Suppose we have an interrupt based DMA peripheral that writes to the RAM the data that it is receiving and when it is done, it sends an interrupt to the CPU. The interrupt handler then does whatever it has to with the stored data and then the OS comes into picture.
The kernel drivers then fire up and determine which IO was completed and then the IO subsystem sends the input data to the desired program. My question is, how is it determined?
At the moment, I know that there are multiple queues of Process Control Blocks maintained within the kernel memory space that store the current process state all the processes. There are queues for programs that are being executed, programs that are waiting for keyboard input, programs that are waiting on a file, programs listening on a socket, etc.
Within these, lets say I was using a UART port to send and receive data from the peripheral. In that case, how is this data sent within the queue to the appropriate process? Is it always sent to the first process? In that case how are the processes added, removed? Is a parent child process relation in the picture?

I (33F) recently moved back to my home country with my husband (M36) and our kids (2,5). We lived abroad for 7 years so this was my first mother's day back in our home country where both my mom and MIL live.
I don't really have a relationship with my in laws mainly due to my husband and them having a complicated relationship (lots of boundary stomping on their part, especially MIL who is very controlling, he had a bad childhood due to MIL not letting him have friends or leave their home for anything other than school and many other reasons). Him wanting to get away from them was the main reason he moved to another country and he had been NC with them for 2 years at one point. Now that we live ~30min apart, we see them every 3-4 months for a maybe an hour and that's about it. My husband sometimes talks to them on the phone, I don't.
Now, the situation. On mother's day, my husband and kids made me breakfast in bed, kids also drew me pictures. After that, my sister picked me and my mom up and we went to a spa and later a restaurant. My kids also drew a picture for my mom (encouraged by my husband I'm sure). My mom posted said picture and some other moments from the day on social media, which she, just like many other middle aged women, often does.
MIL saw my mom's post on facebook and called me (for the first time ever) angry crying, blaming me for ripping her family apart and rubbing it in her face on facebook. She thinks I chose the restaurant we went to just to hurt her (it's very close to her home and I did not choose it, my sister did). Apparently my husband did nothing for her on mother's day. Honestly, I didn't think about her at all that day as we're not close at all. Neither did I tell my husband to include her in his plans as he's a grown man.
I feel really bad about her yelling at me and crying because I hate conflict. My husband told me to ignore it because it's typical behaviour from his mom. According to him, she was unable to get to him so now she's trying to manipulate me into doing what she wants. My sister, however, said I probably should have invited MIL to the restaurant because it's literally 1min walk from her apartment so of course she's hurt now. AITAH here?

So, my story and process is very similar to this thread, but I figure it's worth sharing just to give a bit of hope and info on the process.
April 30th, I wake up to find I'm logged out of my Facebook account, and attempts to log back in reveal it's been disabled for inappropriate Instagram content. To appeal, I need to log in to the Instagram account, which is a Vietnamese username I don't recognise. Familiar story to many, I'm sure. This disabled page gives you the option to download some of your Facebook account, and I believe this was key- the access logs show exactly when and where it was hacked.
My own Instagram is not suspended, but has been unlinked from two accounts at the same time- I assume the hacker's IG and my Facebook.
Fruitlessly search Facebook's FAQs, end up here. Email the support addresses that are listed, no reply at all.
Get Meta Verified through IG to communicate with a human, at £9.99/month. Thinking about it, I should cancel that now.
Go through Meta Verified to communicate the Facebook issue. Raised approximately 20 tickets, but actually found that replying to the same one was more effective in getting replies. Each and every time, they send me links to the Facebook pages that do not work. The loop. I cannot upload ID to verify my identity as it wants me to log in, I cannot log in because it's disabled. I also, as stated, cannot appeal through IG by logging in to the hacker's IG. Each and every time, they try to close the ticket. Replying reopens it.
Eventually, I was escalated to a manager. I work in customer service, I know they'll all have scripts to follow and limits to what they can do. At no point am I getting angry or abusive, but I am making it clear that I have repeated the process, and I screenshot everything, showing my attempts to follow their instructions. I ask them for another way to be put through to the appeals team, because their form will not let me. No dice. Dead end after dead end.
So I come here again, and see the EU reporting form:

You can't access it from the UK, just clicking it gives a page error. You need to use a VPN and put your location in Europe. Thanks, Brexit. I installed the Opera browser, which has a free VPN built in.
THIS WORKED.
I received a ticket from a support agent asking me for:
So I gave it to them. I also gave them some very specific details of the Facebook account- specific photo album names and status updates, information about Events I had previously organised through Facebook, what the banner picture was- anything extra that I thought could sway them to believe I was who I said I was. I underlined how the "permanently disabled after 30 days" part would mean losing all contact with specific people on the account, and I told them I'd travel to Facebook HQ to verify my identity face to face if need be. I didn't know what the hacker may have done with any of those things, but I included anything I thought could be reviewed and proven as true. I again attached the access logs and disabled screenshots.
Within 12 hours I had a reply stating they had secured my account with the new email address and a password reset link. It worked. The EU link through a VPN worked for me.
I appreciate the story probably ends there for most people, but since regaining access, I looked into what had been done by the hacker. They had added someone Vietnamese (themselves?) as a Facebook friend, who I have obviously now reported and blocked. They had not touched my wall, friends, photos or statues.
More importantly, and probably their whole aim, they set up a Facebook Ad Account under my name, and started spamming paid ads for something Vietnamese. They used someone's credit card details to do this, for about US$300- the details were not mine, so I guess someone else got a shock and cancelled the payments when they noticed.
However, my linked PayPal account was listed as a backup payment account, and my home address listed as the business account address. As I did not authorise the payments with PayPal, no funds left the account, and because the payments failed, the ads were suspended- I discovered this from notifications that they had on Facebook.
I am obviously taking steps now to close that Ad Account with Facebook.
And, as far as I can tell, that's it. My Facebook account was a perfectly normal, standard personal account. I'm going to spend today backing up photos on it, because it has made me very aware of just how much I'd have list if I hadn't found a way to resolve this.

I have asked similar to this before but I recently went to NRW for a week and found myself very paranoid about photos in general. Years ago on previous trips I had no knowledge of German image laws so didn't have the same paranoia.
I don't know if I let it affect my trip unnecessarily but am I right in my understanding of the law in this way?
KunstUrhG §22. Realistically doesn't apply to taking pictures in public only sharing them. If someone is incidental or unrecognisable to your photo then no infringement applies. If they are the focus of the photo and you didn't get permission and somehow they find the photo online some day they could ask you to remove it and if they really insist they can go through legal channels and get a cease and dissist letter sent.
If they don't do this step first it could be complex further down the line to sue. Any attempt to sue over the image will delve into a complex Web of rights balances and public interest and artistic value etc. I think I'm fairly correct that basically... it'll never apply to anyone taking tourist pics or sharing random photos of whatever and whenever on Facebook or with friends.
Second question though... StGB § 201a is new, I think its an attempt to deal with revenge porn but it has some funny examples. It's illegal and punishable by a fine or prison sentence to take pictures of someone in a vulnerable state without consent an example given is someone who is too drunk to look after themselves.
Both legislations require a complaint from the person in the image.
So my question really.. do these laws actually affect anyone in real life ? Are people going to prison for taking a picture of a drunk dude asleep on a train or posting their mate Timo on facebook who fell asleep in a bar on his birthday?
Because a lot of aspects of the relevant legislation seem uncomfortably over zealous to me. Things I never would have considered to have legal implications apparently have quite possible legal outcomes in Germany.
Any discussion of the above in threads I've seen so far either say don't worry none of these laws affect most people in real life or on the flip they try to suggest that the only thing you can safely take a picture of and share it is the floor in your hotel room.

I’ve (26F) been with my bf (25M) for about 3 years now. He has always been I guess somewhat Facebook famous. He has like a lot girls on there mostly from his hometown and honestly it never really bothered me. For the past few months I’ve kind of hit rock bottom as far as taking care of myself after having my baby. Been a little more insecure and what not. For some reason I was noticing how he still has these girls comment on his pictures. There’s one particular who commented on his daughters (not my daughter) picture talking about “happy birthday to MY baby”. He of course responded and I can’t help but feel jealous. I’ve told him how I feel about it and he seems to just brush it off by saying you don’t need to worry about them but in my head I kind of do bc it’s like he left some doors open to her. Anyways he says he’s willing to delete all of the girls for me but I tell him that’s not the point, I just don’t see the point in still responding to their comments. Even typing this out makes me feel stupid and like a joke. He seems to always defend himself instead of trying to make me feel better. What do y’all recommend I say? My case is that my account was hacked and I don't know how.
I haven't logged into my PUBG Mobile account for some 2 years and I recently received an email telling me that a phone number from the country of Uzbekistan has been added to the account. I always used my account in the North America - Dominican Republic region and now it appears in Uzbekistan. When I accessed the account for a few minutes I realized that the account had already been in use for 4 months by another person whom I never authorized access to.
To test the authenticity of the account a little, I have access to the email that I linked to the account at the beginning, which is the email isaigonzalezruiz9@gmail.com and I have never changed it.
I also have the Facebook with which I linked the account to which I will attach some images of the accounts, both email and Facebook and also some Google Play invoices from some purchases I made on 11/21/2021.

Duration of Complaint: ~2 ½ Months
For roughly two and a half months now, I've had a combination of two different issues. The first being a pretty significant amount of discomfort in my forearm. It's a very specific spot, specifically the red circle in this picture. The discomfort is mostly trigger based, specifically if I'm using a computer, to which I can really only actively use the mouse for around half an hour before it becomes too uncomfortable and starts bordering on painful. There's also a very consistent "popping" directly right in that area, it typically happens if my wrist is bent downwards, and then "pops" when I bring my wrist back up. It's not like normal popping where it happens once and stops, it happens each and every time I do it, UNLESS I put pressure on the spot, then it stops. It's not audible, but I can "feel" it happen.
The second issue, and honesty the one that bothers me more, is my middle finger, on the same arm. This finger, very specifically that one finger, sporadically becomes very stiff I suppose is the best description of it. For example, if I'm attempting to type, there are times where my finger almost feels like it stops responding, and I have to basically take my fingers off the keyboard and quickly "stretch" my fingers out, and then I can sort of use it again temporarily. I think it seems to happen more or less often depending on the "position" of my arm, but I don't know if that's really true or me being obsessive. Possibly related to this, but in the image I linked earlier, in the green circle, there's something, muscles(?) that will occasionally start spasming. Nothing extreme I don't think, but it's actually visible, I can see that part of my hand start squirming and twitching. It's not painful, but once again, it's very uncomfortable when it happens, and primarily happens if my hand is idle and resting on something. The tip of that finger also feels "tight" if I stretch it out too far, and all around just feels "off" most of the time, even when it's not going unresponsive, to the point of making manipulating things with that hand mildly difficult at times.
To add to all this, this is all exclusively to my right hand and arm. My left arm I believe is more or less unaffected, nor do any of my other limbs appear to be either.
As background here, I do use the computer, excessively. The bulk majority of my job is computer based, and when I'm not at work I mostly spend my day mindlessly scrolling websites online. I also feel like up until very recently when I started becoming more aware of it, my positioning of my arms at my desk at work is rather awkward. I don't feel like it's a coincidence that the arm affected is the one that I use the mouse with, and the finger that's messed up is the finger I have almost constantly on the scroll wheel. What I don't understand though is that this isn't anything new, this has been most of my adult life, and I've never had this issue until a few months ago. It's also been going on for longer than I expected it to, and doesn't feel like it's getting any better. As this may be relevant, I also have severe untreated anxiety issues, so I'm not ruling out that this might actually just all be in my head, I truthfully can't tell if it is or isn't. Doubly so considering I have become pretty consumed by obsession over it by this point.
I have tried compression gloves, icing, bandaging the arm to apply pressure on the spot, OTC medications, finger splints, none of this appears to help. I also thought maybe it might be dehydration based, so I've made an active effort to increase the amount of water I drink, which also hasn't appeared to help. The best I can get is the bandaging across my arm will occasionally make my arm feel a bit better to a point, and then eventually the pressure becomes more uncomfortable than the arm itself and I loosen it up. I have not gotten it checked out professionally, to make things short(er) here lets just say at the moment I am unable to access a doctor (pretty much entirely due to the severe anxiety). I've basically run the entire gamut of looking up every single thing I could find that could be linked to this, and my best guesses are a combination of forearm tendonitis and trigger finger? Or at least I'm hoping that's what this is, as a lot of the alternatives don't seem to be all too fun. My biggest hang up with that though is that this feels like it's been going on longer than it should be if that's the case.

Every kid growing up in Gympie in the early 90- 2000s knew about the Love Tunnel.
The love tunnel was located over the hill from the skatepark on the Riverbank. It was a massive storm water drain filled with spray paint and lore unbound throughout the generations; the glowing dick, whose name is the furthest in, the people who live inside, the bull shark that lived under the bridge just outside, all that fun stuff.
It collapsed in the late 2000’s in a flood and was eventually rebuilt, but it was all fancy, modern, safe and not the same. Back in the day it had decades of graffiti, crumbling cement, jagged metal pole framing bent and jutting out from the sides. You know, real character.
I remember when I was just a kid at the skatepark and I spotted a bunch of other kids at the metal grating of a drain. I joined them and gazed down a few metres to some older teenagers, they had trekked through this “love tunnel” under the massive hill all this way. Badass I thought. LEGENDARY.
I talked about it at school, about this mysterious “love tunnel”. It was in view from the road when I crossed the bridge everyday on my daily commutes from the backseat of mums car.
I would gaze down at the weir and see the top of the love tunnel, sliightly hidden from view by a hill. It fascinated me.
I learned all these mysterious tales; this person slept with this person there, someone took a dump at the entrance and some other girl stood in it and now she had a nickname, someone found needles, another found a homeless woman and she screamed at them. I was pumped for the next weekend. I was going to go see it for myself.
I saw too much.
Early Saturday morning I was riding my push bike through town and toward destination adventure! I started out at the skatepark, met up with a few of the regulars, a mix of 5-19y/o everyone on the half pipes and ramps had a code of comrady that I've never found in a public place anywhere else and you always had someone to hang with.
My usual crew slowly arrived through the morning, a bunch of other 10/11 year old misfits like myself and we headed on our first place on our journey, Hungry Jacks. Now we never technically stole, we found a loophole…
One or two would order a stunner meal, then we'd take privilege of the free refills and fill up the empty plastic 4L juice jugs that we all had prepped in our backpacks. Coke and red Fanta for days.
So we got our supplies and headed behind HJ, past the volleyball courts and headed down a bush track down to the river.
We walked along the banks to loop back down to where the bridge was, we passed a few teenagers fishing and a couple other groups of kids swinging from rope swings into the water or huddled in groups smoking things they shouldn't.
We eventually arrived at the weir and the stormwater drain that I had been so intrigued by. The Love Tunnel.
Climbing up the hill and seeing it up close when you were just a tiny human. It was like staring into the dark abyss of hell.
There was a small stream of water flowing out of the big grey cylinder and it was covered in multicolored quotes and crude pictures that was very eye opening at the time.
Our voices echoed as one by one we climbed up the grassy, eroding clay edging that was the makeshift path into the mouth that probably changed each time it rained. Each of us had pulled out clumps of grass that we thought were handholds. If you fell, you fell down an embankment of slippery jagged rocks poking out from the fast flowing river.
So were inside and began to walk a couple of metres in then around us the light abruptly disappeared into complete darkness. And I remember the way the sounds traveled you could feel it through your chest it was mesmerizing.
I remember bravely stepping into the darkness and taking five or six steps in. That thick darkness was something else, I ran myself back to that entrance and light, heart pounding from the adrenaline.
This turned into a game of who could go in the furthest. This stopped when one of the boys screamed out from the darkness in pain.
He was back in the light teary eyed a few moments later wet on one side and feigning a laugh. He'd slipped down and cut open his knee, it was hilarious. We teased him saying he was going to get gangrene and leprosy and a myriad of other ailments we had no idea actually was.
We decided to bail, we forgot torches, we didn't plan that part out too well, and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon being little menaces.
We met the next day with a game plan, we had an array of various sized torches, from small ones that didn't do anything, one of those giant rectangle ones that was our main light source, a couple of handheld ones, one which flickered and the other stopped working before we even got into the tunnel.
We got in safely and tested out our torches and began walking into the unknown. It was pretty much the same as before, but there were strange things, old makeshift bongs, shopping bags, random shoes, a shopping trolley, a mattress that was all moldy and rotted. I still to this day do not understand how people managed to get that shit in there.
We passed a section where someone had thrown a can of red paint all over the walls, the amount of those ‘S’ symbols was more terrifying.
We saw light up ahead, we were passing our first grate. It was kind of daunting looking up towards it. Even getting on each other's shoulders we couldn't reach. There was an array of broken beer bottles and glass was everywhere, under the grate was a dead snake amongst some debris.
We had a debate whether to go further, we ended up going on at least until the next grate, we came to a fork, one seemed like a smaller offshoot so we stuck to the bigger side.
There were more offshoots and we came to a part where the big pipes split off into three under another grate. We gazed up hoping to get an identifier of our location, but all we could see was blue. We called out to see if we could get anyone's attention.
“Cooooweeee” we shouted in unison, the sound echoing in all directions.
We were laughing and having a grand time until something shouted back, something that still shakes me to my core to this day.
Some yobbo crackhead chick in her fifties with this ratty pink tank top that was all stretched half showing her saggy titties. “What the fuck you think you little cunts doing down here.” This chick screeched at us through her few teeth or something along the lines of that. She just exploded at us with a barrage of threats.
We were shocked silenced moving together to make one mass.
One of the boys screamed when a skinny guy emerged from the darkness. He was covered in tattoos with scraggly hair and a beard, he was all crazy eyed and pantless.
Someone yelled out to run and it was all the motivation we needed.
We could hear them screaming and the guy ran after us, we heard glass shattering behind us, they must have thrown a bottle. We were legging it.
We got split up in our running, I fell down, tripping over some rubbish, one mate stayed back to help me, this left us without a torch. We came across the same kid who slipped over yesterday, he had slipped down again cutting open his other knee. He wore those with badges of honor at school, but he was blubbering like a baby at this point.
He had the flickering torch and it disoriented us more than helped, as it turned on and off every time he took a step. I thought we were lost but we found the other grate, then eventually the entrance.
The others were already climbed down, we were soon by their side panting in the grass and wiping away our tears so the others couldn't see.
We ran back over to the skatepark and immediately told every kid we saw.
That was the wildest shit we had ever experienced. Sure we’d seen crazy up on the street but to have it jump out at you from the shadows in a storm water drain was next level.
By that night one of the other boys had spilled to his parents about our escapades and a couple of other mums got phone calls, three got in trouble, two of us didn't, including me.
I never stepped foot back in that tunnel, I swam at the weir more times than I could count afterwards though and never encountered anyone else too sketchy.
I think only a year or two later I saw on the news people dying in storm water drains somewhere else in Aus, we never realized how dangerous they could be back then. Lol.
Every party or get together afterwards it was a crowd favorite to bring up. It was a good conversation starter and joined the tales amongst my friends of the weird shit that happens in ‘Helltown’.
Growing up and looking back they were probably just homeless drug addicts freaked out from a bunch of children's voices yelling out coooweee from the underground where they thought they were alone. That would have scared the shit outta me if I was them.

This incident was always in the back of my mind whenever I would think about Michael Jackson as i just remembered it so vividly. I remember first hearing about it maybe a few years after his death, I might have saw it on the news or my mom showed me a facebook post about it on her phone. It was only when i brought it up recently to some friends who slightly remembered it that I realized no such incident occurred with absolutely 0 evidence. I could be mixing a few incidents up, such as general impersonators and the general hysteria associated with MJ concerts, but I really truly remember one isolated incident in which a lot of people were hospitalized or killed. I even feel like I remember seeing a picture of the guys face but I cant put a finger on it.
