I was just gifted a leuchtturm sketchbook by my cousin (since the art store she works at gave it to her for free) and I've been enjoying using col-erase pencils very much but regular pencil just ends up looking light grey and even a bit shiny? the paper is very smooth, so that could be a part of it, but I've seen people get really dark lines on it, although it could just be the camera or something.
it could also be the pencil I'm using? I don't have any softer pencils or lead and the ones i'm using have harder lead and that could also be a part of it. Also so sorry, English isn't my native language!

History of Maithili Literature - Resources

Having previously shared resources on the history of Maithili literature (here), I am now going to compile a list of actual Maithili literary classics, both classical and modern. If you have any recommendations, please suggest them. ​

📌 Early Maithili Literature (circa 700–1350 AD):
This era witnessed the emergence of ballads, songs, and dohas. Among the earliest authors was Jyotirishwar Thakur. His notable contribution to Maithili literature is the Varṇa Ratnākara (1324), an encyclopedic work presented in prose.

George Abraham Grierson, an Irish linguist, and civil servant made a huge impact on the growth of Modern Maithili. His detailed research on Maithili folklore and grammar set the stage for its development today. Magazines and journals also played a big role in shaping Maithili during this time. Baldev Mishra, Surendra Jha 'Suman,' Radha Krishna Choudhary, Jaykant Mishra, Binod Bihari Verma, Dr. Dhirendra, Parichay Das, and Gajendra Thakur were key players in this linguistic journey.

Trackhouse Kaulig (1) Ross Chastain
Penske (2) Austin Cindric Reasoning: Tim Cindric is still involved with Penske, so why would Cindric leave? The only thing I could see possible is Cindric to the 21, but even that is unlikely, as Austin Cindric seems about 85% likely to come back next year.
RCR (3) Austin Dillon Reasoning: We don't know much about Austin Dillon. Supposedly, he was signed through 2025, but rumor has it that he may retire after this year to pursue the management side of RCR. If this happens, then Austin Hill would be the leading candidate to replace him, I'd assume, but otherwise, I think Austin Dillon will likely be back.
Stewart Front Row (4) Josh Berry Reasoning: Josh Berry could be in a number of rides next year. Let's start with the obvious: Stewart-Haas and Front Row have to be in talks for something. From what I've heard, SHR is either downsizing or merging with FRM. I'm going to go with the latter, as it makes sense with the timing of McDowell going to Spire. Meanwhile, if SHR downsizes, it sounds like Gragson and Preece would be the likely candidates for release, but the only driver safe is Briscoe, due to the team option (which actually means Briscoe may not be safe). That said, Berry could end up in the WBR #21 ride, or even in a ride like a third RFK car. Still, I'd bet on Berry staying in this car and FRM and SHR merging.

Stewart Front Row (10) Noah Gragson Reasoning: As much as Gragson may not be the best person on social media, Gragson has outperformed expectations by a lot this season. As such, it's interesting that Front Row and McDowell would part ways. We know that Gragson is in a study group with Berry and Briscoe (and now Preece, I suppose). That said, Gragson being part of the group is interesting, as is the fact that if Preece is dealt with, then FRM and SHR together have 4 drivers under contract. Interesting... Gragson could end up in the 34 if FRM doesn't merge with SHR, the 19 if Bass Pro Shops can recommend Gragson to JGR and if Truex, Jr. retires, and the 21 if that ride is open, and those are just a few possibities. Gragson's performance this year is making what happens here paramount to resolving Silly Season.

RWR (15) Riley Herbst Reasoning: Herbst is ready for Cup. Additionally, Herbst has sponsorship and has seemingly matured to where he could be a huge boon to a growing team. It's possible Herbst stays in Xfinity, but that wouldn't make sense. He could, though, go to a SFR car if SHR and FRM merge - I could see him replacing Berry or Gragson. RWR could continue to use multiple drivers, but they seem to be moving in the direction of being taken seriously, so I'd expect they'll name a full-time driver here. I could see Kaz Grala being the full-time driver, I could see Cody Ware being the full-time driver, and I could even see a small peephole where Hailey Deegan has a chance at some starts in this ride. It's definitely up in the air.
Trackhouse Kaulig (16) Shane van Gisbergen Reasoning: If Kaulig and Trackhouse merge, they would have, to our knowledge, 5 drivers under contract - Zilich, though, can wait. With that said, if Trackhouse/Kaulig keep van Gisbergen, Chastain, Suarez, and Zane Smith, then SVG is likely to go to this car since he's running the 16 part-time this year. Even on the off-chance that the two teams merge and chose to let a driver go, it's far more likely that Trackhouse would let Suarez go than it is that they let SVG, who won under the Trackhouse label in his first start, go.
RFK (17) Chris Buescher
JGR (19) Corey Heim Reasoning: Corey Heim is a top Toyota prospect, and Martin Truex, Jr. may be retiring. If Truex doesn't retire, I'd put Heim in the 50 - I think Heim is #1 and Chandler Smith is #2 in terms of Toyota prospects. Heim is ready based on his runs at Dover and Kansas. That said, there's a non-zero chance Gragson or some other prospect from Ford hemmoraghing their talent could end up here - last year, I was convinced that Harrison Burton could end up here (I wouldn't rule that out - Harrison Burton did races for JGR in the Xfinity series at one point).
JGR (20) Christopher Bell Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays.
WBR (21) Ryan Preece Reasoning: Harrison Burton is unlikely to come back, via multiple sources. The options I'd assume exist are probably something like this: Noah Gragson, Josh Berry, Ryan Preece, Todd Gilliland, Riley Herbst, Chase Briscoe, Austin Cindric, and in bizzaro-world, Justin Haley. One of those will pan out - in this Silly Season, I'm thinking Ryan Preece's blue-collar attitude would shine with the Wood Brothers. Plus, Preece is the odd man out, but has enough talent to avoid dropping out of Cup if Ford Motorcraft/Quick Lane is willing to take him on.

23XI (23) Bubba Wallace Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays.
Hendrick (24) William Byron
Trackhouse Kaulig (31) Zane Smith Reasoning: Zane Smith will be in a Trackhouse car next year one way or another, per the planned contractual agreement. Really, it's whether Trackhosue gets a charter or not that's the question. If they do, Zane Smith is priority #1 for Trackhouse to get into their car. If Trackhouse and Kaulig don't merge, then I'd bet on Trackhouse putting Zane in Kaulig's car, but more likely is that Trackhouse will buy Zane Smith a charter from Kaulig or swallow Kaulig entirely.
Stewart Front Row (38) Todd Gilliland Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays, especially since he didn't leave after last year's "Zane Smith races". If he were to leave, he'd probably end up in the 21 for the Wood Brothers or end up at Legacy Motor Club or Joe Gibbs due to his Toyota connections (TRICON). Besides, his performance is continuing to go up, and McDowell is gone now, so it makes sense for Gilliland to stay here.
LMC (42) John Hunter Nemechek Reasoning: If Truex retires, Nemechek will either be in this car or in the #19 for JGR. Either way, nothing really to report here - Nemechek has performed well some weeks and I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car.
LMC (43) Erik Jones Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays.
23XI (45) Tyler Reddick Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays.

RWR (51) Kaz Grala Reasoning: I haven't heard of Kaz Grala going anywhere else - he will likely be in either the #15 or the #51 for RWR next year at least part-time. I do think there's a sleeper chance, though, that he goes to RFK because he's a talented, young Ford driver and RFK wants to expand.
JGR (54) Ty Gibbs Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays. Plus, he's Joe Gibbs's grandson.
RFK (60) (was 34) Justin Haley Reasoning: Justin Haley to RFK sounds wild when you consider Haley is under contract with RWR through next year. That said, RFK and RWR are in an alliance, and if Keselowski expands before he retires, then the timeline could change drastically, especially after BK's win at Darlington in the spring of 2024. Haley clearly wouldn't move to RFK without some sort of reasoning - this could definitely be a sleeper move to happen. I'd also not rule out Gragson or Kaz Grala or Ryan Preece for this ride, though, if RWR keeps Haley.
23XI (67) (was 41) Chandler Smith Reasoning: 23XI wants a third charter. Chandler Smith is probably the next ready driver in the Toyota pipeline unless 23XI wants Heim/JGR wants Heim. Either way, one of those two will likely run in the 67 next year if 23XI secures a charter. (In order, I'd say Trackhouse, 23XI, RFK, and Front Row are the most likely teams to expand)

Kaulig Trackhouse (99) Daniel Suarez Reasoning: Kaulig and Trackhouse merging and Daniel Suarez's contract situations seem to be separate issues. Suarez could easily end up leaving this team - especially if JGR and Suarez make up and Suarez gets the 19 back. I doubt it, though. Suarez won Atlanta and has 2 wins in 3 years, which honestly isn't bad when you consider we're in a win-and-you're-in format. I do think Suarez's seat is warm, but all indications are that the contract talks are going well. I don't think anything will be signed, though, until the Kaulig/Trackhouse potential merger situation is resolved. That said, if Suarez goes, I'd watch for Gragson, Austin Hill, or
NON-CHARTERED TEAMS TMT (50) Conor Daly - Look at me like I'm dumb all you want, but on the TMT Racing website, it says they want to be full-time by 2025. Who knows, TMT could buy a charter, but based on TMT themselves, there's a chance they're full-time without a charter next year. That said, it definitely could be damn near anyone driving this #50 car next year - let me be clear, though, I only think this is a 50/50 shot.
OTHER TEAMS I'D NOT BE SURPRISED TO SEE WITH CHARTERS RCR (33) - if this happened, they'd likely put Austin Hill in the car. FRM - if this happened, they'd probably just buy an SHR charter and renumber it 36. JRM - it's now or never, Dale Jr. Andretti - Andretti says they're more likely to buy into a team than to straight up buy a charter, but what if they decide to take their Gainbridge money elsewhere? What if Honda comes to Cup?

IMovie Project
Any advice on how we might restore an iMovie project. Scenario... My daughter and classmate filmed several video clips using the camera app, imported the clips into iMovie, edited, viewed the final completed project and attempted to export to photos. Next step woud have been to upload the final movie file from photos to Google Classroom. iPad gave back error that the iPad was out of storage. Assuming the movie project now contained the video clips, was edited and viewable, my daughter deleted the video clips from photos and then deleted the recently deleted folder to free up enough space so that she could complete the iMovie export and then Upload to Google Classroom. Now the iMovie project will not load, is no longer playable, the original video files are deleted and we're freaking out.

The original thread in manga is a post titled "Tsumiki Ogami & the Strange Everyday Life. - Volume 1 Cover", and it's an image of the cover art for the new series' volume 1 edition (Japanese manga chapters get compiled into physical volumes so you can read 7-8 chapters at a time in one book).
Now, I wrote in the title that the drama involves a power mod, and personally, I don't know how many subs someone can mod for before they're considered a power mod, but the redditors in this conversation mod 150+ subreddits for reference, so I consider that power mod status. One of these power mods in particular will create a new subreddit for every new Weekly Shonen Jump manga series, precisely so they can be the top mod for the subreddit and dictate how the rules go there. It should also be noted that this power mod creates a discord server for these series as well, and advertises it in the series' subreddits.
With that out of the way, the drama spawns shortly after a regular comment about the art for the volume: (regular redditors will be abbrev. as C1, C2, while power mod accounts will be Pmod1, Pmod2)

C1: BIG OL' STOMPERS. Pmod1: OgamiTsumiki gonna have a field trip with this today Pmod2[OP]: go away [links to a comment in another thread which states: "Don't listen to [Pmod1]. It's the same guy who'll shill his new subreddit for any new manga that appears."] Pmod1: Why do you hate me punpun, I thought we were besties :( C2: Spiderman pointing at Spiderman C3: battle of the power mods: who can be mods for more manga subreddits

Even though the spiderman comment was in reply to Pmod2, Pmod1 reads it and decides to respond to C2:

I have been seeking treatment for and recovering from multiple disabilities and while I was doing so a relative offered to take care of 2 extremely sentimental plants. These are heartleaf philodendrons that belonged to my late great grandmother, then my great grandfather, then passed down to myself. This relative was good with her own plants and i took care of her plants on occasion, so I thought nothing of entrusting my babies to her. Come to find out, she did not take the same care with raising my plants as she did her own, and the original plants themselves died at the base.
I suppose I'm rambling on a bit here but it lost its beautiful long vines, its old and strong base; every leaf my late loved one touched and tended to up until his passing was black or molded and had to be removed. I wish this never happened but now that it has, I need to figure out how to pick up the pieces. Any advice on how to move forward in my effort to bring this plant back is appreciated.
I clipped off a few scraggly vines that seemed mold-free (will vines that are a bit thin still propagate? God, i hope so), and am hoping to help them root, but I have never rooted philodendron before. The plants are definitely philodendron. Not pothos which I have plenty of experience with, unfortunately; or I would know how to help the poor thing.
I am frankly at a loss and overwhelmed with trying to find the best methods to make sure I don't lose this plant for good. I only need one node to grow it into a healthy plant eventually so as long as it roots somewhere it should be fine from then on, right? Sorry if it sounds dramatic, I have so many questions and concerns about how the vines will do.
TLDR; a philodendron that is extremely sentimental to me was almost completely killed while I was ill and I am trying to save what I can. I have a few small sections of scraggly vine that is still green, so any advice to up the odds of them rooting helps.

My ASUS TUF FX504 is finally getting retired after many years of loyal service. I'm shopping for new laptops on amazon and found these ones below. Im trying to compare them online, but each site Ive tried has various issues, such as not having the options shown on the amazon listing.
My only requirements are 64gb ram, at least 1+TB storage, and an intel i7/i9 or ryzen7/9 processor for speed, (id prefer the higher numbers, but will settle for lower if it's a good deal. Preferably under $2,000.
I don't game like I used to, so if it runs Diablo 2 Resurrected, then I'm happy, lol 😂 I already have a gaming pc anyway. My laptop is mostly for art and video entertainment.
I am a graphic artist (mostly 2D stuff like comics) with an addiction to multitasking - I normally have photoshop open while alt-tabbing to chrome for hours at a time, and I get pissed when my computer locks up from it! I need a beast that shrugs multitasking off like it's nothing.
Otherwise my laptop is used for streaming hd tv and movies. Nothing too fancy.
These are what I've found so far. Which do you think fits my preferences best? I'm also trying to factor the best deal - I'll trade raw performance over overpriced gimmicks any day. Do you have any recommendations of your own?

Any advice on how we might restore an iMovie project. Scenario... My daughter and classmate filmed several video clips using the camera app, imported the clips into iMovie, edited, viewed the final completed project and attempted to export to photos. Next step woud have been to upload the final movie file from photos to Google Classroom. iPad gave back error that the iPad was out of storage. Assuming the movie project now contained the video clips, was edited and viewable, my daughter deleted the video clips from photos and then deleted the recently deleted folder to free up enough space so that she could complete the iMovie export and then Upload to Google Classroom. Now the iMovie project will not load, is no longer playable, the original video files are deleted and we're freaking out.

So disclaimer this is everything my roommate did when she lived with me from my perspective. Also this is a really long story because a lot happened, and I do tend to get sidetracked.

Eventually, though, when there was a lull in our relationship she admitted to liking John, and I backed off because it was looking like a relationship between me and John wasn’t gonna happen. I did my best to subtly wingman and they ended up dating.
Right before they made it official, I had met someone new. We’ll call him Tim (I’m trying to use generic/default guy names to keep some anonymity). Tim and I hit it off right off the bat. He’s honestly the most genuine, talented, thoughtful, and interesting guy I’ve ever met. Anyway, right before John and Shortstack started dating, I got a text from Shortstack saying she had the hots for Tim and asked if I he was free game. I was a bit bothered by that, but she respected my answer when I politely told her that Tim and I had something good and I didn’t want anyone interfering. At least, I THOUGHT she respected my answer.
Almost a year later and I had asked Shortstack if she wanted to be my roommate so we could both live near school while not having to live on campus. Worst decision ever.
She moved in before I did, and when it was my turn to move in the place was an absolute disaster. Dirty clothes and empty Dominos boxes covered the floor. She had also set up her decorations all over the entire apartment (not really leaving any room for me, which was made worse by the fact that we shared a room, and the apartment was very tiny so we were basically living on top of each other). I brushed it off, but it never really got any better. Normally I wouldn’t be too upset, I’m not a huge neat freak or anything, but it peeved me that she would always point out any mess that I had made.
Here’s a list of some of her really gross habits: dirty underwear everywhere kept old dominos boxes everywhere would buy salads and let them expire and they would sit there until I took them out Refused to do any chores or contribute in any way our shower didn’t fully drain so hair was often left in the tub, but she never cleaned up after herself (meaning I was scrubbing her pubes out of the tub) Used tissues would be left on the ground Not flushing I never once saw her do laundry in the 6 months we lived together

New makeup, a makeup chair, a tiny plastic Dreamhouse, posters and picture frames, lights, you name it. She was also buying premade meals and continued to order Dominos and DoorDash, never making her own food.
That’s around the time I found a buried letter from our landlord saying she was 2 months behind on rent. (Also an honorable mention about her RGB lights, she would keep them on while I was trying to sleep, even when I had work in the morning which was most days and she’d throw a little hissy fit whenever I asked her to turn them off because it was midnight and I had to get up in a couple hours).
She would constantly be having guys over, but would never tell me, so I’d always come home to a stranger on our couch and I’d uncomfortably lock myself in our room. Walls were thin so I had to listen to her awful flirting and occasionally kissing noises. She had made a goal for herself to kiss at least 30 guys so she could write a book about it, one chapter for each guy. It’s funny because the book is coming out soon, I’m not gonna share the name because I don’t wanna promote an incel’s diary but if you happen to be one of the guys she wrote about, just know that she has said several times her type is “Generic kinda ugly white guys.” I don’t think that’s her type, I think she just says that because all of the super attractive guys she went after all shot her down so quick.
While she’s collecting “ugly-ish white guys” (her words), she has promised herself to some dude in the military overseas who has a ring with their initials carved into it (his name is Matt. I’m not censoring that because I genuinely hope he sees this even though chances are insanely slim. She’s Jodie-ing you my guy, and she wants to elope and marry you to piss her parents off and for financial benefits because she can’t keep a job).
ONTOP of all this, Tim (who at this point I had been with for over a year) would come over and visit sometimes. She was always miserable, but perked up and suddenly became so sweet and friendly whenever he was there. Tim kept trying to drop some social cues that he did not want to talk to her, but she ignored it. I also want to mention that Tim is incredibly attractive, physically and personality wise, which is the main reason I think that “ugly” isn’t actually her type, it’s just all she can get.
Oh quick mention one of her tinder guys was 17. She was close to 20 at the time. She said their age gap made her uncomfortable but she invited him over because she wanted to, and I quote, “lick his abs.” Take that as you will.
My breaking point with her was when I woke up one day with a random man in the room sleeping next to her. She let a random man from tinder have full unsupervised access to 2 unconscious girls and all of their valuable items. I’ve been on this game for years only because I spent a bunch of money as a kid and now I don’t want them to go to waste.
This was the most boring and mid season ever. At first they tried to overbalance all the weapons and have the mythicals be more useful and medals have more utility and less heals. Ok cool, good competitive changes but not very fun
Only 4 new POIs that replace already existing ones in such a huge and empty map was honestly dumb. Then they added the avatar and Star Wars stuff and absolutely ruined the season for me. And the changes they’ve made to XP, I used to comfortably reach level 200 just playing the game. Now I’m consciously playing to finish challenges every session and I’m still only at level 90. So yes overall the game has gotten very stale, the OG season was Peak Fortnite and then just like a dream it was all gone in a blink of an eye.
If you never played during summer 2018-late 2019 you’d definetly like the game as is, but people who know what it used to be very much miss it. No bots, no skill based matchmaking, no triple edits. Just vibes.
Now I’m only playing because I have too many skins and save the world gives me free v-bucks. If I hadn’t wasted my money as a kid I wouldn’t be wasting my time and ruining my discipline for more important things just to play.
It’s a guilty pleasure, I have PS Plus and loads of games, but after a long day sometimes I just wanna shoot some people and crank 90s. Are there any good free ai art generators or whatever that would be proficient in making a 'bird person'? I've tried the drawing route I'm embarrassingly bad. Alice (said bird person) really wants some sort of permanace so I was thinking of capturing 'her image' but we are having trouble finding a generator that gets it right. Any suggestions?

Early 30s, M/HCOL location. Single and expect to stay that way indefinitely. Do not want kids.
Goal: Open an art studio and work at least part time making art indefinitely. I've made art and sold it since I was a kid, otherwise I'd drown in my own stuff. I get more requests than I can fill currently, and I've consistently grossed 6-10k the last few years on the side with minimal/moderate effort from freelance contracts, product sales, and teaching, all while also working full time, moving multiple times, job changes, gaining and losing studio space, volunteering, staying active, etc. I'm starting to burn out doing it all at the same time for years now however, and it's affecting my mental and consequently physical health.
Current employment: My current work structure/colleagues/management leave a lot to be desired and the work can be both very boring, political, chaotic and stressful at times, with high staff turnover, but I've worked in worse places overall. The pay is about 30% over what I could get at any other employer locally on top of great vacation and benefits which kind of makes up for it? The industry in general sucks and is not helping the burnout situation.
Why now (or in the next year or so) vs. full FIRE or at least a fatter coast while the money is flowing? The main person who runs an arts program/business in my community is retiring soon and has expressed wanting an apprentice for some of his contracts. He doesn't make a lot, but he's been doing it for 30 years, raised 3 kids while divorced on it, and goes to Mexico for a month every year. It seems like a fantastic opportunity to inherit a developed client base, possibly buy cheap materials/equipment, and general support to launch into the next phase.
My original, "5 year plan," was to shovel any money free after filling registered accounts into the mortgage so the value at renewal in 3 years is very low and then either fully pay it off or extend the amortization period depending on rates/life at that point. The idea being to reduce cash flow requirements to as minimal as possible before leaving my current employment vs. possibly having to pull down on investments for a year or two to bridge the gap, but functionally I'm not sure it makes a huge difference if you looked at market return vs. debt payoff over time, plus hopefully still adding to the stash here and there in the future.
My current employment as is is not tenable for 3 more years, but there are lots of other possible options such as finding another job that doesn't suck nearly as much energy and lets me break even on expenses for those 3 years. There is a small chance I could move to part time in my current role, but it depends on things mostly out of my control. I've planted the seed with another friend/possible employer about mutually beneficial contract work with them, to float a few years between now and 100% art, but that's also in the end up to them.
Question: If you were me, how comfortable would you feel leaving the golden handcuffs in roughly a year to work your ass off on something you've always wanted, but are also scared it will be a terrible choice to go into a "non-essential" field while the environment and consequently society starts to collapse around us? That last point makes me feel like YOLO and max conservatism are both very valid in different ways.

I know to not bank on this, but there is a high likelihood of a significant inheritance in roughly 25 years in the million + bracket. I should be fully FI before this point, however I also fully believe we will be dealing with global watefood wars and climate migration crisis before then.
