2024.05.14 01:01 MerkadoBarkada COMING UP: This week; PH: OGP 1st week; PH: BSP rate decision; PH: UBP SRO start; INT'L: US April inflation; OceanaGold falls 6% in 1st day of trading; CREIT, MREIT, and FILRT declare Q1 divs (Tuesday, May 14)

Happy Tuesday, Barkada --

The PSE gained 92 points to 6604 ▲1.4%

Shout-out to Atot for saving the Inside the Boardroom special [MB link] for their "lunch read" (at least it's not a porcelain chair?), to Trina Cerdenia for retweeting the ITB episode with highlights, to Tenkan Sen for noting the bloodbath that has been the recent (and even not-so-recent) IPO market, to Just'n for recognizing that in most cases a secondary IPO is for exit liquidity, to Enrico P. Villanueva for mentioning the ITB article as a jumping-off point for further research and analysis, to Jonathan Burac for providing interesting background on auditors and former-auditors as Independent Directors, to kalel.RON for having their mind blown by my reveal that I'm not Matteo Guidicelli (deep cut for the OGs), to Tirador for the straight-forward review ("pangit an ipo yan"), and to arkitrader for the Monday vibes GIF.
Thanks also to the many readers who wrote in privately with praise, follow-up questions, and comments about yesterday's Inside the Boardroom special episode with OceanaGold PH's President, Joan Adaci-Cattiling. I won't list your names because you didn't choose to make your comments public, but I appreciate all of the notes that I've received and it's encouraging to see the interesting in the ITB series. Thank you!
Just for background, the Inside the Boardroom series takes a lot of extra work to organize, conduct the interview, and write the content for each episode. MB does not receive anything in return for an Inside the Boardroom interview; I only ask for direct access to the c-suite executive and the understanding that all questions that I ask will be direct (not trying to avoid unfavorable parts), to-the-point (not flowery), and without honorifics or deference (no titles or fawning).
I have a great amount of respect for companies and executives that agree to those terms, as there are many companies here that would never in a million years allow their executives to speak publicly, let alone on topics that are not 100% positive and dripping with marketing talking points.
OK, enough of that, let's get to the new stuff!

▌Main stories covered:

  • [COMING_UP] The week ahead... PH: While we had the OceanaGold PH [OGP 12.50 ▼6.2%; 100% avgVol] IPO yesterday, the biggest waves will be made on Thursday when the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) meets to evaluate our interest rate situation. The Union Bank [UBP 34.60 ▼6.0%; 83% avgVol] stock rights offer period will also start on Thursday. International: The only datapoint that I’m following for this week is the US April inflation report, which we should get early Thursday morning.
    • MB: The inflation metagame is where my mind’s at these days, and that’s all about inflation expectations. Not so much where inflation “is”, but where people (and companies) think inflation “will be” in the future. Inflation expectations matter because they can cause dramatic changes. For individuals, expectations of higher inflation can lead to changes in purchasing behavior and higher wage demands. For corporations, expectations of higher inflation can cause companies to increase their prices. I think you can see why the US Federal Reserve and the BSP are most afraid of these expectations; they’re something of a self-fulfilling prophecy. There should be a lot of analysis to consume on this point after the US CPI report is out on Thursday morning.
  • [UPDATE] OceanaGold falls 6% in first day of trading... OceanaGold PH [OGP 12.50 ▼6.2%; 100% avgVol] [link] dropped a little over 6% in its first day of trading, falling ₱0.82 from its ₱13.33/share IPO price to close at ₱12.50/share. The highest the stock traded was ₱13.34 in the first 20 minutes of trading before consistent selling pressure pushed OGP price to an intra-day low of ₱12.46 around 1:30 PM. The stock mounted a significant recovery to around ₱12.90/share before a massive amount of late-day selling pushed it back down to the ₱12.50 level at the close.
    • MB: Since this is the first IPO of the year, the questions in my inbox tell me that we need to quickly cover a few points before we move forward. First, yes, OGP does have a stabilization fund, but it’s important to remember that a stabilization fund isn’t supposed to entirely prevent a stock’s price from falling. A stab fund is best thought of as a discretionary pool of money that a paid agent (in this case, BDO Capital) can use to buy shares on the open market to provide some artificial demand for the stock. It has a limited amount of money (usually around 10% of the value of the total IPO) and a limited amount of time (30 days), and once either of those is gone, so is the fund. The other thing to remember about stab funds is that it’s entirely up to the agent to deploy the limited resources of the fund. They might be hands-off for days before suddenly smashing the market with a swarm of buy orders to soak up the selling pressure, or they might constantly drip artificial buy orders into the market. Or they might employ a chaotic mixture of those strategies. Stability funds are a little bit of short-term downside protection and a handy pool of exit liquidity, but they shouldn’t be seen as IPO Investing insurance or a protection against loss! Be careful out there!
  • [DIVS] CREIT, MREIT, and FILRT all declare Q1 dividends... Citicore Energy REIT [CREIT 2.83 ▲0.3%; 345% avgVol] [link] and MREIT [MREIT 12.96 ▲0.1%; 96% avgVol] [link] declared their Q1 dividends on Monday, while Filinvest REIT [FILRT 2.93 ▼2.0%; 47% avgVol] [link] declared its Q1 dividend on Friday. For CREIT, the dividend will be ₱0.049/share (stable), payable on July 9, representing 101% of CREIT’s Q1 distributable income (DI). For MREIT, the dividend will be ₱0.246 (stable), payable on June 14, representing 93% of MREIT’s DI. For FILRT, the dividend will be ₱0.062/share (falling), payable on June 7, representing 99.9% of FILRT’s DI for the quarter.
    • MB: The name of the REIT game is stability. While REITs cannot help what happens in the macroeconomic world with interest rates (all REITs got smacked when rates rose to fight inflation), what separates a good REIT from a bad one (in my opinion) is the management team’s ability to effectively worry about everything else to protect the income stream from loss. Bonus points should be awarded to teams who grow their dividend over time. Between these three companies, both CREIT and MREIT have shown the ability to deliver a stable dividend. CREIT has even managed to grow its dividend 11%. That leaves FILRT, which has continued to deliver giant turd after giant turd to its bagholders in the form of smaller and smaller dividends. FIRLT’s first three quarterly divs were at the ₱0.112/share level, and their most recent div was just ₱0.062. That’s a 44.6% drop. I don’t have a thesaurus within reach capable of accurately describing to you just how bad that is for a REIT. It’s not like the company suffered some major trauma that nearly halved the dividend; the div level has fallen four times over the past twelve quarters and in each of the last three.
  • [NEWS] FMEFT halted due to broken price tracker... FMETF [FMETF 105.20 ▲0.9%; 5% avgVol] [link], the PSE’s only exchange-traded fund, was halted by the PSE at 1 PM yesterday after it was discovered that its iNav had failed to update since 11:30 AM. FMETF said that it would “coordinate” with its “service provider” to implement a fix, but as of this writing, FMETF has not advised that a fix has been implemented nor has the PSE lifted the halt.
    • MB: This problem happened six times last year, and while it’s great that we made it into May before we had our first FMETF outage of this year, it’s still discouraging to see “iNav not calculating” as a problem that we need to contend with in 2024. For those who are unfamiliar, FMETF is an exchange-traded fund, so FMEFT’s per-share price is derivative of the per-share prices of all the shares that FMETF owns/represents. The “iNav” that keeps breaking is the number that represents the current value of FMETF’s holdings, expressed as a “NAV per unit” or “NAV per share”. So, if the iNav isn’t updating, then traders are not getting the kind of information they need to place FMETF stock trades. “We need more ETFs” is something that I’ve heard traders say for years now, and while I still count myself as part of that group, I wish we could see some forward progress in the maintenance of FMETF before we introduce anything more exotic to the market.

2024.05.14 01:01 Greedy_Visual6710 I truly do not like my BCBA

Every time I know she has to supervise which is everyday that I have session. She repeats the same stuff over and over it gets me so annoyed. Having to talk to a supervisor reach time I have session, taking notes and paying attention to the kid is hard. Especially doing it everyday. I’m annoyed asf, I’ve been thinking of leaving the case because of her but my kid has started to make progress so I don’t wanna do that.
Another notes: I think it should be mandatory for BCBAs to become BT before so they can get a feel so what it is to do this job🤦🏾‍♀️

2024.05.14 00:55 BadLuckMath Creating my ideal champion pool

I've decided to fully commit myself to League of Legends. As a result, I've been investing a lot of time into understanding my mistakes and striving to improve both as a player and as a person, particularly in avoiding tilt. Over the past few months, I've made significant progress, culminating in reaching the Diamond rank for the first time. However, I'm determined to push further.
One of the major obstacles I face is my champion pool. While I have a main champion with a solid 61% win rate across 118 games, sometimes I feel the urge to diversify and try out different champions, inevitably resulting in negative win rates.
I'm seeking your assistance in creating my champion pool.
For context, my main champion is Garen, boasting a 61% win rate. What I appreciate most about Garen is his forgiving nature; I can afford to make mistakes during the laning phase and leverage his passive. Additionally, he excels as a split pusher, allowing me to capitalize on leads by pressuring multiple lanes. Furthermore, his ability to swiftly eliminate fed midlaners or ADCs with Flash + Q + E + R makes him invaluable in teamfights, even when my team is behind.
Some other champions I enjoy playing include Gwen, Mordekaiser, and Renekton. However, I'm unsure if these champions complement my playstyle or possess the potential to carry games solo.
I'm eager to discover which champions share similarities with this playstyle.
Note: While Ornn is one of my favorite champions, I've come to realize that playing tanks in solo queue may not be optimal.

2024.05.14 00:53 shy_bunny_ Optimal Page Dimensions for Thumbnail and Notetaking?

I am making my own page templates based off the Campus brand of notebooks and I'm trying to find what dimensions are best for notability. I have an iPad air 4th gen and I want it so that when the preview images for each notebook come up you see the entire cover page, not just it cut off somewhere, as well as optimal writing when taking notes. Does anyone know this? I couldn't find it anywhere.
I've tried both standard 8.5 x 11 and A4 size, but both result in the cut off of the thumbnail page.

2024.05.14 00:46 Cuenc13 No progress as a natty?

Hi everyone, i've been going to the gym for the past 14 months, mostly to spend my time and to keep my self mentally sane.
I'm a muscular guy (188cm height) I would say compared to other people going to the gym and I would like some advice on why am I not making progress like I am stuck at 16 kilos of biceps seated, for the past year and I cannot proceed to being able to lift 18 or 20kgs for biceps (not hammer curls, inclined biceps). As a side note, I have completely stopped eating junk food and pre-processed stuff.
Do you guys think there is a certain threshold that no matter how well you eat or how much you train you cannot naturally surpass it as in my case with the 16kg biceps? Am i wasting my time by trying to move to 18 kg or more? How would you approach this situation if you wanted to be able to lift 18kgs or even more?
Thanks

Account Breached (posting this as requested by my dad because his got deleted) [see body text and images]
"Pretty interesting. This is literally the first time I ever posted a post in reddit so please excuse me. FYSA. No idea if this is related to this post I just saw 30min ago: https://www.reddit.com/pokemongo/comments/1covmv1/how_true_is_this_leak/
Context: Me and my spouse started playing PoGo 2 weeks ago, I played for a single day back in 2016, and had access to the same account.
On 11MAY2024 around 1100 CST, I tried logging onto PoGo and received screen that my account was permanently banned out of nowhere [Lets name this Account_1@gmail.com]. I have not used any sort of cheat, I only play this game with my wife whenever we go on a trail or grocery shopping. Rather, I paid $10-ish to change my gym (?) to be the same as my wife's so we can raid together. I didn't know how raid worked so I initially had a different team. It would be silly for me to pay real money in-game and also use cheat, imo. Subsequently, I received an email that my account has been submitted for deletion. At this point, I thought this was an automatic process after my account was banned.
I was initially upset that I was randomly banned, requested Niantic what ToS I violated, if there were any. Received what seems like a template response that answered nothing.
2 days ago, I made a new PoGo account [Account_2@gmail.com] while hoping my first account would be unbanned. This morning (13MAY2024) around 1030 CST, all my Pokemons are transferred into candies. I didn't have any rare pokemon so that was not the issue, but the issue is that my account was breached, and at this point I made a connection that this could be the same reason my first account was banned, and that the deletion process may not be automatic.
The twist, I work for a 3-lettered organization specializing in cyber. Brought this matter to couple of my colleagues and came up with few theories and additional questions. Here's the note below.
Account_1@gmail.com
"Permanently Banned"
Account deleted. See attached image.
Account_2@gmail.com
All Pokemon Transferred
Account accessed?
Both have different passwords.
Account_1 has 2-factor authentication, Account_2 does not. Did this result in the differing actions? (Deletion vs Transferred pokemons/Different actors?)
Both account's gmail received notification "Pokemon GO was granted access to your Google account" from "IPhone" in "Texas" prior to activity. (Account_1 = 1 day prior, Account_2 = 15min prior to log-in)
Account Deletion request requires Niantic sending an email with a "Code" to reply back with. The said code is STATIC. Amazingly, it does not change regardless of who submits it. Its the same code for everyone.
Theoretically, a spoofed email address sending the code to Niantic will complete the delete process. Second, the *Username does not matter in the Account Deletion form. I can literally name it anything. Cannot test as this is beyond jurisdiction.
Question still to be answered:
How was the email account leaked? Was it leaked/breached?
Why was Pokemon Go specifically targeted (If credentials were compromised, why was this the "first" target out of say, my banking apps?). Either the actor is trying to get my attention (unlikely as there's no benefit, or the actor is only capable of attacking through PoGo app)
Account_2@gmail.com's PoGo is assumed to be breached completely if Pokemon was "transferred"
I can try to sniff the network traffic from the app to see if credentials are being sent in cleartext, but I'm starting to lose interest and am considering just deleting the app. I attempted to notify Niantic but amazingly just received the same template response when my account was banned.
Maybe this info will help someone else, possibly research further but it'll be in the backburner."

2024.05.14 00:28 SpacedWasTaken Perk Idea: DELPHI

--QUEST TO GET THE DELPHI PERK: "Splintered Past"--
Prerequisites:
Step 1: Starting the quest:
Step 2: Echoes of the Past
"You found this mysterious crate while getting supplies for the evacuation. Opening it reveals a strange piece of technology that reminds you of your Savant's Scanner, with various additions. Maybe you can repair this antiquated piece of tech?"
Completing the objective triggers an audio log:
"Data log retrived, starting now: Hello, this is Audio Log 1 of Project Overwatch, I am head researcher Stein along with AGENT 8Ball who is currently field testing my technology, we have currently finished testing the KALEIDOSCOPE Sensors along with the PEACEBREAKER Cuffs and proceeding with Phase Two of Project Overwatch, 8Ball how does the tech feel? To be honest Doc, It's just like my Savant's Scanner, just with some lethal touches to it. Alright, thanks for the input 8Ball, that's all for today. This is Head Researcher Stein, signing off."
Step 2: Splintered Bones
"Pre-Collapse tech based on the Savant's Scanner? Interesting. It's been repaired, although key components have yet to be found. The Scavengers are coming, you can hear them outside. A few more nights and you can be out of this hellhole."
Completing the objective triggers an audio log:
"Data log retrieved, starting now: This is Head Researcher Stein again, Audio Log 15. 8Ball isn't present today, complained of some weird bug bite he got, which is strange since Eden doesn't have any insects. Anyways we managed to get testing completed on the PHYSICS Override Braces which effectively completes the Prototype model of the tech. On a personal side note, there has been more & more AGENTs deployed to deal with crowd control, apparently some scuffles and riots has been breaking out on Eden. I'm a little worried but it shouldn't be too bad, right? This is Head Researcher Stein, signing off."
Step 3: Shadows of Sorrow
"As you and your teammates head towards the Evacuation shuttle something is different. You can feel the piercing eyes of something staring at you from the storm..."
At the last step of the Quest, the Raiders are replaced with Reikgon Cultists and you cannot leave until 8Ball, a Reikgon-converted AGENT is defeated. 8Ball has 1500 health and a 25% damage resistance, CQC training (Can dodge attacks) and will rush you with his melee attacks, so distance is important. Once he is defeated and the AGENTs evacuated, you are given the last audio log and the DELPHI perk
"Data log retrieved, starting now: This is probably my last audio log. For the record EDEN-227 should be considered lost. DO NOT SEND PEOPLE BACK HERE. All the AGENTs are dead, I'm the last one alive in this place. My friend 8Ball has changed an- LOG CORRUPTED"

2024.05.14 00:22 cait0620 Pediatric Allergist

Hello! I’ve searched the sub but don’t see any recent posts that specifically address this topic, so wanted to get some feedback from the community on pediatric allergists in Austin. One of my children has significant food allergies that we manage in consert with allergy and dermatology. I have some significant issues with the way our allergist approaches patient care (using blood testing and even skin testing as diagnostic, which is not the current gold standard) and how careless he and the office staff are (e.g. keeping inaccurate paper notes on conditions that include things my child doesn’t have).
Does anyone have a pediatric allergist they like? We are in Central Austin but willing to drive anywhere to find more progressive care. We’d love a practice that is open to food challenges as our child grows and likely outgrows at least some allergies.

2024.05.14 00:19 Average_Boi_4879 Signalis OC description

Sicherheit Wartung Sortierung Replika (Security- Maintenance- Triage- Replica) S.W.S.R. Replika Gender: Male Generation: Gen 3 E-R-R Security Unit
Replika Frame: Lightweight Carbon Fibre Frame with minimal Biomechanical features (just the face and inside of torso), support built from stainless steel and has titanium reinforcement at the joints. SWSR units have dark brown hair that normally is unkempt or put in a very basic design with minimal effort attached, with standard blue eyes. They also sport a detachable body armor to improve the overall weight and speed of the unit along with helping keep them from personality degradation.
Height: 180.34 cm
Description: The Replika is used for first response when an emergency or breach in security occurs. As such they are designed to be faster and more lightweight than other Protektor units, albeit they are highly expendable.
Despite this, they seem to hold a very strong urge to stay alive. This also plays into their hierarchy amongst their own; as older or more grizzled units hold more dominance than newer or more inexperienced units. However in rare instances this can apply to the general hierarchy of a facility, though these cases are few and far between. They also have a tendency to individualise themselves by giving themselves a name, applying modifications, or settling on a distinct way of acting.
Due to the template having went from one job to the next, they also have a variety of skills that can help with the aftermath of a situation. “First to respond, last to die”
Known issues and handling: SWSR units due to the nature of their template have more resistance to personality degradation. While they aren’t completely immune to the issue, it is still highly recommended to keep them in a state to minimise the risk of personality degradation starting.
They generally get along well with most Gestalts and Replikas, though can get irritated or attack when they are nagged or harassed to a certain extent. Due to their unique nature of their programming, they work best in small groups (see Programming specifications) It is recommended to allow them access to things that can help them modify themselves to their own style. They also seem to latch onto personality traits from others and consumed media, so what entertainment they use their ration stamps should be kept under close watch. When a unit does realize that they are starting to degrade, they will normally try to exit the facility they are designated to and vanish somewhere that they cannot be found. If this occurs, sedate them by any means possible. Unfortunately, cases can arise where a unit when put under too much stress can snap without any prior cases of personality degradation.
The iconic example is the “Firebomb” incident; where a unit due to being pushed over the limit of what they can handle emotionally, was driven into a psychological breakdown and burned down 80% of the facility they were in. It also revealed a behaviour that became of note where when the Replika regained control of themselves, they fled the facility and have not been found since. Though that was a Gen 1 model, the point still stands that stopping them before they snap is a high priority.
The best way to keep them stable is to give them allowance to modify themselves (which also doubles as not needing to get a replacement as they generally can repair themselves) and some way to let them expend extra energy and negative emotions, usually a communal punching bag in their dorm works. Fetish items include: Music, a deck of cards, and some books (Music and books have to be checked as to what they are before they can be acquired)
Programming specifications: SWSR units are a test of adaptive models, meaning that it will decide the best course of action when a situation occurs. The best way to describe this is a basic A or B decision; it will choose the best option based on factors of what it can handle, the current situation, previous experiences that are similar, and other variables that may come into consideration. Now while most units do have a basic version of decision making, the adaptive software adds extra options and is more accurate.

2024.05.14 00:15 ciudadvenus Multiple fMRI brain scans reveals brain damages caused by Lions Mane

Going to the doctor doesn't helps much, so they don't see anything wrong in you, the ones that did an MRI brain scan it doesn't shows up anything wrong too, but there's a much more specific type of brain scan which is called fMRI and it revealed in already 11 people that has been affected by Lion's Mane that it caused brain malfunction in the pallidum, dorsal striatum, and temporal lobe areas of the brain.
THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT DISCOVERY in the progress of understanding what this extremely dangerous substance is doing on some people.

fMRI is different from a normal MRI scan, which shows the structure of the brain. An MRI scan allows doctors to examine a patient's organs, tissue, or bones, while an fMRI looks at the function of the brain.
Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is a type of MRI scan that shows which parts of the brain are active when a patient performs certain tasks. It uses a technique called blood oxygenation level dependent (BOLD) contrast to evaluate blood flow in the brain. BOLD contrast detects changes in blood flow to metabolically active neurons instead of neural electrical activity.
Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) measures the small changes in blood flow that occur with brain activity. It may be used to examine which parts of the brain are handling critical functions, evaluate the effects of stroke or other disease, or to guide brain treatment. fMRI may detect abnormalities within the brain that cannot be found with other imaging techniques.

Note: If you undergo an fMRI and it reveals damage as well, it is important to share your results with* u/ciudadvenus *to raise awareness about the dangers of this substance, also, your anonymity will be respected if you wish to.

2024.05.14 00:12 Prylos Improv over G7 on All of Me

I'd like to think I know how to play over most chord changes and outlining the chord tones always sounds sweet to my ears however I have just one issue.
When I improv over G7, and especially on the song "All of Me", the notes never sound as sweet using the chord tones of G7 and when starting the diminished scale from the dom7(F note) it doesn't seem to invoke as much tension as the same tones over (A7, E7). Playing over G7 just doesn't sound as musical or intentional to my ears compared to playing over the other chords.
Is this normal for the voice leading of this particular chord progression, or is because of how the octaves are laid out on a guitar?

Tethered - Ch 9 - Hallowe'en

Chapter 9 of work in progress
TW/CW: Angst, discussion of attempted suicide, implied character death, internalized homophobia, discussion of conversion treatment
Summary:
Crowley wakes up in a mental hospital with no memory of how he got there. Without his demonic powers, neither the doctors, nor the people who claim to be his family will believe he is who he says he is. With the evidence against him mounting, his only lifeline to the real world is a cryptic note left by an unseen messenger. The longer he stays in this hospital, the harder it becomes to recall for sure, is Crowley really a demon of Hell? Or has his entire existence been nothing more than a delusion conjured by a grieving mind?
Excerpt:
It had been more than twenty years since Crowley had watched his best friend walk out of his life. Many times since then, he would see a head of short blond curls and hold out hope that he'd see that beautiful, angelic face beneath it. Bowties and libraries and bandstands conjured up bittersweet memories of a bygone life.
But frequent exposure to certain stimuli dampens the physiological response, and eventually Crowley stopped noticing things like that. The boy he knew so well was gone, and by all accounts, he would not be coming back.
Which is why it was such a shock to walk into the pub one Hallowe’en and see a halo of curls and ridiculous bowtie, that unmistakable nose and the warmest eyes he had ever known. He almost walked back out the doors, but for one thing.

2024.05.13 23:47 SensitiveAudience370 I’m so insecure and I need help.

So long story short, I’m being bullied, and I’m super shy suffering from low self esteem and lack of self confidence, I BARLEY talk in school, and one of reasons (mainly) I get bullied is because I have ASD (autism spectrum disorder) it happens everyday it won’t stop.
I never speak to anyone because I’m too afraid. I think I’m inferior to everyone, almost everyone I can’t talk to is above me. The only times I talk is when I have to ask to use the bathroom/water fountain to the teachers, My voice is so quiet they have to stop teaching, walk over to my desk and bend down to hear me and raise their hand to their ear. They’ve gotten used to it as it’s been 3 years. (3 years in my school, not 3 years being shy, I’ve been like this since I was little.) I’m almost 15 years old.
I’ve told teachers about the bullying last year, they forgot. I told this year, they didn’t do anything at all.
I’ve told my friends, of course they won’t be able to do anything. I’ve told my mom, I guess she was concerned but didn’t think too much about it.
I have 2 autistic friends, I’ve asked my friends for help with social skills. They can’t teach me, they don’t know how, even said it themselves, I asked for help to them multiple times.
For the past 8 months, I’ve been trying to improve myself, growing self confidence, self esteem, social skills and more. Trying to not be afraid, mindfulness meditation, positive thinking/self talk, psychology notes, I’ve been doing a lot. I know how to initiate a conversation keep it going and blah blah blah, but I can’t do it IRL, yk why? Because I’m scared. I’ve prayed to Allah for help, it’s working, it’s progressing, I don’t want to say it won’t work because I trust Allah.
I’ve learned tips on how to be couragous and will power. But for some reason I’m just always too scared to do it. Too scared to speak, open my mouth, speak a normal volume voice, not speak softly and like a mouse.
A good thing is that when I have to read out loud, I speak loud and proud, with no worry? The whole room could hear me when I read out loud. A lot of people tell me on Reddit is that I could practice reading out loud more to make the shyness go away, but that’s not it. I only get scared when it’s about socializing. Practicing reading out loud more won’t help me. Trust me, I’ve tried it.
Edit: I know what courage is, courage is doing something despite the fear, I’m aware of that.

2024.05.13 23:32 haunted_balls [Online][Other][EDT][PBP][LGBTQPlus][D20 Go] Seeking replacement player(s) for Curse of Strahd

Hello everyone! I'm seeking 1-2 players to join a heavy roleplay play-by-post Curse of Strahd campaign in progress, replacing a player who is leaving the game.
We've been playing for five months, and the party is nearly level 4 and currently learning about the situation in Vallaki. They've completed the opening act in Barovia Village and received their fortunes from Madame Eva. The party makeup is a ranged archer ballerina and two brawny melee mages (one druid flavored, one wizard flavored).
This would be a great opportunity for someone to join who is already familiar with the start of the game, likely from a previous Curse of Strahd campaign that didn't finish. New characters should join the game with a backstory that has them already heavily motivated to defeat Strahd and motivated to cooperate with the party to do so. I don't want to fumble through a month of 'do I trust them?/do I really want to court this danger?', I'd rather jump right into the game!
Please note we are NOT using D&D 5e for this campaign. We're using my homebrew version of an existing system called D20 go, a narrative-first system that heavily de-emphasizes combat to facilitate the play-by-post format and put roleplay at the front and center. There are no spell slots, no combat resources, no damage dice. There are still rolls to determine the outcome of combat, but the action of combat is entirely narrative. If you prefer a crunchy game, this is not the CoS game for you.
Here's what I'm looking for:
Before applying, please read my original campaign recruitment post here: https://www.reddit.com/pbp/comments/1816woh/onlineotherasynclgbtqd20\_go\_seeking\_mature/
Apply here: https://forms.gle/Q7xs4unKVm1iLPrg8
The spot(s) are not first come, first serve. If the form is still open, I'm still accepting applications. If you applied to the original post in December but want to be considered again, you must re-apply; apologies for the inconvenience! I'll update this post when I've chosen my player(s), but I cannot respond individually to everyone.

( TSX: AOT; OTCQX: AOTVF ) (“ Ascot ” or the “ Company ”) is pleased to announce the Company’s unaudited financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2024 (“ Q1 2024 ”), and also to provide a construction update on the Company’s Premier Gold Project (“ PGP ” or the “ project ”), located on Nis
g
a’a Nation Treaty Lands in the prolific Golden Triangle of northwestern British Columbia. For details of the unaudited condensed interim consolidated financial statements and Management's Discussion and Analysis for the three months ended March 31, 2024, please see the Company’s filings on SEDAR+ (www.sedarplus.ca).
All amounts herein are reported in $000s of Canadian dollars (“ C$ ”) unless otherwise specified.
Q1 2024 AND RECENT HIGHLIGHTS
  • On May 7, 2024, the Company announced a $5,000 non-brokered flow through private placement (the “Offering”), the proceeds of which will be used to fund the 2024 exploration program at the PGP. The Offering will consist of 6,024,096 common shares of the Company, which qualify as "flow-through shares" within the meaning of the Income Tax Act (Canada) (the “FT Shares”), at a price of $0.83 per FT Share. The closing of the Offering is expected to occur in one or more tranches in or around late-May to mid-June 2024, and is subject to certain conditions including, but not limited to, the receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals, including the acceptance of the Toronto Stock Exchange.
  • Rock was introduced into the grinding circuit of the mill on March 31, 2024, and first gold-bearing ore was introduced to the mills on April 5, 2024. On April 20, 2024, first gold was poured as a part of the commissioning process. Commissioning of the processing plant at PGP is ongoing, with commercial production anticipated in Q3 2024. Two gold pours have been completed using gold recovered from the gravity circuit. Another pour from gold recovered from the carbon-in-leach (“CIL”) circuit is anticipated imminently.
  • On February 20, 2024, the Company closed its previously announced financing package for a total of US$50 million from Sprott Resource Streaming and Royalty Corp. and its affiliates (“SRSR”) and Nebari Credit Fund II, LP (“Nebari Credit Fund II”), as described in the Company’s news release dated January 22, 2024. $13,700 of the above proceeds were used to buy back two existing 5% NSR royalties on various PGP property claims on March 15, 2024.
  • On February 20, 2024, concurrently with the above-noted financing package, the Company closed its previously announced bought deal private placement financing, under which the Company issued a total of 65,343,000 common shares of the Company (the “Common Shares”) at a price of $0.44 per Common Share, for gross proceeds of $28,751.
  • At the end of Q1 2024, overall construction excluding mine development was 98% complete compared with 86% complete at the end of 2023. A few remaining commissioning activities in the mill are underway. The tailing storage facility was completed and signed off by the engineer of record at the end of March 2024.
  • The new water treatment plant began operations in February 2024. The high-density sludge plant has been successfully commissioned and water is being treated and discharged into the environment. The moving bed bio-reactor (“MBBR”) is complete and media have been loaded into the tanks.
  • As of April 30, 2024, underground development totaled approximately 2,710 metres at Big Missouri and 150 metres at Premier.
DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT
Project financing
On February 20, 2024, the Company closed a bought deal private placement for gross proceeds of $28,751 and a financing package of US$50 million for the completion and ramp-up of PGP. The financing package consisted of a royalty restructuring and a cost overrun facility.
Construction progress key performance indicators
At the end of Q1 2024, overall construction was 98% complete, compared with 86% complete at the end of Q4 2023. With first gold having been poured on April 20, 2024 via gold recovered through the gravity circuit, the project construction is 100% complete on schedule and on the most recently provided budget of approximately C$339 million. Commissioning and ramp-up activities in the processing plant and in the mine continue towards achieving commercial production in Q3 of 2024.
Safety
The Project had no lost time injuries in Q1 2024. There was an increase in recordable injuries at the end of the quarter which in part, can be attributable to seasonal changes and the transition from construction to operations. As the Project continues its transition from construction into operations, focus has been placed on the ongoing development of standard operating procedures, in field job hazard analysis and worker training. There was a small increase in property damage reported in the quarter due in part to weather conditions and the onboarding of a significant number of new workers to the site. The re-enforcement of reporting to the operating team remains a key focus to ensure that all learnings are identified and applied to prevent re-occurrence and reflect in the future training plans. In Q2 2024, significant work will be placed to support the operational teams to begin to operate the newly constructed plant through the final stages of C4 and C5 commissioning.
Processing plant and site infrastructure
Mechanical and electrical work in the mill was substantially completed in Q1 2024 with minor associated systems and punch list items to complete. Focus has shifted to commissioning the process plant and ramp up as well as completing minor deficiencies.
Stage one of the tailings storage facility (“TSF”) raise was completed and accepted by the Engineer of Record for use. Earthworks activities in 2024 will focus on raising the spillway dam by three metres, producing material for the 2025 raise and advanced work on the Cascade Creek Diversion in preparation for the 2025 works and final completion of the diversion.
The new water treatment plant was substantially mechanically and electrically completed in Q4 2023 with some minor areas remaining. The high-density sludge circuit was commissioned in Q1 2024 and is advancing towards full ramp up. The MBBR circuit was substantially complete in Q1 2024 and will begin full commissioning as the process plant continues to deposit tailings into the TSF and feed nitrogen species into the MBBR circuit.
The site power reticulation was completed in Q1 2024. Sustaining capital works in 2024 will focus on reticulation to the Premier portal as well as the Big Missouri portal.
Mine development
Procon Mining & Tunnelling (“Procon”) a mine contractor with extensive experience in BC and the Golden Triangle continued to advance mine development at two portal areas: S1 about 9 kilometres north of the mill which accesses the Big Missouri and Silver Coin deposits, and the mill adjacent Premier Northern Light (“PNL”) portal which accesses the Premier and Northern Light orebodies. As of the end of Q1 2024, Procon had about 57 people on site, 40 of whom were miners and 10 were maintenance personnel.
At Big Missouri, Procon advanced development into several ore headings in the A zone, as well as reactivating the S1 ramp heading that goes to Silver Coin deposit. In Q1 Procon developed 936 metres at Big Missouri (258 metres in ore and 678 metres in waste, and by April 29, 2024, development advanced to 905 metres in waste and 507 metres in ore total in 2024. Including the development completed in late 2022 and late 2023, the total development to date is approximately 2,710 metres in both ore and waste. Productivities at Big Missouri have continued to improve, with availability of key equipment such as Maclean bolters being made a priority.
During Q1 2024, the geological team continued to encounter high grade material occurrences in both face sampling and probe hole drilling in multiple areas of the A zone. As previously reported, these occurrences are in or very near existing wireframes or logical extensions of wireframes. At the end of March 31, 2024, a total of approximately 30,000 tonnes of ore was mined from Big Missouri and stockpiled at Diego pit.
At PNL, Procon dealt with issues related to near surface structure and weak ground. These issues seem to have abated at the end of April, and Procon has started to make better progress as they move into the better ground conditions expected at Premier given what was seen historically. In Q1 2024 approximately 85 metres were advanced at PNL, and at the end of April this increased to approximately 150 metres as ground conditions improved.
Mining development is being advanced down into the Premier deposit for initial mining in the Prew Zone, with ore development now anticipated to begin in early Q3 2024, and initial longhole stope production following later in Q3 2024. The ramp has been strategically laid out to allow for underground drilling on the Sebakwe Zone in 2024 and will eventually connect a footwall ramp over to the 602 area at the southern end of the Premier deposit. Although progress has been slow, the quality of the resultant work with ground control and shotcrete arches has been excellent, allowing for a secure and stable ramp for the life-of-mine production to come from this area approximately 350 metres from the Premier Mill.
Recruitment
At the end of Q1 2024, total site recruitment has reached approximately 90% of the planned operational team. A key achievement was the successful recruitment for some challenging roles pertaining particularly to some of the maintenance roles, health and safety (specifically, mine rescue), and technical roles for the mine and processing area. Policies and procedures development have been ongoing throughout Q1 2024 and key documents will be rolled out in Q2 2024.
Permitting and Environmental Compliance
A Joint Permit Amendment Application (“JPAA”) was required to be re-aligned with the project completion dates and was submitted in October 2023. The JPAA underwent first round comments through February 2024 and second round comments were received in late April 2024, with our responses anticipated to be submitted in May 2024.
The air permit was received on March 25, 2024. The updated environmental permit PE-8044, including the sewage treatment facility discharge permit is anticipated to be received in late May 2024.
2024 EXPLORATION PROGRAM
Planning for the 2024 exploration program is in full swing with an anticipated start date in late June. There are several areas on the properties that will be targeted by new drilling. Near the Premier mill, several drill holes have been planned around the Prew and Sebakwe zones of the Premier deposit. The new holes will complement the existing drill pattern at Prew and test induced polarization geophysical anomalies from last year’s survey.
Additional drill holes have been planned for the Big Missouri deposit where underground development is rapidly providing access to different parts of the deposit. The new holes will be designed for resource conversion and mine plan addition at this deposit. Specific new drill targets have been identified at the Day Zone on the western edge of the deposit, where geophysical anomalies seem to outline previously untested mineralization along strike of known ore zones.
Additional exploration drill holes are targeting a large geophysical anomaly to the west of the Dilworth deposit that extends surface showings to the north onto Ascot’s PGP property. This target has a large strike extent and may require drilling over more than one exploration season.
The Company anticipates a drill program of between 15,000 and 20,000 metres distributed over the areas described above. The program will require utilization of two drill rigs into late September or early October 2024.
FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE THREE MONTHS ENDED MARCH 31, 2024
The Company reported a net loss of $6,208 for Q1 2024 compared to $7,589 for Q1 2023. The lower net loss for the current period is primarily attributable to a $2,170 decrease in the loss on extinguishment of debt and a $1,196 decrease in financing costs, partially offset by increases in other expense categories.
LIQUIDITY AND CAPITAL RESOURCES
As at March 31, 2024, the Company had cash & cash equivalents of $47,028 and working capital deficiency of $33,030. The working capital deficiency is caused by an estimated $23,024 as the current portion of the deferred revenue only to be settled with future production from the Project and the $25,180 value of the Convertible facility, which is classified as current due to the lender’s right to exercise the conversion option at any time at a variable exercise price. Excluding these non-cash current liabilities, working capital was $15,174. In Q1 2024, the Company issued 67,807,135 common shares, 10,164,528 warrants, and granted 110,000 stock options and 28,667 Deferred Share Units. Also, 100,766 stock options expired or were forfeited, 24,427 Restricted Share Units were forfeited, and 99,039 stock options, 137,533 Deferred Share Units and 158,726 Restricted Share Units were exercised in Q1 2024.
MANAGEMENT’S OUTLOOK FOR 2024
In 2024, the Company will transition from the construction of the mine and related infrastructure to the operation of the entire site and becoming a gold producer. Despite the challenges associated with this transition, there are many opportunities for the Company to grow and create value.
The key activities and priorities for 2024 include:
  • Making health and safety a priority in the commencement of operations
  • Completing the commissioning of the process plant
  • Completing the access ramp and starting the mine production at the Premier deposit
  • Continuing to expand the mine production and development at the Big Missouri deposit
  • Shipping and selling of gold doré
  • Advancing the exploration and infill drilling program on the numerous opportunities to increase resources
  • Compliance with the environmental requirements of the site and making sure water treatment and the tailings management facility operate as designed
  • Successfully transition from a mine developer to a mine operator

2024.05.13 23:19 ma09987 confused on this heavy sensation that just occurred

ok so the weirdest thing just happened to me. I’m not posting this because I think it’s not normal, or I need reassurance but I’m solely posting this because I GENUINELY want to see if anybody else has felt this or knows how it even happens. so obviously posting here, because I have anxiety, and for just a little background, I have emetophobia (fear of sick). so my phobia is still prevalent, i’m getting therapy for it but as far as my actual anxiety, I have not been getting panic or anxiety attacks like I used to, and they stopped. Now I’m just kind of getting general anxiety, sometimes it feels like it lingers but getting anxious and that leading to an actual attack has NOT happened for a year now. (I sometimes get waves of nausea, but it’s from indigestion and nerves lol).. so basically, I was just drawing in my living room, had a video on, and then I remember I had to go downstairs to tell a relative something. so I take my headphones off, pause the video and make my way downstairs. I arrive in the basement and I’m just standing up to tell somebody something, when all of a sudden I get this extremely weird feeling in my head. this may be extremely hard to explain so bear with me. You know that feeling when you’re low on iron, and you get up and you kind of see stars a little and you get that really really intense dizzy feeling? i’m sure you know what I’m talking about, I felt that, but it progressed extremely quickly, and it turned into the feeling you get right before you vomit. The same type of dizzy, feeling, feeling like you’re going to faint but it’s like this intense PRESSURE in your head, like it’s all happening at once. I also remember repeating “im gonna vomit it’s gonna happen” so i’m PRETTY sure impending doom had to do with it. It was also that doom-like feeling before you throw up, but it could’ve been the panic. Anyway, just clearly a crazy sensation. It’s really hard to explain but I’m sure somebody knows what I’m talking about. this literally hit me like a truck and came out of absolutely NOWHERE. It felt way more in my head, like physical. so of course I start feeling like i’m gonna throw up, which most definitely correlates to the phobia. I kid you not when I say it’s something I’ve never ever felt before, and I want to know if this was real panic. I also want to note that I am a little low on iron, so basically it was like that low iron sensation just kind of hit me, but then it progressed into what I just explained. Basically. I’m just confused. The funny thing is, though, is it lasted a few seconds? And I actually laughed it off. It’s like nothing ever happened. It’s the weirdest thing I think ever happened to me and I wanna know if anybody else has ever felt this. can anxiety/stress/panic cause these weird incidents?
I definitely still feel off, like something just happened,

2024.05.13 23:18 AgentEves Mapping Actuals to Goals

Hi Everyone, I'm probably going to have a bunch of follow-up questions, so I appreciate everyone's help in advance, but for now, I'm going to try and keep it as simple as possible. I think I should be able to work out the other steps if I can just get past the first hurdle. Teach a fellow to fish, and all that.
Unfortunately, I can't upload sample data because the data is sensitive, so I'm going to use a made up example to help explain where necessary.
The End Goal: I am creating a metrics dashboard to display how well we are progressing towards our annual goals. I have one table with the metrics listed, along with the 2024 goal for each metric (numeric values). We'll call this the Metrics table. I also have two tables combined which contains all the data used to calculate the 'Actuals'. We'll call this the Data table. There are no fields that join the 'Metrics' table with the 'Data' table. I plan to create a dual-axis bar graph which shows Actuals vs Goals.
Since there are no matching fields between the Data table and the Metrics table, I plan to create a calculated field for each of the individual metrics, using data from the Data table. I will then create a calculated field named "Actuals" which will contain a series of IF statements based on the metric name. i.e., IF [Metrics].[Metric] = "Metric 1" THEN [Data].[Metric 1] ELSEIF [Metrics].[Metrics] = "Metric 2" THEN [Data].[Metric 2], and so on and so forth.
The issue I'm having is creating the calculated fields for each metric...
An Explanation of the Dataset: Let's say my data is about the delivery of fruit and vegetables. The two tables combined to make the 'Data' table are a 'Delivery Stats' table and a 'Metadata' table. The 'Delivery Stats' table lists the fruits and vegetables delivered, the date, the quantity delivered, the quantity that are rotten, and the % that are rotten. The 'Metadata' table lists every fruit and vegetable that we have ever ordered, and then lists the features of each fruit/vegetable. e.g., if it's a fruit or a vegetable, the colour, the country of origin, etc. Note: each fruit/vegetable is only listed once in the Metadata table, as the metadata is static.
The last piece of the puzzle is that I have a 'Metric Date' which is a calculated field. It shows the last available date from the previous month, based on the data available. So within my dataset, that date is March 29. The reason I am using a calculated field is so that the date can be dynamic based on the data available.
Where I'm Stuck: My first metric is 'Number of Red Fruit/Vegetables'. So I want to do a simple count of the number of rows where the Colour is listed as 'Red', but only on the Metric Date (i.e., March 29). And this is where I'm getting stumped.
I can create a table where I have Date and Colour in the rows, and then Total Fruit in the Marks, but what I need to do is create a calculated field that shows only the count of red fruits and only on the 'Metrics Date'.
What I've Done So Far: I created a binary calculated field called "Red" which uses IF logic to assign a 1 or a 0 to each row:
IIF([Colour]="Red",1,0)
I then created the 'Number of Red Fruit/Vegetables' calculated field which uses IF logic to SUM the "Red" column when the Date = the Metric Date:
IF [Date] = [Metrics Date] THEN [Red] END
But it's throwing out a number that's way higher than it should be. (It should be 224, but I'm getting 1,120). I can't work out what it's doing to get the higher count.
I think a large part of my struggle is because I'm still stuck in the Excel mindset of using a "COUNTIFS" function to get the total. I just can't for the life of me figure out how to do the same in Tableau.
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read all this and can offer some guidance.
TL;DR: How to I create a calculated field that spits out a single count of all the records where the data meets multiple criteria located across multiple fields?
