the double-thick hull plate piece. The insane difficulty of smuggling away a hull plate section for this test meant it could only be performed once, but the results were undeniable as the damage inflicted was utter and complete. The still-hot plasma dissipated in a cone shape into the void far beyond the initial impact point, implying that the damage to unlucky ship’s interior after a direct hit would be every bit as catastrophic.
“Dr. Washington, this weapon system might just change everything for us.” Henry said, beaming with pride.
“Thank you, my captain. I will work my tail off to keep my babies working as promised.” Chantal smiled without reservation. Henry was happy to let her bask in the feeling; she had more than earned it.
“Temperatures that high and pressures that extreme take a toll, we ought to save this thing for a really dire situation, to reduce wear and tear, if nothing else.” Paul said, spoiling the mood as he entered the CIC.
Henry stared daggers at the man. In spite of that, Paul remained stubbornly unperturbed with his trademark cocky smile plastered on his face.
“Yes, Paul, that has long been considered in the materials science, such concerns informed our alloy choices and helped us design the maintenance cycle. Obviously, all systems have a defined lifespan that reduces with use before we must to take them offline for preventative maintenance and parts replacement. It helps that we have plenty of other offensive options at our disposal that we could use first.” Chantal shrugged, shedding the negativity like water off a duck’s back.
That was one thing that Henry was truly beginning to appreciate about her above all else; she had a relentless positive mental attitude ingrained within her. This time, Henry smirked at Paul.
"Alright, enough, let's get back to the task at hand." Henry said in order to cut Paul off from a snark filled reply.
“I am satisfied with these tests here to say that the system is working as intended. Does my captain agree to certify the C.L.A.P.P.E.R system as ready for duty?” Chantal asked.
“I will agree to certify the C.L.A.P.P.E.R as ready for duty, pending a full inspection and report to be delivered in my quarters at the start of C shift.” Henry replied with a smile.
“Awesome! I had better get down there and inspect things while they are hot.” She said, “I can’t wait to give you the full and exhaustive report on the matter in your quarters later, Captain. I'm sure you'll find my report to be... most stimulating.” She then cut the feed with a smile that made Henry stiffen in anticipation.
With monumental effort, he snapped himself out of it and fired up the ship-wide intercom.
“All right, Helm, I am charting a course for you to guide us through, Should be around a three hour flight at one gee. Fire control, I want a full systems test of every laser battery on this ship in the meantime. Once we clear this cluster of asteroids and we have some room to maneuver we will test the drone launch and recovery systems as well as test our pilot’s response readiness times. Magazine control, I want you to test the feeding systems for our tactical missile inventory. We will test every major combat system on this ship by the end of today. If I haven’t mentioned your section yet, you can expect a visit from me soon, so be ready.”
Henry looked over his extensive list of tasks and systems he had to personally sign off on and resigned himself to a long couple of days. He then picked up his tablet and walked out of the CIC with the intent to waste no more time. He reached the quick lift and rode it down one level into deck one and then made his way over to engineering. He received salutes as he passed and exchanged words where needed to check systems until he reached the door that allowed maintenance access to their FTL system. He stopped dead in his tracks as he got a crawling, horrible sense of trepidation while staring at the door. Suddenly the lights flickered and died out; the room looked very different bathed in amber emergency lights. The effect lasted only a second before the regular lights came back and the feeling of fear dissipated.
What... in the fuck...? Henry shook it off, continued his checklist, and made a note to look into the lights. This whole deck is on the essential systems power bus...
Idly, he wondered how many other little technical gremlins existed in the ship's other systems. He shuddered at the thought, though was thankful that most technologies used in his ship were already battle proven in the rest of the fleet. There were some novel systems, though, and the launch of a new class of ship always required addressing unforeseen technical challenges. Those were the ones that worried him most.
He looked at the checklist again, a bit more thankful for the thoroughness of it and got back to work. Each of his frigates had been checked and had been flying drills and running supplies around S33 for some time. They were all relatively proven, simple designs and could be relied upon when the moment came. His own ship, was a different matter, and he was determined to catch every little issue he could before they left their home port and the possibility of easy repair behind.
It was going to be an intense few weeks, but Henry found himself to feel more excited by the prospect more than he felt overwhelmed by it. He took that as a good sign, and thus encouraged, got back to work. Next stop was electrical, which seemed destined be a source of trouble for him already. While it was true they had very little time to work out any issues before their official launch, Henry was grateful to have some say in pushing that back if need be.
Fighting back a headache, Henry opened his neural implant interface and messaged the electrician's mate to meet him immediately.
MEANWHILE…
DATE: DECEMBER 29th, 6 A.U. (AFTER UNIFICATION) LOCATION: SOL SYSTEM, S33
FIREMAN APPRENTICE ANDREW REESE
“The captain wants to meet with me any minute, and not a single one of you worthless lot have anything for me to report to him?”
Andrew felt the tension in the air as the question lingered. Never had he felt so at the bottom of the power dynamic before, and it infuriated him. The Chief had rank on him, and he had to continue to play the role of loyal crewmate if he wanted to remain above suspicion.
“What about you, NUB? We pulled you from the line at Liberty Station, or how about one of you two? You three are supposed to have college backgrounds. Anything?”
Reese felt very little tension himself, even as the chief briefly locked eyes with him. Beside him, the others seemed ready to crack under the pressure.
I'll have to be careful when I test that one.
Andrew then realized that he had been forgetting to blend into the background emotions of the moment; he had allowed himself to be seen as an anomaly.
Sloppy, time to turn this around.
“We've been at this for hours it feels like, I don’t know about an answer, but we can stall for time by blaming it on the mass power draw for the C.L.A.P.P.E.R being fired back to back. That should mollify the captain and buy us some time here to find the real answer.” Andrew said, hoping he had struck a perfect balance. The chief simply laughed for a moment before collecting himself.
“All right, I like it, simple, plausible, and nebulous enough that it should work as a delaying action. Now split up and look to your training partner for assignment. We will comb through every system and sort this issue out, or command will have our heads! Dismissed.”
Excellent, he just had to make himself just the right amount of indispensable without directly kissing ass while he continued to subtly probe the loyalties of those around him.
Unfortunately, his mission had borne little fruit thus far, as his opportunities to recruit had been rather scarce. He had met quite a few people who were clearly excited about the idea of being explorers and cared little about the obvious risks. Once the ship was underway, it would hopefully get easier. He simply needed more opportunities to flash his charm and to build enough trust to slowly sap some of these fools naive confidence to replace it with hard realism.
Andrew knew that he had to play the long game with each and every one of these people. The price of failure in any way meant death for them all, and Andrew planned on surviving this mission, whatever it took.

Get it together, Henry, that bottle is just an old superstition. Henry shook his nervousness off and called Chantal’s station in between both of the C.L.A.P.P.E.R reactors.
Her smiling face greeted him. “Hiiii Henry! We are all warmed up and ready down here. Just give the word my captain, and we can fire at will.”
“Well then, no sense in beating around the bush, let's begin our space trials then. Looks like our capacitors are about full, so prepare to warm up the port side C.L.A.P.P.E.R reactor. Fire control, prepare a firing solution for the target I have marked on the system map.”
Well, here’s to not blowing us all up moments after launch….
Henry watched as the last few percentage points filled on their capacitor charge before he yelled out “Fire!” The lights dimmed as all available power was routed along with a full capacitor charge into the port compression fusion reactor. The infinite repulsive effect of the null matter fed into the system to squeeze the Deuterium charge together. The null matter forced mass particle collisions and raised the contained pressure and heat exponentially until it sparked a runaway fusion reaction. The lights returned to full brightness in the CIC as the negative mass field-collapsed. Powerful electromagnetic containment fields forced the fresh plasma from the reactor and then down the barrel in a tightly contained packet.
The moment the blazing plasma escaped the muzzle, it was captured within a new null barrier generated by a drone that launched alongside it. Together, they accelerated straight towards the asteroid Henry had designated for testing. At the last second, the drone cut the barrier and swerved to the side to return to the Indomitable Will, ready to fly again. The asteroid was atomized on impact as the plasma ball expanded into a bright cloud of charged particles. A cheer emerged from the CIC as the main screens replayed the scene from multiple angles. Henry looked over to see an ecstatic Chantal on screen.
“THAT ASTEROID JUST GOT CLAPPED!” She shouted.
She shrugged at Henry while she mouthed the words 'I had to say it' with a shameless wink. Henry just laughed,being well-used to her humor and antics by this stage.
“Charge capacitors to full and prepare the starboard C.L.A.P.P.E.R to fire!” Henry shouted, as he assigned their next target, a double-thickness section of alien hull plate which had been stealthily cut from the underwater portion of the downed craft in the heart of the Manhattan Crater Bay. He watched the display as the ship’s four LFTR cores worked at full capacity to fill the dedicated stacked and twisted graphene super-capacitors for the starboard C.L.A.P.P.E.R. The moment they read full, Henry yelled. “FIRE!”
Again, the lights dimmed as the starboard C.L.A.P.P.E.R released it’s contained plasma packet into the void which was captured by a fresh drone. Alien hull plate was notoriously difficult to pierce with most conventional weaponry, which was why the idea of working fusion plasma weaponry had been so attractive. The running joke was that Naval R&D was constantly five to ten years out from working plasma weaponry and always would be, as most of the technologies involved were the very same ones that were necessary for fusion power generation.
Once the C.L.A.P.P.E.R system could be proven to be viable, stable, safe, and effective without major maintenance headaches, it would forever change the balance of power in the favor of humanity. The prototype had already seen extensive testing and improvements, Henry hoped he would be able to come to rely upon the working models in his ship when it counted most. At least if they were to become a ticking time bomb, they could be rapidly ejected far, far away in a real emergency.
Just like before, the drone dropped the barrier at the critical moment to deliver its payload and returned to the ship. No matter how effective the exotic alloy blend, or how well the outer ceramic layers dissipated heat, there was a point at which physics would not be denied. Henry smiled as the super-heated plasma boiled its way straight through the double-thick hull plate piece. The insane difficulty of smuggling away a hull plate section for this test meant it could only be performed once, but the results were undeniable as the damage inflicted was utter and complete. The still-hot plasma dissipated in a cone shape into the void far beyond the initial impact point, implying that the damage to unlucky ship’s interior after a direct hit would be every bit as catastrophic.
“Dr. Washington, this weapon system might just change everything for us.” Henry said, beaming with pride.
“Thank you, my captain. I will work my tail off to keep my babies working as promised.” Chantal smiled without reservation. Henry was happy to let her bask in the feeling; she had more than earned it.
“Temperatures that high and pressures that extreme take a toll, we ought to save this thing for a really dire situation, to reduce wear and tear, if nothing else.” Paul said, spoiling the mood as he entered the CIC.
Henry stared daggers at the man. In spite of that, Paul remained stubbornly unperturbed with his trademark cocky smile plastered on his face.
“Yes, Paul, that has long been considered in the materials science, such concerns informed our alloy choices and helped us design the maintenance cycle. Obviously, all systems have a defined lifespan that reduces with use before we must to take them offline for preventative maintenance and parts replacement. It helps that we have plenty of other offensive options at our disposal that we could use first.” Chantal shrugged, shedding the negativity like water off a duck’s back.
That was one thing that Henry was truly beginning to appreciate about her above all else; she had a relentless positive mental attitude ingrained within her. This time, Henry smirked at Paul.
"Alright, enough, let's get back to the task at hand." Henry said in order to cut Paul off from a snark filled reply.
“I am satisfied with these tests here to say that the system is working as intended. Does my captain agree to certify the C.L.A.P.P.E.R system as ready for duty?” Chantal asked.
“I will agree to certify the C.L.A.P.P.E.R as ready for duty, pending a full inspection and report to be delivered in my quarters at the start of C shift.” Henry replied with a smile.
“Awesome! I had better get down there and inspect things while they are hot.” She said, “I can’t wait to give you the full and exhaustive report on the matter in your quarters later, Captain. I'm sure you'll find my report to be... most stimulating.” She then cut the feed with a smile that made Henry stiffen in anticipation.
With monumental effort, he snapped himself out of it and fired up the ship-wide intercom.
“All right, Helm, I am charting a course for you to guide us through, Should be around a three hour flight at one gee. Fire control, I want a full systems test of every laser battery on this ship in the meantime. Once we clear this cluster of asteroids and we have some room to maneuver we will test the drone launch and recovery systems as well as test our pilot’s response readiness times. Magazine control, I want you to test the feeding systems for our tactical missile inventory. We will test every major combat system on this ship by the end of today. If I haven’t mentioned your section yet, you can expect a visit from me soon, so be ready.”
Henry looked over his extensive list of tasks and systems he had to personally sign off on and resigned himself to a long couple of days. He then picked up his tablet and walked out of the CIC with the intent to waste no more time. He reached the quick lift and rode it down one level into deck one and then made his way over to engineering. He received salutes as he passed and exchanged words where needed to check systems until he reached the door that allowed maintenance access to their FTL system. He stopped dead in his tracks as he got a crawling, horrible sense of trepidation while staring at the door. Suddenly the lights flickered and died out; the room looked very different bathed in amber emergency lights. The effect lasted only a second before the regular lights came back and the feeling of fear dissipated.
What... in the fuck...? Henry shook it off, continued his checklist, and made a note to look into the lights. This whole deck is on the essential systems power bus...
Idly, he wondered how many other little technical gremlins existed in the ship's other systems. He shuddered at the thought, though was thankful that most technologies used in his ship were already battle proven in the rest of the fleet. There were some novel systems, though, and the launch of a new class of ship always required addressing unforeseen technical challenges. Those were the ones that worried him most.
He looked at the checklist again, a bit more thankful for the thoroughness of it and got back to work. Each of his frigates had been checked and had been flying drills and running supplies around S33 for some time. They were all relatively proven, simple designs and could be relied upon when the moment came. His own ship, was a different matter, and he was determined to catch every little issue he could before they left their home port and the possibility of easy repair behind.
It was going to be an intense few weeks, but Henry found himself to feel more excited by the prospect more than he felt overwhelmed by it. He took that as a good sign, and thus encouraged, got back to work. Next stop was electrical, which seemed destined be a source of trouble for him already. While it was true they had very little time to work out any issues before their official launch, Henry was grateful to have some say in pushing that back if need be.
Fighting back a headache, Henry opened his neural implant interface and messaged the electrician's mate to meet him immediately.
MEANWHILE…
DATE: DECEMBER 29th, 6 A.U. (AFTER UNIFICATION) LOCATION: SOL SYSTEM, S33
FIREMAN APPRENTICE ANDREW REESE
“The captain wants to meet with me any minute, and not a single one of you worthless lot have anything for me to report to him?”
Andrew felt the tension in the air as the question lingered. Never had he felt so at the bottom of the power dynamic before, and it infuriated him. The Chief had rank on him, and he had to continue to play the role of loyal crewmate if he wanted to remain above suspicion.
“What about you, NUB? We pulled you from the line at Liberty Station, or how about one of you two? You three are supposed to have college backgrounds. Anything?”
Reese felt very little tension himself, even as the chief briefly locked eyes with him. Beside him, the others seemed ready to crack under the pressure.
I'll have to be careful when I test that one.
Andrew then realized that he had been forgetting to blend into the background emotions of the moment; he had allowed himself to be seen as an anomaly.
Sloppy, time to turn this around.
“We've been at this for hours it feels like, I don’t know about an answer, but we can stall for time by blaming it on the mass power draw for the C.L.A.P.P.E.R being fired back to back. That should mollify the captain and buy us some time here to find the real answer.” Andrew said, hoping he had struck a perfect balance. The chief simply laughed for a moment before collecting himself.
“All right, I like it, simple, plausible, and nebulous enough that it should work as a delaying action. Now split up and look to your training partner for assignment. We will comb through every system and sort this issue out, or command will have our heads! Dismissed.”
Excellent, he just had to make himself just the right amount of indispensable without directly kissing ass while he continued to subtly probe the loyalties of those around him.
Unfortunately, his mission had borne little fruit thus far, as his opportunities to recruit had been rather scarce. He had met quite a few people who were clearly excited about the idea of being explorers and cared little about the obvious risks. Once the ship was underway, it would hopefully get easier. He simply needed more opportunities to flash his charm and to build enough trust to slowly sap some of these fools naive confidence to replace it with hard realism.
Andrew knew that he had to play the long game with each and every one of these people. The price of failure in any way meant death for them all, and Andrew planned on surviving this mission, whatever it took.

Note: I did make a post a week or so ago, but that was a small suggestion in response to the item nerfs. This is in response to the more substantial change desired/proposed and under reconsideration by RiotAxes.
When addressing bruiser builds, the aspect that stands out to me for Pantheon versus others is his lack of desire to auto-attack outside the empowered W. And from your responses to my comments on relevant threads, some of of you seam to be against any additional power in his autos.
But I can't agree. His passive includes normal autos as attacks to gain stacks. Counting empowered W, he has five unique auto-attack animations.
Giving him more/faster spellcasts or just flat out stronger spells isn't feasible. They already reduced Q's cooldown and cast time, and gave him innate % armor pen. Any lower or stronger, and we're getting too close to Q just resetting on hit and dealing true damage.
So I think focus should be put on what he does between casts. Which, barring running away, means auto-attacking.
First, by making his attack range 200 (up from 175). This would put him on par with Irelia, and allows him slightly more room to play around Q's range. Plus he uses a spear. He shouldn't have the same range as people using fists.
Second, grant him bonus attack speed after empowered E. This would allow him to follow up a EmpW>Q>AA>EmpE combo with more attacks, as well as increase his DPS to stand his ground against champs that run him down.
Third, give back the pre-rework guaranteed crits on targets under 15% HP. This would allow him to start and end fights with crits when building Sundered Sky, and give him extra strength against enemies who gain more sustain when they're low, as well as armored targets who can survive a Q when under its threshold (many of which are the champions he struggles against).

On Slaying Phaelanxes
Phaelanxes. What happens when some lunatic combines a Pangar, a Moonreaver Shrike, a Frostwülf, and a Flameborn Quillshot. Big, fiery, fast, and lethal. Arguably the most dangerous Behemoth of its tier, with only the Shrowd and the Rezakiri providing any competition. But how could you slay one? Well, it’s actually not terribly hard, but the speed, damage, and the STUPID FIRE DEBUFF make it a daunting challenge for new Slayers. Just like my guide on Rezakiris, we’ll go over attacks, a synopsis, and useful tips on killing these oversized toasters.
PART 1: SYNOPSIS
The Phaelanx is, contrary to the Rezakiri, a very melee-focused Behemoth. Most of its attacks involve using its metallic body as either a Slap-Chop or a cannonball. As such, I have no Omnicell recommendations, because unlike the Rezakiri, you can’t negate three-fourths of their attacks with the Artificer shield. In terms of lanterns, use whatever you want, but I prefer Skarn’s Defiance. With that said, we’ll get onto the attacks.
PART 2: ATTACKS
Attack 1: NYOOM
Damage: 6/10
Dodge Difficulty: 7/10
Frequency: 5/10
This attack is the only attack that you can interrupt. It’s telegraphed by a VERY short charge-up noise and the missile launchers flaring out followed by the Behemoth launching itself like a rocket across the arena. Funnily enough, the hitbox for this attack is extremely wonky, and as such almost never hits its intended target. I’ve had more issues dealing with this during Escalations, where I’m carving up the other Behemoth when suddenly Bird Jumpscare. Dodge this by going through the Phaelanx’s face, or by interrupting it.
Attack 2: The Slice
Damage: 6/10
Dodge Difficulty: 7/10
Frequency: 7/10
Ah, the wing slice. A classic amongst Shrike-class Behemoths. Telegraphed by it standing up on its hind legs before deploying its wings and spinning in almost two full circles. Simple enough in concept, but the hitbox for the wings, as well as the range of the slice, is COMICALLY large, covering a good quarter of the battlefield. Dodge this by leaping out of the radius, if you are far enough to do that, or by dodging through the spin.
Attack 3: Walmart-brand Frostwülf
Damage: 10/10 (because fire debuff)
Dodge Difficulty: 2/10
Frequency: 3/10
This attack is telegraphed very well, by the Phaelanx stabbing the ground with its wingblade and twisting it. A glowing spot will appear under a Slayer before erupting into a geyser of fire. It’s very easy to dodge, but getting hit by it will give you the fire debuff. It usually appears in the midst of a combo, so it becomes harder to dodge.
Attack 4: Bioaetheric Missiles (a.k.a. Flameborn Quillshot on crack)
Damage: 6/10
Dodge Difficulty: 5/10
Frequency: 5/10
This attack usually comes after a ground slam or some other aerial attack and is signaled by the creature curling up on the ground and unfolding the missile launchers from its back before firing a barrage of explosive spines in a rough circle around itself, similarly to attacks from most Quillshot-class Behemoths. While the spines move much slower than the Flameborn Quillshot’s spines, they have a deceptively large blast radius, so be on guard.
Attack 5: gohegdeH ehT cinoS
Damage: 7/10
Dodge Difficulty: Yes/10
Frequency: 5/10
This is what I firmly believe to be the most bull***t attack in the Behemoth’s entire arsenal. It has zero telegraphs, zero counters, and does an excessive amount of damage. Sometimes, after it’s done firing missiles, it rolls up and kicks itself backwards in the span of about half a second, rolling around the battlefield like some bootleg version of Sonic. Unlike the Pangar, which has a similar attack, you can’t interrupt this one, and it’s MUCH faster and more agile. It doesn’t help that it attacks backward, where most Slayers like to stand. Dodge this by either going to the front or getting lucky.
Attack 6: Tactical Retreat
Damage: 7/10
Dodge Difficulty: 5/10
Frequency: 5/10
This attack involves the Behemoth being up on its hind legs first, and then it spreads itslegs wings before launching itself backward, firing a “fence” of missiles out of its back and landing back on all fours. Both the dash itself and the missiles deal damage and can be dodged by leaping away from the dash’s direction.
Attack 7: Freaking Laser Beams
Damage: 8/10
Dodge Difficulty: 8/10
Frequency: 6/10
This is probably one of the most dangerous attacks in the Phaelanx’s repertoire, telegraphed by it standing on its hind legs. It flares both wings in a frill around its body before blasting twin heat rays out of its eyes and moving them about its field of vision. This appears to be somewhat inconsistent in my experience, but the rays apply the fire debuff. The difficulty with this attack comes with the randomness of the rays and the speed at which they move. Despite this, the rays have a very low field of view, and is really only a danger if you are standing in front of the Behemoth. If you do happen to be in the danger zone, get out as quickly as possible, otherwise you might get stunlocked and knocked down repeatedly.
Attack 8: Ground Slam
Damage: 7/10
Dodge Difficulty: 6/10
Frequency: 7/10
This is another common attack amongst Shrike-class Behemoths. (By the way, for those asking, I divide Behemoths into Shrike-class, Embermane-class, Gnasher-class, Quillshot-class, Oddball-class, and Keystone-class. There could also be an argument made for Drask-class, but it only has one variation that’s almost essentially a reskin, so I don’t count it.) The Phaelanx hops into the air before crashing down and making a shockwave. Fairly simple to dodge.
Attack 9: Sonic the Hedgehog
Damage: 9/10
Dodge Difficulty: 8/10
Frequency: 4/10
This is a less-unfair version of the previous roll attack, where it rolls forward. The same rules apply, but it’s more telegraphed by its tail kicking out. Not much else to say.
Attack 10: Famous YouTuber Cr1t1kal (WOOOOOOOOOOO)
Damage: 2/10
Dodge Difficulty: 4/10
Frequency: 1/10
This is the attack where the Phaelanx becomes enraged, where it leaps into the air, dives toward the ground, then rears up and does the WOOOOOOOOO YEAH BABYYYY THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR pose and becoming enraged. It has a very fast dive and a very short telegraph, so keep on your guard. Actually, all things considered, I think that the Phaelanx has the shortest enrage move of any Behemoth. (For those wondering, the Valomyr has the longest enrage move, at a whopping ≈5.5 seconds.) Dodge by going backward.
Attack 11: Fenroar Cosplay
Damage: 3/10
Dodge Difficulty: 5/10
Frequency: 2/10
This move aether-charges the Phaelanx. It summons a swirling storm of rock and stone… oh no…
DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE!?
ROCK AND STONE IN THE HEART!

With that out of the way, the storm of EARTH surrounds the Phaelanx before exploding out, damaging any Slayers in a radius around it. Just don’t go near it while it charges this move.
Attack 12: Rain Fire
Damage: 7/10
Dodge Difficulty: 8/10
Frequency: aether-charged/10
This is a fairly brutal attack, where it flaps up into the air before blasting heat rays down at Slayers. Just like the other attack involving the lasers, this one is hard to dodge thanks to the randomness of the beams, but it only occurs while the Behemoth is aether-charged. Dodge by getting out of its FOV.
(This isn’t all the attacks, but I haven’t encountered them enough to list all of them. More will be added later.)
PART 3: USEFUL TIPS ON HUNTING AND PART BREAKING
So. It wasn’t enough to kill one Phaelanx, you want to make armor out of them? Well, I hope you like the Phaelanx, since to make the full set of armor and ONE of the weapons, you’ll have to kill AT LEAST FORTY-FIVE PHAELANXES. So, how do you hunt efficiently? Go for the tails and the heads first, as there’s only one per Behemoth. Ignition Glands and Tempered Ironbeaks will be the hardest reagents to acquire. Usually, Wracked Pinions and Fused Steeldown are acquired accidentally, breaking almost unintentionally. Chrome Wingblades, Serrated Steelfeathers, and Blazeworked Shards are acquired by killing the thing, and are common enough that you’ll almost never have to hunt the beasts specifically for them. They have weirdly low part HP, and breaking parts, unlike ****KING REZAKIRIS AND THEIR STUPID EXOSKELETAL PLATES AND LUSTROUS TAILPLATES I SWEAR TO GOD THEY HAVE A BIGGER HEALTH POOL THAN THE BEHEMOTH ITSELF, is relatively easy.
Cobra’s Hunting Tips:
- Stay on the move! Phaelanxes have a variety of attacks that punish Slayers that stand still.
- If you are set on fire, and you didn’t know this already, dodging reduces the remaining effect time.
- Don’t get greedy. Whenever the Phaelanx starts recovering, your guard should go up.
- Manage your stamina. You really don’t want to get caught between a rock and a six-ton flaming biomechanical killing machine.
- Listen carefully. A lot of the Behemoth’s attacks, specifically the rocket dash, have audio cues.
- If there’s two Behemoths, prioritize the Phaelanx. Even if the other one is on the other side of the arena, a Phaelanx can close the gap in an instant.
- Always keep an eye on its target. If it starts targeting you, put some distance between you and the Phaelanx, have a breather, and try to avoid being set on fire.
- Stay to the sides of the Behemoth and avoid the front or back. Unlike other Behemoths like the Skarn, the Valomyr, or the Fenroar, Phaelanxes have no method of attacking you sideways.
- Make every opening count. You can safely pummel them during their laser attack, their fire geyser, and their missile attacks.

This attack usually comes after a ground slam or some other aerial attack and is signaled by the creature curling up on the ground and unfolding the missile launchers from its back before firing a barrage of explosive spines in a rough circle around itself, similarly to attacks from most Quillshot-class Behemoths. While the spines move much slower than the Flameborn Quillshot’s spines, they have a deceptively large blast radius, so be on guard.
Attack 5: gohegdeH ehT cinoS
Damage: 7/10
Dodge Difficulty: Yes/10
Frequency: 5/10
This is what I firmly believe to be the most bull***t attack in the Behemoth’s entire arsenal. It has zero telegraphs, zero counters, and does an excessive amount of damage. Sometimes, after it’s done firing missiles, it rolls up and kicks itself backwards in the span of about half a second, rolling around the battlefield like some bootleg version of Sonic. Unlike the Pangar, which has a similar attack, you can’t interrupt this one, and it’s MUCH faster and more agile. It doesn’t help that it attacks backward, where most Slayers like to stand. Dodge this by either going to the front or getting lucky.
Attack 6: Tactical Retreat
Damage: 7/10
Dodge Difficulty: 5/10
Frequency: 5/10
This attack involves the Behemoth being up on its hind legs first, and then it spreads its
Attack 7: Freaking Laser Beams
Damage: 8/10
Dodge Difficulty: 8/10
Frequency: 6/10
This is probably one of the most dangerous attacks in the Phaelanx’s repertoire, telegraphed by it standing on its hind legs. It flares both wings in a frill around its body before blasting twin heat rays out of its eyes and moving them about its field of vision. This appears to be somewhat inconsistent in my experience, but the rays apply the fire debuff. The difficulty with this attack comes with the randomness of the rays and the speed at which they move. Despite this, the rays have a very low field of view, and is really only a danger if you are standing in front of the Behemoth. If you do happen to be in the danger zone, get out as quickly as possible, otherwise you might get stunlocked and knocked down repeatedly.
Attack 8: Ground Slam
Damage: 7/10
Dodge Difficulty: 6/10
Frequency: 7/10
This is another common attack amongst Shrike-class Behemoths. (By the way, for those asking, I divide Behemoths into Shrike-class, Embermane-class, Gnasher-class, Quillshot-class, Oddball-class, and Keystone-class. There could also be an argument made for Drask-class, but it only has one variation that’s almost essentially a reskin, so I don’t count it.) The Phaelanx hops into the air before crashing down and making a shockwave. Fairly simple to dodge.
Attack 9: Sonic the Hedgehog
Damage: 9/10
Dodge Difficulty: 8/10
Frequency: 4/10
This is a less-unfair version of the previous roll attack, where it rolls forward. The same rules apply, but it’s more telegraphed by its tail kicking out. Not much else to say.
Attack 10: Famous YouTuber Cr1t1kal (WOOOOOOOOOOO)
Damage: 2/10
Dodge Difficulty: 4/10
Frequency: 1/10
This is the attack where the Phaelanx becomes enraged, where it leaps into the air, dives toward the ground, then rears up and does the WOOOOOOOOO YEAH BABYYYY THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR pose and becoming enraged. It has a very fast dive and a very short telegraph, so keep on your guard. Actually, all things considered, I think that the Phaelanx has the shortest enrage move of any Behemoth. (For those wondering, the Valomyr has the longest enrage move, at a whopping ≈5.5 seconds.) Dodge by going backward.
Attack 11: Fenroar Cosplay
Damage: 3/10
Dodge Difficulty: 5/10
Frequency: 2/10
This move aether-charges the Phaelanx. It summons a swirling storm of rock and stone… oh no…

With that out of the way, the storm of EARTH surrounds the Phaelanx before exploding out, damaging any Slayers in a radius around it. Just don’t go near it while it charges this move.
Attack 12: Rain Fire
Damage: 7/10
Dodge Difficulty: 8/10
Frequency: aether-charged/10
This is a fairly brutal attack, where it flaps up into the air before blasting heat rays down at Slayers. Just like the other attack involving the lasers, this one is hard to dodge thanks to the randomness of the beams, but it only occurs while the Behemoth is aether-charged. Dodge by getting out of its FOV.
(This isn’t all the attacks, but I haven’t encountered them enough to list all of them. More will be added later.)
PART 3: USEFUL TIPS ON HUNTING AND PART BREAKING
So. It wasn’t enough to kill one Phaelanx, you want to make armor out of them? Well, I hope you like the Phaelanx, since to make the full set of armor and ONE of the weapons, you’ll have to kill AT LEAST FORTY-FIVE PHAELANXES. So, how do you hunt efficiently? Go for the tails and the heads first, as there’s only one per Behemoth. Ignition Glands and Tempered Ironbeaks will be the hardest reagents to acquire. Usually, Wracked Pinions and Fused Steeldown are acquired accidentally, breaking almost unintentionally. Chrome Wingblades, Serrated Steelfeathers, and Blazeworked Shards are acquired by killing the thing, and are common enough that you’ll almost never have to hunt the beasts specifically for them. They have weirdly low part HP, and breaking parts, unlike ****KING REZAKIRIS AND THEIR STUPID EXOSKELETAL PLATES AND LUSTROUS TAILPLATES I SWEAR TO GOD THEY HAVE A BIGGER HEALTH POOL THAN THE BEHEMOTH ITSELF, is relatively easy.
Cobra’s Hunting Tips:
- Stay on the move! Phaelanxes have a variety of attacks that punish Slayers that stand still.
- If you are set on fire, and you didn’t know this already, dodging reduces the remaining effect time.
- Don’t get greedy. Whenever the Phaelanx starts recovering, your guard should go up.
- Manage your stamina. You really don’t want to get caught between a rock and a six-ton flaming biomechanical killing machine.
- Listen carefully. A lot of the Behemoth’s attacks, specifically the rocket dash, have audio cues.
- If there’s two Behemoths, prioritize the Phaelanx. Even if the other one is on the other side of the arena, a Phaelanx can close the gap in an instant.
- Always keep an eye on its target. If it starts targeting you, put some distance between you and the Phaelanx, have a breather, and try to avoid being set on fire.
- Stay to the sides of the Behemoth and avoid the front or back. Unlike other Behemoths like the Skarn, the Valomyr, or the Fenroar, Phaelanxes have no method of attacking you sideways.
- Make every opening count. You can safely pummel them during their laser attack, their fire geyser, and their missile attacks.

They are gauging the comments to see if folks have moved on from asking about her health. I bet they haven’t. I also bet it won’t matter.
- Travis really went to Nashville this week and apparently visited Lawson. I certainly hope it wasn’t for musical inspiration. Back at home Katie went to her doctor’s appointment with Carlin and spent time modeling for BSB. She and Trav explained that he will only be featured at select dates on this tour… making it even stranger that they say this was the reason for the move. They detest apartment living and plan to buy a house in about a year. New Jersey who??
- Whitney continued her jaunt through 90s nostalgia by taking her husband to his VERY FIRST concert ever. It was Tim McGraw (he once threw up on my pony hair boots, but that’s another story) and they bought merch and sang songs and acted almost like normal folks. On the way to the show she sold colostrum. Not her own, thankfully. She also participated in a huge give away, sold Seed, mixtiles and Abeka. Girlfriend is working. Brad was featured brother-moming and Zach is still so stiff and boring in his Bates Kitchen. He did mention his real estate career. Katie needs a house Zach!
- Who remembers the episode of BUB where Zach and Whitney bought that faux leather couch from Rent-A-Center? Well yall I swear that couch is in Michael’s living room now… along with a ton of high dollar filming equipment. I mean they really have the works… this week they used it for Brandon to do some middle school art project with markers and paint shop pro. They checked out JebJud from the big house to do the voice over. A thousand views and counting…
- Lawson and Tiffy have made it to mid February in their sitcom. He ran around a lot asking people about bowling scores while rolling gutter balls galore himself. He also caught Katie chatting with Tiffy about pregnancy sooo how was this revealed the following day? No wonder Kelly Jo is always screaming “YOU LIE”… it’s bc they do.
- It was Trace and Lydia’s turn to go exploit the grandparents in Honea Path. Unlike Carlin and Evan, these 2 did some actual work on the farm. There was a whole crowd at the farm and Trace insisted on referring to his wife as “Pretty Lydia” to PaPa Bill. Later, Lydia showed us all her family’s Emu which is WAY more interesting than another second of Trace Bates.
- The hardest thing Trace did at the farm was corner Chad Paine for an interview. Chad was seething with anger. He did let us know that they were open to coming back to Tennessee. He said wherever God calls them. Translation- whoever gives them a free house. Erin is fully off of restriction and back to baking. She showed up with tight skin and round cheeks and let everyone know she is PaPa Bills “favorite granddaughter”. Chad said they hadn’t been to the farm since Thanksgiving. Carson strapped all the babies in and strolled them around the farm in his ever expanding role of babysitter.
- Josie started the week featuring her baby’s blow out and ended it living her best life in a super modern Arizona AirBnB. The Balkas have money yall. Kelton went off to a conference and left Josie and her girlfriends to make content till their hearts content. She lied and said again that she was finding her style. That’s just code word for buying lots of new clothes. She exploited her girls in their bathing suits, filmed in the airport and announced that she will no longer be selling her knock off Temu jewelry.
- Our favorite comatose Christian, Alyssa Webster, finally woke up this week and giggled like a teenager as she ditched her five children and went on a trip with just Lurch. The usually sullen kids were also beside themselves with happiness as they pushed their parents out of the way and ran to a bit of freedom. Allie called her mom out and let it be known that she had done the packing. We suspected as much bc earlier this week Alyssa gave Allie the highest compliment by calling her “the best little helper”. As if there is a choice. Before the trip Alyssa rolled out new content featuring this new fangled contraption called a “sun roof”. The crowd went wild. Once back from the trip she plans to drink coffee with the sun roof OPEN. Hold onto your drawers girls… it’s getting wild!!
- Bits and Bytes…Kelly Joe and Gil were together at the farm where Kelly sat on the porch and Gil told us his family nickname is “the golden child”. Kelly is also making the public speaking rounds at churches. Get that bag, KJ! BSB sold out of almost their entire Spring line. That means there ARE a ton of folks still willing to overpay for that fast fashion. They also hired another new employee. Anyone know who “ANN” is? Carlin specifically thanked her for sending her kids new outfits. Trace, Travis, Evan and Warden are all apparently playing fundie football. I heard it was “touch”.👀

 | I sat for my eJPTv2 exam this past Saturday and I must say it was such a great experience. I thought I could share my experience and perhaps it may help you ace the exam too. submitted by Theafroceo to eLearnSecurity [link] [comments] So, I have about 10 years of SysAdmin experience and this exam is one of the few I am using to pivot (we will talk about this shortly lol) my career into Cyber Security, ethical hacking to be precise. My experience was beneficial but you don't need that level of experience. You only need the fundamentals of networking, Windows, and Linux, you can refresh these on THM. Tips for studying: First of all, everything you need to pass the exam is in the study material. I completed all my studying in 3-4 months. It could have been way shorter. My study method is always structured this way:
I completed mine with 26 hours on the clock. Again, I could have done it in less time had I not tried to be a superhero (trying to use hacking methods I learned elsewhere). I also slept for about 6 hours during this time.

Hi everyone! I decided to waste my time spend my day looking at roughly 200 approvals and disapprovals for Astarion across all three acts and analyzing it. As such, this post will contain spoilers!
Why did I do this?
Chart One: Out of 145 choices, where do his approval points fall?
This is overall data for all three acts. As you can see, he overall prefers evil choices!
Chart Two: Out of 66 choices, where do his disapproval points fall?
Again, this is data for all three acts. He really does not approve of most good choices!
I’m sure most people are thinking - this shit is obvious. We all know he hates being nice. So now we run into the more important stuff: does he actually change over time?
Chart Three: How do his approval points change over each act?
At this point, the number of choices in act two and three is VERY different from the amount offered in act one (my sample was 96 choices in act one vs 24 in act two and 25 in act three). To help the data make more sense, I switched over to a percentage based system instead. The findings are as follows: he approves of less evil choices over time, more chaotic ones, and more good ones.
So he gets less evil and more good, right? Well, it’s a bit more complicated than that because we also have to consider how his disapproval points change over time.
Chart Four: How do his disapprovals change over each act?
With the above, we can see that he disapproves of more good choices over time and less good and evil choices.
To keep things simple, I decided to then compare these findings by just looking at the difference between Act One and Act Three approvals vs. disapprovals.
Chart Five: How do his approvals/disapprovals compare between Act One and Act Three?
This leads us to the final result: He becomes 4.87% less good, 8.36% more chaotic, and 3.49% less evil. So he does, in fact, get worse!

Where did you get your data?
- All of it is pulled from the Wiki. While I would love to play the game and track all the approvals/disapproval points for my data to be more accurate, it would just take me too much time. Using the Wiki approvals/disapprovals, I categorized them into four categories: good, neutral, chaotic, and evil. As these choices were judged by my own morality, some people may feel certain choices should be categorized differently and as such - again - my data will not be completely accurate.
- Basically, for each approval/disapproval I asked myself: would I pick this option on a good, evil, or chaotic playthrough? If it could fall into multiple categories, I instead put it as neutral and removed it from consideration so it would not affect the overall data. To be more transparent, here are some examples in each category:
- Good choices: this includes things like helping Zevlor without asking for payment, warning Isobel about Marcus, or helping Yenna
- Evil choices: this includes things like siding with Minthara, helping Marcus, or telling Yenna to get lost
- Chaotic choices: this includes things like saving Barcus but asking for payment, stealing Balthazar’s mother, or booing at Dribbles the clown
- Neutral choices: This includes choices like telling Ethel about the tadpole, talking the Thisobalds into killing themselves, or how you go about getting into the House of Hope.
- I went into this with the intention that you were romancing him. As such, romance-specific events/scenes were discarded as I assumed the best option would be picked. This means nothing to do with him biting you, speaking with Araj, how you deal with Yurgir, or the love test is included. None of his event points are included either - such as discussing who would have the best blood or telling him he’s beautiful.
- Anything to do with Scratch, the Owlbear, or the various cats was not included, as I’ve found most people say that even on an ‘evil’ playthrough they will still help the animals.
- Ritual choices were also discarded, so nothing to do with him staying Spawn vs. Ascending was included.
- Duplicate choices were removed. For example, some conversations go like:
- 1. Kill him [Astarion +1]
- 2. Save him [Astarion -1]
- 3. [Wizard] Save him [Astarion -1]
- I did not count this as 1 evil approval and 2 good disapprovals as the second and third choice are the same thing. Instead, duplicates were removed so something like this would be counted as 1 evil approval and 1 good disapproval.

Hello everyone, today i made some videos with an insta360 ace pro and i had taken 5 videos when i had to forcefully delete them (very long story), keep in mind this was like 8 minutes of footage.
After i did this i took another video on the way home (10 seconds clip).
Now, after i used recuva i was able to retrive all 5 videos but they were damaged, so i used wondershare repair to repair them and it successfully recuvered all five videos but 1, the most important one that was 5 minutes long, and wondershare was shoving the 10 seconds clip i took after deleting those videos as if it was the 5 minutes one.
now i understand that the data maybe overwriten, buat im wondering if a 10 seconds 211mb clip, can overwritten an entire 3.5gb videos, like i should be able to recover 3.3gb of footage right? Also my pc and wondershare is showing my damaged file as an actually 3.5gb file, but why then it recovers the overwritten 10 seconds clip instead of the actual video?

The title basically sums it up. My boyfriend and I both work high-stress, high-demand jobs. We each get four weeks off a year, mine are chosen for me, his are not. He has recently started hunting and I can expect him to be in the woods every opportunity he can, anywhere between 8 and 18 hours. I have mentioned before that it is frustrating to only see him for a few minutes before bed especially because he is hunting game that is a free for all the entire year. He was unhappy but agreed to limit hunting to 2-3 days per week for game that has special seasons and less for free game (I don’t hunt and have never dated someone who has hunted until he decided to take up the hobby, so hopefully I’m using the correct terminology). Previously he had been hunting literally every second he could, four or five days a week.
My problem is this: I have one week off that happens to overlap with spring turkey season. I'm not sure if I count as mix or not

For a bunch of reasons - celebrating third soapiversary, about to hit over two-hundred different soaps shaved with, and there's that little matter of the Lather Games coming up - it's time for some PIFing.
Because 42 is the precise number of mixed samples that fit into a small USPS Priority Mail Box for reasons that only the mice know, that is what this is about. I PIF'd Volumes 1 & 2 of All Your Base PIF Packages back in 2022, took a hiatus from social media much of last year, and back with All Your Base Volumes 3, 4, 5, & 6. As I wrote the first time, when I learned about the PIF concept, I wanted to build the sort of PIF I'd have wanted back in my early days - a soap sampler that puts the focus on exploring a wide range of soap bases. My philosophy is it's better to have a great base and a good fragrance than the reverse.
This is the second in a series of four LatherBot run PIFS for four sets of forty-two (42) soap samples. I'll post a new PIF for another set about once a day until all four are up. Each PIF will run for 75 hours with a minimum karma requirement of 75. Open to CONUS residents. Limit one win per unique human. If someone wins more than one, they can pick their choice of the winning packages and I will randomly pick someone from the qualified entrants to serve as runner up for the unpicked package(s). Once all the details are squared away, I will get these out no later than the weekend of 11May2024 so they will arrive in plenty of time for the Lather Games.
Each set shares the below eighteen (18) bases
Up for grabs is the second of four sets of 42 shaving soap samples, All Your Base Vol 4.
These are split more or less evenly between partially used commercial samples and hand packed sample containers from larger samples (e.g. Stirling) or tubs. The partially used commercial samples have anywhere from 2-5 shaves left in them. The hand packed have as many as 6-7 shaves available. Available shaves are based on a level quarter teaspoon per shave. Put another way, this is about two tubs worth of shave soap, just spread out out across many tiny containers.
NOTE: All the used commercial samples were only scooped with a clean metal spoon. Some of the hand packed samples are from tubs that were previously brush loaded from. Those soaps were thoroughly rinsed and the upper layer removed before packing. I would have no issue using soaps from someone else prepared like this, but if you’re a hardcore germophobe, please pass on this PIF.
Depending if you count BaM's Rhapsody in Soft Heart and Omnibus as one or two soaps, I have shaved with 198 or 199 different soaps since ditching the canned goo. Let's do a pick a number PIF based on those numbers. Good luck

I have since replaced that with some new items, which for this sale, are five pieces of identical AU 58 10 Cents from Kwangtung, struck in 1914, the 3rd Year of the Republic. These are rather scarce issues and these come with a grade too.
As background, I am trying to slim down my non-Asian collection as I have to pay for some new Asian (and specifically, Chinese coins) that came into my collection. Hence, I have decided to let go some of my non-Asian coins in my "for sale" inventory that I have mostly sent for grading and have the honor to have in my collection during my college years. With what is remaining, I have some highlights which include my MS 63 NGC British Trade Dollar and the 1863 Siamese Crown of 2 Baht, which weighs 30 grams. There is also, in the realm of Indian coinage, my Alwar Rupee with extra stem variety from 1891, which is the PCGS top pop coin! :D (PCGS plate too!). Also interesting is my Japanese 1 Yen from 1914, the last year of these 1 Yen from the Osaka Mint which were the dollar or crown sized types.
Lastly, I have offloaded some of my Sinkiang ration 5 miscal or mace coins that are from the Tihwa Mint (Urumchi) in their as struck state, which is their weak strikes and some of the black tone found on Sinkiang pieces. Finally, I have some larger crowns graded XF 40 and AU C/S from Spanish Colonial Philippines, with nice toning, and from both rulers: Ferdinand the 7th and Isabella the 2nd, which are type 5 and type 6 counterstamps, respectively.
To be transparent, I have been trying to get some more Chinese and Annamnese (Vietnamnese) coins in the near future, so I have to offload some of my stuff to get towards my collecting goals.

I hit 1000 hours on 4/25.

It feels amazing to see four digits. Back when I had hit 600, I was a little tired at first and thought, no rush, I’ll keep steady with my two-hour goal and get there by summer. But as I got closer, I was doing more and more each day. After hitting about 900 hours and switching to advanced videos, the hours added up quickly.
Looking back at my four goals from my level 5 update, 1-2 are complete and 3 is set up. 4 is a fall goal that I seem to be on track for. Goal one was 700 by January, which I accomplished. Goal two was 1000 by June or a stretch goal of April and I hit the stretch goal! Goal three is to speak a lot during the summer vacation. I have about one speaking class per week set up right now, starting today, and am working on setting up a 7-10 day trip to LATAM to do some volunteer work so I can practice using Spanish vs. just taking a vacation when it can be easier to not use Spanish as much.
During the phase of 600-800 hours I spent my time mostly in intermediate DS and binge listened to How to Spanish podcast (I tend to take the approach of input being easier, so harder things were accessible, but prefer to stay lower until it gets boring). I also watched the first season on La Casa De Flores on Netflix. It was a little difficult, but I could follow the story. There were just some little things here and there I’m sure I missed. I watched without subs of any kind, not even Spanish, and overall it was fine. I haven't tried the second season and don’t know if I will because while it was interesting, it isn’t necessarily something I think I’d like. I’d prefer more story and less everyone sleeping with everyone else. So I may look for some other thing to watch at some point, but am busy for about one more month until the school year ends (I’m a teacher, not a student, I’m old…ok, not really, just 31).
At some point after 800 hours and as I approached 900 hours I finished previous podcasts and started No Hay Tos. I think their podcast is a little harder than How to Spanish as they speak a bit faster and more casually, but I enjoyed it. I did skip over all the special episodes though as I found they just used a lot of English to explain these words and phrases, so I’ve been sticking to regular episodes. I did tire of it though and have listened to a few over the past 100 hours, but am not binging it anymore. I also listened to half of the episodes of El Oso Latino. I think the speaker is very fun, but there is so much music in there and the chronicas del gringo section is so cringy, I couldn’t finish it. The second speaker learned Spanish and overall he sounds fine, but the way he pronounces the “r” sounds like he is choking or something and I can’t take the sound. It felt like it wasn’t the best use of the little time I had each day for input. But if one wants Peruvian input, it’s only 26 episodes and not active anymore, so could be interesting. I ended up switching to a native podcast Qué Cacao, which is great as she speaks very clearly and her voice is very calming. During the last 50 hours or so, I’ve use my commute to listen to Se Habla Español, which I had tried last year when I had like 300 hours and it was way too difficult. Now it is easy and it’s fun to listen to clips from famous people and I think I may be learning a lot of names of actors, writers, etc. It is Spain content. I don’t strictly adhere to a certain accent, even though I’d prefer Mexican because most of the people I work with that I want to interact in Spanish with come from Mexico. I just follow what’s interesting and accessible.
With Dreaming Spanish, as I was getting closer to 900 I found intermediate had started to become boring for me. There weren’t too many new topics that stood out and made me want to watch and I felt like I wasted time scrolling. So I just looked up the rest of Pablo’s stories, which had always been hard for me, and I watched the rest. I was about 50/50 with getting the ending or not. I would always understand the main story, but sometimes he would say the ending and I’d think “Wait, what?” Other times I’d be able to see it coming. Then I switched to advanced and it was a game changer! My interest grew and I’ve spent basically all of the time minus driving on DS instead of podcasts or other things because there are SO MANY more interesting videos in advanced. There are some that are a little hard to understand, so I did sort by easy for a bit, but now it seems like most are fine. Occasionally if one is hard, I just stop and know I’ll come back to it later. The nice thing about advanced as well is that I have been able to use many like a podcast (I do have the premium podcast feed) so I can use those with my commute as well since the majority don’t rely on having images.
From 900 to now, these are some native youtube channels I’ve come across, mostly just popped up in recommended, that I’ve been enjoying and are comfortable for me: Cocinando Corea, Mila, Anita Mateu, News channels like BBC News Mundo and France 24 en Español, Nekijitablog
I have multiple others saved, but haven’t had the time to watch any videos to know the level.
As I moved from 600 to 1000 I think I went through times, like most intermediate learners, where I felt like I was comfortable listening and understood a lot, then times where it felt like I had so much more to learn and it was difficult. But I would say the most noticeable difference in feeling much more comfortable was somewhere around 900. That’s when it felt like I actually had a chance to speak and understand well by 1000. So if you’re in the 800s feeling doubtful, wait for the 900s and it may feel better. Of course, every person has unique circumstances that may put them a little ahead or behind, so patience in general because it will come in time. It’s wild to me to think that a little over a year ago I struggled with super beginner videos, but now I understand when native speakers talk to me and I can watch native content and follow along compared to the failures I felt over a decade ago with 3 years of being one of the “best” students in high school Spanish classes but not being able to speak or understand when I went to a trip in Mexico and later on with Korean, being so slow and choppy when trying to speak, both done with traditional grammar study to learn instead of acquire.
Reading since 950
At about 950 hours I decided I would start reading. I started by switching my phone over to Spanish. This has been fine. I think there was only once where I felt uncertain and moved to my desktop, but 99% of the time it’s fine. Using the phone in Spanish even helped with a word that has been standing out to me but haven’t quite figured the meaning. Then I saw it on my phone and thought, That’s the word! So I knew in at least one context of the meaning. I have a couple books, but haven’t really been able to get to them as much as I would have liked because I’ve just been hyper focused on the input to hit 1000. But I have read two of the stories from Olly Richards Short Stories in Spanish (I had bought it over a year ago before DS). The first story was easy, the second a little harder, but I followed the story fine. I don’t know that I’d say it was the ideal 98% or higher known words as Beniko Mason’s research shows is ideal, but working with what I have to get started. I also found Hábitos Atómicos at my library. I’ve read and I own the book in English, so I thought why not. I was planning to finish the short stories book first then read it, but now someone else put it on hold, so I’ve read the intro and first chapter. I’ll have to return it to the library tomorrow, so I’ll try to read a few more pages, then may try to put it on hold myself to get again in a month or so. I was surprised that it wasn’t super difficult. Again, a fair amount of unknown words, but having read it before I think helped. Many libraries where I live do have Spanish sections in both adults and kids so I may see if there are some middle grade novels in Spanish to try and read and see how those go. It’s easy to find picture books, but would like to find something with a bit of length. That’s maybe the downside to the short stories book is that each story is just three chapters or about 10-15 pages max. With reading so far, I’ve noticed it’s like when I had around 300 hours and when I would try to listen to more than 2 hours a day, my brain was just tired. It’s like that with reading. I don’t have the stamina to keep reading for a long time, but I’m sure it will grow quickly as I read more. I wonder if it would be less noticeable if I find a middle grade novel to read where I can get into a story and follow characters for a longer time. Long term, I will track my number of words read, first goal being 1 million words, then hitting 3 million. After that point I wouldn’t bother to count my words. I only plan to track as I finish a book then record how many words it was roughly.
Speaking at 1000 hours
Yesterday I had my first conversation in Spanish. In the past year I’ve had some crosstalk experience, but not as much I would have liked. It’s just been difficult to schedule with my work and family life. Yesterday I was nervous, but in the days leading up to it, I had sentences and mini conversations in my head about what I could say and was surprised that I could pretty easily come up with sentences. When I actually spoke I don’t know that it was as fluid as it was in my head, but I was able to have a conversation for 45 minutes. It was with a tutor that I had not met before so we didn’t know anything about each other. I would say I failed to ask any questions. I think I was pretty nervous and mostly was just trying to explain my ideas. As a person that loves to talk a lot in English, it was difficult in that I couldn’t say exactly what I wanted to say or talk at the speed I usually do. There were certainly words that I couldn’t figure out what to use, but could talk my way around them for the most part. Sometimes I tried explaining and then paused to avoid trying to say something in English because that was a bad habit I had as a language learner in the past. So I am happy to say I only said an English word once. I don’t even remember what it was I couldn’t say. Realized I was trying to use a lot of different verbs and she said, just use “fui” you don’t need to use all those other verbs, using a form of “ir” is way easier. I did record the conversation, so sometime I’ll try to listen back and see how it seemed. The tutor said at the end that my pronunciation was very good and I didn’t have a gringo accent (yay!). I think she was being overly nice when she said she wouldn’t have been able to tell I was a native English speaker, because I noticed some words that sounded funny to my ear. She thought overall my speaking was pretty good and I only made some small mistakes here and there. Some of them I noticed right after as well, so I am curious to compare speaking the first time to after speaking for 10 hours. I feel like it will get better quickly as the nervousness of never speaking before wears off. Like at first, in my head there was a little anxiety about the “rs” but later when I was more comfortable the words spilled out more easily. What I will say is that my brain was focused on just saying what I wanted to say even if I had to find away around the word and NOT on thinking about the grammar and how to form a sentence like was always my struggle with Korean. Occasionally got stuck on a verb conjugation, so then I just said it in the infinitive if I didn’t really know so that I could keep talking.
I plan to track my speaking hours separately from my input so I have a little spreadsheet I’ve started to track the hours. Not sure how long I’d track and may not bother to record every conversation, but maybe more like classes, just to have a little data on changes I notice at 10 hours, 50 hours, 100 hours, etc. because I am interested in applying this method to other languages in the future and implement changes to language learning in schools in America, so I believe data will be helpful, even if it is anecdotal. It can be a jumping off point if I ever do get into a doctoral program and try to do some real research.
2024 Plans and Goals
If I look back to level 5, I would say with speaking, it sounds spot on with what I can do at level 5, which makes sense if I think about how level 6 is the largest span, with 500 hours from beginning to end so it makes sense that I can’t say right now that I am “conversationally fluent.” I think I would need more time with conversation before I could accurate reflect on this. With the one conversation I have had as of now, I would say what level 5 says fits me, so I look forward to at some point in level 6 hit this “conversationally fluent” ability where I can pretty much say what I need. I would say in terms of listening, however, I would be fine. I imagine I could be part of a conversation where I occasionally give some input, but am more of a listener in the situation. I have no trouble listening to speakers say something to me minus an odd word here or there. Funny, I just typed that and read the “what you are learning” section and is says “You may find the odd common word that you haven’t learned yet…” so I guess that’s true! I will certainly focus on the “what I need to do” section with lots of authentic media, listening, reading, and trying to make friends in Spanish. I’ve felt the roadmap has been pretty accurate for me and imagine as I work through level six I will feel the same.

I’d prefer more story and less everyone sleeping with everyone else. So I may look for some other thing to watch at some point, but am busy for about one more month until the school year ends (I’m a teacher, not a student, I’m old…ok, not really, just 31).
At some point after 800 hours and as I approached 900 hours I finished previous podcasts and started No Hay Tos. I think their podcast is a little harder than How to Spanish as they speak a bit faster and more casually, but I enjoyed it. I did skip over all the special episodes though as I found they just used a lot of English to explain these words and phrases, so I’ve been sticking to regular episodes. I did tire of it though and have listened to a few over the past 100 hours, but am not binging it anymore. I also listened to half of the episodes of El Oso Latino. I think the speaker is very fun, but there is so much music in there and the chronicas del gringo section is so cringy, I couldn’t finish it. The second speaker learned Spanish and overall he sounds fine, but the way he pronounces the “r” sounds like he is choking or something and I can’t take the sound. It felt like it wasn’t the best use of the little time I had each day for input. But if one wants Peruvian input, it’s only 26 episodes and not active anymore, so could be interesting. I ended up switching to a native podcast Qué Cacao, which is great as she speaks very clearly and her voice is very calming. During the last 50 hours or so, I’ve use my commute to listen to Se Habla Español, which I had tried last year when I had like 300 hours and it was way too difficult. Now it is easy and it’s fun to listen to clips from famous people and I think I may be learning a lot of names of actors, writers, etc. It is Spain content. I don’t strictly adhere to a certain accent, even though I’d prefer Mexican because most of the people I work with that I want to interact in Spanish with come from Mexico. I just follow what’s interesting and accessible.
With Dreaming Spanish, as I was getting closer to 900 I found intermediate had started to become boring for me. There weren’t too many new topics that stood out and made me want to watch and I felt like I wasted time scrolling. So I just looked up the rest of Pablo’s stories, which had always been hard for me, and I watched the rest. I was about 50/50 with getting the ending or not. I would always understand the main story, but sometimes he would say the ending and I’d think “Wait, what?” Other times I’d be able to see it coming. Then I switched to advanced and it was a game changer! My interest grew and I’ve spent basically all of the time minus driving on DS instead of podcasts or other things because there are SO MANY more interesting videos in advanced. There are some that are a little hard to understand, so I did sort by easy for a bit, but now it seems like most are fine. Occasionally if one is hard, I just stop and know I’ll come back to it later. The nice thing about advanced as well is that I have been able to use many like a podcast (I do have the premium podcast feed) so I can use those with my commute as well since the majority don’t rely on having images.
From 900 to now, these are some native youtube channels I’ve come across, mostly just popped up in recommended, that I’ve been enjoying and are comfortable for me: Cocinando Corea, Mila, Anita Mateu, News channels like BBC News Mundo and France 24 en Español, Nekijitablog
I have multiple others saved, but haven’t had the time to watch any videos to know the level.
As I moved from 600 to 1000 I think I went through times, like most intermediate learners, where I felt like I was comfortable listening and understood a lot, then times where it felt like I had so much more to learn and it was difficult. But I would say the most noticeable difference in feeling much more comfortable was somewhere around 900. That’s when it felt like I actually had a chance to speak and understand well by 1000. So if you’re in the 800s feeling doubtful, wait for the 900s and it may feel better. Of course, every person has unique circumstances that may put them a little ahead or behind, so patience in general because it will come in time. It’s wild to me to think that a little over a year ago I struggled with super beginner videos, but now I understand when native speakers talk to me and I can watch native content and follow along compared to the failures I felt over a decade ago with 3 years of being one of the “best” students in high school Spanish classes but not being able to speak or understand when I went to a trip in Mexico and later on with Korean, being so slow and choppy when trying to speak, both done with traditional grammar study to learn instead of acquire.
Reading since 950
At about 950 hours I decided I would start reading. I started by switching my phone over to Spanish. This has been fine. I think there was only once where I felt uncertain and moved to my desktop, but 99% of the time it’s fine. Using the phone in Spanish even helped with a word that has been standing out to me but haven’t quite figured the meaning. Then I saw it on my phone and thought, That’s the word! So I knew in at least one context of the meaning. I have a couple books, but haven’t really been able to get to them as much as I would have liked because I’ve just been hyper focused on the input to hit 1000. But I have read two of the stories from Olly Richards Short Stories in Spanish (I had bought it over a year ago before DS). The first story was easy, the second a little harder, but I followed the story fine. I don’t know that I’d say it was the ideal 98% or higher known words as Beniko Mason’s research shows is ideal, but working with what I have to get started. I also found Hábitos Atómicos at my library. I’ve read and I own the book in English, so I thought why not. I was planning to finish the short stories book first then read it, but now someone else put it on hold, so I’ve read the intro and first chapter. I’ll have to return it to the library tomorrow, so I’ll try to read a few more pages, then may try to put it on hold myself to get again in a month or so. I was surprised that it wasn’t super difficult. Again, a fair amount of unknown words, but having read it before I think helped. Many libraries where I live do have Spanish sections in both adults and kids so I may see if there are some middle grade novels in Spanish to try and read and see how those go. It’s easy to find picture books, but would like to find something with a bit of length. That’s maybe the downside to the short stories book is that each story is just three chapters or about 10-15 pages max. With reading so far, I’ve noticed it’s like when I had around 300 hours and when I would try to listen to more than 2 hours a day, my brain was just tired. It’s like that with reading. I don’t have the stamina to keep reading for a long time, but I’m sure it will grow quickly as I read more. I wonder if it would be less noticeable if I find a middle grade novel to read where I can get into a story and follow characters for a longer time. Long term, I will track my number of words read, first goal being 1 million words, then hitting 3 million. After that point I wouldn’t bother to count my words. I only plan to track as I finish a book then record how many words it was roughly.
Speaking at 1000 hours
Yesterday I had my first conversation in Spanish. In the past year I’ve had some crosstalk experience, but not as much I would have liked. It’s just been difficult to schedule with my work and family life. Yesterday I was nervous, but in the days leading up to it, I had sentences and mini conversations in my head about what I could say and was surprised that I could pretty easily come up with sentences. When I actually spoke I don’t know that it was as fluid as it was in my head, but I was able to have a conversation for 45 minutes. It was with a tutor that I had not met before so we didn’t know anything about each other. I would say I failed to ask any questions. I think I was pretty nervous and mostly was just trying to explain my ideas. As a person that loves to talk a lot in English, it was difficult in that I couldn’t say exactly what I wanted to say or talk at the speed I usually do. There were certainly words that I couldn’t figure out what to use, but could talk my way around them for the most part. Sometimes I tried explaining and then paused to avoid trying to say something in English because that was a bad habit I had as a language learner in the past. So I am happy to say I only said an English word once. I don’t even remember what it was I couldn’t say. Realized I was trying to use a lot of different verbs and she said, just use “fui” you don’t need to use all those other verbs, using a form of “ir” is way easier. I did record the conversation, so sometime I’ll try to listen back and see how it seemed. The tutor said at the end that my pronunciation was very good and I didn’t have a gringo accent (yay!). I think she was being overly nice when she said she wouldn’t have been able to tell I was a native English speaker, because I noticed some words that sounded funny to my ear. She thought overall my speaking was pretty good and I only made some small mistakes here and there. Some of them I noticed right after as well, so I am curious to compare speaking the first time to after speaking for 10 hours. I feel like it will get better quickly as the nervousness of never speaking before wears off. Like at first, in my head there was a little anxiety about the “rs” but later when I was more comfortable the words spilled out more easily. What I will say is that my brain was focused on just saying what I wanted to say even if I had to find away around the word and NOT on thinking about the grammar and how to form a sentence like was always my struggle with Korean. Occasionally got stuck on a verb conjugation, so then I just said it in the infinitive if I didn’t really know so that I could keep talking.
I plan to track my speaking hours separately from my input so I have a little spreadsheet I’ve started to track the hours. Not sure how long I’d track and may not bother to record every conversation, but maybe more like classes, just to have a little data on changes I notice at 10 hours, 50 hours, 100 hours, etc. because I am interested in applying this method to other languages in the future and implement changes to language learning in schools in America, so I believe data will be helpful, even if it is anecdotal. It can be a jumping off point if I ever do get into a doctoral program and try to do some real research.
2024 Plans and Goals
- Have conversations in Spanish at least once a week through summer and convince my many bilingual friends to talk to me in Spanish instead of English.
- Travel to LATAM this summer (country to be determined soon).
- In fall, be comfortable conversing with new students to my ESL classes in Spanish when explaining how I run classes.
- 1250 hours by fall, 1500 by the end of the year. This is pretty conservative and I have currently dropped my daily goal from 120 min to 60 min, but expect to go over that most days. I just want to give myself room to take a break now and then and have time for reading and speaking.
If I look back to level 5, I would say with speaking, it sounds spot on with what I can do at level 5, which makes sense if I think about how level 6 is the largest span, with 500 hours from beginning to end so it makes sense that I can’t say right now that I am “conversationally fluent.” I think I would need more time with conversation before I could accurate reflect on this. With the one conversation I have had as of now, I would say what level 5 says fits me, so I look forward to at some point in level 6 hit this “conversationally fluent” ability where I can pretty much say what I need. I would say in terms of listening, however, I would be fine. I imagine I could be part of a conversation where I occasionally give some input, but am more of a listener in the situation. I have no trouble listening to speakers say something to me minus an odd word here or there. Funny, I just typed that and read the “what you are learning” section and is says “You may find the odd common word that you haven’t learned yet…” so I guess that’s true! I will certainly focus on the “what I need to do” section with lots of authentic media, listening, reading, and trying to make friends in Spanish. I’ve felt the roadmap has been pretty accurate for me and imagine as I work through level six I will feel the same.
